Speaker 5 (01:50):
You want to know why I know it really working
and why they hit and why it resonated. Steve is
Sager claps. That's a great litmus test right here, Steve,
did you like that class right there? Like, because Steve listens.
Steve is hard. If you get something out of him.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Is real, Like, I got no offense. I love you guys,
but if Steve last, I know I did well.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Well first of all, Okay, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Okay, so don't zone in on what I'm saying about
what I was just saying when I was saying it.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
But yes, but when I kept it as a surprise
to you. But Alex loved it right away. When I
decided to make this happen Patrick Knowles yesterday because I
was working with Ricky, our imaging guy, about this, and
I think it'll be a nice little addition to our show.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
No, I like that.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
So, speaking of Suey, when we're out in public, I
can't wait. I can't wait till we actually you know,
whatever the event may be, man, the turn up is
going to be real.

Speaker 6 (02:38):
Well.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
The next one will be probably the super Bowl. Yeah,
but let me welcome in my partner he Washington, how
are you today feeling?

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Good man? What was this random rain that just happened
here in La out of the What the heck was that?
I know?

Speaker 5 (02:55):
And don't be running up on me when I'm having
a little private moment there.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
I know he's in the car. We're literally on the
phone for like ten to fifteen minutes figuring.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
And I pull up with my car to get to
the light.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
And he I say, hey, man, look, I say, hey,
look to your right.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
I don't know. I thought there was some wacky tobacco
going on in that car. I'm just saying, and mind
your business. First of all, Okay, how I get through
my day. Don't worry about how I get.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Through my day.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
I'm just first and be more s just acknowledge how
where are my surroundings? I am you aren't even that
next to me, but I just knew. I pay attention. Man,
you know peripheral call off my car? Yeah you see
that car at off? See the peripheric well yeah, see
call up the call of the car. Don't talk about it.
I'm not gonna talk about that. You have a very
nice car, nice color in the mat. I like the

(03:38):
Matt paint job. But here's the thing that still makes
it funny. So there's the point Patrick, you want to know.
I say, oh wait, He's like, what are you doing?
I said, man, I'm going to grab a coffee. You
gotta see me every day when my coffee. And then
I said where are you going? He said, well, cool,
text Patrick that I'm going to Raufs. You can't be
Why are you going to rouse every single they have
to sponsor you. I've never wanted to get I.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Go there every day. Basically, I just had some corn.
Sweet corn.

Speaker 5 (04:06):
You either eat like a like a broke college kid
or like an old eighty year old in a nursing home.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
All right, I'll take that. That's right. All right? Uh
coming up on the program, we got a lot to do.
Of course, Shekel City. We're gonna get to that. Don't forget.
It's a big fight tonight, Tyson and Paul.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
I know you're excited.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Yeah right. Sean King and our number two former NFL
quarterback and Fox Sports Radio NFL analyst of course, Lamar
Mitchell from bet MGM, the director of trading and I'm
going to Vegas tomorrow so I'll be there at MGM.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Just snuck that in at the MGM.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Grand I'm going tomorrow tomorrow to hang out and eat
and gamble and come back. All right, we'll do that
and pigskin pickoff. But first's welcome in the yd Couple crew.
We wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him. Of course, Alex is our engineer. Patrick is
our producer infloop G who I spoke to today, baby wife.

(05:06):
Everybody doing fine. They were on their way about to
get out of the hospital. Yeah, so everything is good.
Of course, Steve de Segu's at the anchor desk can
keep us updated throughout the show. And of course Elijah
that's right, is our social media gurule. All right, let's
get into this. And you saw the game last night.
Big win for Philadelphia. They were on a five game

(05:29):
winning streak. They win their six game against Washington. And
I told you this yesterday when we're talking with Martin Weiss,
I said, Washington, that game that they stole from the
Bears on the Hail Mary was huge because without that
they were seven and three going to that could have
been six and four, and then with that loss six right,
six and five, it's a totally different season. That's how big.

(05:52):
Stealing a game or winning a game is. But let's
talk about sa Kwon Barkley and what this guy has
has done for the Eagles and the whole idea and
notion that the Giants and I know is scoring right,
Joe Scoring the general manager, Shane Joe Shane Joe Shane. Okay,

(06:17):
Joe Shane is the general manager. And Brian dave Ball
we know is the head coach. Uh. These guys, I seriously,
I have to question. I have to question where they
are when they made this decision to let Sakuon Barkley go.

(06:38):
People make decisions all the time, mistakes, whatever. So now
you have a situation right where Daniel Jones may not
play another down as quarterback for the Giants and Sakuon
Barkley is running wild for your division rivals that you
allowed him to bounce to now practice. I don't care

(06:59):
what anybody says. This isn't a second guest. It's a
first guess, not a second guest. When it happened, we said,
what is this?

Speaker 3 (07:08):
How in the.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
World are you paying Daniel Jones and letting Saquon Barkley go.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
These guys should be broomed.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
I know they're not gonna do it today, and they
should have done it today, but they'll do it at
the end of the season. I mean talk about a
misstep and setting your franchise back.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
And the GM had the nerve to have a.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
Charte and look at it and all the stuffs are
down and running backs after X amount of years. So
to justify that, I'm really nervous and I might get
fired if I need to let everybody know this is
what I'm doing it. If you look at the sheet, yeah,
that was just trying to cover his but you know,
just to justify an outrageous move. Now, when you're talking
about Sakuon Barkley, couple of things. You gotta remember we
had the sound we played this a couple of weeks

(07:53):
ago back. Do you remember the they do the hard knocks? Yeah, okay,
here it is. Play this for me.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
We're not franchising. This is the owner of the Giants.

Speaker 7 (08:01):
Unless you think you can trade him after doing that, right,
and then could we get something in trading? What are
we really gonna get unless it got down to like
seven million dollars And I don't want to offer that
because I don't want to be like we disrespected him.
There's thirty one teams. It only takes one to you know,
maybe be open to doing something. If it doesn't get
to that, hey, we're gonna do the right thing. We're

(08:21):
gonna let you hit free agency, find out your market,
come back and let us know if we can match it.
If if we can, you know, we'll have those discussions.
I mean, in a perfect world, I'd still like to
have me back. I just until we can prove that
we can do have a decent offense without him. He's
making a lot of money and it's the forking like
we've got to figure out is to see the guy,

(08:42):
So we got to protect him. We need to put
resources there.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
I'm gonna jump in here, right Alex.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
Then they go on to say the owner goes, well,
first of all, owner is too timid. I need this
the one time I will see. I need a little
Jerry Jones and an owner. I need Henn say we'll
figure out whatever else we need to do, because we're not.
We're not doing that. You heard him say, He's I
don't think until we can figure out we have an
offense without him. You don't let the thing go that
you can't live without. That's like if it's your lady, man,
my world does not revolved without her. I ain't letting

(09:08):
her go. We gotta figure it out, marriage counseling, take
some time out, go do some zen. I'm not letting
you go. That should have been how they treated Takuan
and the thing he also said after that, Rob he goes.
You know what I would hate most If he leaves
and he goes to the Eagles, I'd be sick.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
And he should be sick. And he left and went
to the Eagles and is balling.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
And Giants fans should be sick. Who's running this mom
and pop store?

Speaker 3 (09:33):
For real? Like you just said it.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
The idea that they even had this conversation is still
most popular. Guys still made this decision trying to save
a few shekels instead of making sure the Giants sa
Kwan Barkley made Daniel Jones the.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
One year year, the one year one year.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
He had like fifteen touchdowns in seventeen games and they
won that playoff game against Minnesota. That's what I guess
sold them that.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
It was Daniel Jones.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
But it was the threat of Sakuon Barkley that opened
up with everything for Daniel Jones.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
And to have the owner say, and again we didn't
have to sound right there, but he says, he's our
best player. We until we figure out the offense without him,
and he's our most popular player.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Make it make sense.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
I'm not getting rid of our most popular our best
player in our offense can't go without him. That's the
guy not getting up. And so if you say to yourself,
all right, well, running back to istmember, you're charging right.
Let me tell you what Saquan is doing right now.
Sakuon Barkley this year already has eleven hundred yards Rod
Parker already that would be a good season, right, already

(10:46):
eight touchdowns, he's averaging five point eight basically six yards
of carry.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Sick. That's sick. And then you mentioned he.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
Has a couple of touchdowns through the air as well receiving,
So he's got ten touchdowns. Yeah, and at the end
of the season, you figure he's gonna probably be round
six seventeen hundred yards rushing, four five hundred yards receiving,
probably call it sixteen to twenty touchdowns sixteen right, what,
that's the guy we'll get who was an amazing shape,

(11:15):
who takes care of his body. We see his workouts
are renowned. Who is jumping over humans? Back backwards, right back?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Never you? Who's my favorite athlete of all time?

Speaker 5 (11:25):
Barry Sanders? Who did you cover for years? Barry Sanders?
Who do we all say has the greatest runs of
all time? Barry Sanders? And I ain't never seen Barry
do that.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
No, I've never seen any one of the NFL do that.
Daniel Jones, Daniel Jones and the Giants offense until I
haven't got the updated stat so I might be off.
But at one point, you remember they were averaging less
than seven points a game at home.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
They were averaging a backup point guard in the NBA.
It was like six point eight point seven point eight,
seven point eight, Okay, I don't want to short change. Yeah,
that's like Tyas Jones coming off the bench or something
and be Howard Eisley a backup point. I mean overthinking,
trying to be smart, trying to be clever. Sometimes the

(12:08):
obvious thing in life, people is right in front of
your eyes. Sometimes it's just sitting there and that's the answer.
You don't have to overthink it. Try to be cute,
try to make something else happen. Your best player your
best offensive player, the injine that makes you go your
most popular player. You don't let that go. I told
you before. We have a saying in the press box
amongst rider. Just write it, don't overthink it, don't be cute.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
You just said it, like some things are so obvious.
Stop trying to reinvent the wheel, build a better mouse trap.
Try to talk yourself out of the best player for
a guy who is a marginal quarterback part best. He
was marginal at best. And that's what you did. And
now look where the giants are. I'm telling you, if

(12:56):
I'm the owner today, after watching Saquan again, I gotta
say I gotta get rid of both of these guys
because unless I find out that Brian day Ball screamed
to the high heavens not to do this and it
wasn't his fun right and he really had no say
and the general manager over you know, you know, uh,

(13:18):
put his authority over the coach, unless it's that. But
if Brian day Ball was a part of this decision making,
I don't want him there either, because there's no way
you really could have thought that Sakwan Barkley wasn't the
guy and it was Daniel Jones all right, eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine,

(13:38):
six sixty three sixty nine. It is the odd couple
on a funky Flashback Friday. And maybe you disagree with
Kelvin and I. Maybe you think that Daniel Jones was
a smart thing.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
And and but you just didn't want to sign a
running back, which is crazy that specific running.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Ba right, and and and if you agree with us,
do you agree that these guys should be broom down.
You should start over in the front office because you
got guys making bet This is a malpractice of general managing, malpractice.
This is not an honest mistake. Oh it's fifty to fifty. No,
this was this was ninety nine to one.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Too obvious.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Sitting you right there in the face eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
Hit us up.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
We want to hear from you.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
All right, Alex, it is the odd couple. What's up
on Fox Sports Radio? You know what you need to do?

in honor of what Alex is playing right now, we
might have to have a Michael Jackson. One's gotta go
like a Michael Jackson four or five. All I might
have to have one.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
One't all I'm gonna say is Patrick, you keep making
those moves, those dance moves right there, and there's a
woman by you.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
You might be Rob g next and be a daddy.
All right. I ain't gonna lie. Patrick was kind of
hitting the moves a little bit. I thought we were
gonna bring up his mom's cookies. That's what I thought.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
We'll talking about that later. You know, I got a
special order request coming up. I'm gonna fight save it
for Christmas.

Speaker 8 (15:45):
All right?

Speaker 3 (15:46):
We go Eric in Austin, Texas. You're on the couple
of radio.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
What up?

Speaker 6 (15:51):
What Kevin? How y'all doing?

Speaker 5 (15:53):
Man?

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Good Friday?

Speaker 6 (15:55):
I'm good. Yeah, Happy Friday. Real quick shout out to
alex in An. Let it rest of the Quinty Jones
the best of DUCA ever playing though that thought about.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
That, Yes, that we just lost him?

Speaker 2 (16:07):
What one?

Speaker 3 (16:08):
I take eighty three million dollars each? He did?

Speaker 6 (16:12):
Alright, greatest producer ever. But I kind of have a
unique perspective on the whole Giant thing because I'm Eagles
fans for first and foremost the Giants sincerely. But here's
the thing, and Kevin is something. You watched the Hard
Knots with the Giants, right watch it?

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (16:27):
Okay, So so from my perspective, right, here's my thing
with Brian Davall because I don't I don't think he's
a bad coach because remember he sticks Josh Allen. Right,
So I don't think he's a bad coach.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Well, well he hasn't fixed uh Daniel Jones, Well.

Speaker 6 (16:42):
Dann Jones isn't good. It isn't a good player though, Right,
here's my thing. He inherited Daniel Jones and Kelvin You
backed me up on this on the show. It was
evident that Brian dave Ball won it. Jaydon Daniel so bad.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Oh yeah, that was facts, big facts.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Yeah, but they weren't but they weren't. Yeah, but they
weren't getting him. And my point is you did still.

Speaker 6 (17:01):
But Brian dave Ball was like he was saying, he
was telling Jo saying, like we need to trade up
for this dude.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
Yeah, he was making a concerted effort to be like, hey,
I'm telling y'all my two cents.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
Brian clearly wanted He clearly wanted to get a quarterback
this drive and Joe saying, and the powers that beat
just didn't let that happen. I don't think Brian Dable
was the back coach. I'm saying that. I don't think
he was a back couch. I don't think he inherited
a horrible quarterback and the incompetent GM.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Well, I think the GM is incompetent.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
And but that goes to your point. Thank you for
the call.

Speaker 5 (17:28):
That goes to the point you're saying, like Dave Ball
might might be the saving graces if he can say, hey,
I told you so, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Sometimes the only I say, that's the only way. But
my thing is they still signed. And that's what I'm saying,
Like Daniel Jones, like like they made they had to
make a conscious decision. You got this or you got that.
That's what That's what I'm trying to say. It's not
like Daniel Jones was here and the Alreadio was under
contract and they really couldn't do anything. No, they made

(17:56):
a conscious decision.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
Year old, amazing shape, having a really good career. You
haven't had a couple of little knickknack injuries whatever injured
or some bit uh just nick knacks. He did have
some injuries. But my point is you see the talent,
you see the workout that, you see the productivity.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
It's it's ridiculous. Whitley from Philly, You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Whitley? Hello? How are
you doing what we're doing?

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Well? How about yourself?

Speaker 9 (18:22):
I'm good thinking break it down.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
For us, break it on down.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Oh.

Speaker 9 (18:29):
All I just want to say is that the Giants
do not value say clon balk lee and there'll be
extra man and sold when we go to the playoffs
and when the Super Bowl would say clon balkleek. Women's treasures,
I mean women's trash the next men's treasure, big.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Facts and that.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
And that's part of it is that you can't tell
me that this Eagles team would be as good as
it is without say Kwan.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
He's an engine.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
I mean, listen, he kept them afloat rob when they
were struggling this season. There were some games that had
it not been for him, they wouldn't have won. He
he because he's not just being a productive running back
and like oh he's getting us to the heavy yards.
He's breaking play. I mean, he's him last night, thirty hours,
thirty five yards. He's breaking plays. Haven't been Actually early
on too, he had some really big plays out the

(19:13):
backfield catching I just I still.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Even when this thing first happened, I still was dumbfounded,
and I am every game every time I see him,
I just cannot believe. Seriously, like this, these are these
guys jobs, Like you're in here, you're making decisions for
this franchise, and you're averaging seven point eight points at home.
Daniel Jones, I don't know, like the last time. I

(19:39):
don't think they played at home, Right, they played in
Europe or something, right their last game or something, they
played somewhere else. But I'm saying like he hadn't thrown
a touchdown in weeks since last year. That sounds crazy,
like nobody believes it. But since last year a home touchdown.
I mean, it is mind boggling on how bad the
New York Football Giants are.

Speaker 5 (20:00):
They just look bad as as a team, that an organization,
as an organization, and think about it. I mean, if
somehow they were to keep Saquan and they got neighbors,
the receiver who looks good like he's going to be
a quality player, Uh, you would have had something going there,
you know what I mean. He got neighbors, you got
sa Quon, you got some things going. But now, man,
it just they don't have. It's just easy. Hey, you
know exactly all the defense that the scoutings report is out.

(20:21):
We know what he can't do, and he ain't that
good to begin with in Daniel Jones, and now I
got tape on him.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
In the last years, you know, the year year and
a half.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
It's a rep all right, coming up, Kelvin is coming
to my side on this fight, Like, wow, I'm gonna
talk about that coming up?

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Yeah, what's trending? Steve Seger?

Speaker 10 (20:44):
By the way, they're promoters for the fight at Arlington,
Texas tonight saying they're expecting over seventy thousand fans in
attendance and that the gate is approaching eighteen million, which
means it would be more than anyone's ever got for
a boxing gate outside of law Las Vegas in US history.
Of course, we must say that we're calling this a

(21:04):
boxing match, but it's two minute rounds.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
The problem is they got his sanction, Steve, So now
I think they'll be able to act like it.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Was a real thing.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
See how much our peaks.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
This thing could be round or twelve ye this and
this thing could be over in five minutes, right on,
two minutes? Right it could be? How did all these
people have nothing to do? Seventy thousand is sick a
ticket free? Are they paying people fifty dollars to come in?
Who's buying a ticket on the other side. Unless Yeah,
I'm unless Steve do his thinking. We're gonna talk about

(21:37):
this in a second.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Is boxing ever paper in the house? And has that
ever happened in boxing?

Speaker 4 (21:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (21:43):
You don't feel this thing up one way.

Speaker 10 (21:44):
You already know as by the way you brought up
yesterday's show. It's fourteen ounce gloves as well be smarring
and that's.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
What I keep one's did they sanction this well, I
literally I'll tell you about that.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
It's not bad. Nope, somebody in Texas.

Speaker 5 (21:59):
Obviously SIS sanctioned. Did because Mike Tyson wanted it. It's
a whole thing. We'll talk about it, and we tell
you know.

Speaker 10 (22:04):
Mike Tyson still an enormous name, but he hasn't boxed
in almost twenty years. And even when he was boxing,
he went five and five with two no contests.

Speaker 5 (22:12):
At Tidy and he literally said, I don't have the
heart of this. Burbatim. I said, I don't have the
heart of this anymore. I don't want to disrespect the sport.
So you know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna fight
Jake Paul.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
That's right.

Speaker 10 (22:21):
He was getting knocked out by Danny Williams, but that's okay,
go for it tonight.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
We got twelve and twelve.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
NBA games tonight.

Speaker 10 (22:27):
It's a Friday, so it's busy as usual. And late
first quarter, or Orlando at home is in the lead
against Philly twenty two to fifteen. Paul George has started
zero of five shooting from the floor. Joel Embiide is
playing as eight points in the first quarter. Also from
the NBA. The Cavs at thirteen and oh are about
to start up at home against Chicago, but Evan Mobley
of the Cavaliers is out due to illness. Denver's won

(22:50):
five straight. They're playing at New Orleans in a half
an hour. Nicola Jokic out for personal reasons. Jokich averaging
thirty points, fourteen rebounds, and twelve assists so far this year.
Milwaukee's Damian Lillard is out again tomorrow with a concussion.
There's college football on Fox TV tonight nine pm Eastern Time.
Ucla at Washington. Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid is out

(23:12):
this weekend with a knee injury. Chiefs kicker Harrison Bucker
had his left knee surgery. He'll miss at least four weeks.
Chiefs running back Isaiah Pacheco is still out this weekend
with his ankle injury. Sunday, Chiefs and Bills Back to you.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
He is Steven Sager.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
Thank you so much, coming to you live from the
Tireck dot Com studios.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Rob Parker kelvin Washington.

Speaker 5 (23:31):
We are the couple on a funky flashback Friday, and
I was time to have that conversation. Rob, just continue
when we were talking about, Man, it's gonna be on Netflix,
which is weird in the sense of like, I don't
know how that's gonna work. If they worked out some
deal of Netflix themselves. Hey, Jake Paul's promotion company, I
think his most valuable promotions is what it's called his

(23:51):
promotional company. You know, if they just paid him, here's
eighty million. Because I was at work today and exactly
what we were questioned, I think someone said they did
they specifically got Netflix to watch this fight this is
this is and I'm like, wow, that's what That's the
whole idea.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Of it is, like to get people who there were
a lot of people who don't have Netflix, and do
you try to create something and then people put it
on their credit card? And automatically, yeah, I'll just do
it for this one month and you look up and
eight months went by.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
Wait what exactly? You know why you're true on that.
I've been going to the gym for the decade. The
most people who pay for the gym are the ones
who don't.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
They just let it run that twenty nine.

Speaker 5 (24:33):
Oh yeah, la finn has got me four minute, La
Finn has got me for minute. I can't even lie
you were paying it. Yeah, it was just going and
uh so we've all been there. But so to what
we were saying with Steve, so, Texas sanctioned this and
according to you know, what was happening was Jake Paul
and his crew. They didn't want they just wanted it
to be an exhibition. But for whatever reasons, Mike Tyson

(24:56):
actually wanted this to be a real sanctioned fight. So
they were like, Okay, how we gotta get find somebody
that sanction this interer Texas. Maybe everything's bigger in Texas,
including the gloves. So the gloves are fourteen ounces instead
of eight, so that are ten, I should say, in
set of ten, which well you know that's how you
get closer to the knuckle. Knock somebody out fourteen ounces.
That's a bunch of padding. Instead of three minute rounds

(25:18):
to two minute rounds, instead of going ten to twelve rounds,
are only gonna go eight rounds. Uh So the question becomes, now,
why did Mike Tyson want this? Is? Like, is that
his way of saying, I can only lock in mentally
if it's real, you know, like if you convince me
that it's real, and then don't forget Mike Tyson. The
reason why this was delayed some more months is because

(25:40):
he had stomach ulcers. He lost twenty six pounds because
he had stomach ulcers almost three inches wide and they
were bleeding, and he was not to get all grossy
starlo okay, he was the I forgot, you're off squeamish
and stuff, right, Well, cover your ears, right, I can't
even Robbie Pooh, cover your ears.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
I can't even I can't even open up a capture
packet without faining.

Speaker 5 (26:01):
Well, then yes, you don't want to know about his ulca.
He was throwing up blood. So listen, My hope is
that Mike Tyson has one flashback to like ninety four,
you know what I mean? Nine nineteen eighty nine with
the I hope he comes out with the towel over
his head and he just has one flashback, because all

(26:22):
it takes is one. Now it's gonna knock him out
like he did other people back in the day. No,
not with those gloves. But Jake Paul chen ain't been
checked a whole lot, and I'm hoping that he'll have
a good shot and then he'll be like, all right,
Mike showed this YouTuber. Hey man, hey, hey, don't mess
with the pros every now and again. We will still
knock you out. But I worry that's not going to
be the case. From worry, he's gonna look all the

(26:42):
fifty eight and that Jake Paul, whatever you want to
say about him, Jake Paul has been in the gym
for four years training, is in great shape, the prime
of his life, twenty seven years old, and I am
a little worried that, you know, he's just gonna make
Mike look like an idiot out there.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
I'm thinking, and here's why I keep saying, I hope
Tyson gets knocked out. I want this to stop. And
the only way it can stop is if it's really
bad and people see like this was a bad idea.
Mike Tyson shouldn't have been in the ring at fifty
eight years old. Uh, he was bad twenty years ago.

(27:18):
And why in the world do people think he's gonna
knock somebody out? And if he gets knocked out, I
mean knocked out of a ring or knocked out like
uh no, no, no, Nate Robinson, you know, like of
that ilk where you get knocked out, people will be like,
I can't believe. And then Mike Tyson, who claims he
doesn't care about his legacy and he'll be dead anyway.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
But it's just ego. With ego, nobody we all die.
We turned that back to death. Yeah, we turned back
to death. It doesn't matter. It's just ego. I don't
care about it.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
By the legathy, it goes, oh yeah, but my kids
and grand kids get through that.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
That that that's the reason you have a legacy. Otherwise
we'd all be just here, reckless and not caro live.
But here's where you're wrong. Rob You're right for what
you want, your desire is right.

Speaker 5 (28:05):
But where you're wrong is that someone's gonna go Wow,
Mike Tyson really got hurt, man, He got knocked out.
You know some xboxer that we all revere. Ah, man,
that's just tough. You know what, maybe I should put it. Hello,
twenty million you in and they're in?

Speaker 1 (28:21):
No, No, not everybody's not going to be in. I'm
telling you, because.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
What do you tell me?

Speaker 5 (28:27):
What do we sit here off the air and I'm
bringing it on air and talk about all the time
we see ninety eight year old dudes still doing stuff
and we say what are they doing?

Speaker 1 (28:36):
But not everyone? And I agree with you. There are
people who no matter what, for the almighty dollar. But
when they take a look and you look at what
happens to Mike Tyson tonight, and you say, is it
really worth it? Like, is it really worth it? And
the answer is no, It's okay. You don't have to
get every dime that's offered to you. You don't have

(28:58):
to take every job.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
You don't.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
You know, we've seen some actors do some bad movies
at the end, right, like bad bad movies.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
Halle Berry beautiful, great career, but Halle what are you doing?
We've been in a big movie in a minute.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
Right, But but bad movies, you know what I mean?
And you go, I remember when Eddie Murphy was the
biggest thing going okay, and he had a really bad
run John Travault the box office Poison movie.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
That is what I'm trying to say. Uh So there
is a rhyme or reason. I just don't think everybody
needs to cash out just because somebody offers you money.
And the same thing if this was two veteran and
older boxers and you know, like old timers him Jones,
but you're talking about thirty somebody who's thirty seven, thirty

(29:46):
years younger than you, and you're gonna get, and you're
gonna get who's been knocking people out his own age,
and now you're gonna fight you and you're supposed to
do what everybody thinks. It's gonna get that one punch
and Iron Mike, and this is a ty against Bruno.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
No, no, no, he ain't.

Speaker 5 (30:03):
Iron make He might be a wire hanger at best,
he might be a wife. And hopefully he don't get
folded up Patrick. That's what I'm hoping for it this
wire hanger, don't get folded up.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Come on, Rob Patrick, you get Patrick's a young guy.
You never saw Mike Tyson fight, right.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
No, I didn't.

Speaker 8 (30:19):
I've seen more in like acting in movies like Broke
My Heart.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
But let me ask you this.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
Mike Tyson at his peak, entering the ring, usually coming
into some gangs to something. Might be some Tupac who
obviously went in the ring with him in Vegas once
the night that Tupac died towel around him. You know,
he's got the eyebrow that kind of does the little
point thing at the end, like just looking medacine.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Was there anything bigger than that?

Speaker 1 (30:51):
Dude?

Speaker 5 (30:51):
I mean, I can't. Actually I wasn't around for Ali,
you know, your boy. I'm a little old, but I
ain't that old. Like that was just a thing to
behold for, like a good seven eight year run obviously
interrupted by prison.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
But I digress. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
I'm during this day. It was unbelievable to watch that.

Speaker 5 (31:06):
And is there anything we can relate to Patrick now,
like you know what I mean current day? Like you
don't understand that was a moment like when Mike Tyson
was a fight. I can't even think of the thing
for you, Patrick. I feel bad gods were afraid.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Ring with them.

Speaker 8 (31:21):
I don't know if I want to say what year
I was born. If if you don't tell me that
it was before two thousands, before about if it started
with the two.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
I was just no, no, it's not you feel what
I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
I can't think of anything that's like this that equates
to like a Tyson fight that was like, okay, last thing, Okay,
how long does this go?

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Asked A great question? This goes?

Speaker 1 (31:42):
One of them is losing by round five. I'm gonna
say two rounds, knock out, two rounds, Jake Paul. I
mean no, no, you said it right, Jack Paul? What
you got?

Speaker 3 (31:54):
You know what?

Speaker 8 (31:55):
I'm just because I like Mike Moore. I'm gonna say
Tyson knock some mountain three? Okay, Alex, how many rounds?
Eight rounds?

Speaker 4 (32:04):
Yeah, they'll get to seven and Mike Tyson will just
pass out.

Speaker 5 (32:07):
Okay, that's actually not crazy. Steve de Seger, where are
you on or Steve?

Speaker 10 (32:13):
Yeah, I have no idea. I can't imagine Tyson winning,
So I'll just say seven or eight rounds?

Speaker 3 (32:21):
Why not eight? Go the distance? It's too rounds, right,
So that's why I said five and gloves.

Speaker 10 (32:26):
I mean, who's getting an early knockout?

Speaker 7 (32:28):
One?

Speaker 3 (32:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (32:30):
One of them is gonna get not like hurt, hurt,
but like I just can't go on?

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Is what it is? How it's going to end.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
If Mike Tyson is fifty eight, he looks amazing. That
slap was quick. That slap was quick right there. I
mean he slapped him really Quick's right?

Speaker 10 (32:45):
So if he can just get Jake Paul to like
walk up next to do, he's got him.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
If he just takes the gloves, That's what happened. Slap
for the outfit he had on.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
What he thought he was I think he thought it
was eighty seventy. What shorts did he have underwears of panties?
Mike Tyson? I did not need to see fi J
Mike Tyson and panties all right? Shekel City on the way.
It is Rob Parker, Kevin Washington, the couple Fox Sports

Speaker 3 (33:10):

Correct, yes, actually, Donna Summers, Suzanne Fall, Harold Douglas, Midnight Love.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Of I knew this is the seventies. Fox Sports.

we up.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
I've been doing my thing. I do two and one
last night. You ready, Alex? Why ready? Calvin?

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Got you ready? Patrick?

Speaker 1 (34:59):
I am up to sixty sixty three and two, so
you know how far.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Down brother fifteen under five hundred or something like that.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
And now if I get a hat trick tonight and
get all three right, I'm at even again at sixty
three and sixty three.

Speaker 11 (35:17):
So it's been a lower got today fight all right?
Best bet I got Jake Paul like I snuck that
in there, Jake Paul. I got that as my best bet.
Then I also have the Pistons minus one and a
half at the Raptors.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Okay, I like that one.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
And I have the seventy six ers plus two and
a half in Orlando taking on the Magic. So again,
seventy six ers plus two and a half at the Magic,
Pistons minus one and a half taken on the terrible
Toronto Raptors, and Jake Paul minus one ninety. I say
he dispatches Mike Tyson and rounds with a knockout. That's

(36:01):
what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (36:02):
And again, thank you so much for sharing that.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yes, thank you, And remember Kelvin, what's that Rob. I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on. All Right, there you have it.
We'll see if he can. Finally, it's be great on
Monday we come in. If you tie you five hundred,
that'd be great to see. We'll have to wait and
see how that goes. Man, Just back to this fight
a little bit. Man.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
I just.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
I hate that I'm forced to do things that I
don't like. I'm I have to watch this. We're gonna
be sitting here. It starts at five on the west coast,
eight on the east, and it's alex Is gonna call
us in there?

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Is it literally starts it? Well, no, pre limbs, there's
no way to starting it there.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
You know.

Speaker 5 (36:41):
It starts at five o'clock. No, I mean, I think
they're gonna have something. You're probably gonna have some rap performers,
somebody come out sing a song or two. Maybe one
fight before I think, no, no, no, no. There are a
couple of yes, there's a fight. Because I was reading
an article. One yeah, one of the promoters of the
other guy, he's a big time like he really takes
fighting seriously, and he said he's actually gonna walk out.
He's the only reason I'm doing this because guys fighting beforehand.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Because nobody, First of all, if you have just the
one fight, eight rounds two minutes around, you don't have
enough time to sell enough beer and hot dogs.

Speaker 5 (37:11):
Okay, so we gotta get these beer. Get seven thousand people.
You canna get these beer and hot dogs? Going yeah,
beer hot dog. Money's big, you know what I mean.
So they cost them eight cent a hot dog and
sell for five bucks, six five bucks.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
But you're right, you're right, my bad. I had a
ten year flashback.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
And you know what I mean. So they want to
let's get these guys being a couple of fights before them,
all worked up before the main event. Some nobody it's
a Friday night. Nobody wants to just come out for
thirty minutes, you know what I mean? Like that's not
night there is. There is, for sure a couple of
fights before it. You're gonna have a rap im.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
Somebody's performing, but you know some you put a little
or young before somebody young trouble, little flat top. Somebody
were performing or wrapping.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
I'm far away away from if this thing is successful,
over right, are people trying to get like people who
have beefs together, you know, to fight.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
Like, how much would what I'm just gonna throw out.
I'm just gonna throw.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
It out stephen A and Skip do a charity boxing event?

Speaker 5 (38:13):
Would that sell? Would people pay to see that? Things
like that I used to happen back in the day.
Oh yeah, yeah, that would. I think people will be
more excited to see that than this.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
How about like Kevin Durant and stephen that stephen A,
I'm not using I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
That's it. I'm not gonna do him anymore.

Speaker 5 (38:33):
But the best part about it serious that can I
do Steven? You know how serious he was trying to get?
Like the best part about when he's mad at somebody
is when like, instead of being like, you know, I
didn't really look Kevin Durram just saying what I heard,
what I reported.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (38:46):
No, it's when he put the camera on me, right,
That's my favorite part. Put the can No, I'm serious,
put it on me. You will never know what I
know because I know that you know that we know
we can go blow for blow. I'm like, stephen A, relax,
just tell us that you got the inside info and

(39:07):
on when he goes full put the camera on me,
isolate the camera on me, so I can go off
and tell that's what I'm like. All right, that's what
I'm actually like, Steve. And they put these gloves on.
Put these fourteen hours gloves on, and go ahead and
get in his ring.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
You will never scared.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
I fought at the Palace. I told you that, didn't
you fight Terry Foster. Terry Foster was a commerce for
the Detroit Palaves. No no, no.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
Pastew sharp want to make my brothers.

Speaker 1 (39:33):
And I was working at the Free Press. So we
had a We boxed with the oversize size level, oversized gloves,
the huge yeah, the huge ones. All right, But but
it was at the Palace because so many people were there,
sixteen thousand people, because it was a real boxing card.
So I fought in at the Palace in the ring.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
With you did you have your chest out? No? No,
I have a T shirt.

Speaker 5 (39:57):
Come on about to say you got to relax right
And you know what, by the way, because you know
I didn't joke, you know what.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
I lost the fight, my decision and I lead the
next day in the paper. Was it took ten months,
but I finally got robbed in Detroit.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
I'm here to

Speaker 1 (40:16):
