reported all throughout the day that the Golden State Warriors
have been trying to get this reunion going with Kevin Durant.
They ain't playing, they were forty eight hours or so,
and they've really been hot to trot anything they can
to get KD back to the Bay. The only problem
is KD doesn't want to go back to the Bay,

and according to mark Stein and others, KD put the
word out very firmly, says I am not interested in
a reunion with Steph Curry and Golden State. And as
a result, according to The Athletic Now Golden State, I said,
all right, you don't want to come here, We're gonna
stop the pursuit.

the team, the city, how do you respond to that
everybody saying, oh man, we're playing against the chiefs and

biggest issue when it comes to the refs and this
whole do with the Chiefs, I think it's more of
a gambling issue where where you know, where people are
being on the games and they feel like, okay, this
first down is keeping it is keeping the draft from extending.
So I think that's where a lot of it is
coming from. Now, granted there are obviously.

Can I give you some numbers real quick.

Okay, this is since twenty twenty one, twenty twenty one
playoffs since then, Yeah, penalties Chiefs forty one, opponents seventy
two penalty yards three forty Chiefs.

Five eighty nine opponents.

More penalties, right, more penalties in the game chiefs zero,
opponents eleven and the last one more penalty yards. Only
one time did the Chiefs have more penalty yards eleven
times the opponent did. So these are the numbers, and
I do believe that they that's why the union fell

compelled because and you're right about the gambling aspect. People
watch the games much more closely now because they have
money on it.

you often have to see the slow mold. But but
but at bang bang speed, you're gonna err on the
side of the quarterback get into because one of those
players I think was involved and it could have been
a Houston game, but one of those one of those
players was involved in knocking out the the uh the
quarterback for Jon Jacksonville Jaguars.

Uh now. And so look in the playoffs, you might
want the chief suits, but you don't want but but
you don't want Patrick Mahomes getting Nobody wants him to

and two. The quarterbacks not in the mix for Pro Bowl,

golf was at least being mentioned.

they're fifteen to two and you don't have players outside

here's the thing. Brett Veach is someone you know as
a general manager who's never been up for Executive of
the Year. I mean, and and look at if you
look back two years ago, everybody that that they drafted

has contributed greatly to you know, to the team successful
for the last two seasons and of course last year
as well.

Difference in the off season because they were looking to
address all those drafts of stuff that took place last year.
They signed Hollywood. Obviously, we saw Rashi Rights there and
you know, we saw she Rights, uh you know, step
up in the playoffs, and they drafted Exavity Worthy. So
that was gonna be the you know, their their first
team offense, including they have a check on of course,
Travis Kelcey. Well, the very first playing preseason, Hollywood Brown
(30:53):
goes down. They had to bring in Juju who was
cut from the from the Patriots, bring him back. And
then two week two in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes takes
out Rashid Ris' trying to recover fumble and then him
for the rest of the season. And and so I
think it took a couple of weeks and they ended
up trading for DeAndre Hopkins getting him in. And then
Isaiah Pachi was on k but he wasn't right. Yeah,

but I'm saying but but but but it was still
an adequate body, you know. And then then of course
Isaiah Pacheco went down and they brought Kareem Hunt in
off the couch. Kareem Hunt, that's a that's redemption story
within itself obviously from a lot of us who know
what took place in twenty eighteen for him to get
back and they had this second chance in Kansas City.

But you look at that Patrickson, so Patrick and not
having the the the offense going into the season that
he was expecting to have, the offense was gonna look differently.
So now you've got a piece mill stuff together, and
and and along the way, the Chiefs lose uh Jalen
Watson on the on the defensive side as a quarterback,
and that that took bags as defensive system just out

of the way because he was one of those lockdown corners.
So you get them back, you get him back. They
don't know the season a long with trum a mini
Hue plus the offense starts to click a little bit.
But then you're bringing back Hollywood Brown early Holly, you
know any of the team. Hollywood Brown's out for the year. Yeah,
but he comes back.

He's like, why are y'all leaning into this narrative that
the refs are helping us and the refs are making it?

You know that they're like on our team, if you will.

So much so in the NFL and the ref the
Association had to come out and be like, hey, that's
not the case.

That's heard of.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
I've never seen that and from any any league, any league.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
So with that, I mean, you being connected with you know,
the team, the city, how do you respond to that
everybody saying, oh man, we're playing against the chiefs and
the refs.
Speaker 14 (26:14):
You know what, I'm gonna be quite I think the
biggest issue when it comes to the refs and this
whole do with the Chiefs, I think it's more of
a gambling issue where where you know, where people are
being on the games and they feel like, okay, this
first down is keeping it is keeping the draft from extending.
So I think that's where a lot of it is
coming from. Now, granted there are obviously.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Can I give you some numbers real quick.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Okay, this is since twenty twenty one, twenty twenty one
playoffs since then, Yeah, penalties Chiefs forty one, opponents seventy
two penalty yards three forty Chiefs.
Speaker 4 (26:47):
Five eighty nine opponents.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
More penalties, right, more penalties in the game chiefs zero,
opponents eleven and the last one more penalty yards. Only
one time did the Chiefs have more penalty yards eleven
times the opponent did. So these are the numbers, and
I do believe that they that's why the union fell
(27:11):
compelled because and you're right about the gambling aspect. People
watch the games much more closely now because they have
money on it.
Speaker 14 (27:20):
And look, and I've I've told Robbed this before. She said,
But but I gamble on the games, you know what
I mean, Like, and it depends on the state citor.

Yeah, but the one that got people was the one
where the two defenders hit each other and Patrick Mahomes,
you know what I mean, like like it's stuff like
that head. I mean that was not that the two
defenders got the brunt of it. Well you know they
they dove in. But what I'm saying Patrick did get
hit in the head on their plate. Now, you know

you often have to see the slow mold. But but
but at bang bang speed, you're gonna err on the
side of the quarterback get into because one of those
players I think was involved and it could have been
a Houston game, but one of those one of those
players was involved in knocking out the the uh the
quarterback for Jon Jacksonville Jaguars.

Uh now. And so look in the playoffs, you might
want the chief suits, but you don't want but but
you don't want Patrick Mahomes getting Nobody wants him to
be injured.

And let's just speak about Patrick Mahomes in the last
two years. This year, I still think you go fifteen
and two. The quarterbacks not in the mix for Pro Bowl,
not in the mix it you know what MVP, it
is unusual. Would you acknowledge that that that it's surprised.

If you look at the NFC version of that. Jared
golf was at least being mentioned.
Speaker 14 (29:36):
Right, Look, you know you have to convince men. I mean,
they're fifteen to two and you don't have players outside
of Andy Reid that's even up for an award this week.
So yeah, it's uh, I mean, it's a crime. But
here's the thing. Brett Veach is someone you know as
a general manager who's never been up for Executive of
the Year. I mean, and and look at if you
look back two years ago, everybody that that they drafted

has contributed greatly to you know, to the team successful
for the last two seasons and of course last year
as well.

I mean, you know what's different.

I know he doesn't have all the weapons or whatever,
but he just doesn't seem to be nobody there. Nobody's
asking him to throw fifty touchdowns. That's not I'm not
even talking about that. But when you watch, it doesn't
feel the same.

Here's the thing, And I have you watch every day.

I watched the highlights, and I watched when they're on
the national game.

I don't watch everything. Now, Okay, I'm not gonna sit
there and act like I do.

Difference in the off season because they were looking to
address all those drafts of stuff that took place last year.
They signed Hollywood. Obviously, we saw Rashi Rights there and
you know, we saw she Rights, uh you know, step
up in the playoffs, and they drafted Exavity Worthy. So
that was gonna be the you know, their their first
team offense, including they have a check on of course,
Travis Kelcey. Well, the very first playing preseason, Hollywood Brown
(30:53):
goes down. They had to bring in Juju who was
cut from the from the Patriots, bring him back. And
then two week two in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes takes
out Rashid Ris' trying to recover fumble and then him
for the rest of the season. And and so I
think it took a couple of weeks and they ended
up trading for DeAndre Hopkins getting him in. And then
Isaiah Pachi was on k but he wasn't right. Yeah,
(31:13):
but I'm saying but but but but it was still
an adequate body, you know. And then then of course
Isaiah Pacheco went down and they brought Kareem Hunt in
off the couch. Kareem Hunt, that's a that's redemption story
within itself obviously from a lot of us who know
what took place in twenty eighteen for him to get
back and they had this second chance in Kansas City.

But you look at that Patrickson, so Patrick and not
having the the the offense going into the season that
he was expecting to have, the offense was gonna look differently.
So now you've got a piece mill stuff together, and
and and along the way, the Chiefs lose uh Jalen
Watson on the on the defensive side as a quarterback,
and that that took bags as defensive system just out

of the way because he was one of those lockdown corners.
So you get them back, you get him back. They
don't know the season a long with trum a mini
Hue plus the offense starts to click a little bit.
But then you're bringing back Hollywood Brown early Holly, you
know any of the team. Hollywood Brown's out for the year. Yeah,
but he comes back.

You because they got that making a Super Bowl run.

Yeah, he's back in the He's back. And then of
course you bring the chuckle backs. So now you've got
the offense on steroids now because you've got you got
well known players that are back.
