Speaker 1 (02:06):
Whole lot of great action, as you mentioned, a lot
of great stuff to get you, uh sports wise over
the weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
How was your weekend? Speaking of it, did you sit
you a little butt home? I did?

Speaker 5 (02:13):
I relaxed. It was actually a relaxing weekend. And I
didn't even feel compelled to watch a movie and do paperwork.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I actually was. So did the students just automatically all
in a right now or something?

Speaker 6 (02:25):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:26):
No, no, but I mean paperwork like stuff that I'm doing.
I used to sit and watch a movie at my
desk and feel like compelled to just do something right
instead of just watching the movie.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, I know how that is.

Speaker 7 (02:38):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
You're just like because you feel like it's a waste
of time.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Sometimes you just like I'm just gonna waste two hours
doing nothing.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
You got, you got tony itis. My wife she got
tony iis. You can't just not do something.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
Because to me, like, if you're watching something that's hours,
I can iron cloth while I'm watching you got you
know what I mean? I could wipe the counters down,
I could I could wash something.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Brother.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
See, that's the thing. You gotta master doing nothing. That's
your problem, or maybe a good thing. My wife she is,
if she has downtime, to your point, she's gonna start. Okay, cool,
I'm gonna plan the birthday party for my daughters. Oh
I'm gonna do that. Hey, due, remember, don't forget we
got to do like hey, hey, hey, if you don't,
let Will Smith cook. Right now, we're watching it. Let
Robert de Narrow rob the Narrow it trying to watch
this movie. Girl, you over here planning our life six

(03:22):
months in advance. Sit you a little butt down. I
hope she ain't listening. But uh yeah, a wee cand
for me, normal just kids stuff for the most part
of birthday parties. But man, we got yeah, we got
some good football stuff that happened that we got a
good Monday night or too, should be fun to see.
Uh to the Buccaneers and the Chiefs get at it there.
Huh yeah, we kind of had that. Uh that over
a couple of games over the weekend, some some rain,

(03:42):
all different games and uh even little light flurry didn't
look like in Green Bays are a little flurry.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
If I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
I've spent many many times in that place. All right,
let's welcome in the odd couple. Cool because you wouldn't
be able to do the Find radio program without them.
Rob g of course, is our producer, Alex.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
That's right, Rob here looking like Rob Boy.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
If you ain't had that tak top on, I think
he was going to Vegas. He's trying to get his
last little bit out of here. Exercide the Dean. Yeah,
that's the problem using emphasizing that too much. That's why
Steve the Seger's at the anchor desk.

Speaker 5 (04:23):
And of course Elijah is our social media guru.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
You know what.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
One of the glaring things that happened, and we talked
about him about the Dallas Cowboys. I picked them to win.
I said, they've been they've been so bad because I
told you I had no rhyme or reason. I was
going on just pure it happens. People wining, You're not
gonna lose everything. That's exactly what it was, like. It's Atlanta,
My god, you know, am I really crowned Atlanta? They

(04:49):
can't be beat. The Cowboys are bad. I get it.
They'll luck their way into a win or what. They
can't even look their way into a win or to anything.
To be honest, they're so bad. But the season's over,
and you know what, you gotta figure it out. Dak
has heard he's gonna miss a few weeks. I don't know,

(05:09):
are they gonna finally let Trey Lance get in there
or try. I know he's not the number two quarterback,
but right, but you know what I'm saying, like they
know what you already know what he is. I would
try to take a look at Trey Lance. Why not,
like like just to see if he's anything or do
we need to move on because the guy was a
top pick right in the first round by the forty

(05:29):
nine ers. But my point is this is not about
just firing Mike McCarthy. We already know that he'll have
a contract for next year. We already know he won't
be back so that's not telling you anything special about
what the Cowboys are. You could you could cut Ezekiel
Elliott right. He's not rushing for anything. This guy can't

(05:52):
make meetings. He's late. They left him behind this past
weekend because he just he would. I didn't go to
meetings or whatever. I don't even know how guy's career
is hanging by a shoe string.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Because late lighted that they're not using him enough. He
already said that a few weeks ago. So you don't
go to you know, you come later.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
I didn't say he wasn't being Petty Wap. He is
Petty Wap's brother. Petty. I don't even understand, like, like
you're playing football.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
People got to work a real eight or ten hours
for no money, and you're playing in the NFL and
you can't go to practice or if you can't be
on time.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Seriously, Nope, I think it's a pout. That's sweets.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Y'all brought me back using me enough, man, could be
I could be better than this.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
I think I agreed you.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
No running back for the Cowboys to rush for more
than thirteen yards on and to carry I mean like
it's like really bad.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
I mean you can only go so far. But go ahead.
I know you're cook into something. Yeah, here's my biggest
here's my biggest thing.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
You already signed a quarterback, and you signed right Dak
Prescott for sixty million a year. You signed Ceede Lamb,
who's more like a money market because he doesn't have
a quarterback really so right now, But if I'm the Cowboys,
I think big and I try.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
To change what you have here.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Okay, I would trade Michaeh Parsons and try to get
some pieces and first round picks that are going to
fill these holes because defensively they can't stop anybody, right,
And what is the point on having you Remember, he's
got to get paid. He's not taking you got a discount.

(07:23):
He's gotta get big money, so you're gonna pay. You
got a quarterback with big money, a wide receiver with
big money, and now you're gonna sign a defensive right
player with big money and your team can't win.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Nah, I'm not doing that.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
You have to make drastic times, call for drastic measures.
I think they should trade Michael Parsons well and throwing
his podcast as a podcast.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Yea, And now if you act now, you'll get Micah's
of the podcast, No, I hear you, And if I
was a Dallas Cowboy fan, I would understand the frustration
and the need to do something drastic, and I do
think they should. But I do think there's a greater
issue right now with them, and it seems to be cultural,
like something's just off. The mojo ain't mojo, and right now,

(08:09):
something is not working, not clicking within the organization. You
got Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb getting into a multiple
games and I'm used, we all used to quarterbacks and
receivers having a moment, but they had it for multiple games.
You got Michah Parsons going on this podcast talking about
top ten quarterbacks, not mentioning.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Darn Offiel mic Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
You got Dak on the sideline on being in just
talking about we blank and suck. Something just seems to
be off right now with them as a whole. You got,
of course, Jerry Jones yelling at people, yelling at radio people,
threatening to fire people. So the whole dack On organization
right now isn't a funk. So I don't think just
getting rid of Mike Parsons Michael Parsons is the answer

(08:51):
and Also why I don't like that is because, as
you know, I'm big on guarantees and what that means
is like, for the most pipe part, I know what
I'm getting. For Michael Parson. I'm not saying he's gonna
get twenty two sacks every year, but I know went
healthy one going at all times is that I know.
But when he's healthy, he's not my issue. It's Aiden Hutchinson.
I'm big on that.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
TJ.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Watt, guys like that Chris Jones for the Chiefs. That's
why they couldn't let him go. Because guys like that,
I know what I'm getting and that helps me kind
of ease my pains.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Okay, I could tell that the Cowboys have not been
to the NFC Championship Game since like ninety six. I mean,
I'm just no. I know, I know, but I don't
think I'm saying this is the time you gonna pay
another guy megabucks on this team.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
The issue to me is it's who else you pay
like you paid Dak crazy money. Mike's gonna get paid,
but Mike, I know, for the next few years, is
gonna get me twelve sacks, you know, three forest pullers.
I kind of can penciland when I know what's gonna happen,
and those are kind of those are the plays that
can help change games. It's some other things, some other
bad decisions, ignoring Derrick Henry who said he would love

(09:58):
to play in Texas again, and he just ignored Derrick
Henry city. And now, yeah, well you find some money
as much as you do Jerry Jones, you better find
some money if in Jerry world, Jerry's world, you go
find money for Derek Henry, who looks incredible, him and
Sakwan competing for the best backs in the league, along
with the combo that you're getting out of Detroit. Not singularly,
but I'm just they look a mess as a whole.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
It looks bad.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
It's so disappointing because here they go again with high
expectations to do something and they just look a mess.
Like I said, and really, their quarterback, who Mike I
said ain't top ten, said it best we blank and suck,
and they do blank and suck.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Right now.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
They let Kirk Obangs Kirk Cousins go in there and
go crazy Kirk Cousins, and now the Falcons are one
for five straight. He's throwing touchdowns all over the place,
wearing chains on planes, got the whole place swag surfing.
So they let the Falcons continue to have successful They
just look a mess right now. And I think it's
a complete Overallaul needed. Yeah, but how do you make
it complete?

Speaker 5 (10:54):
Old Whatever that you need, you need, picks, you need,
like this is what you have to take, something that's
valuable you have to give to get.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
You're not gonna get the so so I would take
and try to go get.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
I'm not you know that Michaeh Parsons, who's not ready
to get paid, Like, go get two first round picks.
In the second round, pick for a guy who's established,
who can bring value that somebody would cover it. And
then you go get younger guys who you hope one
of them could develop in a player similar. Now I'm
not saying he's gonna replace Micah from day one and
be the same guy, but you just can't bring back

(11:30):
the same group overpay or pay all these guys, and
you can't stop anybody defensively, and you can't win.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
I mean they got some defensively, DeMarcus Lawrence is out.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
What do you do though? What I'm saying I think
you Hagar had On. We're missing Micah, DeMarcus Lawrence is out.
Bland has just been out. Like I think you've rest
on man our defense. We haven't even seen our defense
at a peak, and when we do will be better.
I think that playoff game, I guess the right, but
I think that's what they're banking on. We're missing our
two best defensive players, and DeMarcus Lawrence and also Micah

(12:03):
when they get back, will be better. I'm looking at
Mike McCarthy in the sense of it's not that you
you're terrible and we don't have winning records. When you've
been our coach, you don't enlisted anything. There's no mojo.
You're not getting us going. Maybe there's something better up there.
But they went thirteen I know what I'm saying that,
but you but ultimately he's not getting it done in
the postseason. And that's team that is their expected They're

(12:24):
not the Tennessee Titans, where they Hey man, we went
twelve thirteen games.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
But where's this year. There's no way this team should
be as bad as it is.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
And that's why I'm looking at the coach and I'm like,
can you get something? Look at that, can you get
some uh and and again this is desperate measures, right,
this is what we're talking.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
Knew that they did nothing in the in the in
the off season that they didn't boast of the general manager.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
It's jes what.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
I'm just saying that at some point you got to
start to if you really want to shake it up
and do something, you gotta do something drastic and bold.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
That's Can Steve have a talk with Daddy one day,
just over some wings, over a nice little cold ice
having just say, hey, man, Dad, I was just thinking,
like what if you just went home with mom and
just retired or just went this you good? Literally, just Dad, No, Hey,
remember you always said you wanted to go on that
excurs and that cruise for six.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Go ahead and do that, Pops, go ahead and do that.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Yeah, you know, we got face time now, Dad, You
can just face time, you boy. I'll tell you, hain't Dad,
I'm in the office. This is what we're doing. Steve
is Steve though, is his son not a piece of
the problem. But I'm saying, at least we got half
the problem going. If Daddy's gone, my goodness, all right, man,
that's part of the issue.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine,
six sixty three sixty nine. How would you try to
fix the Cowboys? Should they consider something drastic like trading MICHAEH.
Parsons and his podcast. We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
You just made it Rain in the studio. It is
for sure Magic City Monday. Would you like to explain yourself. Well,
Shay here at Fox Sports. Way to meet him out
of bet. We started out it was fifty bucks. He
had the Dodgers. I had the Yankee. He's the biggest
Dodger to the one day. He don't have on any
Dodgers stuff, right right, he always has something on it,

(14:51):
Jersey something right. So you know me, I'm a man
of my word. If I'm gonna make a bet, I'm gonna
pay off. So I paid off. Well, I couldn't do
it in a traditional you're.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Just sad to just make it rain in the studio. Yes,
we got videos, so we'll definitely get that out there.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Yeah, we'll post that off here you out here. Look
now he's in the studio and the other one making
it rain. Look look up, Rob say cheese.

Speaker 2 (15:11):

I could have made three hundred.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Dollars off of you. Oh man, I gotta start doing.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Rob g remind me to just absolutely take the bets
because I feel like I'm up like eight to two
right now in all the conversations we've had about who's
gonna do what? All right, eight to two? What what show?
You listen Elijah Runner tape. He knows no tape.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Running this tape for the last seven years, and.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
That's why he looked at me. He's like, Man, don't
remind that man. How mad this picks on? Yeah, I
gotta do Shekel City with him. A little bit later
on eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox, we're talking about the Cowboys
do it big, Do it big and get rid of Micah,
says Rob. I say, you gotta start from the top down.
I mean, you can't go all the way to top
Jerry Jones, but it might be time for somebody else

(16:23):
calling the place calling the shots, calling things in that organization.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
All right, big a in Odessa, you're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, big ayo, Hey, I wanted.

Speaker 7 (16:38):
You to sell a rob I've been saying it for
months that we need to do a herschel Walker and
go ahead and live leave.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
Michael Potson's right, you got you gotta do something big
in order to get picks in order to help yourself rebuild,
because they need They got so many.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
They got more holes than the golf course right now?

Speaker 7 (16:59):
All right, if you and if if you look at it,
make sure forty six percent of the cap is gonna
be taken up by two guys and uh Dak Prescott.
So where is it that you could have paid thirty
five plus millions to Michael Ports and you're.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Not going in Let me ask you this.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Would y'all start to consider trading Dak to who somebody.

Speaker 7 (17:26):
Sixty million dollars for a quarterback that don't make your
team better? He don't he don't elevate the guys. You
have to have the guys to elevate him.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Right. Why you didn't tell Jerry this a year ago?
Why you call Jerry? Hey? Big called big An. You
had a home run with that one. Who's next?

Speaker 5 (17:44):
How about Tim? Chili Tim? In Atlanta, you're a couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Chili Tim? You got him?

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Nah?

Speaker 2 (17:54):
He got called to go do some duties.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
She said, I told you to bring home that bread
and that milk he forgot.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
In Corona, California, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
What's up in it? What's up? Man?

Speaker 8 (18:06):
Hey guys? Happy Magic City Monday?

Speaker 2 (18:08):
No doubt.

Speaker 8 (18:10):
Uh no, they should. I agree with Rob Man. They
should trade Mike because even in vis because my.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
Two years deal.

Speaker 8 (18:17):
So that adds value to whatever team is bringing him
in so you can get more draft picks for him.
And in the big spot, he's always playing an egg.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
He's going to like in that playoff game last year,
you know, he talk on his podcast that he did
his part, but the defense got out of Jordan. I
definitely didn't like him calling out other players, and you know,
because he's a part of the defense.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Yeah, I didn't.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Lot didn't like that from a leadership standpoint, absolutely, And.

Speaker 8 (18:41):
You know it's one it's for leadership and too there's
no accountability, so and you can get the most draft
capital from you know, getting rid of him. So if
you do that, I didn't think they should have paid
Dak Prescott anyway, but you know I had called on
the show because three years ago they forgot they didn't
have timeouts left when they ended their season. Then Zeke
was playing center. There's a and now they're not gonna
make the playoffs. I mean, it's really you know, if

(19:03):
you don't like the Dallas Cowboys, it's a really great
last four years. I hope they don't trade Michael Parsons
and they pay him and then they're you know, stuck
on this roller coaster and give us and give joy
to the rest of the NFL.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Well, you know for a fact, that's a lot, and
appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
And if Jerry's gonna pay him, Jerry pays all his guys.
Like if you're one of his guys.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
Big Age just just talked about it, you already got you.
You won't have any money because you three guys will
will hag up like fifty sixty percent of your page, Jerry.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
But you get what I'm saying.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
CD.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Dak Ezekiel got paid a few years back.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
But I'm just saying at this point because of what
he just did.

Speaker 5 (19:44):
I'm telling you, somebody's gonna have to talk to him
and say, Micah is not gonna work.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
He's gonna find some way to find some money. But
not the same money he could have fouled for Derrick Henry,
That's for sure. All Right, conversation about the best team
in NFC on deck right now.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Cup
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
That couple Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington on the Magic
City Monday. Uh looking for Actually, I'm looking forward to
seeing this when you got the home team and you
got the the new home team where I live.

Speaker 5 (20:18):
But speaking out, and let me give a quick shout
out to the Troy Hawkins. All right, LaTroy Hawkins, the
former major league pitcher who's listening in his car in Arizona. So,
my man, I had to say, what's up, what's up Troy?
We appreciate that he's the biggest Kansas City chief.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
I think.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
You feel about them.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
Hold on, he is Patrick Mahomes godfather. I'm almost positive
because his dad was a major and he still likes you.
He likes me anyway, Am I writer?

Speaker 6 (20:43):
Wrong?

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Troy Ryan secks that man because I don't know if
you heard what he's been saying about your godson, all
types of disrespect. Called that man Daniel Jones. Detroit Text
him right now and tell him he is wild. But
shout out to Detroit for listening. No doubt you mis
mentioned the Pistons. Just go I want to talk about
the Lions doing what they were supposed to do again
in a ten point victory in Lambeau against this second

(21:07):
team in the NFC North, the green Bay Packers. You
remember you covered the Lions for so long, Remember them
going to green Bay. There was like a twenty five
to thirty year drought of a winning green Bay.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Know it was that long.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
It was something ridiculous, and they could never win in
green Bay. They literally just mark it as an l
when the Lions would go to green Bay. Now you
got Jared Goff, who's been three and oh the last
few games against the Packers getting the job done and
again the same thing. I SAUFDF like a freaking record player,
repeating myself. I like the way they come out and

(21:40):
they take care of business. Rob right off the bat.
They don't play around. They're playing, coming in, running the ball.
They're physical. It was wet, it was rainy, and you
would think because they're an indoor team. You got Dan
Campbell talking about that, they're built for any condition. However
the game needs to be played. They can play you
want to run, you want to do you know, the
greatest show on turstyle. If it's a fast indoor game,

(22:01):
they obviously can do that too. They're just built differently
and I love what iout Again I'm seeing from them
go in there, beat the Packers, control the NFC North
and control the NFC as a whole, and remind people why,
in my opinion, the best team right now in the NFL.
You can obviously there's a couple of disagreement, you know,
and there's a couple of teams that you could argue.

(22:21):
Obviously ones getting ready to play the Kansas City Chiefs
can have something to say with that.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
I'm not with them either.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
With the chief well, we know you're with the Ravens,
which I'm with the Ravens too, but not right now.
When it comes to the difference between the Ravens and
the Lions. The Ravens go in and they can have meltdowns,
which is fine in a whole seventeen game season like that,
it's gonna happen. But they have meltdowns they let bad
teams beat them or they let bad teams come back,
and the opposite with the Lions. They're just destroying people, period,

(22:48):
putting their foot on their throats, period, and taking care
of business. And then you gotta start talking about what
Jared Goff is doing. Man, his numbers are weird because
they're not like he's throwing three hundred and fifties four
hundred yard games because he doesn't have to. He's just
right now the last six games at eighty three percent
of his passes, which is crazy right now. So he's

(23:08):
just lead his team down, they're scoring, they're taking care
of the yawns. Did he have fourteen? That's why I
said the stats are weird, Like I'm not gonna sit
up here and say, you know, he's not putting a
five thousand yards. This saysn't Matthew Stafford from the Lion
d a's or anything. But they're weird because if you
just looked at the stats they're misleading. If you watch
the game, you realize he's taking full advantage of every opportunity,

(23:29):
every opportunity they're scoring, they're getting in the end zone.
And to me, that's why I'm getting. I'm they're the
best team in the NFC and they're scary. You said
the best team in the NFL, NFL, I'm sorry, best
team in the NFL, and now literally as they've beaten
the if you watch the Ravens yesterday or Ravens look
good the Ravens, I know.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
But I still I think they're the best team.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
And but you gotta feel me when I say they
they kind of like, I don't know if they start
thinking about next week or I don't know, they have
these what everybody was talking about Denver and what they
had done and all Lucas, Sewan Payton's done with bow
Nicks and look short.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
All of that.

Speaker 5 (24:06):
They went in there and they destroyed them. I mean,
we just saw. But that was very lions like of
them to destroy a bad team. They're supposed to destroy.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Five and they were five and three coming in. They
were a bad team. Nobody thinking about Denver, No, sincerely,
nobody is thinking about that.

Speaker 5 (24:20):
But I could say that about most of the Lions
win I know, except for the two road winds Green
Bay and Minnesota. But the other games, if you go
look at those games, they would get against team.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
But that's what I'm saying, like seeing the Ravens do
what we're talking about. The Ravens go in there and
take care of business, not have those weird where they
start not paying attention, letting teams come back. You almost
let the Cowboys come back and beat you. You lose
to the the Browns, who we just saw didn't look
terrible this week yesterday, and then you also lose the Raiders.

(24:51):
Firing that the Raiders firing everybody. Everybody get fired, act
like Donald Trump and the Prentice everybody getting fired.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I thought that, I really did.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
I'm not saying I thought they gonna run off with
some great run and make the playoffs. But I thought
the Browns would utilize that win. But they still might.
But they but they would turn. But I mean, that's
the Jameis Winston experience. Like he might come back next
game throw three hundred yards three touchdowns. But you need
to tell after that Baltimore win though, and remember they

(25:19):
won it on the last drive and they won the game.
So you would have thought maybe they had a feel like, hey,
you know, we got a quarterback. Now Deshaun Watson is
not here, there's no distraction. You know, Jameis Winston can play.
We know that. It's just not it's not as consistent
as difference between a good quarterback and a great quarterback
versus the mediocre perennial backups.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
It's just consistency.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Jameis Winston might literally throw three hundred and fifty yards,
three touchdowns and rush for one next week and none
of us will be surprised. It's the consistency that he lacks,
doing it weekend week out, weekend week out, And that
brings me back to my Jared Goff. Jared Goff is
just doing exactly what he's supposed to do. And also
credit the defense super We were a little worried with
Aiden Hutchinson.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Now they let some yards go.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
For sure, the Packers did get four hundred plus yards,
but it's kind of a just it was just an
ugly game for them. But that's the thing, right, there's consistency, man,
and that's the thing that makes anybody good than anything,
even what we do for a living. When you're consistent
and you're dependable, that's what you become is you know,
good to great. But when you're Jameis Winston looked terrible.
Three interceptions yesterday reminded us why he was a backup.

(26:26):
And then, like I said, it was as crazy as
he'll do next week, Go go for four hundred yards.
You just never know what.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
In Tampa you had five thousand yards. Thirty interceptions.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
You know he now has one hundred career interceptions. Yeah,
and he threw most of them in one season thirty
I think thirty thirty three.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
And that one year third of his exceptions of the hundred.
That was so he had a good that year. Was
he did all the other stuff. He had a lot
of touchdown doctor chal with mister Hide, but too many
and that was ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Why aren't you Why you don't like the Lions, Rob Parker,
is what I'm trying to get at.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
No, are you jaded even too many years watching? I
don't think that best team in the league. I think
a good team, yeah in the NFC. No, I'm saying
the league, yeah, better than Kansas City because I don't
think far You say a second because because I'm meant
the ball.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
I think we flop.

Speaker 5 (27:10):
For me, like I think Baltimore's had very impressive wins
and even when they lost and they got two stinkers.
My thing is they we started the season zero in
too and now that's six and three. We looked called
that we knew like the season wasn't over and that
they were way too good.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
The first one they could have won, that game against
Kansas City in Kansas.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Man was a bad loss.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
Fight have scored thirteen in the fourth quarter in Baltimore
to win, and that was like weird.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
That's what we would worry about them is they kind
of mentally lose it a little bit. Their offense is crazy.
Later on, when we have another Lamar Jackson conversation, I
want to tell you what he reminds me of what
I'm seeing right now is almost like a prophetic what
could have been. But yeah, if listen, if we get
a Lion's raven Super Bowl, I mean, that is insane,
that's incredible. I don't don't think there is there. I

(28:01):
predicted the Lions and the Chiefs, but if it's Lions Ravens,
sign me up.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Is there? I mean, I don't think Rob g.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
You can jump in on this too, even Steve, if
you want, Like, is there a better super Bowl to
you laying around than the Lion's Ravens or a Lions chief.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
From from entertainment fact, You're just not.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
So Ravens Ravens Lions would be the kind of games
people would want to watch. Yeah, But Patrick Mahomes he
warming up right now looking at you about what mar
do you want from me?

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Well, semon it up.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Speaking of Patrick Mahomes, we're gonna have his godfather coming
up next, okay, La Troy Hawkins will join us, will preview.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Does he know what you've been talking this Mac? You've
been talking.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
You can talk, you listen to our show, whatever, whatever
you gotta say. Me and him we're cool, you know,
opinion not because you don't come in too hard. So
Patrick mahomes godfather will join us next on the Odd Couple,
and we got some Shekel City.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
We do have some Shekel City. Let me look at
your face on his gage. I'm good. You're good. No,
you're not good. You're okay right now, but you they're good. Probably.

Shekel City.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Two. Shekel City the hole base for Rob Parker's daily
picks against the spread.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
All right, here we go, Shekel City. Best bet.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
I'm taking the Buccaneers plus nine against the Chiefs. You
know what's craz In the last four games the Buccaneers
have played the Chiefs. Yeah, they're three and one. Least
have their number, Buccaneers. Man, they beat the Lions too,
they beat half their numbers. Yeah, Buccaneers. So I have
Buccaneers plus nine. I know they got a couple of injuries.
I'm still gonna take it tonight. Pistons plus six and

(30:16):
a half. Uh look, rights, Yeah, they're up by fourth
real early, but I think it'll be a closer game
than expected. Of course, these all came out earlier on
social media. Elijah hooked us up and I have the
Nets plus four and a half hosting the Grizzlies.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
So again, Nets plus four and a half, Pistons plus
six and a half, and the Buccaneers plus nine. And remember, Kelvin,
I'm not telling you who the better. I'm telling you
who I bet on, all right.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
All right, usually that I told you that, just go
to opposite. That's my bet, all right?

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Who do we have on the line, Yeah, somebody who's
right might want some smoke with you, Rob.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
We got LaTroy Hawkins, the former major league pitcher who
pitched you ready twenty one major league seasons, one forty
two games in his major league career, the tenth most
games pitched him by a pictures man. And he happens
to be Patrick Mahomes Godfather.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
What's up, Latroit?

Speaker 7 (31:13):
How up?

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Latroit?

Speaker 6 (31:14):
What's up? Fellas? How y'all doing.

Speaker 5 (31:16):
Man, We're doing great. So you are in a z
driving around. You got to hear us on the show?

Speaker 7 (31:22):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
I'm here in Arizona with the Team USA the premiere twelve.
We headed to Mexico tomorrow and you know the coaches.
We have our own van, I mean truck to go
back and forth to the stadium. And I was listening.
I was like, oh, that's Rob Yeah, like okay, so
and then I turned it up when you mentioned my
name and they were just tripping. They were like, wow,
come on, they who don't you know?

Speaker 1 (31:43):
I'm sorry, Bright, look at you pitched a thousand plus games.
We're still in school once. They're talking about you on
the radio. Hey, Latroit, have you been hearing with it
this man has said about your godson over the last
few weeks.

Speaker 6 (31:55):
Yeah, I mean I get it.

Speaker 7 (31:56):
I understand.

Speaker 6 (31:56):
I mean, can you get paid for his opinion?

Speaker 7 (31:58):
And hey, I do broadcast in Minnesota.

Speaker 6 (32:01):
I got my own opinion on Yes, we get paid.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
For it about he can't have a crazy wold opinion.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
All let me say this, let's do this.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
How They just had a graphic that Patrick Mahomes has
thrown an interception in nine of his last ten games
and all seven this year.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
What is the difference?

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Because he's not playing like the way that we saw
him break into the league.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
And that's what I've been pointing out.

Speaker 5 (32:32):
I can't get over the turnovers, the interceptions, and and
you know how many games he doesn't even throw for
two hundred yards. It's amazing to me from where he
started to where he is now.

Speaker 6 (32:43):
Well, I just think that the offense has evolved in
so many different ways, and and you start breaking down
his numbers, when you look at the fourth quarter, it's
a whole different story. So when the game is on
the line, he's at his best. And granted he stole
some picks this year, some deflected. You know, it happens.
It's part of the game. But when it's time to really,

(33:04):
you know, lock in and make a play, they're looking
for pators that make plays, and players make plays, and
he's going to make the play now now.

Speaker 5 (33:10):
Being your god son, and of course Pat Mahomes his
dad pitched in the major leagues as well. But did
you ever, like have any idea when he's playing at
Texas Tech, I mean, or did when he was a
baseball pitcher as well, right, did you know like he
was going to take football not baseball and be where

(33:31):
he is or you had no idea he would be
of this level.

Speaker 6 (33:35):
We so, you know, we know he's doing the same
thing now that he was doing in high school. He's
just doing it with a little bit more base I
mean football act like being a quarterback. He know what
it takes to be a quarterback now. But we always
knew that he had it in him. It just when
he went to college. He didn't know if he wanted
to play football or baseball going in. But once he

(33:58):
had that first year of football under his belt and
be an opportunity to start, that's when he put put
baseball on a back burner. And then really you know,
went to spring practice and all that stuff and just
started to really compete for the job and won the
job and the rest is history. You need to put
everything into it. He was good.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Well, you leave me to a conversation we actually had once, Rob.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
If you remember, you got a lot of guys Jameis
Winston was a pitcher and then obviously quarterback Kyler Williams,
Kyler Murra, I'm sorry, Kyler Murray got Drew Henson obviously
folks like your god son, what would you?

Speaker 2 (34:27):
I don't know that you played football or not.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Maybe you did, but if you were in a position
where they these guys are.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
You played twenty one years in the big league?

Speaker 7 (34:34):
Right?

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Well I don't played twenty one years. No, that's true.
But I'm asking. We know America's favorite sport by far
as football. We know the biggest position all the sports
is quarterback. What would you if you were a star quarterback?
By Tyler Murry?

Speaker 2 (34:45):
Can I ask him? Would you? What would you have done?
Or what do you think?

Speaker 7 (34:49):
Like?

Speaker 1 (34:50):
You like that players the decisions they made to kind
of go be this hero and the biggest sport at
the biggest position.

Speaker 6 (34:56):
So the one thing that all those guys have in
common is quarterback at the quarter of back position. And
I think if you have that talent at the quarterback
quarterback position. And as as another sport, I would say,
go play football because you're gonna make your money faster,
because you're gonna you're not gonna have to go If
you're gonna take baseball, you're gonna have to go to
minor league and ride the bus. And with the NFL

(35:16):
you go to college, you're gonna get drafted this first
round second A you're gonna get you get paid right
out of the gate, and.

Speaker 7 (35:21):
You're gonna be playing on Sundays.

Speaker 6 (35:23):
So now, if you're a running back or a linebacker
or something like that, I would I would say you
need to like maybe explore your options. But at the
quarterback position, you're gonna be protected, You're gonna make the
most money. It's a no brainer.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
You heard what he said, Rob, Yeah, no, no, no,
you were trying to sway the witness.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
I was trying to let him. One thing is you
get to play.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
Most guys in the NFL get a cup of coffee
in the suite role.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
You know that they don't have long enough careers.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
If you could play baseball at a high level, you're
crazy not to pick that.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
But it brought up some great points. You get that.
But that's just a couple of seasons.

Speaker 6 (36:02):
But I'm talking about one position, the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Quarterback.

Speaker 6 (36:07):
All right, if you're gonna be a running back or
I'm just being funny right here, I'm not really calling
running backs crash down. But if you're gonna be a
crash down, your running back and lineback and go play baseball.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Great right now here, Hey Latroit Hawkins, we appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (36:22):
I know you have the LL chiefs winning tonight, right,
we already know that.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
All right, Thank you, my man. All I appreciate you.
Thank you. All right, our number two of the auto
that I was right, that's staying
