Funky Cole Madina. Yeah, in studio, will go over and
talk about the NBA All Star reserves that were named

(01:19):
today announced, So we'll do over that and some other
NBA stuff and the trade deadline coming up and all stuff.
NBA will be in studio for a couple of segments.
We'll do that and then we have less call. So
we'll do that for that, Uh allegation in the NFL,
let's do it? Can you spell it out?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah? So justin Tucker Man, you know, he had a
shaky season. You remember that, you already know.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
And I was thinking, I was like, didn't he have
an off season?

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Like like early on? He cost him a couple of
games when we.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Talked about that the internet is going Internet, So yeah,
he cost him a couple of games. He was off
this season and a lot of people are kind of
like Man, so he's one of the greatest time. Thus,
people were kind of concerned what's going on, especially on
a really good team that had high hopes. So well,
he has been accused of inappropriate behavior with massage therapists
there and it's not one, no, no, no, There are

(02:10):
several a massage therapists that have had him in this
so you have the six of them in the Baltimore area.
This is according to an investigation by the Baltimore Manor,
and his conduct, according to this article, has called some
therapists to refuse to work with him again. He's resulted
in two spas rob that have banned him from returning
This isn't just like one lady, you know, some bad

(02:31):
thing when you got spas banning you. Something's going on.
And the allegations are reportedly from twenty twelve to twenty sixteen,
his first five seasons in the league. He has denied it.
He said he has never been accused of quoting him here,
I've never been before been accused of misconduct of any kind,
and I have never been accused of acting inappropriately in
front of a massage therapist, or during a massage therapy session,

(02:53):
or during other body work.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
He said that on his expost.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
So, and we always say a person is innocent into
proven guilty. So we're not here to tell you that
Justin Tucker is guilty of anything. Okay, but these are
the lawsuit this is There was a quote from the
NFL and a quote from the Baltimore Ravens, So you
know they're going to look into this, investigate, and they

(03:18):
take all of these claims seriously. When somebody hires a
lawyer and they go down, you know, like you have
to at least it might prove that it is not
enough evidence or whatever it is, or whatever the case
may be.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
But we we talked to Sean Watson.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
So we're going to talk about justin just being fair
and I want to go and we talked with Sean Watson,
got a little in the weeds.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
What I got to tell you some here is here's
the allegation.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
So the banner again that that's the Baltimore Bank, Baltimore banner.
They said that we got the investigation when they got
a tip back on January ninth.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Of these six mesos therapists.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
As we talked about les that he exposed is genitalia,
he brushed two of them with his exposed genitalia and
left what they believe to be when you know, things
happened on the massage table. Uh so it's it's graphic.
You know, this isn't just like some random thing. And again,

(04:14):
so now here we are where we've had these conversations
about de Shaun Watson, now we're having about Justin Tucker
and a lot of people. The big conversation is same energy,
same energy. And then I'll say this to you.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
You know this as a newsman, you can't write that
story to Baltimore Bannon with one person. No, the idea
that they have six different and was like to Deshaun
Watson started out off.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
You're like, well, okay, okay, boom boom, and then before
you know it's like thirty some odd like this is
the Bill Cosby story.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Ye started example same thing and it wound up being
sixty some odd women and people go, oh, well, where
what day the last ten twenty years? Well, what happens
is people hear the story on the news and they
go golden, guess who wasn't alone? That happened to me too, right,
And that's what happens. That is what people don't understand
at the time. They don't make a big deal about it,

(05:09):
or they just kind of say, well, that was awful,
I don't want to do have experience that again. But
when you start reading about it in the paper and
realizing this is a pattern of behavior, that's where people
come out of the woodwork.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
What happens is you mentioned it.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
People becoming bold and they're like, Okay, if that woman
is telling her story, you know what gives them strength
to do it, or that man is telling the story
gives them strength to or again they thought I was alone,
like I thought it was just me. Was it a
weird moment? Maybe I overreacted, and maybe I don't, maybe
I did somebody there's something about me that let him
think that was okay. And then you start to hear
the story and you say, oh, man, well clearly this

(05:43):
is a behavioral thing and I wasn't alone. Again, mind you,
these are all alleged. We'll make sure we say that, yes,
but some will say where there's smoke, there's fire. And again,
this isn't just the one he says, she say, where's
kind of getting a little I can't quite make sense
of this.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
One is hard is hard?

Speaker 4 (05:58):
One is hard right, because it's become his word versus hers.
You have six that's as of today, to your point,
could be more. This is a five year span because
what we saw with Deshaun Watson he kept going to
different massage therapist.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Remember he was like dozens.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
It got like who goes to difference, Like, hey, you
get your one or two or three, that's it and
if you get somebody who's really good.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
So then it got weird with DeShawn, like why is
he going there? Why is he going there?

Speaker 4 (06:24):
And then in this case two places banning him makes
it strange to me like two, uh, you know, massage
therapists and places banning him. Not a person who says, hey,
I have an issue and it's maybe that one life
you can't come in here or no, that is very telling.
If it's one person, maybe there's a misunderstanding. Maybe you know,
just something happened. Okay, when you have places that are

(06:46):
banning you, that's troublesome.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
That's concerning.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
And if at minimum maybe there so he's conducting himself
in a let's I say it wasn't fully what they've said,
then he's conducting himself in a way he shouldn't that
this is happening because I just told Bree, what.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Did I say?

Speaker 4 (07:04):
I gotta go do I got just told you I
gotta go get the massage, I said. But if all
of a sudden this place in that place and this
is a place, that's a concern, like what's going on there?
So but again you mentioned desaon Watson, it's gonna be
interesting to see now that this is.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Out here, because because there's someone else that says to
rail his career with out he ain't been right since
he has not been right since.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Whether it's the Tiger Woods effect that maybe you are
okay physically, but mentally feel seen and you just don't
perform the same if.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
You lost them.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
He was a pillar of the community in Houston, without
a doubt, without a doubt, and then he got the
he and then even still got the big time money
from Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
But just hasn't been right.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Whether it's just he can't get it out of his head,
he just feels, you know, just lost his game, whatever,
but just ain't. Somebody might scream karma. He ain't been
right since Rob that's not sure. And this, uh, justin
Tucker's story just interesting.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
If people brought it up. The kicking someone had a
good point.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Their point was obviously in and of itself, doesn't mean
all of a sudden you're not good at your job.
But when you have that hovering over, you know, might
drop any day.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Now, there you go.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Now that they know he knew that they were investigating him,
he's lawyer.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
He is.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Because they because they called both the Ravens and they
called the NFL.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Right, this is not like they just found out.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Any newspaper that's doing an investigation is gonna make calls,
gonna go visit the places, talk to the employee. You
want to make a comment. Is what we were reporting
on its an investigated piece is not hearsay. Somebody called
yesterday and they wrote a story that that piece.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
You can't write like that.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
So we'll see how this plays out of The league said,
of course that they're aware of this, uh, and then
they're gonna know that they're going to further investigate this. Again,
to be fair, he has denied all wrongdoings. What the
social media to say?

Speaker 1 (08:58):
And I get it, you got family and and you know,
it's it's embarrassing to have that.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
I mean, that's almost expected, Like he's not gonna be like, yo,
you got me. Even assuming if he's right, meaning he
didn't do anything, he's going to defend himself. And if
he's wrong, he's gonna descend himself until he has to
come clean. That's just kind of par for the course.
But you know, the NFL, obviously it's gonna be celebrating.
This is next week, you know, getting leading up to

(09:24):
the big game, and you're excited about it. Obviously this
is a story that they don't want, uh. But it's interesting.
Rob He's on a team that many thought could make
the Super Bowl. This could have been it would have
been crazy. We're on our way to New Orleans.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Right, this is the topic as if it's NS Eagles,
if they finally you know, like the reason the story
dropped is they finally I've been involved in like stories
where they got to go to the newspapers, lawyers and stuff,
they got to you know all that, Like, they're not
going to leave themselves open to a lawsuit, so they
have to make sure that they have the sources, have

(10:03):
all the information everything so that when they come back
and try to sue you for or or something, you
exactly and your age and your layals don't say that
you can't use this, can use that, you can use this.
And they go through a really really with a fine
tooth comb. So all right, uh, we got coming up.

(10:24):
Mark Funky Cole Medina, Yes, we see him over there
talking to Manti. Right, we're gonna do that coming up now,
that's right. It is the odd couple on a TV

we just skipped the wife going after the kids. Yeah,
see how that works out? No, but it was see.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
How that works. I think whoever wrote it was single.
Just the wait note his boy el Roy, daughter Judy.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
That's a good question that somebody asked that one say,
it's your wife, your mother, and your kids.

Kevin's got it, So what's up?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Buddy's good to see you. Glad that you could drop by.

Speaker 7 (12:27):
Yeah, there's another Rob Parker special Predictions Gone Wrong where
you said I would not be in studio and not
only have I been here once, I've been here twice.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
One hundred percent. But you didn't bring cheesecake with you.

Speaker 6 (12:40):
No, I thought. I thought I was going to collect
bets here?

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Is that now?

Speaker 7 (12:44):
I don't want to get in trouble. I know some
NBA guy has been investigating.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
That conversation.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Well, you know, what is a couple of things you
want to talk about? We want to talk about Bronnie investigation.
We're talking about the All Star reserve, the deadline Jimmy Butler.
So let's get all all So I think the Lakers
are blowing out the Woods is let's go real quick.
Broni's getting some playing time. I know he missed the layup,

(13:11):
just shot an airball three. We already know. People are
piling on. You've seen him. People say he's not an
NBA player, And is that fair or not?

Speaker 6 (13:20):
Yeah, I think it's fair.

Speaker 7 (13:21):
I mean, there's a reason why he hasn't played most
of this season, and when he has played, it's being
the G League team or it's been a mop up duty.
And so when it was at that point, I'd have
a problem with it because he is a player that
has a good attitude, has good work habits. So it's
under the guys of he just needs to get better,
but not with the professional team.

Speaker 6 (13:41):
That's fine.

Speaker 7 (13:42):
I didn't understand why he's getting minutes against the Sixers. Yeah,
this is when the game is still close. It's just
before Anthony Davis got hurt. No reason for him to play,
even if it's oh, it's a regular season game in January.
He shouldn't be playing this point unless it's the end
of the game. And the Lakers are either blowing a

(14:03):
team out or getting or mark.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
He's just not on the team. He's just staying with
the G League. He's just getting better luck. He's just
you know, what I mean, is I know, but what
you get what I mean. He's just down there ball
and doing his thing, taking his bumps and bruises and
playing down there. The other night, dunked on somebody, caught
a body, as the kids say, put up thirty, Like,
why can't he just be there developing, been growing and

(14:28):
going through the odds and the ups and downs of
you know, trying to become a pro. Because listen, he
lost time obviously at USC. Wasn't that great at USC,
by the way it looks he was. He was good
at high A lot of people don't think he wasn't,
you know, he wasn't one of those ones, and even
in high school. So to me, it's not that I'm
not saying projecting his NBA future now, but what I'm
saying is currently right now, you just said it. He's

(14:49):
not the VENBA guy. Why do you think he's not
just going through there? We already got the high five
Dad in some play moment early in the season. My
prediction to Rob was they'll do it for six seven
games when you know, because then the G League starts,
he'll go down.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
So I was half right. He went down, half wrong and.

Speaker 6 (15:08):
Be playing prior to the Sixers game.

Speaker 7 (15:11):
The Lakers rationale, beyond the obvious fact that Lebron James
on the team, is that if he's with the team
on road trips, he can get further exposed to what
it's like to be on a professional team in film sessions,
you know, getting some.

Speaker 6 (15:25):
Feedback in practices.

Speaker 7 (15:27):
I was buying into this whole thing up until the
Philadelphia game.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
I didn't because I'm buying I'm sucked.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
You're buying it only because I didn't think it produced
that much harm. I mean, there were a lot of people,
including Rob, that had a problem with the Lakers drafting Broady.
And the only reason why I was okay with it
is I didn't think it did any significant deal.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Yeah that the drafting people.

Speaker 7 (15:49):
That would say, oh, it took up a roster spot,
you could have drafted someone later in the draft, and
two things with that, later in the draft, most likely
you don't find someone that's ready anyway, So what's the point?
And two yes, he takes up a roster spot, but
even when you account for flexibility, usually can't do those things.
But I was all the way through there until the

(16:09):
Philadelphia and that did not make any sense. That he's
getting minutes when the game's still on the line and
he's not ready about.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
All right, let's go to Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah, I think he's just it's hard for anybody, I think,
to back him being unprofessional. You could be unhappy, not
want to play, show up to work, play for your teammates,
and then play the rest of the year. You already
made your case. Pat Roddy doesn't want to pay you
make your care. Okay, I'm going to play the rest
of the year and then opt out and go find

(16:38):
your joy somewhere else. But he's owed fifty two million
next year, so he doesn't want to opt out. He
wants them to trade him somewhere and then have a
new team give him another one hundred and ten million dollars.
I mean, yeah, do you see that happening.

Speaker 7 (16:51):
I don't see it happening. He wants the ultimate, wants
the cake and eat it right. And here's the ironic part.
It's not like he's entering this past season where or
he doesn't have a contract, or oh he's going to
be a free agent next summer, he's still guaranteed if
he exercised that player.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
Off for next season to be with the Heats.

Speaker 7 (17:08):
So I'm with you one hundred percent that I think
every case of a team and an upset star player
is circumstantial. But in this circumstance, Jimmy Butler's entirely in
the wrong. He's had an injury history. Yep, he hasn't
played as well as he has in the past. So
even when you credit him, WHOA, let's stop this segment.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
Let's stive it.

Speaker 7 (17:31):
But with Jimmy, even though you got to give credit
for his role with the Miami Heats to NBA Finals runs,
his injury last season is his injury. So why would
the Heat devote anything beyond next season?

Speaker 6 (17:43):
Doesn't make any It doesn't make sense.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
In my I don't disagree with a single thing you said.
My only thing I was saying a couple of things.
One you know Mark, but they also do this is
what Jimmy does. Give him two three years somewhere. It
just happens. He wears people, RUPs people the wrong way
wears them down and this happen. So you have two guys,
him and pat with the ego thing. My other thing
is pat Riley has created a situation where he is

(18:06):
trying to compete with championship. Right, that's what the heat,
that's what they want to be about. They they've won
in the past, they should be about that. My thing is,
this is ugly, this is hurting the team. You've seen
it every day. What do you think about Jimmy not
playing Tyler hero is gonna answer questions and you should
be trying to say, all right, you know what, Let's
find the best option so we all can move on,
so I can get Eric Sposer, the best guys out

(18:26):
there compete. That was my point, not that Jimmy is
right or wrong. It was I'm looking at pat Riley as.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
But I'm glad that pat Riley stood up to this
seriously and make Jimmy Butler right, because they're not gonna
get a deal because the only deal they could have
made right for the bial but new ones coming around now.

Speaker 6 (18:44):
I couldn't even have done that because Bill hasn't know and.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
I'm gonna say it because of that, right, I was
gonna say like they wanted him, but Bill's like, I'm
not and they old Bill beal like still one hundred
and fifty million, and I.

Speaker 6 (18:56):
Don't even think Miami won him because of the injury.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Right, yeah, all right, it's gonna be a lot of money.
It's gonna be a lot. What else do we want
to talk about? I think we could take a quick break, Yeah,
quick break, get an.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Updated and whatnot. We're not going anywhere. We still gotta
talk some All Star. We still gotta talk this Terry
Roseier in this gambling ring.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
We'll talk that with Mark Funky Comdina here in just
a moment right now, is what's trending with Mancy By?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
What are you doing?

Speaker 6 (19:20):
Why are you making up names?

Speaker 2 (19:22):
So great too? For weeks? I made it up AM
five O seven even though that will you.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Know, but but yeah, yeah, yeah, gentleman, He's only.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
A news anchor in a town with plenty of Hispanic NASA.

Speaker 3 (19:38):

Speaker 4 (19:50):
Comedy live from the Tyrack dot com studio this doesn't
make it, he says, Mark Madina is here with us,
Mark funky co Modina, what do you make it?

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Like the Wiz, how can you be that bad?

Speaker 6 (20:00):
For sol?

Speaker 2 (20:00):
What have they lost? Seventeen in the rows? Is seventeen
sixteen sixteen?

Speaker 4 (20:04):
That's just like it's almost an impossibility, meaning not a
Pistons lost well twenty, but even that was impossibility. Like,
how do you but the Pistons lost what they lose
twenty seven in the row. It's just but you you
have a night, right, a guy goes off other team's cold.
Some guy in your team hit ten threes and they're like,
that's just ridiculous, And what are you doing there?

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Is?

Speaker 4 (20:25):
Is are they what do they what do they call it?
They're trying to capture the flag for Cooper flag? Is
that what they're doing here?

Speaker 7 (20:29):
I think that's exactly what they're doing. I mean that
this isn't surprising at all because the Wizards they decided
to make some trades lists past offseason. Their main guys
are Jordan pull and Kyle Kuzma, who are by itself
fine players.

Speaker 6 (20:43):
But they're guys those aren't winning.

Speaker 7 (20:45):
They get numbers. They have Alex sar He's a number
two pick. Okay defender, but not polished offensively. So you
combine all that stuff with you know, youth movement and
some veterans that aren't complete players, you get a lot
of losses.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Pretty bad. All right? Can we go there? Go to
All Star All Star A Star.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Anybody gets snubbed right off the top. These are the
subs that we found out. Uh Norman snub.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
That's that's somebody that I feel. All right, So you
got the list there?

Speaker 7 (21:16):
Yeah, yeah, I got the list of the snubs. Here's
here's the thing I was really struggling to see. Okay,
who do I replace? I didn't find someone in the
All Star reserve list that I thought and you can't
have that. But I think Kyrie Irving had a case
Tyres Maxie demontis the Bonis Trey Young, Devin Booker. You

(21:37):
mentioned Norman Powell, Tyres Haliburn, the problem howburn not?

Speaker 2 (21:42):
You know what? He got off to a bad start.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
That is, I mean, that's what knocked him right, he
did he got he wasn't the same player, like at
the end.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Of the thought he was going to be top eight
player in the league.

Speaker 7 (21:53):
But here's what's always fascinating happens every single All Star
Game every year. I asked some coaches a few years
ago for a piece, because they're the ones that select
the reserves. I asked them, what's your criteria when you
voted for reserves?

Speaker 6 (22:08):
And most of them.

Speaker 7 (22:09):
Say, yeah, I really want to reward players on winning teams.
And when then when you look at the reserves, it
goes down the middle. Some of them get in because
they're on a winning team, some aren't, and then there
are a bunch of exceptions. There doesn't seem to be
a specific criteria that coaches have. Where with the starters,
it's obviously a little bit easier because you're picking starters,

(22:29):
but fans are always picking their favorites, and I think
that for all the imperfections, media members are as objective
as can be. And you combine that and there's very
rarely a case you choose a starter that's not deserved.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
So will Wimby not ever make a All Star Game?

Speaker 1 (22:45):
I mean, I'm got in, No, but not as I'm
talking about being voted in, because I think I'll joker.
I'm asking, Yeah, like I think, like Wimby's supposed to
be this generational teams. I'm just surprised that when and
you can stop me Yao Ming and those guys first
came in, they went right away, you know what I mean,
it was maybe there was just nobody in the way

(23:06):
of them, is what I'm trying to say to Wimby.
I know he's but not as a you know what
I mean, he's Yeah, like fans who just say he's
the next thing.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah, we don't higher country. You know I'm saying, I
really know that's that's that's a real bit. That's a
real factor. That was back when the overseas voters here, So.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
France doesn't matter like there's a million China billion people.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Rob a little bit different.

Speaker 6 (23:34):
Even when Yoming was hurt, he was getting voted.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
Yeah, it's a whole difference. So you're right than Wimby.
But yeah, I'm just might still be geting votes. He
might have got one hundred and twenty two votes.

Speaker 7 (23:46):
You probably won't agree because you have some things about Lebron.
But Lebron, for example, he had the instant impact right away.
Wemby has had impact but not the same significant.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
But do you see what I'm saying, I see I do.
I'm prize that Wemby isn't where. They don't care about
what the record is. They don't care he's the next
when I look at the thing about when you look
at the West starters, who Shay s g But I
said that is it because of the joker that he's
not gonna get you know?

Speaker 4 (24:15):
But I could have been another wing though, But it's
like he's not gonna get the more votes in Kevin
Durant's Why not that's not serious?

Speaker 6 (24:23):
Yeah, I think I think when Wemby should.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Be getting votes over Kevin Durant.

Speaker 6 (24:27):
Now, I don't think.

Speaker 7 (24:29):
Here's why Kevin Durant, Lebron specifically, Uh, they're considered luminaries
right now, and in fairness to them, they're still playing
at a high level.

Speaker 8 (24:37):
There.

Speaker 7 (24:38):
There have been some injuries, specifically with Durant. Both teams
have been inconsistent, but their play alone has been pretty respect.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
This is usually a game.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
I'm talking about the fan vote of seeing who you
want to see. It ain't always like.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Exactly, but that's the thing like Lebron.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
And and Kevin Durant old news like like I would say,
I think all forget how great they have been and
all that.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
I think the fact that these are the final years
of them. They're thinking, let's embrace it and enjoy having them.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
I'm voting Derek Jeter, though Derek Jeter ain't Derek Jetering.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
Like he used to. You didn't get into We also at.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
Different position, but it's the same thing with Steph Curry.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
This season is going to get in into another three years, four.

Speaker 7 (25:26):
Years playing a Chase Center this year in San Francisco
for the All Star Game.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Mike Well, Michael. I was gonna say, Michael Jordan. He
was Jordan, But you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
When you're when you just become one of those guys
you're in, it's just rarely that it's that's gonna happen
where you're not going to Yeah, that was gonna bring
up the Terry Rosier real quick before we get Mark
Uh out of here. Just your thought, what are the
NBA brought up a point we were talking about. The
NBA did their investigation into this second. They came up

(25:52):
with nothing. Now Here we are hearing the Terry Roseier
random game back in twenty twenty three. Uh got a
bunch of unusual bets on him. One day they learned
the lead we monitor all this money, oh yeah, without
a doubt, and he plays nine minutes out of the blue,
no explanation. Then he's out for another eight games or
whatever it was. But what do you make of all
this and how is gambling just affected maybe even what

(26:15):
you do, just like do writing, and you have to
mad it into stuff I.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
Can understand specifically Terry or Zero. I do buy it.
I'm not naive to the world.

Speaker 7 (26:24):
But when you look at him missing these games, he
was with the Charlotte team, they were tanking, They're not good,
so it makes sense why he sat out. But I
think that this represents the idea that this isn't an
isolated incident. Once the NBA and look, we've all been
having business relationships with gambling companies, so they feel not

(26:46):
only because they want to make more money, but just
adapt to how fans watch games. But they're opening up
a Pandora's box because it's not just the outcome of
who wins, who loses, all these prop bets of everything
under the sun. When it comes to player performance, every
little thing matters. I think in Terry Rozier's case, not

(27:07):
only because of the context I was mentioned, but because
he's making so much money. I don't think the top
end guys are going to get into this because it's
not worth it, right, But you're looking at the end
of the rotation guys.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
I agree with that to certain sense.

Speaker 6 (27:20):
Slippery slope.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
But if I no information, I can help my family
and friends out like like, but.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
It's still not worth it for the top end. It's
it's the bottom guys. It's the bottom guys.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
I just I think that there's a chance that there's
going to be some scandal at some point, because it is.
It's not that I think that if gambling is legal,
I'm not mad at Fox Sports, Radio, ESPN, whatever, if
they take gambling dollars from you know, advertisers. Yeah, but
for the league to actually be in bed, for for

(27:52):
the league to.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Have betting pallers or whatever you want to call.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Them inside their arenas, I think that's where it's a
slippery slope.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
I really do.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
I really believe it could be like you know, like
they're doing that thing like Vegas what. But but should
we be that much Because you've heard from players when
the guy misses two free throws and the guy doesn't
get his uh parlay, they're going after the players now
and the coach.

Speaker 6 (28:20):
I've I've been at games this season.

Speaker 7 (28:21):
I've heard fans yell out to Lebron and other guys,
hey grab a rebound because they're almost double. Some players
have lamented. I get so many dms on Instagram Twitter when.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
I fall, How Dary? How could he do that? It's
like you.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Couldn't hit We couldn't make another free throw? What like
you cost me at six thousand dollars? It went from
fantasy was that for players? Remember that was a new
Fantasy football was the thing.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
So now it's the the gambling and all the availability
of these props, bets and parlays and all that. So yeah,
it's it's to Rob's point, gambling has been here, is
not going anywhere. But once the league opened the doors
to that. They're broadcast partners, they themselves do commercials. Everybody's
connected to it. To me, you just made it. If
it was all going to be an issue for certain

(29:07):
people who reads an addictive is a disease or something,
now you've hiden it. And our concern, because we talked
about earlier, is the youth because that they got fun.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
We've had so.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Many calls today they said at thirteen year old. And
what they're doing is you play like gold coins, you'll
get real money.

Speaker 6 (29:24):
That's addict.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
And so you get coins and this is to get
you prepped, put groom for it.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
You know you're eighteen now you're out here doing real gambling.

Speaker 6 (29:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (29:34):
And I think to your point, Calvin, about hey, they've
gone down this road. It makes sense since they've gone
down this road. Now, it's all about the old adage,
you break it, you own it. So the NBA moving forward,
it's all about beefing up enforcement, knowing how to regulate.
Looking at all these other when you know there's law
enforcement or any other agencies that investigate, fully.

Speaker 6 (29:57):
Cooperate because this can't lead to problem.

Speaker 7 (30:00):
Wolsplot on the flip side can lead to obviously a
lot more money for everyone.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Yeah, all money, good money, Thanks for coming in. We

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Did you live in Houston at that with the family
and they said we're gonna name it Houston. No, my
dad was an Oilers fan. My mom wouldn't leave me.
Let her name me Earl Campbell. I'll go with the city.
I'll go to Houston, not Earl Campbell. That's good, all right,
what's up, Houston?

Speaker 3 (33:37):
I just got a hot take for you guys.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
I think y'all are being soft on the gambling thing.

Speaker 8 (33:40):
I need. I think we need to get kids hooked
on gambling, nicotine everything as early as we can.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Okay, okay, man, all right, Houston, Houston.

Speaker 6 (33:50):
We have a problem.

Speaker 4 (33:51):
Yeah, all right, we have to now because he didn't,
he will try to get the whole world hooked on everything.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
The last in Houston.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
That's right. Caesar in Houston. Hell, Caesar, what's happening.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
On the last call?

Speaker 9 (34:08):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (34:09):
Calvin?

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Yo? So thank you, We appreciate you.

Speaker 7 (34:12):
Jesu.

Speaker 9 (34:12):
This is my take on it. I put fifty dollars
on one of the apps. I'm not gonna put them
out there.

Speaker 8 (34:18):
But both of the games I betted on Atlanta and
the Lakers game, they both turned out to be blowout.
So my guys didn't hit over. And I'm sitting here mad,
I'm listening to something. You guys are right, There's no way.

Speaker 9 (34:28):
I should be pissed off at the Wizards.

Speaker 8 (34:31):
The Wizards, dude, right, Yeah, I will say this to me.

Speaker 9 (34:34):
The gambling. It also intensifies you not seeing the effort
on the players, which we've been talking about all year long. Yeah,
the guy you got him to go over thirteen, he
got ten in the first quarter.

Speaker 8 (34:48):
He don't even hit it, you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (34:50):
Yeah, okay, but that's the point you lose the nuance
of the game, you know, you know, because you're not
Maybe the reason why he didn't because he was playing defense.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
He dedicated himself.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
In the defensive definitely affected the game in the way
you see it.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
So what's Tomorrow, Friday. It is Friday, is Friday.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
It's about to be the We're gonna call it Fast
Friday because we're gonna blow through that back and be
in New Orleans in a minute.
