My god, you know, am I really crowned Atlanta? They

can't be beat. The Cowboys are bad. I get it.
They'll luck their way into a win or what. They
can't even look their way into a win or to anything.
To be honest, they're so bad. But the season's over,
and you know what, you gotta figure it out. Dak
has heard he's gonna miss a few weeks. I don't know,

are they gonna finally let Trey Lance get in there
or try. I know he's not the number two quarterback,
but right, but you know what I'm saying, like they
know what you already know what he is. I would
try to take a look at Trey Lance. Why not,
like like just to see if he's anything or do

just firing Mike McCarthy. We already know that he'll have
a contract for next year. We already know he won't
be back so that's not telling you anything special about
what the Cowboys are. You could you could cut Ezekiel

make meetings. He's late. They left him behind this past
weekend because he just he would. I didn't go to
meetings or whatever. I don't even know how guy's career
is hanging by a shoe string.

Okay, I would trade Michaeh Parsons and try to get
some pieces and first round picks that are going to
fill these holes because defensively they can't stop anybody, right,

got a quarterback with big money, a wide receiver with
big money, and now you're gonna sign a defensive right
player with big money and your team can't win.

was a Dallas Cowboy fan, I would understand the frustration
and the need to do something drastic, and I do
think they should. But I do think there's a greater
issue right now with them, and it seems to be cultural,
like something's just off. The mojo ain't mojo, and right now,

something is not working, not clicking within the organization. You
got Dak Prescott and Ceedee Lamb getting into a multiple
games and I'm used, we all used to quarterbacks and
receivers having a moment, but they had it for multiple games.
You got Michah Parsons going on this podcast talking about
top ten quarterbacks, not mentioning.

You got Dak on the sideline on being in just

getting rid of Mike Parsons Michael Parsons is the answer

get twenty two sacks every year, but I know went
healthy one going at all times is that I know.
But when he's healthy, he's not my issue. It's Aiden Hutchinson.

think I'm saying this is the time you gonna pay
another guy megabucks on this team.

The issue to me is it's who else you pay
like you paid Dak crazy money. Mike's gonna get paid,
but Mike, I know, for the next few years, is
gonna get me twelve sacks, you know, three forest pullers.
I kind of can penciland when I know what's gonna happen,
and those are kind of those are the plays that
can help change games. It's some other things, some other
bad decisions, ignoring Derrick Henry who said he would love

to play in Texas again, and he just ignored Derrick
Henry city. And now, yeah, well you find some money
as much as you do Jerry Jones, you better find
some money if in Jerry world, Jerry's world, you go
find money for Derek Henry, who looks incredible, him and
Sakwan competing for the best backs in the league, along
with the combo that you're getting out of Detroit. Not singularly,
but I'm just they look a mess as a whole.

expectations to do something and they just look a mess.
Like I said, and really, their quarterback, who Mike I

just look a mess right now. And I think it's
a complete Overallaul needed. Yeah, but how do you make
it complete?

like this is what you have to take, something that's
valuable you have to give to get.

and try to go get.

to get paid, Like, go get two first round picks.
In the second round, pick for a guy who's established,
who can bring value that somebody would cover it. And
then you go get younger guys who you hope one
of them could develop in a player similar. Now I'm
not saying he's gonna replace Micah from day one and
be the same guy, but you just can't bring back

the same group overpay or pay all these guys, and
you can't stop anybody defensively, and you can't win.

I mean they got some defensively, DeMarcus Lawrence is out.

What do you do though? What I'm saying I think
you Hagar had On. We're missing Micah, DeMarcus Lawrence is out.
Bland has just been out. Like I think you've rest
on man our defense. We haven't even seen our defense
at a peak, and when we do will be better.
I think that playoff game, I guess the right, but
I think that's what they're banking on. We're missing our
two best defensive players, and DeMarcus Lawrence and also Micah

when they get back, will be better. I'm looking at
Mike McCarthy in the sense of it's not that you
you're terrible and we don't have winning records. When you've
been our coach, you don't enlisted anything. There's no mojo.
You're not getting us going. Maybe there's something better up there.

but you but ultimately he's not getting it done in
the postseason. And that's team that is their expected They're

They're physical. It was wet, it was rainy, and you
would think because they're an indoor team. You got Dan
Campbell talking about that, they're built for any condition. However
the game needs to be played. They can play you
want to run, you want to do you know, the
greatest show on turstyle. If it's a fast indoor game,

they obviously can do that too. They're just built differently
and I love what iout Again I'm seeing from them
go in there, beat the Packers, control the NFC North
and control the NFC as a whole, and remind people why,
in my opinion, the best team right now in the NFL.
You can obviously there's a couple of disagreement, you know,
and there's a couple of teams that you could argue.

Obviously ones getting ready to play the Kansas City Chiefs
can have something to say with that.

I'm not with them either.

With the chief well, we know you're with the Ravens,
which I'm with the Ravens too, but not right now.
When it comes to the difference between the Ravens and
the Lions. The Ravens go in and they can have meltdowns,
which is fine in a whole seventeen game season like that,
it's gonna happen. But they have meltdowns they let bad
teams beat them or they let bad teams come back,
and the opposite with the Lions. They're just destroying people, period,
(22:48):
putting their foot on their throats, period, and taking care
of business. And then you gotta start talking about what
Jared Goff is doing. Man, his numbers are weird because
they're not like he's throwing three hundred and fifties four
hundred yard games because he doesn't have to. He's just
right now the last six games at eighty three percent
of his passes, which is crazy right now. So he's
(23:08):
just lead his team down, they're scoring, they're taking care
of the yawns. Did he have fourteen? That's why I
said the stats are weird, Like I'm not gonna sit
up here and say, you know, he's not putting a
five thousand yards. This saysn't Matthew Stafford from the Lion
d a's or anything. But they're weird because if you
just looked at the stats they're misleading. If you watch
the game, you realize he's taking full advantage of every opportunity,

every opportunity they're scoring, they're getting in the end zone.
And to me, that's why I'm getting. I'm they're the
best team in the NFC and they're scary. You said
the best team in the NFL, NFL, I'm sorry, best
team in the NFL, and now literally as they've beaten
the if you watch the Ravens yesterday or Ravens look
good the Ravens, I know.

But I still I think they're the best team.

And but you gotta feel me when I say they
they kind of like, I don't know if they start
thinking about next week or I don't know, they have
these what everybody was talking about Denver and what they
had done and all Lucas, Sewan Payton's done with bow
Nicks and look short.

They went in there and they destroyed them. I mean,
we just saw. But that was very lions like of
them to destroy a bad team. They're supposed to destroy.

Five and they were five and three coming in. They
were a bad team. Nobody thinking about Denver, No, sincerely,
nobody is thinking about that.

But I could say that about most of the Lions
win I know, except for the two road winds Green
Bay and Minnesota. But the other games, if you go
look at those games, they would get against team.

But that's what I'm saying, like seeing the Ravens do
what we're talking about. The Ravens go in there and
take care of business, not have those weird where they
start not paying attention, letting teams come back. You almost
let the Cowboys come back and beat you. You lose
to the the Browns, who we just saw didn't look
terrible this week yesterday, and then you also lose the Raiders.

Firing that the Raiders firing everybody. Everybody get fired, act
like Donald Trump and the Prentice everybody getting fired.

I thought that, I really did.

I'm not saying I thought they gonna run off with
some great run and make the playoffs. But I thought
the Browns would utilize that win. But they still might.
But they but they would turn. But I mean, that's
the Jameis Winston experience. Like he might come back next
game throw three hundred yards three touchdowns. But you need
to tell after that Baltimore win though, and remember they

won it on the last drive and they won the game.
So you would have thought maybe they had a feel like, hey,
you know, we got a quarterback. Now Deshaun Watson is
not here, there's no distraction. You know, Jameis Winston can play.
We know that. It's just not it's not as consistent
as difference between a good quarterback and a great quarterback
versus the mediocre perennial backups.

It's just consistency.

Jameis Winston might literally throw three hundred and fifty yards,
three touchdowns and rush for one next week and none
of us will be surprised. It's the consistency that he lacks,
doing it weekend week out, weekend week out, And that
brings me back to my Jared Goff. Jared Goff is
just doing exactly what he's supposed to do. And also
credit the defense super We were a little worried with
Aiden Hutchinson.

Now they let some yards go.

For sure, the Packers did get four hundred plus yards,
but it's kind of a just it was just an
ugly game for them. But that's the thing, right, there's consistency, man,
and that's the thing that makes anybody good than anything,
even what we do for a living. When you're consistent
and you're dependable, that's what you become is you know,
good to great. But when you're Jameis Winston looked terrible.
Three interceptions yesterday reminded us why he was a backup.

And then, like I said, it was as crazy as
he'll do next week, Go go for four hundred yards.
You just never know what.

That was so he had a good that year. Was

I'm seeing right now is almost like a prophetic what
could have been. But yeah, if listen, if we get
a Lion's raven Super Bowl, I mean, that is insane,

Well, I just think that the offense has evolved in
so many different ways, and and you start breaking down
his numbers, when you look at the fourth quarter, it's
a whole different story. So when the game is on
the line, he's at his best. And granted he stole
some picks this year, some deflected. You know, it happens.
It's part of the game. But when it's time to really,

you know, lock in and make a play, they're looking
for pators that make plays, and players make plays, and
he's going to make the play now now.

Being your god son, and of course Pat Mahomes his
dad pitched in the major leagues as well. But did
you ever, like have any idea when he's playing at
Texas Tech, I mean, or did when he was a
baseball pitcher as well, right, did you know like he
was going to take football not baseball and be where

he is or you had no idea he would be
of this level.

We so, you know, we know he's doing the same
thing now that he was doing in high school. He's
just doing it with a little bit more base I
mean football act like being a quarterback. He know what
it takes to be a quarterback now. But we always
knew that he had it in him. It just when
he went to college. He didn't know if he wanted
to play football or baseball going in. But once he

had that first year of football under his belt and
be an opportunity to start, that's when he put put
baseball on a back burner. And then really you know,
went to spring practice and all that stuff and just
started to really compete for the job and won the
job and the rest is history. You need to put
everything into it. He was good.

go play football because you're gonna make your money faster,

minor league and ride the bus. And with the NFL

you go to college, you're gonna get drafted this first
round second A you're gonna get you get paid right
out of the gate, and.

So now, if you're a running back or a linebacker
or something like that, I would I would say you
need to like maybe explore your options. But at the
quarterback position, you're gonna be protected, You're gonna make the

they obviously can do that too. They're just built differently
and I love what iout Again I'm seeing from them
go in there, beat the Packers, control the NFC North
and control the NFC as a whole, and remind people why,
in my opinion, the best team right now in the NFL.

teams beat them or they let bad teams come back,
and the opposite with the Lions. They're just destroying people, period,

of business. And then you gotta start talking about what
Jared Goff is doing. Man, his numbers are weird because
they're not like he's throwing three hundred and fifties four
hundred yard games because he doesn't have to. He's just
right now the last six games at eighty three percent
of his passes, which is crazy right now. So he's

just lead his team down, they're scoring, they're taking care
of the yawns. Did he have fourteen? That's why I
said the stats are weird, Like I'm not gonna sit
up here and say, you know, he's not putting a
five thousand yards. This saysn't Matthew Stafford from the Lion
d a's or anything. But they're weird because if you
just looked at the stats they're misleading. If you watch
the game, you realize he's taking full advantage of every opportunity,

every opportunity they're scoring, they're getting in the end zone.
And to me, that's why I'm getting. I'm they're the
best team in the NFC and they're scary. You said
the best team in the NFL, NFL, I'm sorry, best
team in the NFL, and now literally as they've beaten
the if you watch the Ravens yesterday or Ravens look
good the Ravens, I know.

But I still I think they're the best team.

And but you gotta feel me when I say they
they kind of like, I don't know if they start
thinking about next week or I don't know, they have
these what everybody was talking about Denver and what they

They went in there and they destroyed them. I mean,
we just saw. But that was very lions like of
them to destroy a bad team. They're supposed to destroy.

But I could say that about most of the Lions
win I know, except for the two road winds Green

look at those games, they would get against team.

But that's what I'm saying, like seeing the Ravens do
what we're talking about. The Ravens go in there and
take care of business, not have those weird where they
start not paying attention, letting teams come back. You almost
let the Cowboys come back and beat you. You lose
to the the Browns, who we just saw didn't look
terrible this week yesterday, and then you also lose the Raiders.

Firing that the Raiders firing everybody. Everybody get fired, act
like Donald Trump and the Prentice everybody getting fired.

I'm not saying I thought they gonna run off with
some great run and make the playoffs. But I thought
the Browns would utilize that win. But they still might.
But they but they would turn. But I mean, that's
the Jameis Winston experience. Like he might come back next
game throw three hundred yards three touchdowns. But you need
to tell after that Baltimore win though, and remember they

won it on the last drive and they won the game.
So you would have thought maybe they had a feel like, hey,
you know, we got a quarterback. Now Deshaun Watson is
not here, there's no distraction. You know, Jameis Winston can play.
We know that. It's just not it's not as consistent
as difference between a good quarterback and a great quarterback
versus the mediocre perennial backups.

Jameis Winston might literally throw three hundred and fifty yards,
three touchdowns and rush for one next week and none
of us will be surprised. It's the consistency that he lacks,
doing it weekend week out, weekend week out, And that
brings me back to my Jared Goff. Jared Goff is
just doing exactly what he's supposed to do. And also
credit the defense super We were a little worried with
Aiden Hutchinson.

For sure, the Packers did get four hundred plus yards,
but it's kind of a just it was just an
ugly game for them. But that's the thing, right, there's consistency, man,

and you're dependable, that's what you become is you know,
good to great. But when you're Jameis Winston looked terrible.
Three interceptions yesterday reminded us why he was a backup.

Because he's not playing like the way that we saw
him break into the league.

And that's what I've been pointing out.

I can't get over the turnovers, the interceptions, and and
you know how many games he doesn't even throw for
two hundred yards. It's amazing to me from where he
started to where he is now.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
Well, I just think that the offense has evolved in
so many different ways, and and you start breaking down
his numbers, when you look at the fourth quarter, it's
a whole different story. So when the game is on
the line, he's at his best. And granted he stole
some picks this year, some deflected. You know, it happens.
It's part of the game. But when it's time to really,

you know, lock in and make a play, they're looking
for pators that make plays, and players make plays, and
he's going to make the play now now.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
Being your god son, and of course Pat Mahomes his
dad pitched in the major leagues as well. But did
you ever, like have any idea when he's playing at
Texas Tech, I mean, or did when he was a
baseball pitcher as well, right, did you know like he
was going to take football not baseball and be where
(33:31):
he is or you had no idea he would be
of this level.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
We so, you know, we know he's doing the same
thing now that he was doing in high school. He's
just doing it with a little bit more base I
mean football act like being a quarterback. He know what
it takes to be a quarterback now. But we always
knew that he had it in him. It just when
he went to college. He didn't know if he wanted
to play football or baseball going in. But once he
(33:58):
had that first year of football under his belt and
be an opportunity to start, that's when he put put
baseball on a back burner. And then really you know,
went to spring practice and all that stuff and just
started to really compete for the job and won the
job and the rest is history. You need to put
everything into it. He was good.

Winston was a pitcher and then obviously quarterback Kyler Williams,

Maybe you did, but if you were in a position
where they these guys are.

But I'm asking. We know America's favorite sport by far
as football. We know the biggest position all the sports
is quarterback. What would you if you were a star quarterback?

You like that players the decisions they made to kind
of go be this hero and the biggest sport at

So the one thing that all those guys have in
common is quarterback at the quarter of back position. And
I think if you have that talent at the quarterback
quarterback position. And as as another sport, I would say,
go play football because you're gonna make your money faster,
because you're gonna you're not gonna have to go If
you're gonna take baseball, you're gonna have to go to
minor league and ride the bus. And with the NFL
(35:16):
you go to college, you're gonna get drafted this first
round second A you're gonna get you get paid right
out of the gate, and.
Speaker 7 (35:21):
You're gonna be playing on Sundays.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
So now, if you're a running back or a linebacker
or something like that, I would I would say you
need to like maybe explore your options. But at the
quarterback position, you're gonna be protected, You're gonna make the
most money. It's a no brainer.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
You heard what he said, Rob, Yeah, no, no, no,
you were trying to sway the witness.
Speaker 2 (35:39):
I was trying to let him. One thing is you
get to play.

Most guys in the NFL get a cup of coffee
in the suite role.

You know that they don't have long enough careers.

If you could play baseball at a high level, you're
crazy not to pick that.

But it brought up some great points. You get that.
But that's just a couple of seasons.

But I'm talking about one position, the quarterback.
