Yeah, man, what a show. It's a TV theme song Thursday,
and so much to do, so little time. Adam Auslin,
he's a Clippers pre and postgame host. He'll be joining
us Clippers Talk on YouTube. Will be joining us in
about twenty seven minutes. We'll catch up the Clippers with
(01:52):
all of the injuries and all the other stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
They're still last listen around and I are both we
don't agree on a lot. One thing we both agree
on is Tyl you can coach.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
He really can, and if he wins ever can win
another championship, like to go with the woman that would
solidify him for real.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
He's the whole guy away from Lebron just.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Right, because whenever you win more than one, I always
say that it does give you a little more cache.
Not that winning one doesn't matter, but it gives you
more cache. Our number two a little shop talk will
get into that. And our number three h Mark Funky
cole Medina in studio and.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Why not be empty handed?
Speaker 5 (02:30):
Mark right and make sure Mark is probably listed, you know,
as he walks by the cheesecake factories, easily just pick
up a small vanilla bean cheesecakes like I'm just saying
you're saying Mark and last call. Of course, in case
you can't get in, uh, you will be able to
(02:53):
get in the last part of the show. Thought about something,
what's that?
Speaker 1 (02:56):
If he brought it in, we will be teasing our
guy Alex, who is going on a forty five day
fast or something.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
Alex won't mind, He'll just be looking at us while
we're eating cheese.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Cut you curiously, I could do, Alex.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Yeah, No, I won't mind at all because I'm vibrating
off of the vibranium of the elevated level vibrating, so
I don't even notice in which the cheesecake of the
aromas at these So yeah, he'll.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Be in enlightened me. Yeah, you'll be in your enlightened state.
You're right, never mind, you'll be okay.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
All right, and let's welcome into the Odd Couple crew.
Could you.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
We wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him. Bree is our producer filling in for rob G.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Matt, you can't.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
Get the bat and you get it, okay, and we
should let's do the rob G update.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yeah, what's the rob Oh? Rob G is doing just
five I have the audio of this procedure. You want
to hear it? You do.
Speaker 6 (03:55):
There, you go, wow, that's why you got two kids
like that. Okay, Alex is our engineer.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Manti is at the anchor desk. You'll keepers one of
those days my program. And of course Elijah on social
media heard him?
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Who Elijah?
Speaker 5 (04:17):
And he does a great job on social media. All right,
me welcome with my partner. He is, I'm fired up.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yes, I'm ready. We got a lot to talk about
on this TV theme.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
So on Thursday and maybe this is like, uh, you know,
like let me see what what show could we that's unbelievable?
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Remember that's uh, that's so believable. What was the other show?
Speaker 5 (04:44):
No, That's incredible was the name of the show from
the seventies and everybody you should go look at it
on YouTube and what it would be when it would
they would tell you some story about something happening, and
then they would turn to the camera and they would
do a close up in one of the host John
Davison or one of these other women.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Would go, that's incredible. So that was the show.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
There would be like some story the family fell off
the mountain, their car fell off the side of the
mountain and they survived and they drank ant water or
something for three days.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
You know, they would tell us incredible.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Story and then they would come back.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
To the to the the the anchor and then a
real close up, you know, pull into the camera. That's incredible. Okay,
so this Cam Newton. Okay, that's what I'm saying that
this is incredible. No, that's unbelievable. Okay, that's the show,
Cam Newton. He's not on First Take. He's on That's unbelievable. Okay,
(05:44):
that's the show. No, the hats, all the other stuff.
So Cam Newton said he would not give back his
MVP for a championship, a super Bowl championship. So let's
hear the sound. This is Cam Newton on First Take today.
I ask you, Cam, if you could give back that
league MVP for a super Bowl championship, would.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
You do it? Nope? Oh? Really? Really? Wow?
Speaker 7 (06:10):
What's more important? Impact or championships. Everybody's not going to
be Michael Jordan. Everybody's not going to be Patrick Mahomes.
Everybody's not going to be these individuals who have the
luxury of saying, hey I not only dominated this sport,
but I also have championships to back it, like, let
me remind you, Brad Johnson won a Super Bowl, Trent
(06:34):
Dilfer won a Super Bowl, respectfully, Nick Foles won a
Super Bowl. So yes, when you look at those guys
and you say, okay, what's more important? Would you have
preferred to win a Super Bowl? I think that that's
the humble approach. But if we're being honest, the impact
of you holding yourself accountable to say everybody has a
(06:57):
responsibility to do.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
And you can say, as an MVP.
Speaker 7 (07:02):
Award winner or All American, you've hailed yourself or you've
held your end of the bargain down, And that's what
it really comes down to it For me, I.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Know that's not the popular pick. I'm trying to.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
Be popularized, but my take is I'm taking individual success
because I did my job. Football is not about one
guy trying to do eleven jobs.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
It's eleven guys doing one job.
Speaker 7 (07:29):
And if everybody does their job, best famous words of
our coach Belichick, just.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
Do your job doing boulder dash poppy cock, total nonsense.
If you told me I could be sports writer of
the Year or be a part of a reporting team
to win a pulletzer. I'm winning a pulletzer. Okay, that
was great. I was wondering how you could tie that
into what we do. That was good, brother, But that's
how it would be the Beat Sports Writer of the Year.
(07:54):
That's cool. Win a pulletzer, you know what I mean?
Few people win a super Bowl. Come on, man, and
ain't no way you can equate the two. And basically,
this was a lame way of saying I played well.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Those other guys didn't do their job.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
That's why I didn't win a super Bowl because they
didn't do their job.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
No, that's not why you play.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
Come on, really, I'm sorry, I don't I haven't spoken
to Lamar Jackson. I guarantee you if he wins the
MVP and you asked him, can you turn in your
three MVPs for a super Bowl championship, I guarantee you
he would take the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
I guarantee you Ian.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
What guy who plays doesn't want to hold the trophy
at the end and win a.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Championship, especially that position were you're judged ultimately by that.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Absolutely, Barry Sanders.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
If you ask a lot of pros, that's who the
best running back of Barry Sanders, they won't even hesitate.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
You know that you've covered it. The sport. People love Barry.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
It's different for a what quarterback, that position you get
judged different.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Now, let's walk down a few things.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Ron Parker, Now it makes sense why Cam Newton didn't
dive on that ball. Thank you, because I'm glad you
brought that now, because he was like, let me ooh,
I did my part. I drove us down here. I
ain't jumping on that ball. Right, you dive on that
ball when it's us versus anything. Right, we're trying to
(09:22):
win his gang.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
I'm jumping and even in my shoulder gets dislocated and
the backup got to come in.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Well, don't get we got the ball. We still got
a chance to be in this thing. So that makes
sense why he making business decisions for Cam. Let's keep
walking down this line. It doesn't mean to win a
thing without that ring. Again for the quarterback position, and
if you want to tie it into some things, you
have people who they may not make it, but their
hall of fame considered because they have rings. Robert rri
(09:51):
is now eligible for the Hall of Fame because it
has seven rings. It's not because he has his own
personal accolades, because Robert Ory has seven times.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
He was anything. He was a clutch performer.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
If you want to put what they got the Pro
Bowl activities going on right now.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Eli Manning is right here. Can we turn?
Speaker 1 (10:11):
I mean, it's you and I argue about Eli all
the time. The reason why he's going to get in
the Hall of Fame is because he has two what
he rings, He has a pro but he's going to
get in because he has the rings and two Super
Bowl MVPs. So that's my point is you need those things,
especially at the quarterback to position, to continue to you know,
to elevate your career and your stature. And for me,
(10:33):
he sounds like somebody who didn't win a championship. You
know what I mean, I didn't win You want to
state high school back. Let me tell you you wouldn't
give that up. Let me tell you what I want
to My championship in high school, which is minuscule in comparison.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Would give that up.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
When I tell you how much twenty whatever years later
that still means to me.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
And it isn't just simply because this we won. It's
because I know what we went through. To get that
know what that team went through. I know what that
guy's personal situation. I know my own personal journey, how
we came together, differences we don't like.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Dude, that meant so much to me. I believe it.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
And again, I don't even want to bring it up
because it's high school. It was I don't know, but
the point of it is, but I get it. I'm
serious something. So for him to say it just show
I did what I did.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Can't.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Clearly you're one of the better quarterbacks or another team
would be, and you all did what you did. That's
why we're in this Super Bowl game. You know we
all did our thing right.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Give me the ring. I don't. I think he sounds
like somebody who didn't win.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Well, of course, I want to sign a way to
justify and be okay with it.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
And be okay with it and let everybody know I
still want an MVP. You guys can't talk bad about
me because I want an MVP.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
We know where you fit in as a quarterback.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
And then to bring up like Brad Johnson and and
Trent Dilferd, those teams were dominated by their defense.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Like two of the literalt of all times.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
Those are like two of the greatest defenses ever and
nobody brings those guys.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
They're good examples in Okay, let's call Trendil for Trendil
for would you rather be swap out that Super Bowl
ring or give you an MVP give me my super
Bowl trophy back?
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Yeah, and then he brought.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
Him Nick Foles the same thing. And at least in
next case. He bawled out in the super Bowl, no
question about it. He ow Brady Brady. I mean that's
one of the all time great performances, didn't He almost
have five hundred yards in that Super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Was balling out of his mind. Yes, and he also
caught a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
He caught a touchdown, right, and think about that. He
got to catch a touchdown, win a super Bowl. Man,
he ain't he living His son's son son is gonna
live up on that moment.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
And you notice when you go to the card shows
and all that.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
Stuff, super Bowl winning quarterback put you on a different level.
Come on, man, hits so MVP super Bowl winning court
you want a super Bowl look and MVP meant you
were incredible that season. But watch this, Joe Burrow.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
If he he wins one more extra game or two
he messed around and could have won an MVP this year.
You don't think he was to give that MVP back
for a Super Bowl ring, you know what I mean?
Joe Burrow had this a great season and had he
won a game or two extra it had really had
a shot at winning an MVP. He would absolutely give
that way to be in the postseason, have a chance
to win a Super Bowl, win a super Bowl title,
(13:20):
and a Kia.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
I'm shot.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
I'm not shocked that Cam said it, given kind of
cal Cam's been Cam, but it makes a whole lot
more sense why he.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Ain't dive on that football in the Super Bowl? All right?
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
This is real simple. We want to hear from you.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
Are you with Cam Newton that the MVP is bigger
than winning a Super Bowl or on which Kelvin and
I think is poppycock? Or are you with us? It's
always about the team winning a championship. That's what Trump's
everything winning a championship.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
That's why teams you know.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
This in Detroit, they're in dear that going to work
two thousand and four Pistons team.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 1 (14:04):
They're revered that town everything, dude, And that's why you
can be a Michael Cooper here in LA who wasn't
an MVP in it walk I never made All Star Game.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
He can walk around this time.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
Man, He'll get everything because people remember the championship runs.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
He was a part of it.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
And it matters all right, eight seven, seven ninety nine

Speaker 8 (14:54):
Confident to the bridge through a part and then inviting everyone,
what would I see?
Speaker 2 (15:06):
You want see? What would the car say? On the
car attached here we.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Say in the frase boom boom boom, dude.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
If you don't want me the Money Show.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
I saw some list and this was like, it wasn't
even in the top twenty. I'm like, what TV theme
song top twenty? It's a Golden Girls, not like one
of the top three or four.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Top That's it. I ain't going further than three, top
three or four. Do you hear that? Bridge to the
Dude Dude.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
With cheers is up there and the Jeffersons and it's
coming now that way.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
But the Golden Girls hits a little differ just because
the music makes with the lady shout to her whoever.
That was eighty seven seven right Quick Company Live of
course from the tire rack dot com studios. It's the
odd couple on a clearly TV theme song. Thursday Rappid

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Never met at that.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Cam Newton says he ain't trading his MVP for a
Super Bowl championship. US Me and Roth say Cama tripping
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, We'll say you.
Speaker 5 (16:23):
Let's go Marty in Kentucky. We haven't heard from Marty
and the long mars Marty.
Speaker 9 (16:28):
Wow, what's up Tama's I was thinking about y day
morning Robber. They was dogging you on two bros and
a couple of jokes. Hey say he was cheap lady
klan snit. He was hitting you up for some merch
for his kids, and Jonas was standing is never coming.
I wanted to call in and through him. He's a
very generous man.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Thank you, Marty, comeing ridiculous. I bought in some river
It's first pair of Jordan's Marty.
Speaker 9 (16:55):
Yeah, and he's he's hooping good.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
He's a hoop there.
Speaker 9 (17:02):
On the subject, I was watching the show today. I
was watching Cam in his big thirty gallon hat, way
way up in his feelings. This is why I believe
some ex players are meant for big network television and
some are meant for podcasts. You can go back and
look at Cam Newton when he won an NCAA championship,
(17:25):
and you can go back and get him when he
accepted that MVP, and you can just tell me which
one he looked happier on I'm calling bull.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
On this, absolutely, Marty, great call. Appreciate you. Appreciate it,
Marty Q in Arizona. You're the couple Fox Sports Radio.
What's up?
Speaker 10 (17:45):
Hey?
Speaker 9 (17:46):
What's having fellas? Listen.
Speaker 10 (17:49):
I understand the way that Shall shiel about this, but
let's think about this. I were really if I was
Cam Newton, I will really winning championship because he would
be relevant to the championship. But on the flip side,
if I want a championship and I'm at the end
(18:10):
of the bench, it doesn't even really matter.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
You're so wrong, No, No.
Speaker 10 (18:17):
Go ahead, go ahead, you all right, this is just
my opinion, not yours.
Speaker 5 (18:22):
Yeah, but we could disagree with your opinion. That doesn't
mean that we can't disagree, Q.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Right, Okay, I just want to make sure you understand
how that works.
Speaker 11 (18:31):
Right, No, I get it, I get it.
Speaker 10 (18:33):
But what I'm saying is I'm sure that that man
on the end of the bench would love to have
one MVP of something.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
Well, if he's the end of the bench, he wouldn't
be up for an MVP. So that doesn't make sense.
You can't be on the end of the bench and
then be up for an MVP.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Actually can't.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Actually, I get what you're saying that they would wish
they had that talent, they could have been an MVP.
But no, I still guarantee you you're gonna talk to
somebody who want to ring who was a part of championship.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
They have the city there and they never have to
do anything again. They're a made man because they won
a championship in set town.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Made man. Even if you're on the bench, Nick in
New York, you're on the couple Fox Sports.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Hard is in Detroit, Horror Play one and a half,
like A two, three seasons with Detroit.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
That's it. They love him and he is revered.
Speaker 12 (19:19):
I love how you guys lined up, but I'm gonna
say that they're made men. Nick Foles. If he goes
out in Philly right now, yes, main man, he's not
paying for anything. I also think the short stint that
Kawhi had in Toronto.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
He's yes, made man.
Speaker 12 (19:33):
That the other part and not gonna hit home here.
Cam Newton is so selfish and that's why he dresses
like such a bozo. Even if he's wrong, He just
wants you to look at him. He's so selfish. He's
so tone deaf, so like what a teammate and a
championship means. Thank you?
Speaker 2 (19:50):
Spot on the.
Speaker 5 (19:51):
Spot on uh Dre in Michigan in Massachusetts, I should say.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
You're on the Raida moved Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Andre?
Speaker 9 (20:00):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Andre?
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Did he bail out hold Andrew? I know I ain't
to Dre. I know Yo, he's talking right now.
Speaker 13 (20:05):
Yo.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Can you guys see me? Thanks for the call? Can
you Drew in New Jersey on Fox Sports Radio? What's up? Drew?
What's up? Drew?
Speaker 11 (20:13):
So?
Speaker 13 (20:13):
I think it matters. Are we talking like a Crenilver
Super Bowl or are we talking like.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
It doesn't matter? It's a Super picked? The super Bowl
doesn't matter you pick it, ye a super Bowl.
Speaker 13 (20:24):
I would take the solo raver's money over over, like
a Crendil for Super Bowl, because no matter what you say,
every single Super Bowl is when you mentioned box, you
know you have like a Brad Johnson or a Trent Dilfer.
I'd rather have the accolades and take and get all
that money. But if you're talking like hey, Cam Newton
versus someone like that, hat doesn't have an M d
(20:47):
T like a Drew Brees obviously like a Brees, I
think it matters. I think it's context.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
No, I don't think. I really don't, Drew.
Speaker 5 (20:55):
I think a Super Bowl as a part of a
team is better than an individual will accolade.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
And I think what I said, what I'm saying for
that quarterback position too.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
That's and like I said to you earlier, as a
sports writer my entire life, Rob, you could be sports
Writer of the Year, or you could be a part
of a reporting team that won a Pulletzer Prize. It's
not even close. I do care about being sports Writer
the Year. A Pulletzer the highest honor in journalism. I'm
(21:27):
taking the Pulletzer. Yeah, I'm with you, all right, thank
you for the call. Everybody going to get in.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
We got Adam Oslyn's gonna be coming and joining us
at a minute am five or seven Clippers. We talk
a little pre and post game and five five seventy.
It was on what station I was reading as is,
but I should know it's five seventy.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
I should know that.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
That's like when you're look into teleprompt spectrum and they're like,
I'm Washington the type and he says, all right, I'll
be black tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
I mean back, Yeah, I better be black tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (21:54):

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Joining the show Adam Oslin from AM five seventy, Clippers
pre and post game host and host of the Clippers
on YouTube. Yeah, Brie first and last day, we got
him joining us right now.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
But follow Adam a on X. What's up, Adam? How
are you?
Speaker 7 (22:22):
Man?
Speaker 2 (22:23):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (22:24):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (22:24):
Kelson?
Speaker 11 (22:25):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (22:26):
Rob Parking?
Speaker 2 (22:27):
We're doing good.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
I live to the people and told me you were
a AM five oh seven, So I was like, what
station you're gonna get for a hard time. I was
an anchorman. I played anchorman early, like twelve hours ago
in the morning here in La. You know, I'll say this,
Rob and I both we don't agree on a lot,
but one thing we agree on is ty Lo's ability
to coach. And I think he's the best coach in
the NBA, one of them for me, He's right up
(22:49):
there for sure. And here we are with the Clippers.
You lose PG thirteen, you lose or kawhis in and out.
You know it just it looks like a season that's
gonna go down to the dream and it ends up
being the case. As a sitier right now, twenty seven
and twenty How is Tylou able to get this team
to compete and win so many games?
Speaker 11 (23:08):
Well, first, he brought in Jeff Van Gundy. He got
a little bit old school as kind of a defensive
coordinator for this Clippers team. And I've been saying all
season long, hashtag JBG for MVP because Jeff Van Gundy
has been that good for the Clippers. They got the
second best defense in the league, guys, and they've had
Kawhi Leonard for nine games so far, a two time
Defensive Player of the Year winner, So they kind of
(23:30):
built that identity. They figure things out basically every night.
The Clippers know who they are more than the opponent does.
They just know a brand of basketball they want to play,
so they have a higher floor out there. And I
think Coach Lou has been tremendous him and James Harden
holding things down on the offensive end. But I do
give a ton of credit to Jeff Van Gundy. He's
not so old school now that he's holding on to
(23:51):
the shoe of Alonso morning when there's a fight that
breaks out or anything like that.
Speaker 9 (23:55):
But he's no higher.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
I believe it.
Speaker 5 (23:59):
I once remember when I was covering the Knicks and
Jeff Van Gundy was an assistant coach. Now you know,
I don't know how tall Jeff is, five foot nothing
or whatever he is, and I remember him working out
with Patrick Ewing.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Whay had a broom on a play the defender to be.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
The defender, and he was defending like that image will
never go out of my head.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
He has a broom trying to defend that medication.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
That's ja That looks like me trying to clean my ceilings. Well,
let's go here with the.
Speaker 5 (24:27):
All star reserves and Norman Powell of averaging twenty four
point two points has been tremendous for the Clippers. No
reserve foul affair.
Speaker 11 (24:39):
I mean, I work for the Clippers. I know where
my bread is buttered. I'm gonna say it's fouling this way.
It's easy to say a guy should make it.
Speaker 9 (24:47):
It's hard to.
Speaker 11 (24:48):
Say who she had made it, who he had a
chance to make it over And in this case, I
think his numbers are all better than Jyalen Williams, Jay
Dubb with the Oks he's under and you can say No.
One A shooting almost forty four percent from three. He's
getting three more points per game than jadeb at twenty
four to twenty one. There is a case to be
(25:08):
made there. But the alternative is, well, the OKC thunder
have the best record in the Western Conference and that's
going to be the case for ja Jalen Williams. So
I get it. It's a popularity contest. Norman Powell has
not been getting enough respect. I think guys, last season
he was one of the best three point shooters in
the league and they impluted him in a three point contest.
(25:28):
I'm not surprised by this at all. He's always had
a chip on his shoulder. He's always been overlooked. This
is just gonna be more fuel to the fire.
Speaker 5 (25:36):
Yeah, you know what Caitlyn Clark told the NBA. Put
Norman Powell in the shoot three points. You can't get Norman.
Speaker 6 (25:43):
No.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Actually, Norman has been you know, he's been sneaky good
as you know. But he's from the field. I know. No,
he is a baller man.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
He's just one of those guys if he can just
go and every you know, three four, five years, there
are those guys who just do that. They're so good
for a team that no one really talks about. I
want to stay there one more time. What about the
resurgence of James Harden and that we kind of thought
maybe this is where the decline happens. And obviously he's
not scoring like you used too, but he's really leading
his team along with Powell, but really still kind of
(26:12):
the engine that gets this thing going.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
What do you make of him? Kind of remember they
ask him an offseason he said, like, I'm the system.
Speaker 11 (26:20):
Yeah, And I mean it makes sense that he gets
the nod in the Western Conference All Star Game over
Norman Palell because Norman Pal's more dependent on James Harden
than James Harden is on Norman Palell.
Speaker 9 (26:31):
He is the system.
Speaker 11 (26:32):
He gives you every night a floor offensively where you
know how you're running your offense and it's basically high
pick and roll. But he's a manestro with that. He
and a Visa Zubas. James Harden for them, who I
think has only missed two games so far this season,
has been mister consistent. I don't know where this team
is without him, Like they're twenty seven and twenty there's
gotten nine games from Kawhi Leonard so far. James Harden,
(26:55):
I don't even know if it's so much a resurgence.
I think it's just the right place for him with
this Clippers team and coach lou and now he is
getting a little bit more love. And he wanted to
be back in LA. This is of course where he
is from. So he's been a great ambassador for Clippers
basketball guys. I know a lot of people are apprehensive
at first. They thought James Harden the off the court stuff.
You know, how serious is he about the game. He
(27:17):
has them in like personal private mini camps going on
with the rest of the squad this offseason, like making
sure all the guys were in line to get ready
for a season where they knew coming in Kawhi was
going to be out for some time.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Yes, and I gotta admit I've been to the Into
a Dome twice. It's a spectacular place, Adam. I do
have one complaint. Can you get to the Big Boss
and get that I know you have the Big Boss's
ear there with the Clippers.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Can they do that? Can they get better food? Like?
Speaker 5 (27:48):
I just can't get over how the food isn't up
to par to the arena like that. It's the same
food a lot coming from you. You know, I'm a
food guys. Same food at every concession stand. That's that's boring.
Like if I go to section one hundred, I could
get this section, I could get pizza. It's the same thing, Adam,
(28:12):
That's the only thing. Else do you only complain I have?
Speaker 11 (28:15):
I think they have different food in some of the
different private lounges that a guy like you, baby, I
can't get in people to get into. Well, is it
because of what happened at Dodger Stadium with you taking
a bite and then putting the food away after you
realize he had to pay for it?
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Yeah, that was a classic moment. But I didn't know.
I thought nobody's doing that. Crazy when get down in
New Orleans on me down there, Okay.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
They're like, oh, you know how they do No, we
do not do that, all right, Adam, let's switch gears
real quick, and we've got about one minute here if
you answer this, we got the uh the All Star
game coming up. We've been talking about this are you
all in on the new format? Just I don't even
know how to describe it. It's like this team three
seeds or that team beat this seam, so they go
to play with the other fourteen.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
Are you in? Man? Maybe I'm wrong? Maybe you like it.
Speaker 11 (29:00):
There's one good thing about this format, and it better
come through. They need to make up the coaches or
the front office gms with Shack, with Kenny, with Charles.
As long as those three have microphones nearby and they're
talking about the game while it's going on, and maybe
get the dumb button ready, it will be better than
(29:21):
it's been in recent years. That's the only thing that
can save the All Star Game right now, because the
format has been a moving target. It's frustrating, it's annoying.
But if you got Charles, if you got Shak, if
you got Kenny, will at least be able to laugh.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
And if the commissioner was really on his game, instead
of trying to cut the games to forty minutes, he
could cut the All Star Game to four minutes. Okay,
if you want to cut anything? Can he cut the
All Star Game?
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Fortunately? That went a bad one. You good? That was
a good all?
Speaker 6 (29:45):
Right?
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Adam. Adam, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Appreciate you joining us, follow him and follow Adam a
on X.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Thank you brother, appreciate it.
Speaker 11 (29:52):
Love you guys, Thanks for having me.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yeah, he ain't lying about Norman Poule man.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
If you watch those Kooberg and nor But he's been
doing this since Toronto.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
He has been one of those guys. Every team needs.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
A Norman Powell, uh in order to win, all right,
all the way to the people, you won't fire the
last two about what thirty six hours or so? You
know that wasn't really that wasn't bad, Alex. Or maybe
I'm just getting after all these months, I started getting
just hugy.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Yeah, dude, I don't understand. We'll talking about it. I
don't even talk about it right now. Man, you're just
over here not eating.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
Hey, Alex, I got something for you. And refrigerator with air,
that's all.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
He's eating. Some pasta. No, just a couple of just
a little ZD with cheese on it. That's not bad,
one like one or two. Any shrimp on the side.
No shrimps. What does shrimp go up to? I can't
afford it now. Shekel City.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Speaking of affording, will see how Rob did and also
conversation again about Kaylyn Clark and did she give a
little stiff arm to the NBA. We'll talk about It's

and one.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Last night, that Washington one stopped me from getting the
hat trick. You put money on one? I know twenty
six are unit twenty six? My god?
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Here we go tonight, Atlanta Hawks best bet plus nine
and a half. That's taken on the Cavaliers. Also, I
got Memphis Grizzlies minus four and a half. They're hosting
the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves minus seven and
a half at the Utah.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Jazz Carmelona on Stockton. Roll around.
Speaker 5 (33:01):
Here we go so again, Minnesota minus seven and a half,
Memphis minus four and a half, and Atlanta plus nine
and a half. And remember, Calvin, what's that I'm not
telling you who to bet on?
Speaker 2 (33:15):
What you're doing. I'm telling you who I bet on.
All right, Rob Parker, have a fun I guess you
could say fourth one if you want to do it.
What's up? I have the over under for Robby with
kids at two and a half. What should we take?
I'm taking the under. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Listen that them snip snip snips don't always work. You
hear them stories. I'll see those shows, those TLC shows.
I thought we were done, but we had another. Rob
G's probably laying down listening to the show going. I
can't believe they're doing.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
If he is listening to the show, I'll be so
mad at him right now.
Speaker 5 (33:43):
If you don't go recover, relax and go put on
the Sopranos or something and just leave us alone for.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
A day, you would listen to you be listening to us,
wouldn't you. I'm a check on my guy. A couple
of minutes, we were talking about a little bit. Caitlin Clark.
The NBA asked if she wanted to come shoot in
the three point contest, and she declined, Actually, yeah, we
talked about a little bit yesterday, but she declined.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
She says she wants to do like her first crack
at it.
Speaker 15 (34:08):
To be Oh, she didn't want to lift up the
ratings for the for the NBA, and they don't. They
don't pay her jack. They do subsidize the league though, No,
but David still don't make any money. They ain't making
no money. I would be like, yeah, give me four
million dollars off.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
She don't want money like that, give me four Remember
Ice Q said come playing the Big Three.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
I'll give you what that five million or whatever she wanted.
The problem was she wanted to check to be a
certified and that's why that's what it is.
Speaker 11 (34:31):
She like.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
He's like, well, we ain't got all that, but I
wanted to check certified. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Oh the Pro Bowl, by the way, MANCI, your Pro
Bowl has now turned into looks like I don't know,
a newlywed game show or something. They didn't turn it
into it. They got Terry Crews. I don't think they
paid that man five million, at least six of it
out of seeing Terry Crews hosting in the Pro Bowl.
But yeah, so Kaitlyn Clark turned it down. I actually
get it though. She's like, hey, look she ain't dumb.
(34:57):
She's aware how popular she is. If I'm a hell
help the league. I want to help my league, help
help popularize, but I'm not going.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
To do that with like, seriously, what what what you
want to pay me because that you want eyeballs on
your event.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Seriously, I'm not in the n b A. I'm not
what No, No, Sabrina And I ask you did it?
Was it last year versus Steph? That was you know,
I was fun to see, but yeah, she ain't getting away,
she ain't getting the number. The idea of it and
of itself was fun and it was it was. It
was cute, and I'm not mad at it. But Caitlyn
is a different level right now, you know, at least
(35:33):
maybe for her whole career, but at least for the
next couple of years while she's just she is just
the one. Uh that's the case. So she's gonna go
over there and prop up the w n b A
in that league. So but we'll see we did. I
don't know what's up with this All Star week. I
mean I literally can't right now. If I gave you
a new bag of rounds chicken on me, could you
even explain the NBA All Star like how it's working again?
Speaker 2 (35:54):
No, I just I have no idea, no interest.
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Seriously, like the first team team that a young team
that plays the you know, the rookie sophomore tame.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
They explained it. I got a headache just listening to
people try to explain what they're doing.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Yeah, you go to the thing and if they win,
so the eight man team goes to the rotations of
the second aime and then when they win, they pick
up the other team and then they can compete to win,
but only if they win against the other eight man team.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
I'm like, just beat each other West versus East. Roll
the ball out.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
Here we go, and can I say this too? Yeah,
the idea that you have to wear your jersey number
tells you that you're.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
Not that famous. I'm just so.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
That's some again game show thing that they're doing at
the Pro Bowl week. They got some lineing they got
on the.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Bill, ask Kevin Durant to put on the jersey so
you can know who he is.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Well, they do wear they do wear helmets though, you know,
I'm trying to give him some slack, and they all
look like big old huge lineman. Yeah, but you ain't
never lie. That's the anivinity that might be helpful for them,
though they could just walk around all the time like
and not be known but still be worth millions. Might
not be mad at that. All right, we have some
gambling issues to talk about the NBA. It's Fox Sports
(37:08):
Radio five o seven
