do it.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Michaeh. Parsons, who you know has a podcast that your favorite.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
You don't miss the episode.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
No, no, I never missed the Mike Partcive podcast. I
never listened to it, so I never miss it. But
I do hear like stuff and clips and what people
are saying or whatever. And I told you I wanted
to change the name of his podcast to turn off
his mic cup. I mean, that's what I really want
to make it. That's what it should be.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
But I'll tell you what you might be right now.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
Here's the thing that's so funny. And this is why
I'm always pushing back on the former athletes, says all right,
he wanted to go ahead. And I'm not saying you can't.
To me, the one the guys who are doing all
the stuff while they're playing, I just think it's a
small window focusing on your career.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
There'll be a time and a place for all that,
you know.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I just find that to be weird to me that
you're not all in on your playing career, you know,
like for real, and you have distractions and all the
other stuff. But anyway, Michael Parsons was the biggest Dak
Prescott fan. Remember last year, what did he finish second
second place for the MVP voting because Lamar Jackson didn't
(02:34):
get all the first place votes, so that was only
there was one first place vote that he didn't get.
But anyway, he was singing the praises of Dak who
had this fantastic year, of course until the playoffs showed up.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
But anyway, now he's has a different tune, Rob G.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Can you explain how Michael Parsons has quickly taken a
left turn on his guy who was saying was one
of the greatest quarterbacks and put some respect with a
K on his name.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
Rob Almost a year ago to the day, unbelievable, Michael
Parsons wanted his podcast in the wake of an impressive
Dak Prescott performance to be honest, he had a great game,
and he said something along the lines of, I don't
condone the bashing of Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, and
they don't have the same energy for the Eagles. So
when we play bad, you come at us. When the
(03:28):
Eagles play bad, no one says anything. And then he
finishes his podcast again last year, I'm tired of people
trashing my quarterback.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
All right, flash forward.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
One year, almost like the three hundred.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
And sixty Four days later, Michaeh.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Parsons is on his podcast with Trayvon Diggs and they're
talking about quarterback play in the NFL, and what was
intended to be a complimentary segment of Jade and Dangels
having a great season winded up being a backhanded compliment
at his own quarterback.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Take a listen, where would.
Speaker 7 (04:03):
You rank him among quarterbacks right now? I would say
he's definitely top ten higher. You think he's top five
for sure? Who else you gonna put in your top
five right now?
Speaker 2 (04:12):
I'm gonna go him. I'm gonna go Ma homes.
Speaker 6 (04:15):
Mar got that mark?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yeah, Josh is Jalen playing pretty good right now too.
Jared Golf is the top five quarterback right now.
Speaker 7 (04:24):
And Matthew Stafford bro I love how Matthew Stafford played
the quarterbacks every like Sam Donald playing and it could
be in the top five conversation right now.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yeah, Sam Donald looking a lot.
Speaker 7 (04:35):
Of my quarterbacks right I can't give you a top
five right now based on how everybody's performed.
Speaker 6 (04:43):
Who wasn't listed in that list?
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Wait a minute, won't we missing somebody? What we were
missing Dak Prescott the cod no.
Speaker 8 (04:50):
Ain't no way, no no no, we heard it. We
just ain't no way. They didn't say that, right. Maybe
I'm missing, maybe I get old. Maybe my airphone this
on because I know heard Dak in there somewhere.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Zak was not mentioned, nowhere to be found. And the
other one too is Patrick Mahomes is having an awful year.
I'm talking about numbers wides. I know they've won seven games,
but my goodness, really and no Dak nowhere to be found.
Speaker 8 (05:15):
Well, I think that's what's what's even more insulting about
it is that if you're going just strictly off the numbers,
you want to have some Patrick Mahomes couldn't be in
there just based off the numbers, all right, Well, then
that means you're going based off what you really feel about.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
The right, which means you.
Speaker 8 (05:33):
Ain't mentioned that because the same thing could apply. You
could be like, I know, Dak numbers aren't the great, right,
but he's on his way up, he's coming back, don't
worry about it. Were about to get a run going.
You had a chance to big up your own guy.
Now this is to me, very very very telling. Michael
Parsons is bright enough to know most of the time,
(05:55):
which you.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Know, those types of podcasts.
Speaker 8 (05:57):
We don't want to hear some wow that was really
warm and huddly feeling things. People want the salation stuff, right,
if he talks smack about another player, or if he
said something a boy the player or coaching his own team,
or or back when I was in college we used
to get free money.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Whatever, that's what folks want. That's what's gonna go viral.
Speaker 8 (06:13):
And you knew good and well when you opened your
mouth and did not mention Dak Prescott, even if you
left open a caveat to say, hey, this is my man,
so I'm gonna keep him out the ranking, you know,
just because that's just my man.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
I'm gonna keep hm out just to.
Speaker 8 (06:24):
Be fair, like, okay, cool, you can't list that and
not that's very deliberate. At some point, Dak Prescott crosses
your mind and you mentioned his name just off of
GP general principle.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
That's my guy, I'm naming him. He says. You know,
we're gonna hear that. You didn't. You know, we're gonna
make a thing of it.
Speaker 8 (06:42):
And you know, Dak felt some type of way now
if maybe if this is telling him that is there
something going on? Is there some smoke? Do they not
get down with each other? Are they not rocking with
each other? So he's like, hey, it is what it is.
I said what I said, But this is very loud,
very telling, and this is why why I was telling
Rob Ge earlier. I don't mind players having podcasts, but
(07:02):
it would be cool sometimes if they had a podcast
that it wasn't even about the sport they played. Like
what if Michael Parsons had a WWE because he's just
a massive fan, he had some niche audience and he
just talked about WWE stuff, or he talks about, you know,
playing Call of Duty like it doesn't have to be
You're giving me all this football insight during the season,
and in particular talking about your own team and leaving
(07:22):
out the most important position, the quarterback. So that was
very loud to me, very very again, deliberate and again,
if you're Dak Prescott, you already got you and c
and he keep bumping heads and they keep saying they're good,
but they keep doing it.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
You're hearing all this other stuff rumbling.
Speaker 8 (07:38):
Mike McCarthy, it's just it's getting loud, and I wouldn't
like that if I was deck, Like, man, we're trying
to hold this thing down to write the ship, and
here you are starting little stupid things that we just
don't need.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Yeah, well, this is why I'm against it. It just
there's nothing that good that comes out of it. Seriously,
what is the good that comes out of it? Either
you're going to upset a teammate or infuriate an opponent
for what reason? What reason do you serve? Is being
(08:09):
a pro athlete making millions of.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Dollars not a dollar? Is it that roaring of a life?
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Honestly, I had a conversation.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Can't be about the money of it, because because they're
not making the money that they're making playing, I just
don't even understand with all that you could be doing
that that is where you want to go. If you
want to go and hang out with your buddies and
talk ball and go to the bar, you know what
I mean, and then being your bend, your man's room
or whatever you could do that you don't have to
put a mic on.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
I think.
Speaker 9 (08:39):
So.
Speaker 8 (08:39):
I had a conversation with a friend of mine a
little bit older. It's more like a mentor, and he
kept asking me about it. Was the point was like
why is Angel Reese doing this, doing this, doing this podcat, Like,
why isn't she just kind of like hooping? I'm like
this era they feel it's a big case of fomo
fear of missing out? Why am I not at a
(09:01):
New York Fashion Week? Why am I not at the
Met Gala? Why am I not having a podcast? Why
am I not a guest appearance on someone else's podcast?
Like there's a weird fear of missing out. I think
athletes are having now where if their hands aren't in
a million pots, it's almost like, well, what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (09:17):
And I get it. They want to strike while the
iron's hot.
Speaker 8 (09:19):
They want to have a book deal, they want to
have this, They want to have their own show here.
They want to be what's your boy Travis Kelce in
a movie? Now he's got a movie coming out, Like
they want to be in have a hands in a
bunch of pots.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
But it's almost like you don't have to, like he'll.
Speaker 8 (09:33):
Be fine, and I promise you'll live, and I'll promise
you'll be fine, and I promise folks will still think
highly of you.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
So again, I don't. I'm totally disappointed in that. Dude.
Speaker 8 (09:42):
Fine, you already got the podcast now, like you know,
he's already in it. He's already been doing it for
some time. But you know what this does, man? And
now what are they doing Dallas?
Speaker 9 (09:50):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
How you doing?
Speaker 1 (09:51):
DK?
Speaker 2 (09:51):
I know you guys got the big game coming up?
Speaker 8 (09:52):
But Michael Parsons was listing out his quarterbacks and he
didn't list you in his top ten. Now Doak has
a well you know, I don't really I didn't really
get a chance here, but I'm just I'm sure you know,
blah blah blah.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Yeah, yo's actually questioning that that the reporters in Dallas
will act.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Absolutely they will.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
They want to get a reaction. What you might get
a great quote? Hey, did you hear him?
Speaker 2 (10:12):
I finally snapped that presidential Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
But at some point, man, you're like, what he listen?
They listen, Michael listened to his top ten quarterbacks. You
weren't on that list. So you're surprised. You want what
do you mean?
Speaker 9 (10:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Man?
Speaker 8 (10:27):
And you know what and Rob g Mary, Mary Alex
when he's here, you know, somebody.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
Whoever is running his pod, that's right.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
You ain't lying about that.
Speaker 8 (10:38):
Maybe maybe that maybe that double cheesecake set them back.
Somebody's got to be looking out for meaning he's got
to have a Mary and now robb G somebody, hey, yo, man,
you know, because they know it's not like they do
these podcasts live like dude, like, yo, I don't know
if you caught that, but you didn't mention your boy.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
What would it be like if somebody you want a
podcast and you did the top five radio talk show
hosts on the national level and you didn't include me.
Speaker 8 (11:06):
And again if the best, and again maybe because we're
older and more more mature and we're a little more savvy.
The best way to excuse that is to start by saying, you.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Know, that's my man, so I'm gonna keep him out
of it, just to be fair. That way, you didn't
say he was or you just go, man, you're doing
top ten.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Why do you have to keep him out If you
really believe he's like.
Speaker 8 (11:22):
One of the best, I'm not going to give him
an exit. Like even if yeah, it's just to not
mention him, even if he's fine to your point, Let's
say he was like, I'm I'm just such a real
I'll be keeping it real.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
You know, I'm just saying, you know, I got him
at ten, but that's my man.
Speaker 8 (11:37):
He gonna work his well to not mention him at all,
his absolute crazy work.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
And uh and.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Before he you know mentioned that, yeah last year said
evens got to put him first.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
And it's like at that time, Kirk Cousin would do anything. Uh.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Tyreek Hill goes out of his way to say two ways,
the best quarterback.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
And right right, and that's with Mahomes because that's his
quarterback right now.
Speaker 6 (12:03):
He's also sending out the instant but Flirton, but.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
He has done it, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
And he could have easily said, hey, I want to
I want him super Bowl with Patrick Mahomes. I'm always
gott to keep him at the He could say that,
but he's smart enough to understand I'm playing with Tua.
And remember you're like, hey, nobody throws a more accurate
ball than too.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
I remember that was saying to be fair.
Speaker 8 (12:28):
I mean, I get like it ain't like two have
been bad when he's had tyreg he said his personal
records with to h. But I'll say this last point
for me with this, I just think. Am I not
forced to only think that there's something to this?
Speaker 2 (12:43):
You know what I mean? Am I not forced to
think he deliberately did this? Like I don't want to,
but I'm led to believe that there's no way.
Speaker 8 (12:52):
You were listening off quarterbacks and I gave you ten,
like let's say it was three. He just wanted to
keep it real and he was just like a Patrick
mahomes Lamar and Josh Okay.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Fine, I get that he is. We all know Dak's
not better than those three? Do we gave you ten?
You ain't gonna name the ten.
Speaker 8 (13:08):
So unless that was deliberate, like I said, there's something
to it, or if it wasn't deliberate and he and
like accidentally left him off meeting, he know Dak ain't
a top ten player, Like that's just he was just
his honest answer. Then man, that's that's very damning. Either way,
Your man's has to make the list. I repeat, your
man's has to make the list.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
All right?
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Did Micah this Dak?
It's pretty simple? Did Micah di Dak? And does he
need to get rid of his podcast Enough already eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox It is The Odd Couple

about Micah Man.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I just see, I just think it's very I think
it's very damning that you.
Speaker 8 (15:01):
Don't mention Dak Dak already every he just being by
the nature of being the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys,
it comes with extra scrutiny and again sometimes very warranted
if you're not playing well and he's not having a
great season right now, especially coming off a few twelve
and five and having some success, uh you know last
year being in the MVP candidate. But I'm just like
(15:22):
michaeh Man. You don't need to be causing any extra drama.
You don't need to be causing any extra smoke in
that locker room, any extra fuel for these media folk.
And to me, he just sit laid it on them
right on the platter, kind of like some bake zd
My bad, too soon, My.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Bad, Rob soon.
Speaker 8 (15:35):
You know, I'm especially Donalds and forty six cents. That's
on your boy, see, not my boy. Bet he's eating Doritos.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Now, Hey, I got no choice. I'm starving anyway. We
gotta call us talk to Caleb in Houston. You're on
the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Caleb, Yeah, I.
Speaker 10 (15:54):
Mean just to talk about the the Michael Parsons saying
Micah Heeces shut down this podcast. I think we all
know that the biggest thing is with DK is did
he lie?
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Right?
Speaker 10 (16:08):
I mean, if we if we want players to be
open and be honest on their podcast, we want to
get their true authentic sales. Dek is in top five.
So can we blame Mica for saying what he said,
Yes we can.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Nobody is asking you to.
Speaker 8 (16:23):
Uh, you ain't gotta lie, but you gotta defend your boy.
So what I mean is you just gotta throw him
in there for the sake of that's your man, that's
your teammate, that's your guy, or at least.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Say not counting my not counting Dak. That's an obvious
take him out, take them out, you know what I mean.
I play with Dak. Of course he's one of the
top quarterbacks in the league. But I'm talking about the opponents.
Then you have a free pass. But just to do
a list and not put your guy in there, it's
just it's not good business and.
Speaker 8 (16:55):
It's too obvious. Like it's just you know what this
is gonna do. Sometimes if something can Rob, you know,
we've been thanks for the call. By the way, Rob,
We've been doing this for a long time. So sometimes
you say things you didn't know it was gonna be
a thing, you know what I mean, Like, oh, shoot,
I didn't know they were gonna take that way, or
misconstrue this, or misunderstand what I was saying, or maybe
I didn't explain it right. This isn't obvious, like you
know what I mean. This isn't sitting right there. They
(17:17):
didn't have to really stretch. It wasn't like you know,
they they're making up something or trying to mix up
the words.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Dog.
Speaker 8 (17:23):
You didn't name Dak Prescott in ten quarterbacks, and it
ain't but thirty two of them, you know what I mean.
It ain't like it's one hundred and eighty. Okay, he's
not top ten. I get that you're saying he's not
the better one third. Okay, Well, right now we got
to ask you finished.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Second in MVP, and if you're doing that, and and
you made the point, which I think is fair, the
idea that you put my homes in was having one
of his worst years, right, statistically, but you're giving him
the benefit of the doubt because of his past correct.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
So then that wasn't that all into that?
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Right?
Speaker 8 (17:58):
Yeah, just just interesting before we get to trending, Man going,
I wanna go back to the Dodgers and their parade.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
One thing the Dodgers, you and I talked about it. Now.
Speaker 8 (18:08):
You know, in sports you get the curse of the Bambino,
the curse of the Billy Goad and all that kind
of stuff. It might now be the curse of Fat
Joe when it comes to the Yankees. Man, uh, we
got Joe Kelly of the Dodgers talking smack about him.
You got Key k Hernandez talking smack. Just wrote some
of the sound from this parady talking smack in the
last couple of days at fat Joe for me, Robb
(18:28):
Gi we going to New York in this time.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
He used to be faed. He's not fat anymore. This
name is Joe. Guess why we didn't even need.
Speaker 8 (18:43):
To play because after that performance we had already won.
We didn't even have to play because after that performance,
rob we knew we want and don't act like you weren't.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Saying the same thing in real time.
Speaker 8 (18:57):
You're like, yo, You're like, man, how was at the
and ice Cube? That had to places Rocky And You're like, man,
that Fat Joe ain't it?
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Well, the only thing is I didn't get to hear
it because we were on the air, whereas I was
at the ballpark for ice Cube. You know, I text you,
you know I did because I was that impressed that
a ice Q did a great job and b that
Major League Baseball incorporated that in the World Series. I
was thrilled to see that. I thought I had a
lot of friends were like, man, that was awesome, and so.
Speaker 8 (19:26):
Now you got Joe Kelly came out the other day
and was asked and he said, yeah, man, it's the
Curse of Fat Joe. He was like, once I saw
Fat Joe performing, I knew we were gonna win. And
you know, Joe Kelly got some swag to him, so
he was like, yeah, once I saw Fat Joe Joe,
I know it was a rap, you know, Fat Joe
up there, And I'm laughing because Fat Joe's like, man,
I'll just come out trying to rep my team, rep
my town and like I'm just getting wax right now
(19:47):
to getting all the smoke is coming at Fat Joe's way.
Now it's gonna be the Curse of Fat Joe. Why
Aaron Judge dropped that pass or the catch and all
the other stuff that happened in that fifth inning.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
It really needed to be though.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Jay Z and Alicia Keys, I mean like to be compared,
like as far as what the Dodgers did with Ice Cue,
you know what I mean. I'm not dissing Fat Joe
at all in his career and what he you know
what I mean, but that song, which was incredible, Uh
you know cube, No, no, no, the Alicia Key New
(20:23):
York Empire.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
They can't afford jay Z.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
But let me say this though, in two thousand and
nine when they won the World Series, they replaced the
Sinatra New York, New York, you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
So exactly with jay Z song. You know what the
Yankees right now. So no, you're not going to get
jay Z.
Speaker 8 (20:42):
But you know what for him before he gets agree
ro G, I think they go to a Game seven,
Well it would have been in LA, but let's just
say it would have been a Game seven in New York.
I think Jay would have came out with his old
school J two with a Yankee cap on.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
You now listen to it to the greatest.
Speaker 8 (20:58):
He also said that he made the Yankee fitting more
than the Yankee did, and I was trying to argue
with him, and I was like at that time he might.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Be you know what, and I'll say this, it's a
fashion statement. You see players you notice Rob G from
other teams, like they played one the Houston Rockets and
they way of a white shirt and a and a
New York Yankee fitting.
Speaker 8 (21:21):
Listen like it ain't nothing serious like Yanke to wear
them like crazy. That might one of these days, Rob
G mark it down. Want I gotta go. We're gonna
do it like a logo edition like La New York,
the old English d for you know, Detroit, and then
what will be in one more continent. We're gonna do
that one. That's a great one. One's gotta go the
baseball Saint Louis.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
I'm trying to think of a.
Speaker 8 (21:44):
The Reds to see if that's kind of a you know,
a Boston Boston Red size kind of but the l A,
LA New York, Detroit are kind of like the three.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
I think there's another one that we're missing, but I'll
say we miss. You know the difference between.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
Them, the break.
Speaker 6 (22:02):
And the brave brave one.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Do you know what the difference is in the Mets
and Yankees? And why?
Speaker 2 (22:07):
What's that?
Speaker 4 (22:08):
Yet?
Speaker 1 (22:09):
The why is higher than the end in the New
York So instead of you know en and then why
would be below it? The why for Yankees is above
the end and the Mets is the other way around.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
We just showed your age explaining that. By the way,
why like you?
Speaker 2 (22:27):
That one's real historian like if you look at it.
We were at the Smithsonian right now.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
It's like Steve giving. Steve Saga knows what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Company live for the Tireck dot Com studios.
Speaker 8 (22:50):
We're joined now by former NFL quarterback Fox Sports Radio
NFL analysts are Man.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
We are down with the King, Sean King. What's up, brother, what's.
Speaker 9 (22:59):
Up all y'all doing on this glorious, glorious Friday.
Speaker 4 (23:02):
We're very good, good man?
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Hey, go ahead, Rob.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Yeah, I was just gonna say, we're just talking about
Michael Parson in this podcast, and he went on to
name the top ten quarterbacks in the league. Didn't mention
Dak if that were you when you were a quarterback
and you were the number two in the voting for
MVP a year ago, and your own teammate doesn't even
have you in the top ten. He might have named
Daniel Jones ahead of him. I'm just saying, would you
(23:27):
be happy with that or would it not bother you
at all?
Speaker 9 (23:31):
I mean, I wouldn't be happy with it, But I
also was a very self introspective kind of person. And
if we're being honest, he's in the top team quarterback
right now. Twenty twenty four didn't play well.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
I get I get that, I.
Speaker 9 (23:46):
Get that might that might hurt something, that might hurt
some people's feelings. True, don't have emotions. If he wants
to be named by his teammates in the top ten,
play better.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Yeah, But MIAI point, My only point is that's why
is it really necessary for Michael Parsons to have a podcast?
What comes out of it other than upsetting a team
made or infuriating opponents, Like what is the point of it.
Speaker 9 (24:13):
The point is these guys think they're more than just athletes.
They think they're a brand, they think they're a celebrity.
So how do you stay relevant and have a voice.
We found that non traditional easy play play.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
How about playing Hey.
Speaker 9 (24:29):
I'm old school, I'm forty seven.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
Saying I'm not.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
I'm asking Michael Parsons that defense is giving up fifty
points a game at home in the last four games,
and the podcast is what's important.
Speaker 9 (24:41):
Ron, I'm not arguing with you. I'm simply identifying what
I think one of the real issues with athletes these days,
Like the car is before the horse. So many of
these guys, like I didn't even want to do my
weekly radio show when I played bad, Like I was
humble as can be. Like, it's just these guys, like
they they only yelled their successes and then they had
(25:05):
their failures. And if I'm like a process man, Look,
I'm not even pausing my podcast. A couple of weeks,
I get healthy and I can participate my team's losing.
I'm not a part of the losing because I'm not available.
But when I was available, we weren't very good. But
these guys are whired different man.
Speaker 8 (25:23):
Yeah, one of the things I said, Sean was and
we can kind of get off of that, but I
just said, it's a lot of fomo right now. Athletes
feel like if I'm not at the met galer, the
fashion show, if I'm not doing this big thing here,
if i don't have a podcast, if I'm not popping
on social media, then you know, I'm missing out. And
I see a lot of that with the urgency, like
why does Angelies has a podcast? You know, it's like
it's not even you ain't even got your foot yet
(25:44):
in the league, you know, first year, but she already
has a podcast and it's already got some controversy with
shock and whatnot. So anyway, but I was shocked by
your answer though, because I thought that now I got
to go back to the locker room and see Dak
And here the reporters who the first thing they're gonna
ask Doak is Michael Parsons just hey, his podcast and
he didn't let miss in his top ten quarterbacks? How
(26:04):
do you feel about that? And that was added annoyance
and drama and things they don't need when we're trying
to win games.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
I'm shocked you didn't think say.
Speaker 9 (26:10):
That, because part of becoming a consistently elite player is
having someone coach you. Sometimes it has a couple of teammates.
Like these organizations are so into coddling the quarterback. We
don't want to mess up his confidence that they aren't
coaching these guys. They're holding them accountable for their performances
(26:32):
and you can't improve if that's the environment you live in.
Maybe this is a spark that motivates that to actually
play better. That has been awful this year.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
We don't doubt that. I mean, that's not even an issue.
I agree with that.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
How about CJ Stroud, what's happened with him? I know
there's offensive line issues and Stefon Diggs that missing, he's
missing some of his receivers. I get all that, but
even prior to that, it just hasn't been the same
year as it was a year ago.
Speaker 9 (26:59):
Well, he's not and some of its receivers. Let's not
diminish who Nico Collins has become its league.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Yeah, but there were six and two coming into night.
Speaker 9 (27:08):
But but it's not gonna look the same when Nico
Collins isn't there. Now you take away Stefan Diggs, like
Kank Dill is an elite third wide receiver, but when
he's your number one, you're not playing with the same
deck of cards. It's why I always go at you
when you try to diminish what Patrick Mahomes is doing. Well,
you can go out and find ways to win games
when you guys aren't at full strength and you don't.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Got your Him throwing eight interceptions has nothing to do
with who's not there.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
He's stole to the other time.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Here we go.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
No, it doesn't stop it it does.
Speaker 10 (27:39):
It does.
Speaker 9 (27:39):
Those guys are eleait wide receivers that get open, create separation,
take short passes, turn them in the loan passes.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I've also seen them throw. I've also seen them throw
a ball right at somebody. I mean, come on, you
can't always blame You can't always blame that. It's always
the reason that you're doing this or doing that is
because of the other talent. Sometimes you're just BADJ Strouds
not bad.
Speaker 4 (28:05):
I'm just say it. I'm gonna say, he don't look
like he wants. He don't look like you've did last year.
That's all I'm doing.
Speaker 9 (28:09):
Get carried away and go crazy. Your teammates matter. Shohey,
Towney's the best player in baseball, right. He did nothing
in the World Series. His teammates picked him up. So CJ.
Stroud is having to adapt without his two best offensive
players this year outside of Joe Mixon. He's figuring that out.
As they go, they'll find a way to still win games.
They'll get better as they keep going. The thing I
(28:32):
like about c J. Stroud, The thing I like about
c J. Shad is look at the toughness that he showed,
like getting up after getting hit every time, still standing
in there, trying to make the throws like he's only
a second year player. I love that kid. He don't blink,
he stands there, he tries to make the plays. They'll
get healthy eventually. There's nothing wrong with c J. Stroud.
Stop making stuff up.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Wrong, I'm not making stuff up. He doesn't look the
same to me from a year ago. And that that
was from the very beginning, not when everybody got hurt.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 9 (29:02):
The first couple of games of the year here Nico
Collins were a score served, they were they were bombing.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yeah, Nko was going crazy those first couple of games.
Speaker 9 (29:09):
Yeah, going down is a big loss. And then Diggs
goes down.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
I thought, I thought.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
What I'm told all the time is great players adapt
and they're able to make other people better around them.
That's what I've always been, That's what I've always heard
about people.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
So so that's it.
Speaker 9 (29:26):
You can't have your cake.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
I'm asking you.
Speaker 9 (29:28):
You can't come on national radio and criticize Cutching Mahomes.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Why not if he's not playing well.
Speaker 9 (29:34):
Undefeated, all of his number guess.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
All of his numbers are all time worse for him,
that's all. Why can't we acknowledge that he's not playing
that well. He's even acknowledged it, But you can't acknowledge it.
It doesn't make sense, Sean. I'm not saying I'm not
trying to strip down his his legacy or say he's
a bomb, or are we going to take away his
MVPs or whatnot, but we can. Why can't we look
(29:57):
at a guy and say he's playing poorly because.
Speaker 9 (30:01):
He's finding a way to help his team win, which
is what CJ. Shaald is doing. It doesn't look elite
like it's looked in the past because they aren't at
full throttle. They don't have all of their guys. You
gotta get some credit to the teams they're playing too.
Those guys get paid every week. So when you show
up and you don't got all your bullets, you're just
trying to find a way to win. It might not
look beautiful. If you can find a way to win it, Hey, man,
(30:23):
you're doing a hell of a job.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Hey, let me say this to one more thing. I
gotta get this in the catch by Wilson.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Last night's slenderous.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
Okay, but I don't think it's an all time great catch.
And I'm gonna tell you what I mean, rob Gie,
And we're still doing this later or no about the catch?
Are we talking about the catch?
Speaker 9 (30:41):
No?
Speaker 6 (30:41):
Uh uh?
Speaker 1 (30:42):
And here's my issue with it, because it's the same
thing when I first saw the OBJ catch, and I
swear to you, I'm watching the game and with Sunday
Night Football, me and Chris collins Worth at the same
exact time, said that's the greatest catch I ever saw. Okay,
And then I found out about these sticky gloves and
what these guys which has changed some of these incredible
(31:06):
catches through the gloves not get some of the credit
for these catches. Is all I'm saying. Oh the gloves, Sean,
I'm asking you, with the sticky gloves, can you make
that catch? And the reason I say it is Sports
Illustrated took some kids, high school kids, through the ball
to them with no gloves, they couldn't catch anything through
(31:27):
the ball, to them with gloves, and animost caught everything.
And I'm asking you, as somebody who's been around that
or seeing those gloves, what is the difference?
Speaker 4 (31:35):
Does that make?
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Well?
Speaker 9 (31:37):
It makes a difference. But at the same time, for contexts,
that may be the greatest catch in Jet's history. That
kept Woody Johnson from changing the key fall for everybody
in the building like they were about to lose that game.
So the significance of winning made the catch, and how
important it was in the outcome last night, I can
give it whatever credit somebody designs it to have. Do
(31:58):
they have an advantage with the gloves?
Speaker 4 (32:00):
Okay, that's all I want to know.
Speaker 9 (32:02):
He's got an advengage. But we grew up, we didn't
know about nutrition. Wasn't no such thing as yoga, wasn't
the recovery tanks.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
I know, but they used to be stick them with
with When I was a kid watching football. They used
to have stick them, and they had gobs of it
on the sidelines and people would stick their hands in
and run out so that they wouldn't fumble the ball
and they would catch the ball. They outlawed that because
it was ridiculous with the stick them, and now they
have the sticky gloves.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 9 (32:28):
I guess they helped some of them and hurt the others.
I saw Devontae Adams drop a couple of balls. He
never drops. He's got the same kind of gloves on it.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
That's what I was saying.
Speaker 9 (32:38):
I'm gonna give him Garrett Wilson the credit he deserves
for that.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Catch, all right, all right, and they want to use
some of them.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Give give us your best bet for this well Sunday
in football NFL.
Speaker 9 (32:49):
All right, I'm going over to Canada. I'm going to
the state of Washington. I'm taking the Huskies at home.
That weather's changing. The Troldren's feeling kind of good about themself.
I think watching it as a way to win at
home in the NFL. Listen, I think Lamar is a
little banged up. I don't know if them can win
at Baltimore, but I do think they can keep it
inside of the nine and a half. So Broncos plus
(33:10):
the points on the road at Baltimore and the Washington
Huskies to win outright at home versus the Trojans of Troy.
Speaker 8 (33:17):
All right, he is Sean king Man. We appreciate Sean.
You know, hey, I'm when this is over, I'm gonna
call to Rob g I'm gonna get your numbers so
I can call you because all you just you don't
worry about it.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
I'm sorry, Sean, I'm gonna call.
Speaker 9 (33:33):
I know you.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
I know you got your think that tomorrow so we
can actually talk.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
I'm sorry, I didn't mean it.
Speaker 9 (33:39):
I guys appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
I mean, let me know, Rob, let me know. I
can I tell what we're doing next.
Speaker 8 (33:45):
Just that mean, okay, yeah, did you want did you
want to talk about Joel Embid that I don't know.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Because I just let me text me.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
I'm off. Let me know, I'm off for that topic.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
That okay, you could do? All right?
Speaker 8 (33:54):
So Rob Parker is gonna tell you, and Rob Alone
is gonna tell you about Joe Ellenbiid and what's going
on there in Philly.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
I'm gonna go grab no mag.
Speaker 8 (34:03):
ZD mag ZD and just enjoy it. Don't put it
out of refrigerator. No, no, I'm all right, I'm am
alright at the crib. So yeah, So Rob Parker gonna

(34:59):
Parker Parker, Rob, I'm.
Speaker 4 (35:03):
Sorry, that's all I'm gonna say. I'm sorry, that's what.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Yeah, you know, I apologize you did get worked out,
worked up, But I do want to ask you, like
about to catch. Seriously, do you understand my point. I'm
not I'm not trying to take away or say it
wasn't a fantastic or or whatever. But the gloves have
have made us see some of the greatest catches over
(35:26):
the last few years since these gloves. And it was
that report from Sports Illustrated that really opened my eyes
to it because I didn't know they were wearing these gloves.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
And when they showed.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
It, go watch, go watch the video of the high
school kids with no gloves being thrown a football and.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
With gloves, it's night and day.
Speaker 8 (35:47):
The only is for that's a fact. Put an exclamation
for me. That's that's not even debatable. The only thing
I was saying is that, well, everybody wears them, Yet
you got a bunch of guys who dropped passes, or
are inconsistent, or who can't make even when we would
deem as normal catches. Obviously, if you looked at the
Kansas City Chiefs receiving core last year, we're just insane.
(36:08):
Incredibly bad. How many they missed. So my point is
just simply that everybody ain't doing it, yet everybody has
access to the same exact equipment. You get what I'm saying, So, like,
you're right, this equipment is you know, Jerry Rice Rollrond
his grave.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
I know you're lie.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
You imagine you know what if I I cut war
those gloves walk.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
Like he like, are you kidding me? You know?
Speaker 8 (36:29):
What's my of Steve Largin back in the day, Like
some of these.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Guys are like, you got to be kidding me. What
I would have been doing?
Speaker 8 (36:34):
Lynn Swan would have been like, man, I'd have had,
you know, forty more catches and six more touchdowns. So
I'm just technology is always advanced, and they always got
some new shoes. Like they were running around in Converse.
Those are the worst shoes to play basketball. And now
you have these guys in the best absolute shoes with
air and this and tighter laces.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
So that's one thing.
Speaker 8 (36:56):
That's why I love context When we have conversations about
who who was the best, what's the best? All those
kinds of things contextualize eras and everything and the advantages
of each era because there's all who knows what's going
to be next, You know what I mean, what is
going to be next is a conversation about Joel Embiid,
what's happening there in Philly. Rob's got some stuff to
say about that, and we'll be back Fox Sports Radio,
