Speaker 2 (00:12):
Welcome in our number three of the Couple, Rob Parker
Martin Weiss in for Kelvin Washington on a funky flashback Friday,
a Black Friday. Indeed, the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I'm sure
most people are off hanging out, good long weekend. I
(00:34):
always enjoy kind of kicking back, even though I did
work the last two days.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
It's cool.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I like Thanksgiving. I do kind of reset a little
bit the weekend. No big plans after the Thanksgiving Holiday?
What about you anything this weekend.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
I've been working every weekend for the last three years,
and I've worked on Thanksgiving every year.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Since I've graduated from college. So this is very much
Thursday or Friday now.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Yes, well, i always work Thanksgiving, obviously in Detroit, covering
the Lions on Thanksgiving, so it's I kind of feel
the same way. And I've always worked, you know, unless
I had some other plans or something. But normally I
do work the Thanksgiving Day holiday and Christmas and that stuff.
I usually like to take my time off during the summer,
(01:19):
so this time of the year, unless I have a
family obligation or something to go to, I just hear
I'm going to wind up being on a couch anyway
watching football for the most part.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
All right, don't forget.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Coming up in about twenty seven minutes, lamar Mitchell bet MGM,
Director of Trading, we'll talk about some of the games
coming up this Sunday in the NFL. Also, last Call
time will come up as well. If you weren't able
to get in earlier in the program on something that
you liked or something that moved you, you will be
(01:51):
able to get in on the last call. And then
Martin and I will do a couple of talk about
a couple of football games that we'd like to see
this weekend, ran Patrick and Martin and we will also
reveal the pig skin pickoff that Kelvin and I did
on Wednesday, because we knew obviously, uh, there were the
games that we needed to talk about that one on yesterday.
(02:14):
But one thing that was very interesting to me was
Jimmy Johnson, did you see the obviously you work on
the herd, Yeah, I was there, Yes, what did you
what what and so for people don't know. Jimmy Johnson
was pretty strong that basically he would not have paid
Dak Prescott that that back Dak Prescott.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
I think the best His thing was that it didn't
make sense to pay Dak Prescott like he was the
top quarterback in the NFL at the start of last season.
You could have waited until the end of this season,
in which either his play would have justified him being
like the top quarterback in the NFL, or like what
ended up happening, his injury would have ended up getting
(02:55):
you a discount. That was his main point, but it's
I mean, it's one that I think is read. The
main thing is if you're paying the top guys in
the NFL. If you're paying guys like they're the top
guys in the NFL and they are not the top
guy in the NFL, that's bad business.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Well, but that's that's the NFL pays position rather than
the actual player. And and that's where I agree with
Jimmy that just because you're the next quarterback up doesn't
mean that you should get the highest salary. And and
we had seen a couple of teams buck the odds.
There were a couple guys who didn't get the highest
quarterback contract even though they were next up. They still
(03:32):
got paid, but they weren't the highest, so it wasn't like, uh,
you know, you definitely were the next highest. They still
got a lot of money. Everybody was in the neighborhood. Yea,
but yeah, but they weren't. But they still weren't the
high and I get it, they were still it was
like a quarterback salary.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
Two is not making fifty five million dollars year, but
he is making fifty three millions, right, right, But he
didn't get like.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
It wasn't like, for sure TWOA got two dollars more
and the next guy I got ten dollars more.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
It didn't go that route. But they were all in
the neighborhood. Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
And then we do now have this sound from Jimmy
John This was on the herd tic to listen.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Well, first of all, they're so financially strapped, you know,
with some of these contracts. First of all, I would
have never given Prescott a new contract.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I'd let him play it out, yeah, you.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
Know, because he would. You know, he's got the highest
paid player in the league. He's not the best player
in the league, and he wasn't going to go anywhere.
If he had gone to the super Bowl with him, hey,
he wasn't going to go anywhere. Pay him whatever, you know,
and if he, you know, struggled in the playoffs, then
you negotiate, or if he got hurt, you saved money.
But they're so financially strapped right now.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
I don't know. I don't know what they do.
Speaker 5 (04:44):
I don't know if you know, they talk about, you know,
change coaching, well, I don't know if changing coaching is
going to, you know, help them, because Mike McCarthy's a
good football coach and so I don't know that a
new coach coming in can solve the problem.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Where are you on DAKO?
Speaker 2 (05:00):
I never Chris and I used to argue about this
all the time early on, and then Chris changed his
mind on DAK. I just never thought he was you know,
this christest thing in the beginning, and I just bring
it up because it was a wedge between us early
on that he was in route to being an elite quarterback,
and I just never saw him as elite.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
I saw him as very good.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
I thought he was even better when he had Ezekiel
Elliott in the backfield, and when they just basically let
him go out there. The postseason numbers are bad. It's
just a lot of stuff that I just don't see
him beating as many good teams as I think with
that talent they should have.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I qualify quarterbacks in three categories.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
The ones you win because of, ones you win you know,
ones that can you can win with, and ones that
when you win it's in spite of To me, Dak
Prescott falls right in the middle.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
He is a very good quarterback that.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Is not nest is not in the same class as
the quarterbacks that just flat lee can win you games.
That's Patrick Mahomes, That's Josh Allen, that's Lamar Jackson, And
really that's really to me, I don't even want to
hear a fourth in terms of the quarterbacks that I think,
at any moment in time can put the cape on
and go do it.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
These Borrows not there. I wouldn't put him there right now.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Two years ago, sure, two years ago, sure, but this
right here, right now, and it's not all his fault.
That defense is really bad. I just look at him
when I'm watching the games, Like.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
When I watched play he had nine touchdowns against Baltimore
and didn't win one game. And I just and I
know when the first one he threw a bad pick
after they they what they do, They missed a kick
or they muffed it.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
You remember that.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
And at the first game, but he had five touchdowns,
they didn't win, and then he had four more against Baltimore.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
I did win.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
When Tomlin said the same thing when he was doing
his press conference preparing for this weekend's game, He's like,
I watched the first WEE games with Baltimore, and I'm
surprised he's not the league MVP, right, And it's not.
There's a case to be made for Burrow being the
most valuable player, right, but I'm still not putting him
in that category right here, right now because of the
way the results are shaken out. But Dak Prescott, to me,
(07:06):
is a guy who in the right situation, you can
go ahead. You can win a ton of games with him,
and if the team around him is great, then you
have an opportunity to win games against really good teams like.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
That, I mean twelve and twelve wins a year for
the last three years.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
That's something that the rest of the NFL is looking
up is looking up at that's something you Thirty six
regular season wins is impressive. It's just the rest of
the team and the team around him has to be
He is not so great that he's able to erase
everybody else's problems.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
You can't fix a bad defense. When Aaron Jones.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Rushes for like seventy five yards in the first half
against Dallas in the first round of that playoff game,
he's not good enough to overcome that.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yeah, but he also in that he also had a
couple of picks, a pick six. He was bad two
in that in that game if you looked at it
and set up Green Bay. And he's had those kind
of moments when they lost to the forty nine ers.
You remember you had a Clonku stinker in that game.
He didn't they offensively, They couldn't do anything. There's just
too many of those moments there that I'm not surprised
(08:07):
that were you surprised that Jimmy Johnson basically flied out.
I mean he I think he won two championship with
the Cowboys, and in his heart he's got to be up.
I still have even though him and Jerry they finally
made up sure, but he still has to have the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
In his heart.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
He won two Super Bowls, and all due respect to Jimmy,
but I think it's a lot easier to sit here
now with Dak Prescott's hamstring sitting off of the bone,
saying I wouldn't have paid him.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
It's a lot easier to say that now. Now here's
the thing. He still has to go to Dallas or
you know what, I mean to see these guys.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
But here's the thing, though, paying Dak Prescott to me
is almost secondary to the timing in which Jerry did it.
If Jerry had paid Dak Prescott, a homegrown fourth round
talent that they found and drafted, a guy that argument
a million built up through the program, right if you
had paid him as soon.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
As he was eligible, he could have got him for
twenty eight million, eight million dollars.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
I don't know where that I remember being.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
A great spot right now, because you'd have a league
an above average quarterback, and you have a Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
He waited, and then the worst part was he got injured,
like he shouldn't have been out there playing. He got
he's out there, got pay and then and then they
wind up paying him even more like. That was the
other part that was just crazy.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
But Dallas could have set this up the way that
Tampa had set this up instead of draft like they
obviously got Baker Mayfield off of the proverbial scrap heap,
and Baker then locked him up for thirty million dollars
a year. You could have had Dak Prescott fourth round pick,
locked up for thirty million dollars a year, and you
would just now be talking about are they going to
extend him next year?
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Dak would have taken it at that point on that time, right,
Oh yeah, you would. But they kicked the can down
the road, and they kept waiting and it didn't make
any sense. And even they waited till the last minute
right before kickoff to even get this contract done, like
all this time, and and Jerry has done a poor job,
and and and Jimmy Johnson even talked about they're in
(10:00):
a financial situation and now that's why they I don't
think they could keep Michael Michael Parsons.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Can they It's.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Hard financially and they need stuff to fill so many holes.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
I think what they're gonna have to do is they
need to They definitely need to acquire draft picks. And
the one thing that the Cowboys saving grace is they
have drafted pretty well.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
They've been able to find rookies that can come in
and the impack.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Now the problem is when they get to those second contracts,
then they overpay the guys as they drafted who are
who then played.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Will McClay, who used to be with the Lions, is
one of in their front office.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
He's really good too.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
They have a good front office draft, they really do.
Will McClay is one of the guys. You never hear
his name, but but you and.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
You partly know they have a good front office in
terms of drafting and scouty because they don't sign Bupkisson
free agency and they're still able to win thirty six
games in the last three years.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Probably Obviously this past year was the glaring where everybody
said they didn't do anything. They brought back Ezekiel Elliott
from the seventy five percent off rack, I mean, which
was everybody knew that was bad.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
Yeah, it was. There was no level and I mean
even Zeke did.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
I mean, you got a guy in Zeke who's been
in the NFL for I mean, hell, I was in
two years out of college when Zeke was running through
Michigan in that last game in his Ohio State career.
So Zeke's been in the NFL for ten years, eight
ten years, He's like, this is not what it's supposed
to be. So I think ultimately, when it comes down
to it, this team, for whatever reason, I mean, it's
(11:29):
not even for whatever reason. They're a mom and pop organization,
and that's part of the reason why they don't necessarily
operate in the same structure that most of the other
NFL organizations.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
And that's why it happened.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Everybody else can get fired, right right, everybody else could
get fired.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Jerry wouldn't be the general manager.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
There was a real owner ahead of you know, with
the moves that him and Steven and the rest of
his family make.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
If there was another team, if there was another team, like,
for example, if the Jacksonville Jaguars right now, because Trevor
Lawrence got hurt, imagine he was off for the year.
He'll start Sunday, but imagine there were times he thought
he was gonna be out for the year. Highest paid
quarterback at the time, one of the top three highest
paid quarterbacks. They traded a fourth round pick for Trey Lance,
who's not even the backup quarterback right now? Like, did
(12:13):
we make fun of the Giants because they signed Drew
Locke five million dollars to be the backup but he
was their third stringer right right?
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Like that's bad management, that's bad man.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
If that fourth round pick, you know, that fourth round
pick could have been it could have been your running back.
You know, it could have been your your backup guard
who steps in when Zach Martin gets hurt and they
don't look at that same opportunity.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Cfton Dallas all.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. It's just
a Dak Prescott conversation, and Jimmy Johnson said he wouldn't
do it.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Where are you on Dek? We know he's heard, we
know he's not playing.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
But what do you do if you're the Cowboys? Can
can you cut bait? Can you can you move them?
Are you stuck with them? What would you do if
you're the Cowboys and can Dak bounce back? Do you
have confidence that ultimately he can get it done? Can
you win a Super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (13:09):
With him? Can't you?
Speaker 2 (13:11):
What is he What does he factor in? I think
he's in a twilight zone kind of place right now.
What exactly is Dak Prescott? And if it was your team,
would you want him? It is the odd Couple on
a funky Flashback Friday, Rob Parker Martin Weiss right here
on Fox Sports Radio.

It is the odd Couple on a funky Flashback Friday,
Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Here on the Odd
Couple Fox Sports Radio, Rob Parker, Martin Weiss in for
Kelvin Washington. He'll be back on Monday. The whole crew
will be back in full effect. Don't forget coming up
(14:10):
in eight minutes, Lamar Mitchell bet MGM, director of Trading,
will ask him some stuff about the games coming up
on Sunday in the NFL. Will do that. Plus last call,
a lot of stuff still to do. We're talking about
Dak Prescott. Jimmy Johnson going full Nelson, saying that he
would have would not have paid dak As kind of
(14:32):
late now because he's highs paid player in the league
and obviously he's hurt and not playing. But Martin, I
also was thinking to myself, you know, like for me
in baseball, certain guys you know, who are starting pitchers,
if they're pitching, I'm interested in watching pitch or something.
Quarterbacks I do, like, there's some quarterbacks I like to
(14:53):
see them. Actually, you know, play, Do you have a
favorite right now currently in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
I think when he's on and you know, the play
breaks down and you there are a few people make
me go wow, like Kyler Murray does. When Kyler is
because he's so small but so fast. He just looks like,
you know, there's so so many jokes about his People
say he looks like a badass little kid running away.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
From his parents.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
A lot of people had him dead and buried a
couple of years ago.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Yeah, I wasn't there, I thought, I mean, and he's
one of the hot I mean, obviously doesn't matter in
the NFL, but one of the best high school football
players ever in Texas, one of the best college players
we ever saw.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Don't forget the only player to be dropped in the
first round of Major League Baseball and football.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
I mean, like that's him about an athlete is an.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Incredible athlete, an incredible athlete, and when he gets one
on one with somebody or he knows that he's about
to house it, like he's not the runner that Lamar
Jackson is or anything like that. But when he gets going,
he goes meet me and zoom and is gone. Yeah,
I think that's one of the best places you could
buy that ticket. Let's keep that drop.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Yeah, you know, for me it's Lamar Jackson. He's another
one that I see.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
The throw he.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Made the Bateman the other day. Sure, just just a
tremendous throw.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
We know.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Also in that same game, remember the little uh stop
at the gold line let the friender go by like
you would do on the street playing.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
He did.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
There's a famous move that he did in high school.
That was one of the That was one of the
moves in high school. It may be hard to believe
now that you know, with the House of highlights and
the way everything is now, but we didn't used to
see everybody playing high school.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
Most games were not recorded. Yeah, most games were not recorded.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
So we saw this kid like as you said, freshman
and come into Louisville. Saw it highlight tape and that
was one of the plays. He just stopped at the
two yard line and everybody goes and flew right past
him into the front row.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Yeah. I love watching him play.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
I will go.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Out of my way to find his game, you know what,
I mean, to check him out because he's so dynamic
and again we talked about it his defense a couple
of games this year. I watch both of those games.
I'm not a red zone guy. I'm a watch one
game guy. That's what I am. And then I watch
highlights because I want to see the whole game. I
(17:21):
want to see.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Uh play develop.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
I just want to see the whole thing. Football to
me is not just when you're inside the twenty or
what I know. Red zones changed somewhat right you watch.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
It, Yeah, I mean change. I have it up and
then I also have up the Well. The thing that
they really do is not only in the twenty now, no, they.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Show you every team that scores, but also like in
the midst of like the what seven to eight one
o'clock window games, they'll show like the big one, like
I don't know, who I forget this game is on
Monday night, But like if Eagles Ravens was Sunday at
one o'clock, they were going to show that game at
the fifty yard line, you know. They they lean into
like the most popular two or three game. A couple
(18:02):
of weeks ago, it was Bear's Commanders Caleb been a
Jaydon Daniel.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Well, because I figured people wanted to see the two
rookie quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Hey Patrick, what about you? Who are you?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
I know you're a Seahawks fan and Gino's Pizza is
not the guy I already I could just I guess
it's not what you're dying to see or watch.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
But just as a quarterback, who do you like to watch? Well,
you know, Robert, I actually do have one. And no
it's it's not Geno of course, And no it's not
my number two Vikings. It's not Sam Darnold or was
Kirk Cousins or any of that. It's actually someone in
the AFC.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
We know him.
Speaker 6 (18:37):
Well, it's just if only he had a more competent
team around him, or was maybe in a better situation.
But uh my boy, joe Burrow, Joey b anytime, that's
a good pick kid, it's gody. Just get him a
better team and he can get a ring man. Just
he's I've seen him just throw some dimes or throw
(18:58):
some throws. And of course he's got Jamar Chase, but
they've been teammates and just they know when they just
when they're on. It's it's it's such a thing of beauty,
Rob like he a great ones.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
I meant to Joe Burrow and early on, I remember
a lot of people were saying he shouldn't go to
Cincinnati or whatever, a bad organization, this that and the
other thing, and like you want to change something, you
beat the difference, right, And what did he do?
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Hurt the first year?
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Right?
Speaker 3 (19:23):
But he played six to seven games, played four.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
Games, got hurt, then came back and took the league
by storm, covered every game like he covered the spread
in like his first seventh he was seventeen and three
against spread the first games.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
He was incredible.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
He was absolutely incredible and I'm with you, magical and
even like I said, I watched both of the games
against the Ravens start to finish, and on any other
night or any yeah, he wins both of those games.
If Lamar's not the quarterback both of those games. Yeah,
(19:57):
he's that good. It's pretty amazing.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
All right.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Coming up next, I'm gonna talk with Lamar Mitchell Bett MGM,
the director of training some NFL games coming up this
weekend for you. He'll let us know what's going on
in Vegas. But first let's get you caught up. He is,
mister Steve de Sager, one of the best in the business.
Speaker 7 (20:21):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
That's not a.
Speaker 7 (20:22):
Stretch, and a happy Thanksgiving before you both get away
on the Friday Show.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Absolutely back at you.
Speaker 7 (20:28):
And the seventh rank Georgia Bulldogs playing college football at
home right now, hosting Georgia Tech. Georgia has been shut
out in a first half for the first time in
five years. It's Georgia Tech seventeen to nothing at the
break and Tech has about a twenty minutes to ten
time of possession advantage. They're over three hundred total yards
in the first half. This is the Georgia Bulldogs rank
(20:50):
seventh in the country. Oh, Steve, I watched Tech missilefield
goal fourth and four. Three plays later, it's fourth and
fourteen for Georgia. They're punning again. Georgia Tech missed a
short field goal off the upright, this could be more
than seventeen to nothing and for being honest, Georgia thinking
they could probably not cruise, but we in and go
ten and two to say the least, this one is
(21:12):
not over. They've started the third quarter. Nebraska leeds at
Iowa ten nothing and on Fox TV, Utah is leading
at UCF ten to seven late second quarter. Today, Number
eleven Boise he stayed defeated Oregon State thirty four to eighteen.
Heisman candidat Ashton gent thirty seven carries two hundred and
twenty six yards in a touchdown. He was over two
(21:33):
over two thousand yards rushing for the season before today's game.
Heisman candidate for twenty fifth rank Colorado Travis Hunter today
had three touchdown receptions and an interception on defense. Colorado
beat Oklahoma State fifty two to nothing. Oklahoma State winless
in the Big twelve. Mississippi State winless in the SEC
after losing at fourteenth ranked Ole Miss twenty six to fourteen.
(21:56):
San Jose State beat Stanford thirty four thirty one. Stanford
finishes three and nine. Minnesota got to win at Wisconsin
today twenty four to seven, and the Chiefs won the
NFL game at home over Las Vegas nineteen seventeen.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
The Raiders have lost eight straight. They're two and ten.
Speaker 7 (22:12):
Las Vegas missed field goal attempts from fifty six, fifty
five and fifty eight yards lost by two Raiders with
nine penalties for over one hundred yards. Matthew Wright four
or five on field goals is today's Chiefs kicker. Only
one make beyond thirty five yards, but all of them key,
of course. With that final score Isaiah Pacheco off injured
reserve at seven carries forty four yards, the Chiefs clinched
(22:35):
a playoff spot for the tenth straight year. The Bears
fired head coach Matti Reflew. NBA wins for New York
and Memphis.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Back to you, all right, Steve, have a great night.
Appreciate it. Thank you. It is the odd couple on this.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Uh Friday, by Friday. It is Friday's honkey flashback Fiday
this week. Yesterday was Saturday.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Yeah, you get mixed up because of the days and
fel like it when you drive in and nobody on
the road.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
A funky flashback Friday.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Rob Parker and Martin weiss In for Kelvin Washington and
we're broadcast live from the tyrack dot Com studios.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
And guess what it is?
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Time for the man, the money man, Lamar Mitchell bet MGM,
Director of Trading.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
Welcome in, Lamar and say hi to Martin Weiss?
Speaker 8 (23:23):
Martin?
Speaker 9 (23:23):
How you doing the time?
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Doing well? Man? Happy Thanksgiving? That's right? How was your Thanksgiving? A?
Speaker 9 (23:29):
Lots of turkey, lots of greens, locks of lots of maconties.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
You know how we do it?
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Yes, oh my goodness, gracious, no doubt about it. And
then you get the iis right after that meal, don't you?
Speaker 3 (23:43):
What's that? Rob? You just fall out from eating? What
is that trick to finn? What do they call it
or whatever? Giants? Yes or cowboys johnts. Either one will
put you to sleep, you know what I mean? Yes, sir,
no doubt. All right, let's go here.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
So the ro's on the Cardinals are on the road
heading the Minnesota the face of Vikings, who are three
and a half point favorites.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Do you look at where's the money being better?
Speaker 9 (24:08):
On that?
Speaker 3 (24:08):
And the Cardinals on the road. Do you think they
looked like they could cover that game?
Speaker 9 (24:14):
You know what thing about that game is the Sharps
are on the Cardinals on this game here, but the
public slight favor in edge of the vikings. The Cardinals,
you know that loss last week versus the Seahawks divisional game,
that they haven't really matched up against those guys very well.
But if you look at the situation, this is going
(24:37):
to be Joe's versus Pros, and the pros are definitely
on the Cardinals plus for three and a half.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
The Texans right now on the road three and a
half point favorites going to Jacksonville. Obviously, two teams that
know each other, two teams that have trouble scoring. Texans
hadn't scored, I'm barely scored the second half all season. Jaguars,
I think their last game out had a total of
six points. Right here, it's forty four. Where's the money
at on this over or under?
Speaker 9 (25:05):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (25:05):
On the total?
Speaker 9 (25:05):
They're definitely bet this total over. They've been smashing this
total over. The Sharks have definitely been smashing this total over.
And we're gonna be in some trouble here because the
Joe's we haven't really taken any money on the under
on this. So the pros and the Joes are both
on the total over in this game here.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
You know what it means. I've been looking at us
A seventeen to three exactly.
Speaker 9 (25:30):
There's going to be an under then, right, absolutely, that's
what the house is looking for.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
I bet, let me ask you this, Okay, So Seahawks
are heading to New York to face the Jets or
a one point favorite at home. It's almost an even line.
Is there a real favorite to pick between these two?
Speaker 9 (25:50):
You know what's funny about that is we originally open
the Seahawks is a small favorite on the road, but
the Pros have just smashed this plus two plus one
plus one and a half, so right now it favored
Jets by one. A public, though, is definitely on Seahawks
(26:11):
in this situation. So it's will be interesting to see
because the Jets are getting all the action, all the
love from the Pros, but the jos are all on
the Seahawks in this situation here, so we'll see Joe's
versus pro scenario number two.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Our guest is Lamar Mitchell. Of course, bet MGM, the
director of trading. I'll tell you what I don't understand.
Pros has been pounding the Jets all year. I feel
like I've seen lines moving in the Jets favor, but
that's neither here nor they're the Buccaneers heading to Carolina
to take on the Panthers.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
Panthers sneaky like one two of the last three games here.
Tampa's a six point favorite on the road in division.
Where are the pros putting their money on? They're betting
on Baker.
Speaker 9 (26:52):
You know what, the pros have not touched this game
at all, which leads us to believe that we got
the right number here at minus six with the Bucks.
The public is all on the Bucks, about a four
to one take account in favor of the Bucks here,
but the pros no action on this game at all,
(27:12):
which you're right, Martin. It looks like the Panthers might
be the play here because they've been playing much improved
football and Bryce Young is looking like he might be
savageable as a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
All right, Best matchup of the week Eagles heading to
Baltimore to play the Ravens now over under his fifty one?
Is everyone feeling on taking the over between these two?
Speaker 9 (27:37):
You know what's funny about that is we have it
at fifty one and a half originally, and they bet
it down at fifty one, so the sharps are definitely
betting it under. But the public has sped it over
at a clip about two to one, so we're not
really sure, you know, depending on what we're going to
(27:57):
see as far as that number, I mean, it looks
like Joe's versus pros again, and the pros are definitely
betting this game under, whether Joe's are betting it over.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
We got the forty nine ers the only way to Buffalo.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
This is one of those matchups when you look at
the schedule in August, you're like, oh my goodness, forty
nine ers Buffalo, this is gonna be a great game.
Now we're looking at Brot Perdy. Maybe not out there.
Buffalo looks like a wagon. Forty nine ers not so much.
Fred Warner has been playing on a fractured ankles since
week four. That's insanity to me. Could be bad weather.
The total in this game is project it's forty four
(28:30):
and a half. Where are you seeing big money under?
Speaker 9 (28:33):
Over?
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Where is it at?
Speaker 9 (28:35):
Definitely under? They've been betting this game. They've been slamming
this game under. We opened originally at forty six and
a half. They took the forty six and a half.
Bet that under forty five and a half. Bet that
under the forty five. And like you said, right now
we're at forty four and a half and it's holding steady.
But it's even money from the from the Joe's on
(28:56):
this as far as ticket count on the total over
and under. But the the Pros, they've been slamming this
game under all weeks since we open this game up.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
Lamar, there's very rarely, Lamar Mitchell, director of Trading, I
bet MGM here on the odd couple there. It's very
rarely an opportunity or a time in the NFL where
I say, look, when this.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Situation arises, I'm betting it every single time.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
I don't know how bad I don't feel about it smells,
if it tastes bad, if it looks bad. But if
Mike Tomlin is a underdog of three or fewer points,
I feel like I automatically have to bet it.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Are the Pros with me on this one? Pittsburgh Cincinnati?
Speaker 9 (29:33):
I'm sorry, Mark, not this time. Originally, when we open
this number, the pro the Pros laid the two and
a half we had at minus one ten. Then we
moved it to minus two and a half minus one
twenty and we're sitting pretty right now at plus or
minus three. Definitely, the public's in the favor of the
(29:53):
Bengals of this weekend, and the Joe's definitely are on
the Steelers because like, do you think it's Mike Toblin
and they have to cover that three divisional game, So
we'll see after that debacle they had in Cleveland last week,
all of those gonna be very cold, and if Russell
Wilson can't get his stuff together, we might see another
(30:14):
situation like that. That's what the joe's, that's what the
pros are telling us.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
So so Thanksgiving Day three games, of course, did you
guys turn off the lights and heat?
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Did you guys take a bath yesterday? Because I want
you to know, Shekel City.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Hit my last nine picks, including all three yesterday on
the football games?
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Did people have Bears plus ten? Most people?
Speaker 9 (30:35):
Yeah, as people had their actually one on that do
we won because they were laying that they were laying
that ten. So that was the game that we won.
We lose to the Cows and we lose to the Packers,
but it was a small locks for the house yesterday
but definitely everybody was on the.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Pack on the Lions, so everybody.
Speaker 9 (30:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
And when it was sixteen nothing, I'm sure people thought
it was going to I saw on Twitter I was
going to be fifty to nothing.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
And then here comes a Caleb and the Bears in
the second half. What do you think? What do you
make of the ending with their coach not using a timeout?
Speaker 9 (31:13):
Disbelief? Disbelieve, rab absolutely disbelief. You know, it was like
UFO flying in front of.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
Stop lamar.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
Okay, so Maddy reflues. Obviously he just got fired. He
was five and nineteen in one score games we saw.
I mean from a block field goal to this non timeout.
He still has that time out with me can take,
he can call it whenever he has use it. Now,
how much, if at all, do you factor in coaches
(31:47):
who seemingly can't get it done, into your into your
into the line making.
Speaker 9 (31:53):
You know what's funny about that is we really don't
look at that. I mean, degree we are small. Degree
we do, but really it's about the personnel on the field,
and you know, who's got the better kicker, who's got
the better quarterback. At some instances, when you get into
a situation where unfortunately our hometown Raiders they can't do
(32:16):
anything and they have these decisions that you scratch your
head and Matt fever flus where you scratch your head.
We don't really look at that that often. It's a
small percentage. Obviously, when you know Andy Reid is going
against a rookie coach, you know, we give them the edge,
but usually they have the better personnel, So we're just
(32:38):
looking at the personnel most of the time.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
Last thing, speaking of the Raiders, the hometown Raiders, what
what have people embraced them? Or is that just other
fans who decide that that's the weekend that they're going
to go to Vegas because their team is playing there.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
What is that like there? Is it mostly that or
does it? Do they really have a fan base?
Speaker 6 (33:00):
You know?
Speaker 9 (33:00):
Actually I was in the book not too long ago,
and all it hurt was Rayers, Ray Raiders. Really, what
it is is a lot of times, you know, originally,
initially when the Raiders got here, we would always meet
the other side because the hometown crowd would back the
(33:20):
Raiders with their money, back them with their money consistently consistently.
So it's it's kind of like right now. It's the
hidden miss. You know, the Raiders are playing that well
as well as they should be playing for the hometown team.
So one day we could meet the Raiders and another
day when they're here, we don't need them because the
(33:42):
home crowd is betting them. But you know now the
fact that when you get the Chiefs coming down and
everybody's it's like a home game for the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Everybody's yeah, because that's what it is here in La.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
I mean, it's mostly it's unbelievable, Like even Rams and
the Chargers, it's always the people from the other cities
who take over the stadium.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
You found three Chargers fans this year and that triple DML.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Yeah, unbelievable. All right, Lamar Mitchell bet MGM, my man.
We always appreciate you. Thank you so much.
Speaker 9 (34:16):
You guys enjoyed the rest of the say Stephen weekend. Rob,
get that turkey and that gravy and the mash tatood stuff.
Speaker 2 (34:24):

Speaker 9 (36:35):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (36:35):
You know we say Roberts always black Friday for us.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
Let's right, no doubt, Every Friday, no doubt, keV.
Speaker 10 (36:42):
That's right. Hey, you know you're the poop king. I'll
tell you that when you are.
Speaker 8 (36:46):
But just follow with this.
Speaker 10 (36:47):
The Kansas City Chiefs Number one probably is left tackle.
If they don't have a left tackle to protect Patrick Mahomes,
they're gonna lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 8 (36:56):
They're loose to the Bills, They'll lose any team they
they do.
Speaker 10 (37:01):
Not have a left tackle to contain a passwords.
Speaker 8 (37:04):
I watched that game to day.
Speaker 10 (37:05):
They should have ran away with it that they missed
two touchdowns to Kelsey because Mahomes had no time to
throw the ball. We saw what happened the last time.
They didn't have me tackles in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 8 (37:13):
Anny's gotta figure that out.
Speaker 10 (37:15):
They shined Humphrey.
Speaker 8 (37:16):
But that guy they had in there today, I know,
the pos or whateverthing was. He was terrible in his
face and I saw him. I've never seen Mahomes that angry.
He had that angry, mean mark looking at.
Speaker 9 (37:28):
Face like, what are you guys doing?
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (37:30):
I don't think that Kwanya Morris will be long for
the NFL. And Kingsley Sumata, the guy they drafted, he's
un tying. Look, they need DJ Humphries to work out
in a big way. Hey hey keV Oh yeah, how
about your your drop?
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Are you? Are you happy about it or you're not?
Speaker 9 (37:47):
I love it?
Speaker 6 (37:47):
Hey.
Speaker 10 (37:48):
You know they always say, you know any any famous
good thing?
Speaker 9 (37:51):
You know they're talking about you.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
You know they talking Have you heard that Martin? No,
you haven't heard it?
Speaker 7 (37:55):
Do you do?
Speaker 9 (37:56):
You? Do you have it?
Speaker 3 (37:57):
Oh? You don't have it?
Speaker 8 (37:57):
Okay, I got the image on it, but I got
it was the vision on my face, but don't.
Speaker 10 (38:02):
Bring it back.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
Yeah yeah, yeah, Alex loved it.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
Basically was talking about Mike Tyson that he didn't want
to see Mike Tyson's big booty.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Oh I have heard that. Yeah, yeah, it's very funny.
I'm sure your friends have heard. It's hilarious.
Speaker 10 (38:14):
So it was like thirteen.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Yes, it was awesome, no doubt. Thank you buddy.
Speaker 9 (38:23):
Too.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
All right, So Mark, what game are you looking forward to?
Speaker 4 (38:26):
I was Steelers Bengals Man AFC North Black and Blue Division.
Tomlin is a three point underdog Joe Burrow with the
season on the line. Season has been on the line
for the last three weeks. I'm interested. I'm hype to
see that. Patrick are The.
Speaker 6 (38:42):
One I'm kind of hyped for. Rob honestly is Seahawks Jets.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
And I know I'm showing my my, my, fine, but
you're a Seahawks fan.
Speaker 6 (38:50):
They're going They're going to New York. It's it's it's
a West Coast meeting East coast early star.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
I know, do you feel you don't feel good about it?
Speaker 1 (38:57):
Do you?
Speaker 6 (38:58):
Honestly, I do feel good about it because the Jets
are well, you can't spell j E T S without sucks.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
Sucks suck right because they suck.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
Being serious, as as the stories came out from the
Jets last week.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
I'm like, man, they still have to play games.
Speaker 4 (39:14):
Games like, they still have to play games, Like Aaron
Rodgers says he's avoiding the MRI machine. You know, they're
saying he doesn't want to get you know Whatdy Johnson saying,
you want to bench Aaron Rodgers firing the staff.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
And they're not done yet. No, that's still games left.
I mean, we're not done, not yet. It'll be interesting
to see. I would just want to see that Ravens
Eagles game obviously. I think that's a big game, has
a lot of MVP implications in.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
That as well. So yeah, for the Lions and Packers. Oh,
that game is technically next week, right, that's not Remember
the lineup the Lions just played yesterday. The Lions played,
and we're in the football We go from Thursday to Monday.
Then next Monday we can talk about lines blame, no doubt. Alright, Well,
(40:00):
I appreciate it, all right, Martin, thank you. Kelvin will
be back on Monday. Uh and the Jason Smith Show
is next stick around
