before we get started and talking about Eli Manning and
not getting in the Hall of Fame. I want to
send out a very very special happy sixteenth birthday to
Nyla Smith, who is my goddaughter, who is smart, beautiful, friendly, joyful,

(01:40):
just a beautiful young person's growing up into a beautiful
young woman. And I send out all my love and
hope she has many many more birthdays.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Happy birthday, Tony, Nyla Smith, Happy birthday.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
No know what that is. I do know her dad
is her dad is Steven A. Smith. I think you
call it Steve. Well, I just thogo people. Yeah, yeah,
I'm just for the lay person. Yes, but but but yeah, Nila.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
And always an honor, you know, you know Steve and
I go way back to somebody.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
And you guys know y'all have kids.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
When you piss around to god parent, that's somebody who's
special to you.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
And we are godparents, my wife and I. We know
what it has my parents for our children. It's an
honor to be considered that. Really, it was the type
of bond you have with that parent and then obviously you.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Have with the kids.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
So happy birthday to her happy, happy birthday, birthday.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Night's awesome.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
All right, let's go here. Eli Manning did not get in.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Royall finally got Yo, finally each hour I told you
Josh Allen was going there.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Finally I was killing it. If I would have got
these two and you would I tell.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
You, Ergy, I was gonna do a dance up here.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
I told you, Elie, and I ain't even sure he
gonna get in here.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Already predicted instead of just taking your if and just leave.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
It, hop every one of these crazes.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Look what they call the little things that pick up
stuff with I'm about to hop in that and run
around his place like Marshaun Lynchley in the little golf cart.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
If you got if you get that right, uh you
and Marcellus Waally will be doing a show.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
On five seventy next, let me tell you. All right.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
But anyway, Eli did not get in the first ballot,
and uh, Eli was asking Rob Woodson was asked about it,
and here's Eli Manning.

Speaker 6 (03:28):
I'm excited for those guys that God Dad, all of
them are so deserving and this is just a great
you know, happy happy for them, and texted a few
of them. The guys that I knew and just ingratulated them,
so I had a feeling wasn't gonna be my night.
And I understand that, and that's I'm totally at peace,
and uh, you know, it's not going to change my
outlook of my career and how I feel about it.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
You guys are so freaking mean. You're not mean.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
First, do me. Let me tell you something. He's from
the royal family of the NFL. He's got a bunch
of money. He is incredible. But who doesn't like Eli
the person? Like he paid her great?

Speaker 4 (04:03):
This is where I disagree with the voters, and again
I'm not a pro Football Hall of Fame voter. Their
whole process to me, is antiquated and ridiculous in that
people who have to get up and make a pitch
for people I don't even understand why, you know, you'd
have to to nominate and then go up and then
tell the reasons why somebody should get in, And to me,

(04:26):
it should be the stats, the information, and then.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
People just like vote, like we.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Vote in the Baseball Hall of Fame, and you have
ten spots on the ballot, we don't limit how many
people get in. If there's ten one year ten get
If there's none the next year, nobody gets in.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Like this whole thing.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Only five can go in football at twenty two positions,
but only five players can get into the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
That makes no sense to me.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Okay, baseball, there are nine positions and ten people could
not that ten people ever get in at the same time.
But here's my thing that I don't understand, as if
if you don't vote for him the first time, but
in year two or three or four you vote for
him and then like you're punishing him. He's still gonna

(05:13):
be a Hall of Famer, he's still gonna wear the
yellow jacket. You're still going to announce him at a
banquet or golf outing as Hall of Famer Eli Manning,
right Like, So, if you're going to put him in,
this is not a punishment. If you're not gonna put
him in, then that's different. But for people to say, well,
he'll get in down the road, that doesn't make sense

(05:35):
to me. Either you are or you aren't. And I
told you that's why I don't vote for people after
the first time. If I did vote the first time,
your stats aren't getting better, you're not still playing.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
What has changed for me.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
The only thing that changes is narratives, not numbers, and
that's where people get in trouble.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Well, here's the interesting thing, going back to the NFL
because versus the MLVIVO.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
So you look at this.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
He can still be selected as part of the future classes.
We know that, but you have a maximum of five
modern players that can actually be chosen.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
So you look at the He didn't get in this year.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
I didn't think he would because I didn't think he
was a first ballot meaning automatic. Doug clearly you're in.
Well you go to next year. I'm looking at this
list for twenty twenty six. Drew Brees, we'd all agree
is first ballot, Larry Fitzgerald first ballot going in. Then
Jason Whitten would imagine gets a little ify there.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
But wide receivers have had I don't you know, Chris
Carter took forever to get in.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I'm just saying I believe that. Yeah, Terror Trellones, which
is clearly first.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
Years with his numbers, that didn't make any sense. He
should have gone in. You see what I'm saying, So
he too could wind up ELI could be like too.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
And but the reason I'm bringing this up is because
I believe there are some people who clearly voted for him,
and you'll say, well he's how is he gonna get
in NEXTRA because they'll say, oh, well, he's up against
these guys the next year, and maybe they like him
over Philip Rivers, they like him over Frank Gore, just
to name some of the guys that we already know
who could be in that class.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
So they could just.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Be Nah, I don't like him up against these guys.
It's not that I don't think he should ever, it's
just this group of guys. You know, he's not better
than any of them or warrants it more than any
of them. And then we pop up next year, maybe
they say he's over Drew Brees or that he's over
Philip Rivers. So he has a shot each year based
off who's on that list, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Yeah, but they could tell well, we'll make somebody else
wait another year, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
That's gonna be Philip Rivers.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
He ain't getting in, like Philip Rivers hasn't won anything.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
But his numbers are gonna be good. But people are
gonna be like, no, he didn't win anything. So Philip
rivers might get that he's gonna have to keep waiting
down a lot. Ultimately, I don't think he's gonna get in,
but yeah, I just knew. I knew Eli Manning. I
still believe he's gonna get in because again he has
two m vps in finals MVPs which to his credit,
and I still believe who he beat mad At He

(08:02):
beat Brady not once but twice, and he's a Manning.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I think that matters. But I knew he wasn't first
ballot just because But the first ballot part is what?
But I know? But what is it?

Speaker 1 (08:13):
What is because in their minds, because in their Mindsdrop
Series is in the Hall of Fame?

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Is it punishment? I don't. I don't know's it's an honor.
It's an honor to an honor.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
So Sterling show up shouldn't be excited that he got
in with the Veterans Committee and he had been on
the ballot, so he has.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
A lesser hall of fame. Is No, it's not that,
it's not. I'm gonna tell you.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
We all graduate, right, somebody soon come Lottie or somebody
has whatever little stripe with different things.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
So we all graduate.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Were all about to twist our cat, turn the little thing.
We're gonna throw our hats in the air. We're gonna
go to our banquets and receptions. We all graduated, but
there's certain people had different bars and strikes.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
We can all have on No, but but nobody.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
I'm saying who uses the first ballot as if there's
something different, because we do.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
We do say that, like when we're just casually talking
to our friends, and if I were like if we
would say, man, Steph Curry, man ain't first ballot hall
of Famer, Like it's our way of saying.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
So you say, Chris Carter ten year ballot Hall of Famer.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Don't you say no, I'm saying you would, but it
was ten years for him, so that you don't.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Put the years, not only when it's the first, because
it's a it's a way of establishing.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
I think either in either the Hall of Fame or
you're not. There's if he doesn't make it, then that's fine.
But to me, there's no difference. I think that that's
a semantics. He still gets the yellow jail, nobody. He
still gets the when he goes to a card signing
his money, his money's gonna be higher than somebody who

(09:42):
doesn't have a yellow.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Jo first ballot also dignifies there is no question, and
I think that's what it what it also symbols with Eli.
You you believe he should I don't. Rob do you
believe should be ever? Not woolly getting? But should he?

Speaker 2 (09:58):
No?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
I don't think he should see not, nor do I.
We've had some people who say, yes, okay, you had
two finals. My point is that's why there's a distinguished
that doesn't make any silence.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
That so Joe Namers should come out.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
I'm asking not come out, but I'm saying, but I'm
asking you, Joe name of.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Chicago, think you should have been a Hall of Fame. Okay,
but he's another I say about it? Right?

Speaker 7 (10:13):
Well, well to your guys point, all right, So the
Eli Manning thing has been a hot button conversation for
y'all for months since the show started. All this is
isle real they played at the Super Bowl? Was you
guys arguing about Eli Manning?

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Right? All right?

Speaker 7 (10:26):
So, according to Ari Meyrov from the thirty to thirty team,
they do great job, great work over there. The balloting
for football is not the same as base. They don't show, Hey,
this guy received ten percent this year, twelve percent fifteen.
This is kept under wraps until we find out who
gets in and who didn't. So he's reporting that Eli

(10:48):
Manning quote wasn't remotely close to getting in this year,
and that the two guys who didn't get in that
were the closest at the most support were Luke Keigley,
who we talked about on the way to lunch today,
and Adam Vinitario, who we both think got.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Don't even get a first ballot.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
I think they don't do kickers justice, but the.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Patriots, I'm sorry, he was the best kicker in big moment.
If he misses two kicks, Tom Brady isn't Tom Brady Like?

Speaker 2 (11:15):
That's how big?

Speaker 8 (11:16):
Wait?

Speaker 2 (11:17):
So he went to sup vote the Colts right.

Speaker 7 (11:19):
So if we play this game, and I know it's
a weird hypothetical, but if we play this game, we say, hey,
next season, Drew Brees Larry Fitzgerald automatic, you would think
after another year of debate, because I think you guys
are if you don't get in first in a second
ballot Keithley and Vanitaria in that leads one more spot.
Maybe Eli gets in there and then if you look
ahead to twenty twenty seven, Adrian Peterson is eligible, Richard

(11:42):
Sherman's eligible. Rob Gronkowski is aligibatic. Here's Antonio Brown is alible.
To say what you want about him and his leg,
but you don't know if they did what they know.
Ben Roethlisberger is eligible. Where you know, like there's guys
and so and so Brown might not get in at all.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
And I'm that serious. You walked out on the game,
and I was a game during the game, and it
we'll hold NFL. So I bring all this up just
to talent.

Speaker 7 (12:15):
So but I bring this up just the same And
you say, if you're a Hall of Famer, it doesn't
really matter when you get in. Does the idea that
potentially Eli Madning not only just get it first first ballot,
but it's third, fourth, fifth, sixth, does he eventually become
a guy who's gonna get in on the sympathy vote
that you see in baseball, Well, we just.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Saw a sympathy m VP for Josh, so it can happen.
But my point is that's why I'm against the Rob
g just for that reason. We saw it with Billy Wagner.
This was his tenth year. This is last year on
the ballot. Oh we just missed it last year. Oh
it was only ten point five is first year, and
then slowly but surely and if you begin started to

(12:56):
get sympathy.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
My thing is, vote for everybody the first year.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Either they order out and once you're out, Robbed g
and Kelvin, you're out. That's it, like like, leave it open,
leave it open for everybody. Vote for him. If he's
the Hall of Fame, you vote for him. If he's not,
you don't for him. No second year, third year, fourth year.
To me, that diminishes when guys get it. And that's

(13:20):
been my whole point. Lawrence Taylor, you say, yeah, I just.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Feel like it should've always said that it should be so,
you should be so to pray a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
It should just be not a clue.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
If I say Larry Bird, you say, magine, John, Yes, yes, yes, yes,
you know, Joe Monteddy, Yes, that's how I feel like.

Speaker 7 (13:37):
It's all right, real quick question before we get to
other callers here, Rob for you personally, yes, since Eli
did not get in first battle, which you wanted, you
wanted him to get in. If he doesn't get in, in
twenty twenty six, doesn't get into twenty twenty seven the
next eligible year. There's hardly anyone who's really strong in

(13:58):
that class. But Tom Brady is eligible in twenty two.
Would you rather him get in in twenty twenty eight
so that he's on the thing with Tom Brady as
the only guy who beat Tom Brady twice rather than
any other year.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
That would be interesting.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
And and I'm sure and football is different because in
baseball we've seen that where somebody of that I could
go and wind up going in by themselves over you
know what I mean, Like if they make.

Speaker 7 (14:21):
A point to say, hey, only Tom's getting in this year.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
You know what I mean? Was that was?

Speaker 4 (14:26):
Was that Mariano Rivera? Did he only get in by hisself?
I'm trying to think, because you know him and Jeter
weren't the same. I can't remember, but you know what
I mean, Like it was really special. But anyway, yeah,
that would be something if those two were together.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
It really would be eight seven seven Tom will be
nervous though.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
I lose eight even seven ninety nine off Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Do
you have a problem with Eli Manning not being a
first ballot Hall of Famer.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
It is The Couple Rob Parker Washington right here on

Speaker 2 (15:58):
He is not gonna be first ballot. And that was
the case.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
And by the way, you can always reach out to
us on social media as well.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Somebody hit you up and this one is funny.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
They said, whatever this is David Mayer that shot up
to Dave and he said, whatever the opposite is of
baby oil and cools? That was robbed last night? Yes,
you were wrong. No Eli getting in the hall. Josh
Allen won the MVP was a rough night for you.
You were telling all the bartenders they didn't have They
just want to know your drink. They did not want
to know about your take on.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
You know what, I had a nicotine pat off.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
No cools for you? All right?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
So Eli Manning not making the Hall of Fame right
now now first ballot? Is that matter to you? Do
you thought he was robbed? Do you think he'll get in?
Eight seven, seven ninety nine? On Fox?

Speaker 5 (16:39):
We got all right, let's start with your guy, Barry
Long from Lost.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
What's up man, You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
What's happening, Barry Hey?

Speaker 9 (16:47):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Guys?

Speaker 10 (16:48):
I love y'all?

Speaker 11 (16:49):
Man, Bob Parker, k Dove Man, like bro y'all got it.

Speaker 9 (16:53):
Y'all gotta make sure that y'all'll eat too much. Gombo jumba,
y'all get caught late.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Man, you just want to call Monday with that. Our
stomachs are bloated.

Speaker 9 (17:03):
But listen, but listen seriously, though, Eli Manning, like I
get it, okay. He's not a first ballot Hall of
Famer to a lot of people, but he has been
in the league for fifteen seasons. He's got two MVPs.

Speaker 10 (17:15):
In the Super Bowl, He's beat the goat.

Speaker 9 (17:17):
Everybody at universally recognized Tom Brady's a goat. He beat
him twice. He SUTs down the interception ratio like Joe
name it. I mean, this dude is one point five
to his interception ratio the team that ain't great. He's
a likable guy, though, But he's a likable guy. Like
that's the thing. Like these these wide receivers, a lot
of times they're not getting in first ballot, second ballot,

(17:39):
might not even get it at all because they're not likable. God,
Eli Manning is a likable guy.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
You know what you sound like right now?

Speaker 1 (17:47):
You know you my man and grand but you sound
like somebody be like, hey, man, I got a girl.
I'm on a double date. My girl's bringing in friend.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
What she looked like? Man, she got a good personality.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
I mean, I ain't gonna say she's cute, but man,
you know she's really good around the house.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
Can that's how you sound right now? Bert?

Speaker 5 (18:01):
Hey, Barry, thanks man. We appreciate you.

Speaker 10 (18:03):
Trying man make one more point? One more points?

Speaker 2 (18:07):
All right?

Speaker 9 (18:08):
I think Josh Allen walked up in the NFL MVP
Awards ceremony with a site in a handgun.

Speaker 10 (18:15):
Did he trade up rob that VP?

Speaker 2 (18:17):
No doubt. I'm with you on that. All right, We
appreciate you.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
How about Jonathan Jonathan in Texas?

Speaker 2 (18:23):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Jonathan?

Speaker 11 (18:27):
Okay, guys, man done good? Yeah. You know. The one
thing that's always bothered me about Hall of Fames in
general across sports is eventually, over time you have eras
across them, and the guys just the stats don't start
matching up anymore, and it becomes the Hall of very
good or just good. Like if you take a guy
like John Riggins, for example, only eleven thousand yards, only

(18:50):
one hundred touchdowns in a time where rushing was way
more important. He only had three or four seasons with
ten touchdowns and guys are doing that on the daily now,
and you run, you run into this issue of like,
if we let Eli Manning in, there's other guys that
have done ten times better within the last ten years
and they're not going to get in.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
Yeah, there were also guys like Joe Namith who doesn't
who didn't play as well he's in.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
That is what I'm saying.

Speaker 11 (19:16):
So that about that argument, I don't I don't know
that that should work. I think there needs to be
a new Hall of Fame across all sports. It's the
too sports Hall of Fame and only guys in goat
consideration status get in.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
And I think I hear you and and and and
I agree that it shouldn't be this lenient. That we're
way too lenient to everybody to get in, and Jonathan
that that's not a great hall of fame.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
And that's why the NBA has to come up with
their own, because I mean basketball, they don't even know
Michael Jordan gotta be sitting there, like I know, this
person ain't in the same place.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Next to my days. Excuse me, his plaque is next time,
get another one.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Let's do uh Ken in Stockton, California. You're in the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
What's up? Cast up?

Speaker 11 (20:00):
Can hey?

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Robbie gathering on music on mob site.

Speaker 10 (20:04):
But he's gotta.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
This is.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
SI.

Speaker 10 (20:15):
I have no simpidda any gift. First time the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
I jump.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
He's not He's not.

Speaker 11 (20:22):
Robbie's not.

Speaker 9 (20:24):
Baby.

Speaker 11 (20:24):
That's all I like to say.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
All right, hey, let's squeeze in real quick.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Jacks from Kansas City, you're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Jacks, what's up? Man?

Speaker 10 (20:34):
Hey, Man, thank you for taking my call. I love
to show you. I'll tell you what Man than always
you talk about narratives having to be spawn h Rob.
You always be spinning this narrative about Eli Manning being
better than Pat in the super Bowl, and you always
qualified it only in the super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Well, but that's what I'm talking about because when they came.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
Out, uh, Jacks.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
This was last year before the Super Bowl. Because this
is Jacks I'm trying to give you. I'm trying to
break it down to you. That's Sports Illustrated, not Rob Parker.
Sports Illustrated put out a list of the twenty five
top quarterback performances, not over career performances in the Super Bowl,

(21:23):
and your guy calling from Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
I get it, you're a fan. I get it.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
He wasn't in the top twenty five.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Explain that.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
And that's what I'm talking about when I talk about
Eli Manning. Not that he's better than Patrick Mahomes, but
he has outperformed Patrick Mahomes in big spots in the
super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
That's all the hamsphy Cracks said. Patrick, He's been in
all these super bowl and he's not in the top
twenty five.

Speaker 10 (21:48):
That's all. The Hall of Fame is not just about
how you perform in the super Bowl, first of all.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
And secondly, he's top five in touchdowns top ten, and
George he's also that.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
I mean, I'm giving you other numbers.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
He also has a streak of the longest games in
a row at a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
I mean, he has stuff. You have to like it.
He is a hey, he had a good career. He
ain't a Hall of favor I know that. That makes hey.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
Hold on, let me ask me this, okay, okay, how
many all pros does Tom Brady have?

Speaker 6 (22:23):
No?

Speaker 2 (22:24):
See and that's and that's my point.

Speaker 5 (22:26):
He doesn't even know, but.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
He doesn't.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
And but my point is Jack is talking as if, oh,
all you gotta have an all pro and he doesn't
even know how many.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Because Tom hasn't already, but he does O vps. No,
but are you gonna do some homework?

Speaker 2 (22:43):
iView? Mark? I argue with you later, All.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
Right, Mark, he didn't even know four times look it
up here. No, Eli ain't all pro. You know it
was an all pro. Matter of fact, four time All
Pro fredt Waterer, it's gonna be our guest is just
the second with the forty nine Ers linebacker over there
right now, we're gonna find out where trending with Steve
a saga before I jump over on his table.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
This Steeve, he's making an all pro argument. He doesn't
know how.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Many all pros, Tom cutting an MVP. But the point
is that he's making it like is important.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
But he's Seve save us.

Speaker 12 (23:13):
Okay, let's start with the NBA because Kevin Durant's out
for the Suns tonight with a sprained ankle.

Speaker 6 (23:18):
Shock.

Speaker 12 (23:19):
That is the lay game, Phoenix hosting Utah ten pm
Eastern time. Janni Santenacumbo out for Milwaukee tonight with a
sore calf. The Bucks are at Atlanta and leading the
Hawks seventy to fifty four in the final seconds before halftime.
At Detroit, Cade Cunningham of the Pistons out with a
sprained ankle. Pistons are nonetheless leading in the second quarter
fifty four to thirty seven over Philadelphia the Hornets. The

(23:42):
LaMelo Ball has returned. He's playing in Charlotte tonight, and
the Hornets are up in the third seventy four to
sixty five over the Spurs. Ball had missed the last
five games with a sprained ankle. As for the Cleveland Cavaliers,
They're tied at Washington in the third quarter, seventy four
seventy four. Donovan Mitchell twenty three points, Washing and Wizards
with a record of nine and forty one this season.

(24:03):
The Nets at home are hosting Miami. The Heat lead
late first to half fifty to forty three, and the
Thunder have Chet Holmgren back in the lineup, returning from
a fractured Pelvisy was out three months. Thunder lead twenty
four to nineteen over Toronto. Late in the first quarter.
Anthony Davis will debut with the Mavericks on Saturday. He's
missed five games with an abdominal strain. College hoops on

(24:25):
FS one right now, as USC at seventh rank Perdue.
It's Purdue up sixty three forty nine with about twelve
minutes to go. And there's College Oops. A Top twenty
matchup on Fox TV at Yukon, Connecticut leads Saint John's
mid first half twenty six to sixteen. Among the NHL's
five games, it's the Islanders leading to one at Winnipeg

(24:46):
in the first period. Tiger Woods will play in next
week's PGA event, which benefits his foundation in southern California.
Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham practice fully today. He's listed
as questionable for the Super Bowl after trice surgery in November.
Wide receiver Devonte Smith was limited in practice again with
the bad hamstring, but we'll play. Former Colts defensive coordinator

(25:08):
Gus Bradley joined the forty nine Ers staff.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Back to you all right, Thank you so much, Steve,
Fox Sports Radio, The odd couple, Rob Parker, kelvin Washington,
hanging out here in New Orleans radio row, what a
week it has been and we're coming to you live
from the tyrack dot com studios. By the way, Travis
Matthew is apparel designed for confidence and comfort no matter
where the day takes you, from performance driven styles to

(25:31):

Right now, I got a whole Travis Matthew outfit on
so big shout out to them for looking out with us.
And right now we are being joined by Rob Fred Warner,
four time All Pro for the San Francisco forty nine ers.

(25:51):
I like him and I don't like him that I
like him because I want to have beef with him
because Fred, I'm a Detroit Lions fan.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Oh Fred, it ain't so sorry show. They have you
all on the road.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Y'all got us last year right in the NFC Championship
game that we.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Came back got y'all are you on the team? Listen?
We as in the set. I'm talking about the whole state.
The whole state they claim claim. Right, It's all right,
you know what, Fred?

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Yeah, I like it though, because you know what I like,
you know, we need in all sports rivalries that y'all
talking smack. And it's been great to see that you
feel that same thing with it's energy, y'all going back
and forth and all.

Speaker 8 (26:28):
The I mean, you think that, Okay, you've had the Niners, Cowboys, right,
and you have all the divisional rivalries with the Seattle
in l A. The Cardinals a little bit but not
not as much. But then you then you now you
got the Lions. Yeah, coming up. They've ascended and we
have these battles that were that we're having now. So
I'm sure it's gonna continue next year as well. You
guys got a great team.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
I don't know, I think the windows closed. We gotta
we gotta better than ready.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
He said they don't make the postas I said, they will.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Don't make the post. That's what I guess what I do? Extremes?
Can I give in my history? Just too?

Speaker 4 (27:01):
So so last year the two teams that made the
World Series, the Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers. Before the
season started, you said, I said neither team would make
the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
And guess what for neither team? I did? You know why?

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Because last year, uh.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
The Arizona Diamondbacks got lucky at the end and they
kind of sneaked in and everything went right for the Rangers,
and I was like, you're not gonna duplicate that.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
It's hard to do it. And it was a gut feeling.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
And with the Lions, all I'm saying is their window
was it makes that window closing. They don't have the
same two coordinators. I'm not I'm not with Dan Gamble, Okay,
so now we're going to see what kind of coaching
he is. And Jared Golf turned into the pumpkin that
I thought he would.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
I'm just telling you for.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
Year all year, man argued about you and I'm not
bringing you in this ye all year and all I
said was how many times were you wrong? The Friday
before the game, I said, And if Jared Goff throws
three interceptions, I said, Daniels know why he was available

(28:19):
from the.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
He was wrong every week until one time. This is
what I did with Fred. By the way, Fred is
joining us by the way of visa, and you can
check in out visas feeling like drafting all Tomate dream team,
just like a defense trusts linebackers like Fredd, and you
can visit visa to protect your transactions.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
We'll get some more on visa here.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
I might need your health to get an approval on
my visa card.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
It might be a little bit.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
You know, I can help you out transactions.

Speaker 8 (28:45):
They got to make sure we're protect against all that fraud. Yeah,
we're tackling fraud, all right. We also too we've been
talking about Jared Goff. But y'all right now, man, how
you feel about Perdy?

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Your team?

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Where you guys are this year? Obviously disappointing, got a
bunch of injuries, But how do you feel about you
are set up right now going into the next season.

Speaker 8 (29:01):
I would love to hear his opinion about brock Party, right,
I'm Marty. Yeah, I probably already know, but let me
go ahead and talk a little to you a little bit. Yeah,
brock Party came in last pick of the draft. He
will always have that attached to his name going forward,
as that being mister irrelevant, being the last picked up.
Had he been drafted top five in it in the
first round, we wouldn't be having any of the conversations
that we're having right now. But because he was and

(29:23):
you know, he was about six foot you know, doesn't
have the measurables up. But Josh Allener doesn't run around
like Lamar Jackson. That doesn't matter. He plays a position
at such a high level. His processing speed of the
game is unlike anything I've seen, only going going in
the year four, he just finished his third season in
the NFL. Right, he was an MVP candidate as a
second year quarterback. Regardless of the the mister Irrelevant talks

(29:46):
and all us, this was the MVP quarterback we talk about.
He took us to the Super Bowl after having Tommy
John surgery the year before. We took us to the
NFC Championship because Jimmy Robber got hurt.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Like you go and.

Speaker 8 (29:55):
Watch the tape and you watch this cat like he's
doing all the no look passes, throwing it time in
rhythm and timing, being able to create with his legs.
He does all the things that the elite quarterbacks in
his league do. Just look at turning that way. Look,
I said I was signing friend, Hey, and I'm not
even speaking off a bias.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
A guy who and you and you watch or whatever,
and a guy who's covered.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
The league since nineteen eighty.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
I've seen all these quarterbacks and it's not that he's
mister irrelevant because that's what people like to use. Kurt
Warner wasn't even drafted, So when people talk about that,
nobody said, oh, this guy can't play, because when he
came out on the field, he did it, won a
Super Bowl all that, so it didn't matter that he
was not drafted. Sure, and brock Perty's case, you guys

(30:43):
had already gone to the super Bowl without him. Sure,
you guys had all these weapons. So that's the issue.
If he can't get you over the hump, people have
a right to look and say, maybe he isn't that
guy because you already went to the Super Bowl. You
had and then last year when you didn't have all
your pieces, he ain't looked like the same quarterback. Great

(31:03):
quarterbacks are able to elevate when you don't have everybody.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
So do you see what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
What you're saying, I might say, no, no, that is
not what I'm saying here.

Speaker 8 (31:14):
I think in that Super Bowl game, you go and
watch that game, he finished with the ball in his hand.
We have more points than the other team. It was
up to the defense. And now stop Patrick Mahomes, who
obviously we know is like he the boogeyman in the
NFL and then now won everything. So you can't put
that on him at the end of the day, like
it is a team it's a team game, and you
can't say you're telling me that Okay, yeah, he has
a lot of weapons around him. Name a quarterback in

(31:34):
his league who doing got a lot of way. No,
I'm not saying that he was doing it, but I mean,
I know Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
That's that.

Speaker 8 (31:38):
I feel like he's probably the only one I see
who's like, you can't really talk about the guy.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
Who is a good running Yeah, they got they got players,
they's a lot.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
I don't you speaking.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
But I'm saying here the reason that when you look
at a quarterback, and that's why I bring up Kurt Warner,
is that brock Purty. Yes he looked good and people
are like, okay every day, but do you really feel
like if you don't have everything, you need some people
working at right. If everything's right, they're going to be right.

(32:15):
But if everything ain't right, they might not be able
to do it. And that's why I think until he
wins the Super Bowl, nobody will ever buy in.

Speaker 8 (32:23):
If I was a forty nine shoe. Even if he
do win a Super Bowl hit nobody got people.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
No.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
I think if he plays well, people will have to
at least acknowledge that he's done it. I want to
say this too, since we're talking about quarterbacks, and I
think Lamar Jackson got job the first team All Pro.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
You know you're a defensive player.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
You've seen Josh Allen played against Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
I think he's the best player in the league. Where
Jay I think, yeah, Lamar, Yeah, Lamar.

Speaker 8 (32:52):
He had his numbers were double from his MVPC in
last season. So that's why that was a little bit
of like, oh okay, Like I thought that's how it go.
Like he won the VP last year and he got
better this year, so why wouldn't he win it?

Speaker 2 (33:05):
But you know, Josh Allen.

Speaker 8 (33:06):
I don't want to take anything went from Josh all
He had a tremendous season and obviously we played against
him and they took it to us. But I guess
how they're voting for it with my understanding now is
like what's your value to your team?

Speaker 2 (33:18):
I guess you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (33:19):
They're they're looking at Lamar situations saying all right, you
added Derrick Henry to the mix.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
You have a tremendous.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
Damn Peyton Manning's team makes me.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Listen, And that's why I don't vote. Like that's all.
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
I don't know, I don't know what the what are
you looking at right?

Speaker 1 (33:33):
Like like it's it's been oversighted that that Josh doesn't
have anything. We team might not have twenty all pros
or something, but they're overstating his line is great. James
Cook is great, He's got decent tight ends. I mean,
they're acting as if he did it was Barren. They
have nothing. And and how Lamar numbers go up with Derek,
I think they would go back.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Right because Derek Kenedy took up right, that actually went
up he did.

Speaker 8 (33:56):
But then obviously teams got to now account for Derrick
Henry when they not account as much for Lamar Jackson
went before they got Dereck Henry. It's like all your
whole game plan is for Lamar j Both of their
numbers were crazy.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
They were yeah, absolutely, Derrick Henry and Lamar.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
I just I just think the voters were cowards because
to me, you gotta if you voting for somebody for
first Team All Pro quarterback, he gotta be your MVP
vote since eighty said yes, So they didn't feel comfortable
giving that to that to Josh look like all the numbers,
got all the numbers.

Speaker 8 (34:25):
But you get my point right. It was just interesting
to see that stat. I was like, oh, dang, I
didn't know that. That's how it went like, whoever was
the first team first Team All Pro quarterback translates into who.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
The eleven eleven years in a row? What he say?

Speaker 5 (34:36):
Nineteen eighty seven? That's what I started coming.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
I told he Fred on his on his handstone, we're
gonna put their hairlines.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Rob Parker, who covered the.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
League since nineteen eighty six, yoch Fred, all right, we'll
get you out here. Give us a little bit more man,
while you're partnering with Visa.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Yeah, man, partnering with Visa is like drafting the ultimate
dream team.

Speaker 12 (34:54):
Man.

Speaker 8 (34:54):
They're just they're so great at protecting people against fraud,
protecting their transactions, just like people trust me on the
field in defending against offensive against.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Like quarterbacks lak Jaxson, I said, Jared go and Jared
got through.

Speaker 8 (35:06):
And Jared goff in there are you trying to defend.
It ain't easy to defend against fraud. All right, I'll
tell you that it does an outstanding job.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
Man.

Speaker 8 (35:15):
They're the ultimate defensive line man just over there defending
for you.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
That's dope. Man. We got to ask you who you
got winning?

Speaker 4 (35:23):
You got because I'm with the ABC anybody but the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
I'm the old with you all the Eagles all day.

Speaker 8 (35:30):
Now, I'll ask you this, like, don't you believe in
the fact that you know the person who's been there
and done it before like they got did because they
know the recipe?

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Ye does not.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
But I think that their luck is going to run out.
They've been lucky all How is it?

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Luck is luck?

Speaker 4 (35:45):
You watch some of the games where people of fumbling you,
but do you look to hit to you hit the
up you hit.

Speaker 8 (35:52):
Into the super Bowl, beating Josh Allen the fourth time
in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
And who's the MVP of the season seventeen eight games
of a one score wins?

Speaker 2 (36:01):
You? Me and Fred. You're gonna you know what, I
feel like a Loki is destiny with this.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
You're gonna come back and go You know what, man,
that guy's been covering the league.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Got a team that could be throwing them here with
Philadela Eagles.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
Yes, they run the football, they got a great line offensive.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Defy, got it.

Speaker 8 (36:15):
They don't have a weakness in the weakness and weakness.
But we had to say that the same story they
said against about the forty nine ers last season.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Yeah, and Loug what happened? Yep.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
So that's his way of saying, Chiefs that got the
Chiefs winning by.

Speaker 8 (36:27):
You're gonna picked the Chiefs that beach. I'm not listening.
I'm not picking them. I hate both teams. That's why
I never left my lips saying, oh, I got right, we.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Ran between the lines. Fred Man, wish you all the
best day you got. I appreciate you boys.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
By the way, I want another ten year career, twelve

Speaker 2 (37:57):
All the shows too. SARW Covino and Rich Rocking and
Stuff as well.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
All right, we have Dan Campbell did not win Head
Coach of the Year.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
Kevin O'Connell won that. And there's there's.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
An idea that Kevin O'Connell had a surprise season. Nobody
saw it coming, so it kind of makes sense. I
see it on the paper, right, you can see it. Okay,
makes sense. They didn't expect it to be that good,
Sam do. We saw the best version Sam Donald we've
ever seen. So I think all of those are contributing factors.
So I'm not overly mad that he wanted It makes.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
Sense to pay some There were some fans who were met,
but it was like fifteen and two, bests.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Say, and had to fight back rob from a litany
of injuries. And to your point earlier, I think we
were talking to Fred about that when you said, you
know teams who just because they win, just because they
go to the Super Bowl, a big championship game, they
fall down. Which is why you think the Lions will
do it next year. That's the story for another day.
They didn't. They lost an NFC championship game in heartbreaking fashion,

(38:54):
came back even better, even better, and we're fifteen and two,
and obviously the postseason doesn't have anything to do with
the regular sea, and so I could see why folks
would be like, well, Dan Campbell sat there, they got better.
They were the number one offensive team plus biggest plus
point differential in the league, and they beat that team,
the Vikings twice. So I could see why folks would be, uh,

(39:14):
you know, upset about that.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
Yeah, I think that Kevin O'Connell should have been coaching
the year because no one expected did anything.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
They didn't last place.

Speaker 5 (39:24):
Maybe people were picking the Bears to go to the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
I think Nick right picked them.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Is my man, But yeah, I think he picked them
in the chiefs right, Yeah, I think naked Bears. I
mean that was our way of hair and the ponytail
two tight or something that man.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Though.

Speaker 4 (39:39):
The other thing too is they lost, right JJ McCarthy
was supposed to be their quarterback. Sam Donald was was
out of nowhere backup right, and they won fourteen games,
And I just think that the people looked at that
and said, we weren't expecting anything from them.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
How did he get them there?

Speaker 4 (39:56):
And yes, they did lose to the light of I
think a lot lot of coaches with good teams don't
win the don't win the Coach of the Year.

Speaker 1 (40:03):
Yeah, and that happens. That's why I said, I'm not
overly mad. You could make a case for Dan Campbell,
but obviously Kevin O'Connell, justifiably so would win that one.
All right, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs if they win,
is he the goat? We'll talk about it. Fox Sports Radio,
