Don't forget. In about twenty eight minutes. Tyler Dragon, the
NFL reporter for USA Today, does a great job so
I'm down at the Super Bowl. We did at one
of the parties, remember that, and last Call as well.

(01:27):
It was great having Scott Bars the agent. Anybody broke
down a lot of stuff that was game. He gave
out free game.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
If you're if you're an athlete right now, happy to
be listening to that couple. You got a lot of
game on. How do you know what you need to do?
Go check in on your agent? Hey agent, are you
agent ing the way you need to be doing? Did
you listen to Scotland replay that? That podcast segment for him?

Speaker 3 (01:46):
That was all? He was awesome, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
But we're gonna wrap up the final hour of the
program and stick with the NBA All Star Weekend that
took place in San Francisco, and Steph Curry named the
MVP of the All Star Game with a booming twelve points,
Thank you, eleven minutes, Thank you very much all it
takes nowadays to be an All Star MVP.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
MVP.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
But his teammate Draymond Green, who did you see the
big old Oscar Robertson ripped them?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Draymond, No, oh, you gotta get that too. We get
that fun.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
I feel like the Big Old always take a shot
to somebody. He took a shot, And when was the
last time I seen the Big Old just like pleasantly
just having a great time. Big O' is sniping people, yep,
for the last twenty five years.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
But he made even bigger news when he was writing
a check that Steph Curry and others have to cash
because Draymond ain't winning nothing, but he guaranteed the Warriors
winning a title this year.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
And let's hear from mister Draymond, We're going to win
the championship. Say that one more time so that everybody
here that I didn't hear you my earpiece because they
add a Jimmy Buller the third sonyone.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
I'm sorry, I said, I think we're going to win
a championship, but I lie, we are going to win
the champion Wow.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
He said, I think we're gonna win. Nah, I'm sorry,
we are gonna win the NBA Championship. And you know,
they got some good weed out there in the Bay Area.
Maybe Draymond was on it. Uh, maybe Draymond was having
too good of a time.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Maybe he was at home, you know, Chase Arena there
feeling good with the people.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
No Draymond, You're not going to win the title. The
only thing I would agree with him was but he
further went on with that explanation. He said, there's nobody
right now currently say Boston. I have to give them
respect to the raigning champs, but there's nobody that I fear.
And that's the only thing I will agree with him.
I do not believe the Warriors are winning. That ain't happening.

(03:47):
But I do agree there's no bohemoth. You know, there's
no twenty eighteenth.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
To have a bohemoth, Like like when I hear that
nobody's guaranteed. The year after Denver one they lost, Like,
there's no guaranteed.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
What I'm saying is twenty fifteen to twenty ninety, we
knew it was gonna.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Be CAS Warriors Roy.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
But here here's my issue too, And I'm not trying
to stop you. They're sitting around the table or whatever. Oh,
Jimmy Butler means that because we watched earlier this year
when you lost by forty at home, So is that
what you're telling me?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Or you've been basically under five hundred.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
So he's a savior even though he's never won a championship.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Is that what you're telling me.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Like, like, explain what that means. It is just so hard.
These people sit around the table, they're getting paid money,
and they refuse to ask questions of push back.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
How Dramond? Why now? Why now that Jimmy that you're
not too old? Thank you?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
And it's funny Jimmy Butler's been to the finals twice,
he never won, but now.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
He's gonna win. That's all I would ask.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
But no, they sit around and go show you what
your chest instead of challenging him. Why are you saying this?
Why are you grand standing? Why are you guaranteeing something
that you will have little to do with if they
do win? So the pH so they so they One
thing they did ask was your personality.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
You're an alf alpha. Jimmy's in alpha. How is that
kind of gonna work that dynamic? And he said, real
alphas don't have to, you know, try to out out
for the other person. And one thing I like this, Yeah,
I used to have a little alfalfa haircut my hair.
What they called it the China wall. I had this
little wall right here like like this, yeah, like that
got the highest iver got it was six inches. It's

(05:30):
pretty cool Ian you want you know nothing about that.
I and this was back in the nineties. You know
nothing about that, Absolutely nothing.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I know.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
It's all good.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
I still like you, though, So what the thing Draymond
said that I give him respect about. He said, I
don't mind falling in line to Steph and Jimmy in
the sense of they're the better players. We're gonna have
to ride them in order to win a championship. But
the war is that they don't have enough. It's too
late to try to find that bond H and I
don't think they have the bench enough. The bit like

(05:56):
the depth and the bench rotation. Steve Kirkr changes rotation
every other day.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
He don't.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Lately he looks like like he's never won, like somebody
I wanted kevindurantback am I right, Like he's what he wanted.
He looks like, oh my god, I can't believe I'm
sitting here watching you know how we make fun of
Tiger Woods. For hey, it's Tiger He's hey, it's Steve.
Uh Hey, KD. What are you doing. I had nothing
to do with that. You're not being in the video.

(06:22):
I didn't know Draymond was gonna call you a b
on national TV. You know, I'm a nice guy. Can
you come on back at Steve because he wanted k
D back? But No, the Warriors, they don't have enough.
And it's not that the two Jimmy and Steph won't
have good nights without a doubt. They're all competitors. They've
been there, they know what. You know, they're championship proven guys.

(06:42):
I will not take that. They've earned that.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Uh, the you know, Draymond and Stephan kind of the
organization and Jimmy being a tough, hard nosed plus season player,
I'll give them that. They don't have enough. Draymond isn't
Draymond that he was Steph? This has not been a
great season for Steph.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
And I just don't know Jimmy has enough for them
to get by some of these teams. I mean, can
they get by Uh? You know, obviously OKC is incredible youth.
They got a bunch of young horses that are coming
at you. Do they who the heck is guarding Jokics.
Draymond's gonna file out in the at the second quarter?
You know, do they have enough to deal with Memphis?

(07:19):
The Grizzlies right now. So I don't just and that's
just in the West. So I don't absolutely see how
they can beat the Celtics, the Calves, the Thunder, the
Nuggets as well as the Grizzlies, and then the Lakers
might even have something to say and if it came
down to the series.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
And then it wasn't enough to say that what else
that he's been offered the Warriors.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
I think your job this might be bigger than me.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
Right.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
I'm like, if you're Steve Kerr, you gotta sit there
and go what what didn't I win four championships as
the coaching they offer Draymond Green, who's going around punching
teammates and whatnot, that's the guy who's gonna be the
head coaching and work everybody.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Man.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Really, again, I didn't hear the end of that. Did
they challenge him?

Speaker 4 (08:04):
No, they just he kind of just said, oh, by
the way, you know, I've been told by the Warriors
that when that I should be next in line with
Steve retires. Now, first of all, let's actually take him
at his word.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Brouh, We told you.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
That that was between us. You don't have to get
on the all Star.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
National genuinely might have said that to him, meaning you know,
but they could have said, you're somebody who could you know,
we liked some of your qualities like blah blah blah
to make a make up we made assistant coach, but
really like, heck, he gonna take over for the Warriors.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
Come on, I don't I don't buy that.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
My only thing is rob even like I totally get
what you're saying, not buying it because obviously he hasn't coached.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
And if anything, he set himself up more for the
TV game.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
But he also has issues, like seriously, like with teammates
and and stuff.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
He ran kd off right.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
What you also have remember is Jordan Pooley sucker punch.
Is that really put a jump into that punch? I
thought you didn't be players on that team right now,
if Draymond was the coach, you'll probably say I don't
want to be here. I'm serious, not intellect Draymond's one
of the best basketball minds of his generation.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
That's not even a question. Nobody debates that. The issue
is temperament, and one thing people forget. I don't even
mind necessarily him being fiery and maybe going at guys.
That's because there's plenty of now coaching put your hand
who have had issues with you know, when they were
a player, they were rough and tough. That's not an
issue for me. The thing is more so Rob Michael Jordan.

(09:35):
You know why he wouldn't have been a good coach.
He even admitted, do what I would have done? That's
not coaching, right, coaching, is it? I would have did that.
We see that the great players.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
It's hard to coach because they can't fathom why you
didn't do that and wouldn't do that?

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Adult work hard? How could you not hit that?

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Tom Williams was the manager of the Washington Senators and
they were horrible. He's one of the greatest hitters of
play baseball. Because it doesn't easy to explain do what
I would have done. Some of the great coaches are
guys whom Steve Kerr. I'm a role player because you know,
I understand, hey are take your time with Phil Jackson.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Role player. I know how to be patient with guys.
I know how to take time. I understand the temperament.
What's my man? That was with the Pistons and then
went to the Mavericks. Now Indiana. Rick Carlisle another role
player with the Celtics. You kind of got get to
see what's going on. What's what's happening? Okay, cool, I
understand how to you know, position myself with guys and

(10:30):
watch and watch it.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
It's hard for some.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Of the best, most competitive, hard those players ever because
they're just like you don't get it, man, be like me.
And I'm not saying they can't coach. We've had some
examples of that. I think Larry Bird had a really
good coaching career, but he had two great assistants.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
And I'm not saying you know what I mean, like
like it was all Larry Bird. You gotta have assistance
matter if you've ever had to play Tick Carter and
Rick Carlisle, those were his assistance. You need great assistants,
even though if you played at a high school level.
My coach shout to coach whip man know how to
just hey man, it's a coach, man, man, they know

(11:05):
because coach has to go everybody right.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Bigger and you need the other coach all time. They
don't how to get to you a ron man. This
is what we got to look man, come on, man,
you already got let's go work on this work on
your left. We're going to and their assistants are huge, big.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Time, But uh, Draymond just unplugged, unhinged, and to guarantee
a title. I mean really that was two coaching job
like anything else. Right, I'm just trying to figure out
eight seven in California when I'm doing to eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. I mean, talk about it

(11:37):
inflated like like like Draymond is on the deep end,
and I get it because they mentioned him all the time.
All you're going to replace Charles Barkley. He's not Charles Barkley.
I want to tell you that he's not.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
He's literally one of one Charles, so he might replace
in the sense of someone Charles is one on one
and I like Draymond, but he Chuck is Chuck literally
for the last thirty forty years between his playing days
and uh, you know, post career days.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
eight seven seven ninety I don't even know what the
number is ninety nine on Fox, right, but eight seven
seven ninety nine six.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Sixty three six. That's what you get for trying to
do that. Eight seven seven nine nine, six sixty three.
It was real Ax, you had to put the glasses
on get this number.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
I couldn't even remember the number all of a sudden
because you threw me off. But anyway, we want to
hear from you. Draymond Green he made it guarantees. He
don't name it now. Oh you're buying Draymond's guarantee? And
or can you see him as a head coach of
the Warriors replacing Steve Kerr.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
When it's all said and done. We want to hear
from you.

Speaker 1 (12:45):

eight minutes or so.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Talk some football with him.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Right now, we're talking about Draymond rob guaranteeing some stuff,
guaranteeing the Warrior is gonna win the championship and he
is gonna be uh the successor to uh Steve Kirk
as the head coach of the Warriors or anything else
he wanted to knock out.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
I know, the mayor San Francisco, and he's going.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
To replace me on the odd couple when I retire
in between while he replaces Charles Barkley.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
That's right, Charles Barkley. To remember, if he can spell eagle,
he could be the mayor of Philadelphia. There you go.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Gosh, she did come back and try to explain it
to you. Got to take the she was too happy.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yeah, you can't spell eagle.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
You didn't see the marriage Philly. She got trying to
do the e A. She is bad letter.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
That she missed again. I catre.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
It was like she said, g yes, everybody's key clapping.
He's the mayor, key clapping, keep clapping. He's the mayor.
Keep clapping, all right, soh yeah, it's fun.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Eight, Episode nine nine on Fox, we.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Got Steven Iowa. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
Steve, Hey, what's.

Speaker 7 (14:42):
Up, gentlemen, Thanks for having me.

Speaker 8 (14:43):
I appreciate the time.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Look, Man.

Speaker 8 (14:47):
Dresman trying on a dresses aka personas first for a minute, now,
all right, I'm talking about through his career. The dude
just wanted to beat he Rod, Dennis Ram and Bull.
The man is trying to be the bad boy. He
tried to be the solid player, but then he tried
to go goo. Look it didn't work. He got caught

(15:07):
up with the NHL watching a little too long, and
then Drain thought, wait a minute, now, things just got
to be the right time, the right moment. It's not
gonna happen. My man has already tried to do too
many things in his career. And him trying to talk
about going to be the head coach of the Golden
State Wars and in front of Steve Kerr, we got
to run with Michael Jordan's like, I think you're stepping

(15:30):
a little out in front of your skis there, my man?
And then my other point on this, and then I'll
let you guys comment the commissioner in the NBA. My
man's going to make a move. The dude wants to
be like, but man, you've got to be like a
David seron late night phone call. I don't like when
I'm here, I'm coming to the arena on my slippers.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
No, I hear you.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
I appreciate you, Joe, thank.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
You, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Brother Phill in Minneapolis, a couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (16:01):
What's unmet? Hey listen up?

Speaker 2 (16:05):
So so uh uh brother.

Speaker 9 (16:08):
You know he played here for like I think.

Speaker 10 (16:11):
It's seasons and uh he he didn't really.

Speaker 9 (16:15):
Jive well with Carl Anthony Towns because.

Speaker 8 (16:17):
He thought he was soft.

Speaker 9 (16:18):
He didn't play hard, uh when he was injured. But
but that's his mentality, you know he is. He's a
big shoulder guy, just like Curry, the big shoulder guy.
And I believe there's some people, just like when you
watch teams that traded to get different type of pieces
for their team, like the Pistons back in the day

(16:39):
or the Bulls back in the day, they're gonna put
together a run because these guys really ain't He really
hasn't played, so his body's rested.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
I really okay, Phil, let's say this. Hold on, hold on,
hold on, Phil, hold on. So you're saying that you
agree that the war is going to win the champions
I just want to get you on the records.

Speaker 9 (16:58):
I would just yes, yes, But I also believe that
if they want a good All Star Game, why don't
they do what the baseball does and whoever wins the
game gets home.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
They don't do that. Don't do that anymore. They did
it for a while, they stopped it. Appreciate it. I
get that.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
I get feel appreciate him trying to come up. So
I just like I shouldn't have to. I should just
all for forty eight minutes, entertaining fans. Give it your all.
You're making a lot of All Star games. These are
the accolades that get you in the Hall of Fame.
Eight time All Star champions. You're wearing the jersey you
want people to go out. I want to buy an
All Star jersey. Boy, I just watched a great All
Star game. I want to I gotta pay you a

(17:39):
million dollars. I got you everything.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Millions regularly, Ridict, every two weeks the check comes through
for millions. Come on now, Doug in Colorado. You're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Doug
oh Well.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
In regard to Draymond, I don't see him as a coach.
The guy has no impulse control. And I hate to
skew the conversation on you a little bit. That the
thing that's all my mind in regard to a replacement
for Steve Kerr. If I remember when Curry came into

(18:17):
the league, how he was kind of shy and he
would sit on that bench with the dow on his head.
But over the years and the time that's passed, if
you listen to his comments in his postgame interviews, there's
a wisdom and an insight into the NBA and basketball
and the mechanics of teamwork that comes through in his comments.

(18:46):
And there's a maturity there. And some of the other
comments he's made about basketball. I don't know what is
going to happen when he's done with the game as
a player.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
He's made so much money, so much money.

Speaker 6 (19:01):
I hear your point, I just I don't think he's
gonna be done with basketball right, but.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
I would see him and thanks for the call, appreciate it.
In the front office is something more so than the coach.
I think you go to Kobe Bryant creating content, great
documentaries about even about basketball, about life, about being a father,
about being a husband, about his faith. I think I
see him going that route, just more entertainment, more sports,
more you know, even helping the people.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Like got the golf thing and all the stuff. I
don't see him being a coach. He doesn't strike me.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
I give his point though, he's he's a smart guy
obviously as well, but I don't seehim a inn the coach.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
All one more HAVO havevo in Nashville. You're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (19:39):
Hey, first and foremost, just want to thank you guys.
You guys are incredible. I'll listen to you guys every night.

Speaker 9 (19:44):
Love.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Yeah, that means a lot, Yes, sir, I hate Tito
pass me a tissue these.

Speaker 8 (19:53):
Guys, these guys man.

Speaker 7 (19:55):
Yeah, I just wanted to weigh out on a Draymond man.
I don't get why he gets so much hate. I mean, yes, I.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
Know you don't.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
You don't.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
You don't get why punching a sucker, punching a teammate, Okay.

Speaker 7 (20:08):
I mean no, no, no, that's what I was about
to touch on.

Speaker 9 (20:11):
I get it, and he's he's.

Speaker 7 (20:12):
Done some questionable things, his antics sometimes, what he does
on the court off the court.

Speaker 6 (20:17):
I get that.

Speaker 7 (20:18):
But let's just be honest. Without Draymond Green on those
Golden State Warrior seams, do they won those finals?

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Yes? No, yes, no, yes, no.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
No.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Listen to me, Listen to me, listen, hold on, hold on, Hovo,
you're acting like if Draymond wasn't there, it wouldn't be
somebody else, like you know, No, I don't.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
I don't agree with that. Okay, somebody else would be
playing there.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Not saying exactly, but to just say that without the
Steph or somebody went on a team or KD. Yes,
but you can't tell me they wouldn't win anything without Draymond.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
I don't buy that. They absolutely would not.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
That's the reason why Steve Kirk gives him such a
long leash, Why Steve Alway says, we don't No, he's
the temperament of that team.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
I don't know. I don't.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
I think that that's overblown that he they wouldn't win anything.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
Maybe they won one, they don't win nothing else. They
absolutely I don't think they win one.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
They were up three to one. He came back and
played the last two games, and what happened. He was
on that team.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
He was on that team. They don't win anything.

Speaker 7 (21:20):
Go ahead, last point when he got suspended Game six,
get suspended, the Warriors wouldn't that final really won?

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Didn't they win out?

Speaker 10 (21:30):
No?

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Hovo, I'm mad they still they should have still won.
It could have.

Speaker 7 (21:34):
Won that Sermond, No, but they didn't.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
He came back and played game six and seven, and
game seven was at home.

Speaker 7 (21:42):
And on top of that, Draymond Green could guard one
through five. He's been on defensive players.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
I agree that. I agree they don't win without him, dude, and.

Speaker 7 (21:50):
His IQ for the game. I know he's he's not
a likable guy, but he has great IQ for the game.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
I think you're overvaluing that. Nobody else could play. I'm
not saying his level, but couldn't have played in that position.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Really good player they were, they wouldn't have had that
temperament to be that tough without him because curated.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
I have that one.

Speaker 9 (22:10):
They had one.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
That doesn't mean you go under nobody. Michael Jordan is
the only person who went undefeated. Like everybody else. Magic
lost four out of five nine times. Lebron's lost a
million times.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
I'm not saying he's not a part of the team,
but I'm not buying that that without Draymond they wouldn't
have any championship.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
I don't buy that. I do.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
I buy a wholesale I buy it like I buy it,
like you buying a deal at ross.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
I don't buy that. This shirt was eight dollars.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
I'm buying it. Appreciate you forty six, forty nine. My bad,
Thank you for listening.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Hovo. All Right, we got Tyler Dragon.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
You can go back stuff and envelopes to the Draymond
Green fan club like that.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
He just that's what he is. He's like a Draymond
Green fan boy. He's spending facts.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Okay, they needed him, all right, Tyler Dragon USA today
on the way looking forward to hearing he has to
do some NFL news right now. It is Steve the Seger.
Do you what do you think Steve was? Do you
think they win without Draymond?

Speaker 11 (23:01):
I don't any sure, that's a talented team, thank you
literally zero No, I don't buy that.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
I think that's an over estimation of Draymond.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
He literally, especially seeing who Kevin Durant has become, he
was the temperament that sometimes you have.

Speaker 11 (23:16):
To get, without a doubt, an integral part of those
championship teams. But to say they literally would have won
zero crazy one morning thing real quick.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
They needed him, Scott boris interesting.

Speaker 11 (23:35):
Yes, it was was Yeah, with a little background, the
kind of stuff that you could only get from an agent.
He was breaking it down, breaking it down like the
back of the background of MLB finances and what kind
of stuff gets spantied around in those.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
Private I was taking notes. By the way, I thought
that was really interesting.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
It was.

Speaker 11 (23:55):
By the way, that segment right after was your best
of the whole year.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
Listen, we tried which the one that was seconds.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I caught a seat riveting radio.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
I was gonna say something, but I want to hold
don't disrespect my tie wreck dot com reed.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
That was pretty much the whole second We got that in.

Speaker 11 (24:15):
Yes, so okay, everybody's happy in Boston Tonight at Hockey's
four Nations face off, the US Cord in the opening minute,
but now trail Sweden two to one mid second period.
We do know the Americans are already in the Thursday
finale of this mini tournament against Canada, which today advanced
with a five to three victory over Finland. The NBA
is off until a Wednesday makeup game, Hornets at Lakers.

(24:37):
In men's college basketball, mid second half, Number three Duke
is leading sixty three to forty at Virginia, which apparently
will be falling to six and nine in the ACC
Arizona at Baylor will be the late game. Auburn is
ranked number one for a sixth straight week. Florida is
up to number two. The a's game manager Mark kottse
a three year extension. Mike Trout of the Angels is

(24:58):
switching to right field to try to stay healthy. The
Padres invited veteran first baseman Julie Guriel to spring training,
and the Cincinnati Bengals playing a franchise tag wide receiver
T Higgins again this year if they can't sign him
to a long term deal in the next two weeks.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
That is.

Speaker 11 (25:12):
The NFL's tag window officially opens on Tuesday afternoon and
last until March fourth back to you.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
Here's Steve the saga and that was not a forty
second quick segment there. Thank you, Steve, have a great
have a great night. Yeah yeah, I said it, Steve.
They don't win without him, all right? Fine?

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Joined out by.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
Tyler Dragon Company lot for the tyreck dot Com Studios
for USA.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Today.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
He's still eating some Benyet's Jump Alive and gumbo. And
the last time we saw him was in New Orleans.
He was stuffing his face. What's up man?

Speaker 12 (25:43):
Yeah, I was just about to say. The last time
I saw you too, I was eating a lot of Dnets,
Jump a Lion gumbo. So yeah, yeah, you gotta right,
you gotta right.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
And my mentee got me into the shack party. Oh
yeah yeah. By the way, my phone works to both
of you. It's all right.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Just he didn't have that many tickets. Some smoke when
I see you, Tyler, some smoke, Tyler. Tyler was like,
all right, I got one ticket available. Who would I
give it to? My mentor? My rob is doing is
giving us to play by play, making me feel worse.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
They got free food.

Speaker 12 (26:17):
I got you doing n ab jacobss. You know how
we get down during that that's.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
Right, Yeah, whatever, whatever, All right, man, what you want
to get to there's so much that happened. I want
to start off with T Higgins. Let's go to the
NFL franchise, Yeah, franchise another.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
That's what working for the cheapest organization in the NFL.
Got the twenty something million last year. He has to
go up twenty percent this year. So it's gonna be
aroundable is a twenty six seven is something eight million
a year? It's they franchise him for a second time.
Joe Burrow has been very vocal about, hey man, other
people are figuring out the way the Eagles are figuring
out why everybody?

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Why not us?

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (26:50):
You know, I'm hearing the same thing that they're going
to try to get a long term extension not only
with T Higgins but with Trey Hendrickson and Jamar Chase.
And it's gonna remains to be seen that the Bengals
are going to be able to do it. I mean,
the salary cap is only so much, and Lamar Chase
wants to be the highest paid receiver in all of football.

(27:12):
Trey Hendrickson led the NFL in sacks and he wants
to be paid like a premium defensive end. And then
you have t Higgins, who in the open market will
probably command thirty million dollars annually. So the Bengals they're
going to have to back up the brings trucks to
bring all those guys back. Now, Joe Burrow during Super
Bowl Week at Radio Row, he's been a national media

(27:34):
saying that he wants all those his teammates to come
back and the Bengals to pay them. But the Bengals,
historically they're no not to pay premium prices for all
their pop notch players. So we'll see if the Bengals
can do it. They want to do it. Joe Burrow's
putting pressure in them to back up the brinks trucks.

(27:57):
So the good news is that there's more mint uim
in that way that they'll get the deals down with
those three players.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Now, I can't believe they will. I just did the
history a good point.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
And Mike Brown, you know what I'm saying, Tyler, it's
a mom and pop store's he's not backed by like
a corporation. That's how he makes his money is off
the NFL. That's his business.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
That's it.

Speaker 12 (28:22):
Well, yeah, and you know I covered the Bengals for
a few seasons, and the Bengals they will push back
on you as there the narrative that they are a
chief franchise and they paid Joe Burrow at the time
he was the highest eight quarterback in the National the
Football League. They gave Trey Hendrickson a pretty decent contract
in free agency a few years back, and they're willing

(28:44):
to make Jamar Chase one of the highest paid players
ever in the history of the NFL. So they have
to put their money where their mouth is, though, because
the pressure is done them this offseason to pay those
players because this is a super Bowl window for advance goes. Yes,
they didn't make the playoffs this past season, but when
they're all healthy and underfield and they play to their potential,

(29:06):
they're one of the best teams in the AFC without
a doubt.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
All right, let's go here.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, My goodness, gracious, this is
kind of had this is and the Baltimore Banner who
they were trying to discredit. Remember we talked about this
and I was like, dude, that story doesn't go to
print with our lawyers and legal whatnot. And then all
of a sudden, now Tyler, sixteen women have come forward

(29:31):
on this whole thing and story. This is like a
Daja vu all over again with like Deshaun Watson. What
are you hearing anything on this?

Speaker 12 (29:41):
Yeah, the Ravens, they are aware of the situation, but
they haven't really made a public statement about the ordeal.
And maybe they want to let do process play out,
but this is not going anywhere. As you just said,
sixteen women have accused Justin Tucker of a miscon dug
seven more recently as early as a last week. So

(30:04):
the Ravens are going to have to at least at
bare minimum release the statement, maybe put Justin Tucker on
the commissioners. Example is if it gets that far, they're
almost gonna have to they have a president. What the
Deshaun Watson and what he went through means. Yes, it's
not as many women, but it's still the same type

(30:25):
of situation. So this situation is not going anywhere, and
I imagine it might even get worse.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
And I know we're all bad for this, but when
this story broke, we all said, no, wonder he struggled
this year, like you know, like you thought about it
in thought back of his head. Maybe it was in
the back of his mind like is this story going
to break or something was going on, cause you remember
he missed.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
He cost him two or three.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
Games without making and he's one of the best kickers
in the history of football.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Did you notice.

Speaker 12 (30:53):
That that that hassolidity, Because when your personal life isn't
going well, sometimes that translates to on the field and
you're not productive on the football field, basketball, or wherever
you're playing if your personal life is not going up far.
So yeah, I mean you can say that that had
an effect on Justin Tucker and he had probably his

(31:16):
worst season as a last year kicking field goals, he
was far and away the most accurate kicker in the
National Football League leading up to this past season, and
this season alone he had his worst career, worse of
the years his career.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Hey, Tyler, we got about a minute or so. I
want to ask you this one.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
It's almost not even fair to ask you this with
a minute, but staying on this one, you got Dana White,
remember if you recall he smacked his wife on camera.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
We got Justin Tucker.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Obviously, Rob and I have covered a bit, but it's
not like the Deshaun Watson. What do you make of
certain people who it kind of had is there and
it goes away, But other certain stories linger on in
some cases forever, you know, And how just you covering
the sport, covering these types of things, what do you
make of.

Speaker 12 (31:56):
That man that you know I need more than minutes
ever did. But I think there's a racial element in
this that that's the elephant in the room. And there's
a double standard when it's it comes to black athletes
or white athletes. And when it's a black athlete doing something,
a lot of times they get criticized with a huge microscope,

(32:19):
and when it's a white athlete, the things okay, well,
let's let do process play out. Let's see how it
all plays out. Maybe they're innocent till proven guilty, which should.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Be for everybody. I've always showd that black.

Speaker 12 (32:33):
Athletes is always guilty until proven innocent, and I think
that needs to change. But that's a microcosm of society.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Really. Yeah, well that's why you're a pro.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
Look at that one minute you had to questions and
we'll have you some more to talk a little bit
more about that. By the way, you can follow him,
give us the Twitter and the gram. So if you
can follow you, maybe you had some great stuff going on.

Speaker 12 (32:54):
Yeah, you can follow me on Twitter at the Tyler Dragon.
I tweet all the time, so feel free to give
me a follow.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
The junior doing everybody good.

Speaker 12 (33:03):
Yeah, he's walking around now, so I'm chasing him around everywhere.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
That's crazy, man, Alreadyzy, that is crazy.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
That is crazy man. Well, he congrats on everything. Appreciate
you joining us, brother, I have a.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Good one of course.

Speaker 12 (33:14):
Thanks, good night.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah, he touched on what I've been thinking.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Rob.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
It's just like man, Justin Tucker, nobody's really talking about it,
you know, Like I said, Dana White.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Going away with sixteen women though, I'll tell you that,
but you know what I mean, Yeah, and I don't know.
And there's two things and and and race is always
a part in the dialogue. But the other thing, too
is one's a big time quarterback. One's a kick there
who people didn't even know. And I'm not saying, you know,
if you know football, you know who Justin Tucker is.
But I don't know if his name.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Is hold you know what? Fair point. That's all.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
Yeah, that was just curious as like from him being
a writer, like I mean, my goodness, you know these
things that depends on which story.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
That's why when the story gets out and we talked
about with the ball they have covered, you got to
give them credit, like like they went and did their reporting,
did this thing and and and uh put it out
there and we talked about it. There's no way that
story didn't go out there without.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
That on the whole legal department several times too, to
make sure they had it all write the best their ability,
all right, Last call on the way eight seven seven

Saint Petersburg. You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Hey, guys, how y'all doing going pray?

Speaker 3 (36:38):
How are you?

Speaker 13 (36:39):
I'm good?

Speaker 12 (36:40):
Thank you for taking my call.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Yes, sir, thank you for calling.

Speaker 10 (36:44):
Hey, my pleasure.

Speaker 12 (36:44):
Hey, I had a quick take for you guys.

Speaker 10 (36:47):
I'm old enough to remember the NFL All Star Game
being after receive it, so I wanted to get you
guys take on if they would bring that back or
maybe if the NBA tries to how All Star game
after the season with that, he'll it be more competitive?

Speaker 3 (37:04):
That's a I mean he at this point all questions
are fair.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
Season is on those dudes on vacation, and you probably
wouldn't even get them to show off. And you got
to think to Jermaine that a lot of the best team,
the two best teams are gonna have all stars on it.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
So they're gonna be war out, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
Let's say it's the Celtics getting Tatum and Brown and
you know, maybe as Porzingis or something, and obviously whoever
they would play out the West, they're gonna be tie
On went all the way to.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
Mid June, and that's all I got the All Star Game.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
If you really think about it's the first half of
the season is over. You know, you reward those guys
who played well, and then it's a showcase for the league.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
Like we just talked about, here we.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
Are on February with nothing going on, like they have
a perfect opportunity sell leg game and their brand players
and stuff like that. Jermaine so not mad at the
attempt though, trying to figure it out. Like you said, Jermaine,
you sound like Adam Silver. He throwing anything at the wall,
all the spaghetti and see what sticks. Couple minutes here.
You want to talk about you boy?

Speaker 3 (38:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (38:02):
So so, uh come on and talk about We saw
this tweet, big tweet from Lebron kind of bashing out
on Doug Gottlieb, who did finally win a Horizon League
game in his conference.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
I think he had lost fourteenth.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Straight it's like two and what is he now? Two
and two and twenty or something like that. Yeah, I
guess who I talked to today for that what you
just said, George Blaha. I'll talk to George Blaha because
he's in the he's going into the Basketball Hall of
Fame as a broadcast.

Speaker 13 (38:35):
And you got that the tweet, Yeah, yeah, I got
it here yep, Lebron James responding to Doug Gottlieb. Here, Well,
there was a college basketball report saying that Doug Gottlieb
in Green Bay have not won a basketball game in
three months.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
That's now not true. I think they actually won one yesterday. No,
they did, that, was it?

Speaker 13 (38:52):
Yeah, So it's a little dated and a little because
Lebron James quote tweeted that today and saying earn to
not get gotta give him credit though, with a bunch
of laughing emojis and then some some poop emojis. Uh yeah,
so but but again, hey, jokes on Lebron, because Doug
has gotten a win since then.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
So yeah, and and and the other thing too, isad.
The backstory is that Doug apparently said on the show, well, yeah,
he's been going at but he said that BRONI wouldn't
be able to start for his team in Green Bay,
and obviously they hadn't won a game until weeks a least.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
So yeah, I was on his radar.

Speaker 4 (39:31):
Yeah, he didn't deserve to be in leagued and deserve
to be McDonald All Stars. So he's been going at it.
So this is why al I tell you, Ron Parker,
you don't want to listen to me. Lebron has been
the facing the league for twenty years and he still
reads tweets, He's still pinning tweets, saving tweets, and Kevin.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
Durant has Burner accounting.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
I keep telling you, social media, this stuff gets to
these guys. I'm trying. I know it shouldn't and I
know it didn't, but it doesn't even care. I'm just saying,
you're Lebron, Lebron, James Lebron.

Speaker 4 (39:59):
He could even he was off he was off Instagram
for a week and a half.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
Do you think that hurt?

Speaker 1 (40:05):
Doug Gottliebor helped him from the whole punchdown punch up,
And that's my thing. I keep trying to it shouldn't be,
but these guys, billionaire Lebron's a billionaire and a champion,
still caring about social media trash talking. Tuesday's coming, oh Man,
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.
Miss your radio show.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
