Thank you? Man, I'm great.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Had a wonderful vacation, family reunion, just a great time.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Awesome. Good to be back, too, awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
It's great to see family, great to recharge and have
some fun to kick back. I love it, especially after
the long year of what we've been doing, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
And yeah, you busy and we got to take some time.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
I know people aren't happy about it when we take off,
but we do have to get some time.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
So this is the down time. I mean, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
There's no NFL, there's no basketball, or at least NBA basketball,
and you know, the baseball playoffs are still around the corner.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
So it's time. This is the time, like you said,
to take off if you just have to, like to
get some time in. Man.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
A big baseball game in Philadelphia already, Yankees Phillies Chris
three nothing, Jazz Chisholm with his first home run as
a Yankee.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
That's what it went and got him add some energy
to it.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Yeah, yeah, he had a solo home run. Judge has
a home run, and Rice has a home run. Three
nothing Yankees in the second inning. Yes, early, okay, yep,
all right, we got a great show. Let's do it, man,
all right.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
The Eye Couple crew is in full effect on the
ones and twos. It is the man, the myth of
the legend. He is here gracing us with his presence,
which we're all happy about. My mate, DJ Alex Tyser
aka Alex.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
The veganj is so long, Chris. Really, on the way
into the studio, I almost stopped to braid it. I mean,
that's how say. I just I was like, should I
just braid your hair? But he wanted me to wash
your first, and that's why I drew the lot. Okay,
I'll braid it, but I won't wash it. Okay, all right,
all right, Chris, what's going on? The super producer Rob

(03:37):
G is in the house. Rob G has a nice
golf shirt that you get out of the gift shop
at a Las Vegas hotel?

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Right, Rob G? Is that where you got that from?
Was that free? With their bowl of soup at.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
The whole shout out to you, Lamar mitchell As only
paid one hundred and eleven dollars.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
They gotta pay for the light somehow. All right, you
were there this past weekend, Rob Gi?

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Yes, sir, I was.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
He had a guys weekend, no wives, no kids. I'm
since city. I know a lot of stuff went on,
but that's all good, all right.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
One of the social media our man, Elijah Sebunya.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Elijah, come over here so Chris can see you. Can
you believe he's in the studio, Chris, He's right here
behind me.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Look, I mean, yeah, what's up, Elijah? How you doing? Man?

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Good to see you, brother, Chris. I don't know when
he's there or not. No, he's not here. I just
assume he's there.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
No, no, no, Actually, it's the first time I've seen
Elijah in about six months, I think.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Okay, right, and the.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Updates Steve then our man Steve. All right, Rob, let's
get into it. Yesterday, team USA beat Serbia about twenty
six points. Kevin Durant and Lebron James both fantastic, particularly Durant,
who was playing his first game with the Olympic team

(05:00):
every day. Look, they decided he would play about an
hour before.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
But Chris, you just said it. One thing. He hadn't
played with these guys.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
It doesn't matter who you drop in with Kevin Durant
or who he drops him with.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
He's gonna write He's that kind of player, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
I mean, he's the perfect Team USA player because he's
surrounded by great players, so the defense can't focus on him,
you can't double teaming, and that means he's either getting
an open shot or a one on one opportunity.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
And with his height, with his shooting ability.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Also Rob in the NBA, you know, I've been saying
this for years, Kevin Durant needs.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
To shoot more three pointers.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
He only shoots about five a game, which for a
guy who can shoot it as well as him, He's
got shooting like nine a game, and he takes a
lot of mid.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Range shots and long twos.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
But guess what those long twos are in the international play,
threes because the three point line is shorter.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
So, uh, he's the perfect player.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
That's why he's the leading scorer all time for Team USA.
Also Rob, the guy who's second is similar to Durant,
not as good.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Carmelo Anthony, same thing with him, catch.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
And shoot, one on one, jump shooter, mid range shooter.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
The international play.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Was perfect for him as well, and that's why he's
the second leading scorer all time. But yeah, so Durant
was spectacular twenty three points twenty one in the first
half and changed the game. They were down six when
he entered the game. They quickly went on an eleven
zero run behind two three pointers from him, and then
they go win, going away by twenty six points. But

(06:52):
one of the huge stories rob coming out of the
game was that Jason Tatum, who has been the first
team All NBA player the last three years, the.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Only American on the All NBA team.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
This year, was bitched. Did not play a moment. And
here's what Steve Carr said about it, the head coach.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
It's tough, but Jason handled it really well. I talked
to him today before the game that they may play
out this way just with Kevin coming back and the
lineups that I wanted to get to, but that'll change.
You know, Jason's gonna play. Every game is going to
be different based on matchups. He's a total pro. He's
you know, first team All NBA three years in a row.

(07:36):
I felt like an idiot not playing him, But you know,
a forty minute game, you can't play more than ten,
you really can't, and you know, so I just I
think he's He's an amazing guy, great player, and handled
it beautifully, and you know he'll be back out their.

Speaker 8 (07:52):
Next game, poppy Cock boulder dash. Sorry, Steve Carr.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
It was a blow He couldn't play a few minutes
to get up off the bench. The last time Jason
Tatum didn't get into a game, a basketball game, Chris,
was when he didn't.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Play in the game he was playing at I can't
imagine he's ever not played a minute.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, it was when he was in little league. He
didn't play any basketball minutes. That's the only time in
a basketball game. Yes, come on, Steve Kerr stopping. I
understand forty minutes ten players. There was a blowout once
Kevin Durant did his thing and got them where they
wanted to go, Chris, what would have been the worst
thing in the world to put him out there for

(08:34):
a few minutes?

Speaker 4 (08:35):
He if he explained it before.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Fine, there's no reason that you don't empty the bench Serbia. Really, Chris,
you were but worried about Oh, gotta keep those guys in.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
I got my rotation. I gotta keep it set against Serbia.
I don't want them to come back.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I'm sorry, you know what, And I'm sure Jason Tatum
is not gonna say anything, and he's.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Just gonna go along with the Chris, you know what
I mean. But I'm sorry, and we get it.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
I'm not saying he expects to play twenty five minutes
and he's pissed that he didn't start, and we get this.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
There's nothing, but it's a roster full of great player.
And it's not even that he's not as good.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
I mean, he's better, clearly better than Drew Holliday, bam
out of bise de Chris.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
So it's not about and that's.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
What he has to realize, so he doesn't get down
on himself.

Speaker 9 (09:24):
Rob.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
It's not about who's the best player. I think he's
better than Devin Booker too. It's about the fit.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
And I hear you. Here's what I say, though, I.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Do think Steve Kerk going to Jason before the game
and saying, look, we got Kevin Durant coming back. We're
obviously gonna get him some minutes. This team Serbia is big,
so we're gonna play all three of our sinners and
their guard or in it.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
So we're gonna play the guards.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
You might not play tonight at all, And I think,
and I that still doesn't make it better or I
shouldn't say it doesn't makes it better. It does make
it better, It doesn't make it you know, you still
want to play. But I think Rob a coach going
to you before the game and saying that does soften

(10:18):
the blow a little bit, versus if you're just blindside.
You think you're the seventh man on the team and
you're blindsided by not playing at all.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
And then I.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Think Rob, I wonder if Kerr felt like, do I
put him in with four minutes left, we're up twenty five,
whatever it was? Does he does that? Is that disrespectful?
Does he feel bad?

Speaker 4 (10:44):
You know?

Speaker 5 (10:44):
If I put him in in garbage time and all that?
I mean maybe not because Rob, the point different point
differential does matter in these early rounds, like how how
big the margin of victory is. But I I think
it's going to like going forward is really how it's
going to impact Jason Tatum, like Current saying he's gonna

(11:08):
play in their next game, which is Wednesday against South
Sudan because South Sudan is more athletic and Tatum's a
better matchup for them, and all that last time he played,
they only won by a point, but he played sixteen minutes.
If he only plays rob three or four minutes, now,
you're gonna Tatum's gonna be like, yo, what's going on.

(11:30):
He won't say it publicly, as you said, but that's
when he's gonna really be bothered. If he plays fifteen minutes,
twelve minutes, twenty minutes, whatever it might be. I think
he'll be fine and understand, Yo, that was just a
matchup situation.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
KD was coming back. I get it. So I just
think how they handle it going forward is gonna be
a big part of this too.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
I just think that you also, like you talked about
putting him in the last four minutes, I think a
guy who's coming off like the high of his uh
NBA career finally broke through after all that. The conversation
naturally is one of embarrassment for him, whether he says

(12:13):
it or not. His family, friends, people, Oh, they didn't
even put you.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
How could they disrespect you like that? Like, like I I.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Think if you're Steve Kurr, you have to understand there
is a part of that.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
Chris.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
And if you went to if you went to Tatum
and said, hey, I know, we only got four minutes
left here, if you want to go in, I'll put
you in, Chris. And if he says, if you don't,
I respect that as well.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
I'm gonna give you.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
It's your it's your call. And let him say, coach,
let me just go out and get a few minutes.
I want to get out and get out there. Do
you do you know what I mean? Chris like no, yeah, yeah.
That's the way that it could have been handled. And
and and Steve Kirk could have said, you know what,
I offered him a chance to go out there, and
he wasn't uh you know, he wasn't trying to uh
make that happen or whatever. He just you know, felt

(12:59):
like it was so late in the game and he
hadn't he wasn't made to do or whatever it is.
And people would have been like, oh, he had a
chance to go, but he just didn't want to play.

Speaker 5 (13:06):
It would have softened it.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Today he's being a pinata for no reason. Right.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
It's a bad look. And I think two is your
stature in the game. Like we said, he's coming off
winning the championship, he's first team All NBA the last
three years.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
He's in his prime, like he's starting his prime. If
you will, and so for him it is a big deal.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
Whereas Tyree's Halliburton, he's over there, he's young, he's smiling,
he's laughing, he's having fun, and I get it. Tyre's
Halliburton is not even in his prime yet. He's just
happy to be on the squad, right, And so there's
a difference in how they handled it.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
But again, publicly, Tatum was good. He has to be.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
He cannot make us think even if he doesn't play
against South Sudan, you can't say anything publicly. Now you
could be ticked off privately, but in public, you you
this is about winning a championship or a gold medal.
It's not about any individual, all right. And I maybe

(14:14):
Rob being behind two legends like Lebron and KD softens
it a bit for him, But you know, it was
a tough I would have liked to have seen him
got in get in. It's not like he didn't play
well during the exhibition games, and it was unfortunate that
you know, he didn't get in.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
But we'll see.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
I mean, if it Rob, if he's bench going forward,
you know, and doesn't play much, then it's gonna really
be a problem.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
All be a problem all Right?

Speaker 5 (14:42):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox What were your
thoughts on the benching if you will?

All right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, you
just heard rib your thoughts.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
On Jason Tatum being bitched? All right, Marty and Kentucky,
you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
What's up, Marty?

Speaker 9 (16:36):
What's that? Fellas? Are you doing Magic Monday?

Speaker 4 (16:40):
We are doing great? Good Marty.

Speaker 9 (16:44):
I'm Jack today, so I'm ready to talk to sports.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (16:51):
I do not think that what Kirk did is disrespectful,
but I think the Tatum has the I think Tatum
has a legit reason to feel disrespected. There is a
lineup of shooters that you could put him out there
with and he can do his thing. What his style

(17:14):
that he's playing with Boston now is I think it
was with a lot of these guys. He Boston was
a better team. When people say he's not a killer,
he's not this, He's not that well. They're a better
team when he plays the way he's been playing and
he's coming off from MVP. We saw his face when
they announced the MVP. We know it bothered him. We

(17:35):
know he's happy for his teammate, but at the same
time it bothered him. We saw his his interaction with
his mother when she came to and said, what are
they going to say? Now? What are they going to say? Now?
Clearly the man feels like there's a wall that he
hasn't quite stepped over and gotten the respect that he
probably deserves. And I kind of understand it. I kind

(17:55):
of feel it for him. I don't think he is
getting the respect he deserves.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
Yeah, and this is just another example that's where the
problem is. This is another one where people can look
at him and say, man, look at that. They disrespected
him in the Olympics, Like they wouldn't even play him
a minute, they wouldn't even put him in the game.
So Martin, there is an issue. I'm just saying for
him personally.

Speaker 9 (18:18):
And if he goes in and plays his ball dominant
style that he has now, I mean that's gonna take
from Lebron and I think that's part of it.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Yeah, I mean he does, and that's why I said
he has to understand and this can help him deal
with it.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
It's not about you're not good enough. I mean you're
not better necessarily.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
You might not be better in international play than Lebron
and KD, but you're obviously better than Drew and I
mentioned the players Derek whiting them. He has to understand
it's more about fit and not about you're not as good.
I mean, hey, is running made it even on the
team and got disrespected. So yeah, it's I mean, look,

(19:01):
I kerk could have played him, He should have played him.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
All that forty minute stuff is hoguard.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
He could have got him in Chris if you wanted
to like to give somebody a blow and go out
there for four minutes. Andre Dre and Massachusetts, you're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (19:18):
Hey was going on? Thanks for taking my call, Listen.
I was wondering, it's just the YMCA that we're playing
basketball at.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
Do we have well, nobody on the YMCA team won
the NBA Championship of two a month and a half ago.

Speaker 11 (19:32):
I get what you're saying, Rob, but we're not. We're
beyond the participation trophy phase. The bottom line is coaches
know full well when it's winning time, that's when you.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Shot it won by twenty six.

Speaker 8 (19:43):
Come on, really, Serbia, you were afraid of Serbia, dre
up in Massachusetts where you're shaking in your boots.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
Well, Serbia won silver last year without Jokic in the
World Championship, so they're pretty good team.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
I'm just saying in this game though, where they were
Chris is all I'm saying, I maybe go one in, but.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
It wound up being a blowout. Drey, No, it.

Speaker 11 (20:04):
Wasn't a blow up with it. The theory with these terrorists,
try kurb is getting across there, and it's not just
a some of these guys are going to need to
sit when they get in these nip and tuck games.
Jason Tatum, you got the cold Sea, however you want
to put it first, but down the stretch, specifically when
they get into the metal round playing against teams that
are loaded like France, everybody is not going to play.

(20:26):
Bottom line, and he's just establishing that tone.

Speaker 9 (20:28):
Oh could pat Riley say?

Speaker 11 (20:29):
Pat Riley said, I trust eight, play seven?

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Okay, okay, But here's the problem.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
Derek White had to play ten minutes?

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Is that?

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Is that what had to happen that really rock that
I'm just asking Derek White couldn't have played six and
Tatum four or or or Tatum six and Derek White four.
Come on, where there's a will, there's a way. You
can't sit here and go Everything that Steve Kerr did
was exactly right.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Oh No, Derek.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
White has to play ten minutes, Chris against Serbia for
this to work.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
Without his ten minutes, we won't win it all.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
As they say in the barber Shaw they got blowed
out Sir Bia.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
All right around the corner, we're gonna talk about Caitlin Clark.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Should she have been on Team USA. We'll get into
that next.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
Chris and Rob the Odd Couple Live from Thetiereck dot
Com studios and Rob the Women's Team USA.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Did they they played today? Correct? One by twenty said
who they beat? Who they beat?

Speaker 5 (21:40):
Okay, so the big story Rob, of course, go for
Team USA, the Women's was that Caitlyn Clark was not
on the squad, and you saw I don't know if
you watch it. I watch some of it the All
Star game where remember we talked about that the WNBA
All Stars, those who were left like off.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
The Olympic team. They beat them handily.

Speaker 5 (22:05):
I think the final score was maybe eight or nine points,
but they were up big late in the game before
the Olympic team kind of rallied a little bit. But
of course Citland Clark did not lead them. I can't
remember the name of the woman who led him. She
was awesome, thirty four points. But the big story, of course,

(22:28):
was that Caitlyn Clark was left off of Team USA.
And Don Staley, the former WNBA player and legendary player
and coach now for South Carolina University of South Carolina.
She was a part of the selection committee, Rob g
I believe, and here's what she said when she was

(22:48):
asked about Caitlyn being left off the Olympic team.

Speaker 12 (22:51):
As a committee member, you're charged with putting together best
team of players, the best talent. Caitlyn was just a
rookie in the WNBA, wasn't playing bad, but wasn't playing like.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
She's playing now.

Speaker 12 (23:03):
If we had to do it all over again, the
way that she's playing, she would be in really high
consideration of making the team because she is playing head
and shoulders above a lot of people, shooting the ball
extremely well. I mean, she is an elite passer. She's
just got a great basketball IQ, and she's a little
more seasoned in the pro game.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
In a couple of months.

Speaker 12 (23:24):
Yeah, in a couple of months, and she was two
months ago.

Speaker 8 (23:27):
Rob poppy Cock boulder dash rubbish, Really, Chris, they didn't
know she could play like they needed to watch her
for two months in order to say whether or not
she should be on it.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
Did they watch the college women's tournament? Chris? Did they
watch that at all? Seriously?

Speaker 1 (23:46):
To say that they needed two more weeks to evaluate
her and whether or not she belonged on the Olympic
team is the biggest bunch of nonsense I've ever heard.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
They know she can play. What are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (23:58):
Maybe, okay, maybe she wasn't gonna be the starter, Chris,
or you had some more seasoned players, but the city
here and say that she wasn't one of the top
twelve or fifteen players in the country to represent the
USA for the women's team, and you needed a couple
more weeks. Really that she oh, she had a great
two weeks. Yeah, we would have had two more weeks.

(24:19):
We would have put her on nonsense, Stop it, Come on.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Rob, Parker is fired up?

Speaker 6 (24:27):
I am.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
You're excited to see me? I guess.

Speaker 8 (24:31):
I mean, I remember I wasn't on vacation last week,
and I'm fired up.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
You are hyped?

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Come on, Chris?

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Or she well?

Speaker 5 (24:40):
Is she definitely one of the best twelve Americans? I
don't know yet. I'm not certain what I am certain of, Rob.
They blew an opportunity she was playing. It is true
that now she is bawling, But I'm not sure Rob,
if she started her career because she was still playing well,

(25:02):
but has she started a career playing like she has
for the last month or so, would she have been
on Team USA?

Speaker 6 (25:11):
Rob?

Speaker 4 (25:11):
I got be honest, I don't think so. I think
there was some.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
Jealousy, resentment, maybe not even wanting to play into the
whole you know thing about Ray's sexuality, what you know,
all the different topics that were.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
Following Kaitlyn Clark early in her WNBA career.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
Maybe they didn't want to deal with that. But the
bottom line, Rob, is that they blew an opportunity.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
Period.

Speaker 5 (25:44):
If Caitlyn Clark's on this team, you're still gonna win gold.

Speaker 4 (25:48):
But if she's on the team, more people are watching.

Speaker 5 (25:53):
And it's true, I do think, Rob, there would have
been a big push among American fans to have her play.
You know, like we're talking about Jason Tatum getting bitched.
If she didn't play a lot, there might be some backlash,
but she was definitely good enough to be on the team,
whether she's top twelve.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
That's what I'm saying. That's what I mean. They just blew.
I just think they blew an opportunity.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yeah, I know, to come back now, you just be
better off to just say we just picked it. Of course,
whenever you do a team like this, Chris, there's always
going to be some great players left off and we
can't take everybody. That's a better conversation for me and
and to hear that rather than saying if we had
evaluated her for a couple more weeks or a month

(26:38):
or whatever, would.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
She wasn't playing that she was playing.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
Well, that's what I'm saying. I mean again, not as
well as she has been lately, but she was still
playing well exactly, and you could have argued nobody would
I mean, people would have got mad because they got
mad that she was you know, all the other accolades
she's gotten. But it would have been justifiable to have
her on the team. And Rob the fact that and
she didn't have a great game. She only had four points.

(27:03):
She did have ten assists in that All Star Game
against Team USA, but Rob, the fact that they beat
Team USA, and I think they may have beaten them
in twenty twenty, Rob G, maybe check that out.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
I think they may have beaten them in twenty twenty
as well.

Speaker 5 (27:17):
But the fact that they beat them, Rob, and you
had the basically the two most popular players in the
game were Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese playing for the
WNBA All Star team. I think that makes it look worse,
Rob right, that they left her off right, because like,
oh no, they just beat you, right, and she couldn't

(27:38):
make your team, right, It doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
And I think that they were trying to smooth it
over and make people feel better about it, like, oh wow,
she's playing great now, and man, we wish we would
have known this.

Speaker 4 (27:51):
Going with your known how good she is. Wow, that's all.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
That's the only issue I really have is that it
just doesn't make any sense just say what she got
left off? Because there's so many great players in this
country and we had a team set up, and there's
a ton of people we've left off, you know, over
the years, and she just happened to be one of them.

Speaker 4 (28:14):
And accept that.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
The fact, Rob, that Mike Tarrico asked about it shows
you that they blew an opportunity. It shows you that
they right, Like he's why is even asking her about that?

Speaker 4 (28:28):
Right?

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Because she's the most popular women's player in the world,
That's why, and that should have informed Team USA. I mean,
you got and look shout out to Diana Tarassi. I
don't have a problem with her being on a team.
Was she forty two years old? Forty two years old?

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Something like that?

Speaker 5 (28:47):
I get Lebron's up there too, but Lebron is actually
and Tarassi I think had a pretty decent game.

Speaker 11 (28:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
I just think Rob that they, like I said, they
missed an.

Speaker 5 (28:59):
Opportunity to get eyeballs on that team, and now they're
going to for lack of a better word, suffer for it,
because I don't think their games are gonna be as
watched as they would have otherwise been, and people are
gonna be far more focused on the men's team USA.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
And then I think Steve gave the record was the
women's seventy and one, Chris, if she was on a
team or not, would that really have affected whether or
not they win the gold? I mean seventy and one,
like really like it was that that big of a
deal on trying to decide who's gonna play, And I'm
sure she could have easily been on that squad and

(29:39):
it just didn't make sense.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Rob g jump in here.

Speaker 6 (29:41):
For well, this is just quickly for you guys for
the last segment. Especially somehow in the game that the
USA women also won by twenty six points, every single
player was able to get minutes. I don't know how
they were to figure how'd they do that? I don't know.
And then you know Diana Tarazzi forty two years old,
how to get her on the team because she's invaluable, right,
couldn't get her over Caitlyn Clark Dad at Tronsi in

(30:03):
fifteen minutes of action, scored two points, had one assist,
three rebounds, and three fouls.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
Very nice. I mean, Clark can't do that, man, Let's
just keep it.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
It was a lot of petty pettiness there and Chris jealousy.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
It was jealousy, but because she got so much attention,
the numbers that they got on on her games and whatnot,
they just they It was it was almost like almost
like Chris, like when Michael Jordan was his first All
Star game and they didn't want to turn it over
to him like they did. They were like, this, dude,
that the NBA is not going to just give him everything,

(30:40):
you know what I mean. So we're gonna We're not
gonna pass on the ball. We're gonna do this, We're
gonna do that. Like that's what it turned out being.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
No, I think that's very that's right on the money
and what they need to And I do think rob
I could be wrong, but I think they are coming
to a round. First of all, I think there was
legitimate question among some players in the WNBA as to

(31:08):
how good Caitlyn Clark was. I mean, I think they
knew obviously she was a phenomenal college player, but I
really think that they were one is she.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
Really all that.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
And now the way she's been playing this last three
four weeks, they know now, and I feel like there's
a little more acceptance.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
Of her, and there should be.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
And what they need to recognize is, Look, obviously, you
compete against her and you try to beat her. But
the more popular she gets, the more popular and the more.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Money we get.

Speaker 5 (31:51):
Am I wrong with I mean, you're not gonna get
as much as her, but she is going to lift
your league to the degree that one person can lift
a fee basketball league.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
She really is. I get it.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
But people in the game who know the game just
a little surprised that they watched her, Chris, She's not
like she was a one year wonder. They've been watching
her for years. Last year we got a real glimpse.
People paid attention to her, right, and we got this year,
and then for people still to have these questions, uh,

(32:25):
not to be to start a team, but to even
make the team. I just wonder how basketball people didn't
think she could play or didn't think that much of her.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
I think it was probably rooted in to your point,
jealousy of you know what I mean. Like, instead of
objectively looking at her, it was like, all right, we're
gonna see you know, because because she was even in college,
her ratings were through the roof. All right, it's the
Odd Couple Chris and Rob Glaber Taurus calls in a stink.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Shekel City the whole base for Rob Parker's daily dix
against the sprat.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
All right, here we go, a little Shekel City. Let's
start here, Kansas City hosting the White Sauce. Sin said,
Kansas City's in Chicago taking on the White Sox. Kansas
City minus one and a half runs. That is the
best bet for the night. Also Pittsburgh minus one and
a half in Houston taking on the Astra who somehow

(34:01):
somewhere of fifty five and fifty, Chris, they got off
to such a bad start trying to make a run.
I know, fifty five and fifty amazing. And in the
last one I'm taking Milwaukee minus one and a half
at home taking on the Atlanta Braves. So I have
Milwaukee minus one and a half, Pittsburgh minus one and
a half, and Kansas City minus one and a half.

(34:22):
And remember, Chris besaw it, I'm not telling you who
to bet on. I'm telling you who I bet.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
On your little gig.

Speaker 5 (34:29):
Yes, that's right, all right, Well, rob Zie, explain to us.
There's a little bit of controversy in New York with
the Yankees.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
That is right.

Speaker 6 (34:40):
As you know, they recently acquired an MLBRE and B bro.
You need to know jes Chisholm. That's right, he's the one.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
He's the guy.

Speaker 6 (34:49):
You know, the Yankees and the Dodgers are MLB Bros Teams,
But you're not, Chris.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
You could call it.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
Remember that in the Negro League, the Yankees team was
called the Black Yankees, the Yankee gu You know what,
I didn't know that was their name.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
That was the New York Black Yankees. Wow, why they're
going to just be the Yankees?

Speaker 5 (35:08):
They had to be the Yankees, right, he said, you
know what it's like, rob football the New York Football
Giants because already had the baseball Giants.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
In New York. I think that corrected.

Speaker 6 (35:20):
But in any event, they acquired Jazz Chism, who was
predominantly a second baseman, and uh, the problem is Glabor
Torres play second base for the Yankees.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Now.

Speaker 6 (35:30):
When Chisholm's debut, it wasn't a big deal because Stanton
was hurt, so they said, hey, Jazz, you'll play center field.
Aaron Judgell d h and All is well. However, g
and Carlos stan is coming back off the injured list.
I believe he's actually back tonight actually, And before the game,
reporters asked both Jazz Chism and Labor tore Is, hey,

(35:51):
would one of you guys be cool moving to third
base since you know you both predominantly play second Jazz Chishom,
to his credit, says yeah, I'll play whatever they need
me to play. I'm ready to do. I'm happy to
be here. Labor Torres. First thing he says before he
clears it up.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
Later, I don't like it. So guys, we already could
have some problems in the Bronx.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
But I already know he did clear it up because
people probably pushed back on him saying, dude, the Yankees
are scuffling, Chris, right, They just won their second series
in the last twelve when they won that series against
the Red Sox in Boston on Sunday night. Uh play
wherever you gotta play, have to make the team better,
Glabor Torres, Chris ain't an All Star bat in three

(36:33):
forty he.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
In fact, what's he bad? And I think he's two
thirty five six?

Speaker 5 (36:39):
What you bally yanked about one persent? You look, you're
still on the team, Rob Alex Rod Regaz Damn. I
know he's not a Hall of It. He's an all
time great.

Speaker 4 (36:51):
Christ God was a seven runs right. He switched from
shortstop to third. He was a better shortstop than Jeter Chris.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
He was the best short stopping the league, and he
switched for the betterment of the team.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
It'stten Mookie Bets, Rob.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
Mookie Betts and MVP's won two World Series al NL
on and rue Chris to the Hall of Fame right
his career. And not only did he move to second base,
then when the short stop got hurt, he moved the
short stop, the hardest position on the field. He could
have said, I'm an outfielder. I'm not moving I'm a
Hall of Fame outfielder. Why am I moving well? And

(37:27):
also and.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
Not just pride, Rob it could you could justify, like, look,
I'm not as good. I might be making errors, I
might struggle, you know what I mean, Like I may
not be the golden glove, you know guy that I
am in the outfield. I mean, you could really use
those as legitimate excuses. And yet Mookie said, look, I'll

(37:49):
do whatever is needed for the team and for glabor tours.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
I'm sorry, this is a horrible look when you're just
a so so. He's a deezel. I don't want to
seem like he's not any good.

Speaker 5 (38:03):
But come on, man, when when dudes that are three
times the player you are have made these types of changes,
and like you said, Rob, and the team is struggling.
We made this move for a reason because it makes
us better.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
You need to go along and do whatever it takes.

Speaker 11 (38:17):
To.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
So he's over for two tonight.

Speaker 1 (38:19):
So if you're gonna say that, you better get some knocks,
which he doesn't have yet.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
But what did he say, rob G did he clean
it up?

Speaker 6 (38:26):
I mean he tried to. So he said, he said,
I don't like my daughter. I'm a second basement. I
play second and then he was pressed on it later said,
me and Boone had a conversation. Everything's on the table
in a couple of days. I'm gonna take some grounders
at third just thought case, just in case. So I'm
getting kind of ready for anything.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
Okay, they talked to him, Chris.

Speaker 5 (38:46):
You know, they talked to him absolutely like you said, right,
they and I couldn't be surprised if they said, you're
lucky you still on the spector what are you talking about?

Speaker 4 (38:56):
All right?

Speaker 5 (38:56):
This is the odd couple Chris that rob back together
again to hours left.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
Y'all know what to do. Lock it
