the Eagles and so much going on. We're here at
the convention Center, Radio Row. Let me welcome in. My partner,
he is.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Yo, depends on how I want to start this thing.
If I want to start roasting you. I haven't even
seen you up maybe a half hour ago, and the
streets already tumbing up. Timmy telling me when you see
your man Rob, you got a roast them.

Speaker 7 (02:07):
I said, I gotta roast Rob for it. That's what
I do.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
Anyway, they said, because everyone else literally got one wing
at the wing Testy Bounty, who is around here somewhere there?
They are right there, one of the sponsors here. They
had a little booth. Everyone got a wing with the
paper towel. They said, you had at least fifty five wings.
How does one? Did you come back with a different mustache?

(02:30):
Did you come back with a hat? Did you come
back with a hoodie? On? How did you get fifty
wings when everyone literally got one wing?

Speaker 7 (02:36):
As a taster, please explain yourself.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
They looked at me. They said, you look like a
guy who enjoys wings. We love your radio show on
Fox Sports Radio, and we want nothing more than to
make you happy.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
And everybody you no shame, No, I have no shame.

Speaker 6 (02:55):
They said you literally, for those of you who are
gonna be watching the podcast, you'll see my hands right now.
They said, you walked out of here like this, like
walked out with about two feet high of wings. And
then that's what the street. And then I tell me, hey,
I love what you're doing. They tell me about you and.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
About the wings.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
And then of course also you know, like Elijah and
everybody forcing Church's chicken on me.

Speaker 7 (03:15):
Never heard right, what.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Look look like that wouldn't meet up with you with
me in this right?

Speaker 1 (03:20):
I mean they offered it to me, okay, and I
still took it. Okay, we're giving out churches chicken.

Speaker 7 (03:26):
You know good. It's a separate from the other wings. Yes,
this is concerning.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
Yes, is there a Rob G Google's wings anonymous?

Speaker 7 (03:34):
I'm concerned Wings Anonymous?

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Rob G your keyboard is loud because.

Speaker 7 (03:39):
He has to search that hard to get you some help.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Alex, that was so good.

Speaker 7 (03:43):
I mean, oh, by the way, you're not done. What
else did you have.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
What the meatball from subway? Not a half of meatball grinder?
And tonight yes, after the show. Yes, we're going to Emeralds. Yes,
and I'm telling you you guys haven't been yet. I've
been twice. I'm not bragging. I'm just telling you you
will love the food looking for it. Sure you know
Emeralds Lagassi is from here here signature.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Yeah, so we're gonna go there.

Speaker 8 (04:08):
Quickly to answer your question before we get in today's topics.
There is a Wings Anonymous of Louisiana. There's one hundred
and sixty seven members. Wow, one sixty seven sixty eight.
Rob is in it.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
Now, all right, there we go.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
All right, we got a great show for you. We're
looking forward to it. Mark Stein, you know I'm not.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
It's hard for us to not do any.

Speaker 7 (04:28):
NBA right now.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Of course Fox Sports Radio inside NBA Insider will do that. Uh,
Darren Smith, are we doing now? Darren from the City?
Yesterday was the show earlier? We'll do that. One's gotta go.
This is on our number two and the Hot Seat saga.
But tell wow, the hot Seed here live from New Wallace,

(04:50):
smoked and we got some barb barbecue sauce for his back.
I don't even know if he'll be able to go
to the restaurant with us after.

Speaker 7 (04:57):
Yeah, he might be.

Speaker 6 (04:58):
He might feel the little tension, Yeah, feel some type
of way. So we'll we apologize in advance.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
All of that and much more.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Uh, but let's get started here.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
The super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Obviously, Patrick Mahomes going for his third straight first in
the Super Bowl era. You know, people have already got
him always going for Brady. He wants he's going to
be the gold. He's on track. Obviously, if he's able
to win this, Uh, it would give him four super Bowls,
three in a row, you know, like like it's it's
unprecidented territory, especially in the Super Bowl era. But also

(05:32):
I think we we you know, for the super Bowl.
When it comes to performances in the Super Bowl, he
really hasn't. Last year, Rob G I think was his
best super Bowl?

Speaker 5 (05:42):
Am I right?

Speaker 1 (05:43):
That was by far his best super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
In his first two Super Bowls.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Fifty seven percent completion, two hundred sewn, seventy eight passing yards,
two touchdowns, four picks, and sixty five to quarter of
passer rating.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
Like really really not good.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
His stats overall career wise, seven touchdowns, five picks, and
an eighty five point two passer rating.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
Not impressive.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
And the reason I bring this up now is today
is the anniversary of Eli Manning second Super Bowl. Of
course he was the MVP. That what we always know
the first one, right, that was David Tyree. David Tyree
and the helmet and all that.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
Talking about him, and we didn't know him before that,
we ain't seen him after, but dagd he got that moment.
I you know, you gotta have you gotta capture that
moment when you get opportunity.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
No, that was one of the ald timers. And you
know we talk about all the time. Eli also had
to get out of the way of pressure. I mean,
it's a big time and that didn't people go ohlways
lucky he threw it. A guy goed that one't the
end of the game. He stied to throw the touchdown
the Platsco powers, Yeah, to beat the Patriots who were
eighteen and er.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
I mean, that was a big moment. And here's my
real concern.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
My real thought here is when you talk about Super
Bowls and I just gave you the number seven touchdowns,
five interceptions and a passer rating of eighty five point two.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Eli Manning and his.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Two Super Bowls in which he won the Super Bowl
MVP twice, average of two hundred and seventy five passing yard,
sixty six percent completions, three touchdowns, one pick, and a
passer rating of ninety.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
Six point two.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Two signature throws won to manningham up the sideline that
was beautiful one of David Tyree right, and two MVPs.
As we talked about, Eli Manning and no situations, has
outperformed Patrick Mahomes. And in fact, if I was looking
for a quarterback to play big in a big moment,

(07:51):
I would take Eli Manning ten times out of ten
over Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 7 (07:57):
Okay, you done, because I ain't done. You know what's
funny bout what you just said right there, Eli Manning.

Speaker 6 (08:05):
Wouldn't pick Eli Manning out of ten because you listen,
Eli Manning, to his credit, everything you said is factual.

Speaker 7 (08:12):
He absolutely had two great games. That's it you.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
Nothing else about Eli has been special, nothing of We're
talking about the Super Bowl, right So what I'm saying
is if I'm but if I'm making this selection, I
have to go off the full body of the person
right to say all right, no, I.

Speaker 7 (08:31):
Yes, I do.

Speaker 6 (08:32):
Oh, I know a matter of fact, let me for it.
You don't I do. I'm going to say, who can
I believe in? Who can I trust in? Because many
different obstacles coming to Super Bowl. Sometimes we might not
have the offensive weapons like we normally have. Sometimes our
defense might not be great. And I want to go
with a guy that I've seen when in multiple facets,
whether it be shootouts, whether it be defensive, whether it

(08:52):
be one score games. And that's Patrick Mahomes throughout the
duration of his career. And if you look at right
now the run they're on and oh in one score
games right now, they won seventeen straight one score games.
That is absolutely ridiculous. That means when the game is
on the line, they are going to get it done.
And oftentimes just usually him making a play, whether it's
with his legs, whether it's I said oftentimes with his legs,

(09:16):
or with his passing or some heavy play.

Speaker 7 (09:18):
Shoot we were talking about all week.

Speaker 6 (09:19):
Even drawing a penalty, I absolutely believe it's gonna go.
He's gonna go down as the most clutch, the most
winning is when you need a play.

Speaker 7 (09:28):
That's the guy you want.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
But somehow to credit again Eli for whatever is worth,
might even mess around to get in the Hall of Fame.
We'll find out in twenty four hours or so, based
off two games of his whole life.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
It's not based off two games. He also is top
ten all time and touchdowns and passing. Y'all stop saying
it's about two games because top ten, so then you
he's top ten. Stop saying that lay twenty years you're
you're disrespecting the football writers who vote for the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
I'm serious, how much?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Because you think they're idiots and they looking at game
not looking.

Speaker 7 (10:03):
I'm not too far.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
It's two games and it's two names.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Ain't got ready to do it?

Speaker 9 (10:08):
Manning?

Speaker 5 (10:09):
No, it doesn't.

Speaker 6 (10:10):
Every time we had this conversation, rob Ge, what does
he like to bring up he beat Manning, he beat
Andy Manning. No, you I mean he beat Brady. He
beat Brady. You bring up Brady because they're saying about Manning.
It has nothing to do with man It is the
fact that he beat up. He beat Brady. His last
name is Manning. No, that family owns the NFL. They
literally have their own network to watch his games. They

(10:31):
literally did the Pro Bowl and he have nothing to
do with the football writers.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Who ode.

Speaker 7 (10:40):
What else has he done that?

Speaker 5 (10:41):
You couldn't be more wrong? He literally disrespecting the writers.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Who cover this first, who are at every game. Give
them some credit.

Speaker 6 (10:51):
First of all, you've already absolutely has done nothing else
that was that significant to be top eight, all the fame.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Top You can't be touchdowns, top ten in passing, y'all.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
You don't even like now to ten. So how does
he get to skip everything else? He don't have to
be an All Pro? He can just go to the
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
How many all Pro means right now? A Hall of
favor for all pros? And Tom Brady's Patrick Mahomes All Pro?

Speaker 7 (11:18):
This year he has been He's been an MVP.

Speaker 6 (11:20):
Tom Brady's been an MVP, Brett Farve's been an MVP,
Aaron Rodgers been an MVP. I'll go Joe Montanna has
been there. I'll go down the line of guys who've
done this. Eli Manning never even been on Pro but
he gets to just go to the Hall of Fame.
Eli Manning only won forty something games and lost sixty seven.

Speaker 7 (11:35):
After the after the Super Bowl meeting.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
He ain't even doing nothing else played all those years,
only went to the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
He tore down the eighteen on sixth season to eighteen
and O Patriot, that's my point.

Speaker 7 (11:46):
You keep bringing up Brady exactly my point for eighteen
and oh pay exactly my point. Boy.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
If he if he would have beat anybody else, would ten.
Wouldn't be cheaking about ten if he be playing so long.
Matthew Stafford's going to be like the top five quarterback
and all these ratings, what stats, what's done?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
When he went play he won the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
He to two picks and he threw two picks. That's
why he got us to get the MVP.

Speaker 7 (12:11):
There's not a.

Speaker 6 (12:12):
Personal live who thinks that Eli Manning is more talented
than Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
I take anything person any day.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
I would take he's got any day in a big
game over Matthew staff You would be the go look
at the numbers and so look at the numb Matthew.

Speaker 6 (12:25):
Stafford and getting you want to just go by the
duration of his career, I would take.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
I wouldn't.

Speaker 6 (12:30):
Literally the definition of mid is Eli Manning. He has
the five hundred record literally just five hundred. How you
play all.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Those years and you only go to the playoffs six times?

Speaker 7 (12:39):
You're that great?

Speaker 6 (12:39):
How you never all pro? How you don't have any
other significant thing that you've done.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Top ten and touchdowns top ten and and ye pass and.

Speaker 7 (12:47):
Gave every other quarterback we've been talking.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
About, he was a man. He played.

Speaker 7 (12:51):
About to play that.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
Lamar Jackson's about to beat that, Matean Stafford's about to
beat that.

Speaker 5 (12:55):
But they didn't beat Jon Daniels gonna beat that.

Speaker 6 (12:58):
All these dudes are gonna beat that because if they
play fifteen twenty years, they will too. You know, Goodwill
ain't nothing about Eli Manning. And I'm not saying he's
a horrible quarterback.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
He had.

Speaker 6 (13:07):
He had a nice career. Good quarterback. Hall of Fame,
I think, not and freight than Patrick and the guy
that I would take over Patrick Mahomes. Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
If I had to pick between the football writers who
cover the league or you, I'm taking the football writers.
Ever keep put I'm gonna put that out there. You
keep putting, put that out there, putting in because I
think you're discounting the writers who cover this league.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
They know they know what I'm putting everybody know what.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
They know who belongs in the Hall of Fame, and
it is Eli Manning.

Speaker 7 (13:36):
Because of two games. That's all I want.

Speaker 6 (13:38):
I want to ask her to say, here lies Eli
Manning a Hall of Famer because the two games.

Speaker 7 (13:43):
That's all I wanted to say.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven,
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Who would you
rather have seen?

Speaker 7 (13:53):
Eighty seven?

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Patrick Mahomes or Eli Manning. I mean, this is like,
it's Patrick Mahomes has seven touchdowns and five picks in
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
That's your that's your Massagah.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Absolutely, you kidding, Absolute, continue that conversation.

Speaker 7 (14:07):
I'm taking him.

Speaker 1 (14:07):

You want Eli, you want Patrick Mahomes I said Patrick,
He said, Eli, what say you?

Speaker 7 (15:25):
A seven seven ninety nine on Fox?

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Who All right, let's kick it off. Let's start with
Richie in Maine. You're on the yard couple foxporituaiting.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
It's up, Richie.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
What's happening?

Speaker 7 (15:36):
Richie? You there?

Speaker 5 (15:37):
All right, let's go, let's go to Stanley and Maryland.

Speaker 7 (15:40):
What's that?

Speaker 5 (15:42):
Stanley and Maryland? You're on the odd couple? Fox Portuitio.

Speaker 7 (15:45):
What's up Stanley?

Speaker 10 (15:47):
How you are doing?

Speaker 11 (15:48):
Brothers? Mr Washington Commander and mister Parker.

Speaker 7 (15:54):
That's funny. What's up brother?

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (15:57):
Second cousin to Tory Schmith. I love mentioning that two
times Super Bowl champion.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
Yea, why not? That's something to be proud of.

Speaker 11 (16:06):
Right, that's my family. I love him to a. We
used to do the five four three two one and
then he got it. Man, I love it. But anyway,
now I'm a Giants fan, lifetime Giants fan forty plus
six over here, you know what I'm saying, and distinguished
Marine two and like, now I want to point out
a couple of things, like now, if we're gonna go

(16:26):
to the Billy Goat that I called Tom Shady, Okay,
he opened up three gates, so if we went to
go to asterisks, we shoot put three asterisks by three
super Bowl because he opened those gates and pun intended. Now,
when it comes to Peyton Manning, he had to go
to different teams and it took him mountain of years
to get the last one. Eli stayed put through all

(16:51):
the bs that we had going on and still went
two for two with MVPs and four years against the
Billy Goat and Peyton Manning was a better regular season quarterback,
but Eli was a better postseedon quarterback. And mister Parker
and mister Washington, I gotta ask you a question. Didn't

(17:12):
Eli lead the league like one or two seasons with
the fourth quarter most comeback?

Speaker 10 (17:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
If that could be possible? What are you so? What
do you remember?

Speaker 6 (17:22):
You keep bringing up payon we talking about Patrick Mahons
in New York.

Speaker 7 (17:27):
Eli over over Patrick. That's what you're.

Speaker 11 (17:29):
Saying, automatic, because I mean it's not just those two
Super Bowls, but like the fourth quarter comeback.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
All right, come on, I gave you a Super Bowl.
I can't no doubt.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
All right, she appreciated, Thank you, got Toy Smith, Thank
you Stanley. Let's go to Michael in Texas. You're on
they couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Michael?

Speaker 7 (17:47):
Mike?

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Go all right, Let's go to there, Travis and we
know you're in the yard couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
Travis, Yeah, how are you guys doing well?

Speaker 9 (17:59):
Hey, I'm ticking and Eli manning the way Mahomes has
played in the Super Bowl. If the Niners would have
got one call on that hold on third and fifteen
against Mahomes or against both, he would have won in
twenty nineteen. Elijas more clutching the Super Bowl. That's all
I gotta say.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
That's all you need to say, because it's true.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
It's all right. I love it.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Facts. Thank you, Travis, appreciate it. How about your Rome
and Charleston. You're on your su Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
What's up?

Speaker 10 (18:31):
Hey? Rob? You and Stephen Asmith you both need to
go get them Mr Mr work during tomorrow, dude, tell
them callum medical people as fucked shet up. Stephen A
Smith and Rob partner for some MRI I work on
their head tomorrow, all right, tell them what.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
Do you what are you saying? Stay off the weed.
That's what they're dealing with. Both of them need to huh.

Speaker 10 (18:52):
I don't know what it is, but there's definitely something
cognitive going on. MRIs the muff Okay.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
All right, Hey, thanks to Roe.

Speaker 7 (19:01):
Appreciate it him. I had to tell you who he
was picking.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
How about Drew in New Jersey, you're in the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
What's that that's true?

Speaker 12 (19:09):
I think I would still take Eli in a big game. However,
I don't think that means you're a Hall of Famer.
I mean, I'd probably take Jill Flacco over Lamar Jackson.
I'd probably take.

Speaker 10 (19:22):
Be left Over over.

Speaker 12 (19:24):
James Harden, But I still wouldn't take those guys in
the regular season.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
But that's not what we're talking about, Drew. So we're
talking about the.

Speaker 12 (19:32):
I don't think that makes you a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
No, Drew, in the history of the NFL, that eighteen
and old Patriots team went down, That's a part of
NFL lore and history. Stop trying to negate that. Had
Tom Brady and the Patriots won, you wouldn't have heard
the end of it.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
That's how big it was. Period. Thanks Drew, Drew went wrong.

Speaker 7 (19:53):
When he right, he ain't wrong? When are you right?
All right?

Speaker 6 (19:56):
We got Mark Steinder was a bunch of NBA who
may go, where's the trade deadline is?

Speaker 7 (20:01):
Now?

Speaker 6 (20:01):
About seventeen hours of sow with a K? Yeah, as
what that is true about?

Speaker 7 (20:06):
That? They got the Big three in Milwaukee.

Speaker 6 (20:08):
Now they got to relax with these big threes calling
the Big Three with Kyle Kuzman. Ain't nothing big about that.
We'll talk about that in just a moment. Right now,
it is who in there? Monzilanos Hi, guys, hos Monty,
how are you?

Speaker 1 (20:21):
We are like I got two belt loops open. We're
already nice like crazy days listen, Manzi, he ain't lying.
The moment has been amazing.

Speaker 7 (20:31):
Manci. You want me to run down my menu?

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Yes, please do.

Speaker 5 (20:34):
I had ex benedict with pull pork.

Speaker 7 (20:36):
Today.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
I had this, uh they called a creole fish dish
that was stuff with crawfish. Yesterday I had what did
it happened with the first day where we're going ahead? Oh,
we had a bunch of catfish and shrimp. It's been insane.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
And then I heard Bob Parker had like two hundred
and fifty wings. Yeah, okay, he.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
Is now a member of the Wings anonymous here.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
I heard that.

Speaker 5 (20:55):
That's cool.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
I get it, I get it. I'm not judging. No,
he has a wing house that they just keep bringing
them out.

Speaker 7 (21:02):
Oh, I've seen it right here from wingman.

Speaker 5 (21:04):
Yeah, we go to waste.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Yes, No, you're right, you're right.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
The animals already dead you might as well eat it.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
I'm with you. They don't go to college all you
know what I mean, they don't get married. We're gonna

NBAV designer I know, right, distributor of the Stein line
substack mark us up man happen all the week. But
let me tell you the NBA said, hold on, NFL,
hold my drink.

Speaker 7 (22:06):
And the ain't been dropping some stuff on us. Man,
how are you?

Speaker 10 (22:08):
Where's come?

Speaker 9 (22:09):
I don't have any clothes.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Wet Travis ma They got to get you set up.
But now now Mark, you live in Dallas, you got
to give us the skinny. You're around that franchise. You
know they dumped Luca. They basically said, we don't we
don't want them. We're not paying a three fifty. Can
you give us some des.

Speaker 7 (22:27):
What's going on? Something else behind the scenes, right?

Speaker 13 (22:29):
I mean, I know everybody always asked that, and look,
I've covered it, I'm living it. I've talked pretty much
about nothing else since then. But it's still it's still
very hard to believe, very hard to process, very hard
to comprehend. But basically, I know nobody wants to believe it.
But what I've been reporting and what others have been

(22:51):
reporting really is at the heart of this that basically,
after years of you know, having these concerns whatever you
want to talk about, conditioning, weight, diet, I mean, that's
certainly a factor. How long this isn't going on was
a factor in the Mavericks' minds, and Niko Harrison really
wanted Anthony Davis. I mean, that was probably the hugest

(23:14):
part of this, on top of when those on top
of the concerns, it's the fact that Luca's up for
a three hundred and fifty million dollars contract this summer,
which would have been the largest contract in league history.
But again, those are all the Mavericks reasons for doing
it that Please don't take that for me agreeing with them.
I am of the mind and the position you cannot

(23:36):
trade Luka Doncic. I don't care what the concerns are.
I don't care what your list of issues is, even
you know, finn him to the contract and then trade
him if you have to. But what I will continue
to say, and obviously I was not consulted, this was
not my trade. Luka Doncic on his worst stay, with
whatever concerns you want to raise, is the third worst

(23:59):
basketball player on Earth. And you cannot trade one of
the world's three best players at the age of twenty
five when he hasn't asked to be traded. And basically,
if Anthony Davis Anthony Davis has to lead the Mavericks
to a championship, that is the only way that.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Local.

Speaker 13 (24:23):
I mean, you cannot imagine I can't even put into
words for you. The level of heartbreak and anger in
the city where I live it is. The reaction is
something like I've never seen, I heard.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
And I've said this to you before.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
I don't know if they said it on the air,
but people are the comparisons of what this was like
for some twenty year roles down there. I just cannot
get over they There was one tweet or somebody was
saying they compared it to JFK getting shot, and I'm like, dude,

(25:00):
guys get traded all the time. I get it, Mark, really,
I get it. Like he's twenty five years old, he's
an international star. People make it like the biggest thing
Mark is not that great players haven't been traded before.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
But I agree with you at that.

Speaker 7 (25:17):
Age age, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
That is the part, Am I right that that's the
shocking part, not not that a great player has been traded.

Speaker 13 (25:25):
He's twenty five. He's been All NBA First team five
straight season. No, he won't be this year because of injury.
But again, he's twenty five.

Speaker 11 (25:35):
He didn't ask out.

Speaker 13 (25:37):
He wanted to be here for his whole career.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
Like he bought a house, didn't he just say close.

Speaker 13 (25:44):
No, no, no, I mean that's that reporting was No,
he was he was due to close on the house
by month's end. But basically yes, I mean he was
in the market for a new house. Okay, that was
going to happen by the end of the month. I you,
I'm sure you guys saw his He wanted to be
here for his whole career. And again, the Mavericks willingly

(26:07):
did this. They initiated it and executed the trade. And
it's just Saturday's the first home game. I mean, it's crazy.
Luca is on course to make his debut Saturday afternoon
with the Lakers. Also, Saturday afternoon, the MAVs play their
first home game after a five game road trip. This
all happened with the team on the road. So again

(26:27):
I'm like, like, obviously, Lebron leaving Cleveland was scenes that
we also won't forget, but that was the player's choice,
right right, right right. This is the team willingly sending
away a generational talent. And so again they've got to
win a championship in pretty short order in the next

(26:49):
year or two to somewhat pacify their fan base. Like,
I don't buy that that won't bring some of the
fan base back. But you know, Rob just said it there.
You know, I have a high school senior at home.
He didn't grow up with Durknavinski. Luka is his Dirty, right.
Every kid in this city, even with the Cowboys here,

(27:11):
every kid in town has a Luca Jersey. I mean,
Luca is the Dirk of this younger generation.

Speaker 7 (27:17):
And maybe even better.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
I mean he's probably better than what Dirk was at
the time, and Dirty was incredible.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, and Mark, let me ask you this. Let's go
to the Warriors and Kevin Durant. I love that. Kevin
Durant's like, I'm not interested in going back there. I
don't want to go to the Warriors.

Speaker 5 (27:33):
What do you make of that?

Speaker 1 (27:34):
And his rebuff up buffing of the Warriors.

Speaker 13 (27:40):
It's fascinating because Golden State. Look, we've seen this since
the summer. The Warriors tried to get Paul George, they
tried to get Lowry markin and even if you go
back to the last trade deadline, if you remember, they
were trying to inditiate talks with the Lakers to try
to get Lebron and Rich Paul shut that down and

(28:00):
just said no, don't don't eat let's not even start this.
Lebron's not going from the Lakers to the Warriors. But
the Lakers have been chasing a star now for you know,
a year, because they're trying to extend Stephan Curry's window
and give him every chance to compete for another title,
compete for a fifth championship. But you know this is

(28:23):
been coming. This chatter's been going around all week and
Jake Krisher and I we reported this earlier today on
my subtack. We were the first to report that Kevin
Durant has strong reservations about going back to the Warriors,
and it's proven to be even strong, like he just
flat out did not want to go. That was conveyed
to the Warriors, and the Warriors basically said, okay, we

(28:45):
cannot we can do this trade with Phoenix, but we
know Kevin Durant doesn't want to be here. So that's
not a very smart move to go ahead with that
and bring Kevin Durant here against his will. So I
reported it. I'm looking at how much two three hours
ago exactly when it was. I got to look it
up here, But yeah, two three hours ago. Based on

(29:07):
everything I've been told, the Warriors have shifted their focus
now to trying to complete a Jimmy Butler trade, and
you know, let's see if they can get that across
the finish line. Miami needs a trade partner for Jimmy Butler,
the Sun. If the Sun can't trade Bradley Beal and
if the Sun don't have a trade partner for Durant,

(29:29):
there's just no way for them functionally to get Jimmy Butler.
And so the Heat basically are faced with the situation
of do we really want to bring Jimmy Butler back
after more than a month of trying to trade him
and after all the things that have been said between
those two parties. No, So let's see if the Warriors
and Heat and get this thing done, because I think

(29:52):
we know Miami wants to move on and Golden State
have to do something significant. I mean, look what's going
on in the West. The Lakers just got Luka Doncic,
the Spurs just got Steer, and Fox just getting in
the playoffs in the West is not going to be easy.

Speaker 6 (30:08):
Mark Stein, our guest the Steinline on X and Fox
Sports Radio NBA Insider, Let me, I mean, what do
they do? You just mentioned all these scenarios, but in
less than twenty four hours, if nothing happens, how does
KD go back to the Suns in the locker room
and just move on like I didn't know that they
want to get why they want to get rid of me?

Speaker 7 (30:24):
How does that play?

Speaker 13 (30:25):
KD, to my knowledge, does not want to be traded.
He has been urging the Suns.

Speaker 7 (30:31):
To right, So how does that make him feel like?
I mean, hey, y'all want to get rid of me?
I want to be here.

Speaker 13 (30:36):
The problem is the problem the Suns have is because
they can't move Bradley Beal because Bradley Beal holds the
no trade clause and he can shut any trade that
involves him down. Phoenix is going nowhere. They're in this.
They have the highest payroll in the league. The Suns
are going to have to You're not trading Devin Booker,

(30:58):
So I mean, trading Durant is really their only option
because now I think they finally realized after you know,
way too late in the game. You know, they've spent
all this money on this trio that is not even
close to championship contention. So they're gonna have to deconstruct it.
And if Bradley Beals is gonna block any trade you
try to put him in. Moving on from Durant is

(31:20):
probably the only option. I mean, Devonsisher just became the
number one all time leading scorer in franchise history, So
the Suns have very limited optionality. But I think in
the short term, I think we're going to see Durant
stay there and finish the season. Where it goes after
the season will obviously be one of them. I mean,
we'll be talking about that all off season.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
All right, Mark Man, we appreciate it, thank you so much,
sitting here Especia the week. But NBA has a bunch
of storylines as well, Mark Stein, give him a follow
the steinline on X all right, we got Shekel City
and NFL is trying to go global.

Speaker 7 (31:53):
Is that a good thing?

Speaker 6 (31:53):
We'll tell you it is the Acauple, Robin Kelvin hanging
out here.

Speaker 7 (31:56):
In New Orleans. Is Fox Sports Radio. No, you know what.

Speaker 5 (32:01):
Alex sees you do see us right now?

Speaker 6 (32:04):
And also keep in mind, Alan, you do know this
is a podcast right meaning like the Nona put it
back now. This man has a sub in our face
right now, and we're going to dinner like two hours.
This is ridiculous, utterly ridiculous right now. And I was
all concerned about me. I've been walking off all this food.
But it's been amazing here in New Orleans so far.

(32:26):
And we're halfway through the week. And see ide couple

Welcome to Shekel City. Parkers against the spread, all.

Speaker 5 (33:07):
Right, two and one last night?

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Any one I lost was the Lakers beating the clownsh
But I was two and one last I thought I
had the hat trick going. Anyway, I'm now thirty three
and thirty six three. If I go three and o tonight,
we're back to five hundred. I'm looking forward to it.
I hear what you say, you see if you're gonna
go three and Cavaliers minus six and a half at

(33:29):
Detroit taking on the Pistons.

Speaker 5 (33:31):
Remember they lost me good?

Speaker 7 (33:32):
Yeah, yeah, they might win that game.

Speaker 5 (33:34):
I got Milwaukee minus not and a half.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
They're taking on Charlotte, bad Milwaukee, and I got the
Miami Heat plus one and a half at Philadelphia. Philadelphia played,
uh right, yeah last night.

Speaker 7 (33:49):
Ye had a triple double, big game from from MBAT.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
So I'm gonna go with Miami Heat plus one and
a half, Milwaukee Bucks minus not and a half and
the Cleveland Layer minus six and a half.

Speaker 5 (34:01):
And remember the felt Man, This one's for you.

Speaker 7 (34:05):
What's that rop?

Speaker 5 (34:07):
I'm not telling you who to bet on?

Speaker 7 (34:08):
Did you tell them?

Speaker 5 (34:09):
I'm telling you who I bet on?

Speaker 6 (34:11):
All right, three and m we'll see if you can
get back to five hundred. There's some also some more
NFL news since we are out here in the Super Bowl,
and that is that the NFL is having a game.
It's gonna be in Australia and what was it twenty
twenty six, Uh, they're gonna be heading out that way,
which I mean at the NFL. Obviously they always have
the europe Games where you might as well. Just put

(34:32):
the Jacksonville.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
It was there, but it ain't the same as traveling
to Australia, where I'm.

Speaker 7 (34:37):
About halfway around the whole other side.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
Of the world.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
I'm not even lying to you. When I got off
that plane, it was fourteen hours with the tail. It
was fourteen hours NonStop from Los Angeles. I went in
nineteen ninety two. And when I got off that plane,
first of all, the plane had two decks to it.
Five hundred passengers on the flight five.

Speaker 7 (35:00):
That's crazy double deck.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
And when I got off the plane.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
I felt like I was in a new world. Like
that's how far away?

Speaker 7 (35:07):
You want to know?

Speaker 5 (35:08):
Why they say down under?

Speaker 7 (35:09):
Yep?

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Like you feel like you're isolated. It's fourteen hours NonStop
over water.

Speaker 6 (35:16):
Yeah, there's no land, man, you just between the loss
You're just yeah, if you feel like I'm nonxious, am
I seen the same thing over you know?

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Look the air sick. It's unbelievable. Left flight.

Speaker 5 (35:28):
I can't believe they're playing us.

Speaker 7 (35:29):
That's too far. I get.

Speaker 6 (35:31):
Listen, Europe, I get because you could argue, hey, the
Rams going to play the Giants is about the same
flight as the Giants or an East Coast team going
by going to Europe for six hour flight. Okay, that
makes sense. I can understand that going across the world,
different time zones, you know, changing this.

Speaker 7 (35:50):
And throwing you all.

Speaker 6 (35:51):
You'll be messed up when you cress up and then
you get back and you gotta play. I am sure
they'll give them a bye. But still that just that's
too much to just simply parade around. Uh, football's are
already hard enough. That's why you play once a week.
And now you got me going going.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
We're going there to sell forty jerseys in Australia.

Speaker 7 (36:08):
Seriously, like and and stop it that that I don't
get that. I mean to me again, your agreed. Europe
makes full greed.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
Its full blown.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
They don't care about the player they talk about all
this stuff.

Speaker 5 (36:19):
They don't care.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
They want to make as much money. They want to
enter the game to other people. Yeah, they had how
many failed leagues did they have in Europe?

Speaker 7 (36:28):
The World League whatever?

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Fink for Germany had a team all that, and they
sent all these rejects from the United States over there
to play and it was roundly rejected by the Europeans.
They have football soccer, right, and they're like We're not
gonna If we're gonna watch it, we want to watch
at a high level. We're not gonna watch your reject
Jaguars exactly.

Speaker 6 (36:52):
Stop sending you send me over Patrick Mahomes and Lamar
Jackson and Josh Allen and Jaydon Daniels and Jalen Hurts
send me.

Speaker 7 (37:00):
Stop sending me the Jags in the in the the
dog food.

Speaker 5 (37:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (37:05):
Absolutely, So again that's just another move obviously the globalization.
All sports are trying to do that, especially now with
the advent of the streamings and social medias and people can.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
Watch ball had games in England, right, it wasn't a
link in this past year. So every sport league and
I get it, it's why why limit to just domestically?

Speaker 7 (37:25):
Right? Why not grow? Why not continue to grow the brand?
You can do that.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
And and I understand broadcasting games and doing stuff and
selling merchandise.

Speaker 5 (37:32):
And making that all available, but I think this is
next thing. You know, they want to go to Mars
or you know what I mean, the game.

Speaker 6 (37:40):
You know, don't hello, is Eli listening? Don't tell Elon that.
Elon Musk will try to put team on Mars. For sure,
He'll make that his mission. But yeah, this is a
weird one. Like I said, Europe makes sense even even basketball,
how they'll do games and and and the continent of
Asia because it's already huge huge.

Speaker 7 (38:00):
To your point, football isn't huge.

Speaker 6 (38:01):
Basketball is huge in the continent of Asia, so I
can see how they would want to do that. Speaking
of basketball, we were just talking with mark Stein about
KD back to the Warriors might not happen.

Speaker 7 (38:10):
We'll tell you why I shouldn't. Odd couple
