Speaker 2 (00:24):
Let's get this, putties, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
It is The Odd Couple. I'm Chris, He's Rob.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
We're live from the tirerag dot com studios.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Tyrek dot com will help you get there.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
They've got an unmatched selection, fast reshipping, free road, has
a protection and more than ten thousand recommend to installers.
Tiereg dot com is the way Tirebine should be our
number two of a trash Talking Tuesday. Of course, that
means that at the bottom or in about thirty five minutes,
you'll be able to call in and anyone or anything

(01:03):
in the world of sports. You got thirty to forty
seconds to do so, Rob Parker, who you trashing?

Speaker 4 (01:11):
I'm gonna save it because it actually has to do
with the next topic.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Oh wow, mccafarlan, Okay, I'm clashing Booker.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
I got a boogie in my nose and I'm gonna
take care of it.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Wow, that's a little too much. Yeah, yeah, that's allry.
But let me set the tone and then you can
go off.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
But Florida State, for those really paying attention to college.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
For out of my Fire, out of the box, Rob,
they were ranked number ten in the preseason polls.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
They're expected to make the College Football Playoff obviously, they
are twelve teams that make it.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
They were number ten.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Uh And instead they have gone out and lost their
first two games to Georgia Tech, who they were ten
and a half favorites over, and Boston College, who they
were sixteen and a half point favorites over.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Even after losing.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
To Georgia Tech, and dounk Flutie didn't even play Chris,
you know, like, how in the world did they lose
to Boston College.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Well, and they remember, this was supposed to be a
big year for them because at quarterback they've got the
guy that at one time was the air apparent to
Trevor Lawrence down at Clemson.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
And you remember I remember even seeing him at Clemson,
dj Uga Laylee. I'm probably destroying his name, but dj
Uga Layley.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Everybody calls him DJU, but he Rob has been bad.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
There's just no if SAMs or butts about it.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
And Booger McFarlane after the game tweeted Booger McFarland, of course,
works for ESPN former.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Player in the league. He tweeted that, I'm just gonna
read it.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
If you are a coach and you hand pick a
mortal quarterback and he struggles bad, what do you do?
He doesn't have enough equity with his teammates to leave
him in, but you can't pull him, most likely because
of the NIL et cetera.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
What do you do? And Rob?

Speaker 1 (03:17):
They this is Dju's first year there in Florida State,
and he was paid. The estimates are around between six
seven hundred thousand dollars between three deals that the seminals
got him with the name, image likeness. So he's making
reportedly around six hundred seven hundred thousand dollars through the NIL.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
So Booger's point is.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Look, you're paying this dude.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
The collective through the alumni.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Put this deal together to get this guy to Florida State.
How do you bench him when you're you're paying him
this much money? That's basically what he's saying, so, what's
your take on this.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
I don't think it has anything to do with money.
I would just.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Think this is a way to add this in and
it sounds like a former player who might be a
little don't like the idea, Chris, that the kids are
getting paid. So let's point to him struggling and the
whole idea of money. People have struggled in college and
been replaced Chris. Was Jalen Hurts replaced? Yeah, but that

(04:27):
was before nil.

Speaker 5 (04:29):
No.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
But I'm just saying, but he still got My point
is that it doesn't matter whether there's money on the
table or not. And the idea that you really think
that these other kids before didn't get paid under the
table or we didn't know about it.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Yeah, okay, that that's a little different.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
I'm just saying, but there we get money, Chris, and
he's having a bad start to the career. I'm just saying,
it's not based on the portal or the nil money
or anything. This is what happens in sports. There are
people that it just doesn't pan out. It has nothing

(05:05):
to do with the money or the idea of him
moving on or going somewhere else. Is My point is
that This has happened before, where guys just don't work
out or things don't work out.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
And if we want to talk about money, how many.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
Times have we seen free agents go somewhere Chris right
with a new team right and sign a deal and
it doesn't work out they and they don't play well.
My point is that it has nothing to do with
if this was the old system and there was no
money involved or no portal or whatever he transferred. Before,
you had to sit out a year, right, that was
the only difference. Right, you were penalized. Now you get

(05:40):
to go right away, which is fair because coaches never
had to sit out. Coaches were allowed to go right away.
So I don't have any issue with it. I don't
know why so was was Caleb Williams went at USC
who got a gazillion dollars, was on every national TV
commercial that didn't affect him. Nobody brought up his money.
Why because they played well. I don't know where the

(06:01):
money comes.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
In as well.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
I feel like you're seeing it differently than Booger May
in my.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Opinion, because I think it sounds to me like you're saying.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
That you think Booker is saying, I should say that
DJU is not playing well because of the pressure of
making this money or whatever. And what to me, what
Booger is saying is that because dj is getting paid
so much, the coach is hesitant to take him out.

(06:37):
And to your point, with the NFL or even the NBA,
when money is involved, Rob, you know this, there are
business decisions made. And if a team goes out and
signs a free agent for a ton of money, they
they kind of got a play. Now, if you're just terrible,

(07:00):
at some point, you end up probably putting him on
the bench or cutting him or trading him or whatever.
But when a guy is making a boatload of money,
and this is in college terms, then there is a
pressure to play him. So I think I feel like
you're looking at it like the money is negatively impacting

(07:20):
Dju's playing. But I think what Booger is saying is no,
because he's getting so much money, the coach feels like
he has to play him.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Did that stop Russell Wilson from being benched last year
or not? And and he wasn't He played and they
ultimately cut him.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Okay, but they took what the biggest They took one
of the biggest hits against the sarary cap in the
history of the NFL, because they decided that they didn't care,
they were going.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
To move on.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
And my thing is just I don't think if a
guy plays poorly, Chris, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
The school didn't pay the money. The school didn't even
pay the money. Is the boosters how the.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Schools put together the collectives nobody they're boosters of the
school and then they put you know, it's it's it's
very similar to rob to what it used to be.
Like it's just over the right, you know, over overboard
or over the.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
Over table, under the table right Like we're just saying
we don't know what the money was, Christ it probably
as large as it is now. But but people were
getting paid. That's like this whole notion.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
I agree with your point in that that point in
that Yeah, God, like even let's say Jalen Hurts. You
brought up that example if he was getting and I
don't know if he was you know, you know what
I'm saying, it was one of those guys that didn't
take the money. But let's say he was getting five
three hundred thousand dollars, would they have benching You're right,

(08:51):
he's still getting paid in that situation.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Maybe two at that point wasn't. But I think Booger
makes it And I don't know the answer, Rob.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
I don't know if that's stopping the coaches or if
they think about that, but I can see how it would.
I can see how Look, we spent six hundred thousand
dollars to get this guy here and he's not getting
it done. I mean, I think at some point you
would bench him several games into the season or whatever.

(09:22):
But I do see the pressure of hey, we did
bring this guy in, we're paying him, we got to
play him.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
The guy behind him is not making anything, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
I just I And again I don't know how they're
doing it there at Florida State, but I do see
how that can become a part of the equation and
make some tough decisions for some coaches. And you know,
I agree with the kids getting paid. But I'm just
saying I see what Booger's saying. He wasn't saying. He
was just throwing it out there, like what do you

(09:53):
do it? He is kind of throwing it out as
a question himself. Is the coach does the coach phel
pressure to have to play this guy.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Yeah. But the idea.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Of Chris that like this is new is where I'm
pushing back.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
I don't believe it's new.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
I think boosters have put money together in the past
for players and we just don't know the money, Chris.
I mean, we didn't know the money, so so so
you don't have that conversation on whether or not somebody
should be benched or not or replaced or whatever. Guys
have been replaced big time players, and Jalen Hurts is
a great example of that, and he went on to

(10:37):
do well and get to the NFL and then go
to the Super Bowl and all that. So my only
point is it sounds to me like, oh see, you
open up a can of worms by paying these kids. Now,
look now, what are you gonna do? And all this
other stuff. I just I don't think that the money

(10:58):
part of it. If a guy I isn't gonna it
doesn't play well, Chris, regardless of money or what money
was put in the lure him there or whatever, You're
not gonna throw your whole season away and play a
guy who's played poorly.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
I don't believe money is going to be a factor. Ultimately,
if he's playing that poorly, I just don't. I don't
think anybody. There's a lot of other people at stake,
the coach's job, the the the athletic director, Chris, all
the other coaches, all the players. There's a lot of
people involved that you gotta sit there and play a

(11:34):
guy because he got some money and he's playing terrible.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
I just don't think. So I will say this, and
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Maybe some situations it will be a factor, others it won't.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
What I will say is this, it shouldn't okay.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
If you're a head coach and yeah, well okay, let's
say we paid a million dollars to get this guy
and he's just not getting it done. You still have
to make the right car and you probably need to. Honestly,
you need to let the boosters know going in.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
Look, you guys are helping us out. It's great. We
think this guy is gonna be fantastic.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
But I'm gonna coach him and if he if he
doesn't pan out and I have to bench him, I'm
doing it. Like as a head coach, you have got
to maintain control of your team, because.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
We talk about it all the time, Rob.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
If the players see this guy is not good, they
see the backup is much better. And you're sticking with
this guy, you lose your team. They're not getting six
hundred thousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
And the players know who belongs out there, Chris, We
talk about it all the time. You can't fool of players, right,
theyse your team.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
And and you made a good point, like at the
end of the day, if what your jobs on the line.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Say that, like, oh no, I'm gotta play this kid out.
We gave him a million dollars. What and we're now
zero to five? Right, You know how quickly the alumni
will turn on you, Chris as a head football coach.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
No question. And you're right, Like, at the end of
the day, these guys that.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Give all this money, these alums, I mean, they got
money to burn, right, all right, And so you think
they want to go to the game, Chris win. You
think they want to go to the games and the
suites and all that and spend money and have a
bad program. No, right, And if you're winning, if you
bench the high priced guy and you're winning because you

(13:34):
benched him, they're gonna be fine. And so I like
I do see the pressure that it could put on coaches.
But you have to coach your team because your job,
your career is on the line, and so you better
maintain control of that team.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Let's start it out to the listeners.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Rob eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Booger McFarland
throws it out there that the nil deals could really
make it tough on coaches to make some decisions with players,
to play them or not to play them, to bench
him or not to bench him.

tough decisions for head coaches.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
If a player making.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
A lot of money off an NIL deal is not
playing well, can you benching your thoughts?

Speaker 4 (15:55):
I'm wiping that booger off my nose. Justin See Nothing
and Wisconsin. You're the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
What's up Justin?

Speaker 8 (16:06):
Hey, howdy guy, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yes, I think you can let that.

Speaker 8 (16:10):
Booger off, you know, and do it because I think
the only coaches who will not have a spine are
gonna be when they have a player that perhaps is related,
uh you know, to them, very closely associated a very
famous player's son, or they are at the hit with

(16:31):
that player. I think that's gonna be where a coach
will go down with the player. That's the only case
any other coach, any other kind of player coach watches job.
Still you want to He's got to win.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
Right, That's why that's why the nil stuff talk I
just don't buy into. I just don't think a coach
is going to be like, oh, well he's making a
million dollars, I can't bench him.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
What.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yeah, you can't let what Chris run you. I mean,
no matter how much money they're donating. I mean, you
doesn't matter get fired.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
You're trying to please the Boost, no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
Frank in North Carolina, you're on the yard couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
What's up, Frank.

Speaker 9 (17:11):
Yoh, what's up?

Speaker 10 (17:12):
Rob?

Speaker 3 (17:12):
How are you? Man?

Speaker 9 (17:14):
I'm good, I'm good.

Speaker 10 (17:15):
How were y'all?

Speaker 3 (17:16):
We're great, We're great, good good.

Speaker 8 (17:19):
Hey.

Speaker 9 (17:20):
He should have been benched about third quarter or fourth quarter.

Speaker 11 (17:22):
It was usly.

Speaker 9 (17:23):
I don't care how much you're getting paid.

Speaker 11 (17:24):
I get it.

Speaker 9 (17:25):
Money's on the table, the money on the floor. But
he should have been benched last night.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
It was us So do you think he wasn't because
of the money.

Speaker 9 (17:34):
I think that plays a part when you're getting that
kind of money six figures in college. I get it now,
n I l but he should have been benched. It
was ugly out there last night.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Now he's no, there's no doubt the first two games
are bad. But but I'm just saying they're going to
give him another chance out there, Chris, and see if
he can, you know, turn it around. The season is
not lost. This is a different college football. Well that's
probably now that's the other thing. Why yeah, I mean
why right?

Speaker 1 (18:03):
If you got a back up two losses, Chris, you
and your season's over.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
You know in the old everybody's making the postseason. Well,
now you're gonna be four lost team. You're gonna have
four loss teams. No, No, yes, three or four.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
It's only twelve, Rob, It's not fifty spots in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
It's twelve. If you're a big program, Chris, they'll make
a spot for you.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
I'm just saying that I don't see that, but they
But to your point, their season is not over. They're
owing to It looks bad, but if they were to
run the table, they still have a shot. And if
they do have a backup that's looking better than him.
I doubt they do, but if you did, you'd have
to you have to think seriously about playing him now.

(18:46):
And you're right, DJ, you maybe it'll come around and
you know, get itself together because he does have talent.
But you know, this is the decision that they have
to make. So eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
if you want to weigh in on this situation.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Also, you can start lining up Chris as well for
trash Talking Tuesday, which is coming up.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Very soon.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Absolutely, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. You'll have
thirty to forty seconds to trash anyone or anything in
the entire world of sports. So hit us up here
at the Eyd Couple if you want to do that.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
And so you're trashing booger McFarland ron.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Yeah, I just I think that was just a knee
jerk reaction to blame the money rather than just saying
that people struggle. If we didn't know how much money
he was making, it would just be a question of Chris, how.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Long of a lease do you give him? Do you
know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (19:43):
And then we throw the money in. That's That's all
I'm saying, is like, that's the big thing is like, see,
this is why you shouldn't Like he didn't say it,
but you get a lot of people saying, Chris, like
the feeling is that's why you shouldn't pay these kids,
you know, like maybe they're not gonna be good or
maybe even you know, the coach, you're gonna be afraid
to Benjamin or whatever. No, it's okay to pay them.

(20:04):
They were getting paid before Booker. I hate to break
it to you, they were those he knows.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
That's why I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
You acting like it's his brand new, Chris, This ain't
brand new.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Sorry, is above board and it might you would assume
it's more now.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
Oh yeah, no, money money's bigger than everything, Chris. But
back then when those college kids were getting money. You know,
I was told at Michigan what they played basketball Chris.
After games, you know, you would go and grab your
sneakers or whatever, and there were a couple hundred dollar
bills in your sneakers when you put them on.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
You know what I mean. Like that's how they used
to take care of the kids. Yep, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
All right, Uh, it's the Eye Couple again. Get lined
up for trash talking Tuesday. You'll get thirty to forty
seconds trash anyone or anything in the world of sports.

That is expresspros dot Com. All right, Rob up, you
said it earlier. You were out on the Buffalo Bills.
Do you have them missing the playoffs this year?

Speaker 4 (21:29):
I don't know if they'll miss the playoffs, but winning
the division I'm not confident, Chris, I don't know. You
remember last year before they ran off that the what
did they run off the last six game?

Speaker 1 (21:39):
Doing five straight as they attend the regular season, remember
how bad they were at that point. I really thought
that they were no good there and then they just
did a lot of house cleaning. It's not the same team.
Can we got same quarterback, but it ain't the same team.
What I'll say is this, I've got them making the playoffs.
I don't I think they're a legitimate Super Bowl content anymore.

(22:04):
Right Like, they can make the playoffs, but I don't
think they've got a very good chance of advancing you
know deep or even you know, getting to the super
Bowl for sure. But anyway, one of the big changes
you said they cleaned house was Stefon Diggs and he
was traded to the Houston Texans.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
And now we'll be there with CJ.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Stroud, And that's a team that a lot of people
are expecting big things from.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Had a great year last year with CJ.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Stroud in his rookie season, and some people even have
them going to the super Bowl. But Stefan Diggs is interesting.
Their rob Now he spoke with GQ magazine. They did
a big feature on him, and here's what he said
about Buffalo, because remember he's had problems Rob in Minnesota,

(22:52):
which is how he ended up in Buffalo, and then
now in Buffalo, which is how he ended up in Houston.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
And here's what he said.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Last year, I was in the worst mental space I've
been in since I've been in the league. If I'm
not in a good space, obviously that's not the best
for me. So that's when things had to start shaking out.
None of those teams, Buffalo or Minnesota wanted to get
rid of me. Things had to shake because I kind
of wanted them to shake. Here's where I'm going, Rob

(23:22):
and I to find Diggs is still a very good receiver.
I don't think he's what he was a few years ago,
but he's still very good. And he was good, my goodness,
well he was fantastic, no doubt about it. One of
the best in the league. But he you know, we
saw the histrionics on the sidelines with Josh Allen, how
he clearly wasn't happy, and you know, it just was

(23:44):
a bad situation. Remember before last season, there was a
lot of weirdness going on. With him and the Bills
in training campings all that. I wonder Rob how he's
going to handle his situation, because remember he just redid
his contract with Houston, so he's on a one year deal.

(24:06):
He will be a free agent next year. He's thirty
years old. I believe it might might even be thirty one.
But this is going to probably be his last chance
at like a big contract, and heck it could be
his last.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Contract period next year.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
But certainly if he can get a big one, it'll
be his last chance to the big one. He'll turn
thirty one in November. Rob, And so this is what
I'm wondering. If Stefan Diggs becomes their third option, and
you know, teams don't name you know a guy, this
is this first option, this is second option, this third

(24:44):
option we kind of know. But Nicocollins is a very
good wide receiver. Tank Dell, who got hurt last year,
is a very good wide receiver.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
It is on the board.

Speaker 12 (24:58):
Rob.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
That's if the fine Diggs at thirty one years old,
will be the third option.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
And my question is this, if he is indeed that third.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Option after four years in Buffalo where he was the
second most targeted guy in the league behind Devonte Adams.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
He wasn't happy.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
There is he going to be happy if he's the third,
maybe even second option in Houston knowing he wants a big.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Contract after this season.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
That's something that you got we have to watch because
I don't know how that's gonna work out.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Yeah, I can see how that could be an issue, Chris,
but he also has to be careful that he doesn't
cause any issues because if you do that, that's going
to sour people on you as a whole because of
your pack reed, right, So you gotta be careful not
to rub people the wrong way. Ma how people feel

(25:56):
a certain way about you. You want to go out
there and just play, stay healthy, Chris, be productive when
they throw the ball your way, and then that then
then you can show people I can still play.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Like seriously, it's about that.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
No one's gonna be nobody's gonna expect you don't look
at it like, well he didn't get the ball throw tall.
He wasn't targeted twelve times a game. If I'm targeted
five times Chris and I make four catches, you know
what I mean? Like, and I'm not dropping balls and
I'm not doing what else. That's what I was targeted.
I mean, like that's.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
I agree that he asks every reason in the world
to be a good soldier.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
But Kenny, and I'm not saying he's a bad guy.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
I'm just saying he clearly can sometimes let his emotions
get the best of him. And if he does that thing,
you're right like he's gonna have the battle of I
gotta be on my best behavior because I want whether
it's Houston or some other team, I want them to
sign me, give me money next season. That battle versus man,

(27:06):
I only caught you know, three balls last game, and
I'm trying to get a big him.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
I see what these receivers are getting.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Not that he expects to get thirty five million a year,
but I want I want a nice chunk and I'm
not gonna get that with two or three catches a game.
So that's going to be the battle that's going through
his mind, and he's gonna have to win it because
this is a team with high expectations and rob Let's

(27:35):
face it, Buffalo turned it season around. You mentioned how
much they were struggling. They turned their season around when
they stopped focusing on getting the ball just to find dicks.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
They did.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Like the last five games, Rob, he averaged like forty
yards a game catching and they now Josh out and Josh.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
They didn't throw the ball as much.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
No, and Josh's numbers were not good in those five games.
He had five touchdowns passing five interceptions, but they were
just winning. He didn't throw for a lot of yards
in those games either. One game he did, but the
other four he didn't. And so I think that's what
Buffalo's looking at.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Like, Look, we.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Got two good tight ends, We've got a running game,
we got a quarterback that can run. They gonna do,
I think, more ball control offense. And you know their defense,
Searan mcderm is a good defensive coach, so I think
they'll still be a solid defensive team. But it's gonna
be interesting to see how it works out in both cases.

(28:39):
And one thing about CJ. Stroud Rob, he'll hit the
open man. I don't think he's gonna favor anybody in particular.
He will hit the open man, and that's what he
should do, especially when you got three good receivers. So
maybe Diggs has a big gear. I'm not saying that's
out of the question. I'm just saying if he doesn't,

(29:01):
and if he's a second or third option, he's gonna
have to still be a good soldier and not let
his emotions get the best of him.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting just how it plays out. Chris.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
I think he'll be a smarter Chris, because there could
be a team if he plays well. When the ball's
thrown his way, who could still look at him? Yeah,
he's not washed up. So I just think you gotta
be very delicate. The last thing you want to be
is a distraction.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
All right.

Speaker 1 (29:32):

Speaker 3 (30:47):
It's your teeth, Regy. I don't know whether to smile.
That's you kick a field goal man.

Speaker 4 (30:53):
All right, Chris, here we go. Let's kick it off.
Fernando in Las Vegas. You're on the couple Fox puts
for who you trashing, Fernando.

Speaker 13 (31:03):
I'm trusting I'm trashing Cathany Gregonio and Jason Fitz. Those
two guys are the worst on radio. Gregonio thinks he's
an NFL coach. He didn't know nothing. Hey, Jason, take
the fiddle and go write some losing songs for your
Las Vegas staters.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Man Gargo of course, friend of the show. Yes, he
was all, let we let him do their thing on trash.
You can't say anything, Chris, keep on us. That's right
Justin in New Mexico. You're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. Who you're trashing?

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Justin?

Speaker 14 (31:38):
What's up, fellas?

Speaker 3 (31:40):
How are you up doing?

Speaker 14 (31:42):
Good man? First off, let me just say real quick, Chris,
we're gonna miss you on the show man. Good lucks
all your endeavors. Thank you boys, thank you killing it,
Thank you man. I got a trash talf Florida State.

Speaker 13 (31:54):
Man.

Speaker 14 (31:54):
They cried enough peers when they didn't make that playoff
last year to fill up the Mississippi River. Did they
got the ass? But George and the Orange Bowl didn't.
What they do out the gate this year played two
eggs against acc opponents.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Man, come on, there you go, no doubt appreciate that.
Thanks Justina. How about Innis in Corona, California. You're on
the couple of Fox Sports Radio. Oh your Trason Innes.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
I was gonna trash Chris, But you know, Chris, good
luck in your future endeavors. You know, family's important. That's
why you know I moved from California, New York to California.
But anyway, I'm trashing Gilbert Arenez. This guy has a
goal to.

Speaker 15 (32:37):
Say, oh MJ.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
He called Ron Harper twenty point per game score to
join the Bulls and Dennis Rahman. When Ron Harper joined
the Bulls, Jordan was still playing baseball. And for him
to go back and say, why are we blaming Lebron?
You know why because Lebron in two thousand and six
colluded with his banana boat buddies all become free agents
in twenty ten to join the other Why because he

(33:01):
always needs a stack neck to try to win. And
what did he do? He couldn't even beat Jason Terry
and JJ Barrea. They had him. His head was on
a sway. It wasn't even HONESTI but he just kept
spinning in circles.

Speaker 11 (33:12):
He couldn't keep up with them.

Speaker 5 (33:13):
Lebron is he always needs to stack deck to win.
Arenas he needs to get checked on his podcast.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
There you go. Arena's got some takes.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
I'll say that, man, he he every I'm always seeing
his takes.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
Yeah. He ripping me like Chris. He ripped me for
like two weeks or something in a row. Was it
that long? I know he ripped you for something. I
can't remember what point. I never missed. Gilbert Arena's podcast.
I never listened to it, so I never miss it. Uh,
Pete in New Mexico, you're on the couple of Fox Bortuatio.
Who you tragian? Pete?

Speaker 14 (33:46):
Oh Man.

Speaker 11 (33:47):
I hate to say it, but I gotta trash your
fellow Fox Sports associate Peter Schrager for picking the Jaguars
to beat detections for the division. Not only that, but
then he's got the Bills in over the Texans coming
this year in the playoffs. I couldn't believe he did
that today.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
So he's got the Texans not making the playoffs or just.

Speaker 11 (34:09):
Getting in the making the playoffs, everything they've done.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
I'm sure you noticed Schrager. Isn't he like he's like
incredible with his predictions. You picked like five straight Super
Bowl winners or something like that.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
Something crazy. Yeah, But he doesn't.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
He's just you know what, I give him credit, Chris,
because you could just pick the the the what's to
be expected on the favorites all the time, and and
I don't think he does that.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
I think he was been right, Like I don't know
if he was right last year or not, but I
know he had both super team Super Bowl teams for
a few years and uh so, yeah, he's pretty good.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
I mean, and the thing the thing with I'm just
gonna say the thing. The thing with Houston is that
was one year, Chris. You know, Ken young quarterback, young coach.
Everybody has film now tape. It could just be a
different season. You don't know that. That's that's a big difference.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
I like him a lot, but yeah, we'll have to
let this thing play out. It's as simple as that.
Because we see Rod, we see surprises every year in
the inn.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
Every year, no doubt. Will and Wisconsin. You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. Who you Trash and Will?

Speaker 10 (35:20):
What's up, Chris Man, Thanks for taking the call, guys, sir,
they's the kind of easy one there for me on
Trash and Joe Shane. Uh here is that we're nearing
the start of the season and at no part of
this off season endeavor. It's not just the stuff that
we see on TV, right, It's just a real reality
that they let a major he allowed a major asset
to the team, someone that ownership had, you know, expressed

(35:44):
some some esteem for to go right to uh you know,
a major asset go to a division rival not only that,
under his watch he has allowed even a team like
the Commanders in his own division to basically outshine him
and acquisitions outshine outshine him and putting his team in

(36:06):
a better position to win through being active. So I'm
not sure what the Marra family is going to do
with that, but there there, there couldn't be a work
of a person that I cash here and some store
turning off the day with their full burning.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
In the well.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
H your phone, yeah, Errol in South Dakota. You're in
the couple of Fox Sports. Waity, who are you trashing? Errol?

Speaker 14 (36:32):
Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 15 (36:34):
I'm trashing uh, Jeannie buss Lebron James and the Lakers
front office. And the famous words is stephen A.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Smith.

Speaker 15 (36:42):
We've been bamboozled.

Speaker 14 (36:45):
And we can't I get calmed down.

Speaker 15 (36:47):
Proclaiming the Mickey Mouse Ring in twenty twenty in the Bubble,
enough is enough. Kobe would be upset with how this
franchise has been running over the last ten twelve years.
I mean, they've become the circus in town.

Speaker 12 (37:01):
All right, there, you go appreciate that, yep, yep, yeah,
So we got an hour left here tonight, on this
trash talking Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
So keep it locked here on Fox Sports Radio, v
iHeartRadio app or Serious XM Channel eighty three.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
And now I was gonna say, Chris, coming up an
hour number three to you, waiting to hear your take
on Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. We're finally
going to see him play. Can't happen what we saw
last year, which was mind boggling four snaps? No, I
just can't it just not even got hurt. Yeah, it
would be just it would be unbelievable. And a lot

(37:43):
is riding on the Jets and the coach and the GM,
and you know what I mean, there's a lot of
stuff there. This is a disaster, Chris. Some heads are
going to roll, no.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Doubt about it, no doubt, no question about that. All Right,
it's the odd couple again. Keep it locked, one more
hour left. We're here on Fox Sports Radio, the iHeartRadio
app or Sirius XM channel eighty three. However you may
be listening how much pressure is on the great Aaron
Rodgers in New York.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
Keep it locked
