He will join us.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
We'll talk some football as we get ready for the weekend,
the NFL of baseball. But I'm excited about the weekend
because I'm heading to Las Vegas for a night of
fun and quick one and food and all that. And
I love to go to Vegas. I haven't been there
since my birthday back in January. I'll go check out
my former radio partner, Mark Wilson, who lives out there now.

(01:26):
Nice the man from Detroit, Mark. But yeah, I'm looking
forward to the weekend. A lot of stuff happening.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm hoping the gonna swing in a couple
of corners. We'll see a friend of mine there put
out a nice documentary at debuts tomorrow, so something to
really out here.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Go check them out. Support what kind of doc is?

Speaker 4 (01:44):
It's about the all the craziness that happened in Charlottesville
and how there's a community that was trying to get
the all those statues down and what it took and
how who got involved in Yeah, and from one of
the guys, Eric Newman, shout him out. He's behind a
lot of the All the Smoke podcasts, the KG and
Paul Pierce, He's behind a lot of stuff. So shout
out to Eric, and yeah, so so and so support.

(02:06):
I would love to get out on the links, brother
and get my swing on at some point, but I
can't do too anything, one thing at a time, right,
all right, yo, man, So you know we have the
conversation about quarterbacks, right, and what do you do with
all these young quarterbacks? And there's been a lot outside
of Jayden Daniels, who have struggled this year and even
last year, minus or sans sees A Stroud. And now

(02:28):
there's some conversation about what the Patriots are doing with
Drake may And we heard during the off season that
he's looked good, he's been amazing, and Drop Mayos even said, yeah,
he's been the best quarterback. But they're gonna go with
Jacoby Brissett. Well, Jacoby Brissette is exactly what he is
backup pro. Everybody seems to like him, but at the

(02:49):
end of the day, you're not necessarily gonna win a
lot of games with Jacoby Brissett.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
And now we're hearing there's backlash with the Patriots. The players.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
They're saying, hey, man, we know who the best player
quarterback is the best give us a chance to wait,
we want him in the game.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
And Rob, do you have more details about one of them?
Which is very weird, right because he writes for Patriots
dot Com. Yeah, and he's one of their people and
he kind of got caught slipping. He's slipped big. I
don't even know how I got on the website because
you know that's usually the candy store.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
There's nothing bad on the team website.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
If you work for the team, you know you better
not put anything out there that's going to get people's
panties in a bunch.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
But this happened. Wedgie's galower.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
That's right Evan Lazard who works for Patriots dot comedy
as a reporter there. He also hosts their podcast that
they put out on their website about the team, covering
the team. What is it called Trader, It's called Patriots
Catch twenty two.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Geez Louis Benn Nick Donald right bentmcdonald's dot com.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
What in any event, you know, normally these things are
very rosecolored glasses when you're talking about the team.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
You know that, Rob, how many times you've been on
Raiders dot com?

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Never?

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I mean, come on, if you're a real fan, I'm
not talking about casual, You're not going there for the information, right.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Well, we and all those real fans messed out because
he dropped.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Somebody dropped the ball.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
He was on his lightest spot about that his latest podcast,
talking about the quarterback situation. K dub He said, right now,
talking about the locker room they're teetering on mutiny, and
he goes on to explain that they're at the point
now if his two guys in the locker room, they
all watch these two quarterbacks practice every single day, they
all know they dropped. Drake made third overall. At what

(04:25):
point in time some of these guys say to themselves,
why am I going out there getting my butt kicked
every single Sunday and Drake can't play? Why am I
out there with the quarterback guy gave me the football
when we had the Ferrari back in the garage. Now
that guy picked up by a couple outlets, so much
so that Patriots dot Com scrubbed the audio from their podcast,
and mister Lazarre went on another radio show later in

(04:46):
the days that I kind of went to overstep my bounds,
backtrack the whole thing, and you know.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Because they got because they got to him.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
They called him to the principal's office and said, you're
gonna go on the radio and say that there's no
mutiny going on, and we're gonna take it down, because
if it wasn't, the end of the world would still
be up.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
They took it.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Down because they didn't want anybody to get onto that.
That's shocking to me that it made it on their
web team.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
Then you know what happened, rightboy sleep Not only that,
I think he got in his podcast back where you
just start, you know, talking and letting stuff go and
saying stuff, and he got in his podcast like the
more general podcasts, you know, just having it. He forgot
where he was working. Bro, you work for US dot com. Okay,
you work for US dot com. Guess who pays you?

(05:30):
Want you see that? Check say Robert Kraft up in there,
and don't be don't be talking recklessly. However, I will
say I like what the Patriots are doing. I like
which Rob Mayo is do it. I liked it. They're like, look,
we have a game plan. Ultimately we'll see if it works, ultimately,

(05:51):
see if it has success. But the game plan is,
Drake may we like what you're doing. Should I even
said it? You have been the best quarterback for what
we're seeing in the off season and all the and
you got the room people loving you. But we don't
have to throw you out. We're not built great right now.
We don't have the team that we want. We're gonna
get better have some acquisitions, let some of the young
draft picks develop, continue to find our identity, and let

(06:12):
you grow. We don't have to throw you in the
wilds in the wild, throw you into the fire, get
you beat up, banged up, hurt, lose your confidence, struggle.
What's wrong with that? This place has a winning formula.
I think Mayo has robber Craft's, you know, a blessing.
We're not gonna fire you if you have a rough
season right off the bat. We believe in you, We

(06:33):
trust in you. Let's give this this system a go,
Let's give it a try. Let's build this confidence up,
and maybe it comes in week eight, week nine. But
we don't have to throw them out there just to
get beat up like everybody else is doing to me.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
I like what they're doing. I like that they have
a game plan.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
I like that they're sticking with it without the outside
no its even inside nose of other players kind of
snickering and smirking, Wow, why is he playing? Hey, this
is a system. Trust what we're doing. We're gonna build
some here. Let this kid develop, let them watch, let
him learn from Jacoby, let him learn good, let him
learn bad, and they will get him out there when
we're ready. We don't have to throw them out to
get beat up, to get hurt. And they y'all looking
at him like he's Brice Young way man. C J.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Stroud got thrown out there, you get beat up. He
looked good all right then, And there's the point. If
the kid can play. The way you learn how to
play is by actually playing. If he can play, now,
don't get if you're telling me he ain't can't play,
that's something else. But there's no one way of doing it.
Everybody's different. Aaron Rodgers sat for three years, do you
know why? Because they had a Hall of Fame quarterback

(07:31):
who is still playing at a high level. So Aaron
Rodgers love in Green Bay sat for three years too.
Guess what, They had a Hall of Fame quarterback. Now
you ain't replacing a Hall of Fame quarterback. And that's
a luxury if you have it. But you can keep
going though. Alex Smith and then Patrick Mahomes sat behind
him there.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
But he only sat. He played the last game and
the decie. That's why I said, then you get him
in there at some point if you want. But I
don't have to, Rob, I don't have to rush him out.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
But I don't think there's all the guys I agree
with that, And this is not fair to the other
guys on the team because they're gonna be held to
a different standard. Hey, the team was bad, I'll tackle.
We're gonna get rid of this guy. Give it that guy.
We lost all these games. We're gonna get We'll give it.
Those guys want to play and have a chance to
win and stick around. It affects their career too. Now

(08:20):
you're on a team that's two and fifteen, what are
they gonna do next year? Get rid of the secondary
we had. If they're fifteen and two and this young
quarterback who they watching practice and they think can play
now can help you win and be better, you got
a better chance of sticking around. That's why the guy
talked about a mutanty in the locker room. You don't

(08:41):
want to be on a two and fifteen team. You
don't want to get your butts kicked every now.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
People.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Then it's like, it's not only with the Patriots, it's
with the other teams. I don't want that guy who
was in the secondary with the Patriots. Remember they gave
up all those points and they everything you're saying now,
I'm not interested in him.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
And if you're good, you're playing the right way, you'll
get picked up, you'll be on another team. I think
we have CJ. Stroud as an anomaly. That's why we
always bring him up. Jayden Daniels is an anomaly right now, guys,
these guys are struggling like crazy. Have you seen what
they're doing? They look terrible. All these young quarterbacks are struggling.

(09:20):
And it happened the last week. That doesn't mean that
Drake May is going to U right and I'm not
and I don't know. I'm sorry, that's not what I'm saying.
Is My only point is I like that they have
a game plan, and like, this is what's the game
plan We're going to allow him to continue to do
behind the scenes, developed to grow, ask the questions, watch
the good, watch.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
The bad.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
By practicing, nobody playing and but not getting killed. And
if I have a team where I don't believe it
right now, I'm like, yo, this ain't the team.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
I don't want to rush them out there.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
Oh B four and you know thirteen, Let's wait, let's
see what's what We'll get them out there, get them
some reps and then we'll see what we got. I
just like that. They have a system, a way about
it there. They're buying into this and when he's ready,
he's ready. When we want to put him out there,
we don't have to go out there and get him
killed just for the second they see we made Rob
Parker happy.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
We got him out there and got him killed.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
No, what if you put him out there and the
guy wins seven straight games? I mean, you don't know that.
You know, Barro played right away for the Bengals, got
hurt his first year, took him to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
His second year, he played right away.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
There are situations young players, there are situations.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
I'm just saying, if.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Kayleb Williams was the best talent we've ever seen, this
best talent since, this person since Andela are the most
sure assured pick.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
And he may be in some.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Years, but right now he's looking worse than Justin Fields.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
And we saw what they did with Justin Fields, got
him out of here. No, no, no, see what Boat Nicks
looking like. If you listen to so many people want
in the NFL, the.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
GMS and other personnel, a lot of that what the
Bears are doing.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Isn't helping.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Justin the point, if you're not ready for it yet,
why just throw him out there.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
I'm not saying it'll never happen.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
You absolutely are gonna have quarterbacks that can come out
there and who can play.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
All I'm saying is if he can play and he's
ready to go, that was like the Jordan Love. Let
me tell you something, if they really knew back when
they had a chance to trade Aaron Rodgers at the draft,
you remember that whole snarra to go to Denver, Like
they could have got a boatloaded for Aaron Rodgers. I
think coming off an MVPC like that could have happened,
but they weren't confident in Jordan Love.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
So that's why they didn't make it happen.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
And then it wasn't until later, you know what I mean,
a couple of years later, because you could have had
Jordan Love plus the pluthora of picks and stuff you
would have gotten for every Rodgers exactly.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
But you know what I also like is the fact
that to your point right there, maybe Mayo offensive coordinators like, yo,
he's got the goods, this is our guy.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
He ain't ready right now, So we're ready. No, no, no,
and all the players, Oh, he's ready. I hear y'all.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
We've decided offensive coordinators, head coach, quarterback, coach. He ain't
ready yet, not saying he ain't good, And y'all see
that he's gonna be good. He's not ready yet for that.
And that's all I'm saying. And also goes up to
Robert Craft. They're like, yo, man, mao, you cool. You
don't have to worry. What am I gonna do? I
start freaking, I gotta start panicking. Man, you good. We

(12:13):
didn't hire you for one half of a season, then
we're gonna decide to fire you because you didn't have
a great team when our team doesn't even look great period.
I like that to me, that shows trust within the
system and trust within the organization of like, man, we're
building something here. We're trying to build it up again,
so we have a ten year run, not a year
or two run.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
I think it's ridiculous that the New England Patriots with
the Craft at the helm is holding to mail.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
You know what I'm saying. I just rob Gee, what
are you saying?

Speaker 4 (12:42):
We had such a great segment, rob g we had
such a great segment and then you mayoed me yes man,
you know what and more like a yo like ayo,
that's what it should have been. Ao, don't do that, roight,
Ao Craft don't Yeah, we got it. Did you want
to throw a mac cheese? Mac and cheese? Oho?

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Been there to Kraftmac and Sae. You have no idea.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
You're working next to somebody who could be a comedian.
If I wasn't good hard could hard good?

All right? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. All Right?
Do you think that they're doing it the right way?

Speaker 4 (13:14):

game plan? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Eight

a conversation about the way the Patriots are handling Drake May.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
News got out.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
There might be a mutiny in the locker room if
they don't start getting Drake May out on the field.
I say they're doing it the right way, taking their time,
seeing them put them out there when he's ready.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Rob says, no way, no how if he can play
put them out there Gary and Jacksonville.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
You're in the couple Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Gary?

Speaker 7 (14:51):
Hey, guys, I agree with you on the NFL is
the ultimate meritocracy and mail to all the players in
the locker room. Put the best player, took the kids
the best chance to win. He's gotten thinking a whole
rock of him. We know Jacoby Brissette, they gotta lead
him anywhere. Put the kid out there and let's see
what he can do. We do Jacoby Bresentary limited as

(15:14):
a quarterback?

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Right, you're not going, thank you. You're not going anywhere
but home dinner, maybe a show. You ain't winning no games,
you ain't going in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
I wasn't win it anyway with Drake may Uh you
know or anybody like you know what I mean, Drake
the rapper. So to me, let's just get him out there.
Let Jakobe take all them unnecessary hits in these als.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Dre in Michigan, you're on the couple of Fox Sports. Ready,
what up? Dra What up?

Speaker 8 (15:36):
Drau?

Speaker 9 (15:38):
What up?

Speaker 4 (15:38):
Though?

Speaker 2 (15:39):
How you?

Speaker 10 (15:40):
I'm good? But I'm good. Hey, I got I gotta
agree with Kevin on this one.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
That a minute you tell me cook you let dry
cook Drey, we've got back six years.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
You already jumped off. Hey, listen, you go mad.

Speaker 10 (15:52):
Twenty years.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
That's right, twenty years, Dre, what's up? You ain't wrong
when you're right.

Speaker 10 (15:56):
The blue bar together, that's what.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
You got dragon.

Speaker 10 (16:00):
Now, No, this is why I agree with him, because
you know when you bring up to cz Strold and
you bring up Jays and Daniels, that strowd had one
of probite, the third best lineman with Tunsu, third best
left back on the game. He had support, he had
protection Jayon, he got protection, run game, he got talent.

Speaker 6 (16:16):
There.

Speaker 10 (16:16):
Don't let that boy get out there and get his
brains be there now, he gunshot picking up all these
bad habits because he has no protection. But man, think
about the NFL is the ultimate business.

Speaker 8 (16:25):
And they're paying for the future.

Speaker 10 (16:27):
So go ahead, let's say, let me sit down, let's
develop some talent. Then we'll bring you in. Like you said, well,
they're gonna get a cup of coffee in the sweet road.
They're not gonna win, they're not going to the playoffs.

Speaker 8 (16:35):
Nope, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 10 (16:37):
So while risk his future on.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Today, Man, Yeah, that developed you're a smart man, Dre.
You're a smart man, brother. Thank you for the call.
That's all I'm saying. Man, it ain't like he run
around with a bunch of talent. It's not like he
was maybe the Atlanta Falcons where you got some talent
on the outside, got some speed seris and got all this.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Man, we ain't doing much right now. Where you want
to go next? Jay in South Carolina?

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Jay, you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports wading.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
What up?

Speaker 11 (17:00):
Hey, how y'all doing?

Speaker 10 (17:01):
Man?

Speaker 2 (17:01):
First, A long time lift for me? Thank you?

Speaker 8 (17:04):
Jack?

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Oh Jack, Jack? Hey, we'll preach. How long you been listening?

Speaker 11 (17:09):
Man, I've been listening for about six seven years.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Wow, since we started out. We're into our seventh year
of the Yad couple.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Very nice listening.

Speaker 11 (17:17):
Yeah, A couple of times I've been trying to call.
I couldn't get too but listen. I agree with both
of y'all. But at the same time, I lean towards
not to rock. I lean towards your partner. So you
tell me about it. You got to think about it.
Look at Andree, I mean Andrew Low. They beat the
boy up, they jump. You know what I'm saying, he
quit football. I feel like you got there. I feel
like you got to take a pay. You got a fair
frame booth. You know what I'm saying. You got your

(17:38):
left tack and you got your right tackle. You know
you got it. Indeed, if you got somebody who's service
board until you get what you want, they know how
you run it. Other than that, you're gonna be What.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
About the other players on the team? What are they
p what are they The checks still clear? That'll be
all right, Jay. We appreciate what you're saying, Rob.

Speaker 11 (17:57):
I get what you're saying. I mean that the team
say pretty mad.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
That's all.

Speaker 11 (18:02):
Next year, baby, the same.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
All right, fast scroll, Yeah, we appreciate you that.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Man.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Let's be honest.

Speaker 4 (18:09):
I can understand there saying he might be more talented
than Jacoby du We see that. But we ain't ready
as a team, y'all not that good all y'all telling
me to put him in there, y'all not that good anyway.
So you know, let's just find out if we can
get better. We got next Eric Eric in Austin, Texas.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports reading what
up eating?

Speaker 9 (18:27):
What up?

Speaker 7 (18:28):
Up?

Speaker 6 (18:29):
Up?

Speaker 2 (18:29):
We're doing good?

Speaker 8 (18:31):
All right.

Speaker 7 (18:31):
So here's the thing.

Speaker 9 (18:32):
I agree with both of y'all. But here's my thing, right,
especially with young quarters, I want.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
You to pick a side. Come on, pick a sign.

Speaker 9 (18:38):
Who you wait, wait, let me let me doing When
it comes to your quarterbacks, right, we get so caught
up on they gotta have a receiver, they gotta have
a tight ed. The best weapon a team can give
his quarterback is a.

Speaker 8 (18:51):
Good old lage.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
True.

Speaker 9 (18:52):
Let's be real. A young quarterback coming into the league,
he's not getting it. Shrouts got lucky, right, he got lucky,
didn't Dan's got lucky to get bright and dot with that.
Caleb Williams, we saw Caleb Willia the best supporting Cats ever.
He can't have all the all FROs he wants. But
if you don't have time to throw the ball, if
you're for.

Speaker 11 (19:08):
His life, it don't matter.

Speaker 9 (19:09):
So like I'm with Helvin because if you're the Patriots,
why am I gonna put my prize rookie out there to.

Speaker 8 (19:15):
Get beat us?

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Facts?

Speaker 4 (19:17):
Thank you, Eric, appreciate it. That's all I'm saying. Eric,
That's it.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
What do you mean? What the man dropped the mic?
What else he got to say?

Speaker 8 (19:24):
Eric?

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Eric, you ain't got nothing else to say? You dropped
the micro.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
No, Eric, I'm not even gonna go to Vegas this weekend.
You hurt me so bad. No, Eric, appreciate the car.
Have a great weekend, Bro, I'll go to Vegas anyway.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Yeah, that's all. Man. Listen, man, they got they Listen.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
We have If he's as good as we hope him think,
we're about to have him for the next ten fifteen years.
I'm not about to have him go out there, get
his head beat in and just just for the sake
of hey.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Well he's better than Jacoby. We know he's better than Kobe.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
And that's why we let Jacoby take all these hits
and these losses.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
We'll get him out there at some point. That's my
thought behind it. Newtony, that's why it's the mutiny going on.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
You said, your questioned if old boy who wrote that,
how he still has a job.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
I'm just saying, but I don't mean that. It ain't
a mutiny going on like that. That ain't come. He
ain't make that up.

Speaker 6 (20:09):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
Thanks Governor. You live from tire rack dot com studios.
You know who else gotta hear an they saying tire jokes.
That is Sean King, former NFL QB, Fox Sports Radio
NFL analyst Real Sean King on Twitter, Sean knows about this.
He went down with the King. But the King unfortunately
has to hear these time though too. You know about it.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Sewn and I work together at the Four Letter Network.
Then he really had to hear these.

Speaker 8 (20:40):
Sew absolutely and I'm not gonna get on well today
because it's Detroit Tigers advanced to the second round of
the baseball playhoffs.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
So shout out to ram Oh, give me a shout out. Wow,
everybody I know. I've worked there for twenty years. I'm
impressed that they made it. And uh, do you give
him a chance against the Guardians?

Speaker 8 (21:01):
Absolutely, baseball a finicky sport. They're hot at the right time.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
Facts, I'm with you, I'm from with you now. Everybody
back home is rooting for him.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Hey, we were just having this big debate about Drake
May in New England and there's a report that was
taken down or from Patriots dot Com that the team
is a mutiny brewing because the players are like, Drake
may is better and he should be playing. Because why
are we playing a guy where we know we're not
going to win and we're all out here getting our
heads beat in and it doesn't amount to anything.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Where are you on that?

Speaker 7 (21:33):
Why?

Speaker 1 (21:33):
If Drake may can play and is good enough, why
shouldn't he play.

Speaker 8 (21:37):
This is a surprising because of the organization. The Patriots
have been pretty good about doing the right things and
very rarely do you draft a quarterback in the top
three have him matched up with a first time, first
year head coach on a team that doesn't have big expectations.
That's the perfect birthing ground for him to gain experience.

(21:57):
So I don't know why they aren't playing Drake, thank you.
It matches up with where everybody else is. I mean,
this is my coach, Mayo's first year. It's not like
the Patriots have playoff ambitions or expectations. This is a
perfect time, young group of wide receiver, skilled players. This
will be the perfect time for him to get experienced.
So I'm not really sure why the Jacobe Bassett experiment

(22:18):
is still going.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Sean, it's because they want to go busted. He looked
like Bryce Young, you know why?

Speaker 4 (22:24):
They want to let this team develop, Let him grow,
Let Mayo find his thing, find an identity, let him
watch behind her set, let him take the beating, and
then we throw him.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Man, how did you learn how to play quarterback in
the NFL? But through practice of playing?

Speaker 8 (22:39):
Well, you gotta play, and Bryce Young's an outlier. I'm
not gonna let you use him because that owner fired
his head coach and coordinator halfway through.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
His first season, and that's what they might he out there.

Speaker 8 (22:53):
So I mean it was curblated there his best player
last year, with Adam feeling like that kid had no
shot ever, so I don't think the scenarios match. I
think the pictures are making a mistake, especially because Drake
may played pretty good in the preseason, looked like he
was ready to go out and start gaining experience.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Where are you on, Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
I thought that was a strange signing a lot of
money for God coming off of major injury or injury
at least, and was surprised. But he had a big
win last night that three and two tied for the
best record in their division. What do you make of
Kirk Cousins and his impact on the Falcons.

Speaker 8 (23:34):
I thought it was a perfect signing because of their youth.
You gotta look at their Steel guys, but John Robinson,
Drake Running Kyle Pitts Oh really early in their careers.
They needed a veteran, experienced presence at quarterback. The only
reason people are questioning the Kirk Cousins move is because
they drafted Mike Pennick after signing Kirk Cousins. But I
think him and Zach Robinson are finally getting on the

(23:55):
same page. I think he's getting more familiar with the offense.
If you look at the Pittsburgh game opener, he was hesitant,
wouldn't let the ball go. Now he's throwing it with anticipation.
I think they're gonna get better and better, and they
have a really talented young player in the wings. If
Kirk gets hurt or if you know, he gets old overnight.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
Yeah, you can absolutely tell. He's starting to even believe
in at Achilles a little bit more, starting to get
some trust in that. You know, it takes a long
time mentally, as you know, for players that believe in
that they're actually healed from some of their injury. Sean King,
former NFL quarterback, Fox Sports Radio NFL analysts joining us now.
The conversation also the news is what do you do
with Davonte Adams?

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Where does he go? He goes to Baltimore?

Speaker 4 (24:35):
And Rob and I had the conversation of what if
he goes to Baltimore? He posted that thing on Instagram
Edgar Allen Poe the raven He's you know, the Ravens
obviously would love to have him. What do you make
of that? And then just where do you think he's
the best fit. Let's just say all things were available,
where is he the best fit?

Speaker 8 (24:53):
I think he's the best fit in Kansas City? But
I don't think Karalas City will touch him. I think
Kansas City likes their culture. Even though we're she being
out for a while, they like where they're at. To
bring in a guy that's very talented but also moody,
I don't think Andy Reid would do that. Here's what
you gotta do. You gotta look at the Raiders. What's
the priority to move the Vontae Adams because he's causing

(25:15):
turmoil and getting in the way of what Antonio Trump
Pierson is trying to get or to get the most value.
To me, that's the question, because it's a lot of
places that he can go and make them better. Baltimore,
New York, I mean, I mean, he's a really good player, guys,
so wherever he goes, they're going to be better. I
just think it has to be a team that has
a lot of veterans that's on the playoffs super Bowl platform,

(25:39):
because that's what he wants. He's looking at this from
a career standpoint. If he spends the next three years
in Las Vegas and they don't make the playoffs and
don't win, all of a sudden, he doesn't look like
a first ballot Hall of Fame. And go somewhere else
and be on a winning team and play in those big,
high profile games and do what he's done his whole career,
and he's more likely to get into the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
How about that? I agree with that. I think that's
spot on.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Antonio peers like a coach going on social media liking something.
I just don't understand that he's a former player. He understands, Sean,
you played in the league, Like for your coach to
do that, what would be the purpose of a coach
to do that.

Speaker 8 (26:20):
I just think that's who AP is, and I don't
think players have a problem with a guy that is
consistently who he is.

Speaker 11 (26:27):
I think those.

Speaker 8 (26:27):
Guys really like AP. I think AP is establishing this
year that he's not the interim head coach. He gives
the head coach. If your effort, you know, when you're
attention to detail is in what he desires, then you'll
be going. And I think the post like was letting
his players know I see everything and I'm not trying
to have from the fact that I see everything, So I.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Think that's immature. I just think that's immature. I'm surprised
that guy.

Speaker 8 (26:51):
But you you like ReBs wrong?

Speaker 2 (26:54):
I love yes, he does five dollars.

Speaker 8 (27:00):
How many different ways can you make reels and they
still be great. I mean, it's a whole lot of
ways to coach a team and be really good at it,
and AP's doing it the way that matches his personality.
I just think we got to sit back and see
if it works well.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Well, but it's not working so far.

Speaker 8 (27:16):
They're two and two. They beat the Ravens in the Browns.
Those are games. Before the season, nobody thought the Raiders
would have won.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
And they lost to the Panthers after they beat the Ravens.
That to me is a bigger indication.

Speaker 8 (27:28):
I tell you this every time I come on the show.
I tell you you're a great talker, very average listener. Anybody
can beat anybody in the NFL if you don't show
up with your no.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
But that's how you build on something.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
After a big win on the road against Baltimore, it
tells you about your team and if they were ready
or not. There's no way that Carolina should have beat them,
No way, but.

Speaker 8 (27:48):
They came back and they beat the Browns. Give credit
what credit is doing. He's two and two. They still
control their own destinies.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
What my master card? I don't have to give credit.

Speaker 8 (27:57):
You have to, but you also should be fair. People
to be fair with you.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Well, he's only fair when it fits him. I did
with that every day, Sean will get you out of here.
On this one. I'm looking at the schedule. Best game
this week is what is it? The Bill's Texan, which
obviously two three and one teams, two teams that are
trying to get a game. Well, you can maybe tell
me who you're liking that and also this one is
the actual win. Losses aren't great, But Ravens Bengals, this

(28:24):
might be doing die for the Bengals those two games.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Where are you looking at?

Speaker 8 (28:27):
Well, the Bengals are honey in the grave. We've already
had that funeral. They're done. Oh really, that's the most
unathletic defense I'm sitting in the NFL in a long time. Wow,
they're not stopping anybody with those eleven guys. They're trying
out there right now. So I think it's history for them.
So I think Buffalo and Houston is a big matchup
simply because Buffalo lost a little bit of their luster

(28:47):
in the loss of the Ravens. Can they get it back?
And Houston's probably is the most least talked about three
and one team in the league had not.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Like people had them going to the super Bowl. It
doesn't feel like that this year, does it.

Speaker 8 (29:00):
They played uneven but they ended up winning those games,
so we'll see where they are. They're balance some injuries,
but I think that's the marquee game this weekend, Stroud
versus Allan.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
All right, that's the man in that game. Who do
you like?

Speaker 8 (29:13):
I like Buffalo. I think Buffalo I got you Allen
are gonna be a real issue as we move on
in the season. I like Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
That's gonna be a good game though. Man, that is
gonna be a showing them coming to Vegas tomorrow. I'm
gonna be there for one night. I'm gonna tetch you.

Speaker 8 (29:28):
Let's touch the targets game.

Speaker 9 (29:29):
Man.

Speaker 8 (29:29):
You guys, enjoy yourself.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Appreciate you, Sean. Why you set that up like that?
You know you ain't got no time. You literally about
to be one night on See why would you do that?

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Well, because he could always.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
Come by the hotel and have a drink or something.
You're one of those people set it up, invite people.
Then how you put it all on Rob? Because Robb
is gonna hit him next week? Hey, you want to
join the show?

Speaker 10 (29:49):
No?

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Like wait, why Rob Parker didn't hit me up?

Speaker 4 (29:52):
See how you do that's what? That's what you don't
do that like that? Hey, I got an issue with you.
Just talked about it. We were just talking and to Sean,
NFL players are doing something I got to issue with.
I'll tell you what it is. It is the odd couple,
Rob Parker, Kevin Washington, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (30:08):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
The Odd Couple, Rob Parker, Kevin Washington can't get better
than the police, Are you kidding?

Speaker 2 (30:25):
No? I can't riot. I mean you can, but you can't.
But you can't. Many compliment to them, but I love
the police.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
There's a few other people you can put in that's
very New York of view, and never New York from England.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Oh England. This is a rock sand dude. My bad.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
At least I'll think yes, staying sting fucking flashback Friday.
We are flashing back. What is the sky?

Speaker 2 (30:44):
That what they call this type of Alex Scott. Yeah,
it's got like a SKA mix, a little sky.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Vibe right now. Okay, Actually, you know what, I've made
it three weeks. I haven't seen you really move like this.
I told you I'm in this state. Let me find
out this is your Damn. I've been here, I've not
seen you move like you.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Gonna remember I went to college in the eighties, so
this was MTV.

if I said to you, because I can do it, okay,
what was the greatest year of your life? Could you
could that you remember? And I'm not talking about getting
married or a kid, I.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Guess the answer for me, you know what I mean?
Junior year in high school? Okay? And what was it?
What year was well, the school year of ninety seven,
ninety eight? Okay? And why because it was?

Speaker 4 (31:56):
It was a It was a multitude of everything good, bad, fights,
life lessons, homecoming court, you know, just like everything was
good and bad. It was like a life starck I
could make a movie out.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
It's my point. Rob G. You got one, Alex Junior,
give me a gear. Just just twenty ten? What was that?
What was that? What was it?

Speaker 5 (32:16):
First start dating my wife, graduated college, got hired at
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
There you go, there you go. You've been here since
twenty ten.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
Oh yeah, rob G's been around five bringing out all
the vacation days, bro, all of them.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
I'll loan you something one day. He's just gonna be
gone for like six months straight.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Huh. Alec, you got a year in your life that
you could just think about your young years?

Speaker 12 (32:37):
You know, I'd probably have to say twenty eight okay,
and what that's year? I graduated high school Okay, fell
in love for the first time. Okay, got to move
out and get my own place because I got a
jomp through her and everything. Plus I was able to
get my first car all in one year.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Little That's what I'm saying. It was incredible.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
Now for me, it was nineteen eighty six, and that's
what made me think about this whole thing. Nineteen eighty
six is I started at the Day News at twenty
two years old, and I had all these great things
happen you know what I mean in that life in
my career, and I was like I had a glizzy
in myself.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
It was the first time I had I got.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
Wow, hey, you know those stories of visually ruined no
matter how you trying to come back.

Speaker 13 (33:22):
To that, like go ahead, and that's crazy ruin I could,
I couldn't rememby and the other one was And I
always thought about this, and you know how my baseball
guy growing up in New York and the Mets won
the World Series and I made it And that was
like the perfect timing for my career because I could
get rid of my fandom.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
I saw my team win a championship and and become
the reporter and let it go like that, and that
I always remember like like that's when I stopped being
a fan.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
That's a great seriously, now, then you got you got
out the game early.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
I did.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
I know a lot of us who were in this
business ended up getting that. You're still having people you
root for it everything, but you're not you know, And
I totally get what you mean.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Yeah, my you brought up my junior year.

Speaker 10 (34:04):
Man.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
It was just a lot of first if you catch
my drift, a lot of first uh that junior year
or freshman junior, I mean junior. Yeah, I ain't even
the first man up. I was four eleven, run around,
ain'tent through junior. Yea, he was four eleven. I keep
for yeah yeah four.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
The girls were.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Picking him up and that would be on their hip
and I mean literally picking him.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
They were just show Roger that did not they used
to pick literally pick me up. Oh you're so key.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
When you get a little older, they call me then baby, Okay,
right now you're too young and you certain things ain't
even dropped yet. But it was just like a like
a life lessons, you know how your favorite movie has
to have the good and the bad, right you get
you got, like you know we always talk about the
high school basketball championship was because I got cut my
junior year because I didn't show up to anything.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
I didn't know.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
I didn't, you know, not to get all deep, but
like I didn't have a dad in my life to
tell you, voluntary workout means your better show up, right,
you know. I just like, hey, when it's the tryouts,
I show up, I'll do well, I'll make the team,
and all that other stuff I didn't do. And so
I made I didn't make the team, and I was mad.
I was hurt, and I learned a life lesson. What
are you going to do about it? How do you
bounce back? Like I said, they got into some dramas,

(35:06):
some fights, made homecoming court.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
You know, it was just like a crazy year if
you were the homecoming king, not the king. Not the king.
So you're the jester.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
Uh Now I was a prince. Oh what I'm saying this,
you know, the first prince ann Arbor.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
Oh, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
But it was just a crazy year of good things,
bad things, wild things, life lessons like I really actually
living out here. I want to write a movie to it. Sure,
and you know a lot of the becoming of age.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
But I just wonder if people have like a thing
they do that they can remember when your life was,
Like you're like, I remember that in eighty six, if
I remember too, just financially, I remember just money flowing,
you know, like the economy like was good.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
I just remember, like.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
Life was good in nineteen eighty Yeah, I remember, you know,
was I was twenty four, twenty another year last quickly
I was at twenty six. As far as the other stuff,
you were mentioning that would be twenty sixteen for me.
You know, I was at the four letters, finally start
making some money. We just had my first daughter, We
bought our our first house. So like twenty sixteen, that

(36:03):
little run that was my like the big dog era
file of life. Like I said, had a kid, bought
a home in LA, you're established, you got a good
job in La. Like, so that was that year for
me as far as that, that's a great question.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
I like that. I just came off the top of
my head after that. Yeah, but that wasn't thirty six
you had your first glitzy I guess no, I did.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
No, man, good year, man, that was the whole transition.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
Wait, hold on, hold on, you got twenty twenty four.
You gotta transition.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
No transitions like it makes this weird. I know my career,
I didn't. I don't know about I have.

Speaker 12 (36:34):
Another job for Kelvin Hahn.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Listen, you said, I don't know it was ROBERTA. Parker,
you know, except you know what I mean, I cannot
do you want me to call my ex wife and
mans you just said you.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Unbelievable, You guys, just you guys are sick. You guys
absolutely sick.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
What if I got myself into that whole conversation about
social media and how folks keep getting themselves in trouble.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
We'll come back to that. You know, there's a whole.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
Lot to address because he didn't bring it up with
Sean King, about Antonio Pierce, and we also have to
talk about DeVante Adams. They're driving me crazy the way
that they're using social media and another player driving me crazy.
He's the king of doing it. Fox Sports Radio Kelvin
and ROBERTA.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
I'm a woman
