All right, we are the ID Couple.

(00:54):
it is a trash Talking Tuesday. That means in about
thirty five minutes or so, you should start calling in
eight hundred and nine seven seven ninety nine on Fox
to call in to get thirty to forty seconds to
trash anyone or anything in the world of sports.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
And VJ.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Husky I want to throw it out to you first
and foremost, who are you trashing?

Speaker 5 (01:21):
It might be Josh Allen. Wow, yeah it might be
Josh Allen. Man, Yeah, it might be Josh. I gotta
trash him now, or.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Is this we gonna talk Josh, so you you're gonna
have a whole segment to track him as Look I
just looked at the rundown.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Okay, Yeah, I didn't do that on purpose.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I I guess i'd have to trash. And again this
is my man, big time fan of his. He's a
great player. But come on, Ed, you're better than this.
You're better than this, and you said it right.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I didn't watch them, so I can't speak of him.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Just stop, just stop right there, because now you got
Kevin Gardiner weighing in. I mean, you don't have magic, Isaiah.
And now Kevin Garnett go off on you. So you
know that tells you right there it was the wrong
thing to say. But we'll talk about that a little
bit later. But your turn, of course, will come up
in thirty five minutes.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
We'll get your.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Takes ready, Josh Allen, you brought him up and Rob
g there was an ESPN poll or something like that
of players, right, so why don't you share with us
the findings of what their polls showed.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Sure, So ESPN surveyed one hundred and three anonymous players
to get their thoughts on all the quarterbacks around the NFL.
They asked them a series of questions, you know, who's
the goat, who's underrated? And when they asked who's overrated,
the guy receiving the most votes was the aforementioned Josh Allen.
And the reason throughout the entire response, both in this

(02:50):
ESPN article and actually yesterday in the Athletic piece for
quarterback tiers, anyone who is critical of Josh Allen all
points of the same thing.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Turnovers.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
Josh Allen had twenty two of them last season, the
second most of the NFL behind Sam Howell. Since twenty
twenty one, his fifty nine turnovers ranked second to Trevor Lawrence,
and since the start of the two thousand and eight season,
Allen's one hundred and two turnovers lead the NFL.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
There it is all right, well, look, since you you
were gonna trashing regardless, yep, I guess that gives you
a little fodder.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
Huh yeah, absolutely, I got it written out right here anyway,
And yesterday when we talked about the tiers like Tier one,
I'm not saying Josh Allen's not good, not saying Josh
Allen had had a good career but overrated. I might
ride with that on my top ten list right now.
I might have him in night nine to eight ten
in that range simply because, let me explain, simply, because
of the turnovers one hundred and two since twenty eighteen.

(03:48):
Turnovers hurt your team. I don't care how big you
aren't how much you can run over linebackers and defensive
backs in the touchdown passes you throw.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
They have literally now in the playoffs. I look this up.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
He hasn't been a big turnover machine in the playoffs.
And that's what Josh Allen defenders and Bill's mafia will
run to and show you those number. Fine, but one
hundred and two of them in the regular season are
costing you games where are costing you playoff positioning and
seeding to where you end up playing. And then also
last year at home everything in your hand, and you
let the Bill excuse me, you let the Chiefs come

(04:19):
in there and beating out there the Chiefs. I get it,
but you're at home and after the divisional game, I
keep pointing out to this he played tremendous that day.
That was not his loss. But since then the following year,
go look it up. Vegas had him favorite to win
the MVP. They had the Bill's favorite to win the
Super Bowl, and they can't get back to the AFC
Championship game. And people still keep crowning this guy and

(04:40):
all he is doing is get into wildcard and divisional
rounds and being sent home and he never gets any
he never gets any criticism for it's everybody else's fault
around him.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Now, going into this year, Chris all new receivers.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
We just heard the great befriends Tether, Kareem Jackson is
now big cut, Jordan Poyer is now down in Miami,
and you win, and Kean Coleman is gonna be your guy.
They tried with, they tried with different running backs. They
just won't. Run the football. Last year a lot better
than the previous three years. This year, yeah, well, last
year a lot better than the previous three years. The
previous three years their rankings were twenty four to twenty
six and twenty seven in the league. Running the football

(05:15):
a lot better last year. It needs to be better
this year. But we know Chris when it comes down
to it, they're gonna go away from the run. They're
gonna put it in the hands of Josh Allen, and
Josh Allen's gonna come up shore and turn the ball
over again. And we're still gonna say, oh, but he's
such a Tier one quarterback. Stop it. He missed his window.
He won't win the Super Bowl. Yes, he's missed this
his wind. Absolutely, he's missed this window. His wind was

(05:37):
his window one year? No, his wind.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
No, he that's the only time they got close. It's
been well, no, it's been closely.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
How does he twenty six years old and he missed
his window twenty six?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
He's got to be older than twenty six. Crazy.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
Oh, I know he's not old, but I think he's
got to be older than twenty six. But his window,
his window to win twenty eight, turn twenty eight, his
window to win a suit, in my just my opinion,
his window to win a Super Bowl, Chris, not go
out to make good plays. Not go out to make
good Holland super Bowl win. It's closed. No, yes, it's closed.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
No, it's not. Dude, ain't that good?

Speaker 7 (06:08):
Not?

Speaker 2 (06:09):
I'm not true.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
No, if your window close, if you're an all time great.
There is not one all time great quarterback whose career
whose window to win a Super Bowl was closed.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
At twenty eight. You have Josh Allen as an all
time played like he's gonna be a Hall of famer.
That's what I mean. He's gonna be a Hall of famer.
He is on a Hall of fame borderline.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
He is on a Hall of Fame trajectory. He's played
seven six years in the league. If his super Bowl
window is closed, then my good, he.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Ain't that good.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
I'm not saying he will even win a super Bowl,
but I'm saying his window is essentially the prime of
his career. Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow obviously my homes in
a whole different tier. Their super Bowl window is the
prime of their career period.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
I disagree.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
You could be in your say his window, that's ridiculous. No,
it's okay.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Here's the thing. Hold on, you spoke last five years.
I get it.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
And look, Josh Allen got flaws his game. He is
reckless with his body and with the ball. So I'm
not I'm not gonna gloss over his flaws. But you
talked about the interceptions, Well, who has led the league
in total touchdowns over the last five years. It's not

(07:32):
Patrick Mahomes. It's Josh Allen by a wide margin.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Josh Allen.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
We talk, we are looking at arguably the greatest quarterback
to ever play the game, and Josh Allen, I'm talking
about Patrick Mahons. Of course, Josh Allen in the last
five years has twenty four more touchdowns than that guy,
Patrick Mahomes. Who's the best effort And what's it done
for him?

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Well, he has what's.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
It done for anybody?

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Ben?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Patrick Mahomes is winning all the Super Bowl But that's
the point.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
I mean, that's the thing Mahomes is. This is the
Jordans I call I was. I think I was the first.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Maybe I'm wrong, but I called Mahomes jordan Esque the
first year he was playing. And he has been like
Michael Jordan and that he's hogging up all the championships
and nobody's eating I mean, I get it that he
hasn't win it every year, But you know what I'm saying, right,
And here's the thing, VJ and I know you, I'd

(08:32):
be shocked if you don't agree with this. Let's go
outside of Mahomes, and this is why he's on the
tier by himself. Every single quarterback in the league got
some flaws, every single one. I can look at Lamar
and say he has to improve his passing and he
hasn't played well in the playoffs. I can look at

(08:54):
Joe Burrow and say, bro, you gotta stay healthy, cliche
one of the best abilities availability preach right, and you're
not there. Josh Allen, you're too reckless. You do have
to protect the football, bro Dak Prescott, you look like
you get a little bit scared when the playoffs. All Right,
I mean, Aaron Rodgers, what have you done for me lately?

(09:16):
Bruh in the NFC title games? Heck the one you
won and went to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
And won it. You still didn't play well in the
NFC Championship game.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
So I'm just saying, like I could go on and
on down the line, and Josh Allen has his flaws,
but I'm not gonna sit here and say this dude.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Is not a bad, bad man, because he is. He is.
I preface my comment by saying I'm not saying he's
not good.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
I'm not here to say ninth No, I got to
hear the eight quarterbacks better than Jo Larry. I got
my list here in my notebook somewhere. But what I'm
talking about as far as his window being closed, I
just want to make sure I focus on that here
for a second. If you look at the team, it
started with Dabo leaving, okay, and then when you lose
your quarters. I'm a big guy in football. When core
they start to walk out the door. You may still

(10:03):
have talent there, but the production of the team or
the unit, whether it's your special team's coordinator, defense coordinator,
offense coordinator, is going to start to suffer. When you
need it most. They'll put up numbers, they'll put up
highlights and make it look good. But when it comes
down to pushing all your chips in the middle of
the table, that's where that coordinator.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Is going to be missed.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
So it started with Briandwall Okay, then it started with
Leslie Frazier. Now you've lost all of your receivers.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
You keep losing. Let's get real.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
If the dog look, I agree with you that I
don't think this year that the Bills are Super Bowl contenders.
Yeah at all. I think they'll make the playoffs. I
don't think they have.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Rob Gs got them out of the playoffs. That's his team.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
That didn't mean they fall off. Rob G's got falling off.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
But that to me, that's a team issue and that
they're going to improve over the years. Like this is
a kind of a rebuild. They're not not really, you
know that. To me, they're not rebuilding to the point
where they fall out of the postseason.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
But this is a bit of.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
A rebuild or or relaunch, and then whether it's next
year or the year after, they're gonna be right back
there near the top of the AFC.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
So that's what I'm saying. I disagree. I agree this year.
I don't think they're super Bowl contented. No, they won't
be window.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
To say that Josh Allen at twenty eight years old,
will never like be in the Super Bowl mix again,
which is what you're saying when you say his window is.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
Closed is ludicrous. No, he won't be wild card in
divisional round? Is the best is gonna get Let me
also point this out. You want to talk about the future,
there's teams come to AFC. Number one this year is stacked. Okay,
so that's this year. The MC's not gonna get worse
c J. Stroud and in Houston. You know, I love
the defense the coach puts out there. I like Pittman,

(11:44):
I like Taylor. They have weapons there. If Anthony Richardson
is that guy, then you know they're gonna come up
with Jacksonville. We know Tennessee theyre might pick to be
the worst team in the league this year. Is either
gonna be them in Patriots, But the Dolphins are gonna
be good. The Ravens are gonna be good. Cincinnati's gonna
be good. Look what Jimmy Berger's hardball's doing out here
with the truck Argers. They're gonna be good. We already
said my home big all that. What what is that
saying about his window? Because because you're saying that they're

(12:08):
not gonna be back, you're saying, I don't think they're
gonna I don't think they're gonna be better than these
other teams have a better chance of being better than
them over the next Number one, they're younger. Number one,
they all have quarterback he's young Okay, charges have Herbert younger,
Burrow younger. Younger was not close to Josh.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
I didn't say what better than Josh, I bet you
got too ahead of Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Of course I do. Okay, that's ridicous, not that fan. Listen,
it might be no way, it might be Tua. It's better.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Tua can't win in a brisk and when there's a
breeze out, well, he's better than Josh.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Guess what.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Guess what in the postseason, Josh Allen can't win win
as a breeze out.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
All been a lot further home, and he give Josh
Allen Tyreek Hill and Jayden Waddle and that road game Stephan.
The age that wasn't Digs, ain't Diggs is not Tyree.
I know that Tyreek Hill and and they don't have
Water was the number two.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Is he better than Water? Yes?

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Water was the number two. And I don't know if
he's better now. His career has been better so far,
but I don't know he's better.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Real quick, I'll admit listen, I'll be real with you. No,
I'll admit the tools. Yeah yeah, over him is I'm tripping, bro.

Speaker 8 (13:23):
You know me.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
I don't have no problem like with my little fandom.
You know it is what it is. We got you,
we got you try to clean it.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Up, but but he to me when I say window closed,
I'm looking at the rest of the af C. I'm
looking at his team, all the pieces they keep missing,
they keep losing.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Guys.

Speaker 5 (13:40):
If trust me, these other teams are gonna get better.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
You think they're gonna reach, They're gonna.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Rea and they're gonna boun pan to him on the platter.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Listen, have to compete. Don't get me wrong, I don't
like the playoffs this year. Sean McDermot could be fired, which.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
Means they they get a new head coach and they
got to start.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Over with a new system, and it's just gonna plug
and play. Josh, you're a.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
If you're that level of quarterback, then your window is
your prime.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
And now he's that level of quarterback. Division Round of
wild Cards. I don't think he'll get to another ant champions.
We gonna learn about another quarterback on that level. Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 2 (14:14):

Speaker 1 (15:41):
We're talking about the players voting Josh Allen in an
ESPN article the most overrated QB in the NFL. Well
one of the they had two vj that were tied
for the most underrated, one being brock Party, the other
Matthew Stafford. Love it now, Stafford, he gets love here

(16:01):
from these one hundred and three anonymous players, But also
Caleb Williams, wasn't anonymous? Have the best quarterbacks in the
league were Aaron Rodgers. That's obviously his hero, but right
now Aaron Rodgers obviously not the best quarterback in the league,
but Aaron.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Rodgers and Matthew Stafford at number two. And C. J.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Stroud praised Matthew Stafford to the high heavens a couple
of months ago. And so do you think that Stafford
has been underrated throughout his career or is underrated now?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
And where you at on his hall of fame?

Speaker 5 (16:41):
You know, bit, I love this topic because Maddie Stafford
is my guy. He's always been my guy since he
came out of West Texas High School and went off
to Georgia. Georgia Chris always has players I've always had
kind of a crush on. They had heines Ward at Quincy,
Carter Craig Lunkin at running back, They've all aj Green.
It's always been these Georgia guys for some reason.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
My team.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
Yeah, oh man, they just always have these guys. I
go between the hedges, ugg of the dog, all of that.
He was one of my first kind of crushes of
a team that I don't cheer for in college football.
He was in Detroit for so long and everything was
just so bad there for so long. He just got
all the he got all the blame, right, that's the
quarterback position. He got all the blame. But let me

(17:21):
just mention rookie receiving record, pookin the coup. Who's this quarterback?
Oh it was Matthew Stafford single season receiving record. Meggie
Tron then did it again with my man, Coop. Coop's
having the party, right, I mean, he just he's part
of three huge receiving seasons also too, eight straight sixteen sixteen,

(17:41):
which means sixteen games, sixteen starts.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
He's always been available.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
Fifty six thousand career yards, three hundred and fifty seven touchdowns.
And to me, if he's not first second, I can
take I can take second ballot. But after that, now, yeah, yes,
why now Raige's sure fire Hall of not surefire Hall
of Famer.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
And I'm not saying he's not a Hall of Famer.
I just don't take that.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
I think it's questionable, man, It's question is beyond questionable.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Super Bowl certainly, he's.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
A two time Pro bowler, Okay, two time Pro bowler
in how many years does he played?

Speaker 5 (18:21):
How many they take three quarterbacks a year? And we
know discount pro bowler's you know, I.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Mean, you know how many dudes that made last year?
Gardner Minshew was in the Pro Bowl? Bro has been
a Pro Bowler? That that don't mean the Pro Bowl.
Who was the dude the backup for the Ravens who
was a Pro Bowl? I think Mac Jones was no
back Jones. Yes, he's only made two in fifteen years.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
Pro Bowls different now though, Chris like, no, I know
to Vja, okay, I'm.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Look I like Stafford too. I don't like him as
much as you and C. J.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Stroud and all these guys them, because obviously had Jakwaski
Tart been able to hold onto the rock. Then Matthew
Stafford don't even have that Super Bowl and he's actually
viewed as the goat and not in a good way,
rather than the hero. So I'm just saying Stafford, I
know Detroit has been a bad organization, yes, till recently,
but those teams have some players, Calvin Johnson, you mentioned them,

(19:20):
the defense in Dominican Sue. They had some other nice
players and he could not get them over the hump.
I get that he throws a pretty ball and all that,
and you mentioned the stats and all that, but I
just look, maybe not even maybe had he been linked
up with a Sean McVay and the team like the

(19:42):
Rams early in his career, he's probably a no doubt
Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Yeah, no, I think he's a Hall just with two
Pro Bowls.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Man, that's gonna be That's gonna be tough. Those are
basically his only accolades. He was a Comeback Player of
the Year. Obviously he's won the Super Bowl, But I
mean the accolades are missing, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (20:07):
But the accolades may be missing, but the totality of
his numbers or not, he is eleventh all time and touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
I mean, we're in an era. I get that numbers matter.
I would never say numbers don't matter, but you also
realize we're in an era where the top ten quarterback
statistically are all gonna be from the modern era because
they throw the football more, the rules are different.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Is look at Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
Tom Brady, there's no way in his late or mid
early and mid forties he was as good as he
was in his thirties when he was winning that second
run of Super Bowls.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
But statistically it's some of his best.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Mostly statistically his best years came in his forties because
it's easier now to rack up big numbers, so you
do have to. I know he did it with Megatron,
and I'm not I'm not trying to say Stafford's not nice.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
I'm just saying, when you say he might be.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
A first ballot Hall of Famer, absolutely a second ballot
I think you gotta hold the phones on that, just
because the accolades aren't there. Yeah, the gaudy numbers are there,
but not much winning obviously, and not many again, not
many acol He's gonna finish top ten and passing yards
and passing touchdowns the list, Tom Brady Hall of Famer,

(21:33):
Breeze Hall of Famer, Manning Hall of Famer, far of
Hall of Famer, Roethlisberg or Hall of Famer, Philip Rivers
Hall of Famer, Dan Marino an Rockers. Rivers will see Yeah,
I think I think I thinks Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
He eventually gets it. We'll see.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
I mean, right now, he's not a Hall of Fame
Matt Ryan, I will say, we'll see about. But the
point I'm making is the company he's gonna be in,
they're all gonna be Hall of Famers.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
You just mentioned two dudes that aren't definitely Hall of Fame.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
I think Ryan is. On Philip Rivers, we agree on
Matt Ryan. We just disagree on Philip Rivers. Philip Rivers
a Hall of Famer quarterback, he will have a gold
jacket maybe.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
I mean, if Philip Rivers is not a no brainer
Hall of Famer, he's not. I disagree. I think he is.
I think it is if Dan Fault.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
Listen, if a guy like Dan Fouts is in a
Hall of Fame, you're telling me Philip Rivers is in
a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Yeah, Well, I'm not saying look, I'm saying Rivers is
not a Hall of Famer. I think he's right there
on the borderline. I'm telling you he's not a definite
Hall of Famer. He's not a guy you can like.
When we're Aaron Rodgers, we all know gonna be a
Hall of Famer. That that's not Philip Rivers. And I'm
not saying he's got to be as good as Rogers,
but he is not a sure fire, no brainer, hall of.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Famer top six and passes top six.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
I'm sorry, people understand VJ that the numbers are going
to be skewed. That's like looking at Terry Bradshaw's numbers
and saying he couldn't play, or Troy Aikman's numbers and
saying he couldn't play.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
It was a whole different air. I get it, but
I would never say that. I look, no but a
lot of.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
But I'm just saying, when you give me the top
ten all that he ain't gonna be top ten for
long because a lot of these dudes playing now are
gonna rack up better numbers now.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
It's gonna be hard, even in today's game with the
pass happy, it's gonna be hard for these guys to
reach seventy thousand. Mahomes is gonna do it, but it's
gonna be hard as hell for these guys to reach
seventy thousand yards. If you look at even guys that's
playing today, Russell Wilson's at forty three.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Russell Wilson's not getting the fifty k.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
Joe Flacco's at forty three thousand, He's not getting the
fifty k. You got guys like Car and Cousins, they're
both at thirty nine thousand.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
They're not getting the fifty k.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Car.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
But those dudes are a whole level below the guys
we're talking.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
No, but I'm saying even even if you bring me
a younger guy, you think Joe Burro's gonna throw for
seventy thousand yards, I don't.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Well, he don't stay.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
If he stayed, hell there, if there you go, if
it was an eighth, we'd all be high.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
So the if fact that note, let's in this set,
all right, we gonna keep it with the quarterbacks. Jalen hurts.
That's next, But first.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Chris Cock.

Speaker 5 (24:14):
Question for you, brother, before we move on Jameis Winston
And I mentioned this befins. You mentioned about Jamis Winston.
I throw a team at you guys, Minnesota with JJ
being out, Sam Donald is is some sauce. Okay, I've
been saying this for years. We use a sc I
didn't like him. If you're in Minnesota, you have weapons.
Now Hockinson is down, so that's that's very worse. But

(24:34):
you know Aaron Jones you're talking about justin Jefferson. I
mean they really got Jordan Addison, former blitnicof a winner
and Pitt before he transferred to at Sea. What about
a team like Minnesota taking a flyer on a guyle
Jamis to try to salvage this year because it's not
it's just Sam Darnold.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Now, I'll be open to trying.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
I think the thing with Donald and I agree with
I don't think he'll you know, pay out, but I
think they're looking at Look, he had a year under Shanahan.
Obviously O'Connell's from that tree, similar offenses, so I think
that was their attraction to Donald.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
But I I'm with you. I would try.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Look, I wouldn't be under any illusion that Jamis Winston
is You're gonna gonna lead us to some super city
season and maybe be our bridge quarterback before Well he
could be a bridge quarterback, I guess. But you know,
I'm not thinking he's gonna resurrect his career and be
a star.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
But sure I would.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
I would definitely look at him, bring him in and
see if he can battle with Donald for that starting
position at some point. You know, obviously he's coming in late.
But yeah, I like that. I like that, you know, Jamis.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
I was gonna say, Christian VJ. What about dez Ritter? Nah,
he's not a problem.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
No, that was a huge Okay, that was a huge miss.
That was a huge If you go back and put
the Cincinnati tape on, it's right there for you.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
It really, it really is.

Speaker 5 (26:05):
But in today's world, teams are pressured, whether people want
to make that, teams that that draft high. They're pressured
to take a quarterback this year because we can't look
into the class next year. If you like a guy,
now you gotta go look what Atlanta, did you give
a hundred million to Kirk, right, but obviously they really
did light Pinnix. So you go, you go get you

(26:26):
go get them. You don't wait till the class next year,
because you're gonna miss out. I think, yeah, Ritter was
a miss from the beginning.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
I do.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
I think Jamis Chris. I think he could come in.
I think he'll be better than what Darnold's gonna give them.
I just think with all that talent, with all that talent,
and think Aaron Jones, right, he's got a chip on
his shoulder. You think he wants to line up and
break a huddle and see fourteen standing in front of him.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
No, not, look I think they should do it. Yeah,
like I said, I'm just saying I'm not. I wouldn't
expect Jamis to, you know, light the world on fire,
but yeah, I would do it. Looks he's got some
leadership qualities. No players like him. He's a veteran now.
Obviously his decision making and turnovers have always been a
problem for him, but he was under Sean Payton, so

(27:09):
maybe learned some things from that.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
But yeah, I would definitely look at him for sure.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Just if I'm the Minnesota Vikas let me ask you
this about another quarterback in the NFBC Jalen Hurts. Hey,
the people are all over the place on him. Some
I think he's, you know, not that good. Had one
great season, but he's not gonna duplicate that. Others think
he's going I think he's gonna be in the MVP discussion.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
I don't think he's gonna win it.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
I think he'll have a very good year, bounce back year,
and be in the discussion.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Where are you at on Jalen? You think this will
be a bounce back year. I love you. I've always
loved Jalen Hurt.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
And they listen, if he didn't have the fumble scooping
score before the half in the Kansas City game, he's
got a super Bowl ring. I put that on him,
that that Philly loss. That was Yeah, it was on
him because other than that, that's why I can't say
he out he was great, but he didn't out play Mahone. Yeah,
because that which is just the unforced fumble cost him

(28:09):
to get cost them right before the have If you
just fall right there and go and go into the half,
they're gonna win that football game. And I put that
on him even though that's my guy. I think they
have a huge bounce back year for two reasons.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Whether people realize it or not.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
I don't dislike them as much as other people do,
but I can see what people saying about is Nick Sirianni.
I don't dislike them as much people as you know
other people do, but I see their point exactly. I
see their point. That's number one and reason number two
they bounce back. Mister Sakwan Barkley, you add that to
that offense. Basically they traded that for the running back

(28:44):
that went off to Chicago' sorry his name Swift? Yeah,
thank you Swift from Georgia. Who is gonna give them
so much? Dallas Goddard at the title possession, love Davontae Smith,
love AJ Brown.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
They they they have.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
A Dotson Yep, Dallas Goddard's good exactly.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
So I'm with you within that division.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
And remember we spoke yesterday is twenty years since a
team won back to back. So it's not gonna be
Dallas the wins the NFC East, it's not gonna be
the Commanders, and it's not gonna.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Be the Giants.

Speaker 5 (29:13):
So that leaves Philly to go ahead and take it
this year and last year too. People forget they started
off ten and one and we were talking about Philly as,
oh yeah, they're going back, they want to get back
to that super Bowl, and then things fell apart. Also,
he got hurt last year and we didn't know until
the end of the season, till the seasons over he played.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
Don't even know.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
I mean, I agree with you that I think and
I want to believe it.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
But he never confirmed that he was injured. No, you
know what I.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Mean, nobody's ever really said we There were rumblings obviously
he wasn't moving as well as usual at all. But
and I agree, I think he was injured, but we
just don't know. I mean, he never said it, nobody
else ever said it.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
We don't know.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
For he can't today as well, Chris, because what will
happen is people looked ready on TV and will say
he's making excuses. I agree with him not emitting it.
I probably wouldnt admit it. If I played pro sports
today and I was Jalen Words, I wouldn't admit it either.
Just say hey, look we didn't we didn't finish own it,
we didn't finish we didn't play well. It fell apart.
We're on to this year. But yeah, I was hurt.
You guys put the tape on. Do I look the

(30:17):
same to you? Okay, then that's why that's how I
would kind of deliver it. You said yourself, he wasn't
moving the same, man, It was like, what's up with
Jalen hurt? It's and then it affects your throws and
then aj Brown remember he got a little coookie towards
the end of the year. It just it fell apart
after starting ten and one last year. I think they
have a man.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
They were playing great, even if you remember the dialogue
when they were even ten and oh yeah, it was
always They even admitted they didn't think they were playing well.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Yeah, they should have lost the Buffalo game. Yeah, Buffalo
gave them. They weren't the same. It was a Super
Bowl hangover. That's that's true. Or and simple.

Speaker 11 (30:49):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
But yeah, I think you'll have a bounce back. Yeah.
I think Kellen Moore will help.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
Yeah, because you know, I mean they were Their offense
will be a lot more imaginative.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
They rarely threw over the middle.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
They had very little pre snap motion in their offense,
and they didn't give him the answers to the test,
but when the test was the Blitz, all right, and
he was bad against the Blitz. And I think Kellen
Moore will do that. So yeah, I expect the bounce
back a year from the I think they can win

(31:20):
thirteen games. Yeah, I think they can win thirteen games.

Speaker 5 (31:23):
No major guy goes down with you know, like an achilles,
or they have like the bulk of their team.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
I like that, and I think, like you said about Barkley,
I think he I think he can have a Christian
McCaffrey type impact. And I agree with you that McCaffrey's
the best running back in the league, but I think
Barkley can can do you know what McCaffrey did for
the Niners for the Eagles. I mean, Barkley has run

(31:49):
behind the one of the worst offensive lines in the
league for his entire.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Career, with no other quarterback.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
Or receivers that the defense had to pay attention to,
and he still did damage.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Now imagine him when you have to worry.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
About those receivers, and you have to worry about Dallas Goddard,
and you have to worry about Jalen maybe running and
now you you know you can't focus on Saquan, so
I think he's gonna do damage. All right, Trash Talking

Who you trashing?

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Gary?

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Welcome to the show, Brother and tell Us on trash
Talking Tuesday. Who you trashing?

Speaker 8 (33:25):
Playf half a no sissy bos? What's happened to him?
He was supposed to be the next great player. He
was right there with the very Mevedev looking like he's
gonna win the multi flame. He was up two sets
to love against Djokovic in the first of the final.
He had a great comebackgainst the dog gets throws open
even won the ACB final on twentineteen. And now he's
up posting his time and he's losing to what's the
random and isn't in the top ten rundown. His game

(33:46):
is addressing and he's just slowly wasting his talents.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
All right, yeah, wow, wow, you guys. You see Brightley.

Speaker 5 (33:53):
You should see Brian Finley right now that a tennis
guy called in to trash somebody at tennis man. Awesome
stuff right there, right right, Chris, tell us how you
really feel?

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Players? All right? Uh?

Speaker 5 (34:03):
Brian and tennessee he wants to trash Travis Kelp Chris.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
Dan for News makes the Moon. He kind of touched
it on earlier, but the Kelsey's getting one hundred million
for their podcast, What are you going to talk about?
All football? And maybe Taylor Swift? Chris and Rob. You
guys need to do an NFL sit out, get a contract,

(34:31):
expect because including including my favorite the NHL, what baseball
and basketball? You guys are great. He deserved one hundred million.
They don't.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Hey, I wish you would. I wish you might work
out that way, brother, believe me. Thank you for the love. Right,
Let's keep it moving. Thanks a lot, Brian, We appreciate you.

Speaker 5 (34:53):
Let's go out the Florida on the East Coast man
down in Orlando, Seawan?

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Who you trashing?

Speaker 7 (35:00):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (35:00):
What's up? Vija?

Speaker 8 (35:01):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (35:02):
Chris?

Speaker 8 (35:02):
Go out? Hear me?

Speaker 4 (35:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (35:03):
We get we got play what you got?

Speaker 11 (35:05):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (35:06):
All right?

Speaker 11 (35:07):
Yeah yeah, I'm trashing Neon Dion.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Man.

Speaker 11 (35:10):
This dude is a freaking frawd man when things are
going right. Ever since Florida State to ATM to Dallas
to San Francisco, he had no problem running his mouth
to hit my man in the face with the pie
after they won the World Series in Atlanta. Like every
single time when things are going well for him.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
He stayed running his mouth.

Speaker 11 (35:30):
And now that things are going back now you want
to act like a punk. This is ridiculous. Man, you
should be bigger than that.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
Deon.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
Thanks for taking a call, man, appreciate Wowea actually won
the pie? Was the cooler of ice and water that
he that he that he threw one new pie. But
I remember what he was talking about. You remember Chris
when he was playing for the Falcons and then playing Yeah,
and then getting on a private helicopter and then going
to play for the Falcons, was called being selfish? All right,
So let's go up to where Bruce hard is our
New Jersey Sun. Mitch out New Jersey Man. A couple

(36:00):
of trash talking Tuesday? Were you trashing brother.

Speaker 7 (36:04):
J Chris? Thanks recall I was sitting GM for the Chargers.
He should have may have moved for Brandon and Huger.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
They need their receiving.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Yeah, I like who they drafted.

Speaker 7 (36:18):
I like that you run back today boarding and bring
a little both the attached side of the coach. But
he should be anything that you still do it, And
I think chances will get less for us because they
waited too long.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
Did we lose him?

Speaker 5 (36:34):
Sounds like West We might have lost him. Man might
have lost him. But he was right though, that receiving
core could use some help. But I think Jimmy, I
think Jimmy gonna go more tight end. They're gonna bring
Herbert's passing attempts down and not just let him sling
it around. So got one more left here, Jason in
South Dakota. Jason Live on the couple right now, Christmas
r VJ bron Husky trash talking Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Who you trashing?

Speaker 12 (36:56):
Well, Okay, I want to say I love the show.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
I love Chris, but I got.

Speaker 12 (37:00):
Out of trash or take on Matt Stafford because before
I say anything, if I asked you, guys, what is
the biggest joke of an All Star game of any sport,
he would probably say the Pro Bowl watching And you
want to say he's not going to be a Hall
of Famer because he's had two Pro Bowl bids. The
Pro Bowl is a popularity contest where people vote in
and then when they go, they don't even play. I mean,

(37:21):
it's like flag football. Stafford is easily I think, a
first ballot Hall of Famer, even if he doesn't win
another ring.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
But I mean, look, I get it that the Pro
Bowl is terrible, but it is an honor and it
is something that people use to measure a player's effectiveness.
You know, Stafford has never been in All Pro and
I get it, that's hard to do. Brady was only
a three time first team All Pro. So but he's

(37:50):
got no accolades. There's no MVPs, no two Pro Bowls.
You know, he's got numbers, and he's got the one
Super Bowl. I'm not saying he's not gonna get in
the Hall of Fame. I'm just saying it's not sure fire,
and it's certainly not first ballot.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
But remember I purfase my pain by saying, if it's
not first ballot, fine, but second or third if that
doesn't happen. Okay, Now I'm scratching my head. He's but
he's in. He's a Hall of Fame because he's at
a Hall of Fame quarterback you know, career.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
All right, it'll be interesting, good stuff, yes, good stuff.
On trash. Now you said you were trashing.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
We only got ten seconds left, so but you were trashing, Josh,
I guess you did that earlier.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
I already did it. Brought you back to earth on
that all right, keep it locked
