Speaker 4 (00:53):
Tire buying should be and coming up in a about
twenty eight minutes, Adam Kaplan of course, Fox Sports Radio
NFL Insider will talk to him, get some NFL stuff
and if you're tuning in, just tuning into the radio.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
It is four nothing.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Yankees over the Dodgers in Game five, Yankees trying to
force a Game six Friday night here in Los Angeles,
and the big story is that Adam Aaron Judge is
awake and a lot I didn't want home running the
first inning.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Like his face, he looks a little too excited.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
And they showed that last game last night who hit
the home run the Volgegrand slam vope, So they show
him and Aaron Judges kind of like showing him something
like I see this and if you do this and
need any boom, he hits a grand Slam. So I'm like,
I don't know if Aaron Judge is starting to wake
up and see stuff, if he gets the matrix eyes
right now, it's all coming clear.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
I don't like that. And that's what what you call it?
What's you call on?
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Alex rod Riguez said, yeah, right, last night, rob Ge, what's.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
He know about baseball? Just a little bit?
Speaker 4 (02:00):
And he said the thing he didn't like was that
they allowed Aaron Judge to hit and knocking a run
in that big eighth inning to give him confidence coming
into today. And of course a walk to Soto Jack
Fiery just didn't have it. He pitched one, what did
he pitched one in the third innings? Didn't have it
and boomed the two run home run, and then Jash
(02:21):
Chisholm has also been struggling.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
He smoked a home run.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Duco knocked in a run as well, So it's for nothing.
The Dodgers have no hits through three innings and Garrett
Cole is pitchingest thing.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
It reminds me of what a Rod was asking for.
It's kind of like when you watch an NBA game. Okay,
Stanton just hit a home run two Yep, No he didn't,
did he yep?
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Right?
Speaker 4 (02:46):
And that and going the other way. He's been incredible
during the postseason.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
I was talking about him so much at work earlier
today my other job. How he ain't swinging for nothing else.
He has the most violent swing. It is home run
or strike out. I want to see the game because
I missed it. I turned my head. I was it
was it was just off the bat, you know, yes,
(03:11):
just because it but it wasn't. You know, he didn't
smoke it like he has before. He not a Dodge
stadium before, but you knew, you just kind of knew.
You can see the uh obviously Brazier just.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Like a shoot. Well, this is the bullpen is ready
to go.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I guess right off the bat figuratively and literally, right
off the bat. The bullpen is all right. So so
let's get to some NBA talk and we want to
do this. Uh and Rob G, we want to bring
you in because there's a big matchup right figurly and
literally two bigs NBA and Wemby are playing right.
Speaker 7 (03:45):
Yeah, in about thirty minutes, it is the national game
after this Boston Indiana showdown on ESPN.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Indiana's beating Boss. They all score.
Speaker 7 (03:54):
They give him some issues, only you know, because they
play that up and down style to you. So if
they get hot, you know, can anything happened. It's got
a little chippy too.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
I like it. I love it.
Speaker 7 (04:02):
And so the nightcap, though, the marquis event, the one
everyone's talking about is the battle of the seven foot
lanky dudes Victor Wombenyama, Chet Holmgren. These guys have been
going at it head to head basically for four or
five years now, when they were all in teenagers, rookies,
rook it second year and then last year. Apparently, though,
(04:23):
according to a report out of San Antonio, this game
tonight means a little bit more for Victor women Yama
than any other game.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Take listen.
Speaker 8 (04:32):
It is not exactly candy Man, but Victor will not
even say the man's name. And that's pretty much been
the theme ever since Victor women Yama riding to San Antonio.
Let me give you an example. Monday night, we specifically
asked Victor win Minyama about the matchup with Chet Holmgren.
This is what he said. He said, I'm excited to
get back to the win to winning ways. It's always
(04:54):
a good challenge to play Oklahoma City. And he said
he watched every one of Oklahoma City's game and now
didn't hear it was him?
Speaker 9 (05:02):
He chit holding.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
He does not mention the guy's name.
Speaker 8 (05:05):
And I think it's because you know that there is
a real budding rivalry here.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
There is no rivalry because everybody knows guess what, oh boy,
everybody everyone.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Knows a swim one more time, Alex.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Everyone knows it's swim.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
I ain't gonna hold. I hate to tell you he
has no rival I'm sorry. Chat.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
As good as Chet is and everything, Wimby is supposed
to be a generational player, somebody. We've never seen a
guy that size handling the basketball, shooting three one driven from.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Half courty dunk. Am I right like rival no in
the same space.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Can I just tell you something. So far this season,
and it's very early, chet is looking insane. He's given
a now again. Keep in mind, I'm just simply saying
right now, not comparing him, but he's giving you Tim
Duncan Elijah on numbers right now, twenty four and thirteen.
I'm not gonna lie. I didn't know Check was doing that.
(06:15):
I thought Check was giving you a nine, sixteen, seventeen
like last year.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Chet is out here giving.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
You twenty four and thirteen on fifty six percent shooting
co few assists as well. Three that man. Listen, I'm
not saying he ballin. I'm not saying he can't play.
Ronni's checking in, but Wimby is supposed to be in
a different spot.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Is lebron still in down by twenty.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
No, I told you they're gonna They're not gonna. They're
gonna let bron be out and just let Bronni have
his because that would be the worst part is if
they did that, You know what I mean, obvious, we
still got five minutes, But now if they mess around
somehow get it down to ten or something. Maybe that'll happen.
Uh women and Yama to be fair, Lebron's got on
his well, but that's what I'm saying. They all of
a sudden get it down. But I respect this. I
(07:03):
do respect this because he's just a guy getting to
blow out and playing it right. That's what they So
I'd have a problem. Yeah, so why we agree on this?
Speaker 3 (07:11):
All right?
Speaker 1 (07:11):
So cause if you're on the bench and this is
where you're supposed to be a blowout, go getting there finished.
These last five minutes, we're down twenty two points right now, Wimby,
to be fair is averaging twenty and twelve. So the
NBA is loving right. You're you got these two young
stars who've been hyped up, as as Rob G said,
for a few years now. We've been hearing about check
for a while and then all of a sudden the
(07:31):
last couple years, you're like, who's this Winby Guy's he
really gonna be that good? The only thing I'll say, Rob,
whether it's an actual rivalry or not, in the sense of,
you know, like, will it live up to the hype?
Speaker 3 (07:43):
I love the smoke that these young guys want.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Like I like Wemby like, I don't even want to
say his name, like you know what I mean, Like
it's it's on, you know, it's on. Don't even ask
me about him his own. I love Aunt Edwards because
Aunt Edwards is with.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
All the smoke.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Did you see what he did the other night with
the New York fans they were playing New York.
Speaker 6 (08:04):
He ain't.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
They're like, oh Man, you just before the game or
after the game.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
I just say, they're screaming, oh Man, ant Man, ant Man,
come to New York. He said, I ain't coming to
New York. Y'all boot people, y'all boot y'all best players.
When they have one game, one bad game, y'all boo them.
He was like, a y'all can't be loving me in
and hate me the next day. So I love these
young guys coming back with rivalries, coming back with smoke.
And I think Wimby, as you mentioned, is supposed to
(08:28):
be this transform transformative, transformative player. I think it's gonna
be a battle between he and ant of who's the
face of the league. Ant's obviously a few years older,
but I think ant Man is right there. Once Lebron
leaves in the year one, Steph, you know, it just
becomes not quite as good. I think it's ant Man's league,
and I think Wimby will be right there. But I
(08:50):
think it's ant Man's just from a personality standpoint and everything.
I think ant Man is the guy, from his personality
to stuff he says he wants all the smoke, he
talks trash, I think it's his. It's gonna be He's
gonna be the not that's not the face.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
I think it's harder because Wimby has a chance to
win the MVPs with the numbers and the stuff that
he's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Able to put. You gotta have the ws.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
You gotta win as well because you got to be
there in the postseason and all that. But I think
that's the part that is going to give Wimby the
leg up on ant Man.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
I'm not so sure he's winning MVPs. Well.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
I think a man is in position to have a
better shot the next two to four or five years
just because he has a better team. You can't name
me a Spur outside of Chris, Paul and Winby and
Pop like Pop is like does he count as naming
the Spur? Like there are no Spurs that you can
even know me. But I'm just talking about the numbers.
Stand but you know what I mean, Like you're gonna
have to be top four in the West to get
(09:47):
an MVP vote. That's just the way it is, even
though you can have amazing stat like great example, to
your point, he should have been defensive Player.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Of the Year last year. No he shouldn't. Now you
don't think so? No, you and Chris agree with on
that one. Why do Why not?
Speaker 1 (10:00):
I just didn't think so. They won seventeen games defensive.
He was insane the numbers. When he was on the court,
they were like one of the best defensive team. The
minute he left, they were trashed.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
I don't think he played in a meaningful game though,
all year, except for maybe Game one and that, and
that's part of it where uh Rudy Gobaer was playing
in games that mattered.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Anthony Davis too, and one of they shouldn't have been Rudy,
but whatever. That story for another day. But my point
is a similar to that point, that you gotta win,
and I don't think Wimmy's in it gonna be able
to win for another two or three years. They just
don't have the talent and it won't be him. Not
a single one of us will be like, Man, they're
losing because of Womby. Wommy's spectacular he wants you know
what I love about it? Again, remember that era we
had were like, we all were like, man, these young
(10:45):
dudes don't really care. They just cashing checks and kind
of like that that weird year era we had a
few years We're like, they're all frat and eyzing. I
like these young guys, unlike his approach. I love that
he loves the game, he wants to play and all
that idea he wants. He doesn't want, uh people with
trying to crown them too fast. Though last year right off,
(11:06):
when you start mentioning him at Michael Jordan and this
and that, and I just think, yeah, but I think
that that just sounds a little crazy to me.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Yeah, but I like him.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
And if one person could stop joining the n RA
and John Morant trying to get his NRA A A card,
he could also be the face of the league or
right there, you know, the young two or three four
faces of the league, These younger guys. Uh, he's spectacular.
We kind of forgot because he was just out the
season with all the drama. If he could just stay
off the NRA, his website and just play basketball. Man,
(11:35):
you got John, you got you got Wemby, Shae Gilgers, Alexander.
I mean, the league is in a great position right
now with these handful of players that they have moving forward,
because you know, you always get worried, right like Jordan Leeds,
who's gonna be the face of league? God bless the dead,
Kobe Bryant Leeves, who's gonna be the face of the league. Okay,
Lebron and Katie and Steph, they're starting to leave a
little bit. Who's gonna be facing the league? I think
(11:55):
the league is in good hands, and I like a
little Ribers. I like him one smoke with Check.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
You need it. We need rivalries and beef and drama
in sports. It's fun, all right.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Who will be
Wimby's biggest rival moving forward? That's what we want to
find out. Does he even have one? We'll continue that
conversation next with you. It is the Odd Couple on

a rival because he's acting like chet hogrim is his
wide rival and uh won't even mention the man's names
(13:26):
like candy Man or Beetlejuice. He won't mention him eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox we're talking about that. Or
if he's not his rival, then who is? Or will
web you ever have one?
Speaker 4 (13:35):
Randy in New Orleans joined the on couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
What's up, Randy?
Speaker 10 (13:39):
What up?
Speaker 6 (13:40):
Randy?
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Randy? What's up?
Speaker 9 (13:44):
Happy to be here with y'all and his worship Wednesday,
Jesus is King. That album was dope, man, that was
a great album.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Yeah, yeah, I appreciate that.
Speaker 9 (13:52):
Yes, sir, when you look at it, I just say this,
Uncle Rob, when you look at it. We don't really
know if Wemby will have a rival, right because Mike
had had the Pistons, he didn't necessarily have a player rival, right,
And you look at Lebron, I guess you could see
him and Steph had a rivalry, but that was in
his career.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
It was Cobe, the.
Speaker 9 (14:14):
Thing about the the thing about the Kobe thing. I'll
say this, they never really played enough truth kind of
like that's kind of like how we gauge it when
you talk about the NBA. Right, But let me just
say this, if Check and Wimby grow together in the West,
then they will have big time series going forward in
the Western Conference Finals if they both stay healthy and
(14:35):
their teams continue to grow. So I'll look forward to
seeing them go forward. So I would say this probably
would be his rival.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
I appreciate you and be awesome to see you Rob
the Revival. Thank you, Randy the big Man. Remember the
Big Man was extinct for like five six seven years yow,
So it'd be awesome to see the big Man come back.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
All right, who else we want to go?
Speaker 4 (14:52):
Yeah, let's go Brandon in Riverside on you. That's why
you're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
What up one on?
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Guys, Hey, it's five to nothing. We just want to
give you an update. Five nothing in the bottom of
the war. The Yankees are leading the Dodgers in Game five.
Speaker 11 (15:11):
Oh man, and Dodgers fans getting nervous down.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
They're good man, they're good man.
Speaker 11 (15:17):
They all right, No, that's not a rivalry, not yet.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
They you know, like, can't he's on a he's on.
Speaker 11 (15:26):
A good team.
Speaker 9 (15:27):
Because that's the difference.
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Wembley is not on a good team.
Speaker 11 (15:30):
So he's gonna have to become an amazing and then
their matchup always look at when they when they have
because they're going to be two guys that can actually
guard each other. Yeah, it would have to be like
both players, right, putting up twenty five plus fifteen, ten
and fifteen rebounds, just dominating the game, and that will
make it to a rivalry. Like like you just said, count.
Speaker 12 (15:53):
A couple of minutes ago, Like just get that big
man match up back, because we haven't had that the
nineties basically because Yah never had, right, he just went
against all the good teams and stuff.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
That's a that's a good one with shot because it
was no real rival.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
I mean he hello, he came, Elijah Won. I like
to have a word with y'all. Now, he dominated the
league during that time doing his run? What what was?
Who was once he got to the Lakers? All right,
that's what I'm time? Run? It was all right, what
am I doing this?
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Like?
Speaker 3 (16:20):
It was forty four.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
And twenty in the finals, just like bringing down Rims.
It was ub surd Aaron Judges up by the way
and I'm nervous, all right, Rafael, And he did it
again in the couple of radio.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
No he didn't. He looks like he.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
Brother, what's going on? Rob Pie and special k Hey,
uh yeah, it's Wimby and Check for me right now,
their skill set, their their builds, and and the way
they kind of played more and so out on the perimeter.
But one thing about it, man, they compete hard against
each other. And I love that. And I think that's
(16:57):
going to carry on. The two teams Fan and Turner
is going to have to come up a long way
to match what OKC has right now. But I think
for the time being, it's Check and Wimby. Man, they
go each other hard. I love seeing that for two
young brothers.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
You know what, Ruffio, Man, I tell you what. What
I love is that we're starting to get, like I mentioned,
these young guys who care and they compete and they
want it.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
They want to play.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
They don't want to sit out, they don't want they
want to go at it.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
Now, it's mind boggling that young guys don't want to play,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Like, I just can't get over that.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
That's that, man, They're getting that so early where they
don't they know, they're just getting spoiled and kind of
getting it the way they want. Man, these guys, these
young dudes want to smoke. And I love it, man,
to see the skill set and uh, and that they're
living up to the hype.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Again.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Chet had mixtapes all over YouTube and all that stuff,
and he's actually living up to It's great to see
and winby.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
All right, Uh, Dre Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the
Octop Sports Radio.
Speaker 13 (17:52):
Yeah, you're doing Thanks for taking the call. Listen to
Chet and Wemby. They seem to have a homegrown right
we're going back to when they.
Speaker 14 (17:58):
Was battling AAU.
Speaker 13 (18:00):
Those guys just generally don't seem to like each other,
you know, and it kind of carries over onto the court.
And I like those two in the Western Conference. For me,
I got to see Wemby against the Joker. I think
that's the man that that's the the unicorn that he's
going to have to usurp ultimately in the Western Conference
to cement himself as the predominant force in the West
and then kind of overall in the league. So the Joker,
(18:21):
he's the one that was doing things that we didn't
think a center could do, statistics off the charts, and
now with what I think that's the kind of I
don't think. I know he has that prototype. And but
add to it, he's a great defender, which Jokers is not.
So he can impact the game defensively, blocking shots, changing shots,
getting out and guarding all five positions, whereas that's not
(18:42):
the Jokers. M So I love Cheton Wenby. You know,
these guys, you know, classic, you know, just don't want
to speak to each other. But but he's going to
have to do more in terms of MVPs and championships
in the Joker. When it's all said.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Done, no doubt.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
What do you make of tonight the Yankees Dodge is
shocked five nothing or not.
Speaker 5 (19:03):
Not at all.
Speaker 13 (19:04):
I think the analytics win win a rite because I
agree with what people have been saying. Dave Roberts did
hold back and he was trying to you know, I
think he wanted Tonight is the night where he was
gonna have his ballpen and you know that they were
going to make a stand, and the Yankees are just
s team rolling them. So I think there's there's real
concern because it all comes down to Game six. You know,
you got if they who If the Yankees can win
(19:25):
that Game six, it's anybody's ball game, and they have
all the momentum in the world. So I think they
made an analytical mistake. They should have won, you know
when they had to.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Go for the juggular when you have a chance. But
I keep saying like they were down. No, but but you,
but you can't give it up for the cars. I
appreciate you can't get make it a two game.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
A two one lead into a five or six where
you're out of the game as well. So as soon
as the guy struggled, you got to get him out
because you're trying to hold it to two so that
you have a chance to win.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
No, that's all I get that. And and he mentioned
game six. I picked Dodgers and six. But the point
is that's the one because you lose that all the
pressure on you right now. While the fans may be
nervous if the Yankee Dodger fans, if the Yankees win,
you're still like, man, they still gotta win two more.
But that's game six. Rob Man for somewhere rubbing his
(20:11):
hand like bird Man feeling. He's like, yeah, Adam Kaplan's
gonna join us, talk some NFL. It's one of those
crazy days. We didn't get a lot of NFL talk.
Man so much going on all this series up in
the world. They even mentioned judges. Catch dude, No, he's
balling right now. I don't like to looking at Winkoln
having fun. I don't like I like this feeling himself.
I'm not feeling that. Adam Kaplan in just a second
right now.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 3 (20:43):
All Yeah, that was you guys are going overtime between
the man.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
They were down man Rob and I looked they were
down twenty at one point. The Pacers gave it up
at home going over time. They still have a chance.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
But that's a big I mean, that's what happens when
you're you know, champion and are you just you believing
in Big shot by Jason Tatum took a contested three
to time and that's the guy couldn't get off the people. Yeah, which, seriously,
that was a little I don't know, Steve Kerr want
to smoke with him.
Speaker 6 (21:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
That was a little weird. All right, thank you be fan.
Joined right now by Adam Kaplan. We're coming to you
live from the Tireck dot Com studios he is a
Fox Sports Radio NFL insider.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Ready to uh have some football talk, Adams. There's been
so much going on.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
You got the World Series, got a few good NBA games,
some great conversations that we've had.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Usually ninety percent of the shows football. We canna get
some football label with you man.
Speaker 6 (21:34):
Oh good man, good guy's gonna talk to Yeah.
Speaker 10 (21:36):
Look, it's we've unofficially reached the midway point of the
National Football League. It's been a great season so far.
Lots of storylines. We got the trade deadline coming up. Yeah,
unless of the week to this Tuesday coming up. It's
been a fun couple weeks, no question about I want.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
To start here.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
And Kelvin and I went back and forth on the
Justin Fields Russell Wilson.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
Oh that one is.
Speaker 4 (21:59):
And Russ has looked good to me. Yes, I mean
he really really looks good. He can throw the ball
down field. The offenses seemed what what do you make
of of? Because it seemed like, uh, Mike Tomlin the
whole time refused to just say that he wasn't going
to be the quarterback one start and here we are.
Speaker 6 (22:19):
Well for let's go back to training game.
Speaker 10 (22:21):
So I was with the Steelers for a couple of days,
and they made it pretty clear to me that Russell
Wilson was going to be the start of the season
really no matter what unless he got hurt. Well, he
had the calf injury, then he had set back with it.
So they made a decision, let let Russ get the
calf well, get it to one hundred percent, and all
of a sudden, there they've got I think there were
four and too.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
A good start, yeah.
Speaker 10 (22:43):
But field for here's the thing, the last two starts,
and even Justin won a record saying it, and I
would agree with him. Had he played well in those
two games, they were not gonna bench him.
Speaker 6 (22:53):
But he didn't. They won in spite of him. I mean,
he just didn't play well.
Speaker 10 (22:56):
And you have to understand their son Russell to be
the starter, So you got to not perfect ball, but
you got to play where there's no question that there's
no way you're gonna you're gonna get benched. And that
didn't happen. So that's why that happened. And now I
would caution people, let's get through the rest of their schedule.
They've had a great schedule. Someone of the Steelers pointed
(23:18):
this out to me before they start the season, how
good their schedule was, and it's born out.
Speaker 6 (23:22):
I mean, they're six and two at the buy.
Speaker 10 (23:23):
I'm told they're they're they're really looking to get a receiver.
I've heard they really like Mike Williams of the Jets.
We'll see, let's see if they could work that out.
The Jets play tomorrow night. But when you look at
they still got to play the Commanders in week eleven,
that's on the road. They got to play Baltimore twice,
They got to play the Eagles in Philly, got they
got to play the Bengals and Chiefs. Their schedule, which
(23:45):
has been one of the best of the National Football League,
gets way harder for the final stretch.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Well, I mean, I mean they would never go back
to him, would they.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
I mean, being justin Field's like, when you make this decision,
is it a just this is what we're riding rust
the rest of the season.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
You do think they'd go back.
Speaker 10 (24:00):
The only way, Calvin is that it'd have to be
really bad where these things. I got to be honest
with you, folks, I've covered this business twenty seven years.
Ninety percent of the time it's obvious. This one was
a little bit odd because Field's had a winning record,
which you rarely get bench we have a winning record,
but I'm telling you the final two games crushed his
chances was starting, and I get why they made the change.
(24:23):
But now the other one, I'm sure you're gonna want
to talk about the Colts one.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
That was fascinating. He has a lot to unpack.
Speaker 10 (24:29):
We don't have an hour, but I got you give
me a cliff notes version if you want, well hit
us with yes please. So basically what happened was Shane
Stikeen and he confirmed it today on the record. It
was his decision. Jim marseiy really a new input. Jim
Mersey has gotten involved in personnel decisions. He he more
or less made the call when they when they were
gonna get rid of Carson once he won him off
the football team. But this one was a more of
(24:54):
an overview and optics. And when your quarterback ask out
of the game because he's tired, and he goes on
the record that says that I'm sorry, folks, you can't
go back to the quarterback. There's no way that you
could have started richardson this week. I know the way.
Coaches think it's embarrassing. The quarterback is the is the
leader of your offense. Your quarterback does not go on
(25:15):
the record and say he asked out, I'm sorry make
something so.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Well, he never play again for the Coltons.
Speaker 10 (25:20):
No, rob No, okay, they want him to be the
quarterback next year.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
Joe Flacco, by the way.
Speaker 10 (25:27):
Joe Flacco, by the way, is probably better than at
least half a dozen to a dozen quarterbacks in the
football league. He could still sling it. And I've known
Joe since he was twenty years old. Twenty one years old,
Coveredhi when he was at University Delaware. It's remarkable to
what he's done. The reason why they're in the player
phrase is because of Joe. He played great before they
they went back to Richard and Richardson hasn't played well
(25:48):
since early in his rookie season. By the way, he
played really well before he heard his shoulder. Yeah, we
were talking about that yesterday.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
Has been the same.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
We argue with one of the scouts.
Speaker 10 (25:56):
Yeah, no, but he's really sure flash immature. I tell
the truth here. I mean, this is my job. He's
super immature. It's not just this dumb thing he said
he doesn't get it what it's like to be a professional,
and now he's going to get it because he's going
to watch the rest of the way unless unless it
becomes their tooth waves that he can lose.
Speaker 6 (26:17):
He cannot that Joe fla would lose a job.
Speaker 10 (26:20):
Hey he gets hurt or be he's so bad that
they have to get him off the field, which I
can't see happening. Flacco put the Flacco is the reason
why the Browns made the playoffs last season. Yeah, now,
his last game wasn't good when they lost against the Texans,
but they've got if you've seen him energize the team,
(26:40):
it's it's crazy.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
Joe Flacco's play was so good. That's why he's not back.
Speaker 10 (26:45):
I could tell you is a fact that I think
Watson felt threatened by Flacco, to be honest with.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
You, Yeah, I mean I can see it.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
He was out there looking like I call him like that,
Joe Flacco, John Wigg He was like hit man for
higher kind of.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
He was just he was just going with team right.
Speaker 10 (27:00):
You got to Kelvin have arm, will travel And I
felt based on people I spoke with that and that's
why Alex Van Pelt the OC was fired for no reason.
He was fired because he was part of the Flawow experience.
It's my opinion based on people I spoke with. But
it doesn't matter now. Uh look at you, But look
at Jameis Winston slinging it last week.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yeah, he was a treasure. By the way, his sound
bites are amazing. How about the Dallas Cowboys?
Speaker 6 (27:23):
Where do they go?
Speaker 4 (27:24):
I mean, what a disaster. We know that, Adam. They
didn't do much in the off season, and people questioned it.
What were they doing? They bring back Ezekiel Elliott? Uh right,
mistake just for because he didn't cost him a lot
of money or whatever it was.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
It was crazy.
Speaker 6 (27:39):
We know you're actually right about that.
Speaker 10 (27:41):
So they they thought with Rico Dawdell, who's been a
good story of development as an undirected free agent some
years ago. But he's a backup. They Dalvin Cook, they
brought him off the scrap peak. Dalvin Cooked. The Jets,
I'm told didn't want him back. They like him personally,
but they just didn't think he can play anymore. So
you've got a hodgepodge running backs. Jerry Jones has going
(28:01):
the record say they're not making any big deals. Leonard
for Net's out there. I'm told that so far they've
not been on him at all. Who I know, Leonard Forget.
I forgot all about same draft as Dalvin Cook, by
the way, So they got to do something. It's they're
so bad, you know, it's unbelievable. Guys, how bad are
(28:22):
they at home? They haven't won in nearly nine months
at home their last four game home games, going back
to the Green Bay game where they got blown at
home in the playoffs, They've given up one hundred and
sixty seven points in the last four games, nearly forty
two points per game at home.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Right hard before that they won sixteen in a row
before this stretch.
Speaker 6 (28:44):
Yeah, they're so.
Speaker 10 (28:45):
Bad at home now, and they've Mike Zimmer. I mean,
they clearly aren't playing the right way, the way that
Zim wants. Knows him a little bit. He's got to
be frustrated. So where do we go from here? They're
locked into the next contract that he's not going any where.
They'll get Brandon Cook back eventually as one of the
starting receivers. But I know dak was it has been playing
(29:06):
poorly lately. But folks, the defenses is awful. It's just
it's hard to understand, and it's a big reason why
they are now three and four. Now, listen to the
stretch of games they have coming up. Tell me where
there's gonna be a win at Atlanta home against the Eagles,
home against the Texans. So I know that they have
some injuries, but they're still versutive at Washington. Yeah, all
(29:27):
of those could be l's. I mean, even Atlanta's slinging
the ball around.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
They got what they call him now, Kirk o bangs
Kirk Cuss unbelieved.
Speaker 10 (29:34):
Guys, he's ridiculous. Coba comeback player of the Year. Wow, Yeah,
he looks great. Hey, Adam, thank you as always, Adam Kaplin.
We appreciate you, brother, Thanks guys to see you all right.
Ah man, we were gonna quickly.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
You got bases loaded for sho Hey, Yes, this is
this a moment or what?
Speaker 4 (29:52):
No, this is a moment for nothing. The Yankees have
been sloppy. Aaron judgement, an easy fly ball to center
field and then the ground ball is short was yeah,
but it was a bad throw by Volpie. Soll uh.
The Dodgers have a shot. They still have life in
this show.
Speaker 6 (30:12):
Show.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
He's hurt, he's hurting, he's trying to kill.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
I think he don't care if his shoulder just cont
these swings, if his shoulder just keeps flying out the centerfield.
He's like, I don't give a dang. I'm swinging. This
is a huge moment for him, for this team, for
this game. Uh, we got last call if you hadn't
been able to get in, we got a lot of

I know we're supposed to do last call, but Bagg
and Felix, you gotta hold on, Felix.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
We gotta explain what just happen?
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Was five nothing Yankees and they came undone? Yes, Garrett
Cole walked the first guy and then easy pop up.
The center field judge dropped it like just for an error.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
He looked.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
He yeah, he kind of already was looking at first
Bakes and that split little second took his eye off
the ball with his glove and he lost it. And
us coming out after that, he was he shook by
this and then sigh, that was so that was first
and second, and yet nobody out ground ball soft ground
(32:40):
ball is shortstop and Volpie was going towards third.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
He throws it a bad throw that bounces. Chisholm can't
handle it. So then that was all that That base
is lower end.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
Then he comes back. He strikes out, looks looks powerful.
Ye strikes out Old Honey. With the bases loaded, Mookie
Betts hits a weak ground ball of first base and
they don't know what to do.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Rizzo like thinking that the Cole was coming or whatever
one of the bag. And then so that set it up.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
That was a run set up for and then the
greatest baseball player to ever live, Freddy Freeman, comes up
and that Monthy is so overdue right here, you're right,
months he is so overdue.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
None he's done yeah, he's done. You gotta take him.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
I mean, part of it is he's mentally gotta be
sure Cole has gotten five outs to sendate. He's looking
at his team like Alex Q, my Tyrese, what Marty
you want from me?
Speaker 3 (33:50):
That is how Garret covid when he you know, he is.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Gonna have so much smoke with his own team when
they getting if they lose, he's smacking everybody.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
But this is like the right now, he's cussing him out.
This is the worst inning I've ever I just cannot
get all.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
This is going down like the play the Dodgers didn't
even hit the ball hard and and he struck out
with the bases loaded and then showhy like that was
the big moment right there, and Garrett.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Co Look, he's all swallowing hard. He's nervous. I mean,
I think you feel bad for him. It wasn't his fault.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
No, no, no, this is not He was cruising.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
Judge started it with the with the miss easy pop up,
and you know that's what you know, that's what he
gets for winking and feeling good.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
And I'll tell you this right here.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
Here's the the worst part is that they're leaving him
in and and I know it's early, it's still is
just a fifth end. You're not losing, But I just
I think either home run or something bad is gonna
happen because.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
He's out of it. He shuts out. He just walked him, right,
he just walked an who doesn't have anything.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
That's good for getting a walk. Boy, if jaywalking was
a thing, still months he'll be in trouble. Keythk Hernandez,
by the way, one of the greatest postseason hitters. Who
that because he's such a just utility player throughout the season,
serviceable but not great. Now he turns into freaking big
poppy in the postseason. Uh so we'll see what he
(35:15):
does here. But this ended up being a great game
in rob Manford Is. I mean, obviously, whatever happens, Yankees
come at you know, finished the job and win this one.
Either way, it ended up being a great game for
all of them.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
I've never seen a team ever just disintegrate and on
the plays they're always playing, getting out was hard, exactly
a single one, and the judge won. I mean, you
can say whatever you want, but you cannot miss that.
I mean, it couldn't have been easier. And uh, here's
another situation.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
O two.
Speaker 4 (35:47):
You try to get him out and he gets a hit,
and then the Dodgers are leading.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
It's an unbelievable Their bullpen isn't that great. And I
think that's just the whole vibe of the team. Let's
see they can finally make a play late. My five
runs in the fifth.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Man.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
All right, last call, thank you, Felix. You want a
last call here on the couple.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Last it's last call, last call. Time on the odd couple.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
All right, Felix, you're on the odd couple. What's up, buddy?
Speaker 14 (36:27):
Yes, I was just thinking. I know the Super bowls
one game, MLB and the NBA does seven game. I
know there's a lot of money into this, but I
think the format. I'm just wondering, would the format be
best for MLB and NBA to do one one game?
Speaker 1 (36:44):
No, no, you're saying to get rid of the series,
to play one game, not a one game sport and
you can save the best.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
Yeah, that's not fair football.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
You can't play right, you can't lose too brutal like
you wouldn't make it. We appreciate the car though, Feelix,
and I understand your point. But no, no, no, no, I
love this Svies.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
It's because they throw away games too, you know. So, yeah,
you know what. I'm about to throw you away.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Okay, I'm about to throw you away, Alex Well keep
bringing up Yo, this is amazing.
Speaker 5 (37:11):
You know.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
I always make fun of Rich because he just sticks
around and like doesn't go home. This might be the
one time I do that, Like I might not. I
might not go home right now with Sam. No, yeah,
he's still here. There's no way Sam is still here.
There's no Ri's Davis Oh, Rich watch the Mets game.
I was watching the Mets game. He's always say Sam,
are you still here?
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Sam?
Speaker 2 (37:32):
Go ho?
Speaker 3 (37:32):
Sam's gone.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Absolutely, we'll see them all for a TV theme song Thursday.
My goodness, man, well you ain't seeing me. I'm sticking around.
I'm going I'm staying right here.
