Speaker 2 (00:24):
Let's give this parties.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Our number two of the program, Rob Parker, kelvin Washington,
and we are broadcasting live from the ti raq dot
com studios ti raq dot com. We'll help you get
there and unmapped selection, fast free shipping, free roadhazar protection
and over ten thousand recommended installers. You heard me right,

(00:52):
tire iraq dot com the way tire buying should be.
And it's a very special hour on this TV theme
song Thursday because Calvin, Yeah, we'll sing woo.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Woo, I'm just warming up my vocals keep going.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
The real lyrics to the Good Times theme song. And
some people might get their panties in a bunch after
hearing what the real lyrics were that were edited out.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yeah, a little offensive possibly, So we'll get into that
in just a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
I'm curious to hear just the reaction for people who
don't know. But you know, you never know what's cut
out or whatever. There's all kinds of scripts and things.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Sometimes those are the great things you hear about a movie,
or that we had to take this scene out or
this show or this character in the show. Movie. Those
are always great when you hear that. Except this one
wasn't great. No, this one had the potential to have
some folks upset a little bit. I just couldn't imagine,
like even the songwriters really did they let me write
this down right, I'm like, yeah, I mean leavable, right.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
So let's talk about the New Orleans Saints off to
a great start two and all. They went to Dallas
and kicked hind body whatever you want to call it.
I mean, they worked the Dallas Cowboys over like a
burger and fries.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
I mean, they were just like ridiculous when you look
at what they've done over the first two games, rob
ninety one to twenty nine in favor of them versus
their two opponents ninety one at twenty nine. So we've
been talking about the offense being down that has been
for most of the league. For most of the league, guys,
you expect to put up crazy numbers. Quarterbacks aren't doing it.

(02:38):
I don't know if Derek Carr is on a revenge tour.
I don't know if he thought he was Roy Jones Junior.
Y'all must have forgot or something. Derek Carr can play.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
He just but that's what I'm saying, is us when
they wear him out of the out of Vegas. That
was awful. It really was because Derek Carr can play.
And we all know that. I'm not saying he's the
greatest quarterback to walk the earth, but he can play.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
And now he's in newall and they're balling out. They are.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
The Saints are averaging forty five and a half points
per game so far, the most points in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
By more than ten point. Yeah, it's not even close. Okay.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
New Orleans has posted ninety one points, tied for the
second most points in the first two games of the season.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
You're ready.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Since the NFL AFL merger in nineteen seventy that's according
to NFL research. And here's another one. Each of the
prior to teams to score as many points or more.
The two thousand and nine Saints scored ninety three points
and the nineteen seventy one Dallas Cowboys scored ninety one points.

(03:41):
And guess what those two teams both won. They didn't
go to the Super Bowl. They both won the Super Bowl.
So right here, you know, I've just told you that
show age fugayze and I got some issues with the
mass and all that. But I'm gonna tell you this
when I ask about is this bolognial flat?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
This is fleet. It is not bology. This is is
it beltaire the restaurant? This is mastros, This is uh
wago whatever the top whatever you want to That was spaghetti.
Oh that's rag ragu. And by the way, nobody gets
raggo anymore. No, you gotta get through is it? How
do you pronounce it? Rob is raw?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
All right? O?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
What's the one? Everybody rowse stepped? So raghu is right?
Is that ragu? Boo boo? Okay, Oh you gotta get rows.
Now you're gonna look at pray goo. It's gonna be
like three ninety. No, I can't pronounce rawls. You just
said it. Look at you rows. Rows is gonna be dollars. No,
I'm not buying, but it's worth it. I'm not twelve
dollars for spaghetti sauce. It ain't just spaghetti sauce. Bro

(04:44):
this is really, really is twelve dollars sauce pasta spaghetti.
And also, you gotta step back there like you broke.
You got seventeen jobs. Okay, you gotta stop backing like
you broke right walking around here with a Jordan Hoodie
on with with Fox Sports Radio. Oh, you can step
your food game up. I'm just twelve dollars for that
might be my one mission. I want to have an

(05:07):
amazing tenure with you. I want the show to go great.
I want people to love it. I want it to
be the best that it can be. But I also
want to lead this show making you a better person. Okay, Okay,
that's a tall order. It is. Well call me, y'all mean, okay,
because dang it, you're about to start eating better and
they will work on the worst of Wednesday. We'll get
there eventually. What you do, I'll get you closer to Lord.

(05:29):
But I want to go back to where are you?

Speaker 4 (05:31):
You know?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
So show right? I mean, I don't see anything that's
I'm gonna tell you why. It's also for a because
you're getting. You know what it is. It's when you
go to a great restaurant and you can get it
whatever you want, however you want it. You want to
run well, Alba Kamara is averaging like one hundred and
fifteen years old. No, absolutely, almost six yards of carry's averaging.
You want to pass well, you know what Derek Carr
has been doing. You saw what they did to Dallas's defense.

(05:54):
They went straight six straight drives. And it wasn't fluky drives.
Say say dot on the road, Yeah, but it wasn't
you know, like say Dak fumbles on his own twenty
and now I was easy. They were going eighty eighty
sixty nine, eighty seventy eight. Like whatever you want, however
you want it. And so you got to give some
love to an offensive coordinator, Gary Kubiak A Clint Kubiak,

(06:17):
I should say, I'm sorry. Clint Kubiak's coming in there
on a mission. He's got them playing Wales, got them.
Whatever he did during the offseason other NFL teams didn't do.
And I like what I'm seeing from them again from
the versatility. It's passing, it's running, it's a balanced attack.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
It's not one dimensional and to go into Dallas. Now,
remember Dallas before that playoff loss, that home playoff lost
to Green Bay had won sixteen straight games, so they
got their bucks kicked in that. So they had reason
at home, but they had reason to want to play
their first home game and reck to five like that

(06:56):
poor performance, right, yep, So they were playing for that
as well. Uh, Michael Parson's Everybody's like, oh he's the
next LT. We could stop that conversation for now, and
that defense.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
He's I want them on my team any day. But
he's not that guy. He's not TJ.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Watt. It don't matter who's blocking him, Hutchinson, don't matter
who's blocking them. You see what they do.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
And and I'm saying, uh, they had something to Dallas
defense to play for, right, because they got beat the
last time they were there and embarrassed at home and
the Saints came out and walked all over them.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Was there was nothing that they could do. It was embarrassing.
And credit the Saints defense, right, I mean, they reminded
us that aside from Cede Lamb, a connection there between
Dak Prescott and Cedee Lamb, that that nice past, you know.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
And even that was flukey because the two right there,
they ran into each other and that opened up CD
to catch the ball, turn up feeling and go.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
You take that away, they might have been even more brutal,
and so you got to credit the Saints defense. And well, listen, man,
the Saints they're marching in right now. They look like
a real quality team. They don't look fluky. This doesn't
look like an accident. It doesn't look like come you know.
Week eight, we're like, oh, they're teared. Now they're two
and six. Not saying they're going to win the super Bowl,
but that number you show was great. And also I'll

(08:16):
say this too, with the Dallas Cowboys rob twelve and
six last year, three of their six losses were blowouts.
So I don't know if it's just as a Dallas
say if they get, hey, we're losing, we're just gonna
lose big. We don't care anymore. I don't know what
that is. But when they lose, they lose.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
No.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I get that, and there are people saying that and
trying to use that as an excuse. But I'm just
what the Saints have been able to do. And here's
why you should feel good if you're a Saints fan
because it's not just the offense where they just you know,
blowing everybody out, but also the Saints defense is fourth
in scoring right and fourth in total and seventh in

(08:53):
total defense and second in takeaway So they're making things
happen defensively.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
And that's what you want to be able to have.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Is if you have a good defense and then you're
able to score points, you're gonna be in a good position.
And they're off to a great start too. And zero
and that win in Dallas. You know, I remember picking
that game and I thought that they would cover. You know,
it was like eight and a half first. That was
a big spread. And for them to do what they did,
I'm impressed by where the Saints are.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
So go to the opposite for me though, with the Cowboys,
just a loss, gonna be all right throughout the season. No,
the Cowboys got issues.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
They can't run the football Okay, y well and that too,
and they can't right stop anybody, but they can't run
the football league. They got Ezekiel Elliott two years removes
who shouldn't be on the team, that they paid in
food stamps. I mean, like none of it makes sense
that he's back with the cowboys.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
You know why because he was cheap. He was cheap
and ridiculous. You mentioned about the food he remember he
used to do is eating thing, the little eating celebrate.
He ain't eating no more. He is not even fifty
six yards. He's leading, tied with the lead for the
leading rusher on the team after two games. Fifty six yards.
That is embarrassing. And that's what happens when you go

(10:09):
back and spend the block. So all you fellas listening
right now you left old girl, you moved on. Don't
go spend the block. It might not be as good
as you thought it was. Well, every now and again
you might have to go spend because sometimes dudes mess
around and lost a good thing. You ever spend the block,
go back to an old thing and try to get
that old thing back once to no comment.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
No once or twice. I'm trying not to go backwards
in life, I really do.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
But you gotta go back, Anya, You gotta go back
every now to get that old thing back. Now and
the Dallas tried it and it's surely's not working. But
the Saint some marching in.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
I don't I don't know how you can look at
the Saints and not feel good about the start.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Hey, where's the super Bowl this year? And the super
Bowl is in New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
I'm just saying this, like Tampa Bay when they play,
you go the first team to play in Uh, and
then we had had to boom boom a couple of times,
and now it could be the same. Maybe now it's
just a trend.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Let's head on down and we're going to New Orleans,
right if they We're going to New Orleans regardless of
even if it's not the same, We're going to New York.
All right, don't listen, don't have me out on Bourbon
Street acting of food.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Oh yeah, we're gonna have a good time, rob g Right, well, uh,
just make sure you keep tabs of Kelvin's expenses because
don't get crazy.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
You know what I mean by me, he means himself.
Because we know about you, what we know about you.
I'm by the book, you know, like it ain't a
good book. Ye, I never get called into the HR.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Everything's good, you know, it ain't the good book that
here we go all the Saints bolooney or fleet?

Speaker 2 (11:38):
What kind of bolooney do you eat? Do you eat? Bolooney.
If anybody eats I'm a grown man. I don't eat boloney. Rob,
you you eat Bolooney? Don't you you have a daughter?
He has a daughter. No, that's gotta be racist asking
because I'm Mexican. I gotta eating Bolooneay, I got your back, Rob,
I knew you don't even me what Alex do you
eat Boloney? He don't eat meat.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
You're funny for that, Rob, Rob. You go to church
on Sunday too?

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Right?

Speaker 6 (12:05):
No, wonder we have Worst of Wednesday?

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah? I need that definitely. All right?

Speaker 1 (12:09):
On the Saint Bolonial FLA eight seven seven ninety nine
off Fox. They are you buying them as a legitimate
Super Bowl team this season? And we just gave it
the stats. Teams that come out to box like this
offensively have gone to the Super Bowl and won.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
So we'll come to that conversation next with you.

Speaker 1 (12:27):

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Fox Sports Radio, The Odd Couple, Rob Parker kelvin Washington
with you on a TV thing song Thursday, we got
something cooking for you. You do matter? Let me ask
you something quickly here. Is there anything you watch currently? No,
because you can't.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
All of your references are Golden Girls and things like that,
and uh, Samford and Son and all that.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Like it has to be something like, are you not
only murderers in the building?

Speaker 5 (14:20):
Doesn't have you?

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I'm not watching anything. Cor Succession didn't get you. I
don't want Rogie help me out. I'll even go back. Rob.
Did you watch The Wire? I watched it? Okay, five seasons. No,
not at all. I saw his eyes. He didn't watch it.
He made literally when the movie was watching on HBO
went off and it came on. I watched. I've watched
a little bit. But did you watch any Game of Thrones? No?

(14:43):
Not it either? Not one did you watch was the
last of Us? No sopranos. I'll give you another old one, no,
and you're from New York. I know they're in Jersey,
but close enough. The Mobster I've seen them, so I
had when cable was invented.

Speaker 8 (14:59):
You tapped out right, No, it's not that it's used
to crescendo with Seinfeld. That was that was the last show, right,
that was the last I've seen that I've watched that.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
But as far as like a regular TV show, Okay,
let me ask you, I can't watched the regular TV show.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
And two, what do you like? Give me your Is
it humor? Is it something I'm I'm.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
All into the comedies, okay, but but I'm also at
the point of excuse me, Like, it's just I watched
sports and news like national news. That's really all I watch.
And then I watch a lot of reruns of stuff
that I really.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Liked that I think. So you're so you're alone, you
know nights over. Let me just kind of want it's
gonna be an old rerunning. Yeah, well I got you
it just it just will because it's something that I know.
Get your little bowll ice cream is what I do?
You know, chocolate cake something well, the cheese, the cheesecake
that I never got the.

Speaker 8 (15:54):
Seventy dollars cheesecake that none of us got to partake,
None of us got any What what are you talking about?
You what we're talking about?

Speaker 5 (16:01):
By the way, you you can call in eight seven
seven nine nine six six three six nine eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
We're talking about the Saints. Are they marching in? Do
you believe? Are they Bologna fill a? You can call
in on that. We both believe they're fill a. I'm
going prime rib. I like prime rib. That's my cut.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
IM just wonder if anybody's looking at them not thinking
that they're they're good, because ninety one points is pretty
doing good first two games, and to do it in Dallas,
and to do it in.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
The defensive side as well. It wasn't like they were
in a shootout, you know, they just flat out blue
Dallas out and Rob g you like how smoothly he
got pasted, the fact he didn't give us our cheesecake.

Speaker 8 (16:36):
That was pretty smooth, Rob Parker and full disclosure form,
Rob Parker, He I promise you this is not being funny.
He's hoping that to night's games in the Jets and
the page's gonna be a blowout. So that way he
can dip out in the third quarter when he's at home,
put on the Golden Girls rerun or Matt Bock something
like that, and and eat a piece of cheesecake.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Am I wrong? So tell yeah, like you actually are
hoping that happens. That would be a nice night. Yeah, exactly,
I'm not. I don't do you know me? I travel
a lot. Yes, you travel a lot, and you also
order extra cheesecake for all of us. Then they bring
you the cheesecake. Then you say I'll carry it over
to the station, You carry it over here, and somehow

(17:14):
we all forgot and then you walk out with him.
That's gonna move on. We're gonna move you. Good cheesecake. No, Alex, no,
nobody got it in. It's got cheesecake. He got two pieces,
he did. Okay, Well, the rest of us Alex silence
speaks volumes right here. It does. Uh by the Alex
over there is just silent. He stepped out fall. He
got tired. He got tired of listening to you. All right,

(17:35):
But anyway, the moral of the story, when it comes
to the Saints, we're both in agreement. I'm interested to
see though the next couple of weeks because I want
to see if they can go three and one, four
and oh, really build onto something, keep playing good defense,
keep scoring, keep having that versatility where they'll be able
to run the ball and also pass the ball to say,
all right, fine, we finally have a fun super team.

(17:56):
Look the NFL any sports team league is when you
have somebody's balling out right so that you can love
hate them. You can I mean hate watching them where
you want them to lose, whether it was the Patriots
for you, or you can love them and think they're great.
So again eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, hit
us up if you want to jump in on this. Yeah,
we just lost job. I was just about to go

(18:17):
to them. No, it's all good. So yeah, obviously it's
still early in the season. Rob G.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
You do have a story right out of Detroit with
Dan Campbell. Can you give us details a lot We.

Speaker 8 (18:29):
Can get to Dan Campbell and I just want to
put some some numbers and some facts behind what's going
on with these Saints. Okay, we were talking about how
they performed last week against Dallas so much so that
I'm un ross. Saint Brown, you know, went on this
podcast and said I'm not impressed by the Saints because
the Cowboys do this every year, right, they.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Don't have it.

Speaker 8 (18:46):
And that's what you brought up earlier with the three blowoffs,
and that's true. But just to put in a context
exactly what New Ones did to Dallas. According to Pro
Football Focus, that game was so bad with Alvin Kamara
going off for and the Saint's been up forty points
that all four of the Cowboys defensive tackles in the
rotation Ohdiggy Zooa Mazzi, smith Linvald Joseph Jordan Phillips are

(19:13):
currently ranked in the bottom twenty of all defensive tackles
in the NFL Corning Football Focus. The highest winked one
now is ninety. First entering the game, they were all
in the fifties. One game, center back sent you down
from the middle of the road to the bottom of
the barrel. That's how bad New Ones put it on them.

(19:34):
Yet and again, it was in all facets of the game.
And the best part about this too is I think
Dallas got exposed as they're not offensively as explosive as
you thought maybe they would be. You just paid this
man sixty million dollars Dak Prescott, and you're looking at
it and you're saying, well, shoot, if.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
CD ever is just mediocre, we're screwed. If Ceedee Lamb
has just a game fifty you know, six catches, sixty
seventy yards, they're and you.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Thought defensively that this team had something going as well.
But now the last two home games, a playoff game
and the first game of this season were terrible blowouts.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
I actually want to see I'm gonna pull up the
Saints uh the rest of their schedule the next few games,
because I want to see who they they have. So
they have the Eagles Sunday. That's gonna be a good test.
That's gonna be a good one. Eagles. They're gonna be
pissed that they lost. They're ready for that. In a
game that you called an epic collapse job. That's what
it was. An absolute choke job. There's no other way

(20:34):
around it. And then so they go from they go
from there to the Falcons, which were still you know,
we don't know exactly what the Falcons are yet, and
then they have the Chiefs, so they'll have it. They'll
have the Chiefs coming in on the October thirteenth, that'll
be a good one as well. And then the Bucks
look like they're I'm sorry, that will be on October seventh,
then the thirteenth against the Bucks. Bucks look like they
can be a solid team as well. Uh so we'll

(20:56):
have to keep watching that. Give you an update. By
the way, it's nothing nothing Thursday Night Football. About nine
minutes left in this game. You got the Patriots with
the ball. Will keep you outdated on For those of
you who aren't able to be by a TV and
want to know the score, we got you for that
as well. Sneaking a quick call before we get to
Steve de Seger. All right, who's that Corey in Fresno.
You're on the couple of Fox portuaiting. What's up, Corey?

Speaker 9 (21:18):
Hey, Rob, Hey, Kelvin. Welcome to the crew. We're excited
to have you on the night shift there with us.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Shout out to you, Corey. Appreciate it, my man. Thank
you for the support too of listening. Corey, we appreciate it.

Speaker 9 (21:27):
You know it absolutely. Colvin. I want to apologize to
you for what you're about to get put through in
about an hour from now on the Tower of Trivia.
It's going to be quite the experience, but we look
forward to listeners look forward to seeing how you handle it.
And I'm going to say, in the NFC South, which
is a garbage division, Okay, it's going to be between

(21:47):
the Saints and the Bucks, and I think one of
those two teams, whichever one doesn't win the division, is
in as a wild card. And maybe Atlanta too, well,
sal like a terrible.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Team, I mean a terrible division. If you got two
teams that make in the postseason, yeah, well you know, yeah,
as bad as they are, right, one's gonna be a
wild card. Right, that's two teams, all right? Coming back,
we were just talking about this conversation about the Lions
and Dan Campbell had some crazy stuff happening that he
had to make a major change in his life. Will
tell you what that is.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Of course, listening to the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio,
Rob Parker kelvin Washington with you on a TV Themes
song Thursday, and We're coming to you live from the
tire rack dot Com studios. So we know fans is
short for fanatics, right, we know, we're fully aware of that, Yes,
we know, and we know that people can get carried

(22:49):
away with their teams rob and enjoy it and get
a little passionate. And you might, you know, not know
how to handle your excitement. But one of the things
you cannot do is what apparently some Detroit Lyons fans
started to do. Now you know, I'm from the area,
love the Lions, loved the state of Michigan. However, this
is uncalled for. So Dan Campbell absolutely blew the NFC

(23:12):
Championship game. Yes, the players dropped a few passes. However,
you're supposed to save your team from themselves sometimes as
a coach, Hey take some easy points. He's owned that
to his credit. Then he has a tough loss this
past Sunday. Right, should have took the field goal early,
so on and so forth. That does not give you
a reason to stalk the man's house. Someone leaked his

(23:34):
address and all of a sudden fans start to show up.
But also, don't forget the the NFC Championship game. No,
I said that, That's the first thing I said yeah,
that's the first thing I said. You got to save
your team for yourself sometimes, right, yep. They started to
Now that's a bad loss, and that was a chance
for the Lions to exercise the demons and go to
the Super Bowl franchise history. But man, this is real

(23:55):
life and the idea that the man has a family,
has a wife, he has children, and you would start
stalking his home. Someone leaked his address, starting to have
pranks and he said, hey, we got this really nice home.
It sits on two acres. But I got to move
my family, he said, because it's gotten too crazy now.
And after the losses, people started to go crazy. Oh
that's not that and that like that's where it's like,

(24:15):
all right, look me, you and I are gonna get
on these mics for the next few years and have
a great time and talk smack and be upset at
a team or coach. But that's too far. When I
got to actually call my real estate agent and say, hey,
I need you to look at other places. Why coach
with a bigger house, Why no, because I'm worried for
my family. Because fans are nuts. No, that that's true.

(24:36):
That's where fans gour hour go crazy. The only good
thing is the house wasn't on the market for a
long time. Apparently it's sold in twenty four hours.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Two acres right, hey, and it's probably I don't know
what part of town it was in.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Actually I have it. I'll tell you in a second. Yeah,
Uh that's that. Shoot, what part of town was it? Well,
both of you are, we clearly know Detroy. I'll get
that for you once. Seon.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Yeah, I'm just curious because, uh, this is where fans
get out out of control.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Like one thing is he's a coach.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
You can be unhappy with it, call out sports talk radio,
complain all you want, but don't get involved in doing craziness.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
I don't know. I don't know what compels you to
do that, you know what I mean? Like, I'm actually
like I can't understand. First of all, I don't agree
with half the stuff fans do with games, because I'm like, yo,
you're a grown man. That's kind of crazy. Well, they
have a right to yell and buol. I didn't say
that's not crazy stuff. First of all, let me tell
you what I'm not going.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Crazy is buying fourteen dollars French fries and that's what's
crazy a lot.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
I'd rather you buy fourteen dollars French fries then you
go and actually fight somebody at a game. Let me
tell you what I'm never going to agree with that.
I ain't fighting another man over men and tights. Okay,
you guys are fighting over man and tights who don't
know you exist. In fact, for the very first time
in my life, I went to a Rams game a
couple a year or two ago, and it was the

(25:55):
first time I'd ever gone to an NFL game Rod
Parker and never saw a fight. I always see a
fight parking lot, you know, in the stands, in the hallway,
in the bathroom. Some At some point, I'm going to
see a fight. And I got this close. Guys started barking.
His ladies started barking a guy they were about to
fund like, and I just thought to myself, you're fighting
at a game over guys who literally gonna win or lose.

(26:16):
Go to the bar, hang out, go home to their kids,
go to the club, whatever they're gonna do. Don't know
you exist, and you're a fight. Now you're missing a tooth,
broken nose, got arrested. That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Well, they got other issues. Have you going, as you say,
an adult, to go out, that's and that's your evening.
You're going out to be arrested and uh and and
mess up your life and get involved in the legal
system and all the other.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Out and we never seven people too is another thing.
The house was in Bloomfield Township. That's nice, okay, I
mean that's where I expected it to be. When I
was married, we lived in Bloomfield Hill. I'm not yeah, right,
right not. I'm not saying we had big plates or anything,
but that's where we lived in Michigan, right, Yeah, We're
still had a condo in Farmington Hill. So that's yeah,
of course where you expected to be. By the way,

(26:58):
Oakland County was one of the rich counties in America,
by the way, for many years, not anymore. I don't
think it's d It was d riches at for quite
some time. But yeah, so this is disappointed. Dan Campbell
has some blunders. Dan Campbell has made mistakes. Dan Campbell
has cost the team. They loved Dan up until that.
Like that's the problem too, is they loved everything about

(27:19):
him and all. He's a risk taker, he was working
this and that he turned the lines around and then
some things start to go wrong and then all of
a sudden they turn on you. And then because that's
what that is.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
Why in the world would you be going to the
coach's house that just got you to the NFC Championship game,
which hadn't done in thirty years.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
I think they still love him too, you know. I
still keep up with the news and what's going on there.
Most people love him, Most people support him, and a
lot You got a lot of support too, Rob, because
he owned his mistakes. A lot of coaches out do
it every time. It's just what we do. And now no, no,
it's just you know, stay out our locker room. That
sounds like Brandon Stalley. That's what he used to say. Yeah,
now he's what did he do? Updated his LinkedIn page?

(27:56):
So Dan Campbell has at least owned it now. I
don't want you to own this same mistake again, you
know what I mean? Like, all right, this is because
he's owned it now twice two out of the last
three games with the Lions. Let's not go thrice. Brother,
maybe in five years, but we can't got the same
mistake key times four or five.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yet there's no doubt about it, and there's some you know,
the love affair will wear off quickly. Like the Lions
fans are expecting them to get back to them where
they were for the first time, you know that, right
Like they are expecting that, and they will be disappointed
if that's not the cage or if the Packers somehow

(28:36):
jump over them, because they've been in the division with
the Packers.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Who've owned the Lions for a long time.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
And then to think, oh my god, and they got
a young quarterback who isn't going anywhere, you.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Know what I mean, speaking of going somewhere. The Jets
just scored a touchdown right there, Lazarre catches one from
Aaron Rodgers form a teammate. Look at them having a
good time. So for you, I'll be interested to see
if this Jets offense can get it going. But yeah,
leave the man alone, leave his family alone. You don't
play ball. Most of us familymen in here or just
a man it even if you're single, you at your
own home. This is my place of residence. Like are

(29:07):
you going too far? How Let me at my nine
to five. Yell at me on the field, yell at
me at the practice facility, yell at me at the
gas station even but don't bother my home, my sanctity,
my home, my place of peace and my family. And
by the way, you know Dan Campbell, you don't want
that smoke bro looking like he can go out there
and give you a good twenty five plays out there
right now, I wouldn't want that, all right, coming up

(29:29):
real lyrics to the good time, of course, because it
is a TV themed song Thursday. So we'll have that
for you in just a minute. And you don't want
to miss it because there's some lyrics you didn't know existed.
We'll do that in just a bit right now, of course.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Of the world.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Is sports this week's topic.

Speaker 8 (30:58):
Apparently it's been out there for a hot second, but
we just found out about it today. Apparently that glorious
theme song we just bumped back with the good Times
theme song. What you hear, what you hear on TV
is not what was written as intended? And what's all
host here, Rob Parker, Calvin Washington, they are gonna hit

(31:20):
you with the real good time lyric. This is not
a joke. These were actually put out there to be
read and sung on television, and for obvious reasons.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
They made a change. Take a listen, good We're gonna
just come here ready by good time. The time you
need a payment, Good times, and any time you need
a friend, good times. Anytime you're about for mon duck
good times, nuggetting hassled, nuggetting huh so, keeping your head

(31:57):
above water, make it away when you can.

Speaker 5 (32:01):
Roaches are roaming in the hallways good Times. The landlord
is nobody's fool, Good Times. He lives on the other
side of town. Good times. Ain't too happy we got him.
They were racist, so I'm gonna give you running about it.

(32:22):
Tell them what they said. They didn't hear it.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Tell them again.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
Roaches are roaming the hallways good times. First of the
landlord is nobody's fool, Good Times. He lives on the
other side of town. Good Times. Somehow, in nineteen seventy three,
these lyrics didn't make it in on CBS on Good
Times of the show. Can you imagine the writers who

(32:46):
sat there and thought roaches are roaming the hallways, that'll
be a good line for the show about a black
family in Chicago living in the projects.

Speaker 5 (32:54):
They were like, Hey, boe By, why'd you say roach
is a roam in the hallways? Well, I mean they're
a poor black family, and you know what, whoa Bob what?
First of all, Bob settled down.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
It's an iconic theme song and it wasn't about.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
To be.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
In the hallways. We'd have had all types of issues
with that. But there's so many things to break down
with that. Rob g what roaches? Is that a black thing?
Only I can tell you it is a part of
the Mexican delegation as well. I mean, I'm just saying, like,
if you are in the wrong side of town, money
ain't good. Roaches are roaming the hallways for everybody body.

(33:31):
It is not a race thing. It's just I'm surprised
that the writers would even go that route.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
But can I gives of the theme song really fits
easy credit, ripoffs, scratching and surviving, you know what I mean, Like,
there's a lot of the theme.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
Well here's the thing. Here's the bad part. Everything you
just mentioned might lead to roaches being in the hallways.
But that sounded like roaches might be in the hallway.
Credit rip offs. That means they ripping you off out
there in the streets. It's tough keep surviving barely making
it sounds like we poe, not pour, but poe hanging

(34:08):
and a jiving hang it. Since roaches they they might
be it not in your home, but they might be
in the hallways. But here's the thing. We lucky we
got them. Well we lucky we don't have the roaches.
One thing I'll give them credit for is that back
in the seventies, at least they had a room where
they looked at somebody and was like should I say this?

(34:28):
And somebody went nah, because they could have just kept it.
At least they went around. That's when you know they
had representation in the room. Okay, let me say they
went to somebody was like Jimmy, what do you think
about Jenkins? And Jimmy was like, hey, man, I suggest
you don't say that. Power to the people. No, that's
what happened. I'll say this too, of all people. I
don't know if you guys remember this. You guys are

(34:50):
a little younger. Muhammad Ali used to do roach spray commercials.
Dang it, did you know that? Is this post like
where he he needed some money or is this like
prime peak? Did you know that? And I didn't know?
Here's the line. This is after you got beat up
and all that. You know, we need to check he
needed to check. The line was oh rojius, that was it? Hey,

(35:15):
you can find it on YouTube, Steve, Muhammad Ali is
about to come back and punch you, Steve the sega
am I right or wrong about Muhammad Ali?

Speaker 1 (35:24):
He did roach sway commercial and oh rojas, I swear
that's what it was, okay, But now there's so many things.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
I mean, the spirit of Muhammed Ali is about to
hit you with one of those jabs. Two. The thing
that we put these stereotypes on whoever people right, black people,
white people, Jewish people, Latina, everybody like that we put
these stereotypes. The worst part about it is like everybody
loves like that, black people, watermelon and fried chicken. Who
doesn't like watermelon, fried chicken?

Speaker 3 (35:52):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
I don't know anybody who don't got a single human
being except Alex turns down fried chicken. No, he likes
watermelon though, don't you ask?

Speaker 10 (35:59):
Yes, seeded watermelon, because it's the things of life have seeds. Well,
just remember, Calvin, what are the two most non seeded
things now that are seedless grapes and watermelon. Those are
the two healthiest seeds in the world. You actually want
to tell me that against us?

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah, I need seeds. They not like us. They not
like us, Alex. By the time, by the time i'll
leave this show, whenever that would be, hopefully it's a
decade from now. He's gonna have me in here. Now
my stay in You'll be floating. I'll be floating in
the studio. I'll be forty five pounds lighter with watermelon
seeds stuck in my eyes. I ain't hit on stick.
I don't see how to say watermeanon out look. The

(36:37):
street's gonna say, there you go, keep the stereos and
I'll tell you this the other The other thing too.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
When when Good Times hit the airways and was a
big time success, yes show, believe it or not, Three
of the top ten TV shows in America were Block,
Samford and Son, The Jeffersons, and Good Times.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
But that does surprise me. Look good is good? You
know what I mean? I always said the same thing
with funny, and when you talk about money is funny.

Speaker 1 (37:05):
Funny is funny. I don't care what it is like.
People always said to me, Oh, I don't know how
you love the Golden Girls. I said, dude, have you
watched Golden Girls? The the lines in that show are
you The writing is tremendous.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
If you take a show from this late seventies or
the eighties and you put them up against just about
any sitcom currently, they're getting smoked. Golden Girls will smoke
just about any sitcom. I don't know if it's I
don't know if it's acting, but sitcoms do not hit
like they used to. I don't know what that is.
With that being said, we might have to go ahead
hit me. What are your five? Oh my god, yeah,

(37:39):
it's hop five, they five whatever you wanna call it.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
Uh, Golden Girls, you for real like the Golden Odd
Couple with Jack Klugman and Tony Randall.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Seinfeld, the Honeymooners. All right, now, out of obligation, you
gotta give me something with some brothers and Perry Mason.
You can't hit me with that brother up in there.
I just gave you my top five, not a single
brother up in there. I'm just telling you, those are
the shows that I grew up with that I tried people.
We can't get a Martin, a Fresh Prince. I know

(38:11):
we can't say this anymore. The Cosby Show, I don't
even if we can say that anymore. Definitely, but those shows.
I had a drink And maybe that's why you didn't
put it in your top five, because you that is
that why it's not Come on, you gotta have something.
We can't get a living single, we can't get a
Wayne's brother, we can't get all the family, we can't

(38:33):
get a h we can't get a San franc On,
a Good Times or I like.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
Those shows, but I did not in my top five.
They were in my top fifteen. I love those shows, right,
what would be in top five?

Speaker 2 (38:45):
Be real quick? We don't have time. We don't have time,
No give me they're all for You got five black shows. Martin,
King of Queens, Martin Martin, King of Queens, Fresh Prince.
I can't name another one off the bat, like, that's
all right.

Speaker 6 (39:00):
He definitely fill CB's role because King of Queens was
his favorite.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Yeah, King of Queens is lit, yo, don't sleep on
King of Queens. All right, great, great show. All right,
whole I left. We still got another hour. We got
to update you on Thursday night football and also the
