I'll tell you. They get you up and you're feeling
good and slam you back down. Sometimes you'd be like,
what the heck?

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Well, if you ever look at it, I mean, obviously
you talk about gambling, I mean that they don't have
all that places in Vegas because the people.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Are losing exactly it's going on and they ain't even
got to be too. They ain't got to war sixty
seventy and what to beat you. It's fifty two and
the best.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
Is when they're like, hey, man, I got like comp this,
I got a comp here. I'm like, how much money
did you lose? When're like, hey, here's a free sweet
and come back.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
No, that's what it is. My aunt, my late aunt.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Used to they used to send she was big in
Atlantic City and they used to send limousines for her.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
Okay, I'm just they used to send she lived in
New York.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
They just send limousine for her and her my mom
and they would all piling and you know, go down
to Las Vegas. They're not keep sending a limousine for
her because she's winning.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Did the taj have a lean in her house? You
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I'm like, yeah, come on in now, Yeah, come on
every week.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
But that's what they do.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Like if you're if you are spending money with them,
rob G, free food vouchers, all that stuff, you know that, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Pick you up from the airport and come on here
with track limousine.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Why they have no issues doing that.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
They hate me because I'm the guy.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Let's say we were in Nam Jimmy walk by and like, oh,
you know, walk by Blackjack. I would drop two point
fifty on one hand win and keep you no I
want it, and leave like just literally walk away, like
literally they'd be like what no, yeah, just too thid
you know. Then just keep you moving, keep pushing. I
am about to be here. Go up fifteen hundred, go
down four thousand, and be like no.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
Well we know who a getting camped.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Again. Nothing.

Speaker 5 (03:41):
You ain't give me getting.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Exactly Mary strike that I was just playing.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
That's right, You're not getting anything before we get to
the HBCU head coaching jobs and former NFL players, which
I know you want to talk about just real quick
on Mike Brown. Oh yeah, and he always seems to
wind up getting fired at some point, but he just
got a new contract, so it's getting fired with a
lot of money. When he was with the Lakers, when

(04:06):
they fire him like five games into a season once,
was it five?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah, it was something like that, something very small.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
Like it was five five games?

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yeah, yeah, they had enough.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Yeah he he Listen, he's the new Mike Woodson.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
You know, you know, the new Mo Cheeks.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
There's always a handful of guys who kind of just
the league says, we like you. And you know, Doc
Rivers is gonna be like that if he whether he
you know where you just get to bounce around. You'll
go somewhere two three, four, you and to go away
and then come back a year and then come back,
and you're just gonna do that. Mike Brown will for
the next fifteen to twenty years of his career.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
I don't think he was wrong what he was saying
about Fox cost him that game.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
I know it was.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
You know, people didn't like that he kind of put
them on Front Street because they lose on a four point.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Point play at j n Ivy with the Pistons.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
I think that's Here's the thing though, at that point,
you know what it is.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
The writing's on the wall, so you kind of just
say whatever I got.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Say, let me get my piece, let me just speak
my piece, because this is it, you know what I mean.
This ain't a surprise today him getting fired. I guarantee
you His agent was like, yo, man, this probably was
gonna happen. But the only thing is he had a
full practice today.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Did you see the video?

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Even that practice.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Somebody gotta practice him. Somebody gotta get it right here. Look, hey, Rob,
the games don't stop. Yeah, but you could have you
could have fired when since when they start being all
empathetic and heartfelt.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Go ahead and do practice, and then we'll get read
of you.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah, go ahead practices. Hey, we're trying to do coach,
get it. He'll get until tonight.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Okay, uh yeah, no Mike yet, go ahead practice him
up real quick to the new guy.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Get here and with the.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
First husband and wife coaching team, right, Doug Christy, Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Yeah, I don't do that. I told you she gonna
find us.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
That's right, she gonna find that is what listen is
a hand Miko what's her name? Miko rhymes grimes. I mean,
she's one of them. I don't play with. It's a
handful of wives. They are not about them games. And
Doug Christy wife act like she want to throw hands.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
I remember he got into a scrap, but she came
out of the stake out.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Stands was ready to get to beat somebody down a tunnel. Yeah,
don't play all right, No, Just so you got DeShawn Jackson,
who of course had a kind of a wild up
and down career in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
One minute, you know his Pro Bowl.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Next minute, you're like, dude, why are you always making
these crazy mistakes?

Speaker 2 (06:21):
But all of a sudden.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Now, man, he is in a position where he's gonna
be getting his coaching on and so, uh, this is
something we're starting to see that this this trend, if
you will, starting to happen in and around the NFL
where these ex players are starting to get these big gigs,
well these not big gigs, but getting these gigs with
these historically black colleges. And Deshaun Jackson is just the

(06:42):
next one to do so. And for me, he's gonna
be at at Delaware State. Fy, I want to make
sure I say that he's gonna be at Delaware State.
I have not known Deshaun Jackson to begin his coach
on and I'm not gonna say that he hasn't been
coaching around LA where I know is obviously he's from
and I know it's you know, kids are in school
whatnot here.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
So I don't want to make it like he's not
doing something.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
But that's a big get to just all of a
sudden become the head coach of a school in Delaware State.
But we're starting to see this. They said that he's
a perfect fit for their institution. You saw what coach
Prime did at Jackson State, won a couple of games there,
you got Eddie George, who's guy to Tennessee State to
the FCS playoffs this year.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
So this is what's happening. And I think.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
What ends up happening, Robin is that this ends up
being a win win for both.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Right, you're DeShawn Jackson.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
I didn't go through the top notch high school ranks
to then this ranked then assistant coach or wide receiver coach,
and then but they get to go and coach somewhere.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
And yes they don't have the longest background.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Now Deon Sanders had a little bit more, obviously, but
you get these guys that bring a name that maybe
bring some assistant coaches that are other former NFL players
allowed what Deon Sanders is doing, and now you've got
some big names around your school. And you and I
both know a lot of these historically black colleges. Their
sports programs are hurting, they're losing money, they need to

(08:09):
be subsidized at times, they're struggling to you know, go
obviously get big recruits, because if you're a great kid,
let's say you're African American, amazing five star recruit, where
you go to Ohio State Alabama, Florida.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
You don't go to Delaware State. You're going to Tennessee State.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
And that's what made coach Prime such a big deal
with him getting his own son obviously, and then also
getting Travis Hunter.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
So the issue only thing I have is I would advise.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Delaware State Tennessee State, as we saw happen at Jackson State.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Use it for what it is.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Get the Shawn Jackson, get the notoriety, maybe get some
bigger recruits than you would normally get. But please have
a succession plan in hand, because they're not gonna stay long.
They might tell you they are, they might tell you
all I'm here for the lung. I don't think most
will because the rest of the college world is gonna
call right if he go. Was there any successful in
two years, maybe somebody says, hey, come be an assistant

(09:03):
coach from me at USC.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
You're from LA, we'd love to have you here. You
can help us get local LA kids, blah blah blah.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
So to have a succession plan, if you're these HBCUs
to me that you're ready to say, We'll embrace it.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
The notoriety of the fame all that comes with it.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
But we're gonna have, you know, some play to ride
the momentum, ride the wave, even when in.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
This case, the Shawn Jackson decides to move on.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
This my issue is, and it's not with just them
going to HBCUs, but the idea that there's no place
for them to go with the big schools and opportunities.
That's what bothers me. Even when you look at Dion,
Colorado was a wasteland like that. That wasn't like he
took over some great program, right, Like, That's the thing

(09:51):
that is is the bad part is we're in these
opportunities for these guys to take over some of these
other big time programs. That's that's the scary part, is
that there's no place for them. I love that they're
going to HBCUs, Okay, and then what right, that's right,
you know what I mean? Like and then what even

(10:13):
Dion's as big of a star as you can be,
two star athlete, coach, prime time you know, and all that,
and the best is Colorado, which which was a down
trodden program, right, I'm serious. If that's for Dion, who
played football as a Hall of Famer and coach exactly

(10:37):
was on television and all the other stuff that he's had,
and that was the best that he could do on
the bigger schools. What's left for the other guys who
really want to be coaches at these major programs?

Speaker 5 (10:49):
The major schools have they have no black head coaches.

Speaker 7 (10:54):
Me.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
It is, it is, it's really crazy. And the problem
with it is to you get a tie, will you
get a guy here or there that they don't. They're
not afforded the bounce back that other coaches are because
we act like Nick Saban is the greatest of all time.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Well, Mick Saban was at a few schools.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
He was at Michigan State, you know what, and he
was already was solid and he goes e was my
point is, they're allowed to build, they're allowed to go up,
they're allowed to go down. He left to the NFL,
didn't have success. They didn't say you can never come back.
He came back. Oftentimes, what happens you get a black coach,
he almost becomes like everything rides on you. You better
not be bad because we're not gonna hire one for

(11:33):
a long time, you know. And it's similar to kind
of what you saw. Not to make it all political,
but like all right, Obama, you better work, you better
be perfect, because if you aren't, we might not get
another one a here for fifty sixty eighty years. And
oftentimes you get these coaches, they go these situations and
it's like, if they don't do well, where's their bounce back?
And I think that's something that listen, you're no coach

(11:55):
is guaranteed he's gonna have success. No coach is guaranteed
every year he's gonna be successful. But the idea that
if it's that go well, all well for you or
someone else coming up under you.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
I don't like that as well.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Yeah, it's it's real. College football is really disappointing. It
just is.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
I mean, it took a long time for black coaches
to get opportunities in the NFL, and it's still in colleges.
It just it's just not close to being enough or
the opportunities there, and and and that's disappointing.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
And it really is. And I get these guys and
want opportunities. We saw it.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
I remember a lot of people thought when they hired
Jeff Saturday, like that was going to be a breakthrough,
all breakthrough for Jeff Saturday. You know what I mean
that ain't gonna happen again.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
I think it's that's why I know Coach Prime might
drive some people crazy because he's you know, he's we
see him so much and they got fatigue of him.
But it's important what he's doing because him making his
team that was one and what one and eight or whatever.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
One in ten, they were the year a couple of
years prior.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Now all of a sudden they won nine, got a
chance to be BYU in a bowl game, have a
Heisman Trophy. One of these things better important because to
your point, you think he would have been afforded a
bigger opportunity. He's creating it and so hopefully that he
has somebody. I guess what I'm saying is has to
blaze a trail. You know, somebody has to do it,
and if it's Deon now, you know you'd be grateful

(13:21):
for that.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
And I'm guessing that these guys eventually would love to
coach either major college or get a chance in the NFL,
and they think that this is the way in I'm right.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Yeah, I mean I also I think it's I do
think to be fair, it's also they get to skip
the line in that I didn't have to go through this,
go through this, go through this, go through this. I
think sometimes it's like, for Dshaun Jackson's kind of cool.
I get to be the head coach fairly out the blue,
if you will, Like none of us thoughts saw this coming,
Deshaun Jackson, Jashon Jackson being a head coach and all

(13:53):
of a sudden he is. So I do think it's
they get to jump straight into leading a team faster
this going to these HBCUs.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
All right?

Speaker 4 (14:02):
Is former NFL players becoming coaches at HBCUs really a
win win.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
For the sport?

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Is it really a win win for everybody? I should say.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
We'll continue that conversation next with you eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six
sixty three sixty nine. It is The Odd Couple on

The Odd Couple, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington, flash Back, Funky
flashback Friday. That is thank you for rocking with us
on this holiday week that everybody's confused on what day
it is, but it is a Friday. We appreciate you
spending some time with us as always, so we are
coming to you lot from the ti rack dot com studios.
We're gonna help you get there an unmatched election, fast

(15:04):
free shipping, free road has a protection and over ten
thousand recommending installers tire rack dot com. Folks, it is
the way tire buying should be. Rob and I are
having a conversation to Shaun Jackson, former receiver in the NFL,
most notably with the Eagles, is now the head coach
of Delaware, state of historically black college and university.

Speaker 8 (15:23):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
And we're having a conversation of you think this is
a good thing for IF sports. You're getting these guys,
these ex stars and Deshaun Jackson, Eddie, George Deon Sanders,
these opportunities to coach. Is it good for the universities
as well? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Rob.

Speaker 5 (15:43):
Who we got Let's start with Mike and Augusta. You're
on the old couple Fox portuiting. What's up, Mike?

Speaker 2 (15:48):
What's up Mike?

Speaker 9 (15:49):
Good either y'all are y'all doing doing?

Speaker 10 (15:51):
God?

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Brother, Happy holidays, real good.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Thanks for checking my call.

Speaker 9 (15:55):
This is a serious subject for me. I'm from the South,
so I have to be careful how word things, because
I've experienced some weird things, you know, growing up here.
But I will say this though, I have mixed feelings
about these athletes because, for one, I applauded them getting
head coaching jobs because I can only think of Deon

(16:15):
Sanders as the only black head coach has a major
university in D one. I could be wrong, but I
can't think of anybody else.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
But on the flip side, there's a few.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
But now, give your point is well taken that that
you have to scratch your head to think of right.

Speaker 9 (16:33):
But on the flip side of that, though, I went
to an HBCUs at Alcorn State, Stephen there Dodonald Driver
and these a lot of these players. That's that's going
back home, so to speak to to black folks, Uh,
they would have considered playing for an eight spec when
they were coming out of high school, but now they're
coming back home because that's the only place they getting

(16:54):
to get an opportunity. So I got I'm I'm kind
of on the fence with you.

Speaker 5 (16:59):
I understand that.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
That was my point about there is no other spots
at some of these other places.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
That's that's my.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
Concern is this is cool, but where are the other
jobs that that other people are getting?

Speaker 5 (17:12):
You know what I mean? Calvin, Yeah, No, I think that.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
I think that he brought up a great point of
you almost feel like and I don't want to use
the first word, but just you feel like seconds, you know, like, oh,
you didn't want me first, so now you want to
come and coach I saw. I get what the caller
uh was saying. It is a tough spot, but I
think but I think the reason why I still said
it's a win win is, look, I know it's not
optimal in the sension you're getting this person because they

(17:36):
desire to be there.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Although you know, coach Prime said.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Do you remember that Ed Reid thing?

Speaker 4 (17:40):
You remember he went around shooting video talking about how
terrible the facilities are.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
I do remember that that was a bad, ugly look. Yeah,
Ed Reid was was coaching at you didn't even start.
He got fired here, he got right, he got he
was getting ready to go there.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
He's making it.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
I came, coach here, look at this, look at that.
Uh and and he was there. I think it was
twenty five days. It was at Bethune Cookman University. Yeah,
he was just talking about the facilities and all of that.
And that goes to my original point. I was saying that,
you know, these schools a lot of times don't have
big money. They don't have they don't have fancy things
to draw players. And for those of you don't know,

(18:16):
when kids, these top recruits go to Texas, it ain't
just because all Texas wins a lot of games. Well, yeah,
a lot of teams win a lot of games. Sometimes
it's the literal of the training facility, the workout facilities,
the you know, the the lunch Cafeccier, like, all of
these things play into a role. That's why they take
him to the fans. That's why these schools put so

(18:37):
much money on.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
But also kids should always remember though, and Travis Hunter
is a perfect example that scouts go where the talent is.
I mean, I know the schools don't sell that, you
know what I mean, But look at all of the
Hall of Famers who went to hpc us, Shannon Sharp. Uh,
I mean you mentioned, yes, Steve mc yeah, uh, Jerry

(19:03):
Rice considered the all time great, the all time great,
you know what I mean. But I'm just saying that
there's there's all these people that's yeah, incredible, and you.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Brought up a great and that's why you're starting to
see like the number one Hooper Cruit go to b Yu.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
He like, I'll go there and make some money. It
don't matter where I go. Y'all gon't come find me.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
By the way, Walter Payton, Michael Strahan, that's a ton
of Jackie Slater, Art Shell, Richard Dent, Steve McNair, Shannon Sharp,
Jerry Rice. You know, as we just mentioned there obviously,
Doug Williams, So, I mean there's a Lim Barney with
with the Lions back back back in the day, and
Nias Williams a Hall of Famer, so Deacon Jones hall
of Famer. So if you're great and you want to

(19:42):
go find town, they're gonna find you. Robert Matthew is
a heck of a player.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
We went there.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
I mean, you know, the list goes on. Squeeze in
a couple of coach in Nashville. You're on the odd
couple of Fox sporituatd what's up, coach?

Speaker 8 (19:55):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 10 (19:56):
Man?

Speaker 8 (19:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (19:57):
Uh, coach football twenty years seasons. And I've always said
through the years talking about black coaches, and not just
black coaches, not just white coaches, but also you know, uh,
it's not just an HBC, it's it's not historically black
colleges that I'm talking about. Listen, I've said it for years.

(20:18):
A lot of these players have played at the highest level,
which is the NFL. They are they aren't interested in stop,
you know, coaching high school first or coaching youth. A
lot of these guys that now are deciding to move
into college coaching and beyond, they they hit they took
the hard knocks of coaching youth football, and even though

(20:40):
they were at the highest of their game paign being
paid a lot of money playing NFL, they they chose to, Hey,
you know what, I'm gonna start with youth, then I'm
gonna go to high school, and then I'm gonna go beyond.
I'm telling you right now. Uh. And it's it's not
necessarily a black or white thing. I want to see
more black coaches for sure at the highest level in college,
in NFL and so forth. But I'm telling you the
next I'm tell you Terry Bridgewater is eventually going to

(21:03):
be a head coach in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Yeah, that's a great point.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
He just he just won a state championship, went back
right to the Lions.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (21:11):
And then Philip Rivers He's gonna be another one that's
gonna be a head football coach in the NFL. But
all these guys started, they started in youth. And then
Nick Hardwick, who was a great center in the NFL forever,
he started coaching youth football, then he started coaching high
school football, and now he's an assistant offensive line coach
for the Los Angeles Chargers. It's it's are are all

(21:32):
these coaches and all these players from the NFL willing
to step down for a little bit, learn grow and
then be head coaches at Notre Dames like Dad has
a black coach and John Foster. Do you know what
I'm saying?

Speaker 5 (21:46):
Right at U c l A Right, Yeah, that's a
good one.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
I'm glad we thought of that too. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Carsons name, Yeah, Carson Palmer just signed on to be
a head coach out here in southern California to high
school as well.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
So you got start to see more of.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
That where these guys want to come, build a program,
build a name, you know, get things situated that he
may know bones about a Carson Bart. He's kind of like,
I'm gonna be here set the president. But then I
want to, you know, keep on moving up that way.
They were hoping it was going to be the Jeff
Saturday of route. Why are you keep going the NFL?

Speaker 5 (22:17):
Because that was so bad?

Speaker 4 (22:18):
It was so bad, Rob g We knew it from
day one, remember, everybody like, oh yeah, all the player,
you don't need to be a coach, you need to
be a leader of men.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
When he won the first game, you remember that.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Again when they put him in the Hall of Fame, right,
they unbelievable did they put him in the Hall of Fame?

Speaker 2 (22:35):
All right?

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Right now comany live from the Tireck dot Com studios.
As always, it is our man, Lamar Mitchell bet MGM,
director of Trading, joining the show, lamar Man, Happy holidays to.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
You, Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, no doubts.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
All is well, do you.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Know what day it is?

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Lamar Because everybody the days between Christmas and New Year's
everybody's been lost, like what do I wear?

Speaker 2 (23:09):
What do I do?

Speaker 8 (23:10):
What do I I believe it because I'm a staway
right now?

Speaker 1 (23:15):
Exactly all right, lamar Man, we won't waste your time
on a Friday. We'll get to it on paper. This
one sounds pretty simple. We've been talking about him for
a while all week too. Sakwon Barkley, as you know,
he leads the NFL and rushing and he's facing the
Cowboys defense that's ranked twenty eighth against the run, although
they've been playing better as of late. But what Jalen
hurts out expecting Dallas to stack the box right, They're

(23:36):
gonna just put eight nine, ten minut in the box
and try to keep this thing close.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Where are the sharps of this one?

Speaker 8 (23:41):
The sharps are, believe it or not, all on the Cowboys.
I mean, they're not having any faith in canny picket.
They're taking this number. Since we open it at ten
and a half, Down to ten, down to nine and
a half, keep going lower, lower, lower. Now we're down
at seven and a half. It's just been the Sharks
have been pounding the Cowboys on this side here. Joe
public is about fifty fifty split on tickets in this situation.

Speaker 5 (24:04):
Here, all right, let's go here.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
The Bengals are three and a half point home favorites
is Sunday and a must win game against the Denver Broncals.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
Makes of sense, okay.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
Only problem is the Natty is oh and seven against
teams with winning records this year, which is tied for
the worst mark in the league. What kind of action
are you seeing on the Bengals in this spot because
they just can't beat any good.

Speaker 8 (24:29):
Teams, you know, Ron, It's pretty funny because the public
is all of the Bengals, you know, slightly two to
one in favor of the Bengals here, but we're looking
at the Sharps to bet both sides of this game.
So this is definitely it's gonna be for the Sharks.
They're gonna come through, or the Bengals are gonna come
through for the Joees. So this is definitely Jos versus

(24:50):
pros in the situation here, all.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Right, Lamar Lamar Mitchell our guest bet MGM.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Now I read a stat today. It really blew my
mind on this one. This is crazy because this ain't time, Brady,
I'm talking about. This is the Bills and they're twenty
three and five in the division since in divisional games
since twenty twenty, which is the best record in the league.
Now you go to the conversely, you got the Jets
that are five and twenty three division games since twenty twenty,
which is the worst record in the league. So I

(25:15):
have to imagine all the betters all over the Buffalo
giving up nine points here.

Speaker 8 (25:21):
No Joe public is about Joe Public's three to one
in favor of Buffalo. So yeah, the public is definitely
a favor of the Bills. But the Sharks have been
to side both sides. We open it up at ten,
and initially with up to ten and a half, then
the public or the Sharks sits to ten and a half,
fit to nine and a half, toix to nine, and

(25:42):
then once we got down to nine, once to eight
and a half, and the Sharps did lay that, And
now we're sitting right back at ten ten points of
this game. So definitely the Sharks that bounced around on
the solid number here, but the public is definitely on
the Bill three to one, knowing what kind of records
the Bills have in that division, AFC.

Speaker 5 (25:59):
Lead no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
Rams Cardinals, That's an interesting game to me from this perspective.
The Rams offense is averaging fifteen and a half points
the last two weeks, and the Cardinals have scored at
least thirty points in three straight games.

Speaker 5 (26:15):
Are you seeing much average much action?

Speaker 4 (26:18):
I should say at all on Arizona plus six and
a half here, because I like Arizona plus six and
a half.

Speaker 8 (26:25):
Rob, you would be the only one that likes Arizona.

Speaker 7 (26:28):
Wow, Wow, No one.

Speaker 8 (26:32):
Joe and the proach do not expect the Cardinals to
play spoilers in the situation. I mean, it's about ten
to one in favored tickets on the Rams and the
Sharks have just bet this number from four.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Sometime when you see a number that high ten to one,
and that's scary.

Speaker 8 (26:47):
Yeah, absolutely, we see the tickets coming that that big
of a difference, where like it's always going to be
the other side. That's usually the way it goes for us.
So the Sharks are definitely on the ram, and the
public is definitely on the Rams at a high rate.
So this is a perfect scenario where you got to
go with the Cardinals on the money.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Line, right, that is tempting. I'm gonna lie six and
a half. That's tempting right there, all right. The Colts
are a weird spot lamar this week against the Giants.
So on one hand, there's six and one out right and
against the spread versus teams with losing records this season.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
But on the other hand, they.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Haven't closed as at least haven't closed as at least
a touchdown favorite in over two years, so them being
seven and a half point row favorites feels a little
like a trap game to me.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Where are the Sharps on this one? Coach Giants?

Speaker 10 (27:36):
The Sharks is definitely on the Giants. When we initially
opened this at eight and a half, they took the
eight and a half, and they took the eighth, and
they're sitting pretty right now laying the seven and a
half or just right there.

Speaker 8 (27:49):
The public, though, is all on the Coats. Nobody expects
the Giants to put up a big fight in this matchup,
they're expecting Giants to lay over and just try to
acquire the number one draft pick.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
Yeah, I just the Giants when I saw what Lamar did,
like good, like decent teams should roll over them. They're
so bad, all right, Lamar. Titans are three and twelve.
We all know that, and that they're trying to lose.
But this week they face the Jags. We're also three
and twelve and they're also trying to lose. So first,
how hard is to set a line when you have

(28:23):
two teams that will prefer not to win? And second,
are you seeing any action on this game at all
in either direction?

Speaker 8 (28:32):
That's a loaded question there when it comes to a
matchup like this where both teams are really showing that
they aren't putting forth their best effort, and what it
looks like we don't see a lot of action on
these games. We limit these games. I mean that the
number has a moved, money really has a moved. No

(28:52):
action from the sharps, no action from the public. It's
just a bad situation. You know, a lot of times
in games like this, they'll bet the total knowing that
the teams are either gonna lay down and not score
any points, which they have in this situation, there's more
money on the under in this game. They don't expect
any scoring this game. So but when you get to

(29:12):
a situation like this, it's a little no action from
the public and the shops.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Yeah, or on the field as well.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
All right, this Sunday Lamark, the Sunday Night game is
a sneaky big one.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
You got that.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Atlanta Falcons Washington Commanders. Now both teams can clinch a
playoff bird with a win and the rest of them
today where four straight Commander home games have gone over
the total, well, six of the past seven Falcon games
have gone under the total. So what kind of action
are you seeing right now? The over under it got
it at forty seven and a half. That's a tough one.

Speaker 8 (29:45):
Yeah, you're right, because we're seeing action on both. I mean,
originally we open it at forty six and a half.
That bet it up to bet it down. The public
is on this total over. The shots have betted over
and under money. We took a large, substantial five figure
bet on the total over, so money is all about

(30:06):
twenty to one in the over. Ticke account is about
four to one and over and like I say the
Sharps have bet it both ways, over the total forty
seven and a half and under the total forty seven
and a half, as low as up to forty six
and a half.

Speaker 5 (30:17):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Game of the week is obviously the Vikings against the Packers.
I've read today that Green Bay has covered four straight
games while Minnesota has covered three straight games, so both
teams coming ryan high. Where are the Sharps on this one?

Speaker 10 (30:32):
Definitely the Start and the Packers on this game.

Speaker 8 (30:34):
Here we open it one and a half. They took
the Packers plus one and a half down to plus one,
bought it back up and now we're sitting pretty sure
at one and a half though, but most of the
sharp money is definitely coming down the Packers. The public
has split on this game fifty to fifty, and they
expect a lot of scoring in this game because they

(30:55):
bet this total up to forty nine, six to one
in favor of the over the forty nine points.

Speaker 5 (31:01):
Fifty to fifty is good for Vegas. That's a good split,
ain't it?

Speaker 8 (31:05):
Absolutely Absolutely I'll be smiling if it comes that way, that's.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
Right, Lamar.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
I do want to say that's it on the games.
But I was down nine games in our pigskin pick golf.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
You didn't have.

Speaker 4 (31:15):
Now, Lamar, I'm up two games. I have stormed back
against Kelvin. Here we go, tell him we got two
weeks left this week, next week.

Speaker 5 (31:27):
There we go.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
All right, Yeah, I appreciate Lamar knowing the day. What's up?
Thank you? Lamar, Hey man half.

Speaker 5 (31:34):

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Okay, I keep being two and three late. That's the
problem that alright, let's go.

Speaker 6 (34:31):
Game number one Chargers four and a half point road
favorites and New England take on the Patriots due Were
you like.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Give me the Chargers. They're trying to get right for
the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (34:40):
Chargers, Yeah, I mean, I gotta take the Chargers too.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
I can't see the pivot the Patriots beating them more
in that game. Okay, I got the Chargers right.

Speaker 6 (34:49):
Game number two, the Denver Broncos in Cincinnati take on
Burrow and the Bengals Bengals three and a half point
home favorites at bat MGM Rob Parker.

Speaker 4 (34:57):
I'm gonna go with the Bengals in this game, even
though they haven't been the good team on seven against
teams over five hundred, they flip the script.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
It's a tough one, but go Bengals because they want
to keep going out right.

Speaker 6 (35:10):
Game number three picks you can pickoff NFL games against
the spread. All these OUs courtesy Lamar Mitchell bet MGM.
Falcons at the Commander's Sneaky Sneaky Game of the Week,
maybe second game of the week.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
Commander's four point home favorites double.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
Are you like Falcons?

Speaker 4 (35:29):
I'm going with the Commanders minus four. You can just
gonna be a blowout.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
I'm I'm trying to make some trying to come back,
all right.

Speaker 6 (35:35):
Game number four, Jets at the Bills, Buffalo ten point
home fans, a big number, rop Parker.

Speaker 4 (35:41):
I'm taking the Jets plus the ten points Bills win,
they take players out late.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
I got the Jets.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Give me the Bills.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
He's really trying to make up ground. Last one game
of the weekend for sure. Packers at the Vikings winner
in line for the one seed in the NFC dub.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
Vikings win and a half point home favorites.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
So you like one and a half, give me the Packers.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
I'm gonna take the Vikings. This is where you get
blown out this week, you know, yes.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
This is where we have. Give me the Packers right

Speaker 4 (36:14):
This is that Lions tinge when you start betting with
your heart, you're hoping that the Lions can somehow win
the division because they need the We're just.

Gonna beat the Vikings, that's all. We gonna beat them.
We'll just beat them last week and the game of
