Speaker 1 (00:55):
He'll join us at the bottom of the hour, as
he does every Worship.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Wednesday, to talk some MLB.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
But Rob, right now, it's football season about to start tomorrow,
so let's stick with the NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
And uh interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
You know Cleveland's an interesting then there are a lot
of interesting teams. Cleveland last year made the playoffs. Great defense,
probably the best defensive player in the league, in Miles
Garrett uh run game is usually legit. I think Kevin
Stefanski is a good coach. They got Amari Cooper is
(01:31):
a receiver. That added Jerry Judy like David and Joko
tighty like. They got some talent. But the big question
and one reason I'm leaving them out of the playoffs
is what about this Shawan Watson. To me, that is
(01:51):
the only question in Cleveland. Rob, if he could get
back to eighty.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Five percent good luck of what he was, then I.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Think he could.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
You know, they could maybe be dangerous, but he has
been He's just been downright bad. And I know they
went five and won with him last year, but he
didn't play.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
It was darn near.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
It was basically in spite of him. And here's he
was asked Rob whether he considers himself still to be
one of the league's elite quarterbacks. And simple answer he gave,
of course, no doubt.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
He's only turns twenty nine in a week and a
half next Saturday. I mean, he's not too old to
get it back in theory. But what are your thoughts
on him saying and thinking he's still elite or even
being elite?
Speaker 4 (02:47):
I mean I'm not surprised.
Speaker 6 (02:50):
I like he should think. I hope he really thinks that.
I mean, what is he gonna say? No, I'm chop liver,
you know what I mean? Chris like washed, I'm washed.
You see this rag here, I'm washed. So we know
that people are never going to say that. But no,
(03:10):
he's not a lead and he hasn't been a lead.
And I think that sometimes you look at people Chris
and you think they can go away from a game
at this level for a couple of years and come
back and everything's good, Like we just let me just
pick up where I left off.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Something is missing, Okay, it's very obvious, and I don't know.
I don't know what it is.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
If it's the Russ factor that you know what I mean, Chris,
that he missed so much action, the confidence level and
then the injuries.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
So there's a there's there's a trifecta there of things.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Well, remember he sat out and look, I think most
people feel like he is guilty of you know, the
sexual assault. It's just too much. It's just it's just
too much. I mean, it's a lot of I don't
even remember how many women.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
Rob Geneuz sixty or something, or like how many women
that were involved in that thing.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
It wasn't like it was Chris, it was one or two.
Speaker 6 (04:12):
And it's like he said, she said, like like you
could you could like put your head and say, well,
maybe they just didn't.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
You never know.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Okay, But when that many women come forward and then
all the social media evidence that they had that he
had made contact with these women, he had flown the man.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
They're just overwhelming evidence.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
And you know this, Rob, I know you've talked to guys.
It's surprising how many guys are siding with him on that.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Right. So I'm gonna.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Say whether you think he did it or not, but.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
He first of all, all of.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
This he brought on himself, thank you, and he was
doing it. Let me say this, I don't mean he did.
And even bigger Chris, from this standpoint, if you knew
you were involved in that, Chris, and you have all
of the DMS and you like.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
All that stuff is there.
Speaker 6 (05:08):
Had he settled with the first woman, Chris, there's no story.
And the other women don't come out of the woodworks
because they say, well that happened to me too, do
you under That's how important, That's how important. If you
knew that you were involved in that stuff, you could
have easily and I'm just saying from a business standpoint
(05:28):
in not ruining your life.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Now, did you lose your reputation? Chris?
Speaker 6 (05:34):
All the sponsors that he had, this guy was there
was a sponsor machine. And then all the money he
had to pay for lawyers he had, like one of
the biggest women. That guy's named Rusty, Yeah, Rusty Harden Chris,
who's a big time lawyer, you know, much money. So
he lost endorsements and then they had to pay a
big time lawyer. All I'm saying is he did bring
(05:56):
this upon himself. Well, first of all with the actions.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
And secondly, remember and it began and look, there are
people out there that think the Texans once he shunned them,
that they, you know, got this stuff going.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
I don't know all that.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
But remember when he was like, I'm not playing for
the Texans and sat out an entire year, Rob, and
then all this stuff started coming out and Cleveland, desperate
as they were, give him this huge deal. He's only
played twelve games for the Browns in two years, so
he is rusty, I guess. But the problem Rob, you
(06:38):
and look, I get it. And Houston was a bad organization, right,
not no bad? They made the playoffs, right, he was
making the playoffs with him three what three straight years.
Speaker 6 (06:47):
When they signed that deal, Like that's that's the issue
that I had. He had a chance, he had a
chance to get out of there if it was so bad,
like he he didn't have to sign that.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
He signed a deal for like one hundred and sixty.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
And they made the play playoffs two years.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
But you and I always say this, right, so you're right,
first of all, you signed the deal, and I get
you want the money. But still you and I say
this all the time. We said it about Joe Burrow,
and we can say it about Steve C. J. Stroud
who went to the same woe be Gone organization at Deshonne.
If you are that guy and DeShawn was that guy,
(07:25):
you can turn.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
A franchise around. Joe Burrow did it with the Brown.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Remember when everybody was telling Joe.
Speaker 6 (07:32):
Burrow don't go there, don't he should should, don't go
to the We were like, he's from Ohio, and if
you're gonna beat that guy, you go there, and you beat.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
It the guy.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
You make him back good and that's what they they
those two guys did, and DeShawn quite frankly, Rob was
doing that with the Texans. They were making the playoffs
with him there. But now here's what I wonder, Rob,
And I don't know the answer. I wonder because you
said it, Deshaun Watson. He was not just he was
(08:03):
not like a non descript star where everybody star, but
nobody knew about what he was like as a person.
Every his character was thought to be unimpeachable. Damosweeney said
he was Michael Jordan.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
He was.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
He was viewed as, you know, a religious guy and
like community service and all that.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Like he had a pristine reputation.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
And I wonder, Rob, And again I don't know if
this is the truth, but I just wonder, does the
collapse of his public persona has that did that rock
him so much mentally that he just can't recover Because
you know, Rob, everywhere you go, and there's a few
(08:53):
guys out there, like we said that that are with him.
But you know, when you walk into a room, when
you walk into a press conference, when you walk into
a restaurant.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
People are looking at you.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
I'm just gonna keep it real, like you're preferred it,
and that I wonder has that messed up his psyche
so much that he just can't play at the level
that he used to.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
And I do want to remind people Chris. Back in
twenty twenty with the Texans, Watson led the NFL in
passing Chris four eight twenty three yards and was named
to the Pro Bowl for the third time in four years.
That's how that's where he was pinnacle right since joining
the Browns, Watson's forty one point nine quarter QBR Chris
(09:42):
six lowest in the NFL. That's where he is. That
that was twenty twenty and now six lowest QBR in
the NFL. And you might be on the something because
he did take a public hit on his h what's
the right his image?
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:01):
His image here?
Speaker 6 (10:02):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that that is a that's a blow,
and people look at you differently because of what people
thought you were, Chris. It's not like they didn't know
or you weren't attached to anything. You were attached to
good if you were Dennis, right, it wouldn't have been okay,
all right, or you know, then they pulled the curtains back,
(10:24):
you know what I mean? Okay, so I'm not shocked
by it, but de Shaun Watson, I think people were shocked.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, And I look, if that is the case, and
he he should have it seems like he should have
been getting therapy anyway. And I would imagine he's had
some therapy. I think he's certainly talked about talking to counters.
I don't know if it was more in relation to,
you know, just his legal issues or whatever, but you know,
(10:53):
you would think he'd tried to talk to somebody to
get over.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Whether it's that what I described.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
There seems to be some type of mental block there though,
because you're talking about a guy.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
He's only twenty he's not even twenty nine.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Yet, right, he should be able to get it back,
at least physically.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
And so if it's a mental issue, go talk to some.
Speaker 6 (11:14):
People, right, and especially now it's a couple of years now,
It's not like we got it the first time. He
was still suspended, Chris, he missed time, you know, and
trying to get acclimated, so you you kind of gave
him a pass on that. Last year, had a full
off season, right and then training camp, so everybody thought, okay,
like he should be acclimated now and that didn't happen.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
But I still to.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
This day, I just wonder, does he sit up looking
at the ceiling, you know, at night, saying why didn't
I pay that one hundred thousand.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Dollars or whatever it was?
Speaker 6 (11:47):
Seriously like that was that was one of those tactical
errors that cost him. I just cannot get over it.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
And well, you know, Rob we I mean, we've covered
that athletes for decades and I you almost can't blame him.
Sometimes you can think you're teftline. I mean you you
you got all the money in the world. Everybody ponds
over you. Everybody does whatever you want them to do.
Remember it came out that the Texans were, you know,
(12:19):
he was getting these hotel rooms for his massages, and
the Texans were, you know, involved in that. Like people
are doing whatever you want them to do, and you're
and Rob, look for all the women that came out
again speculation, my guess is that some of the women
he hit on, not not necessarily the ones that came
(12:40):
out and accused him, but some of them he got
what he wanted, or he wouldn't have kept doing it.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
I don't think no, no, right, and it was it
wasn't too. We're not talking about two or three women,
We're talking about a ton.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
So you you start thinking you can get a you know, man,
this won't stick.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
I'm just right. Uh, well, there's no way.
Speaker 6 (13:02):
But boy did they underestimate when you have to go
shell out the money he shelled out for the Chris
When you got to fight these A lot of people
set a lot of court because of what the expense is.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
Like.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
It's not that you you think you couldn't win a case,
or maybe it's not as bad as they make it
out to be, but what it'll cost you?
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Is it worth it? Right now? You're right? Had he
paid had he paid it?
Speaker 6 (13:30):
You know, because didn't it happened? Didn't happen to Bill
Cosby too? Wasn't it like? There was one person and
a lot.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
I think by the end it was like sixty was
it sixty women with Bill Cosby?
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Something was a lot that ended up coming out well.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
But and then remember that the judge unsealed one of
those things where he paid off a woman and admitted
that he had drugged or something. You remember that, like
there was unsealed, there was supposed to be sealed, and
it became unsealed crazy.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox You'll
turned away. Do you think Deshaun Watson can bounce back
and be I mean, we'll say elite because that was
the question he was asked. But hey, just a really
good quarterback even if he's not elite again. But do
you think he can return to his old form?
Speaker 4 (14:17):

Speaker 4 (15:32):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
On Fox, Deshaun Watson says he's still elite.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Of course. I am your thoughts, all right?
Speaker 6 (15:41):
Uh, Caleb in Jacksonville, you're in the Odd Couple, Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
What's up, Caleb?
Speaker 8 (15:47):
Hey, how's it go?
Speaker 9 (15:48):
I appreciate the call, Yes, sir, Hey, so I'm in Jacksonville.
So watch watch them Deshaun. While he was with Houston,
and my take is that he was always good, but
never great. So even his best year, you know that
last year before the whole fiasco, I think he only
won five or six games, you know.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Like last year.
Speaker 9 (16:10):
Yeah, you know, I've sat through you know, some Blake
Bortles games, or he put up big yards and he
had you know, he had a good Pro Bowl season
one year, and you know it doesn't really approve much.
So uh, that's always been kind of my thought on
DeShawn So, you know, not that I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
I don't know if gordles I mean two years, remember
he did lead him to the playoffs two years, and
his numbers were legit. I mean that year they only
won four games, but he had thirty three touchdown, seven picks,
and his passer rating was won twelve.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
I mean almost through for five thousand yards.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
I get it that yards isn't always, you know, the
greatest measure, but that was a heck of a season statistically,
and in the other years he was pretty good when
they made the playoffs two routes.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Yeah, no doubt. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (16:57):
We can't like pick apart his career, nack like, he's
no good, you know what I mean, I just can't.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
I can't do it.
Speaker 6 (17:05):
Let's go to Shaq. Shaq is in Richmond, Virginia. Of
course you're on the couple of Fox Sports. Ready, what's up?
Speaker 5 (17:11):
Shock?
Speaker 8 (17:13):
What's going on?
Speaker 10 (17:14):
Chris?
Speaker 8 (17:14):
We're gonna miss you man too, for sure.
Speaker 9 (17:20):
But Chris.
Speaker 8 (17:21):
I think he's spot on, man. I've been telling my dad, Man,
I think he's gonna get it back. Man, he's been
too good. My dad's a Bess fan and he wanted
them when they picture Bisky. But I just think, man,
it's like perception is everything. And I think like he
was saying walking in the restaurants, walking amongst people, and
people just shot like sidehigh, like look at that freak
boy over there. And I think I've never seen him
(17:44):
like one of those games against Pittsburgh, I had never
seen him jaw that much with players like he was
like you just see him like Reader's looks like he's
cussing at the players, and it just seemed like he's
just on edge. I don't think he can quite settle
down to be what he was. And then another thing,
a lot of people in real life, Deshawn's never played
under center, so I can hit his life. He's always
(18:05):
been in the shot. So that's another hurdle. Like you
got the football hurdle, which he hasn't played enough games
because of the injuries, right, and then you got the
mental hurdle. So I don't I don't know, man, they
can't really get rid of me until like, I think
twenty twenty eight because the next year, you know, fifteen
got one.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
Hundred and thirty eight year right, I don't know, there's
still a lot of money on that deal. He ain't
going nowhere? Where's he going?
Speaker 11 (18:28):
Now?
Speaker 4 (18:28):
That's a good call.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
Yeah, thanks Shack, appreciate it. Andre in Massachusetts. We're expecting
you to call on Monday when Chris, did you try
to call in?
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Andre? What's up? You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports rays like man, good riddings.
Speaker 12 (18:43):
Absolutely not, Chris. I tipped my hat. You know, I've
seen that you're moving on. But I did try to
call on Monday. I was donned you gouts kept taking
calls in the seven o'clock hour because I missed it,
and then you kept taking calls but the lines are
so backed up.
Speaker 10 (18:57):
Yeah, I wasn't able to.
Speaker 12 (18:58):
But let me let me just go ahead and extent
my appreciation for the show and for Chris, you know,
moving on, and I'm sure you'll come back and then Rob.
You know, you got the new co host, so I
think it's going to continue on to be a strong show.
So to me, you know, it's a win win the
odd couple continues and then Chris, you're moving on to
your next ventures and you're going to be successful. In
(19:18):
terms of the Shaun watched it.
Speaker 10 (19:20):
For me much of all good.
Speaker 12 (19:22):
He Deshaun Watson is Tiger Woods after the car crash.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
That's what it is to me.
Speaker 12 (19:26):
I just don't feel and last year was really his
year to show something. He sat out, you know, the
first year he had the suspense and then he had
the injury, so he really had the red shirt year,
and so last year should have been right, I'm back
or I'm trending and exprection, and we didn't see it
and listen beyond you know. So I always hoop for people,
(19:48):
you know, you want to give second chances, you know,
and allows him the opportunity. Bottom line is this, The
AfD is an absolute monster. The entire conference is a monster,
and the AfD North in particular with Joe Burrow coming back,
Lamar already there. You know, the Steelers you know, are
gonna win eight or nine games, and so I just
feel like, you know, it's a short window sometimes and
(20:08):
you feel that you're going to be back, but circumstances happen.
I hope he gets back but for my money, I
think his best days are behind him. Thanks taking the call.
Speaker 6 (20:17):
Yeah, Rob, I think Look, he might be right, Chris.
I mean like like along with like his.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Ability that hefc's loaded, no no, right, like loaded.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Mahomes, Alan Burrow, Aaron Rodgers, Tua, Justin Herbert.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
I'm having Trevor Lawrence, CJ. Stroud. Didn't even make Stroud right.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
And who knows what Anthony Richardson is. I mean he
loaded Lamar. I didn't even say Lamar Johns.
Speaker 4 (20:54):
The MVP, the Ragning MVP. We forgot, hey, Gordoner Minshew?
Is that it from the Raider? Gardner Minshew? Rob G.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
I know you're supposed to be like I'm the only
team without a quarterback in the whole time, But Rob.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
G, how excited, be honest are you for football season?
Speaker 6 (21:14):
I know, like you're supposed to be like anything can happen, Chris,
But ain't no way in the AFC could you feel
good about the Raider.
Speaker 11 (21:21):
Jokes on you, Rob Parker. Chris, My official came out
during the show because I'm definitely not producing today. I'm
just kind of hanging out.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
I know he's just hanging out here about this show.
I have the Raiders making a wildcarget.
Speaker 11 (21:32):
No, you do, notice I do Gardner Minshew say what
you want about him statistically is better than Trevor Lawrence statistically.
And if you got to be better than him, if
you got a better they got. They got a great defense.
Max Crosby is in the short list of best defenders
in all of football. They just added defensive tackle from
the Dolphins. And if Gardner Minshew can even be a
(21:56):
league average quarterback, somewhere in the fifteen.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
To tow is Gardner Minshew better than Trevor.
Speaker 11 (22:01):
Look at their numbers when they both played in Jacksonville
last year and jackson touchdowns, nine picks in Jacksonville. That's
better than Trevor when they both played in Jacksonville. His
numbers from all that was years ago.
Speaker 10 (22:11):
For me.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
You act like he's old, Chris. I'm just saying that
was several years ago.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
And he didn't He never threw for for even thirty
five hundred yards, Rob did he didn't play cardon Really?
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Yes, they got a great defense. No way. DeVante Adams
is great.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
They make the player.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
How many games do they win? Levante Adams can He'll
make the subway?
Speaker 10 (22:35):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (22:35):
What commercial does he do Minshoes Goodacobacco, make the taco bell.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Don't even show those anymore. By the way, I know
what happened to that.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Min Shoes got about five really good games and he
as a star.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
Chris. They won game last year with a rookie fourth
round quarterback. They didn't. They can't. They can't win ten
with with a journeyman no quarterback.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
No all right, if they make the playoffs, when you
when we're in the same city again and we'll be
at the super Bowl together in New Orleans, I'll be
there for for f s one, so now he can.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
You know it's every other year, every other year the game.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
It's an inside jokes, I know, right, So I.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Will take you out for a steak or since we'll
be in New Orleans, creole dinner. I don't even know
what that is, but yes, it's good dumbo crawfish a
to fae uh bou dang.
Speaker 10 (23:37):
All that.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
All that is creole jumbalayah. I'll take you out for
all that.
Speaker 11 (23:43):
If all they gotta do is make the playoffs, they
don't get to okay, perfect, if.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
They take the playoffs, you take me out, Rob, I
wanted I want to. I want in on that. Okay,
you're gonna get it. I'll tell you what I't on
that bet. Yeah, the playoff.
Speaker 11 (23:59):
I will take you guys out, provided it's under the
iHeart budget that we get the week.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Okay, it might not be a mistake, but it'll be something. No, no, no, no,
come on, I'm fighting up.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
He'll battle the company pays.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Hey that much. Rob knows.
Speaker 11 (24:14):
We got his email specifically for Rob Parker that says,
you have gone over your ration for the week.
Speaker 4 (24:19):
Sir, I'm always getting the trouble.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
So we got foul of Fair coming up with Jaron Gamble.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search
f s R to listen live. It was a big
week in the big leagues.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Who's Who's a.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Is it foul or is it fair? And now from
mlbdbro dot com here's JR. Gamble.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
That's right, it is Fowler fair.
Speaker 11 (24:57):
Here on the Akaba Fox Sports Rader segment, we go
around the diamond discuss all the biggest headlines in Major
League Baseball. We will do so proper we got to
bring in a real baseball Lex thirty, a guy who
single handedly carries you inside the Parker podcast numbers, my
guy Jr.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Gamble.
Speaker 10 (25:12):
What's up, fellas? I know Rob told me I had
to be quick. I just want to say to everyone
because I know Chris is leaving the show soon. I've
been doing Fairophile for four years and the first time
that I even got a chance to do the show,
I fell asleep. If y'all remember this was four years ago.
I had a long day. I fell asleep and Rob
with piss and then he was like, give Chris a call.
(25:34):
So I never really spoke to Chris, but I called Chris,
and I tell you he was the nicest guy about it.
He was very understandable. I've never missed the show on
any radio station since. But I just want to I
know I'm taking up a lot of time. I want
to say much love to Chris and Rob. I love
you guys, and not only all y'all great people to
be on the radio, but they're just great men. And
I just want to say that.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
Thank you, thank you man. We appreciate that. Yeah, I
appreciate that.
Speaker 11 (25:58):
Brother.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
That was Chris.
Speaker 11 (25:59):
Was that nice to us around Here we go question
number one here on valer fair jar, you're the star.
You get the first crack, every single one. Last night
in the tenth the Angels intentionally walked show Altoni to
get the Mookie Betts, who promptly hit a three run
homer on the first bitch he saw. It was just
the third time in Bets's career that the batter in
front of him was intentionally walked. So here's the question,
(26:21):
foul or fair to say? Last night proved that show
Hail Tani is the most feared hitter in the National League.
Speaker 8 (26:30):
Fair it's a fair.
Speaker 10 (26:31):
Ball, it's fair, But I keep just briefed. But on
no one's planet Earth do I walk anybody to get
to Mookie Betts, who, in my opinions, every bit of
a good of a player as in the future Hall
of Fame as Otani is. You just don't respect players
of that magnitude. And that was Ron Washington lose his
(26:52):
marbles if you asked me, it doesn't make any sense.
You're telling me that teams Ferro Tani warning Bet. Maybe
by power, but I mean it's just just dumb move
to think that you have an advantage facing Mookie bet
and when you do stuff like that, that's what you get.
A three run home run in the feat.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
I'm gonna go fair. It's a ball. But I'm with Jr.
I don't care who you facing.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
You don't, you don't.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
That's insulting to Mookie Bets.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Mookie Bets is a phenomenal player, is gonna be a
Hall of Famer.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
You gotta respect that man, and you gotta try to.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Pitch to ol Tani because you don't want to set
yourself up for what you got with Mookie Betts. So
as great as o'd tany is, as Mookie Betts following him,
you you better let that.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
You better treat that man with some respect. Yeah, I'm
with you, Chris and Jay Ball. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (27:48):
And Otani's having a tremendous he's been too. He's been
to ninety two. He can be pitched to. Like, let's
not ask Chris like he's batting three ninety or something.
He's two ninety two under three hundred, so he can
be he can get him out at least put up
big numbers.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
But you can get him out.
Speaker 11 (28:06):
Fouler Fair the Akaba Fox Sports Rado Jr. Gamble sitting
with the Fellas sticking in the NL entwering Wednesday. Three
of the five best records in the National League all
came from the NL West.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
The Dodgers, the Padres, the d Backs.
Speaker 11 (28:19):
Since the break, those three of a combined record of
eighty six and thirty nine, a six eighty eight win percentage,
they've been killing it.
Speaker 4 (28:25):
Simple questions, j are foul or fair?
Speaker 11 (28:28):
Say the three best teams in the NL heading into
the postseason being the key phrase here, all reside in
the NL West.
Speaker 8 (28:37):
Sam, it's a fair ball.
Speaker 10 (28:40):
I mean those teams definitely playing the toughest division. I
give the Western flight nod over the East sixth year
because the Land has suffered devastating injury injuries and they
aren't the same team next season. I might have a
different answer. It doesn't matter much once the playoffs start,
as we saw last year because a lot of big
teams got upset ear the Phillies, Mets Braids. Any of
(29:03):
those teams are capable of making the World Series run.
But right now, you got to say with the Dodgers,
the Padres team that do for big things that happen eventually,
and the Diamondbacks who went to the World Series last
year with the disc Josh Bell, Yes, I say the
NL West has the three best teams Bywite Margins foul
the Phillies might that.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Is a foul ball. Yeah, there we go.
Speaker 6 (29:25):
Try to clean it up now, Chris, don't forget about
the Phillies. That's all I need to say. The Phillies
got off to a great start. They've been good all
year I know of late and they got to run
away with the division. But don't forget about the Phillies, Chris.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Five, that is a foul hanway, Rob, the Phillies are
you serious? I know they had their little struggles, but
they won eight of their last ten. Ever heard of
Bryce Harper? Ever ever heard of Kyle Schwarburg. I mean,
come on, man, stop.
Speaker 6 (29:55):
On their picture staff, Cliff, they got a great team
on that's ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
And Robin's good at Dodgers. They have a terrible picking staff.
But that's the problem. Well, especially in the postseason.
Speaker 11 (30:04):
Rob, Yes, sir, all right, last one fouler fair jail
gamble sitting in with the eyd couple. Phillies outfielder Nick
Castianis was asked earlier this week, what would you change
if you were an MLB commissioner for a day. His
answer harsher consequences for teams who aren't actively trying to win.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Shout out to the White Sox JR.
Speaker 11 (30:26):
Foul or fair to say there should be a punishment
for taking in Major League Baseball.
Speaker 8 (30:33):
Fault that is a foul ball.
Speaker 10 (30:36):
How about we just reward the team to spend money
and actually try to win.
Speaker 9 (30:41):
I like that, I did better.
Speaker 10 (30:43):
They've boss always been like this, so there's actually more
parity than ever. Prior to the season starting, it's easy
to tell usually who's going to be a contender. It's
only like four teams, honestly, and who would be a
pretender once the playoffs goes around. So there's too many
games in baseball to fake it. So adding the wild
card certainly helped because back when there was only the
Vision winner, I mean, the season was over by the
(31:05):
All Star breaking, you know, So there's no punishment because
you can't prove anyone's tanking when the teams are really bad. Uh,
they're gonna tank anyway because they need at least high
draft picks. So found you know, you should have rewarded
teams that aren't tanking to get the teams that are
they're gonna do that. Most of the teams are gonna
(31:26):
tank after a certain point in baseball.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
I'm gonna say, foul. That is a foul ball. I mean,
it's unfortunate, it just is what it is.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
All you can do is reward them with the draft
picks and hopefully they'll get better.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
But you know, a punishment, I just think that's too far.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
It's unfortunate. We don't like seeing it, but I don't
think you can do some type of public punishment. Yeah,
I'm with you, guys. Foul that is a that's a
problem too.
Speaker 6 (31:57):
Everybody can't win, Okay, they gotta be saying there's some
bad teams. I don't think the White Sox set out
to win forty games, you know what I mean, Like
it just got away from them and their stink. But
I don't think franchise want that. And here's the other one.
Can we just say that last year the Kansas City
(32:17):
Royals lost one hundred games and look where they are
this year. That was last year, Chris one hundred games
before the seven game losing streak, though they were.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Right, thank you, JR.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Gambled that was foul or fair.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
Will he be on next week? One more time before
next week?
Speaker 5 (32:36):
Right?
Speaker 4 (32:36):
I got next week. I'm more JR.
Speaker 10 (32:38):
So I talked to you then, Oh great, great, thanks fellas.
I thought this was gonna be it. I met one more,
one more.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
I'll take you all right, brother, peace, keep it locked.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Rob's Detroit Lions don't look now, but they everybody thinks
they're Super Bowl bound?
Speaker 4 (32:55):
What does Rob say? That's next couple of Fox Sports Radio.

said they wouldn't make the playoffs. Obviously they did and
this year rob Going into the season, which again starts tomorrow,
the Lions are the most.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
Popular bet at bet MGM to win the Super Bowl.
Are you a believer now? No, they had a great year.
Speaker 6 (34:13):
I think the division, Chris is way better, Bears are better,
green Bay is better.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
I don't even know if the Lions will win the division.
Green Bay could win the division last year. They had
a golden opportunity last year to get to the super Bowl.
I think they blew it.
Speaker 6 (34:29):
And I'm not convinced that blowing a chance at the
super Bowl meets automatically you get back the next year.
I know a lot of people think so, but we've
seen in the NFL, Chris, it's not automatic. As you know,
their opportunities missed and it might take your while to
get back. I could give you so many quarterbacks. We
talk about it all the time, Dann Marino, don't.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Worry about it. Dan, your second year you made to
the super Bowl. Don't worry about it. You'll be back. No,
Aaron Rodgers, you'll be back.
Speaker 6 (35:00):
Uh No, you give up. It's a good point. The Jaguars.
The Jaguars Chris, remember after the big comeback in the
playoffs Blake Board, Wow.
Speaker 10 (35:12):
All that.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
That's all I'm saying is it ain't Am Newton. It
ain't that easy yet Cam Newton did he get back?
Speaker 11 (35:20):
No?
Speaker 4 (35:21):
So they and they didn't even make it, like you know,
I'm acting like they made it.
Speaker 6 (35:25):
I'm talking about guys who actually made it or won
a Super Bowl, like Aaron Rodgers who didn't make it back.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
So do you think they won't make the playoffs?
Speaker 4 (35:34):
No, I didn't say that. I'm just saying because they might.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Vision my super Bowl pick is Baltimore over Green Bay. Okay, Baltimore.
I don't have my pick yet. Yeah, I mean, look there,
the NFC has gotten better. I do think Detroit is
a legit contender.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
I'm not saying that they have a shot, right, I'm
just saying by obviously, I like, won't you say the
Bears a better Chris too?
Speaker 1 (35:59):
I mean just think some people have picked a lot
of people picked the Bears to make the playoffs, That's
what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (36:04):
Like that division, it's not a slouch man. If they
didn't have a quarterback, that's right. And if you look
at the other three teams, you'd have to put them last.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
You just have to.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Without a quarterback, I put them last. But I'm just saying,
you know, it's not you can't just take them lightly.
So I agree with you in that it's a sexy pick.
I get it, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
And they have a legit shot. I really went back
and forth.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
I considered, obviously the Niners, I considered Detroit, and I
considered the Packers, and you know, the Packers, man, we.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
Pushed you over the top for the Packers. I'm just curious.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
I mean, look, Jordan Love, I do think is the
real deal. You know, I was saying that before last season,
just off the little bit we had seen from him
the previous season when Rogers was still there.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
But then he didn't play that well in the first
half a little.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Bit, but he was tremendous down, you know, the last
eight or nine games. Obviously, their defense I think is
going to be better. They took a step last year.
I think they can take a little bit of another step.
I think their receiving corps is phenomenal. Now people wonder
do they really have a number one? We don't know
who the one is, you know, I mean, you got
(37:24):
Christian Watson, you got Romeo Dives, you got Jayden Reed
like they have and don Tavian Wicks is good. Like
They've got a great group of receivers. I think that
are gonna surprise people this year. Josh Jacobs, you added
running back, and I think Matt Lafleur is an excellent coach.
And Rob We talked about the Niners knocking on the door,
(37:45):
which obviously they have being the two Super Bowls over
the last five years, but the Packers have been right
there too. They got twice to the conference championship with
Rogers right and Lafloor is the key, you know, he's
the one constant in this five year stretch. So I
just think that, you know, they were young last year,
(38:07):
and they're gonna be better. Because they're so young, they're
gonna get better.
Speaker 4 (38:11):
So I like them.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
But look, I'm not gonna sit here in say Detroit
or San Francisco couldn't win then, But.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
I'm with you, the likelihood.
Speaker 6 (38:21):
Is that it's not gonna be one of It's not
gonna be them, and even the forty nine ers like
this super.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
Bowl hangover, you saw it hit Philly last year.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
Yeah, and also just I don't know.
Speaker 6 (38:32):
The forty nine ers, A lot of guys didn't practice, Chris,
you know what I mean, a lot of holdouts. I
just you could get off to a kind of a
leaky start, you know, like yep, and it can hurt you.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Nah, no doubt, no doubt. So it's gonna be interesting.
We'll see tomorrow night too. The Ravens.
Speaker 4 (38:52):
It's a big game. I like what Kydre said. I
like his answer.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
We'll see if that's how the Ravens really feel, right,
if they really are are as excited about it as
he is. I'm sure they probably are, so all right,
it's the odd couple signing off, but keep it locked.
Jason Smith Mike Harmon her next and they bring fire.
