Speaker 2 (03:23):
I have had a tapeworm.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
It has been something so fules Oh yeah, I did.
I went to the wall and we should say last
night we went out to dinner because we talked about it.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
Emeralds bob G A little bit expensive, that a little
bit expensive.

Speaker 8 (03:40):
It was so expensive we had to leave our table
before they even took our orders.

Speaker 6 (03:45):
I'm not gonna lie to you for a minute there.
I was like, it's black history man.

Speaker 7 (03:48):
Why they putting us in the back because they had
to switch us to another room. We had the actual
meals made since financially it's still expensive, but nice it
was worth but we pulled the food no, no, no shout.
The food was incredible. We had an assortment of food.
Good time, So we're having a great time.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
It was great, Saga, Elijah.

And b Jhon Robinson, the Atlanta Falcons all pro running back.
We'll talk to him. He's doing some great things too
with Big Brothers.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
We'll do that.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
And last call, so we have a a pluthora of
stuff for you, a big show for everyone involved. And
don't forget it's a TV theme song Thursday.

Speaker 7 (05:21):
Oh yeah, just because we ain't in the studio and
continue for sure.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
No doubt about it.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
So let's do that.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Let's get started. We got a lot to talk about
off the super Bowl kicking off on Sunday. Eagles and
of course the Cheese Chief's going for three in a row,
first three peat in super Bowl history, super Bowl history.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yep, we're going now. And the Eagles are trying to win.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
They were there two years ago, came up a little
short against these same cheese. This is not the same
Eagles team. Uh, they really have a really good team.
It's amazing how many people are picking the Eagles.

Speaker 7 (05:55):
Everybody we talked to, even just casual folks walking around,
they believe it.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
It's a lot more than you.

Speaker 7 (06:00):
Yeah, I mean, listen, when you have the success that
Sakuon Barkley, like, they got to the to the Super
Bowl a couple of.

Speaker 6 (06:06):
Years back without a Saquon.

Speaker 7 (06:07):
Now you add in Sakuon Barkley and how dynamic he's
been and he just he didn't even look like you know,
it's not as if he's tired down throughout the season.
He looks like he's gotten stronger, so that absolutely has
something to.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
Do with it.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
But the overriding conversation narrative that we are hearing here
is don't let Saquon beat you make Jalen hurts because
he ain't all that and a bag of chips, And
it sounds pretty disrespectful. I'm not saying Jalen hurts is
Lamar or it was in the running for the MVP

(06:38):
or anything like that. But he had a Super Bowl
to remember, Okay balled out. If it wasn't for that
one turnover right when he fumbled, they might have won
that Super Bowl against the Chiefs this year when they
started rolling and you had your questions.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
The numbers weren't there.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
But in the last playoff game, the NFC Championship game,
me through the ball, great made the big play and
they still were able to run the ball and they
put they put up a forty five spot.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
What was it fifty?

Speaker 2 (07:08):
I was thinking of forty five that the watching it
put up against the line.

Speaker 6 (07:12):
Yeah, we're sorry, stuck in your head, Yeah, the.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Fans, I'm sorry, just I remember that.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
But a bit to double tap your poster of the
that win that's scored.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
But you know what, I think it is disrespectful.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
I really do. And I get it. When your game planning,
you got two poisons. You got to figure out which one.
But they're acting like he can't play, like I'm dead serious, like, oh,
you know, just make him throw the football. All you're
gonna do is stop Saquon Barkley. Do they understand about
the offensive line that's involved. Do they understand that Jalen

(07:45):
Hurts can also hurt you with his feet? You want
to you want to put nine people in the box
and try to stay, you know, stop Saquon.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
He can run as well, and he can throw the football.

Speaker 7 (07:56):
Michael Parsons this is kind of one of the same
topics of disc Uessons. He has something to say on
this as well. Let's roll with Michael had to say, you.

Speaker 9 (08:03):
Gotta put the ball in the Jalen Hurts hand. If
you're gonna choose the person to have it in the backfield,
I'm choosing Jaysen Hurts.

Speaker 6 (08:09):
Every time. You gotta make Jalen Hurts win the game.

Speaker 9 (08:13):
And the Engla's been doing a great job of as
Saquon and other guys kind of mixing and doing the
dirty work. But respectfully, you gotta have Jalen holding the ball.
You gotta make him make the pass, make him think,
keep the gaming manageable. You can't just let them kind
of just run the clock out with Saquon or get
creative with Saquon.

Speaker 6 (08:31):
You got to have the ball in Jalen hurts his hands.

Speaker 7 (08:33):
Here's the reason why Rob I think people are saying,
First of all, it's not necessarily fully disrespect when they're saying,
Saquan has had almost a historic as in the greatest
running season ever, so we have to try to stop that.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
So I don't think so much.

Speaker 7 (08:46):
Of it is as if Jalen isn't about anything or
isn't a high quality quarterback, as much as just a
sign of how great Saquan has been. But also, to
be fair, when you look at what Jalen Hurts was,
you talked about it that Super Bowl for performance was incredible.
I mean he was throwing dimes, he was running, and
you're like, man, is he the better quarterback at least
for the night versus Patrick Mahomes and the issued The

(09:08):
challenge has been since then, So you look at last
season twenty three touchdowns, but he had fifteen interceptions. So
you're like, Okay, I thought I was getting the Super
Bowl performance and you would last year. You didn't get
that in a nose dive during the season, so it
had paused for calls, right, you had a concern there.
Then you go to this season and he only had
eighteen touchdowns passing because he ran the ball a lot

(09:29):
and had a bunch of running touchdowns. But then also
Sakuan was running the ball all the time. So I
think the concern is man. And you also hear the
battle that we've heard between he offensive coordinator Keller Moore
and then also Nick Sirianni. There's all the last year
and a half has been issues in battle the you know,
I want to run more. I mean they want to
run more, but I want to pass more. I can
do more. So I think it leads to us saying, man,

(09:51):
can I fully trust him?

Speaker 6 (09:52):
Can I fully say?

Speaker 2 (09:53):
But here is the pushback just right off the of
the rip.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Of all the quarterbacks went out of titles since nineteen seventy,
Hirsch has the second highest winning percentage, almost seven hundred
six ninety seven. He wins a lot of games so
I know you got to come up with something and
figure it out. But this and you knows number one
Lamar Jackson number one of all since nineteen seventy due

(10:20):
like this to wins seventy rob g what was it
seventy five percent of his games?

Speaker 7 (10:25):
What twenty four and twenty four and two against the NFC.
That is one of the most great We can start
to show every day with that stattoo.

Speaker 6 (10:31):
That is just crazy that.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
Baltimore all the conference.

Speaker 7 (10:35):
Like if he gets to the super Bowl, he's winning
because it's an NFC team. But I totally get what
you say, like he wins, oh what out like he wins?
But there in lines of trouble is that, well you're winning,
but are you winning because of you?

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Or you're winning?

Speaker 7 (10:51):
But can you He's in that place now where can
you win the big one?

Speaker 6 (10:54):
Because he's in a weird position.

Speaker 7 (10:57):
He hasn't had the success individually as Lamar as a
Josh as a Patrick mahomes at Josh Burrow, uh Joe Burrow,
So he's kind of getting judged in that. But then
if you're judging base off, the super Bowl obviously hasn't won.
This game will be played Sunday. But it's like, man,
if he loses, well that's two Super Bowls he would
have lost. So he's kind of in this this weird space.
But I think he has a great chance to win Sunday.

(11:20):
He'll make plays, whether it be with his legs or
his arm, and he can look well, he.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
Can do both, and that that that's what I think
when when you say that, like you're saying, oh, yeah,
just make him throw the ball and you'll beat the Eagles.
It ain't that easy because because he doesn't just have
to throw the football.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
I think.

Speaker 7 (11:36):
But the problem is have we seen him do that
consistently enough to act as if it's not worrisome if
you're them, or to act like you should be worried
if you're the defense.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
Like a forty four yard run and in the NFC
Championship game, you mean run. We know he can run,
that's right, but but but that's never been a question.
What I'm saying, like, it's not ant like for him stopping.

Speaker 6 (11:56):
Him singer like, like he can do both.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
Right, Like you might be able to slow him down,
pass him, but that doesn't mean that if you're coming
with pressure, he can't run straight.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
He as what I'm trying.

Speaker 7 (12:07):
To say absolutely is a dual threat, and that's where
you know, he sees dangerous there, especially in the red zone.

Speaker 6 (12:13):
But again, I gotta pick something, Rob, that's the name.
And if I gotta pick something.

Speaker 7 (12:17):
Dangd is gonna be Jalen and the ball in his hands,
him having to make decisions.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
I have to live with that.

Speaker 7 (12:23):
Versus sa Quon, who's averaging of buck thirty in the
regular season, even more than that in the postseason. That's crazy.
So I have to say, Jalen is gonna have to
hurt us.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
I want. I think sa Quan's gonna have one sixty. Okay,
I'm on that number.

Speaker 6 (12:36):
Just bet on it, because that is like very specific.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
One sixty all right, eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Is Jalen Hurts being disrespected heading into Sunday Super Bowl?
Doesn't make sense to you? Is what Michael Parts is saying?
What is logical and makes sense? Or is he being disrespectful?
We'll continue that conversation next with you. It is the

(13:01):

Speaker 2 (14:47):
All right? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox?

Speaker 6 (14:49):
That's right?

Speaker 7 (14:50):
Talking about Jalen Hurts. Is he the week leaked for
this offense? Do you believe in him? Do you trust
in him? Or would you say we gotta stop? Say
kwied by any means nessa's there? Seven ninety nine, O.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Fox, have we got Let's kick it off with Ed
in Las Vegas.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio on
Tavy theme song Thursday.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Ed?

Speaker 2 (15:15):
All right, let's move on.

Speaker 11 (15:16):
I think that I think I think Mike A person's
comment was completely left handed. I think that in Philadelphia
can execute the same game plan they did against the Commanders.
The Kansas City Chiefs are not going to win that game.

Speaker 7 (15:28):
I'm with you. I'm with you. Know that was turnovers
though I do. I mean they got the ball more.
I don't know if Kansas season.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
I'm not have to they don't have to get fifty
five points, but they can win with the formula that
that they've been doing. It's not like people are waking
up all of a sudden going, oh, just to let
stop Saquon.

Speaker 7 (15:46):
Really, you think people they're trying to know they've been
trying all year. They just let's set a single season
rushing record right there?

Speaker 6 (15:53):
We got that.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (15:54):
Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
What's up, Drake?

Speaker 12 (15:59):
How you Thanks for taking the call.

Speaker 6 (16:01):
Listen.

Speaker 12 (16:01):
I think it's a little bit of shade towards Jalen
Hurt and putting his name out there. I just needs
nothing to nothing to sneeze at.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Listen.

Speaker 12 (16:08):
He's had some injuries issues this year. He got two
weeks off to rest, so I think he's coming into
this game fresh, ready to go. Everybody knows say Kwhon
Barkley is the straw that stirs to drinks, but don't
act as if they have some sort of quarterback controversy
or they have to have an empty jersey at QB.
All right, He's put himself in the MVP conversation in
years past, and this is a great spot for him

(16:29):
to solidify his legacy. So I think it's unnecessary. The
Eagles are a complete team, including Jalen Hurts, ready to
give Kansas City all they can handle, and he's just
given him a little bit more fuel to the fire
to go out there and shine in the game that
they have more than a puncher's chance of winning. So
I think it's unnecessary. And you went ahead and poked
the bear. Thanks taking a call.

Speaker 7 (16:50):
I think, you know all we keep talking about that
Super Bowl performance. I think there has been just because
there's been a decline from him, some of it again
not as doing, it's just running that I think is
stuck in. People like oh that almost like that peak
version of him. You haven't gotten that back. So I
think there's you.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Don't need to be that like with this team and
that offensive line like that, there's a difference.

Speaker 7 (17:09):
Sometimes you don't need to And he's a product of
the guys around him. Me Joe Burrow, Lamar Josh and
Patrick in his all in the same conference being as well,
who we got.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
Next, Marty in Kentucky. You're in the odd couple of
Fox Sportudio.

Speaker 6 (17:21):
What's up Marty? Yo?

Speaker 13 (17:23):
What's up? Fellas? I really think Michael Parsons has Jerry
Jones items. Everybody cares about what he's it's spreading on.

Speaker 14 (17:35):
The Cowboys team, I guess, because you know, I haven't
seen them do a great job of stopping Gamen Hurts.
I really am a big fan of Jaylon Hurts ever
since college when he got when he got knocked out
at halftime of that National championship game, and he never quit.
He transferred her to the NFL. He's had Dowders and

(17:57):
Dowters and Dowders. He never kid The last time.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
He was in the Super.

Speaker 14 (18:01):
Bowl, he played better than anybody.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
He did, no doubt about it out, no doubt about it,
no doubt.

Speaker 7 (18:08):
All right, appreciate the call's money. And the craziest part
about it all is too. I mean when you look
at almost like a brock Purty in that all I've
ever done was get to the championship games and get
to Super Bowls, And it's like what more do you
want from me? I've been doing that now. Obviously he
hasn't won it yet. He has a chance to do
that in a couple of days here. But what he's

(18:29):
done you mentioned the winning percentage.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Only second in La MAA since nineteen seventy, right.

Speaker 7 (18:34):
And so I think part of it is again a
byproduct of the guys around him, his peers, guys around
the same age group. You know, they're all have been spectacular,
especially obviously Patrick Mahomes been.

Speaker 6 (18:44):
On that level.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
But Lamar about to be possibly three MVPs. You know,
Joe Burrow's been to the super Bowl and had a
crazy year this year, as did Josh Allen could possibly
maybe sort of be the MVP as well. So I
think he's also getting some of that not I wanna
say hate, but the detractors because of those guys as well.

Speaker 6 (19:02):
I think that plays a role in it.

Speaker 7 (19:03):
Yeah, you know what I mean, like his peers around him,
But Chris Paul was here and they want Steph start winning,
and KD got something and then Lebron it was like
Chris Paul goes down.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
But that I get that, but it still doesn't mean
like he's the weak link. And I think because he's
a dual threat quarterback and you had those issues. And
then I think he answered some last in the NFC
Championship game.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
He looked good throwing the football.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
It wasn't just handing it off to Saquan and getting
out the way. And that's all I'm saying is that
there's a chance that we might see some more of
that in the super Bowl.

Speaker 7 (19:36):
All right, looking for hopefully more than anything, we all
want a good game. Somebody who knows about being an
ego that is all Pro Hall of Famer safety for
the Eagles back in his day, Brian Dawkin is gonna
join us here on the other side of trending right
now in his boxing Well on your box.

Speaker 10 (19:52):
Hi, guys, how's New Orleans.

Speaker 6 (19:54):
It's been It's been fantastic. Sincerely, We've had a great
time watch.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
I have not stop eating since on landing.

Speaker 6 (20:01):
The usually people say that jokingly.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
He literally, he's not lying.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
I'm glad.

Speaker 6 (20:05):
Did you guys have bign You're gonna.

Speaker 10 (20:06):
Have nanes for me.

Speaker 7 (20:07):
I've been holding out and in fact I was in
the Vigner the Cafe Dumont, which is where they're not
yes exactly and I literally got a coffee.

Speaker 6 (20:14):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
You know what ham for breakfast?

Speaker 6 (20:16):
Did have him?

Speaker 10 (20:17):
Okay, okay, there, that's that's what I wanted.

Speaker 7 (20:20):
Yet No, not yet, Hey, come on, Ben Soccer had
crab Vigne's last night at Emeralds.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
He don't know me, Eliji Crab.

Speaker 6 (20:31):
When they robed all my food?

Speaker 2 (20:33):
What?

Speaker 6 (20:34):
Rob is the best? Who? Who?

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Who orders?

Speaker 7 (20:38):
Robb Gi orders some bread for himself, a basket and
a basket of bread, and Rob Parker goes, hey, can
you hurry up with his bread please so he can
eat it?

Speaker 6 (20:48):
Rob g has been he's been abused.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
By law Parker so long.

Speaker 8 (20:51):
And and then this breakfast, the breakfast is that a pancake?

Speaker 2 (20:56):
And it just robbed He already know like here.

Speaker 7 (20:59):
Yancakes and cuts it like he's a daughter knows what's up.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
I was good, right because my question was is that
a pancake?

Speaker 6 (21:07):
To spouses?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
It seems like.

Speaker 10 (21:11):
Rob Parker is just taking full advantage of the situation.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Yes, you go, oh, you're good, you're good.

Speaker 10 (21:17):
Yes, we're getting closer to Super Bowl Sunday. Everyone is
sick that I know, including Jalen Carter, who missed yesterday's practice,
but he was a full participant today. In fact, Lane
Johnson told the Philadelphia Inquire that there's four or five
players who are dealing with illnesses. They don't think it's
going to affect Sunday's game, but everybody is a little
sick right now. The Mavericks have ruled out Anthony Davis

(21:38):
for Tonight's game against the Celtics. They're hopeful he can't
play Saturday at home against Houston. Some of the moves
that happened today ahead of the trade deadline, the Hawks
trade for DeAndre Hunter to the Calves. The Sun's traded
use of Nurkic and a twenty twenty six first round
pick to the Hornets.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Dennis Shrewder on the move again.

Speaker 10 (21:56):
He went from Golden State to Utah yesterday as part
of the Jimmy Butler deal. He's been rerouted to the
Detroit Pistons. They plan to keep him on the roster.
According to ESPN, the Brooklyn Nets are working on a
buyout agreement with Ben Simmons, and the Clippers and the
Cavs are possible landing spots. And in baseball, Iban Misuhara
show Be Shoheo Tani's former interpreter was sentenced to fifty

(22:18):
seven months in prison and order to pay seventeen million
in restitution to Otawni and one point one million to
the irs.

Speaker 2 (22:26):

Of the hardest hitting safeties in the game.

Speaker 7 (23:11):
Somebody that I can't wait to ask a question about
what he was known for doing on the field.

Speaker 6 (23:14):
I asked him that in a minute.

Speaker 7 (23:15):
Brian Dawkins is here joining us now on behalf of
Boyringer and Lily's and it takes two health initiative. Pro
Football Hall of Famer in Philadelphia Eagles again. Legend Brian
Dawkins is here with us.

Speaker 6 (23:26):
Be dark. How you doing something? Absolutely blessed brother. Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
We always love when you stop buying to the odd couple.
We always every year get the chance to chat it
up with you. And now it's great because your former
team is in the Super Bowl again, and you know it.

Speaker 7 (23:42):
I'm seeing Greeny's got I'll see green and white all.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
But yeah, nice is there. I like this team.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
I think this is a better team than it was
two years ago.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
Obviously, sa Kwan Barkley, the offensive line, the defensive line,
this is a complete team.

Speaker 6 (24:01):
Yes, And here's the thing I'll tell you.

Speaker 8 (24:03):
Like in the beginning of the year, one of the
things I was telling fans and whomever would do an
interview with me, right, there's going to be growing pains.
You have a new offensive courtinator, new defensive court that
you have new personnel. Everybody has to learn who every
ride is and how to best utilize those individuals. The
greatest thing that happened to me, happened for them, in
my opinion, is to struggle early.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
They struggled early and then during the.

Speaker 8 (24:24):
Bye week, it is my opinion that they had tough
conversation behind the closed doors, and through those tough conversations,
they have begin to play better football to the point
in the playoffs they're absolutely playing their best football.

Speaker 6 (24:38):
Right. So that's the way you want to trend during
a season.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
You don't necessarily want to play your best football the
first game, with the fifth game, the sixth game. All
you want to play your best games in the playoffs.

Speaker 6 (24:49):
And it seems like the Eagles are doing that.

Speaker 7 (24:51):
Walk me through if you were on this team and
kind of what it would be like from an offensive
end where we had last week the last game jayla
Hurst loo good. He said, they finally let me out
the straight jacket. He's been wanting to pass more. They
were able to do that. But you got say Kwan,
who's been incredible on an MVP candidate type run. So
how is that when you're in the locker room like
trying to find that balance of hey, I want to

(25:13):
do more, but they're like, man, we got a workhorse
who's been doing.

Speaker 6 (25:15):
This thing on this work and it's working. And that's
the thing about it.

Speaker 8 (25:18):
So when you have the talent on the field that
they have receiving corps and the running game. But when
you have an offensive line that can make that running
game special the way that they debt that they have,
you have to lean into that and that it has
to be something that's reciprocal of understanding to everybody in
the locker room. To be honest with you receive receivers

(25:40):
in the quarterback position. I don't know Jayden enough to
say that. I hear a comment on the TV and
all of a sudden, Oh, he's talking about I don't
know him like that, Like he could be a sarcastic thing,
could have been a funny thing.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
I won't.

Speaker 6 (25:53):
I won't take that out of out of context.

Speaker 8 (25:55):
But what I what I will say is that to me,
there have been some comment I said before, they have
been some conversations between Jalen and the coaching staff but
also his teammates about how they are going to play better,
going together together, excuse me, going forward, and they after
that game is when he made that comment.

Speaker 6 (26:16):
Before that game, the whole week we're.

Speaker 8 (26:18):
Talking about, people were talking about there was something going
on in the lava room, right.

Speaker 6 (26:22):
So to me, they got behind closed doors.

Speaker 8 (26:25):
And had some conversations, some tough conversations, and decided these
are the matter of fact, these are the dances we're
gonna do once we go ball out.

Speaker 6 (26:32):
And they went and balled out.

Speaker 8 (26:33):
So I don't I don't put too much, you know,
too much into the comments.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
The two things I want to ask you.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
First, I was a first guest when the Giants decided
to pay Daniel Jones and not say quarme Parker. That
was the first guest for most people, like what are
you doing? But when the when the Eagles picked them up,
did you know right away, like, oh my god, they
just got another ingredient that can help them get where
they wanted to go.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
And what a season he's had.

Speaker 8 (27:00):
Yes, not to the extent they have done it. So
I didn't see him break records, right, I didn't I saw.
I mean, I was blessed to be an executive during
the time that he came out for the Eagles at
the time, and so one of the one of the
individuals that I looked wasim I scouted him and looked
at him coming out of it. His potential was off,

(27:20):
like off the chart of him being a franchise running back.
So now that you allow a franchise running back to
come right down.

Speaker 6 (27:28):
The road to a team with the best offensive line
a game.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
That's what I'm saying, bro.

Speaker 8 (27:34):
So, so what has happened has happened because say Quon
feels he feels wanted, appreciated, and he's free to just
be himself. And this is what happens when he's feels wanted,
appreciated and free to be himself. So thank you Giants again.

(27:54):
I said it probably about ten times, and we said
it about thirty times exactly.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
We're with you on thank you.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
Yep.

Speaker 7 (27:59):
Hall of Famer Philadelphia ego legend Brian Dawkins a guest
with the Odd Couple Robin Kelvin here in New Orleans.

Speaker 6 (28:05):
So let's go to the other team you play. I
just mentioned Hall of famer.

Speaker 7 (28:09):
You had to stop guys like Patrick mahonmes stop offenses
that Andy Reid would, would you know, come up with
what's the game plan coming in? And it's knowing how
good they are in closing up locks and clothes lucky
he says. Everybody else says they're good and great at
closing out games.

Speaker 6 (28:25):
What's the game plan?

Speaker 7 (28:26):
How do you plan on stopping Patrick Mahomes and the
trickery of Andy Reid.

Speaker 8 (28:30):
Well, the first aspect of any defense is going to
be physicality. You got to be physical with these dudes.
You gotta be physical. Any opportunity you got, you get
a chance to lay some stank on some folk, you
lay some stank on some folk.

Speaker 6 (28:40):
Right, So that's that's that's number one in my opinion.

Speaker 8 (28:43):
But here's the other thing. You have to be someone
that moves around. You have to show them different things.
You can't just do the same thing and allow him
to see walk through formations. When I say walk through
formations and walk through, this is the formation that you
see and walk through. So these are the things that
we're gonna do against this and walk through. You have
to be a team that's versatile enough to be able

(29:04):
to do some things that maybe catches them off guard
from time to time and potentially cause them to make
a mistake.

Speaker 6 (29:11):
Right. But then also you have to know who their
dudes are.

Speaker 8 (29:15):
In certain situations red zone third down Kelsey is to
do don't let him catch, you know, catch football's right,
and so there's obviously different ways of going about doing that,
but ultimately knowing how to take away his you know,
his ultimate weapon, which is Kelsey. For the most part,
tackling will be a key issue when it comes to
this team, not allowing them to have their yards, have

(29:37):
to catch and like I said, you've got to be
physical with these dudes.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Let me ask you this to real quick. Do you
need a spy on Patrick Mahomes. He's known in the
postseason to break off a big run, you know where
people are expecting the pass or something. How do you
defend him to stop him from you know, getting that
big fifteen yard twenty yard run that changes you know.

Speaker 8 (29:58):
A possession. So I would say that that's a strategic play.
You don't have to do it all the time. But
that's another Again, you got to throw different things at
these cats that have been in the playoffs, this time,
this many times. Throw different things. Maybe if you're versatile
enough and you have the talent enough that VIC can

(30:19):
rush specific guys and then drop a guy who can
then be the sky right the spy.

Speaker 6 (30:25):
So like you, you're still messing with.

Speaker 8 (30:27):
The offensive lineman's count this just in case, yeah, just
in case he breaks out. Laying responsibilities especially again especially
as first at key downs in the red zone. You know,
you mix those things in. So obviously, yes, there's obviously
ways to utilize that. I wouldn't do it every down
out all the time, but in specific key instances. But

(30:48):
again I'm not just talking about one dude just having
align middle line. I could be the guy no, sometimes
rush him and then drop Carter right not not Carter three.
I can't think of his name right now. Other Georgia
cat drop them though, that drop the brain fall. Yeah,
So again mix it up of who's who that cat

(31:08):
can be so that that that my homes and the
coaches style won't know who that person will be.

Speaker 7 (31:14):
All we got to ask you tell us a little
bit more. Be talk about Takes two campaign that you're
a part of. Uh and then you had the involvement
last month with the Rose Parade out of course where
we are out there and CALLI tells more.

Speaker 6 (31:23):
Yeah, man, it is a blessing. It's a blessing.

Speaker 8 (31:25):
One of the things in retirement that that that I've
wanted to do is bless people in their total body right,
so mentally, spiritually and physically. And so this is one
of those mental but also physical things to understand that
there's information that you need to help you live longer, healthier, right,
And so this hits home for me because my mom
and my dad both have type two diabetes and they

(31:48):
both battle high blood pressure, so that puts them at
risk of developing kidney disease. So it takes to campaign
is one that it takes you and your doctor, two people.
It takes two tests, a blood and a urine test,
and that would help the doctors recognize if you are
going down the path of developing developing kidney disease. And

(32:10):
so again, if I can use my platform, the people
want to hear me talk about football. But and then
I give you a little information to help you understand
you that you know going to test your kidneys dot
com for not just you, for not parents. It could
be your uncle, could be a friend, somebody, it doesn't
matter who it is. This information would could potentially help
them to live a healthier life, longer.

Speaker 6 (32:32):
All right here, So thank you. We got to get
you out of here on this very quickly.

Speaker 7 (32:36):
For us, we'll be remiss if we didn't ask you
just talked about it mental mind, body, spirit. When you
would lay somebody out, you would then say what to
them when you would lay somebody out in the football field,
you would pray for him.

Speaker 6 (32:46):
Hallelujah. Don't lock me out of there, pray for me,
especially if you so.

Speaker 8 (32:54):
I'm gonna be real with you my intent, if you're
to receive this, I want to make you feel pain.

Speaker 6 (33:00):
Okay, I understand, I don't want to hurt. I'm gonna
turn another cheek, but not again.

Speaker 8 (33:05):
Within the rules of right all right there, you can
move a grown man from one spot to the next
spot against his reel, against his will.

Speaker 6 (33:13):
That's what that's in the rules. Yeah, so within the rules.

Speaker 8 (33:17):
I'm a physically as hard as I can move you
from one point to the becks and then bless them
be dark a favorite man.

Speaker 6 (33:25):
Appreciate you, love what you're doing as well. Stick with us.

Speaker 7 (33:27):

Thanks to them. It is time now for Shekel City.

Speaker 3 (34:45):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole face for Rob Parker's
daily Dix against the Spread.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
That's right, and I say all because I'm a chance.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
Oh oh over five hundred last night two and one, right,
thirty five and thirty seven, so three and oh and
I'm over five. Yes, let's do it, all right, Kings
minus one and a half taking on the trail Blazers
in Portland.

Speaker 6 (35:21):
I don't know who they think they are. They won
like nine in their last ten. Oh they were really
really bad.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
Yes, Warriors, all right, the Lakers. I'm taking the Lakers
minus six and a half. Yes, thank you, Lebron.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
And the Pacers are at the Clippers.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
I'm gonna take the Clippers minus four and a half
coming off that bad loss to the Lakers. So again,
the best bet Kings minus one and a half, Lakers
minus six and a half, and the Clippers minus four
and a half.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
And remember Kelvin Washington's hall. Oh, I'm not telling you.

Speaker 4 (35:58):
I'm telling you who I've I've a coughed one time,
haven't you haven't in New Orleans?

Speaker 6 (36:03):
You eaten, but you haven't coughed. All right.

Speaker 7 (36:08):
So the Bengals have been one of those teams, especially
with Joe Burrow having such an incredible season. We heard
throughout the they didn't make the playoffs. We were having conversations.
Some people wanted him uh to be m v P.
I was earlier at the MA all today, some young
guys they you know, we were talking, oh man, you
do radio sports ran we start talking about the league
and there Joe Burrow should have been MVP, I said,

(36:28):
I said, he had a great season and he should
have been tell his team to win some more games,
and he could have He could have easily been in
the mix. But the other thing is, obviously the conversations
about what do they do with their receivers.

Speaker 6 (36:38):
Jamar Chase, who is incredible. Uh you saw what he
did this year.

Speaker 7 (36:41):
T Higgins who's also really a number one on any
just about any other team in the league. So, uh,
you had Joe Burrow talking about it, and he said
he believes that they're gonna find a way to get this,
to get the guys paid, keep the team together, and
run it back again. Obviously they're praying the defense is
nowhere near bad because he.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
Does he realize he plays for the Cincinnati Bank.

Speaker 6 (37:03):
He does realize.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
Do you know that it's owned by Mike Brown. It's
not owned by corporation. It's a mom and pop organization.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
Right.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
You don't forget that they just moved into a practice
facility after all these years they practice outside.

Speaker 6 (37:20):
Yep, yep, you ain't lying when you or you ain't
wrong when you're right.

Speaker 7 (37:22):
So obviously, if you're Joe Burrow, what makes you great
is obviously you're talented.

Speaker 6 (37:29):
We saw what you did in college, but you had
a bunch of weapons.

Speaker 7 (37:32):
Then then you come to the league, it's super Bowl,
you have an amazing season like this season, it's because again,
not just your talented, you have weapons.

Speaker 6 (37:38):
So you see why he is trying.

Speaker 7 (37:40):
Hey, hey, hey, hey, listen, if y'all want to have
any success, it's going to be that we need these
guys so I can keep doing what I do, and
we need this receiving corps.

Speaker 6 (37:47):
But that's a lot of money, you know, And that's
a lot of money.

Speaker 7 (37:50):
And also, you know, we've learned about receivers rob over
the last forty years. They like to be the one.
And does t Higgins want to always be behind Jamar Chase?
Does always want to be second fiddle if you will
the only the only way.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
He'll be second fiddls if you pay him like first fiddle.
And that's the issue they're in. Li No, there's two guys.
I totally agree with you. People want their money, they
want their dude, they want their respect. And if I
could go somewhere else where they really want me and
they're paying me like I believe I'm being compensated for
my talents, then people will move on.

Speaker 7 (38:25):
And that's what really comes down to, because if you're
te Higgins, if you're his agent, you're like, man, do
we want to go somewhere else where?

Speaker 6 (38:31):
They need in us?

Speaker 7 (38:32):
They need you, you know, they need that number one
guy where you can be the man, you can shine.
And we've seen receivers go to teams that weren't necessarily
even great just because they the other team desired that
they wanted them.

Speaker 6 (38:42):
Hey, we got some money.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
We need you.

Speaker 6 (38:45):
Our quarterback needs a guy like you.

Speaker 7 (38:47):
So you wonder if it's not just if the Bengals
will muster up the money and put up the money.

Speaker 6 (38:52):
Is this ta Higgins?

Speaker 4 (38:53):
Even once you remember, even before Joe Burrow signed, Mike
Brown was talking about hometown discount. He was already trying
to put that out there in the water because he
knows and he knows that he can't pay all of them.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
They got rid of Joe Mixon, right, They moved on
from him.

Speaker 6 (39:08):
Who had a great season, heard the injuries.

Speaker 4 (39:11):
Right, You can't you can't pay everybody not when you're
in that situation. We saw the Giants make a decision.
They made up a business decision. It was the wrong decision, right.
They looked at two guys. They could have they could
have said, hey, we're gonna franchise tag Daniel Jones and
signed Saquon. They did it the other way around. Saquon's
at the Super Bowl. The Giants didn't make the playoffs,

(39:33):
d Jones the team, and he's in Minnesota.

Speaker 6 (39:35):
He's in Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
Uh so.

Speaker 7 (39:37):
But I also think Joe Burrow, who's been outspoken about
this even before super Bowl Week, now he's sitting here,
you know, without lets talking about it as well. So
I think there's I think there's I think he's very
conscious and very aware of what he's doing, uh, you know,
putting it out there as the guy the face of
the franchise making his demands hurt you know, a very

(39:57):
public settings.

Speaker 6 (39:58):
This ain't private, This ain't no leak source.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
This is him.

Speaker 6 (40:00):
Super Bowl week radio, Row say, hey, I want to
make sure.

Speaker 7 (40:04):
We get these guys back, bring my weapons, these toys back,
so we can try to run it back, hopefully with
a better defensive scheme.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Well, you gotta get it better because you, as you saw,
he put up astronomical numbers and they still didn't amount
until enough wins.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
We talked about it. The two games against Baltimore.

Speaker 4 (40:21):
Had nine touchdowns and games any other lost, both games
with nine total touchdowns.

Speaker 7 (40:26):
Yeah, so you obviously see why he's been very vocal
about that all right. On the way NBA trade deadline
was trading, we thought we were gonna have a slow
one for a minute.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
There not the case.

Speaker 7 (40:36):
A lot happened in the last twenty four to four
to eight hours, especially one in Big Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 6 (40:41):
We'll talk about it. It's the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
