So let's talk about the New Orleans Saints off to
a great start two and all. They went to Dallas
and kicked hind body whatever you want to call it.
I mean, they worked the Dallas Cowboys over like a
burger and fries.

I mean, they were just like ridiculous when you look
at what they've done over the first two games, rob
ninety one to twenty nine in favor of them versus
their two opponents ninety one at twenty nine. So we've
been talking about the offense being down that has been
for most of the league. For most of the league, guys,
you expect to put up crazy numbers. Quarterbacks aren't doing it.

I don't know if Derek Carr is on a revenge tour.
I don't know if he thought he was Roy Jones Junior.
Y'all must have forgot or something. Derek Carr can play.

He just but that's what I'm saying, is us when
they wear him out of the out of Vegas. That
was awful. It really was because Derek Carr can play.
And we all know that. I'm not saying he's the
greatest quarterback to walk the earth, but he can play.

The Saints are averaging forty five and a half points
per game so far, the most points in the NFL.

second most points in the first two games of the season.

prior to teams to score as many points or more.
The two thousand and nine Saints scored ninety three points
and the nineteen seventy one Dallas Cowboys scored ninety one points.

And guess what those two teams both won. They didn't
go to the Super Bowl. They both won the Super Bowl.
So right here, you know, I've just told you that

Whatever he did during the offseason other NFL teams didn't do.
And I like what I'm seeing from them again from
the versatility. It's passing, it's running, it's a balanced attack.

It's not one dimensional and to go into Dallas. Now,
remember Dallas before that playoff loss, that home playoff lost
to Green Bay had won sixteen straight games, so they
got their bucks kicked in that. So they had reason
at home, but they had reason to want to play
their first home game and reck to five like that

poor performance, right, yep, So they were playing for that
as well. Uh, Michael Parson's Everybody's like, oh he's the
next LT. We could stop that conversation for now, and
that defense.

He's I want them on my team any day. But
he's not that guy. He's not TJ.

Watt. It don't matter who's blocking him, Hutchinson, don't matter
who's blocking them. You see what they do.

And and I'm saying, uh, they had something to Dallas
defense to play for, right, because they got beat the
last time they were there and embarrassed at home and
the Saints came out and walked all over them.

Was there was nothing that they could do. It was embarrassing.
And credit the Saints defense, right, I mean, they reminded
us that aside from Cede Lamb, a connection there between
Dak Prescott and Cedee Lamb, that that nice past, you know.

And even that was flukey because the two right there,
they ran into each other and that opened up CD
to catch the ball, turn up feeling and go.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
You take that away, they might have been even more brutal,
and so you got to credit the Saints defense. And well, listen, man,
the Saints they're marching in right now. They look like
a real quality team. They don't look fluky. This doesn't
look like an accident. It doesn't look like come you know.
Week eight, we're like, oh, they're teared. Now they're two
and six. Not saying they're going to win the super Bowl,
but that number you show was great. And also I'll

say this too, with the Dallas Cowboys rob twelve and
six last year, three of their six losses were blowouts.
So I don't know if it's just as a Dallas
say if they get, hey, we're losing, we're just gonna
lose big. We don't care anymore. I don't know what
that is. But when they lose, they lose.

I get that, and there are people saying that and
trying to use that as an excuse. But I'm just
what the Saints have been able to do. And here's
why you should feel good if you're a Saints fan
because it's not just the offense where they just you know,
blowing everybody out, but also the Saints defense is fourth
in scoring right and fourth in total and seventh in

total defense and second in takeaway So they're making things
happen defensively.

And that's what you want to be able to have.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Is if you have a good defense and then you're
able to score points, you're gonna be in a good position.
And they're off to a great start too. And zero
and that win in Dallas. You know, I remember picking
that game and I thought that they would cover. You know,
it was like eight and a half first. That was
a big spread. And for them to do what they did,
I'm impressed by where the Saints are.

So go to the opposite for me though, with the Cowboys,
just a loss, gonna be all right throughout the season. No,
the Cowboys got issues.

They can't run the football Okay, y well and that too,
and they can't right stop anybody, but they can't run
the football league. They got Ezekiel Elliott two years removes
who shouldn't be on the team, that they paid in
food stamps. I mean, like none of it makes sense
that he's back with the cowboys.

You know why because he was cheap. He was cheap
and ridiculous. You mentioned about the food he remember he
used to do is eating thing, the little eating celebrate.
He ain't eating no more. He is not even fifty
six yards. He's leading, tied with the lead for the
leading rusher on the team after two games. Fifty six yards.
That is embarrassing. And that's what happens when you go

But anyway, the moral of the story, when it comes
to the Saints, we're both in agreement. I'm interested to
see though the next couple of weeks because I want
to see if they can go three and one, four
and oh, really build onto something, keep playing good defense,
keep scoring, keep having that versatility where they'll be able
to run the ball and also pass the ball to say,
all right, fine, we finally have a fun super team.

Look the NFL any sports team league is when you
have somebody's balling out right so that you can love
hate them. You can I mean hate watching them where
you want them to lose, whether it was the Patriots
for you, or you can love them and think they're great.
So again eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, hit

put some some numbers and some facts behind what's going
on with these Saints. Okay, we were talking about how
they performed last week against Dallas so much so that
I'm un ross. Saint Brown, you know, went on this
podcast and said I'm not impressed by the Saints because
the Cowboys do this every year, right, they.

Don't have it.

And that's what you brought up earlier with the three blowoffs,
and that's true. But just to put in a context
exactly what New Ones did to Dallas. According to Pro
Football Focus, that game was so bad with Alvin Kamara
going off for and the Saint's been up forty points
that all four of the Cowboys defensive tackles in the
rotation Ohdiggy Zooa Mazzi, smith Linvald Joseph Jordan Phillips are

currently ranked in the bottom twenty of all defensive tackles
in the NFL Corning Football Focus. The highest winked one
now is ninety. First entering the game, they were all
in the fifties. One game, center back sent you down
from the middle of the road to the bottom of
the barrel. That's how bad New Ones put it on them.

Yet and again, it was in all facets of the game.
And the best part about this too is I think
Dallas got exposed as they're not offensively as explosive as
you thought maybe they would be. You just paid this
man sixty million dollars Dak Prescott, and you're looking at
it and you're saying, well, shoot, if.

CD ever is just mediocre, we're screwed. If Ceedee Lamb
has just a game fifty you know, six catches, sixty
seventy yards, they're and you.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
Thought defensively that this team had something going as well.
But now the last two home games, a playoff game
and the first game of this season were terrible blowouts.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
I actually want to see I'm gonna pull up the
Saints uh the rest of their schedule the next few games,
because I want to see who they they have. So
they have the Eagles Sunday. That's gonna be a good test.
That's gonna be a good one. Eagles. They're gonna be
pissed that they lost. They're ready for that. In a
game that you called an epic collapse job. That's what
it was. An absolute choke job. There's no other way

around it. And then so they go from they go
from there to the Falcons, which were still you know,
we don't know exactly what the Falcons are yet, and
then they have the Chiefs, so they'll have it. They'll
have the Chiefs coming in on the October thirteenth, that'll
be a good one as well. And then the Bucks
look like they're I'm sorry, that will be on October seventh,
then the thirteenth against the Bucks. Bucks look like they
can be a solid team as well. Uh so we'll

a real quality team. They don't look fluky. This doesn't

and six. Not saying they're going to win the super Bowl,

the Cowboys do this every year, right, they.

And that's what you brought up earlier with the three blowoffs,
and that's true. But just to put in a context
exactly what New Ones did to Dallas. According to Pro
Football Focus, that game was so bad with Alvin Kamara
going off for and the Saint's been up forty points
that all four of the Cowboys defensive tackles in the
rotation Ohdiggy Zooa Mazzi, smith Linvald Joseph Jordan Phillips are

currently ranked in the bottom twenty of all defensive tackles
in the NFL Corning Football Focus. The highest winked one
now is ninety. First entering the game, they were all
in the fifties. One game, center back sent you down
from the middle of the road to the bottom of
the barrel. That's how bad New Ones put it on them.

Yet and again, it was in all facets of the game.
And the best part about this too is I think
Dallas got exposed as they're not offensively as explosive as
you thought maybe they would be. You just paid this
man sixty million dollars Dak Prescott, and you're looking at

CD ever is just mediocre, we're screwed. If Ceedee Lamb
has just a game fifty you know, six catches, sixty

they have the Eagles Sunday. That's gonna be a good test.

see a fight. And I got this close. Guys started barking.

fund like, and I just thought to myself, you're fighting
at a game over guys who literally gonna win or lose.

Go to the bar, hang out, go home to their kids,
go to the club, whatever they're gonna do. Don't know
you exist, and you're a fight. Now you're missing a tooth,
broken nose, got arrested. That's crazy.

Well, they got other issues. Have you going, as you say,
an adult, to go out, that's and that's your evening.
You're going out to be arrested and uh and and
mess up your life and get involved in the legal
system and all the other.

Roaches are roaming the hallways good times. First of the
landlord is nobody's fool, Good Times. He lives on the
other side of town. Good Times. Somehow, in nineteen seventy three,
these lyrics didn't make it in on CBS on Good
Times of the show. Can you imagine the writers who
(32:46):
sat there and thought roaches are roaming the hallways, that'll
be a good line for the show about a black
family in Chicago living in the projects.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
They were like, Hey, boe By, why'd you say roach
is a roam in the hallways? Well, I mean they're
a poor black family, and you know what, whoa Bob what?
First of all, Bob settled down.
Speaker 2 (33:05):
It's an iconic theme song and it wasn't about.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
To be.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
In the hallways. We'd have had all types of issues
with that. But there's so many things to break down
with that. Rob g what roaches? Is that a black thing?
Only I can tell you it is a part of
the Mexican delegation as well. I mean, I'm just saying, like,
if you are in the wrong side of town, money
ain't good. Roaches are roaming the hallways for everybody body.
(33:31):
It is not a race thing. It's just I'm surprised
that the writers would even go that route.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
But can I gives of the theme song really fits
easy credit, ripoffs, scratching and surviving, you know what I mean, Like,
there's a lot of the theme.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Well here's the thing. Here's the bad part. Everything you
just mentioned might lead to roaches being in the hallways.
But that sounded like roaches might be in the hallway.
Credit rip offs. That means they ripping you off out
there in the streets. It's tough keep surviving barely making
it sounds like we poe, not pour, but poe hanging
(34:08):
and a jiving hang it. Since roaches they they might
be it not in your home, but they might be
in the hallways. But here's the thing. We lucky we
got them. Well we lucky we don't have the roaches.
One thing I'll give them credit for is that back
in the seventies, at least they had a room where
they looked at somebody and was like should I say this?
(34:28):
And somebody went nah, because they could have just kept it.
At least they went around. That's when you know they
had representation in the room. Okay, let me say they
went to somebody was like Jimmy, what do you think
about Jenkins? And Jimmy was like, hey, man, I suggest
you don't say that. Power to the people. No, that's
what happened. I'll say this too, of all people. I
don't know if you guys remember this. You guys are

a little younger. Muhammad Ali used to do roach spray commercials.
Dang it, did you know that? Is this post like
where he he needed some money or is this like
prime peak? Did you know that? And I didn't know?
Here's the line. This is after you got beat up
and all that. You know, we need to check he
needed to check. The line was oh rojius, that was it? Hey,
(35:15):
you can find it on YouTube, Steve, Muhammad Ali is
about to come back and punch you, Steve the sega
am I right or wrong about Muhammad Ali?
Speaker 1 (35:24):
He did roach sway commercial and oh rojas, I swear
that's what it was, okay, But now there's so many things.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
I mean, the spirit of Muhammed Ali is about to
hit you with one of those jabs. Two. The thing
that we put these stereotypes on whoever people right, black people,
white people, Jewish people, Latina, everybody like that we put
these stereotypes. The worst part about it is like everybody
loves like that, black people, watermelon and fried chicken. Who
doesn't like watermelon, fried chicken?
Speaker 3 (35:52):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
I don't know anybody who don't got a single human
being except Alex turns down fried chicken. No, he likes
watermelon though, don't you ask?
Speaker 10 (35:59):
Yes, seeded watermelon, because it's the things of life have seeds. Well,
just remember, Calvin, what are the two most non seeded
things now that are seedless grapes and watermelon. Those are
the two healthiest seeds in the world. You actually want
to tell me that against us?
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah, I need seeds. They not like us. They not
like us, Alex. By the time, by the time i'll
leave this show, whenever that would be, hopefully it's a
decade from now. He's gonna have me in here. Now
my stay in You'll be floating. I'll be floating in
the studio. I'll be forty five pounds lighter with watermelon
seeds stuck in my eyes. I ain't hit on stick.
I don't see how to say watermeanon out look. The

street's gonna say, there you go, keep the stereos and
I'll tell you this the other The other thing too.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
When when Good Times hit the airways and was a
big time success, yes show, believe it or not, Three
of the top ten TV shows in America were Block,
Samford and Son, The Jeffersons, and Good Times.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
But that does surprise me. Look good is good? You
know what I mean? I always said the same thing
with funny, and when you talk about money is funny.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Funny is funny. I don't care what it is like.
People always said to me, Oh, I don't know how
you love the Golden Girls. I said, dude, have you
watched Golden Girls? The the lines in that show are
you The writing is tremendous.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
If you take a show from this late seventies or
the eighties and you put them up against just about
any sitcom currently, they're getting smoked. Golden Girls will smoke
just about any sitcom. I don't know if it's I
don't know if it's acting, but sitcoms do not hit
like they used to. I don't know what that is.
With that being said, we might have to go ahead
hit me. What are your five? Oh my god, yeah,
(37:39):
it's hop five, they five whatever you wanna call it.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
Uh, Golden Girls, you for real like the Golden Odd
Couple with Jack Klugman and Tony Randall.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Seinfeld, the Honeymooners. All right, now, out of obligation, you
gotta give me something with some brothers and Perry Mason.
You can't hit me with that brother up in there.
I just gave you my top five, not a single
brother up in there. I'm just telling you, those are
the shows that I grew up with that I tried people.
We can't get a Martin, a Fresh Prince. I know
(38:11):
we can't say this anymore. The Cosby Show, I don't
even if we can say that anymore. Definitely, but those shows.
I had a drink And maybe that's why you didn't
put it in your top five, because you that is
that why it's not Come on, you gotta have something.
We can't get a living single, we can't get a
Wayne's brother, we can't get all the family, we can't
(38:33):
get a h we can't get a San franc On,
a Good Times or I like.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
Those shows, but I did not in my top five.
They were in my top fifteen. I love those shows, right,
what would be in top five?
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Be real quick? We don't have time. We don't have time,
No give me they're all for You got five black shows. Martin,
King of Queens, Martin Martin, King of Queens, Fresh Prince.
I can't name another one off the bat, like, that's
all right.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
He definitely fill CB's role because King of Queens was
his favorite.

Yeah, King of Queens is lit, yo, don't sleep on
