Baseball obviously Game five of the World Series.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
But first, but first, let me welcome in my partner.
He is mister Kelvin Washing. Calvin was what's up man?

Speaker 5 (01:58):
We do?

Speaker 4 (01:59):
We had a whole lot to her.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Of course, Man, I know on the TV this morning
where people okay with the loss in LA.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Do the morning. Yeah, And we had folks out there
in New York.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Surprisingly, uh, most fans were okay with it, as if
to say, and it'd be fair. None of us walked
into the series saying before God Anna swift the Yankees
or the Yankees' gonna sweep the Dodgers. I said, Dodgers
and six, and I think you had what you have
Yankees six. Yeah, So like nobody expected it. So most

(02:31):
people felt good. You know how you have your nervous
Nelly who's nervous at any and everything.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I had those guys I saw old and polonies on Twitter.
It was like, man, I'm flipping over to some basketball.
I'm tol nervous, like like people are on edge like
watching these games.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
And that's the trouble when you win your division forty
two times in the last forty three years, like the
Dodgers have done that, the challenge is, folks, say all
and it's your own fan base, not just you know,
the average viewer. Your own fan base is like he
go again, see every time I get invested, every time
I put my trust back in you Blue, this is

(03:06):
what you do.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
And so you started to getting little of that. And
by the way, I told you on the show.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I started our show, on my new show, The Morning
Show with the broom yesterday. So I'm sweeping and everybody's
mad at me. Everybody's mad at me because they're like, oh,
you brought up the brooms. Oh Tani, you know, didn't
get any hits because of me, as if the Yankees
get a Grand Slam, because boy, that Kelvin Washington sitting
in the studio in LA brought out a broom. But

(03:33):
those superstitious folks got all mad at me yesterday after that,
after that loss on the Dodger. But no, most folks were,
even Yankee fans were like, all right, all right, we
got one feeling good, but we're in a good place.
I think, even as just a fan of if you're
just watching this, it's in a good place.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
One hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
And you know baseball is hoping the numbers of waiting
to continue to go Scott r two percent increase from
Game four this year versus last year.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Right with the Arizona and Tech. Yeah, I mean that's
almost that's that's crazy, right.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
That's what we knew when you got LA literally the
cities of LA in New York let alone, the fan
bases who extend all over the country, really all over
the world.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
I mean we talked about it. You know Japan is
doing crazy numbers. Well they're doing like sixteen sixteen, Yeah,
million people watching in a country that's way less people
than the States. So that's crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
They show some shots of the folks there, bright and
early in the morning watching show Hey and the Dodgers
and excited. So this is great for baseball and you
love to see just when like I'll give you an example.
Your absolute favorite sport, the WNBA. Hello, is this on
your favorite sport? Even had a moment, you know what
I mean, whether whether it was good or bad or

(04:43):
Kaitlin Clark this I hate her, I love her. They
had a moment and now you want to take that moment.
You want to run with it, wan extend it, you
want to grow it. And baseball is having a moment.
Not that as if baseball was didn't. It has a
massive fanly. Baseball is baseball. But you get what I'm saying,
where you got the wishless right? They've been looking for
this for a long time. I was born when it's
the last time.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
I mean, nineteen eighty one is a long time ago.
And for a lot of people have never seen Dodgers yank, And.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
It seemed like I had, like if you just askedtop
maybe not a super super baseball family. Okay, yeah, yeah,
I was like ten years wait, no, wait, not in
my lifetime, thirty six or something, not.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
In your lifetime at all. And so there it is.
It is. It is amazing.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
All right, let's welcome in the odd couple, Coop, because
you wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him. Rob g is our producer Alan who was
in there you and Baseball Talk.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Like he he wore out, He gave you what ten minutes, Alex.
I was so proud of you, Thank you, Rob. And
also at the same time, why the heck am I
wearing Dodger blue. I was about to say, you got
the Dodgers. You've got the Dodgers.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Imagine being a fan of a sport and you your
allegiance is so deep you can sit there and be
happy about them throwing away a game when you can
close out and win a championship in the way. All
I'm saying is, if you're a Dodger fan, you should
look in the mirror and really look at the team
you're supporting, because they just to you, we don't care
about you physically. There we go, and we're oh because
if we lose, Oh that's awesome. Just lose then man,

(06:09):
there we go?

Speaker 1 (06:10):
All right, man, I mean immunity shot. That's where that
boy is fired up.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Brian Finley's at the anchor desk, and of course Elijah
is our social media gurule.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Let's go right there.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Alex is hot on this, yea Alan, And his point
is that Dave Roberts.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Basically gave up last night's game.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
That's what people feel like because they were only down
by two going into the last inning.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
Right, that's a winnable game. It's not out of.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Reach if you're if you're down game one, right, if
you're down by five, then I understand not burning out pictures, right,
because you need them. Baseball they play game three, four
and five or three days in a row, so, right,
so you don't want to waste pitching on a game
that you can't win. But some people have been critical
that Dave Roberts basically through the towel and like, no,

(06:57):
I'm gonna be loaded for bear for today game five,
but I'm giving up a game that you led to
nothing in the first inning on Freddie Freeman's home run,
who's been incredible, and you were only down by two
right in the in the eighth inning, so you were
within reach of trying to win that game.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
And it was obvious that the pitcheon that they had
and didn't have anything. Yeah, Landing, that was Landing wack.
I mean, he didn't have it at all. Which is
nickname was snacks and he was giving up snacks.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
But yeah, I'm I'm not as mad as maybe well
clearly alex Is and maybe a couple of Dodger fans.
I didn't really hear a lot of that just living
here in LA and obviously, like you said, doing the
show and kind of being.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
You know, all the analysts on like MLB Network, ESPN.
It's just the idea that you're conceiting. Yeah, why are
you giving up a two run game? Here's why I'm
giving it up.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
I'm not giving it up in this sense of uh,
just automatically doing him. I'm hoping that the bats can
maybe still make something happen. But to your point of
the other half of a game, which is pitching, I
can't burn these guys out. And the bullpen has been
great throughout this most of this postseason.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Had hiccup here there, but they've been great.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
And I think that he's looking at it as their
ace is going up against our ace. You know, our
bats are going up against their bats, and we still
they gotta win four in a row at that point,
now only three. We're good because we have to go.
We our main three pitchers are gonna be up next.
Will be fine. We still have a chance to a
get Freddie Freeman's on fire, Mookie's been hitting well, some

(08:28):
guys have been playing well. I think he's betting on
the odds. And as we know, nine of the last
ten teams who had been up in that position that
swept them. We know nobody has come back, except that
four the Red Sox against the Yankees. So I think
he actually is taking the analytics of it's a borderline
impossible mission for the Yankees to do.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Now anything is possible. Somebody's gonna do it at once.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
And here's the thing, because you said it a winning
four games in a row, but it's not. That's not
what you're doing. You're winning one game at a time.
You can't win four. So it's just one game. And
that's why the whole idea is not never to let
them off the mat, Like how long, you know, hold
Aaron Judge to that? How long is Freddie Freeman gonna
hit a home run in every single game? Do you

(09:11):
see show Hayes two for twelve. He has the identical
numbers as Judge as Aaron Judge, and everybody's down on
Judge because the Dodgers are winning. So Freddie's heroics have
covered up that shoes right.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Without a doubt.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
But I still think again, just looking at the numbers, man,
looking at the guys you got coming up, I get that, indeed, yeah,
And I think also to me too, it was that
it was the eighth if it were, you know, maybe
a little earlier in the game where you felt like
we still got an opportunity again on both ends where
we still got more at bats coming. It was already
in the eighth inning where they we can say they
gave it up if you will, But I think he's

(09:47):
just playing odds. Look, these guys have pitched a whole lot.
They've pitched a whole lot throughout the season too, not
just in the postseason. And I need these guys, as
you mentioned, is back to back to back. I'm gonna
let some of these guys get rest who had already
pitched the game prior.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
I'm getting them some rest.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
I'm keeping my best arms locked and loaded ready hoping
I can get six out of Jack Flattery, uh Flarity,
and then be able to come in with the guys
and Blake Tranning close this thing out and we're World
Series champs. So I wasn't as mad that. I can't
understand why somebody felt like you gave a game away.
But you got to credit the Yankees. They were hitting,
they hadn't been hitting, They've gotten Uh. What you don't

(10:23):
want is you don't want them to get their hitting right.
And that's why.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Because the other thing, too is when you think about
last night's game, it's not about like, Okay, well I
got my guy Flarherity right and and the bullpen ready
to go. They have their ace pitch true so so
and he very well game, he pitched right exactly, came out,
he didn't lose the game. He pitched really well. He
gave up one of one run or two runs. But
but in uh, in this game, you're like, okay, so

(10:51):
they won this game, the bullpen game or whatever, but
we were in it. We're up to nothing or we
weren't getting onen't eleven nothing after three innings.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
I get that. I'm not pitching anybody. I got Max
Munsey out there, throw exactly I would.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
But that game turns into their age the next day, which.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Is and if they win, your feeling good.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
No, I'm you gotta feel good because you always got
to just win one. But you know this, You saw
it in basketball where the Cavaliers came back again down
three to one. Nobody in NBA history, NBA Finals history,
had ever been down three to one and win a championship.
So it's always scary that when you don't close somebody out,
that you give them more life. And each day or

(11:36):
each game or each win, they start to feel better about.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
The Dodger players talked about how for them, it's kind
of the point I was saying earlier, where the Dodger
players are looking. Man, we didn't come in here thinking
we were gonna sweep, But we didn't come here thinking
that Yankees aren't a formidable foe. They're here for a reason,
and it's one of the rare times in baseball, Robberts,
you know, we got the two best teams, and it
usually doesn't happen that way. I was talking about that earlier,
how you get random teams like how they get in

(12:00):
you know, like Arizona, Arizona, it could have been the
Tigers where you go like how they find a way
to get in here. So you actually got two of
the two best teams, formidable foe, and their process with
these guys weren't just gonna lay down.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
They weren't just gonna quit. So I'm not I'm not
mad at it.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
I can I can understand anyone feel like you concede
or gave up a game, But this is a long
The point is to win four, right, and this is
and I got seven cracks at it, So I think
Dave Roberts is playing a long game and the fact
that that's that cushion. That's why game three was so
pivotal for them being up three to oh, not being
up to one or now, you know, being up three
to oero. I had that luxury of trying to figure

(12:36):
it out in real time if I'm gonna go for
in game four or go in game five?

Speaker 3 (12:39):
All right, Coming up next, we're gonna go live to
New York Dsha Thosar, who is a writer and columnist
at Fox Sports.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
So we'll talk to her.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
She's at Yankee Stadium getting ready for five game five.
She'll set the scene. We'll talk about some things with her,
you know, the scuttle but where people are talking about.
And Garrett Cole's on the mount for the Yankees against
Jack Flowery. So we're expecting a good one. Either we
got a new champion or we got new life in
this world fun.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
I mean, listen, dude, I said it goes six, but
if it if it goes to game six, that's gonna
be listening.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Man. This is exactly what Rob Man for.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
By the ways, by the both Robs, Rob Parker and
Rob gee Man been feeling a little not feeling good.
If it goes to game six, I'm all right, I'm alright, yeah,
just you know, just man, I'm feeling good. If it
comes back to whatever, like, I'm not gonna see you there,
I'll be there, all right. It is The Odd Couple

(13:39):

Speaker 4 (13:40):

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Don't do Jesus like that on a worship. Surpribly forgetting
about it. He saved you from a tire hitting in
your car.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
That's right, thank God.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
On Coming to you Live from the Tyreck dot Com Studios.
We're joined now by Dsha Throsor, Fox Sports, MLB reporter
and columnists. Out there in your town, brother, New York City,
which so nice they named it twice, yet that is
New York, New New York, Dsha, How are you do
we have her?

Speaker 4 (14:40):
We have do? We got Dha?

Speaker 3 (14:42):
There?

Speaker 7 (14:42):
D yeah, there we go?

Speaker 4 (14:44):
You got yeah, we got you now?

Speaker 8 (14:45):
We got you?

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Now?

Speaker 1 (14:46):
How are you thought my singing was that bad? She
just was like, you know, I'm definitely not talking to
him right now. That's it was because I didn't think
it was that bad. How's it going out there? What's
the what's the buzz like in New York? They got life,
they got a game. How what's it feeling like?

Speaker 4 (15:00):
It's been good?

Speaker 9 (15:00):
I mean, the fans are definitely hyped. The energy yesterday,
right after Freddy Freeman hit that home run again in
the first I was like, oh, here we go again.
Took the air out of the stadium. But really, after
Rope got back with that Grand Slam, everyone's in on
a huge high. Of course, with today Garrett Cole going,
they've got to be feeling good about it.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
How about you know the criticism of Dave Roberts are
basically giving up. If they were up to nothing, they
were only down by two. A bloop and a blast
you could have tied the game or whatever. And then
you leave in, you know, a reliever who obviously didn't
have it and got beat up, and so he was
kind of well, you know, I wanted to be ready
for tomorrow with Garrett, you know, going against Garrett Cole.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
What about the criticism of Dave Roberts.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Yeah, I think he's gotten away with it now, right.

Speaker 9 (15:47):
He did this against the Mets in the NLCS and.

Speaker 5 (15:50):
It worked out. I mean, their first bullpen game.

Speaker 9 (15:53):
The Mets were completely on them for that. And then
when they came back to New York and he tried
that tactic of sort of punting with Jack Flarity on
the mound that time, because clearly Flerty didn't have it.
He was during ninety mile power fastballs. He just didn't
look right and he left him out there. Basically Flarity
had to wear it. So that's kind of the same
tactic Roberts went with yesterday. I think if it didn't

(16:14):
work out the first time, then we could have seen
maybe something else yesterday. But they have a lot of
room right to work with they still have a three
to one series advantage. I think he deserves the criticism.
Of course, you shouldn't punt the World Series game, but
at the same time, he's looking at.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
It the long way.

Speaker 9 (16:30):
Right now today he has all of his high leverage
relievers ready.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
To go because he didn't use them yesterday.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
But here's the issue, and I hear that and it
couldn't make sense. But the scary part is letting somebody
up off the mat when you have them down. And
that's the idea because you say winning, they got an advantage,
but the Yankees can't win three games tonight. All they
can win is one game, you know what I mean.
And that's the scary part.

Speaker 9 (16:57):
Yeah, definitely, I think more than that. I mean, sure,
they got the Yankees off the mat, but Aaron Judge
looked really good yesterday. I know he only had I
think the one hit the left to show for it,
but that looks like the Aaron Judges that we've seen
in the regular season. So even sure, they got the
bottom of the order of the Yankees going, but I
think what's dangerous and punting yesterday's game for the Dodgers

(17:18):
was now this threat is Judge is going to be
himself from here on out for however long the Yankees
can extend this World Series.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
That's the scary part for them.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
And the flip side is can Freddie Freeman hit a
home run every night?

Speaker 4 (17:30):
I mean, he's the greatest baseball player of Vollye, Like
maybe you know what I mean? His gun is empty,
like he's in a whole four straight game. No, it
does not look empty.

Speaker 9 (17:41):
It's possible, but then right, we haven't seen shoy Otani
really break out yet either, so he could be the guy.

Speaker 5 (17:46):
It's not like they're really lacking threats in that Dodgers lineup.

Speaker 9 (17:49):
If Freddy is tired, he needs a day, he's kind
of spent, then they've got two other huge guys and
more down that lineup.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
And that's what I was going to ask you, Dsha
and by the way, being joined right now by Dshit
thos Are Fox Sports MLB reporter and columns Dasha on
Twitter X, that was what I was going to ask you.
Being there, we obviously know that he is hurt, but
he also hadn't been the show hay of the regular
season thus far either, So are we seeing a I'm

(18:18):
trying to work through this shoulder issue or is he
just struggling period? What has it been looking like kind
of being able to get a closer.

Speaker 9 (18:24):
Look, Yeah, closer look. It definitely looks like he's in pain.
I mean, if he's trying to hide it to What
stood out to me was during player introduction in Monday's
game three, he was the only one in the donder
line of wearing a jacket over his full uniform in
an attempt, I think to cover that sling, that harness
that he had over his shoulder. So going about it

(18:47):
that way, it just makes me question what else is
he hiding? Right, how much pain is he actually in
that he's it does not look good when he's running
the bases.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
He's even going from first.

Speaker 9 (18:57):
To second while holding his shoulder in place. That's been
a threat that kind of has been taken away from
for the Yankees, at least they don't have to worry
about Otani. But what encouraged me yesterday was his hit.
He got a really nice hit with an exit velocity that.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
I was surprised by.

Speaker 9 (19:13):
So if he can do that yesterday and now each
day that he gets removed from that partial shoulder dislocation,
he's only going to be feeling better. So in many ways,
Otani's always going to be an enigma, of course because
of the language barrier and just how much he decides
to share. But I think that can be an advantage
because we were not expecting him. Most are not expecting
him to kind of come out today with a bunch

(19:35):
of home runs. But I think he certainly could.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
We've seen the TV waitings.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
The World Series is doing very well and maybe at
first in the first two games where nail binders and
these games have been relatively interesting and down until last day,
until lasting when the Yankes.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Blew it open.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
But do you you know, like for a sport to
try to live up to the billing, And thank god
it was a four game sweep, because then that would have,
you know, taken the air out of this. But this
has a chance, if it goes six or seven games,
to be an epic win for baseball as a whole,
not just for these two teams.

Speaker 5 (20:11):
Oh yeah, epic, you said it.

Speaker 9 (20:12):
I think already with yesterday, the Yankees managing to not
just win, but the way they did it. With a
guy like Anthony Goldfi who's rooted for the Yankees, his
whole life with him being that guy I think really
galvanized the team. If he can do it, then why
can't there others start do it?

Speaker 5 (20:27):
And it helps the fan base.

Speaker 9 (20:29):
So right now they definitely the momentum is in the
Yankees favor.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
They have coal going on.

Speaker 9 (20:34):
The man that can't be stressed enough.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
I think what I.

Speaker 9 (20:36):
Haven't seen from Cole in the postseason is really a long,
gritty start. If he has like one hundred and fifteen pitches,
he has to use.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
All of those bullets.

Speaker 9 (20:45):
I need kind of Aaron Bood to just leave him
out there today, not just for the Yankee sake, but
for baseball's sake.

Speaker 5 (20:50):
This is it.

Speaker 9 (20:50):
This can be a legacy game for him. So in
that way, I think it is going to be huge
for the Yankees to possibly extend this, take this back
to La and then at that point it be anyone's game.
But like you said, for the sake of baseball for
this series, hopefully it goes to a game seven, right
because oh.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
That's too much stress. That's too much stress. People in
light would be here. That's where I am, dang it
on in La DJ And by the way, what do
you think there's this nineteen ninety five.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
You're talking about one hundred and fifteen pitches. Come on now, DJ,
you know they don't do that anymore. Hey, we'll get
you out of here on this one.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
Something.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Rob and I have had a conversation about the last
day or so Juan Soto.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Is he playing with his team that he'll stay with.
Is he gonna go across town to the Mets? Is
he gonna go with the other team and take a
flight back to LA and get six hundred million? What
do you think? And he said money is in everything
whenever he makes his decision. What are your thoughts. That's
when he gave up four hundred and today, today and everything.

Speaker 9 (21:46):
Yeah, yeah, it's one thing right for him to say
it and versus what we'll actually see now these next
few months will paint that bigger picture.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
But I'm glad you asked because it's something that I.

Speaker 9 (21:55):
Noticed yesterday that looks like it actually hasn't been really
been talked about enough. He wants out to yesterday in
his book game press conference is standing around in a
white hat that just had the number twenty two on
it in sort of Dominican Republic colors.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
I think that was the first time this.

Speaker 9 (22:11):
Year I've seen him wear a hat that did not
have any Yankees affiliation on it, and it really reminded
me of when Garrett Cole, actually his last start with
the Astros in twenty nineteen, walked out and that Scott
Boris Corporation hat. So I think he's already sort of
putting the feelers out there. He's sort of subliminal messages
that probably he.

Speaker 5 (22:30):
Just has to do because Scott asked him to.

Speaker 9 (22:32):
But I think there is going to be a separation
between him and the Yankees regardless even if they win
this World Series. Right the Yankees are going to try
to make their best offer and he's still going to.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Explore the market and see what he can get paid.

Speaker 9 (22:45):
So there's kind of that top of the roller coaster
feeling right now I think for the Yankees, where sure
this can all drop.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
It's a good ride. It could end in a.

Speaker 9 (22:54):
Championship, it might not, But either way, at the end
of all of this, he's going to be exploring the market.
He's going to be touring other ballparks and visiting with
other front offices and owners.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
That's a hard pill to swallow for this team. I
think I need a yes.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
Or no answer as we run out of time.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
It would be easier, Yes, it'll be It'll be easy
to do.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Yes, this is what I do.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
It'll be easier for the Yankees to part with want
Soto if they come back and win the World Series.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
I don't think so.

Speaker 9 (23:22):
I don't think it would be easier. I ultimately my
gut feeling is that he stays, though I think in
the end it is going to maybe come down to
the winter meetings. It might be a few couple of
gruing months for this organization, but in the end, I
think the Yankees have to have to have to resign him,
not only for, of course what he did for this
team this year taking them to the World Series, but

(23:44):
so too also has best career numbers here.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
In a long time.

Speaker 9 (23:47):
So I think it will end up working out.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
It might be mayhem if it doesn't.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
Mean all right. They get used to that. He always
makes it yes to no, that this is what he
always started to help people like depend on it. He does. Sure, Hey,
we thank you so much. D Show.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
We appreciate it everyone out there. Hopefully it's a good game.
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
Yeah, of course you got it. Guys. Thanks for having
me on.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
All right, So we mentioned Freddie Freeman and what he's
been able to do. And here's the thing, and you
know this, could you talked about it? You said, this
morning is show. Hay has been a no show. Let's
just been no show. Otani is what we're calling him.
Through the first four games. Yes, his stat's been right, Oh,

(25:08):
identical to Aaron Judges and Aaron Judges getting killed because
the Yankees are down three to one because Freddy Freeman
has saved Otani because you know, if it was reverse
and the Yankees were up three to one and Shohey
was two for twelve and struggling at the plate, people.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Would be like, oh, here we go.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
He was great in the regular season, but now he's
wilting under the pressure of the postseason, because that's the
picture that people paint when you don't perform in the postseason.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
So as we know, and you can put it on
a T shirt. Everybody says it in sports. Winning cures
all and so we kind of go, oh, man, Otani,
we need you, and then we want to get and
you forgot that he didn't perform per se. What I
also think is hurt Aaron Judge is this is as
great as the ride has been for Otani and the Dodgers.

(25:59):
This is Otani's first postseason and the first postseason he
gets into and obviously is not singularly because of him.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
They go to the World Series.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Whereas I think Aaron Judge, prior to last night, he
was back in one fifty in the postseason one fifty,
so you've kind of seen this before. It was like,
rightfully so justifiably so the criticism of Mookie coming into
this postseason. All right, Mookie MVP type season again, here
you go, yeah, yeah, yeah, what are you gonna do
in the postseason?

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Well, and remember coming off of last year when he
got knocked out in the first round and him and
Freddy Freeman.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
Had one hit between the two of them.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Now, nobody can imagine that because everything that Freddy swings
on is going out of the park. But last year
when they lost to the Diamondbacks who wind up going
to the World Series, probably in the Dodgers spot.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
Yeah, to truth be told, it was ugly last year.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
And so I think that's what addeds to the Aaron
Judge criticism is that here we go again, fifty five,
fifty eight home run, sixty home run, doesn't matter. You're
not showing up and the guy right behind you is
hitting home runs like crazy and stanton. So I think
that's maybe why sho Hay is kind of getting less criticism.
This is his first go at it and his team

(27:11):
is winning, so we're kind of.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Forgetting some time. All right, we have like two questions here?
What are those questions?

Speaker 3 (27:17):
So, so, Dave Roberts giving up Game four, did you
feel like he gave up Game four or you were
cool with the way that he maneuvered that so that
he would be strong for Game five against Garrett Cole
And also has show hay or as I call him,
no show Otani got off?

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Has he been gotten off? Has he been let off
the hook?

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Because Freddie Freeman is hitting the ball out of the
park and everybody's excited about that. But he has the
same batting average as Aaron Judge he has.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
I call him Aaron.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
I'm judging you got nicknames, I'm judging you all right.

Speaker 3 (27:53):

the whole IRV Gotti murdering Fat Joe?

Speaker 4 (28:16):
What about Shanty? Jay Z showed up? J jay Z?

Speaker 1 (28:20):

now we're coming back to la if he if Alicia Keys,
if I'm the mayor America got his own troubles going

know there's.

Speaker 2 (28:32):

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Yankees minus one and a half, Game five, taking on
the Dodgers at the Yankee Stadium.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
Surprise Yankees. I know, right, You know I always picked
the Dodger. Oh yeah, we know.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
The last time, my first game coming baseball in eighty six,
I picked the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
I ain't picked them since, thanks Kawhi.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Yes, all right, Magic, I got the Magic tonight minus
five and a half.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
They're in Chicago taking on the Bulls, so let's.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Go there, and then the last game coming up a
little later on Wimby okay and the Spurs. Everyone knows
it's Whimy except for I'm not taking Wimby.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
How about that. I'm taking OKC minus.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Twelve and a half at home, you know that three
and Ozero taking on like that Wemby.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
All right, you have no faith in women.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
And remember, I'm not telling you who to bet on.
I'm telling you who I bet on. All right, thanks
eight seven seven ninety nine off Fox talking baseball game
five to Dave Roberts.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Blow it, you give up a game and show, hey,
has he been shielded by the greatest baseball player to
walk planet Earth ever in the history of mankind?

Speaker 3 (31:15):
All right, let's go with John in California. You're on
the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up John? Doing great?

Speaker 10 (31:25):
You know to think that he doesn't if Dave Roberts
lets him up, he's a fool. He's already proven he
can be a fool. There's no doubt about that. I'm
not gonna kid you. I'm a Giants fan, my second
favorite teams whoever playing the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
I get it, you know, But but your point is
letting a team up off the mat? Correct? Is that
your issue?

Speaker 10 (31:45):
You know?

Speaker 4 (31:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (31:46):
No, But every it's not like you're letting him off
the mat every game. Every game nineteen game is a
new fight, you know. It's not like you got him
bloodied up and he's sitting down there and he can't
get up right, because that ain't just let the Matt
I mean between Soto and Judge when Judge Judge gets going,
I mean, I mean the Dodgers, the Giants. Excuse me,

(32:07):
the Yankees have won four games straight twenty times over
the course of the year.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
Yeah, they've done it eight times this year. Eight times
they've won four games in a row. So thanks for
the call, John, I could tell that Giants down.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
He couldn't. He couldn't even keep it without saying the Giants.
He's like, you know, the Giant, I mean the Giants.
How about the Sean in Sacramento, Sean Sean.

Speaker 7 (32:28):
Yeah, my uncle from another mother because of Kelly and
my brother behind the boys. What a man, my man
Alex Ticer flexing while he the first year Robinson the
MLB bro dot Com, No doubt, thanks down, I see you,
big baby. But as far as Dave roberts Man, I
hate to say it, Kelvin because I know you living
and dying by your Dodgers, even though you're not a Homer.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
No, I just want to see a good, good series.

Speaker 7 (32:53):
Yeah, just like the last caller said, he's won and
disappointed in so many ways with some of the best
rosters at MLB over the last decade. It would just
be abropo for him to lose in seven, first time
they a team would ever lose up three to zero
in the playoffs. And I'll tell you what that show.
A injury may not seem like a big deal right now,

(33:15):
but Aaron Judges getting hot, Freddie Freeman, there's no way
he could stay this hot man. We're gonna have to
give him Reddy Jackson nickname if he stays this hot.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
If we had a home run to night, will you
finally concede? I will concede if he has a home
run to night off there, I'll be like, oh my god,
five games in a row, right, it'll be unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
But yo, yeah, appreciate you, Sean. But why isn't Dave
Roberts still just pulling all the right moves? Because that's
what he's been doing this postseason. I agree, he's had
some blunders. He's kept guys in too long historically, or
he's pulled them too early. He said, he's done some things.
This is the postseason where I feel like he's kind
of getting it right. And let's just see if he
got it right tonight.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
You know what I mean? Like, I don't want to
like crucify him. Yet I feel like he's been making
the right moves.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Kevin in Culver City, you're on the couple of Fox sportsuiting.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
What's up, cav God, he is good all the time.

Speaker 8 (34:01):
What's up fellers Hey? My thing with Dave was this,
when you go up to the zero, the whole script changes.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
Now. They did this against the Mets, and I know they.

Speaker 8 (34:10):
Were doing that for to preserve the relievers because they
don't have, you know, four starters, right, But when you
go up to the zero, to the zero, you'll put
in You'll put in Daniel Hudson. He look shaky in
the game before and then he left him out there.
I would have put in Jack Flaherty and try to
get through your four innings to try to get this
win and stay aggressive. And if you listen to the
great managers like Dusty Baker, he says he's trying to

(34:31):
win the first game. He's not thinking about the next game.
Boos Bochi legendary bringing in Madison bung Armer.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
In back to that to win the World Series, you
got to go for it when you got them on
their heels to win that game and win.

Speaker 8 (34:43):
That World series, go with all your best, all hands
on deck, I'm them over for a couple of.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
Innes yo Keev. I think he's done that before.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Remember he put kersher out there a couple of times
in some World series in the World Series run too,
so he actually has done that. I think to your point,
the three to ozer lead is the thing. If he
were up two to one, maybe he does this, let's
try to get this three one. Being up three, oh,
I think his mindset is dark. They gotta beat us
fou not one, not two, not three, four times in

(35:11):
a row in order to win the state. So I
think that was the issue.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
If they were two to one, maybe two two, maybe
he'd be in that mindset of trying to you know,
we gotta do anything to win his game. Man, I
gotta win fox straight.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
And I just think he was, but you could only
It's only one game at a time, and that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
And I get it because it hasn't been done. But
it's just gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Let's talk in two thousand and four, when the Yankees
were up three, Yulls crazy and the Alcs and the
Red Sox won four straight. It's funny because Dave Roberts
was on that team and one game four slide, with
that slide at second base. All right, our number two
is coming up, and some Yankee fans I think they
got off light with interfering with Mookie Betts out in

(35:52):
right fielding foul.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Territory, talking crazy too.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
We'll talk about that and much more uh coming up
next on the couple Hour number two, And man I
can't wait.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
