How much did it cost you?

Speaker 6 (01:59):
It was seventy nine, SENI, Rob, No, you better lie
on second ninety what under a dollar? Don't take it back?

Speaker 1 (02:07):
No, I can't take it back because I don't have
to have seventy five take it back.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
No, no, no, no, no, no no, you're missing the key point
that means it would have cost you a buck fifty
total to have the six in the one.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Yes, but I didn't want to spend that seventy five cents. No,
you know what, if they weren't bad.

Speaker 2 (02:25):

That would be his worst I think Rob G will

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Yeah. If I show you what he got me for
a birthday gift?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Can you believe he had the nerve to buy me
a lion's birthday gift?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
This is great? Let me see this?

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Oh yeah, He's got him a Rob Parker hoodie. It
says Rob Parking on the back, has got a big
old Detroit Lion and Detroit logo Rob G.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
And I'm gonna send this to you guys when you
see this. Can you imagine him buying me this for
a birthday gift?

Speaker 4 (04:04):
I think he's a great birthday about gift buyer. I
think he's a text him and say go up, said
way to go.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Unbelievable. Sorry, wait, wait, are you gonna wear it?

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Like?

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Was there a bettingvae? Like he said if this happens,
you gotta wear No, he just bought it for him.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
But are you ever gonna wear it? When you go
back home or something.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I say home, I said, te yeah, I mean if
they lose, I'll.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Put it on.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
You're gonna have so many people like, hey, man, you
guys are gett him next year. You know that, right,
It's gonna make it worse for you. You're like, man,
I still believe in you guys. You guys are good.
Man speaking a good look like you might have a
good game right here, this Ohio State Texas game and
moving the ball up and down.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Yep, but Ohio State has scored first seven nothing, all right,
all right?

Speaker 4 (04:43):
Speaking of we were talking about the game last night,
penn State. Speaking of Pennsylvania, Man, we were talking about
pressure in playoffs with Lamar Jackson as well last hour
and we're having a conversation of going into the playoffs,
who does it matter the most to what team organization
is under the most pressure? And I started to think, like, man,
it might be the state of Pennsylvania. I think it's

(05:04):
more one team than the other. But the state of
Pennsylvania you got one of these conference I'm start, Rob,
tell me if you feel me with the Eagles, why
they may be under a lot of pressure in this
postseason one. Nick Sirianni is coaching for his life. As
strange as that is when he's the guy who went
to the Super Bowl a couple of years ago, and
he's a guy who has team had a bunch of success,

(05:25):
won a bunch of games this year, so he would say,
why is this guy? Well, as Rob g knows, there's
been a bunch of reports by insiders and execs quite
anonymous who's saying they still believe he's coaching for a job.
If he were to lose and uh the wild card,
he may be out of his job despite having a
great season on paper.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
But it would have.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
To you'd have to see how they lost too, you
know what I mean, Like if there's some player made
some horrendous mistake or something, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
I get that's what we talk about, James Franklin, I
get that. The only difference I'll staying with this one
is what Jack Frankly, we don't necessarily, I mean, ever
made a little inklings about he could be on the
hot seat. But with Nick Sirianni, this was a screaming
that he was on the hot seat. Everybody knew that.
And when you have issues with the star quarterback last season.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
That's so much.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
So they had to sit down and figure this thing out,
and then we started to have turmoil on the inside
where aj Brown and Jalen hurt. By the way, these
are all the things to me that added a little
pressure on the Eagles. You've been to the super Bowl,
you didn't win it. You want to get back, as
you should. You want to get back, but look at
look at Doug Peterson won a super Bowl. He was
out of there two years later.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
So it's it's it doesn't like normally you won a
super Bowl, you know that's gonna pay seven years.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
No, man, coaches and coaches and sports were getting kicked
out easy. No, that's what I'm saying, Like see Frank
Vogel to your point, Frank Vogel thinking I'm about to
be the man. I'm about to do the next ty
Riley's Champlership.

Speaker 8 (06:49):
Right.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
So that's the crazy thing about sports is like you
and that's.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Why and that's why I do understand why if you're
Nick Sirianni, like, there's a chance that you could be
out because this is the turnover that we see now.
Getting to the super Bowl isn't good enough if you
lose or whatever they're looking for somebody else.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of
the problem. That's how it is.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
So I also add pressure to the egos for this.
You had a team that you got all these receivers.
They're not getting the ball enough. They're complaining they're not
getting the ball enough. You have a j Brown having
issues with Jalen Hurts. They seen it have, you know,
acting as if they worked it out, but who knows
if they really did. You went to the Super Bowl.
We all held as you as a team to be like,
all right, it's gonna be one of those teams. And

(07:34):
then you had not a great year last year. I
think how long the Saquan has a historic gear. Here's
a huge one for me. You chose to not sit
them down to make a playoff push, and if you don't,
you wasted a chance for him to break a record.
And I thought that was gonna be a gain.

Speaker 9 (07:49):
You know.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
For me, it was you can have both my cake
as we have cake here and eat it too. I
can get the rushing record if he gonna try to
win the Super Bowl. But if he got hurt, did
he understand that?

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Okay, That's why you can't do it if he goes,
because you couldn't move up in your position right in
the postseason. Let's be honest, if he played and Saquon
got hurt, would.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
He keep his job?

Speaker 8 (08:09):
No?

Speaker 4 (08:10):
I mean, well unless they all agreed. Obviously, if we're
gonna go for it would just shows we're going forward.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
What's the dumbest thing that ever happened.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
I understand that we talked about the inherent dangers of football,
but I felt like you had an opportunity to make
this season season even more special. You winning you never know.
Once you get a tournament, you never know, but that
if you were to win it, you got the war.
He broke the record. I think that would be awesome,
but not.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
To because that's not important to the fans. It's about
winning the championship.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
It really is.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
No one's gonna sit around and go, oh man, we
won the champion We won a super Bowl, but it
would have been better off Saquon.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Also, it wasn't that the conversation. You just be you
for it, that you want a super Bowl without a doubt.
But I'm saying you had a chance to me to
do both. So I think that would also be a
reason why this sucked that we lost. If I were
the Eagles, that man, we we had at least could
have ran for that and we did. So I think
it's gonna be a lot of pressure. Also, I don't

(09:03):
think that fat factors. And I also think a lot
of people view them as the Lions and limessies like
that's the team that can beat the Lions. Uh, and
so a lot of people are like, well, you know,
oh yeah, wait till y'all play the Eagles. Wait till
y'all play the Eagle. A lot of people say, wait
till the Lions played the Eagles. So I think it'd
be just a disappointing team. And then the other one
would be wile. I mean, you just your thoughts on
the Eagles, and then I kind of go to the

(09:23):
next one's are the Eagles under pressure to get back to.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
The Super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
I just think that they're I mean, they're not the
number one seed, right, Okay, so if they don't, are
they able to lose to the Lions and in a
good game, I don't think it will be the end
of the world, Okay, because they're not It's not like
they're number one seed and they won every game and
then they.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Lost in the playoffs minus worth the turmoil, the turmoil
that whining set.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
But that, I mean that can all be a part.
It's a part of it. There's a lot of turmoil
and teams behind the scenes. A lot of times you
don't hear about it. I mean if I've talked to
plenty of players and talking about like what went on
during those championship years, and and they'say, chaos, you.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Wouldn't believe for sure, I mean.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Winning at all, right, and then so you know, it
doesn't come out or nobody talks about it, but there's
pressure on the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
There's no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Yeah, and the only other one I don't think this
is why I say the Eagles more than this, this
one I'm gonna name here. But to me again, it's
similar in the more of the turmoil. What are we
gonna do? Where do we how do we make sense
of this?

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (10:28):
When I look at the Pittsburgh Steelers, because I remember
saying this to me about six seven weeks ago, if
you were called said, well to shoot, I mean, what's
what's the excuse?

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Now?

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Like historically it's been man Ben Roethlisberger's too old. Now, man,
what're we gonna win with Mitch Trubisky. We can't do that, man,
Mason Rudolph get out of here. Remember he got that
meme where he's laid out on the on the ground
looking crazy, helmet off. So now it's like, you got
a Super Bowl winning quarterback. He's the guy you wanted.
You know, you chose to set down justin fields. You
got the defense at the time is bawling. You gotta

(10:59):
run game. That was having a lot of success. Najia
Harris has had thousand plus yards multiple years in a row.
So to me, I was like, Mike Toomland hadn't won
a playoff game in eight years. What's the excuse this year?

Speaker 2 (11:11):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
You You've got the quarterback, you guys want it, you
got the defense, You got to run a game.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (11:18):
Like?

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Why why isn't this working? And I think that's a
fair question. You Again, I'm not saying Mike Thomland has
to go. He's had a heck of a career. I
could make dark Why are we elevating?

Speaker 10 (11:29):
Right?

Speaker 1 (11:29):
What happened here? And and if they lose to the Ravens.
They're not expected to beat the Ravens. They're double the
double digits underdogs. But because the Ravens have been playing
great and they were on a four game skin.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Like, why, that's what I'm saying?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
What went wrong that we've all of a sudden lost
four in a row and now we're adult digit against
the team the Ravens historically Lamar Jackson never really did
good against. So is now it gonna beat us once
already might beat us in the playoffs? Double double digit underdogs?

Speaker 5 (11:56):
Like?

Speaker 2 (11:56):
What the heck is? What went wrong?

Speaker 9 (11:58):
Like?

Speaker 2 (11:58):
What changed five weeks ago?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Because when they were winning the six in a row,
they probably weren't that good? Like they weren't They weren't
six games in a row good and there aren't four
games in a row bad, do you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Like they were over their skis? You know that after.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
When Russell Wilson took over. Then he in the season
six and five, I got you, they were rolling, you
know what I mean? Like, but they still finished ten
and seven and going into the year that's not that
far off.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Did you really think they were twelve wins? The only
issue I'll have with that is I was talking to
Rob g about it. I would rather have then been
ten and seven with Justin Fields, even if it was nine.
But they're still living on that.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
No, no, no, I'm saying, don't hear me out. I'm
being dead, serius. You know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
I have no problem. Mean, when I was wrong, I
still stand on I'd rather have done that to know
what Justin feel like, Okay, I see what I have
in him because you kind of knew the ceiling with
Russell SI like, I know.

Speaker 8 (12:50):
Where he is.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
But the difference was, and this is what you can't
deny is that offense got way better when Russell Wilson
got in there.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
But it was ultimately it did, but it did. I'm
saying he had like a three four week run. Was
more than that.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
It was when they were winning those six games or whatever,
five or six in a row. Go look at the
passes stretch in the field. It was a different team.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Dink or a bomb like I agree with that. He
has one of the greatest deep ball passes still time.
I just but you get what I'm saying, Like, I'd
rather go, all right, I got this kid, who's what
call it twenty five ish?

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yeah, But they've seen him, and if he they really believed, seriously,
what did It makes no sense to go to the
older guy. If you have a twenty five year old
stud who's a long term answer to your problem.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
He would have still been the quarterback at four and two.
But they knew they had a bet.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
That's why I would be disappointed that the season ended.
Like everything they're saying, I get, but that's why it
would be disappointed, Like we did this thinking we would
be getting more, we will be able to achieve more
when we probably would have.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Didn't say if it flipped the other way and he
lost some games at the end and you finished ten
and seven.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
You'll be like he being justin fields, Yeah, justin field
would be like what what what are we doing here?

Speaker 4 (14:04):
I would be like, all right, he's finally got a
year in the belt in a real organization that knows
what they're doing. We might be good next year, you
know what I mean. That's that's my thing. I still
stand on that, Like they made the decision they wanted to.
Obviously you called that, but my thought was I'd rather
have this thing that was working, going, progressing, And obviously
he doesn't have the he's not throwing the d ball
like Russell Wilson does. But but that'd be all right.

(14:27):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
All right, how much pressure are the Eagles and Steelers
under heading into these playoffs? That's what we want to know.

Speaker 2 (15:53):

Speaker 1 (15:53):
H Dre Andre in Massachusetts. You're on the odd couple
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
What's up? What's up?

Speaker 3 (15:59):
Drey?

Speaker 8 (16:00):
What's going on?

Speaker 9 (16:01):
Happy Friday? Thanks for taking the call to me. Gotta
be more pressure on the field up the Eagles and
specifically Nick Siriani. Given how this team has had their
roller coasters since they made the Super Bowl. In those
tough times like last year, people were some thinking about
Nick Sirianni. Is he gonna make it?

Speaker 8 (16:16):
You know?

Speaker 9 (16:17):
Is he still gonna be the Eagles coach? He's going
back and forth with the fans. But Tae Kwon coming
in this year, completely new situation. But that thing said,
they can't have a Dallas cowboy situation. They can't get
embarrassed in that first game. That so there's pressure for
them in Green Bay. They're tried and true. They can
go on the road and win, so they they need
to get this w So Nick care with the Steelers.

(16:39):
You know, the standard is the standard, Tomlin, all these years,
over five hundred, they keep their coaches. They want to
maintain their coaches. Nothing. He can go out get embarrassed.
He's infallible. But but I don't think there's anywhere I
think the Eagles have much more expectations.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
I think so you're right right now in the way
that they handle coaches.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
But uh, if the Steelers lose, which we expect, that's
gonna be nine years without a playoff win.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Like that's starting to add up. Would you agree with that?

Speaker 9 (17:04):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (17:04):
Yeah, no, it's it's it's uh, it starts nine. Is
a fair point to finally kind of say, hey, Mike,
come on up to the office. Like we ain't saying
we let you go, but we are just saying, what's
what's up? What can we do to make this come on? Now,
what's going on? We at some point we want to
be competing with the Chiefs and the Ravens and these
other teams that keep you know, getting the AFC Championships
and ultimately Super Bowls.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Scott in North Carolina, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
What's up, Scott?

Speaker 5 (17:29):
Happy birthday man, Thank you, buddy.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Appreciate it. You know what I mean? Birthday cake living
his best life. I got baby oil next to me,
literally does.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Unfortunately with a cigarette.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
That's right, I did. I did a cigarette too.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
My birthdays said your early birthday.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
You're a Capricorn two Happy birthday?

Speaker 8 (17:50):
Yeah, definitely. I knew it's something about your life.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Are you as cheap as he is? I'm cheap? Only
spread I brought in today? Well I did.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
I said, you splur it too, That's what I said.
And I say, said, he's the cheapest, most splurging this person.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
I know.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Yes, today I bought food in for everybody there. Thank you,
by the way, shout out. Well, I ain't gonna shot
the mind as if they you know, but but yeah,
it was good. I had it in a while. They're
slapping all right, all right, go ahead, what about you guys, gott.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Yeah, the Killers they need to fight of the GM.
They just don't have the talent around the team. They
just finiship, but they don't have the talent. The Eagles,
we're under pressure because we have everything.

Speaker 8 (18:28):
We have the best roster.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
The only two questions we truly have is the quarterback
and the coach, which I disagree with, but those are
the only truly questions that we have everything around us
to set up. And I think the team that's most
underpressured you gotta be the Bills of Josh Salad. You
can't win m VP and not go deep in the
playoffs the year after ye after year, especially when the
second round is most likely gonna be human Lamar. It's

(18:52):
something gotta give.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Well, Yeah, without Scott, we were having a conversation.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Uh, that's a whole We're gonna have that talk a
little bit likelater on as well about some more teams
with pressure and there's there's there's some other teams too,
uh that there are conversations to be hasd So we'll
hit on those a little bit later as well.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
But thank you for the call, and happy early birthday
to him. Yes, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Sunday for Scott Drew in New Jersey. You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Drew?

Speaker 3 (19:17):
Yo?

Speaker 10 (19:18):
Hey, guys, I think it's a lot of Hall of
Fame pressure.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
On Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 10 (19:24):
I know everyone in the media says hall of Famer,
hall of Famer. But if he goes ten years without
winning a playoff game, and keep in mind what he was,
He won a Super Bowl the second year he coached
Ben Roethlisberger, which was how many years? When did Bill
Kawer retire.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
What like a year?

Speaker 10 (19:42):
Two years prior to taking.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Over and something one?

Speaker 8 (19:45):
Immediately?

Speaker 10 (19:46):
Yeah, he won immediately, right, yep? But how long ago
is that Super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Did you get back to one?

Speaker 1 (19:53):
Because you get lost to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers
and that was what twenty what was that ten?

Speaker 2 (19:59):
So think of about yeah.

Speaker 10 (20:01):
But but when you're thinking, I think a lot of
people don't understand how hard it is to make it
to the Hall of Fame as the coach. I mean, Mike,
what's what's his name?

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Denver?

Speaker 10 (20:09):
Who's the Denver coach against? Not in the Hall of Fame,
Tom Coughlin, not in the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Yet that's a great Hey, you got a ground and
Tom Coughlin won couple of Super Bowls.

Speaker 10 (20:19):
Yeah, I mean all of those guys who won multiple,
all of them. Yeah, they're the only I think there's
three to have two that are not in the all
of fame.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (20:30):
To me.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
To me, like, I always believe anybody could probably win
one if the stars aligned, but winning two is something.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
I think Tom on the big The issue is he
didn't have enough regular season success, you know what I mean.
It was like a lot of mid seasons. Okay, nine
and a ninety like that kind of thing. Too super
Bowl no, for sure, But I want to say it.
I'm saying now I'm looking at the reason why they
didn't put him in, meaning if he has not the
best guy, well, people didn't like him. He got he
had to come around towards the end people that did. Yeah,

(20:58):
he really had to turn and check because he won great.

Former NFL quarterback Fox Sports Radio NFL analysts Real Sean
King on X he is Sean King, We're down with it?

Speaker 8 (21:21):
What up, brother, Sean, I got to take a moment.
I'd like to give people they flowers while they living.
One of the best in the businessmen doing it since
Black and White TV. That's your birthday, my dog, rob.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Man, Sean, thank you, thank you, buddy. He Hey, Rob,
he ain't wrong when he's right.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Hey, and and Sean and I go way back, way
back to the Four Letter Network back in the day.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
My god, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (21:47):
I appreciate honesty, goodness. Is there anybody who has not
worked there in his business? We all worked there long time. Elijah,
you worked there too. You might be the only one.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Rob g almost worked there, but he turned the job down.

Speaker 5 (21:59):
Rob.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Yeah, so I forgot. That's right.

Speaker 7 (22:00):
Right.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Hey, let's go here. Hey, Sean, you said it. You
you like Lamar? You thought he was the MVP.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
We saw the all pot No we didn't, he said, Lamar,
didn't you say squin, I.

Speaker 8 (22:15):
Said that race was I said the race was not
over when everybody.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Yes, that's what that's what I remember.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
When everybody was saying Josh Allen were like, no, it's
not over all right, but you saw the vote thirty
first place votes for Lamar, eighteen for Josh Allen for
All Pro. I'm sorry, All Pro, and we already know
how this thing goes. The last eleven guys were All
Pro quarterback won the MVP. You think there's gonna be
any change here.

Speaker 8 (22:43):
I don't. And here's why life is about timing, and
unfortunate for Josh Allen, fortunate for Lamar Jackson. He had
a standalone game at the end of the season on
a Saturday when there were only two contests, and brought
I can see such a great job of highlighting how

(23:03):
significant his production was this year that it really made
a lot of people feel like, you know what I mean, Damn,
how can you not give it to him? And I
think that's what actually pushed him over the ledge.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Yeah, I said the same thing today.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
I remember if I said on Era or talking to
Rob Jerry, I said he was like the Warriors, Josh
Allen blew a three to one lead like it was his.
And then that last little few games Sean where he
didn't perform against the Patriots and he didn't play well
and they barely won and he just didn't look great.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
And then Lamar just kept Lamar and and Lamar won
the division that last.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
Little couple of games and then not playing the last
game for real, for real playing, I should say, Josh Allen,
I think he might have sued his own fate.

Speaker 8 (23:43):
Yeah, and he deserves it. Say Kwan blew his chance
by not breaking Eric Dickerson's record. I think it's be
a lot of years that he looks at that and says, man,
did I make the wrighte this?

Speaker 2 (23:53):
I agree with you. Rob doesn't, but I agree with you.

Speaker 8 (23:56):
I was mad I didn't do it, especially if Philly
doesn't win the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
That's what I just said around. I told him.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
But but you know this, Sean, if they played him
in that game and he got hurt, people would go
crazy in Philadelphia.

Speaker 9 (24:10):
You know that.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Like I know, we can see there and say if
what whatever.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
But in a game where you can't move up, it's
different where Zay Flowers got hurt. Right, But they're trying
to win a division, right, You're not resting anybody. Patrick
Mahomes didn't play in the last game, and most of
their started set because they couldn't move up anywhere. They
secured the number one spot, right, I'm just.

Speaker 8 (24:34):
Saying you're playing your former team. Sometimes right is right,
wrong is wrong when you get a chance to go
down in the history books, Like think about when the
last time Eric Dickerson was a National Football League player,
And that record has stood for that long. It's not
like it's one of these records that's been broke by,
you know, four or five times in the last decade.
This has stood since Eric Dickerson played, all.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Right, I thought to ask you about Mike, and I
think they've lost the eighth. They haven't won a playoff
game in eight years. Does he have to win a
playoff game? I mean, I know they're playing the Ravens,
but say they lose like most people expect the double
digit underdogs, and they lose to the Ravens or whatever.
Do you start to look at Mike Tomlin, like, what's

(25:17):
going on here? How come you haven't won a playoff
game in nine years or not?

Speaker 8 (25:21):
I don't because I don't have the data right in
front of me. But I don't remember them being favored
in very many of those games. It's not like he's
coming to these playoffs with the better team, like Russ
is struggling right now and this is still the best
position they've been in a quarterback in a long time.
So I think Mike has helped Pittsburgh teams overachieve. I

(25:42):
have a bigger issue if they were big favorites and
a lot of these playoff losses and lost, like they're
almost ten point favorites tomorrow ten point zero.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Yeah yeah, so no, that's been that's big in a
playoff game.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
But that's divisional divisional team Sean, that's a lot of points.
Let me ask you this, it's the same game steal
As Ravens. I've heard some people, a lot of quarterbacks,
a lot of offensive analysts around They've been saying like,
maybe why wouldn't they use more They did it a
little bit in the very beginning, but justin fields more
just to throw teams off like he because Russ doesn't

(26:16):
run anymore, so he kind of they started to know
what he is and the people are questioning, hey, throw
him in six seven player, kind of like how the
Saints stayed with U Hill.

Speaker 8 (26:25):
I believe the twos doesn't have emotions. So if Colland
had hired me to coach the quarterbacks in Pittsburgh, my
conversation with Russ would be this. Listen, I need the
best version of Russ. You can't win the ball. He
ran the ball in the game they played. Remember he
ran and fumbled at the goal line.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yep.

Speaker 8 (26:43):
Like, there are are opportunities for us to use his leg,
he chooses not to. Like, I'm gonna tell us I
don't want check down, Charlie. I want you to be aggressive.
I'm gonna call the aggressive game. I want you to
push the ball down the field. I want you to
take some chances. We got to get George Pickens involved
from the very first series.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Didn't he drop two balls? I mean, he didn't play well.

Speaker 8 (27:05):
So wat's this. You gotta know your personnel, right. Pickens
is a guy that gets emostally hijacked. Right, So the
worst thing you can do for a player like Pickings
is go the entire first half and he only get
one target, which by the way, was a screen pass
on the first player of the game. They did not
throw the ball to that young man the entirety of
the rest of the first half. You know he's gonna

(27:26):
get in his feelings when that happens. So you can't
expect him to be a mature kid because he's not.
And come out and just say I'm gonna just stick
to it and when it come out way. No, you
gotta get him involved early. You got to give him
emotionally in the right place. Russ cannot do what he's
done in the last three four games. It's a drop
back and immediately look for the checkdown to the running back.

(27:47):
He's got to play the quarterback position at a high level.
And I would tell Russ if I don't like what
I'm seeing after the first couple of drives, we are
going to go to Justin for a couple series and
see if we can get a spark.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
Yeah, I've heard starting to hear a little more rumbling
and grumblings about that from some analysts talking about that.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Let me ask you this.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
We've got the Rams game now that has been push back.
You got the Rams Viking is going to be in Arizona.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
What do you make of that?

Speaker 10 (28:14):
Do you?

Speaker 2 (28:14):
I mean, obviously they had no choice, but do you
if you're the Rams, how do you handle that?

Speaker 6 (28:19):
Now?

Speaker 4 (28:19):
When we're excited to come in here, we got a
home game and now that whole thing has changed within
the last few days.

Speaker 8 (28:25):
Well, first of all, players, everybody in California, they come
back to them effected by the weather. This is a very,
very very detrimental occurrence for the Rams because for the
first time in a long time, they have started to
create a home field advantage. The city of Los Angeles
has started to really support the Rams. You look at
their last couple of home games and that crash. They're

(28:46):
making it difficult. Now, all of a sudden, you got
turmoil within the city of LA with the weather, and
now people got to try and find a way to
get to Phoenix. I don't think it's going to be
the same atmosphere. I think that's just what Minnesota needed.
I think Minnesota wins now very unfortunate for the Rams.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
But the Rams have been struggling offensively. You got to
admit that too.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Like they won one game where they had four field goals,
another game with just one offensive touchdown. What's been going
on with Matthew Stafford in the offense, It's been a struggle,
Like three of the last four games.

Speaker 8 (29:20):
I think they they really become a really good running
team with Karen Williams, and they haven't been able to
get the running game going the last couple of games.
And because of that, the pass rush has gotten Stafford.
But I think they had Minnesota in the right spot.
Remember Sam Donalds coming off for the worst game he's
played all year, and with that home crowd and the noise,
I thought they really had a chance. But going to

(29:42):
Phoenix it won't be the same environment. I expect Minnesota
to win if to your court, to your point, they
have to establish Karen Williams in that run game. Their
explosive players come off with a play action and all right.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
You got any picks for the weekend? Real quick? Squeeze man.

Speaker 8 (29:58):
I think Tampa routes Washington. I am baker week bus.
I think Tampa rous wasathingon w Washington's had a good season.
I think they've gotten Cliff Kingsbury, probably another head coaching opportunity,
James Dan's rookie of the year. The command has been
leaking all the last couple of weeks. Exposed of them.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Yeah, I'm with you on that one.

Speaker 4 (30:16):
If we picked Tampa, we discussed that, uh yesterday. I
think the offense is just explosive. All right, Well, Sean man,
be smooth, have a great weekend. Man football hopefully.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
In the street, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
It's a little it's kind of on streaked times out
here in La right now. Unfortunately I was asked Rob
the same thing. Are you gonna hit the street nowhere tonight?
It's just yeah, it's kind of obviously with the real
life's going on right now. Thanks Sean all right. Appreciate
Sean King joining us. Hey, the worst acquisition in sports history?

Speaker 8 (30:48):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (30:49):
We'll tell you, Rob Parkers, I'm just asking me and

What was that flexing on? Haji kids had white hadge hook?

(31:55):
What's doing that? Yeah? Wait wait wait what you know?
Why wait you really thought that was you? That's not me? No, no, no,

I'm not just.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
In the streets. He's for the streets. Let me tell

Let me tell you before until the day I die
and she died, he ain't never about to tell you
happy birthday now, Tony Washington, ain't never about to tell
you have birthday now. I don't care if it's in
person and you look at and we're at your party,
she's gonna be like, hey, Rob, she ain't say happy birthday.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
I'm gonna hide my wife out there.

Speaker 8 (32:43):
You think.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
You don't ever do that. You don't have to. I'm
the nicest guy. I don't have to worry about it.
You ain't coming to no for more birthday party.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
That's it. I know you ain't invited no more. I
walk around here, going to get some food or something.
I see you over there talking to her. Hey, you know,
uh yeah, yeah, you know it's good.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
I'm a has been doing the right on the show.
You know what I think about him minute. I just
want you to know. You know, I've been in the
business thirty you know, I've been in the business.

Speaker 5 (33:06):
You know.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
You know I've been coming to the NBA since nineteen
eighty seven. I'm just thinking, like, yeah, I know, I listen.
I'll listen to the show. She wouldn't listened, though. When
we start yelling at each other, she hates it. She
turns around.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
What she said, oh, Lily like hey, or she'll go, uh,
I was the show. I stopped listening. What y'all yelling
at each other? Really?

Speaker 2 (33:27):
People, people?

Speaker 4 (33:28):
Hey man, I was listening. You guys were you know,
pick one on the topic. Then you guys like like
you guys like really hate like what like, are you
guys okay? And I'm you know, I'm like, wait, what
will you know? I mean, now again, I want to
bust you in the head. But hey, hey, Alex g
could tell you, I know, did Chris and I have
knockdown dragouts? Man? All right, so when we have ours,

(33:50):
we've had, we've had we ain't really had, Like I
don't know what happened.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
We've had not.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
I'm just saying, but if it's always with respect, it's
just over the topic, that's not it's not personal.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
It's okay.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
But I've had a couple of people at work, because
you know, people have spectrum listen, They're like, oh, man,
I love you guys talking about this?

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Are you guys like do you like him? That seems
like a junk.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
But my wife will cracked me up. Oh yeah, I
was listening to you. Ill started yelling all right, Uh,
you know who's yelling to the heavens right now? What
did I do to deserve this? Deshaun Watson and Rob
g now is reported in tours Achilles.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Again, well, I.

Speaker 7 (34:27):
Didn't want to make light of the situation, but we
know what he did to deserve it, you know, I
just I'm not saying I think you're talking about the
Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Fans are wondering what they did well.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
According to him, he would say allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, this
may go down as the worst acquisition in sports history.
And if you say why or say how, I will
tell you Deshaun Watson getting two hundred plus million dollars guaranteed.
This wasn't maybe a year or two after his rookie year.
This was in the middle of the scandal. This was

(34:56):
in the middle of the issues. This was in the
middle of all of that. And they didn't just sign him, right,
We've seen the NFL sign people who, you may who
have character issues or character flaws. That's nothing new. Greg
Hardy got a deal. You guys running around with jobs
and careers with you know, have assaulted women or this,
that and the other.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
No, this was in the middle of that.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
That gave him guaranteed money that we had never seen before,
not Tom Brady, not paidon And the other owners are like,
why would you do this, not just this particular guy,
but give him this kind of guarantee money because he's
really really good at the time, but he ain't even
the best. So what is Patrick Mahomes gonna ask for
what is Lamar Jackson gonna ask for what is you know, uh,

(35:39):
Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, who are gonna say, hey, I
want that money?

Speaker 2 (35:42):
What money? That does Sean Watson money? Then he gets injured.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
Obviously you know that some of the fan base are
still upset about signing him because of all the drama
that came with well now injured again.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Never got anyone he played, He didn't even look good.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Terrible, but he did, right, we work his contract to
open the team and then and then the Achilles again.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
Man, right, I mean, horrible time for him. Horrible.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Uh you know, last few years aout somebody, somebody's career
and life taking going left.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
This went like where left he was a baller with
the Texans MVP candidate. I thought, you know, the the
the careers on the way up, and now this so
and you remember and then not to mention, he was
getting booed when he was getting carted off, remember.

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Rob, Yeah, that that was tacky.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
They're booing him when he was getting carted off. So
it's just yeah, I mean the brown and this is
why and I mean it sincerely. Where like you get
organizations where people get it. Oh, that's the such and
such just being such and such. In this case, that's
the Browns being the Browns. Rob g cover your ears.
That's just the Raiders being the Raiders. To be fair,
that's just that's just the Lions being the Lions for

(36:53):
so long. You know they did while they signed Hey,
why do they not draft this guy? Why would they
do that? And so the Browns just continue to make decisions.
And we talked about it. We were having this conversation earlier.
Baker Mayfield is having the last life because Baker Mayfield
can mess around and win a playoff game or two
this season.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
You never know. Baker Mayfield got a bunch of money.
Y'all had me. I want a playoff game, and y'all
didn't want me. And he played the next year with
an injury and they held it against him. I thought
that was the worst part with the Baker Mayfield. He
was hurt and he played, he did and then they
let him go.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
That's why sometimes when you and I are broke from
the same page, sometimes you got to look out for yourself.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
A lot of times, that's the saying sports.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Don't turn the doll even though we'll be yelling at
each other in the next hour.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
I like to tell your wife to turn to keep
the radio. Turn start yelling at each other. Sports radio
