Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to the Best of the Odd Couple with
Chris Bruce and Rob Harker.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
The Atlanta Falcons decided that they're one game out of
the winning the division in the playoff spot, and Kirk
Cousins hasn't played well for five weeks, and they're gonna
go with Pennix, the rookie who's played one series, Robb
g Right, one series, Pennix, I think all year from
(00:52):
that's it, and they're gonna go with him over Kirk Cousins.
And I think this is just a ridiculous, terrible decision
only from this standpoint. Kirk Cousins, before their last game
that they won, had thrown eight interceptions and no touchdowns,
so they kept playing them. Then he throws one touchdown
(01:16):
in one pick and they win the game, and now
is it time to take him out? When they're playing
the New York Football Giants next week, a bad football
team that they should be able to beat, and instead
you're gonna put a rookie quarterback who has never made
a start in the NFL in a big in a
playoff game.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I'm some about this. This doesn't make sense.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
And if you told me you benched Kirk Cousins three
weeks ago, then I'm all with it. Right when he
was going no touchdowns and eight interceptions for.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Four weeks total, he just won the game.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
I know he hasn't played well, and I'm not a
big Kirk Cousins guy, but does this make sense the timing?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
I'm surprised.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Well, the thing I do know and seeing it from
that perspective, it doesn't make sense because you're still in
competition to win the division. The playoff berth is at risk.
But this is what I do know. Whenever you have
(02:20):
young players, especially high round draft picks, and they're not
starting right away, what happens as the season gets going.
You look on your schedule, like coaches, GMS personnel, upstairs personnel,
they look at their schedule and then they start to
circle games. They take the pen out and they start
(02:43):
circling games where you think can give that young player
a better opportunity to have success. So if you're looking
at their schedule when you get down to where they
are now, after you know, the four game losing streak
(03:05):
and they came out and they were adamant about, hey
we're sticking with Kirk Cousins. You win this game against
the Raiders doesn't look good, and then you say, hey,
look we got a home game.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
Against the Giants.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
You don't want to make have him make his first
start on the road unless he's starting from day one, like.
Speaker 5 (03:26):
You don't want to set him up for that.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
So after the four game losing streak and you have
the Raiders at Oakland, you don't want to put him
in the crosshairs of Max Crosby the fans. You want
to try to manufacture and craft the best possible situation
for a young player, especially a quarterback. So looking at
(03:51):
their schedule and their record, you land on this one.
It can't be next week at the Commanders unless he
balls out right. But you don't want him to go
on the road to a Commander's team that's you know,
poise to to to make a run into the playoffs.
At the Commanders. It was you basically punted on the postseason.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
It was even this is what it sounds like. Either
you're gonna do the Giants.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Either you're gonna do the Giants this week or in
two weeks the Panthers at home, either one of the
last the last game of the season.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
But my point is, try to beat the Giants a
beatable right, yes, not the veteran quarterback play who did
that finally have a touchdown and he did have a pick, right,
and you won the game. If you lose that game, okay,
then you can reiv out and just say forget it.
We're just gonna go with the kid and we don't care.
(04:48):
But but that's the game you put the kid in
who hasn't played. What if he has two or three interceptions,
you lose to the bad Giants at home. I think
that's bad for the organization, for the team, for everybody
to say, why would you start him now in a game.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
That was winnable with a veteran quarterback?
Speaker 1 (05:07):
What did you sign him for four years with all
that guaranteed money and he can't beat the Giants at home?
Speaker 4 (05:15):
That's the Yeah, that's the perpexing thing. For me is
you have so much guaranteed money tied up.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
He's getting.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
You know that, right what get cut?
Speaker 5 (05:31):
And he's going to get every single sex he's getting it.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Now.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
I get the notion of we need to see what
Pennis can do, but you don't necessarily have to do
that this year, not when you're on the custom of
possibly sneaking into the playoffs. That four game losing streak
really hurt. You lose at the Saints, at the Broncos,
the Chargers, and at the Vikings. That's a tough four games.
(05:55):
That's a that's a tough four games. And so now
go of the Raiders, beat the Raiders. You have the Giants,
you feel like you have can can you can control
the situation. You do want to see Michael Pennix, what
he looks like in the game. Me personally, it doesn't
make sense unless he's going to start the remaining three
games one hundred, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
You gotta still you gotta stick with him, right.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
It doesn't make That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
That makes And then go, oh, Kirk Cousins play against
the Commanders next week?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
What what?
Speaker 5 (06:30):
Yeah? And Kurt's you know, Kurt's been around.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
He's a veteran quarterback, streaky quarterback, he's one big games lost,
a lot of games. Are still in position, right, they're
still in position to go ten and seven, that should
get them in the playoffs. And if they're willing to
punt on that or for a goal that just to
see what Michael Pennix U can do. This is not
(06:56):
a situation that Mike Tomlin had in Burg earlier, right,
This is we don't know who Michael Pennix is in
terms of being an NFL quarterback. They can't wait to
see who he is, so they're kind of, you know,
cutting off their nose despite their face. If you're you're
you're willing to give up an opportunity to go to
(07:18):
the playoffs to finish ten and seven just to see
what you guys drafted, Well, that shouldn't be the game
plan because you paid Kurt then you drafted him anyway,
so you should have something in place unless Kurt got
hurt to where we're not this is a a he's
a this is a learning.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
What did you see a veteran quarterback for with that
kind of guaranteed money and here's playoffs right in your face.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
You can't take for granted making the playoffs, right.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
If you're the GM or you're the coach, uh and
you got a team and you're like, wait a minute,
we have a chance. If the Bucks lose and we
win and we're tie and there's two games, club like, there's
a real chance. And Michael Pennix might light it up
for all I know it's the Giants, right, but he
also might wet the bed. And then you got to
(08:10):
question the front office and the coaching staff, what are
you doing in this situation.
Speaker 2 (08:15):

Speaker 1 (08:27):
This is what is interesting is now the commissioner finally
talked about Rob g has the details and then this
is where we want to take the next part of
this conversation.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
Yeah, so at the NBA Cup in Vegas, you know,
the media members got a hold of them in a
conference room and they were talking about a series of things,
one of them about possibly moving out of Vegas, so
on and so forth. The other one being you know,
the ratings and how people have kind of decided that
one of the biggest issues with the NBA right now,
as you guys mentioned, is a three pointer. All the
is is threes, and whoever makes the most threes that
(08:56):
night's gonna win. He said in part that the NBA
is quote having many discussions about the style of basketball.
He didn't want to reduce it to a so called
three point shooting issue, just something you want to look
at more holistically. But then he added later criticisms of
offenses becoming quote cookie cutter, and that teams are copying
each other. It's something he thinks the league needs to
(09:19):
look at and take seriously.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
He from, here's my issue, and this is why I
say he's the worst commissioner is he's a reactionary commissioner.
And I'm sorry. You have to be looking at the
game yourself and saying this is not entertaining, Like there
are people who are basketball fans. Okay, I've been covering
the league since nineteen eighty seven. Okay, when I covered
(09:43):
he from when I started covering, I used to be
on the commercial flights with the players sitting next to him.
That's how long when the NBA I was there. When
the NBA used to get less meal money than the
sports writers from the national newspaper when you.
Speaker 5 (09:58):
Had the cigarette of the right smoking. And then I
went to Europe.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
You ready, the last twelve seats, Rob g the last
twelve seats on a flight was smoking, right, the last
twelve I was in thirteen. I'm not the whole flight
to Europe where they're smoking the twelve rows.
Speaker 5 (10:22):
I mean.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Think about that, all right.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
So this is my issue is now after you've ever like,
haven't your people and you watch the product and you
should have been like, no, we need to have some conversations.
We need to change our game. Everybody rips, Rob Manford.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
The MLB commissioner Ephraim looked at the game and what
did he do? No more shift, we don't want home
runs and strikeouts. He made some radical changes. Right, You
can't over a million times, you can't bring in nine
pitchers to pitch, right, they got all got to warm
(11:07):
up and come in and all that, and at least
three exactly right. And you just said the pitch clock revolutionized.
Say you chopped thirty minutes off the game. I've gone
to Dodger games, Ephrom and I'm like, it's over.
Speaker 7 (11:21):
You know what I mean like what, I don't even
feel like I was there long enough. I want the
games over now. You don't want to be You got
to get back and we get that traffic. That's what
time is that getting out of that stadium. What a
great experience.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
And I'm telling anybody, if you're on your bucket list,
you want to go to Dodger Statum.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
But the traffic, I'm not mad at me.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
Time You need time, so you can wait in the
stadium until everybody leaves.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
And then you can get out of there.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
But about the commissioner, right, I do get your point,
and it's a product. Look, you can't put the genie
back in the bottle. You're not gonna make three point
is worth two points now to reverse what analytics has done,
kids are training to do one step fake step back three.
That's what the training is at earlier as eight nine
years old. So that portion of the game, you've let
(12:14):
it get out of control. Now you can do what
they've done already. You can move to three point lineback.
But guys are shooting from the logo anyway. So it's
one of those situations where I really and truly don't
know how you fix what the NBA product that we
get to see every night, every single person. What you
(12:36):
can do is you can implement if you score with
your back to the basket in the post, that's worth
three points, right, because.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
No one needs to do it anymore. No, no one
can do it anymore.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
I mean, if you tell one of these young kids
to score what your back to the basket in the post,
they might kill themselves, like it's so foreign and to
them now the mid range jump shot is so foreign
to a lot of players. It's either a layup dunk
or a three pointer. There's no in between. And nobody
(13:13):
wants to watch that. Who wants to watch that? Nobody? No,
And that's exactly right, and that's the that's the point.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
But he has to see.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Like you can sit here and and brag about your
your social media views and all that. Dude, your media partners,
you don't think the TNT thing was by accident like
like they were like when they threaten the NBA because
they have been on the bad end of a lot
of games from where the stars aren't playing. How many
(13:45):
times did you tune in write a matchup and then
you turn it on and realize that two stars from
each team ain't playing.
Speaker 5 (13:52):
I'm good.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
I'm gonna move on to something else, right, move on
to a Hackey sack or something. But you're absolutely right.
Look they I don't know, I really don't know what
the answer is. This new proposed playoff, I mean, all
Star game format trash trash.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
I'm like, can you imagine?
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Even even Kevin Durant said this is terrible?
Speaker 5 (14:12):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 4 (14:14):
I heard Magic on Speak today what he said, Matt
and they asked him about it, Keishaan and Paul Pierce,
they really asked him about what has happened to.
Speaker 5 (14:26):
The All Star Game? And he said, Look, we.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
Hated the East right like I hated Jordan and Isaiah
and Bird. We wanted to beat them. I refuse to
let them get one up on me. And that was
the thing that was driving the league. When you look
at the rivalries in the league, the Bulls and the
Pistons and the Lakers and the Celtics, Like when you
(14:53):
look at the Bulls and the next the Bulls and
everybody for all of the nineties. But when you look
at that, when you look at Philly and New York
and all of those rivalries, there was genuine dislike for
the team, the city, the players, and they played like that,
(15:15):
they played like it mattered.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Were all those Miami nick and the pacers in the Knicks.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Bra was on the legs. That was that commonplace look.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
And I know Adam Silver came in and was like, look,
we're not gonna we need more scoring. We don't want
people fighting on the court. But what you did was
you took the edge away from competing. You must step
up and compete. It is not at any given time,
at any given NBA game Right now, you can watch
(15:50):
a game for five minutes and there complete zero defense
played and zero shots outside of a three pointer taken.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
Try it.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
If you don't believe me, watch a five minute span
of any NBA game and there will be a time
where no one shoots the ball outside of a free
throw inside the three point line. How is that sustainable?
Speaker 3 (16:14):
It's it's incredible.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
It's incredible that that is what we're viewing and why
people have tuned out. You could people can pooh pooh
it all they want. These are hard call facts. When
you look at the numbers, they just are And you
can't say all everybody's ratings are down because it's just
not true. You know what I mean, It's just not true.
It's not it's the the NBA's ratings are down, and
(16:36):
it's for a reason.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
The game.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
And how many times you heard Charles Barkley on Inside
the NBA go, this game is unwatchable, these unwatched Its terrible, unwatchable.
So uh, I think I think that that's the way. Uh,
that's being an honest call on the NBA. And unfortunately
Adam Silver had to wait for other people and now
(16:59):
he's seen this so well eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three
sixty nine. And real simple, is he the worst commissioner
in sports? I mean, make a case. If you got
somebody else, I'll gladly take him. But I believe, for
real he's the worst commissioner. And he's been soft with
(17:21):
the players, the load management, was a big black guy
for the league, and it's just a lot of things
about the league that's not good. And I can say
this with complete confidence. There's no way David Stern would
have sat around and allowed that and allowed stars to
miss game national game for the NBA.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
You couldn't do it. They're making too much money to
do that. Crazy's making too much sixty million dollars a year,
it's going to get up to an eighty eighty one
hundred million dollars a year for you to figure out
if you're sore enough to play a back to back.
Speaker 2 (17:59):

Speaker 8 (18:35):
This is the segment from If you've never heard it,
been a part of it, ever played around with it,
or downloaded it on demand, This is one of our
great segments where we invite people of this great network
itself to come into the ring and to take on
the tag team duo, the greatest hot takery artists in
the industry, The Odd Couple in a debate unlike any
(18:58):
other with three major topics, and for some reason, the
entire staff here at Fox Sports is shaking in their
boots that Rob G has to come back again to
defend not only his last title he won by the way,
but to show the world why the odd Couple may
be losing their flame.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
What he ain't nobody? Why are you afraid of these guys?
I don't understand it. We're a nice, easy going god.
Speaker 6 (19:23):
I don't get it.
Speaker 8 (19:24):
It's crazy to me. But shout us to Rob GI
for coming in the ring again. From I'll give you
a quick rundown just so you know how this works,
and everybody listening, the Odd Couple's gonna go two to
one against robb G. He has three hot takes, and
how it goes is robb G gets two chances to
state his case of exactly why he believes what he does.
You go once, he from rob goes once, and then
I will decide who truly defines the argument the best.
(19:49):
All right, gentlemen, ready, yes, and I'm gonna.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Go first after everyone. Okay, if you want to.
Speaker 8 (19:54):
Smoke well, Odd Couples already starting with a negative point
is telling Judge Horagment.
Speaker 5 (20:03):
I was trying to make it easier for.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Go ahead to lose anyway, It don't matter to me.
Speaker 8 (20:09):
So point number one Rob G has a actually crazy take.
He says Magic Johnson isn't a top five player in
NBA history. Rob G thirty seconds tell us why I
wish you would.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
Have gave me a hard one, Alex, because everybody knows
that Magic Johnson is my CW whatever, p close warm
personal friend. That's Treverer says I ran it to him
at the Alpoil look across the street. We've been really
good friends. But as good as Magic Johnson is, he's
number six all time, he's not top five. And the
reason why is you got guys like Kobe Bryant and
Tim Duncan ahead of him is because, unlike Magic Johnson,
(20:45):
they played defense. Tim Duncan fifteen time All Defensive Team,
Kobe Bryant twelve time All Defensive Team, Magic Johnson zero.
All my man does is pass the ball to James
Worthy of criybdul jabbar.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Racking up stets.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Please, you never saw a six foot nine point guard.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Ever in the NBA lebron Jay when he.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Showed up and showtime, remember Kareem have been dragging his
behind for a couple of years here.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
He put new life.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
He played every position, He won them a championship his
rookie year.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Are you kidding me? He is one of the all
time greats. He is a top.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Rob.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
I'm embarrassed that you would bring that up. You know why,
because like you didn't address the point. The point was
Magic Johnson was a point guard who only played one
side of the floor, and I didn't want to bring
this out on my half to you. If you go
back and watch the Showtime Lakers clips on YouTube, go
check it out. How often does Magic Johnson use his
left hand? Rob It's right hand, right hand, right hand,
(21:47):
backing down, right back. My man could not cross over
to his left hand. Rob It was how are you
gonna be a top five player use one hand? Magic
Johnson changed basketball. Magic Johnson made basketball exciting. Magic Johnson
and the Showtime Lakers put the NBA on a map
(22:10):
where games were played live. People were coming out of
the stands to see it. No one has seen a
six to nine point guard that could get everybody involved
and win championships, not only in college, but come into
the NBA where it was big, dominated and dominate.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
There would be no any other.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
Conversation about Lebron or anybody else when it came to
being a point.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
Guard if it weren't for Magic Johnson. Wow.
Speaker 9 (22:37):
Wow, I will say this.
Speaker 8 (22:38):
At first, when Rob Parker started to give his reasoning,
I thought maybe Rob didn't remember the point about being
a top five there, so I thought maybe Rob was
having some fun. But then Ephraim was waiting in the
back to lower my guard to come in with the
actual facts of why Magic Johnson is indeed probably more
important to basketball than you can even argue Michael Jordan's.
Speaker 9 (22:58):
So I'm giving this thing a couple of boys. Job boys.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Wow, he's being loaded over here, Just so y'all know, even.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Though he spends all that time on the other side
with Rob g he's not clouded ever that.
Speaker 8 (23:13):
I'm the most reasonable man on the odd Coup and
also pretty tos since I sit next to robbed you
all the time. So point two hot seat Odd Couple. Robbi,
right now, I told you what tell you? I see
your face right now and you're gonna be so mad.
Next you're the best part from the best part for
people at home. Robbie is slowly moving.
Speaker 9 (23:34):
To the life.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
You wanted to be outside of the camera frames. So funny.
I know Elijah's going can you move over? Like?
Speaker 9 (23:43):
I'm sorry, Rob, who.
Speaker 7 (23:44):
I'm not coughing your way, You're coughing into the ATMOSPHEREIC.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
Go ahead, right question.
Speaker 8 (23:50):
I'm sorry, Rob, You've got two young kids, said Elisha.
I've never heard of him, but anyway, So no hot seat,
take two, Robbi, says brock party Oh so fine. Deserves
to be the highest paid QB in NFL history, Rob G.
Speaker 6 (24:04):
I don't even understand why this is controversial. Rob, you
are the one who is telling everybody year after year
when the guys got Leftveridge and he doesn't use it.
Ask the problem. Brock Perdy won an MVP candidate last year.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
Thanks Rob.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
He is the face of one of the most profitable
brands in all of football. It is his turn to
get paid if and when his contract is up to
get negotiated. If he can't get paid top of the market,
who can't. Because he's got more playoff wins than Dak Prescott.
He's he's already shown himself to be a playoff performer
(24:39):
and he does well in the regular season. State for
this year, when everyone was hurt it's starting to get paid.
Speaker 5 (24:44):
Pay him up. Are you kidding?
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Did you watch the first half against the Lions last year?
Did you watch that game?
Speaker 5 (24:49):
You watched the second half.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
I'm just the first half.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
And this year, when he doesn't have all of his pieces,
he don't look nearly as great. And Jimmy Garoppolo somehow
someway didn't. Did he wind up going to the Super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (25:02):
Right?
Speaker 5 (25:03):
All right?
Speaker 1 (25:04):
With these save forty nine ers. So I'm just saying,
brock Party, he deserves to get paid. But the best,
the highest paid quarterback, he is not that guy. Pay
the person, not the position.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
Rob. I'm not saying that he's better than Josh Allen,
Lamar and Burrow and patro That's a different conversation. What
I'm saying is in order for this lead to continue
to prosper, so that guys can keep getting paid their value,
so that owners don't keep pocketing all the profits. When
it's your turn to get paid, you got to max
it out. And this is not a situation like Jimmy Garoppolo,
(25:38):
who everybody knew was mediocre, just happened to be his
turn he got paid. Brock Party last season was arguably
the best quarterback in football. We're enough for one really
bad night on Christmas. He would have been the MVP.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
There's never been a highest paid seventh round quarterback. A
quarterback to be highest paid in the league now, no
matter how how good Rock Perty is, he was the
last pick in the draft, in the seventh rounder. As
a former seventh rounder. No matter how much leverage you
think you have, you don't have enough to make you
(26:11):
one of the highest are if not the highest paid
quarterback in the league or any position. He will get paid,
but he will always have that seventh round moniker over
his head. Tom Brady was maybe one time for like
ten days, the highest paid quarterback. It never really happened,
and you can say he took less. But the fact
(26:32):
that the goat was never the highest paid quarterback, how
can break party be?
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Wow?
Speaker 8 (26:40):
I'm starting to learn that I'm an actual e from
salam fan because this guy literally just tied his own
personal account experiences in drafting to counter not only your arguments,
but even make me say, dude, don't pay party pay
the position, right, Rob?
Speaker 9 (26:55):
That's odd couple against.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
When I'm telling you this thing is cocked and loaded
over here?
Speaker 6 (27:03):
Are you talking about your eyeballs.
Speaker 8 (27:08):
Keep it above the way. See from above the way,
robb G. Now, I know you produced the show, but
I have good news for you. This last one is
worth two and a half.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
I steal it.
Speaker 9 (27:16):
So this is anybody's game.
Speaker 5 (27:17):
Well, we've just been set up here. That's okay. We
got We're set up a couple.
Speaker 8 (27:24):
Fox Sports Radio, the Great Ephram Salam filling in for
Kelvin Washington, Rob Parker, Robbie on the hot seat.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Last one got a show started. I thought it said
Chris Bussa.
Speaker 9 (27:32):
No, alright, p Yeah, we just got to shout him
out one time, you know.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
That once in a while.
Speaker 5 (27:38):
You know, even though he stood me up for breakfast,
you know I had to put him down.
Speaker 9 (27:41):
We had to let him go. It's okay.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
One of the last take, Rob G says watching sports
on TV is better than watching in person.
Speaker 9 (27:52):
I remember this take, Robbi go, that's right.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
I've had this take for years now.
Speaker 6 (27:55):
Have you ever been to a game and you're trying
to enjoy it, but there's some drunk ass guy behind
you is bumping into your back, spilling beer everywhere, trying
to start a fight with somebody talking about the school
he never went to but he wants to start to
Like No, when I go to a game, I want
to watch the game and enjoy the game. And the
way that fans have gotten so unruly these days, I
can't enjoy it. I'd rather sit home and watch it
on my seventy five inch TV with a brew in
(28:18):
one hand some wings in the other hand, my legs
kicked up, with plenty of space, and if I have
to go to the bathroom, I gotta wait in line
to do it. Watch it at home, people, Okay, brag fly,
no inflex is seventy five election. Just understand that.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
But pay as someone who has covered sports for thirty
nine years and has been to all the big games,
you can't tell me not being at the ballpark is
not better than watching on television. I don't care what
surround sound, how big a TV set is, it ain't
the same. When the stadium shakes and you feel people
(28:54):
melted together and all cheering or or booing or whatever
it is in Unison, it's the most unbelievable thing.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
Rob. I would agree with that.
Speaker 6 (29:04):
The problem is that's not the real experience when it
comes to going to sporting events. I can't say that
if I go to a Laker game that I'm gonna
have all Laker fans and I would have a good time. No,
because there's gonna be a Celtics fan. There's gonna be
some guy who's all hopped up on Mountain dew trying.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
To start fights with everybody. Like, let me just enjoy
the game.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
Want to bring my kids and my watch to the game.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
I can enjoy it and watch it.
Speaker 6 (29:23):
I don't gotta worry about this dude who's upset at home.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Not so as a person who likes to go to
games and likes to take my kids, my sons. Giving
them that experience, to me outweighs anything else. And it
is not all about where you sit. Since you have
a seventy five inch TV at home, maybe splurge a
little bit, make it, make it an event. Where we sit,
(29:48):
there is none of that. And my kids enjoy it,
and it's all about them, letting them experience. They can
experience everything at home on TV, but being live and
watching their team is something they'll carry whatever.
Speaker 6 (30:00):
Ephraim was this close to call me a broke cass.
I could hear it in his voice.
Speaker 8 (30:04):
Robi this close, Rob Gene you know, I also was
on the hot seat not that long ago, and I
had this exact same take, and I agree with you
one thousand percent. But you know, you know what happened
last week, Robbie, Rob Parker was poor shaming all of America.
Speaker 9 (30:18):
Really, and you have a TV bigger than you.
Speaker 8 (30:21):
So all I'm gonna say is Rob gen Odd couple
undefinitely round a champion baby.
Speaker 5 (30:28):
Shots fired telling everybody how big this thing is. I mean,
his TV is. I mean, I mean, come on with that.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
I got a.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
Seventy five inch, I got a semnty five. When you
said when you said that, I said, oh I got him.
When you said that, I was, Oh I got him.
It's over.
