Speaker 3 (02:20):

Please tell me Chris, Rob G.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Big baller. Money grips. That's what the G stand for.
Money grips over here. But we come back over here,
Alex and we literally just eat. We walk over here.
We had an interview and boom, they have the bounty
has the wings again. Guess who takes two packs, two
packs we finished. Guess who goes and gets one of

(02:53):
these little ham sandwiches. They're walking around and it's just
been really more leave to go over to the clients.
We go to the clos party. Guess who has a
plate full of food. It's it has been remarkable to
see you and I ain't gonna hold you up.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
So and then I went out to eat with Jonas Knox.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
And and had a big, family sized back of barbecue
chips ten minutes ago. So this has been my favorite
moment of the whole trip is watching you eat food, Nally.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I have had a tapeworm. It has been something so
fu official couple sank you? Jonas, Oh yeah I did.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I went to the wall and we should say last
night we went out to dinner because we talked about it.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Emeralds Bob G A little bit expensive, was a little bit expensive.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
It was so expensive we had to leave our table
before they even took our orders.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
I'm not gonna lie to you for a minute there.
I was like, it's black history, man. Why they putt
us in the back because they had to switch us
to another room. We had the actual meals made. Since
financially still expensive, but nice. It was work, but we
pulled food. No no, no, shout out to him. The
food was incredible. We had an assortment of food. Good time.
So we're having a great time.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
It was great, Elijah, three of us.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah, you never had time. Good time.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
So all right, let's welcome in the odd Cuple crew,

Speaker 4 (04:34):

five minutes. We got to of course, a little shackle
city will do that. Weis's advice. Five thirty Pacific time,
eight thirty Eastern and hour number two, a little shop talk,
we'll do that. And b Jon Robinson, the Atlanta Falcons

(04:58):
all pro running back. We'll talk to him him. He's
doing some great things too with big brothers. Don't do
that and last call. So we have a a pluckthora
of stuff for you, a big show for everyone involved.
And don't forget it's a TV theme song Thursday.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Oh yeah, just because we ain't in the studio, don't
mean that. And continue for sure.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
No doubt about it. So let's do that. Let's get started.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
We got a lot to talk about off the Super
Bowl kicking off on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Eagles and of course the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
Chief's going for three in a row, first three peat
in Super Bowl history, super Bowl history.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Yep, we're going now. And the Eagles are trying to win.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
They were there two years ago, came up a little
short against the same cheese.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
This is not the same Eagles team.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
They really have a really good team. It's amazing how
many people are picking the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
A lot of everybody we talked to, even just casual
folks walking around, they believe.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
It's a lot more than you ya think.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
I mean, listen, when you have the success that sa
Kwon Barkley like, they got to the to the the
Super Bowl a couple of years back without a Saquon.
Now you add in Saquon Barkley and how dynamic he's
been and he just he didn't even look like you know,
it's not as if he's tired down throughout the season.
He looks like he's gotten stronger. So that absolutely has something.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
To do with it.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
But the overriding conversation narrative that we are hearing here
is don't let Saquon beat you make Jalen hurts because
he ain't all that and a bag of chips, And
it sounds pretty disrespectful.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
I'm not saying Jalen hurts.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Is Lamar or it was in the running for the
MVP or anything like that. But he had a Super
Bowl to remember, he bought okay, balled out. If it
wasn't for that one turnover right when he fumbled, they
might have won that Super Bowl against the Chiefs this
year when they started rolling and you had your questions,
the numbers weren't there. Put in the last playoff game

(06:51):
in the NFC Championship game, me through the ball, great,
made the big plays and they still were able to
run the ball and they put they put up a
forty five spot.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
What was it, fifty something fifty?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
I was thinking of forty five that the watching it
put up against the line.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Yeah, we're sorry. Stuck in your head. Yeah, think about
the fans. I'm sorry, just I remember that a bit
to double tap your poster that win it's scored. But
you know what, I think it is disrespectful. I really do.
And I get it. When your game planning, you got
two poisons. You got to figure out which one.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
But they're acting like he can't play, like I'm dead serious,
like oh you know, and just make him throw the football.
All you're gonna do is stop sa Kuon Barkley. Do
they understand about the offensive line that's involved.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Do they understand that Jalen Hurts can also hurt you
with his feet?

Speaker 4 (07:42):
You want to you want to put nine people in
the box and try to stay, you know, stop Saquon.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
He can run as well, and he can throw the football.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Michael Parsons this is kind of one of the same
topics of discussions. He had something to say on this
as well. Let's roll with Michael had to say, you
gotta put the ball in the jail and her.

Speaker 7 (08:00):
You're gonna choose the person to have it in the backfield.
I'm choosing Jaysen Hurts.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Every time. You gotta make Jalen Hurts win the game.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
And Engla's been doing a great job of Saquon and
other guys kind of mixing and doing the dirty work.
But respectfully, you gotta have Jalen holding the ball. You
gotta make him make the pass, make him think, keep
the game advantageable. You can't just let them kind of
just run the clock out with Saquon or get creative
with Sequon.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
You gotta have the ball in Jalen hurts your hands.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Here's the reason why, Rob, I think people are saying.
First of all, it's not necessarily fully disrespect when they're saying,
Saquan has had almost a historic as in the greatest
running season ever, so we have to try to stop that.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
So I don't think so much of it is as if.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Jalen isn't about anything or isn't a high quality quarterback,
as much as just a sign of.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
How great Saquan has been.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
But also, to be fair, when you look at what
Jalen Hurts was you talked about it. That Super Bowl
performance was incredible. I mean he was throwing dimes, he
was running, and you're like, man, is he the better
quarterback at least for the night versus Patrick Mahomes and
the issued the challenge has been since then. So you
look at last season, twenty three touchdowns, but he had
fifteen interceptions. So you're like, Okay, I thought I was

(09:10):
getting the super Bowl performance and you would last year.
You didn't get that in a nose dive during the season,
so it had paused for calls, right, you had a
concern there. Then you go to this season and he
only had eighteen touchdowns passing because he ran the ball
a lot and had a bunch of running touchdowns. But
then also Sakuan was running the ball all the time.
So I think the concern is man. And you also
hear the battle that we've heard between he offensive coordinator

(09:34):
Keller Moore and then also Nick Sirianni. There's all the
last year and a half has been issues in battle
the you know, I want to run more. I mean
they want to run more, but I want to pass more.
I can do more. So I think it leads to
us saying, man, can I fully trust him?

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Can I fully say?

Speaker 4 (09:48):
But here is the pushback just right off the of
the rip of all the quarterbacks went out of titles
since nineteen seventy, Hirsch has the second highest winning percentage,
almost seven hundred six ninety seven. He wins a lot
of games, So I know you got to come.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Up with something and figure it out.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
But this, and you knows number one Lamar Jackson, number
one of all is nineteen seventy dude, like this to
win seventy rob g what was it seventy five percent
of his games?

Speaker 1 (10:19):
What twenty four and twenty four and two against the NFC,
that is one of the most great We can start
to show every day with that stattoo.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
That is just crazy. That's Baltimore AFC all the conference.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Like if he gets to the super Bowl, he's winning
because it's an NFC team.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
But I totally get what you saying, like he wins,
oh what out like? He wins?

Speaker 1 (10:38):
But there in lines of trouble is that, well you're winning,
but are you winning because of you? Or you're winning?
But can you He's in that place now where can
you win the big one? Because he's in a weird position.
He hasn't had the success individually as a Lamar as
a Josh as a Patrick mahomes At, Josh Burrow, Joe Burrow,

(10:59):
so he's kind of get judged in that. But then
if you're judging based off the Super Bowl obviously hasn't won.
This game will be played Sunday, but it's like, man,
if he loses, well that's two super Bowls he would
have lost. So he's kind of in this this weird space.
But I think he has a great chance to win Sunday.
He'll make plays, whether it be with his legs or
his arm, and.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
He can look well, he can do both, and that
that that's what I think when when you say that,
like you're saying, oh, yeah, just make him throw the
ball and you'll beat the Eagles. It ain't that easy
because because he doesn't just have to throw the football.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I think.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
But the problem is have we seen him do that
consistently enough to act as if it's not worrisome if
you're them, or to act like you should be worried
if you're the defense.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Like a forty four yard run and in the NFC
Championship game.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
You mean run. We know he can run. That's but
but that's never been a question.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
What I'm saying, like, it's not a like for him
stopping him singer like like he can do both, right,
Like you might be able to slow him down, pass him,
but that doesn't mean that if you're coming with pressure,
he can't one straight.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
He act.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
What I'm trying to say absolutely is a dual threat
and that's where you know, he sees dangerous there, especially
in the red zone. But again, I gotta pick something,
rob that's the name. And if I gotta pick something,
dangd is gonna be Jalen and the ball in his hands,
him having to make decisions.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
I have to live with that.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Versus sa Quon, who's averaging a buck thirty in the
regular season, even more than that in the postseason. That's crazy.
So I have to say, Jalen is gonna have to
hurt us.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
I want I think sa Quan's gonna have one sixty. Okay,
I'm on that number.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Just bet on it, because that is like very specific.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
One sixty all right?

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Is Jalen Hurts
being disrespected heading into Sunday Super Bowl? Does it make
sense to you? Is what Michael Parks is saying? What
is logical and makes sense? Or is he being disrespectful?
We'll continue that conversation next with you. It is the

(14:09):
what he was known for doing on the field.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
I asked you that in a minute.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Brian Dawkins is here joining us now on behalf of
Boyringer and Lily's and it takes two health initiative Pro
Football Hall of Famer in Philadelphia Eagles again, legend, Brian
Dawkins is here with us.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
And now it's great because your former team is in
the Super Bowl again, and you know it.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
I'm seeing Greeny's got I'll see green and White all
about all about this, but yet.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Nice it is there. I like this team.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
I think this is a better team than it was
two years ago. Obviously, say Kwan Barkley, the offensive line,
the defensive line, this is a complete team.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Yes, And here's the thing I'll tell you.

Speaker 8 (14:59):
Like in the beginning of the year, one of the
things I was telling fans and whomever would do an
interview with me, right, there's going to be growing pains.
You have a new offensive court and they do new
defensive court. That you have new personnel. Everybody has to
learn whoevery rd is and how to best utilize those individuals.
The greatest thing that happened to me, happened for them,
in my opinion, is to struggle early.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
They struggled early, and then during.

Speaker 8 (15:20):
The bye week, it is my opinion that they had
tough conversation behind the closed doors, and through those tough
conversations they have begin to play better football to the
point in the playoffs they're absolutely playing their best football.
Right So that's the way you want to trend during
a season. You don't necessarily want to play your best
football the first game, with the fifth game, the sixth game.

(15:42):
All You want to play your best games in the playoffs,
and it seems like the Eagles are doing that.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
Walk me through if you were on this team and
kind of what it would be like from an offensive
end where we had last week the last game jayalen
Hurst loo good. He said, they finally let me out
the straight jacket. He's been wanting to pass more. They
were able to do that. But you got say Kwan,
who's been incredible on an MVP candidate type run. So
how is that when you're in the locker room like
trying to find that balance of Hey, I want to

(16:09):
do more, but they're like, man, we got a workhorse
who's been doing this thing and it's working.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
And that's the thing about it.

Speaker 8 (16:14):
So when you have the talent on the field that
they have receiving cores and the running game, but when
you have an offensive line that can make that running
game special the way that they that they have, you
have to lean into that and that it has to
be something that's reciprocal of understanding to everybody in the
locker room. To be honest with you receive receivers in

(16:36):
the quarterback position. I don't know Jayda enough to say that.
I hear a comment on the TV and all of
a sudden, Oh, he's talking about I don't know him
like that, Like it could be a sarcastic thing, could
have been a funny thing.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
I won't. I won't take that out of out of.

Speaker 8 (16:51):
Context, but what I what I will say is that
to me, there have been some comment I said it before,
there have been some conversations between Jalen and the coaching staff,
but also his teammates about how they are going to
play better, going together together, excuse me, going forward, and
they after that game is when he made that comment.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Before that game, the whole week we were.

Speaker 8 (17:14):
Talking about people were talking about it was something going
on in the lava room, right.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
So to me, they got behind closed doors.

Speaker 8 (17:21):
And had some conversations, some tough conversations, and decided these
are the matter of fact, these are the dances we're
gonna do once we go ball out, And they went
and balled out. So I don't I don't put too much,
you know, too much into the comments.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
The two things I want to ask you. First, I
was a first guest when the Giants decided to pay
Daniel Jones and not say quarme park. That was the
first guest for most people, like what are you doing?
But when the when the Eagles picked them up, did
you know right away, like, oh my god, they just
got another ingredient that can help them get where they

(17:54):
wanted to go and what a season he's hat.

Speaker 8 (17:57):
Yes, not to the extent they have done it. I
didn't see him break records, right, I didn't. I saw
I mean, I was blessed to be an executive during
the time that he came out for the Eagles at
the time, and so one of the individuals that I
looked was we Ham.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
I scouted at him and looked at him coming out
of it.

Speaker 8 (18:15):
His potential was off, like off the chart of him
being a franchise running back. So now that you allow
a franchise running back to come right down the road
to a team with the best offensive line on a game,
That's what I'm saying, bro. So, so what has happened
has happened because say, Kuon feels he feels wanted, appreciated,

(18:40):
and he's free to just be himself. And this is
what happens when he's feels wanted, appreciated and free to
be himself. So thank you Giants again. I said it
probably about ten times.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
And we said it about thirty times exactly.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
We're with you on thank you. Yep.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Hall of Famer Philadelphia Eagle legend Brian Dawkins a guest
with the Odd Couple Robbin over here in New Orleans.
So let's go to the other team you play. I
just mentioned Hall of Famer. You had to stop guys
like Patrick Mahons Stott offenses that Andy Reid would would
you know come up with what's the game plan coming in,
and it's knowing how good they are in closing up

(19:16):
luckers and clothes lucky, he says. Everybody else says they're
good and great at closing out games.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
What's the game plan?

Speaker 1 (19:22):
How do you plan on stopping Patrick Mahomes and the
trickery of Andy Reid?

Speaker 8 (19:26):
Well, the first aspect of any defense is going to
be physicality.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
You've got to be physical with these dudes. You gotta
be physical.

Speaker 8 (19:32):
Any opportunity you got, you get a chance to lay
some stank on some folk, you lay some stank on
some folk. Right, So that's that's that's number one in
my opinion. But here's the other thing. You have to
be someone that moves around. You have to show them
different things. You can't just do the same thing and
allow him to see walk through formations. When I say
walk through formations and walk through this is the formation

(19:53):
that you see and walk through. So these are the
things that we're going to do against this and walk through.
You have to be a team that's versatile to be
able to do some things that maybe catches them off
guard from time to time and potentially cause them to
make a mistake, right, But it also you have to
know who their dudes are. In certain situations red zone,

(20:14):
third down Kelsey is to do. Don't let him catch,
you know, catch football's right, and so there's obviously different
ways of going about doing that, but ultimately knowing how
to take away his you know, his ultimate weapon, which
is Kelsey for the most part, tackling will be a
key issue when it comes to this team, not allowing
them to have their yards have to catch and like

(20:34):
I said, you gotta.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Be physical with these dudes.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
Let me ask you to real quick, do you need
a spy on Patrick Mahomes. He's known in the postseason
to break off a big run, you know, where.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
People expecting the pass or something. How do you defend
him to stop.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Him from you know, getting that big fifteen yard twenty
yard run that changes you know, a possession.

Speaker 8 (20:55):
So I would say that that's a strategic play.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
You don't have to do it all the time.

Speaker 8 (21:02):
But that's another Again, you got to throw different things
at these cats that have been in the playoffs this
time this many times.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Throw different things.

Speaker 8 (21:10):
Maybe if you're versatile enough and you have the talent
enough that vic can rush specific guys and then drop
a guy who can then be the sky right the spy.
So like you, you're still messing with the offensive Lineman's
count this just in case, just in case he breaks
out laying responsibilities, especially again especially as first at key

(21:33):
downs in the red zone.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
You know, you mix those things in.

Speaker 8 (21:36):
So obviously, yes, there's obviously ways to utilize that. I
wouldn't do it every down out all the time, but
in specific key instances. But again, I'm not just talking
about one dude just having align middle line.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
I could be the guy.

Speaker 8 (21:47):
No, sometimes rush him and then drop Carter right not
not Carter three.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Uh, I can't think of his name right now.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Of the Georgia cat, drop him though that matter, drop
that brain fall.

Speaker 8 (22:02):
Yeah, So again mix it up of who that cat
can be, so that that mahomes and the coaches staff
won't know who that person will be.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
All we got to ask you tell us a little
bit more. Be talk about Takes two campaign that you're
a part of. And you had the involvement last month
with the Rose Parade out of course where we are
out there and CALLI tells more.

Speaker 8 (22:20):
Yeah, man, it is a blessing, It's a blessing. One
of the things in retirement that that that I've wanted
to do is blessed people in their total body, right,
so mentally, spiritually and physically. And so this is one
of those mental but also physical things to understand that
there's information that you need to help you live longer, healthier, right.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
And so this hits.

Speaker 8 (22:41):
Home for me because my mom and my dad both
have type two diabetes and they both battle high blood pressure,
so that puts them at risk of developing kiddy disease.
So it takes too campaign is one that it takes
you and your doctor.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Two people.

Speaker 8 (22:56):
It takes two tests, a blood and a urine test,
and that would help the doctors recognize if you are
going down the path of developing developing kidney disease. And
so again, if I can use my platform, the people
want to hear me talk about football. But and then
I give you a little information to help you understand
you that you know going to text your kidneys dot

(23:17):
com for not just you, for not parents, It could
be your uncle, could.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Be your friend, somebody, it doesn't matter who it is.

Speaker 8 (23:24):
This information would could potentially help them to live a
healthier life longer, all.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
Right here, So thank you We got to get you
out of here on this very quickly. For us, we'll
be remiss if we didn't ask. You just talked about
it mental mind, body, spirit. When you would lay somebody out,
you would then say what to them? When you would
lay somebody out in the football field.

Speaker 8 (23:42):
You would pray for him, hallelujah. Don't lock me out
of it. Pray for me, all right, especially if you so.
I'm gonna be real with you. My intent, if you're
to receive this, I want to make you feel pain.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Okay, I understand.

Speaker 8 (23:58):
I don't want to hurt to turn another, but not
again within the rules, right all right there, you can
move a grown man from one spot to the next.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Spot against his reel, against his wheel. That's with that's
in the rules.

Speaker 8 (24:11):
Yeah, so within the rules, I'm a physically as hard
as I can move you.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
From one point to the becks and then bless them
be dark. We are the favorite man.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Appreciate you, love what you doing as well. Stick with us.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
My voice is yeah, you start, I mean, and I'm
starting to feel a little bit too.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
That's what happens.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
We're having a great time out here, screaming all day,
running around, talking, networking and hanging out. It's been a
good time for sure. Rob g so been out here.
A couple of little new football little news that just
happened over a little bit left time.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
All the honors thing is going.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
On, that's going on right across the street, and the
votes are INND we already know they're gonna cast their
ballots for a Rookie of the Year Workie year was
already anounced, but MVP Offen, the Player of the Year,
so on and so forth. So I know you may
not know this, dub, but Rob certainly does.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
He's a degenerate gambler.

Speaker 6 (26:34):
You can still bet now which is who you think
is gonna win these awards. And in the last hour
on Parly Market, Josh Allen's odds to win the NFL
MVP have gone up from fifty three percent to ninety
four percent, and that tracks because in the last week,

(26:57):
two point nine million dollars has been wagered on Josh
Allen to win the m v P at poly market.
Guys history says the quarterback of gets first team All
Pro wins the MVP.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Is this insider trading or is this just some crazyness?
But it's eleven out eleven A. It's eleven in a row.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Eleven in a row because the voters who vote for
one award vote for the up.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
So it doesn't even make.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Sense then, as it is, it's somebody who might have
found out a little something something that kind of passed
it on. Is it the why? Is it like I
got five hundred? What if it's a long shot he wins, Right,
I'll put my five hundred on it. Long shot he wins.
It makes me x amount, you know, But.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
I don't don't.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
I don't know if everybody knows a couple of things.
A the voter already in Seriously, we know, but number two,
the playoffs don't count. But some people, oh well, Lamar
got knocked out. He went to the ALC Championship game.
He's gonna win the.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
M v P.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
He's like, no, guys, A minute that week seven to eighteen,
but seventeen game ended, that was that?

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Was it? Right to vote around? Right? I don't think
there's an upset, yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Mean the only thing would happen would be if it's
been eleven in a row, is there the first year?

Speaker 3 (28:13):
It doesn't happen in the last eleven years?

Speaker 1 (28:15):
You know, eleven twelve years were the vote what's closer
in the Pro Bowl?

Speaker 3 (28:20):
I mean all Pro rob g You.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Know, like if that was close, it wasn't close. And
that's the issue. You got too many people that would
have to change their votes for it to happen for Joshua.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
Speaking of close, we.

Speaker 6 (28:32):
Are about an hour away now, not just from the
MVP being announced, but also the twenty twenty five Pro
Football Hall of Fame class will be announced. Whether Eli
Manning gets in or out. We'll get into that when
we'd find out the news, but we know it's going
to be close one way or the other. Peyton Manning
said today during his media availability that Eli already knows

(28:54):
whether or not he's in this year. Do you think
that if he did know, or he does know that
he got in, that Peyton would be able to keep
that secret or is he's being joy about it because.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
He knows he didn't get in. He doesn't want to
get anybody else.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
I don't even think he would have brought it up.
He wouldn't have volunteered. He could man just looking for
I could have done that either way. He had a
great career.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
But also they do ask him not to, you know
what I mean like that, that's a part of it, like.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Surprise, because they do the whole thing.

Speaker 6 (29:22):
They knock on your door, they give you the jacket, everything,
it's a big thing.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Yeah, So I think Peyton just, you know, maybe he
didn't mean to in the sense of like he did.
They mean too, he didn't have to volunteer this information.
But I don't think I don't legitimately don't think he knows.
So I think, well, he's gonna find out when we
all find out here in about an hour or so.

Speaker 6 (29:41):
That's what I expect him to get in, and then
it's gonna be fireworks whether he gets in or not.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Here on the eye couple an hour, it will be.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
It's interesting because they you know, when we've talked about
this in the past, they've interviewed a bunch of.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Of all pros.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
They had some There was like thirty nine of them
or something, and Tense said yes, Ten said heck no,
Tense that undecided and said I need more time or
something like that.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
So it's but unfortunately those aren't vote.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
But it was a good it was a good indication,
and we were talking about it.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Rob.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Every guest you've ever had, even before me, like a
Hall of Famer, was like, heck no. So it's interesting
like if.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
But the but the thing is, and I get that
I would argue about this, I know, but but I
get that.

Speaker 3 (30:24):
But the thing is, they're gonna have no voice by
the end of the show. It was crazy. And I'm
just saying is that.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
I think people get caught up in that and they
don't realize that for him to make it, you don't
mean like he had to make it to each round
to get there, and if he wasn't, seriously, he could
have easily been eliminated earlier at the twenty five. Yes,
but do you see what I'm saying, Like, like if
you could, because you just gave some unflattering numbers, if

(30:52):
those numbers were to stand true, he wouldn't have made
it past the cut to even be available first ballot.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
That's what I'm trying to say that he.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Absolutely start and as much as you and I have
gone after going at it, I don't think it's crazy
to suggest in a sense that he has two finals
MVPs and he like so that is a huge thing,
especially for that position of quarterback. But ultimately, to me,
if I had to pick, if I would say no,
but it's not crazy. I don't want to make it

(31:22):
like a dude that to walking around with two super
on vps as a quarterback, that absolutely warrant warrant that
at least consideration. But to me, the answer no, But
we'll find out here in about an hour or so.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
All right, NBA trade deadline, when you already know, just
a flurry of trades all over the plow.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
It will started off slow today. Let smack smack smack.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
So the big one Jimmy Butler going to the ward.
This is after Steph Curry said, don't do anything crazy
because you're trying to get from me and all this stuff.
And they did it anyway, and and and and Wiggins
got dealt uh. And people can say, and I know
it's been a second rate Wiggins of late, like last year,
he missed a lot of time, there was some personal

(32:02):
stuff going on. This year not as great. The team
has struggled. They're only at five hundred. They've looked awful
on some nights. They lost by forty points at home
in San Francisco. So there's a lot of stuff not
to like about the Warriors. But does Jimmy Butler going
there really move the needle for you? For you think
that they're now back in the championship hunt. And I

(32:25):
just I know Jimmy Butler played special in the postseason.
He got the Miami Heat to the finals a couple
of times. With this team, I just don't see it.
And they get older, right, Wiggins is a younger guy.
So here they are the next two years, right, Jimmy
Butler with his contract and stuff, and they're older.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
It's surprising. It didn't move the needle for me.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
No, they lost some speed and it then it's shrewder.
They lost some Wiggins. You would say it's maybe a
lesser version of a Jimmy Butler gonna play hard, play deepen,
get some buckets. Yeah, but younger, so they lost some.
They lost some youth there. And my other the other
concern I have, and this I think we would say
is a real concern. Jimmy Butler is a different cat.

(33:13):
He likes to do stuff I don't know. You know,
the team buses, he takes his own ride. Sometimes team planes,
he fly fly himself there, he'll meet y'all there. He's
just a different, unique cat. Going to a team that has,
you know, made their their name and claimed their name.
I should say on like, we're a unity, where this team,
where this family, And I just wonder how would that work.

(33:34):
How would Jimmy fit in with that? When we know
you give him a little bit of time, he clashes.
We've literally seen it every stop of the way. So
I wonder how that works, and specifically, how would that
work with Draymond Green. When Draymond is quick to let
somebody know, this is how we do something. You you know,
that's how Bill Mbierre always said when somebody knew what come, hey,
this is how we do this is these are the expectations,

(33:57):
this is how we run this team. And well he
and Draymond work. That's an interesting one to watch too.
It starts off good, right, Hey, welcome to the team,
But I can see that rubbing Jimmy to him and
him and Draymond having some issues at some point. I
don't think this is they made the if you're going
to zero out of ten, this is a three and
a half move for me. You know, it wasn't nothing,

(34:18):
But I don't think it was a big deal. I
don't think it overly helped them. I'm gonna say it's
to zero for me.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
I'm just I don't think they just swapped out players.
One is older one. It's cause when they won, when
they won, Wiggins was a big part of it. Anybody
know that he said, we don't win twenty two, Yes, Wiggins.
And that's all I'm saying is that Wiggins was a
big part of it.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Yep. And and let's not poo poo it or act
like unpack.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Especially on the defensive end, yes, where he wasn't necessarily
you know, known as that coming in. He got really
good over the years, became a really good defender, made
some big shots for them.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Uh, it was a big part.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
Steve Kerr was actually he was just talking about how
sad he was to have him go. He's like he
just had a son. He's just you know, he's been
we don't win twenty two without it. He was so
great for us. He said, he's one of my favorite
people I've ever coached. So losing that bringing in a guy,
by the way, who didn't want to be at the Warriors.
Oh did we not mention that Jimmy Butler did not

(35:14):
know this trade could have happened two weeks ago? He said,
I don't want to be there. I'm not gonna sign
with y'all. Don't bring your boy in, you know, a
couple of weeks back. So, yes, they finally got a
deal in one hundred and twenty twenty one million a
couple of years, you know. But again with Jimmy, what
does that mean if things go sideways, if he gets tight,
He has no familiarity, He has no stakes in this

(35:37):
in that sense of like I rapport? Does he start?
Jimmy and I don't want to do that. I told
y'all didn't want to be here anyway. I knew I
wouldn't go get along with Draymond. What was he saying
to Miami, I'm not happy and even a happy place
or whatever.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
Yeah, he want to get his joy, Joe, That's.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
What it was, get his joy back. So Jimmy has
been outstanding in the playoffs and maybe they're banking on, Hey,
if we could just get there, we're proven, we've been
there before. We got Draymond, We've got obviously Kerr, We've
got Steph. Maybe and Jimmy's acclamen in the playoffs will
help us.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
But it wasn't a big move for me.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
I understand the Steph Curry thing, but for a team
that's won four championships, I just like, I don't get it.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
I really don't.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
And I'm not saying like you're supposed to roll over
there at five hundred. They're there. You still got to
think about the future, you can't. We talk about all
the time.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
The Celtics protected pick protected pick this year the the U.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
We saw that with the Celtics, they wouldn't trade Bird,
they win trade McHale did win trade Parish and then
they went like twenty years when I won a championship.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
The ninety Celtics, wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
No, And I know they had some terrible mishaps where
people passed Reggie Lewis Budgie Lewis, so they had a
couple of those, but they did hold on to the
other stars way too long.
