Talk coming up in about forty five minutes. And you
can hear my nose as soon as they got off
the plane. I don't know if it's allergies or whatever.

Speaker 6 (01:09):
I mean, Yes, you didn't wear a mask, did you?

Speaker 7 (01:13):
No?

Speaker 6 (01:13):
I did not come on, Rob, if we didn't learn
anything through COVID. You're supposed to wear a mask, brother, dude,
you're the rest of your traveling.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Life, you know all the time.

Speaker 6 (01:24):
You know, oh man, and I started being conscious of
that years before the pandemic.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
I don't know if it's allergies though, because it's you know,
sometimes you because I'm not sick. I don't feel sick
at all, you know what I mean. I know, I
get what you're saying.

Speaker 6 (01:38):
I've had the same thing we all have everybody's travel,
which is still why I tell you where hit some
flow NAIs before you go whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
You're a preferred allergic allergy medicine.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
I need something. Yeah, hit the flow NAIs and then
you wear your masks. Man, come on, Rob, you gotta
do it.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
It's forth brother, all right, you know what time it is, Kelvin?
Is time for some one advice like.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Around?

Speaker 1 (02:06):
So why not take it from a true professional. This
guy's good, really good.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Here's advice. All right?

Speaker 8 (02:14):
What's so, Martin? What's going on?

Speaker 9 (02:17):
Guys?

Speaker 8 (02:17):
How y'all doing?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Good?

Speaker 10 (02:19):
Man?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Good brother?

Speaker 8 (02:22):
How are you doing doing better than you? It sounds yeah, I'm.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Just yeah, that's what I feel like, mister Steph full forget.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, yeah, it's yeah, Alex get ready Alex knew what
time it was?

Speaker 8 (02:39):
Is that what that is.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I'm struggling.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Whatever that happened that day they made that drop is
happening now I had.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
A Glizzie in my mouth.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
I'll stop, all.

Speaker 8 (02:50):
Right, guys. So the first game I'm doing tonight obviously,
thirdday night football, all right, Forty nine Ers versus the
Seahawks is the Seahawks third game in eleven days. They
are tired, they're gas and they're missing some of their
best cornerbacks on the corner. On the forty nine er
side of things, everybody's healthy, buck Christian McCaffrey. On the

(03:10):
offensive side of the ball, I'm taking over forty eight
and a half in this matchup, plus the kicker, no
pun attended. The kicker Jake Moody will not be available
for this game. San Francisco will be incentivized to go
for more and fourth down. They'll score more touchdownsand field
goals over four day and a half for Thursday night football.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Man, that sounds like a lot of points.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
That's a lot of points.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
I don't feel good. I don't feel good on that one.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
And I don't know about I know that you just
said the eleven three games in eleven days.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
They are at home they're in their own bed, which
is one positive.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
And the forty nine ers, you know, they started out
hot against the Rams and they score two touchdowns in
the first quarter and then wind up losing. Uh was
that was that last week or two weeks ago? But
you know what I mean, they've they've struggled the last
couple of weeks. Two weeks ago, but they've struggled and
then holding on the games. Martin, I just I don't
do I trust the forty nine ers. I don't trust

(04:07):
them right now.

Speaker 6 (04:08):
Well, I mean, I'm actually with Martin and that I
think this will be both teams said, screw we got
to score a bunch of points right now. We got
to get this and a half. Yeah, I'm I'm over
that too. Forty brock Perty's played well. They just haven't
been able to get the actual wins. But he's played well.
And now you're telling me get some weapons back.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
I agree. I don't know who actually wins the game,
but I am taking over on this one.

Speaker 8 (04:32):
N I can't clear a side on who wins. I
still like the Seahawks shouldn't be as big an underdog
three and a half as they are, But like I said,
three starts, mens, I can't mess with it now. This
this game is is nasty and it's disgusting. But as
I said before, the best tickets are the ones you
take to the window. Last week, there's no way that

(04:55):
they took a gross class of offensive mismanagement to not
take the Bills money line to the window against the
Houston Texans. I still have all the same questions I
had last week, except Nico Collins is out. I'm taking
the Patriots plus seven. Okay, before you start.

Speaker 9 (05:13):
Rob Parker, rookie quarterbacks, you're even a better than rookie
quarterback Drake Beaks negative first start rookie quarterbacks this year
twelve and three against the spread and then five straight up.
I'm taking Drake May and I'm betting on the Patriots to.

Speaker 8 (05:29):
Keep it close.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Thok Kelvin because I'm buying that at all.

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Well, I totally get what you're saying, and I think
but I think it's a larger overview point Martin on
the lack of offense this season for most of the NFL,
more so than the way the young quarterbacks are playing.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
I think it's been that.

Speaker 6 (05:47):
But they say Drake May's look good, That's what we've heard,
but I think the Bills are I mean the text
of them. Sorry, I think they're playing well right now.
I think they're trying to continue to keep the moment,
and they got a big win last week, so I'm
gonna take they actually cover this uh and they start
getting some things rolling.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
I think the.

Speaker 5 (06:05):
Texans haven't played what the xpace. I know they're four
and one, but it's a it's a magenta.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Four and one.

Speaker 8 (06:13):
It's fool gas, Okay, you.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
Like they're four and one, but they really haven't played
like they did a year ago and everybody thought, oh
my god, they're going to the super Bowl, like you
can look at the record and go there right on schedule.
They're gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
But they haven't played that well. And I just think
they need to play well and they need.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
To put together a good game, you know what I mean,
kick somebody's butt and say hey, we're turning the corner.
And the Patriots might be just what the doctor ordered.
Right now, the Patriots are the general Hospital of the NFL.
Teams get well against them. So I think even with
Drake May, I'm not buying that he's gonna come out
hot as you know, chicken fish grease, thank you. I

(06:57):
was gonna say chicken grease. Uh, that's not gonna happen.
And I don't think they I think they lose by
ten Martin, I'm not buying into the drake may and
keeping it closing.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
The forty nine ers were the General Hospital. The way
they keep dropping guys.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
By the way, both of y'all combined talk about some
uh you know, foolghayzy. So that would be nine and
one teams between the Texans and the Chiefs. That neither
one of y'all that.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
But hey, fo.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
A minute, right, so you got like like thirteen and
one versus everybody else. But they're all foolghazy.

Speaker 8 (07:25):
Huh No, I'm just saying the manner in which they've
won seven points is too much. And Kelvin, here's a
little another nugget for you, CJ. Stroud two and seven
against the spread as a favorite of three or more points.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Well, only like one uggets from Chick fil A.

Speaker 8 (07:43):
But I hear you all right, Well, I know you'll
like this. The Lions and the Cowboys, one of them.
I think it's American's game of the week. Yeah, Americans
game on the week, I am taking the Detroit Lions
minus three. Jared Golf is a cover machine as long
as it's being air conditioned. Okay, thirty eight, eighteen, thirty

(08:07):
eight and eighteen against the spread on indoor games in
his career, nineteen and eleven against the spread on extended rest. Meanwhile,
Dak Prescott's the exact opposite on a football side of things.
The Lions are going to run the ball down the
Cowboys throat, and I understand that. On the other side
of the ball, the Cowboys offense, CD Limbs a great player,

(08:29):
and the Lion secondary got more flags than the last
game than you see outside of the United Nations. But
that's all they got. That's it, that's it. The line
will hold this ball, control the game, win this game.
This is a game lines by ten right here.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yeah, I mean I'll just jump in since the Lions
that's my team right there. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
I think the Lions are starting to pick up where
they left off. I mean, shoot, if they need a receiver, Martin,
you could just have Jared Goff lineup out there, go
catch you a touchdown too.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
You mentioned the running game. I will give the Cowboys credit.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
Last week They're like, Wow, all of a sudden, they
were able to control the run a bit, But they're
not gonna do that against the Lions because the Lions
will commit to the run.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
The Lions will.

Speaker 6 (09:07):
Stick with the run, and I obviously just punish them
with that and then they'll get a trick play here
or there as well.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I think the Lions continue to shine. I'm with you
on this one.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
I'm gonna take the Cowboys in this game.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
The Lions have lost to the Cowboys five straight times.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
This is a big game, There's no doubt about it.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
I think the Cowboys coming off that win against Pittsburgh
was big because they played terrible. They had three turnovers,
like they should not have won that game and they won.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
And their defense has been awful.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Somehow they stopped the run against Pittsburgh when they hadn't
been able Martin to stop the run at all.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
They have been awful.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
Maybe they build off of that win against Pittsburgh on
the road, come home and get another win.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
I'm gonna take the Cowboys in that.

Speaker 6 (09:55):
If they didn't pick up those flags or Dan Campbell
didn't go for two points twenty six times times last.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Year, especially after the penalty, right, Martin, after that was
the worst one was once they moved back then he
still went for it.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Now that didn't make any sense.

Speaker 8 (10:14):
Now, what really didn't make any sense is what I
saw yesterday while I was scrolling my Instagram. I believe
that you, Rob Parker, went on national radio where people
can get millions of people across the country and internationally
even can hear you and are tuning in for football analysis,

(10:34):
and you said that Patrick Mahomes is basically Daniel Jones.
And because Martin, because of that, Rob Parker, the wife's advice.
Bengals minus three and a half. All Right, the Bengals,
they're one of the worst records in football, one of
the best offenses in football. What Joe Burrow is gonna
do to this Giants defense is what Patrick Mahomes or

(10:57):
Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson are one of the other
elee quarterbacks in the league, We'll do to a sob
par defense. And what Daniel Jones will do will be
what he has always done, and that will be be exceedingly,
exceedingly exceedingly regular. All Right, that's what's going to end
up happening.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Wait a minute, let me give you the stats.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Daniel Jones six touchdowns, three interceptions, quarterback rating of like
eighty six point three, Patrick Mahomes six touchdowns, six interceptions
and an eighty eight quarterback rating Look at the Chiefs
in the red.

Speaker 11 (11:31):
Zone like thirtieth. I mean it has been a horror show.
Then picked Danny Dimes on this game? Then Rob what
against the Bengals? Yeah, yeah, now I'm not taking Danny Dimes.
I'm not saying, are you kidding Joe Burrow. We saw
what he did against Baltimore. He couldn't.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
He did throw the big interception though, which which helped
the Ravens be able to win that game.

Speaker 8 (11:57):
Martin.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
That was that he had five touchdowns, but he had
a big interception late in the game.

Speaker 6 (12:02):
Yeah, I'm BG, It's easy Bengals. I'm with you, Mark,
the Bengals, right. The Bengals are getting going right now.
Joe Burrow's probably Matt that he's leading the league in
all these passing statistics as getting ls, so I think
he's sick of it. And Jamar Chase is going to
chase his way to the end zone a couple of
times as well.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
So, yeah, gave me the Bengals.

Speaker 8 (12:20):
How about this? How about this, Rob, you want to
number all those touchdown interceptions?

Speaker 10 (12:24):
All that.

Speaker 12 (12:27):
Sports has a short menu wins in lor sas.

Speaker 8 (12:32):
Okay, Patrick Mahomes, Just let me tell you, like this,
Daniel Jones has lost more games in primetime.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
That's not what we're talking about. We're talking about. This
is not a Lifetime Achievement award. If you listen to
the show, There's no way I talk about his career
him matching up to Patrick Mahomes. I'm talking about the
right here, right now. Through five games this season.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Last year, Mahomes had fourteen interceptions. He played poorly last year.
I'm not buying all that I'm talking about right We're
now we can sit here and talk about his career.
It's no comparison. If we talk about his career.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
We're talking about how Patrick Mahomes is played this year,
which is not good.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
That's all the problem with that, Rod, go ahead, Martin.

Speaker 8 (13:17):
I was just about to say the problem with that
is Patrick Mahone's playing not well. Is just about Daniel
Jones playing as best as he's ever been. That's the problem.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
That is exactly the problem. This is the best.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
We're like, Wow, we're can lead the league in interceptions
and that is the best we've seen Danny Jymes play
right interceptions, then games played, Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 6 (13:39):
Really, if somebody came into the world and had a
couple of hits, you wouldn't say that, Michael Jackson, that's
what you're doing right now. You're trying to put a
couple of all right, Dale Dimes, Danny Dimes had a
couple of games, and now you're putting them up there
with Michael Jackson and Patrick Mahomes. That's the problem right there.
Rob absolutely got to relax with that. And I told
you they're tear my Instagram up because you have that.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
All right, that's the most act you had on your
Instagram in a long time.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
WHOA, don't be talking about the accent. Don't be worried
about it. Hey, I ain't got three kids for no reason.

Speaker 6 (14:07):
Now, that's right, just saying Martin Weise, we appreciate you,
my guy, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
Weis's advice, Martin appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (14:15):
I'll let you know how he We'll find out how
he did, and which is if it's anything like shecho city,
I'm nervous and.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
And coming up we're going to talk about Aaron Judge
and John Carlos, and we're asked about playing and performing
in the playoffs, and it was very interesting that the
two sluggers for the Yankees had different answers and guess what,
one guy's thriving, one guy struggling.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
So it's kind of interesting, and.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
We want to talk to you about whether or not
you know, hitting and playing in playoff games?

Speaker 6 (14:46):
Is it a mental thing more so, Kelvin than physical.
We'll do that also get your reaction to that as well.
Shop talk coming up in a bit as well. It
is the Odd Couple, Rod Parker, Kelvin Washington on TV
theme song Thursday, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Fox Sports Radio. It is the Odd Couple.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
Them up four to three?

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Called the Tigers, did they?

Speaker 1 (15:45):
But yeah, see it.

Speaker 6 (15:46):
I was just looking away. It was three to two,
and I turned back around and all of a sudden,
it's four to three. So yeah, well, we'll continue to
keep an eye on this one as they are.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
Steve de Sega will get us updated at the bottom
of the hour.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Of course you will.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
The Yankees your team, even though you act like they're
not definite queens. Yeah, yeah, definitely. Your guy is Aaron Judge.
You won't deny that, right, No, I love to watch
that guy play. I think he's this and this is
Rob G could tell you and and and that.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
Five years ago, I was saying he was the most
prolific This is way before you know what I mean,
the sixty two and all that, he's the most one
of the most prolific home run.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Hitters of all time.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
I've been watching him and I looked at him when
when the Yankees gave him a section in the stands.
You know this Kelvin the Yankees have never done that
for any individual. It's about the Yankees, it's not about
Aaron Judge or anybody else.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
And when they gave him the.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
Judges Chamber and the robes and the wigs and the gavels,
I'm like, this is different.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
I've never seen this. And I looked at this guy.
He's unbelievable, that.

Speaker 6 (16:59):
He's unbelievable until it's the postseason, and then he is
very believable. And that leads to the conversation that we're
having Aaron Judge and Carlos Stanton two obviously great hitters,
have had great careers, but one struggles more so during
the regular season kind of dry, fans crazy and Stanton
but then shows up in the postseason contrary to Judge.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
So tell them.

Speaker 6 (17:23):
They were asked this after a big win yesterday three
to two, Stanton with a big hole run getting them
to win, and they were asked, Hey, what's it like,
what's the difference between postseason?

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Why is Stanton able to do it? And they had
two different answers.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Yes, let's start with Aaron Judge first, that's just big g.
I think that's what he does in general.

Speaker 13 (17:40):
Every season he plays I don't think the postseason or
seasons any different.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
He just comes up with the hits.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
When we need him.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
And then here's John Carlos Stanton with his answer, the.

Speaker 13 (17:50):
Weight of the moment. I mean, it's the every pitch
can be the deciding factor of your season. So every out,
every pitch is accumulate of the six seven year years
of preparation for this. So you can't shy away from that.

(18:12):
You have to understand that and embrace it and quieted
and get it done.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Kevin, what do you make of this?

Speaker 5 (18:20):
Is that because there's a mental part of the game
that goes with it, not just physical that everybody's talented
if you're playing in the big leagues, you know what
I mean, the eight hundred jobs. Everybody's good. Everybody's good.

Speaker 6 (18:35):
I think this is a great conversation because as some
guy as guys who cover it, the sports, guys who
love sports, You and I.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Who just got a double stant we just got a
double first set bat, he get into a double play.
So I'm just trying to give you.

Speaker 6 (18:50):
The perfect timing, right, the timing gods they favor us.
My brother, you know, I think I bring up all
sports because you and I have been covering it. You
watch fans and it is always maddening kind of what
guy you named the sport who just has this issue
in the postseason versus and other guys. And we've argued
about this person I'm gonna use as an example, but

(19:12):
I think you'll get where I'm going with this. Eli
Manning is nowhere near his brother Peyton man and nobody
debates that. But I think there's a care freeeness that
he had when he go into the postseason, like almost
as if like, hey, I'm preparing, I did my job,
I've worked hard, but I'm just letting it hang. I'm
just letting him hang, you know. And I feel like
paid many everything has to be perfect. This is how

(19:33):
it's supposed to be. I planned it out meticulously, and
this is it. And when things get thrown off a schedule,
it threw them off. And we'd always kind of go, well,
that's not the Peyton manny we've seen in the regular season.
And I wonder if Gihn Carlo is just kind of like, look, man,
I'm ready for it. I've done the prep work. I'm
letting it hang. Here we go, and then you know,

(19:54):
Aaron Judge is starting to freak out, like, this isn't
how it was earlier, This is not what this is
not the way it was. I usually swing like this
and this moment I do this and it just kind
of throwing them off a little bit. Is that the
same thing happened in the Mookie? Is this the same
thing happening Mookie bets? Is so good for him to
go oh for twenty two is shocking?

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (20:12):
And it just wasn't right last year.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Did he?

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Last year him and Freddie Freeman had one hit, betwe.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Hit And so you just wonder what happens to these guys.

Speaker 6 (20:20):
And there are certain players who can just lock in
and say this at bat, this pitch, this possible swing matters.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
But there's always a.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
Conversation too about a clutch gene and not everybody's clutch.
And we talk about it all the time, you know,
I mean the perfect example would be Steph Curry. And
you know I brought this up before. Steph Curry has
made the most three pointers anybody. You can't argue he's
the best three point shooter that we've seen. But the

(20:50):
flip side is he's zero for twelve in the clutch
moment where you need a shot to tie or win
the game.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
How can a guy who's that great of a shoe
right as a He's.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
Another example, and Judge hits almost sixty home runs a year,
but he can't he strikes out all the time. In
the post, he didn't even touch the ball, Like, how
can you have those two sides? And you just wonder
to yourself, is it mental? Is there such a thing
as a clutch gene? We've talked about other players. Barry

(21:21):
Bond struggled for many years. Two thousand and two with
the Giants. He hit great finally and they still lost
the World Series. Uh so we've seen great players struggle.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Roberto Borman, Yeah, I get a chance to work with
Robert Ry.

Speaker 6 (21:36):
I get the chance to work with him with you know,
Spectrum out here in LA And we've talked a lot
about that, and he said it publicly many times over
the years. Big shot by big shot rob whatever you
want to call him, He's made some of the most
clutch shots in NBA history.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
And a part of that is because he said he
just didn't care.

Speaker 6 (21:51):
He just didn't care. He just shot the ball. I know,
I know it's a game winning shot to you guys,
But man, I'm just shooting the ball. My team needs
me to make it. I'm a shooting try to make it.
And he said that approach eased it for him. He
didn't put a lot of pressure on himself. He said,
I just shot it, hey, and I've been here before,
and I left the chips fall where they may and
it kept him at ease when he shot that ball.
So there's something to it. Let's carry this conversation over.

(22:15):
What do you all make of kind of the two
different responses from these two big hitters and Aaron Judge
Jean Carlos Staton for the Yankees.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Ninety nine on Fox, Go Ahead, eighty seven to seven.

Speaker 6 (22:26):
Ninety nine on Fox, reach out to us, we get
your thoughts on those, and we'll do that right after
we get to what is trending right now with Steve
de Sager.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Steve, guys.

Speaker 14 (22:35):
As far as postseason ball games in Cleveland history, they
had not had a pinch homer since nineteen fifty four. Wow,
So that's that what they got until tonight, a two
run pinch homer from David Fry and the top of
the seventh, So Cleveland is leading at Detroit four to
three now in the bottom of the seventh inning. For
the moment, the Tigers lead the best of five division

(22:57):
series at two games to one. Top seeded Yankees are
already up two games to one and playing at Kansas
City again. Garrett Cole on the mound against Michael Walker
and going to the bottom of the second it's one nothing.
New York in the lead on a first inning RBI
single from Juan Soto. Any game fives would be on
Saturday in the American League. Tomorrow, a Game five to

(23:19):
conclude that division series padres at Dodgers on Fox TV.
By the way, Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman is due
to play despite the bad ankle, but shorts dot Miguel
Rojas will not tomorrow due to his groin injury. No
starting pitcher was named yet. The Mets will travel to
Southern California to open the NLCS Sunday night. That'll be

(23:39):
on Fox TV, with Game two on Monday afternoon and
a Game three in New York on Wednesday night. In
the NFL game at Seattle, it's about four minutes to
go in the first quarter, scoreless forty nine Ers at
Seahawks San Francisco zero to three in conference, and in
these first five games, the Niners have only ten offensive touchdowns.

Speaker 8 (23:59):
Wow.

Speaker 14 (24:00):
First drive in the night went to Seattle and Gino
Smith threw an interception caught inside the five. It is
scoreless late first quarter, right now the Jets demotion.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
One's talking about forty eight and a half over yeah, okay, yeah,
over there.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I'll take you over to pick.

Speaker 5 (24:16):
But Steve, usually it's got a lot of points that
has to come up the last three quarters.

Speaker 14 (24:20):
San Francisco has just kicked a short field goal, so
three nothing the lead at Seattle. Late in the first quarter,
the Jets demoted offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Giants wide receiver
Molik Neighbors misspractice again with a concussion, and Raiders running
backs and Mere White missed another practice with a groin injury.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Back to you, thanks, Steve, appreciate it, Steve.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
So, Steve that since nineteen fifty four, that's when they
won the World Series, isn't it?

Speaker 4 (24:45):
I assume so with the yeah, the wasn't that to
the World Series? You mean the Willie Mays catch? Yeah,
not fifty four. Yeah, it wasn't it, So they wouldn't
have won it.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Willie Mays.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
Yeah, but that was I'm sorry they went to the
worst was their only other pinch homer. Apparently that's crazy.
It's the ministry for the franchise.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
But it's unbelievable when you see all these big hits
in the postseason, am I right?

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Like the home runs and guys, and the.

Speaker 14 (25:09):
Thing about baseball in general is that you have a
guy like David Eckstein or Pat Borders that can be
MVP of the World Series. Yep, that's just it really
doesn't happen much in the Super Bowl, for example, not
at all all.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Right, Steve appreciated eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 6 (25:25):
Yeah, that's right, coming to you live from the tire
rack dot Com studios, having a conversation. Just some postseason
weirdness that happens where you get guys who are just
known and they've been having amazing seasons and all of
a sudden, you just where they at. I can't see him.
Ain't the showing up there the postseason. It happens Aaron
Judge being one of those guys. We're getting your calls

(25:45):
on the difference between John Carlo Stanton saying, hey man,
you know, every at bat matters there's the pressure with it.
I'm there, I'm locked in, and Aaron Judge kind of
just saying, hey, you're just taking a bat back back
at each at bet like it's the regular seed, like's
nothing special.

Speaker 5 (26:00):
Here's well we got, we got somebody wants to John
min and if you do want to join join the conversation.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Hit us up eight seven seven ninety nine. O.

Speaker 8 (26:06):
Fox.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
Let's kick it off, though, Kelvin with us, Stanley and Maryland.
You're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
What's up.

Speaker 10 (26:16):
How you're doing.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
We're doing great, buddy.

Speaker 7 (26:18):
How are you?

Speaker 8 (26:20):
I'm good, I'm good.

Speaker 10 (26:21):
Hey, I'm definitely good right now because I'm a lifeblowing
New York Mets fan and we took we took care
of them. Tilter Delphiel filthy.

Speaker 5 (26:29):
Yeah, hey, I already know people. Yes, the Mets fans
are in their glory. We know that Rich Davis who
does Cavino and Rich Yeah, he is going Mets fan
and he's going crazy, crazy fight.

Speaker 10 (26:43):
And I also want to say this before I get
to the topic of John Carlos standing and Judge, I'm
predicting right now a second round of a subway series
because we owe him damn yankee something.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
Okay from two thousand from two thousand, huh.

Speaker 10 (27:00):
Right, right, So back on to the subject at hand.
I think the difference what I heard. I'm not saying
that Stanton is putting Judge under the bus, but he's
personally speaking about, hey, when it's time for the moment,
you got to step up. And basically what I'm saying
is standing steps up to those moments, and Judge just don't.

(27:23):
I just keep it as simple as that, Kay's keep
it simple stupid like we say in the Marine Corps.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
Right, But but I just wonder, like, like, you know,
maybe it just takes Kelvin thanks for the call to
the appreciate it, stand appreciate that, yep, Stanley. But it
can turn around. I mean, like, you know, Judge is struggling. Now,
does that mean he can't hit a big home run
in the next.

Speaker 6 (27:46):
Series, you know, off the you know, I mean, look
at we're looking at it in real time with Mookie.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
You know, Mookie's turning around. He didn't get he has
three straight home runs.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
Exactly, he would have had three and that was coming
off the OD for twenty two or what you know,
doing the over wanting to slump and and he had scuffling,
and who knows, Mookie might be the big man tomorrow
and actually lead the comeback and win Game five and
put them in to the NLCS. You know, so it
can turn around. And that's why you can't totally write

(28:17):
people off, you know, and say, well, he can never
he's not good in the postseason, or he never can
get it done or whatever, because because I think we
talked about that with the Celtics. You remember that the
Celtics were getting that bad rap.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
That oh, you know, Brown and.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
Tatum, they weren't exactly and can't they can't get it done.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Look how many times they've been to the conference finals
and they've been to the NBA Championship and they can't win.

Speaker 6 (28:48):
They won, But to be fair, listen, sometimes the criticism
is is not it is with merit, and it's warranted.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
And so you know, you got to show that they.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
Can't win, which I agree with that you I'm talking
about the absolutes when people say that people can't win.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
Aaron Joson all the opportunity to change the narrative, to
shut everybody up, and he has the chances to do that.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
You want to go to Robert in Indiana. Let's do it.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Robert, you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
What's up, Robert?

Speaker 12 (29:16):
Hey man, I'm glad you took my call. I just
want to mention keep it with let's keep that analogy
with baseball.

Speaker 7 (29:23):
The greatest, the greatest player during stretch time, during playoff time,
Reggie Jackson.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
Mister October, No, you don't get Hey, Robert, you don't
get that nickname.

Speaker 12 (29:40):
You know, right there you go, So we don't have
to use Steph Curry as an example.

Speaker 8 (29:47):
You got your mister Clutch right there, nout.

Speaker 5 (29:50):
A doubt and Reggie like for people, young people listen
to the show, just go look up Reggie Jackson to go,
Robert like they should look at the nineteen seventy seven
World Series where Reggie Jackson hit three consecutive home runs
on three consecutive pitches against three different pictures.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Do you know what I said?

Speaker 3 (30:14):
No, that's absolutely ridiculous. That is un that is ridiculus.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
What is that the biggest feat you ever saw? Three pitches?

Speaker 12 (30:22):
I witness that, I've seen that. But don't forget that
he was missed it, Clutch with.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
Oh yeah, they won three World Series in a row
with Reggie Jackson.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
Right, no, without a doubt.

Speaker 6 (30:34):
I mean, listen, listen, Robert, thank you for the call.
The name says it all right there, you know what
I mean. And credit to Derek Jeter, who some people
like to say, you know, he wasn't as talented as
this person, he wasn't talent as that person. All we
know is when it was time to make a play,
Derek Jeter made a play. And so that's where you
get these names. That's where you get this the lure
and the mystique around you.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Just squeeze, yeah, let's squeeze one more wrin. Thanks for
the call, Robert. Thanks rating yep, you in California.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
You're on the EYD couple of fox sportuiting what you got,
Jim Oh he dropped, okay, drops either way.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
But that's the point, man.

Speaker 6 (31:08):
And you know what interesting thing about situations, rob before
we break here is that one of the things I've learned,
they say, is when you get those first couple of
opportunities to make a difference, to make a change, to
be clutch, and you don't, those things stick with you
for the rest of your career, even if the narrative
changes and you are clutch. People like to always say,

(31:29):
you know that person ain't clutch, or the opposite. If
you get a few chances to be clutch and you
show up then and then all of a sudden, that's
just you permanently, even if you miss those chances next time.
Our brain just does that the first few times we
get to see you, those first few perceptions, that's how
we stick with you.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
So Aaron Judge is running, Yeah, he's running out of time.
This is the season to really get it done.

Speaker 5 (31:49):
Well, especially since the Yankees having one, you know one
since he's been there and they haven't been to the
World Series since two thousand and nine. If he changes
that and gets some big hits and hits a home
run again, get them into the world. You know what
I mean That people will forget about the will not
be thinking about that. They'll be thinking about going forward
and trying to get this guy going. But it's it's

(32:10):
a big enough of a sample size where you can't
ignore it anymore without doubt it.

Speaker 6 (32:15):
Hey, shop talk coming up. Don't miss that. We got
some stuff to talk about that I entertain you a
little bit. Also, keep you updated on these scores going
around between football mob postseason. We'll hit you with those
as well. It is the Odd Couple, Rod Parker, Kevin
Washington and a TV themes song Thursdays. You know what
I'm gonna do it for my boy rock stick and
stay America. It is Fox Sports Radio and we are

(32:40):
the odd couple. My man, Rob Parker, I am Kelvin
Washington on a TV theme so on Thursday, thank you
for rocking out with your voys coming to you live
for the tire rack dot com studios. Hey, are you

(33:03):

Rob Parker, you want to have some fun brothers. Time
for shop talk, Let's do it.

Speaker 8 (33:15):
You know what about barber.

Speaker 6 (33:16):
Shop and the d It ain't nobody you talk about
whoever whatever whatever you want to in the ballat shop Talk.

Speaker 15 (33:24):
I'll never count Rob Parker out for giving you a
drop even for an intro to a segment and gentlemen,
This is probably one of my favorites, because I've said
this multiple times in The Illustrious. I guess you could
say catalog of the Odd Couple. If we were able
to do a podcast called behind the Glass and talk
about everything in the world outside of sports, or just
sit down and just do guide talk in a shop,

(33:44):
I know for a fact, number one, Rob would not
get fired. Number two we could finally have some really
fun and engaging conversation that Rob can finally be Rob.
And three I think it'd be just dope to see
our perspectives outside of sports, one of them once in
a while. So we condensed that and made this segment
called shop Talk. So Jenn, go outside of the sports.
Something interesting has came across my topic. So Rob, I

(34:05):
know you're an Illustrious Marvel fan and love superheroes.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
I know you wear the shirts all the time.

Speaker 15 (34:09):
Oh ye, Choker two is out in theaters and now,
if you haven't seen the first one, it's basically emphasizing
the mental instability and downfall of the Joker, and for
some reason, Hollywood said let's do another one. So Ron
Tomato says it's terrible. IMDb says it's terrible, and everybody
who saw it said, I feel even worse than the
first one. And I'll tell you this, I've seen the

(34:31):
first one. It's hard to walk out of it feeling
good when that's supposed to be a movie, when you
really sit down and think, this is a real thing,
and this is kind of hard to watch. So, guys,
my question to you is kind of simple. Are we
in a place now where number one, we got to
stop doing sequels just because it's a money grab. And
number two, is there even a sequel out there a

(34:51):
movie franchise that you think is actually doing right and
is really good.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
So we'll start with you Ron.

Speaker 5 (34:56):
Yeah, I'm not into the sequels. I think sometimes there's
very few that are really good after the original ones.
Like I love the Planet of the Apes, the original
Planet of the Apes, Charleston Heston, great movie they made,
like nine Planet of the Apes or whatever it was,
you know what I'm saying. And some of them are okay,

(35:17):
but but I just it's overkilling. I get why they
do it because people already know it and they don't
have to, you know, get people to figure out why
if I'm gonna go see it or not and maybe
I was a fan of the Planet of the Apes or.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
Whatever it is. But even Alex, you know, the whole joker.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
And this guy's like psychotic and sick or whatever.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Who wants to go see that? And then like you say,
see it twice, like this movie is terrible.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
It's terrible.

Speaker 16 (35:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
Because also if they would have done it a sequel
based off of the first one, then all right, well
maybe I could see that. Joaquin Phoenix played the heck
out of the role. But they made it a musical.
Then nobody ask them the La Lah landed, they'd have
made it a musical. Alex, as you know, I haven't
seen it because everybody's telling me not to. I'll tell you,
but I will say this, I'll give you both. And Rob,
you're definitely gonna be a fan of the first one

(36:05):
because it was in the eighties. I'll give you no one.
I'll give you one, but listen, you'll feel me. Top Gun,
Top Gun, Maverick, Top Gun Maverick was very, very fun.

Speaker 3 (36:16):
It was a fun movie. They made it thirty something
years later. It was nervous.

Speaker 6 (36:21):
Yeah, it was really good. So you're like, I don't know,
can they pull this off? And you could argue it
was better than the first ones.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
It was.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Yeah, but Hollywood has gotten lazy.

Speaker 8 (36:29):
Man.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
They just go lazy what we did?

Speaker 5 (36:32):
So we make from They go like what was made
thirty years ago? Let's let's make a new movie.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Hey, Rob, you know what?

Speaker 6 (36:38):
I knew they were lazy, Robin, Alex when they decided
to make Paul Blart Mall Cop two. Didn't nobody ask
for Paul Blart the first one, let alone a part two, Alex, why,
That's when I knew. I was like, they've given up
creativity thinking finding something new. Thank God for like Christopher
Nolan out here in the streets trying to make some
real dope creator even if he does a movie the Batman.

(36:59):
He yea are Batman movies? He does them different and
you need but I will run through a list, guys
real quick.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Oh I'm run through to make sure we get in
and Alex real quick in that as well.

Speaker 15 (37:09):
Yes, okay, I'll shoot real quick. I just call this
the Netflix effect. And the reason why I say that
is because any of the primetime directors, writers, et cetera.
The constant stable money is on Netflix's or streaming platforms series.
It's not Hollywood anymore, because so many of these things
get rejected because number one, it's millions of dollars in
investment from multiple parties in big studios where Netflix, you

(37:32):
could literally sit down with the head of Netflix tell
them a joke at a coffee shop. Now you have
a stand up special. So I really think like the
money has moved, so it's actually lowered the sense of
creativity in Hollywood and also the divert and it's to
get you into a theater. People sit at home now,
I kid you not like when the New Movies dropped
within five days it's on Amazon.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Pa, oh yeah, I've see.

Speaker 15 (37:52):
What does it matter anymore? Like nobody cares. It's it's
just it's simply it's lazy. And again it's money. And
I think, honestly, no sequel that I've seen him out
besides as you mentioned, which is top Gun and also
here's a sleeper one Beatlejuice. The newest one was actually
really good, Like god, the cast was great, the bringback
of everybody in the comedy Michael Key like it was.

(38:13):
Actually I sat there and left. I said, thank god,
a sequel is actually good.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
What about you?

Speaker 4 (38:19):
You're a young guy, Ian yeah.

Speaker 16 (38:22):
I mean, like I I'm surprised no one's brought up
the Pixar thing yet. How they actually maybe you guys
didn't even know that, but they actually had said that
they were gonna stop making sequels entirely after Incredibles two
came out. They were like, that's it, this is the
last sequel we're ever gonna make. And now they've gone
back on that entirely. They've announced Incredible three in fact,
so it's like they've entirely gone back there.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Yeah, totally embracing Bob.

Speaker 6 (38:41):
I come back and Bob, yes you are the boss man,
came back and said, let me tell.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Y'all what we are going to do.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
I want to come money.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
I'm gonna throw some out at you. I want to hear.

Speaker 6 (38:53):
I think we all agree. Uh, Terminator two was great, right,
Terminator two was great? Yeah, Empire strikes back. Okay, that's
an obvious thing.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
Yeah, that's the greatest sequel ever, I think.

Speaker 6 (39:03):
Well, some would say the god Father Part two. Some
would say that one. What No, Alex, I will come
in there right now and I will come to your hair.
Don't make me get in my car, come cut your
hair right now. How dare you right now?

Speaker 3 (39:17):
What else? Are some good ones? There?

Speaker 6 (39:18):
They some obviously some and you mentioned animation. You got
the toy story ones. Avengers Infinity War was incredible, so
was in game. They got those, right, I'll give them that.
But Hollywood, if you're listening to the Odd Couple, step
your game up.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
There's some young talent right now that can right the
heck out of a movie.

Speaker 6 (39:34):
Find some new, young fresh people out here in these
streets and get us some new contents, some new movies, right.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
No doubt. We need something fresh and new.

Speaker 6 (39:43):
Yeah, I'm glad you all feel me on that. Hey,
I'm excited about this man. Rob the Lions do? The
Lions need to prove that they can finally beat a
team that they haven't beaten in five attempts. Will tell
you we're talking about it is the Odd Couple. Rob
