seen a big a freaking water during the show. And
this this is Look at this. This was a gift, okay,

gives you. Okay, it's nice, a stainless steel water thing.
This is from I don't know if you know Wale

(03:50):
who's the anchorman down in No, who's the anchorman down
an ABJA member, but seen him? But anyway, you know,
I'm looking at it and I'm not even paying a
close attention, and then I turn around and look at that.

Speaker 4 (04:05):

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Go?

Speaker 7 (04:21):
I just that's why you need a woman right there?
Women the little small things they're great at I'm not.
And they would have saw that and then sent a
little thank you note and all that.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
You're such a dou area. I'm sixty five now, but hey,
thank you. Hey, I just noticed. Thank you? Not the rapper.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
Yes, all right, let's welcome in the odd couple coop
because you wouldn't be able to do this farm radio
program without them.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Alex is our engineer. Who's that guy with the hat
on it? Sir? Another USC student? You start to notice
something here.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
You only bring on USC students or hire ex people
who have been your mentees.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
What's up with that?

Speaker 5 (04:57):
I'm not I'm just going for the down quality of
people so they meet you their quality school of course.
Steve nepotism. No, nepotism. Let's not get that starting scoopatism. Yeah,
school patism, adism.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
I didn't get him hired. I didn't get him highed.

Speaker 9 (05:21):
Chris got VJ hired, s Chris Board, you got VJ hired,
You got usc, you got Mark Martin Weiss, Shawn Sacramento.

Speaker 7 (05:31):

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Oh God, Steve Tanker desk. He'll keep us updated throughout
the program. And of course Steve at in class with
you two. He's actually going to speak to one of
my classes us. He did it before, so it was nice. Yeah,
I knew it was something.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
And Elijah's our social media he does a great job.
There's some connection there as well with Eliza. All right,
let's do this. Well, Elijah works from B BRO. Did
you know? I knew it? I knew it. Now.

Speaker 7 (06:15):
The craziest thing is you're gonna have people thinking somehow
we're connected like that?

Speaker 4 (06:19):
What like as I oh it was, was he Kelvin
in one of your classes? No, no, you were not.
All right, let's do this.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
I used to baby, Oh God, could you imagine that
would be funny?

Speaker 4 (06:31):
And now we're doing a radio that would be that,
that would be hilarious, that would we got a lot
to talk about. Well, let's go.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
NBA All Star Game weekend was in uh, of course
San Francisco, and a lot of stuff came out of
a lot of complaining from fans just it just was awful.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Like we thought it would be bad, it was worse.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
There's multiple right, and a lot of things across the board.
But let's let's center in on Lebron James first because
we'll talk about our number two some of the changes,
whether people liked it, Hour three, I think whether they
liked it or not, no hour two, Hour two or two,
and then Draymond Hour three. But let's start here with
Lebron James, and I'll be the first person. I'm not

(07:16):
going to tell somebody whether they're hurt or not. I've
never been in that business. Okay, he says, the guys
ankles bothering him. I'm going to respect him. I'm not
a doctor. I don't have any X rays. Somebody says
they're not feeling right or whatever. It ain't for me
to tell them that they need to get out there
and that they're faking it or jaking it or whatever

(07:37):
you want to use the term.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
So I'm not that guy.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
But he should have let him know earlier because somebody
else could have used that roster spot. But here's the
thing that bothered me even more. Taking the team picture
for the twenty twenty four to twenty five All Star team.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
In street clubs.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
I know that that's the nickname for Anthony Davis, right,
didn't Charles Barkley give him that street close from TNT?

Speaker 4 (08:10):
How tacky is that?

Speaker 5 (08:12):
And I'm gonna say this, Either you get dressed with
your teammates take the picture, or you step out and say,
you know what, I'm just gonna miss this picture. You
want to put a little picture of me in there
or something. I don't feel like you're dressed, but I
don't want to ruin the picture. And then the other thing,
Shame on the other players for allowing that to happen.

(08:32):
Nobody's nobody can stand up to him and say, yo, bro,
can can you put your uniform on? Or if you're not,
I'm not gonna take I'm not gonna be in this picture.
Have you ever seen a team picture with somebody street
clothes on?

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Yeah? A coach? Thank you?

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Okay, So I mean that that was ultimate disrespect. It
was like, I don't care what's going on. Okay, I'm
not playing. I'm gonna let you know at the last minute.
All right, all right, fine, you're injured. You're too injured
to put on your short and basketball top tank top?

Speaker 7 (09:07):
What really, big, big, big, big miss by Lebron. This
was an opportunity for Lebron, for somebody who's been known
for what setting guys up for passing to me, this
was a missed opportunity for Lebron. Number one. He's been
one of the best statesmen of the league. Right he's
been the face of the league, the statesman. He knows

(09:28):
when to say things with not to. But this was
just another me, me, me moment that didn't make sense.
If you're that hurt, obviously, as you just said, don't play. However,
you aren't hurt enough. It's just a little ankle that
you don't want to bother. Throw on the outfit, take
the pictures, work up a little sweat during warmups, and
that'd be that that's what participant. Go out there, do

(09:51):
the ceremonial, play a minute, call a time out, get
out the game.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
If you're going to do that, he's earned that. I'm
okay with that.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
Or Lebron is known for setting people up right, getting
people easy baskets, throwing nice aloups to set up to me, Rob,
this was a chance to set up another guy for
him to say, maybe a week ago, you know what.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
I'm gonna sit out.

Speaker 7 (10:11):
I'm honored for my twenty first, twenty second, you know,
All Star selection, but I'm gonna sit this one out.
Rest up with the family. I got a big push,
this is my last year or two. Let me make
this big push trying to do some things with Luca
and set up somebody else. This was a great chance
for him to say, you know what, here's a you know,
another guy. Let's say it was Trey Young. Obviously he

(10:31):
would ended up being because someone else got injured, but
this was somebody else who couldn't didn't make the team.
But here they are, here's an opportunity for this young
guy to make the All Star Game. I'm gonna sit
this one out. To me, those were the options. It
was just odd for him to just lastly say I'm
not gonna play, not dress, not participate.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
And here's the other part, Rob.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
We all knew this All Star game was one that
everybody was watching because a the new rules, the new
the winch gameplay, and everybody's like, man, come on in
the league, need to pick it up, Guys need to play,
Guys need to play. So the literal face of the
league to kind of just be nonchalant about it when
everybody's banking on the league and the game to be
what it needed to be, that part was disappointing.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
You get what I mean.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
If Lebron is there, he is Lebron James Steele. He
shows up, he's geared up, he works up a sweat
during warm ups, He comes out, plays a minute or two,
but then says, hey, guys, you know, go out there
and finish it up.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Do your thing.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
That's great, right, that's like the face of the league,
the elder selsman getting the thing going.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
And he didn't do that.

Speaker 7 (11:31):
He just showed up in a little hoodie in the
hand like, oh, y'all, good, go do that. Oh but
I make sure I'm in his picture though, so that
for ever they will remember me that I was here
and I was a part of it in some sort
of way that just wasn't needed to me. You either
show up, dap guys up, throw tile support, you know,
but in your uniform so you look the part.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Or five six days a game, yeah, or five six
days ago.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
Just let somebody else go, just like Trey Young got
in because Anthony Davis, Like, go put somebody else.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
In, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
You know this, dude, the idea when they handed you
when you made the basketball team in Ann Arbor, when
they handed you that jersey. It's special. Man.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
I'm still getting ready to get glassed as if I
was in NBA or something. But am I right? It's special.
It's a deal.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
I remember baseball teams I played on. When they give
you your jersey, your number, man, that's yours. And that's
what I'm saying, like like to to be like you
you've been around too long, like like maybe that this
is your side.

Speaker 7 (12:34):
You know what I mean, Like you've you've lost the
understanding of how magical this is to either put on
the uniform and play and just be a part of
the team, or to give it to someone else. You know,
what I mean to say, Hey man, this is going
to mean so much to you know, I'm trying to
think of a young guy in the Western Conference who
people will let you know the bonus, who didn't make
this or something like that.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Somebody, hey man, this is your.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
I can't play.

Speaker 5 (12:55):
I'm heard, but I didn't want to waste the roster spot.
Here's a magical moment for you. It could have been
a great story. I'm making it up, Austin Reeves or
whatever exactly. This is big for you and it just
didn't come out like that. And I think he's lose.
That's why I'm saying, sometimes you stick around too long,
will you take stuff for granted? And that's what it's

(13:15):
felt like to me. If you stay around, what's the
world add ist? You stay around be the hero too much,
you see yourself become the villain.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
And you know what I mean. He's been the face
of the league. He's been the statesman.

Speaker 7 (13:25):
He's been the governor, if you will, the one you
put in front of the cameras when there's big issues.
He's been that guy kind of leading the way. And
now like this was just this was just a miss
by him. Now it doesn't mean he's the worst guy
on This was just a myss where its all right, bron,
what are we doing? You ain't dressed, you ain't give
you didn't give up the spot to somebody else.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
But what are we doing?

Speaker 7 (13:44):
Knowing how important this was, Knowing everybody's watching ready to
hate on the game because all the gameplay how is bad,
it's been you know what, everybody's watching for that.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
And then and then one of the biggest stars ever,
he ain't hit. He shows like, I don't even care whatever,
I'm not like, I'm not playing, And that's a miss
for him. He usually understands the moment more like, not
just this is bigger than just me.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
This is a mail moment.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
He would have been he would have been better off
not coming at all. Right, I man, I'm propping it up.
I'm just I can't even come.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
I'm hurt.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
I'm not I don't want to waste the spot. I'm
not going to do that. I'm not in the mood
to take pictures of be involved in the other stuff.
And and that's what should have happened. Eight seven seven
ninety nine off Foxes our telephone number eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Let's just get to it.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
Did Lebron come off as selfish or uh like like
he doesn't care anymore or doesn't doesn't cherish the game,
not the not not playing because if he's injured, I
respect that, I'm that serious. But he had to know
that that was hurting way before, like right before a game,

(14:54):
before the game to say I can't play really like
like that's the part.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
And he could have right, Yeah, got dressed and sat there,
just been there. Boy, look the part. I'm here. I'm happy.

Speaker 7 (15:06):
This is honor that I'm still getting selected at fifty
five years old.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
All right? Eight seven seven ninety Wow, eight seven seven ninety.

We're broadcasting line from the tirerack dot Com studios. Tirerack

deals on mattresses? I feel like that was the only
thing you got on President Day. Would be like a

(16:28):
deal on furniture or something like that.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
No, definitely in cars, you know, they asked.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
I remember seeing a news story about some kids and
they asked the kids, they show pictures of presidents, Yeah,
Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, who guys like that? And guess
what the kids said? These are like kindergarten kids. They
said he sells cars on television. That's what they that's

(16:54):
the deals. That's what the kids say. And it's also
damning to our school. But that's why you know you're
taking those images anyway that we shouldn't be using them
to say that way?

Speaker 4 (17:05):
Right exactly? Yeah, all right?

Speaker 7 (17:06):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, lebron dishes the
All Star Game last second at the twenty fifth dollars,
Rob and I think that wasn't the way to handle
it and took the picture and all that. How do
you feel about that? Was it making it about him?
Do you not find it a big deal? Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox?

Speaker 4 (17:21):
So we got all right?

Speaker 5 (17:22):
Nick in Upstate New York, you're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Nick?

Speaker 10 (17:27):
Gentlemen, how you doing, Rob? You're one of my favorite
people on the radio. And I will I don't think
I'll go away from that. I don't thinking life I'll
go away from that.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Nick. You know, I appreciate that. Nick.

Speaker 10 (17:39):
I'm thirty eight, so I mean it could change, but
I say, here's the world the best.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
Well, I appreciate that. Nick. That's really nice to you.
Thank you Nick went to the USC too. No, he
didn't stop it.

Speaker 10 (17:51):
Getting in with Lebron. What do you say when you
go to break.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
What is it?

Speaker 10 (17:57):
What is Rob's like quote that Hell, he said.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Stick and stay America exactly.

Speaker 10 (18:05):
Lebron wants to stick and stay. If he didn't, if
he did that a week ago, it would be you know,
it would be different. Why would you do it an
hour before? He knows that there's no sports going on?
The All Star Game is meaningless, like it's just taking
place if there's no any Honestly, no one watches this.

(18:27):
I would never in the worst part is that David
uh is it Silver and Stern mix up? But he
can't say anything because he is Lebron is the faith
as of now, but he can't say anything. To do

(18:47):
it an hour before it is disrespectful to the fans,
the people that paid in advance.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
Yeah, no doubt, Nick, that's not care. Yeah, Mike, it's
just you knew. He knew, like there was a surprise.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
If you have a bad ankle, you know it, and
you know you're not gonna be able to play Mike
in Austin, Texas, You're in They couple of Fox Sports
Radio what's.

Speaker 11 (19:10):
Up, Mike, hear me?

Speaker 4 (19:13):
We got sir?

Speaker 8 (19:15):
Yeah, I man, I couldn't believe he did.

Speaker 12 (19:17):
He lose it.

Speaker 10 (19:17):
That was a selfish move.

Speaker 8 (19:19):
He could have did.

Speaker 10 (19:19):
Better than that.

Speaker 8 (19:20):
And here's one thing y'all missed.

Speaker 11 (19:22):
When they came out of the back.

Speaker 10 (19:23):
You know how they come down that walkway. Ye given
hot back to the fans.

Speaker 8 (19:26):
He had street rows on then.

Speaker 10 (19:30):
Back in the background hugging uh Kyrie like there was
a big deal.

Speaker 11 (19:36):
But yeah, he's protecting himself.

Speaker 10 (19:38):
He's got to be seen and.

Speaker 11 (19:40):
He's protecting his brand.

Speaker 8 (19:41):
He just went too forward.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
It, man, no doubt. Mike. Thanks for the yep, I
hear you. Appreciate you. How about he's just so huge
you didn't need like. That's the thing.

Speaker 7 (19:51):
It's not like I'm a young guy. I gotta take
advantage of this opportunity. Bro, you're literally the face of
the league for twenty years.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
Tim in the Inland Empire here in U Los Angeles,
join the Odd Couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 11 (20:03):
What's up with the new odd Couple with Calvin?

Speaker 4 (20:08):
What's up? What's that man? You're on the I E.

Speaker 11 (20:10):
That's right, man, Yeah, you missed me, man, because I
always called when we need to trash Lebron, so I
have to show.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
You go and I wanted the phone line. I'm not
mad at you.

Speaker 11 (20:20):
Now you know how it is, rob You know how
the first off, Lebron is the face of the league,
but he's tarnished this league. Did you see the crowd?
He was accent So was the crowd last night. I
mean they had to darken the crowd because there was MPC.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
Do you know what it was? There was?

Speaker 5 (20:35):
It was who brought who brought that up? One of
the players was that from the Celtics.

Speaker 10 (20:41):
Uh, it was awesome.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
J Brown? Jaylen Brown brought it up.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
He goes because they were talking about having the All
Star Game in Boston. He said, yeah, I think it'll
be a little more and will be crowded. What crowded
would we have?

Speaker 4 (20:53):
I missed that.

Speaker 11 (20:53):
Yes, that crowd was reflective of how bad this All
Star weekend was and it's and it shows it's a
resemblance of the face of the league, Lebron. He left
the league in a work place and he's trying to
hold onto a spot. But he needs to go because
this place, this.

Speaker 8 (21:09):
League needs to reboot and needs to rebrand.

Speaker 11 (21:11):
Because it's awful, awful product.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
Enjoy the show, guys, Thank you appreciated. Let's crazy and
real quick Leo in New York City.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
You're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio and Leo,
I dare you to defend lebron.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
On this.

Speaker 8 (21:25):
Facer today. I've been a very surprising day for me
because I found myself a gray with Rol Parker under
the ground topic and I don't know what to.

Speaker 10 (21:36):
Do with myself.

Speaker 8 (21:36):
So be with me here. Oh my god, but I
see that you guys are actually taking it way too
different than this. Lebron knew what he was doing. This
was just him making a statement because he probably has
some visues Adam Adam Silver over League. This was him,
you know, trying to, I don't know, make a statement, uh,

(21:59):
show a figure whatever it was. I don't know what
what the issue is, but it has to be something
different than that. Le Brun is too too knowledgeable and
too aware of, you know, everything happening for him to
just come and take a picture street Clow like that's
what he actually showed that to be off again yesterday

(22:19):
like an hour before the game. That's when the Brun
showed up this and right now this evening He posted
a picture video of him training with his daughter Zuri
after his think called is supposing your hurt? He knows
what he's doing. He knows what he's doing.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
It's a videg or whatever.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
Yes.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
I also thought that you know what, you and Lebron
can actually born on something and you know what that is?

Speaker 5 (22:46):
What's that on the Doug God exactly? Yes, we will
talk about Doug God again and Lebron and tweeting about
Doug Gottlie who finally won a Horizon League game.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
I think Steve de Sega will tell us. I think
they were Steve, what what fourteen? I lost? Fourteen in
a row?

Speaker 7 (23:06):
All right, yeah, all right, thank you for the cause.
We appreciate it. Hunter Patterson, Detroit Piston's reporter for the
Athletic Go and to join us here. We talk some
more hoops with him in just a bit. Right now,
you just heard him. Steve Saga was trendy.

Speaker 6 (23:16):
Ron waiting till an hour before the game last night.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Does that mean in his mind that he thought, better
chance Bronni gets in the game, Like it's just taking
around the car.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Here's a uniform, go in Brodny. What the other thing
to Steve.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
Have you ever seen a guy not take not get
dressed in the uniform to take the team picture, Not.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
Unless he's out for the season or something.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
Yeah, something dramatic, Not just oh yeah, I'm not playing today.
Wait what? Oh yeah? And I don't know. I didn't
bring my uni.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
I couldn't take three minutes to change clothes.

Speaker 7 (23:44):
It's forever in history. When they show the twenty twenty
five All Star.

Speaker 6 (23:47):
Game, he's gonna do is remind us of this.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Of the moment. It's just it's really odd. It is unnecessary.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
By the way, the NBA is off until Wednesday's makeup game,
Hornets at Lakers. As for men's college hoops, Auburn and
is ranked number one for a six straight week, Florida
up to number two, and number three. Duke plays in
Virginia tonight in about a half an hour. In women's
college basketball, the new number one is Notre Dame and
they're leading at home early fourth quarter fifty to thirty
five against number eleven.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Duke.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Hockey's four Nations face off in Boston tonight has the
US two and zero against Sweden, which has two overtime
losses each team in this mini tournament plays three games
in the round robin format, which ends tonight. We know
the Thursday night Championship game will have the US hosting Canada,
which advanced today with a five to three victory over Finland.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
And I saw the ratings they did really well with
this year.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
You know, we're talking about what the NBA needs to
do with the All Star Game. The ratings for US
Canada Hockey Saturday night were almost equal to what the
All Star Game got a couple of years.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Ago with the NBA, which is crazy.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
And the HL All Star Game last year had gotten
one point four million viewers Saturday with five four point four.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Four point four's big. That's a big number.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
Fo.

Speaker 7 (25:00):
So I just got to play the four countries? Is
that what they got to do? The NBA, well, the world.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
There is something to be said about people rooting for
the flag.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
Yeah, and then juice, we see it every four years.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
And we're gonna get the Winter Olympics in one year
and the NHL guys who're supposed to be back.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
In that when the Winter Games are in Italy.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Mike Trout of the Angels is switching to right field
to try and stay healthy after fourteen years in center field.
He'll also DH a little, and the Cincinnati Bengals reportedly
plan on placing the franchise tag on wide receiver T
Higgins again this year.

Speaker 7 (25:32):
Back to you, I've been fourteen years, Mike Cheule's been
yeah about like nine, sound about right?

Speaker 5 (25:38):
He was, he was the first few years, and nobody
was better in the right stats and the MVP and
all that.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
In the fourteen years. How many playoff games have the
Angels won?

Speaker 6 (25:48):
One on zero.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
Zero They've only been in the playoffs once with Mike Welty,
that is subs Christy.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Thanks all right, Seeve, thank you so much. We get
Scott Boris is coming up. Yeah, maybe we can ask
you that what's going on?

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Fami trued to pitch like twice every week.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Yes, because all these years, fourteen years, they never got
a pitching staff.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
Umblesounding it is.

Speaker 7 (26:08):
Yeah, that's all I gotta to watch. He was watching
Otani for those years. It should have been just seeing
what he can do like that.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (26:14):
See Hunter Patterson get ready to join us the Odd
Couple Comedy live from the Tireck dot Com Studios. Do
we have Hunter? We do have Hunter? All right, there
we go, Hunter Patterson Detroit Pistons a part of the
athletic and hunter Man.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (26:28):
We got we got some questions to ask before we
get to hoops. What's up buddy with Rob? And I
want to know some answers.

Speaker 12 (26:34):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (26:35):
I appreciate, Oh, for sure. We want to know who
did you know first? Me or right? Everybody? We trying
to claim you. The streets want to know. Trying to
claim you.

Speaker 7 (26:42):
I'm like and miss him just lieing still say me,
don't lie no long no.

Speaker 12 (26:48):
I think it's funny enough. I actually think I met Kelvin.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Oh I heard, No, I heard it's a funny story
because I remember he I was wearing earrings or something.

Speaker 12 (26:59):
He was like, is this your first time at NABJ
And I was like yeah. He's like, go ahead, take
those out of us, get right?

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Oh wow? Why yeah, take his ear I'm gonna tell
you why Rob.

Speaker 7 (27:09):
As you know, he didn't just have like one little
you know, a little small He had the big, huge
joint just bow bow both of them. And my whole
point was, I said, you can wear those all day,
all the rest of the day, but you know that
I said, after five to do that then, but you know,
during certain hours, man, he's gonna be sitting in front
of certain people.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
You know, trying to get my man right. But heyn
go ahead.

Speaker 12 (27:30):
Yeah, love with both of y'all though, for sure.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
No doubt we're proud of man for sure. Let's just
know he was at.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
The All Star Game and uh in San Francisco and Hunter, Uh,
let's go here first. Like the attendance being an issue
empty seats, What did you make of that? Even players
commenting that where was the crowd?

Speaker 12 (27:53):
Yeah, it seemed like a little bit before tip off,
he probably would have expected to see more people in cheat,
but there were pretty big gaps of people. And I
think probably where T and T was putting cameras possibly
made a team like there were more people there than
there actually were. So possibly because it's San Francisco. I'm

(28:14):
sure the tickets were through the roof to be in
Chase Center, so I'm not sure if it was a
price point thing or what exactly, but there weren't a
ton of people before tip off, and then as the
game got going, it started to fill up a bit more.

Speaker 7 (28:28):
So you're young, but Rob and I can tell you
the All Star Game from the you know, nineties of especially,
you know that I was a little before me, but
like the two thousands, that was literally a destination. You know,
the All Stars in Atlanta, it's in Miami, it's in Vegas,
and people will go and it would be the absolute thing.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
The buzz. It was crazy.

Speaker 7 (28:48):
Did you feel that at all, not even just from
the you know, the who was literally intention but just
the environment that weekend? It feel the buzz or was
it just not like someone like me would have described
to you in years past.

Speaker 8 (28:59):
Now, I think I.

Speaker 12 (29:00):
Definitely felt the buzz around San Francisco. There was a
ton of traffic everywhere. There seemed to just be a
bunch of people out in their favorite players jerseys. There
were obviously a ton of parties all throughout Oakland and
San Francisco and things. So I felt like there was
a good representation and vibe. I guess around All Star
week games too.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Okay, what about the We were just talking about lebron
A bowing out so close to game time, which was surprising,
like he probably.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
Wanted to know.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
And then probably the worst thing is that even because
I'm never gonna question whether somebody can play or not,
I'm not a doctor.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
I don't know what they feel like. But not taking
taking the team picture of the street close? Did that?
I mean, did that seem strange?

Speaker 8 (29:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (29:50):
Funny enough. I'm like, I mentioned I cover the Piston,
so I'm focused on Cade and I'm writing beforehand. So
I didn't even realize Lebron wasn't gonna play until he
walked out in street close. And I'm a huge Lebron sayan,
so I'm I'm like, da him, like or excuse me?
I'm like, I couldn't. We're not going to get to
see Lebron. So he take He does take the photo

(30:13):
in street clothes, and I saw some some stuff on
Twitter today that people pulled up photos if I think
it was Yao ming he did it in street clothes
one year. There was one with like Brandon Roy and
I think Kobe as well one year. So I'm not
sure if people are piling on Lebron just because it's
Lebron or if people really did feel that way. But

(30:33):
for me, aesthetically, it did mess it up, but I
didn't make I didn't think too much of it.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
I think it's just a timing. What do I say?

Speaker 7 (30:41):
He had the not it's the fact that he didn't
right before the game.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
That's where it just it just seemed like it was
pretty late yet party that's all. Hey, here's Hunter Patterson,
Detroit Pistons reporter for the Athletic Hunter Patterson on Twitter.

Speaker 7 (30:54):
You just mentioned covering the Pistons. I believe Kay Cunningham
is a year or two away from being a top five,
six seven player in this league.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
He's that good, And if his team.

Speaker 7 (31:02):
Had maybe eight more wins, I might say right now
what it covering head man?

Speaker 4 (31:07):
He is special. He looks like one of those ones
to me.

Speaker 12 (31:10):
Yeah, he's obviously. I think everything you said is is
pretty valid. I would say he's most nights i've been
covering them so far, he's usually been the best player
on the floor, and that went as far as even
when they played KD and he hit some big shots
over him to close them out in Phoenix. Lebron gave

(31:30):
him credit when they won in Crypto. Is still crazy
that that's not Stables anymore but Crypto Arena. So I
think he's he's really talented on the floor, and for
him to be, he's listed at six to six, but
I think he's probably closer to six seven sixty eight,
and for him to be a point guard, he's really gifted.
He moves at his own pace, he can't speed him up,

(31:52):
and just on a like as a person, he's really cool.
For me to only be there a few months and
for him to make himself available for interviews and postgame
questions in the locker room and things, just really refreshing
to see somebody who's so young, with so much access

(32:12):
and resources and stuff, to still be that down to earth.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
It's a great point.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
Last thing, so this Piston team playoff team?

Speaker 4 (32:20):
Where are they? I mean, do you think they'll make it?

Speaker 8 (32:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (32:25):
As it stands, I believe there are six and some
of the teams below them I think are pretty banged
up with injuries. I know the seventy six ers obviously
with Embiid and Paul George. If they can get healthy
at any point in MAXI, of course, that could potentially
be a team that sneaks up. But I think the
Pistons are pretty much healthy outside of Jay and IV,

(32:48):
who they're still kind of trying to give updates on,
and I think they're mentioningly well. JD is making sure
that even if they win certain games, if they're not
winning how he wants them to. He's still on them
about that, so he's never really satisfied. So I think
this team is gonna be in the postseason picture for sure.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
Yeah, man, there is bad down years for sure.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
Could you imagine here he is Haunter Patterson on Fox
Sports Radio talking about the Pistons when he was one
of my standags at USC.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
I love it right after he knew me first. Whatever
you know what you hurt me? Haunter? You heard me?

Speaker 12 (33:22):
I saw you too, Rob, Yeah, yeah, I remember meeting you.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
Yeah, that's that old handle. It used to be all
cold pizza right. Hey, you couldn't see me because your
ear rings were so big.

Speaker 12 (33:35):
I remember, Rob, you had some nice jamber.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
Always. Yeah. We both actually all right, hunter man, what's
your the best? Good stuff? Brother? Tu, good work?

Speaker 8 (33:45):
Thank you?

Speaker 7 (33:46):
Sheckle City on the way plus John mort teasing at something,
tell you what it is?

Speaker 4 (33:51):
I couple Kelvin Rob Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (34:07):
Fox Sports Radio and some couple turned down their ear rings.
It does not constitute bonding meetings somehow.

Speaker 4 (34:15):
No, it was a great story though it was.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
It was not just because if I told you to
take your hat off, that's like not because.

Speaker 7 (34:24):
That would be crazy if you walk by take your
hat off, young man kept walking. No, we chopped it
up and I told him, I said, look, man, it's
not that you can't. I'm not telling you have to,
but I'm telling you got to play the game. Sometimes
you got to do something that you gotta do. Let
me take these earrings off real quick, meet some of
these higher ups. Then I'll put it on later where
tonight you know, how we go party and how we
have a good time.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
That was the thing and he loved that. Dont me
hate me, you don't mind line.

Speaker 7 (34:48):
That's gonna that's gonna be our new segment which men
teat it. Robert Kelly who knew first. Wow, all right,
speaking of it is Rob Kevin, I couple on the
Magic City Monday, coming to you live from the tire
rack dot Com Studios. Tirerack dot Com is gonna help
you get there and on match selection, fast free shipping,
Free road has a protection and over ten thousand recommending

(35:10):
So we even so it's not a you know, now,
how you have any you want to do any any
college women's basketball games.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
We got the Taco Show with Shekel City. Hit me
with it.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Welcome to Shekel City, the home base for Rob Parker's
day Dicks against the Scrap.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
And as you know, there are no games. Yeah, so
we're gonna get the rest. But I think the first
NBA game, Steve said, is Wednesday. You don't want to
do the Tiger would thingy live or whatever? That that
is what is happening? Where are you? Are you in
the Tiger?

Speaker 5 (35:48):
Meet me in a parking lot of Denny's. Now what
was the name of that Hurkinsurkin? It was percolating? All right,
meet me at the in the parking lot. Yeah, personal,
Thank you tiger. Yeah, all the Tiger drops, you got
them all, but we will.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
We'll get back to get Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
It's so good today.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
Yeah man, that he may have done. All right, we'll
get back to that. So what you yeah, so did
you see that?

Speaker 7 (36:14):
Uh so the first of all they just start what'd
you think of the dunk content let's just start there.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
I'm done.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
I'm tired of seeing they got was mcclu clung from
the G League every year coming up just to do that?

Speaker 4 (36:28):
Enough already? Can we stop? Yep?

Speaker 5 (36:30):
I love, I'm still watching Perry Mason, but I don't
want to see McClung.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
How's that?

Speaker 7 (36:35):
So here's I think we're all mclunked out. But first off,
congrats to him, because hey, y'all, you know he's a
G leaguer. They say showed he's made more in his
three Dunk Contest winnings than he's made in his entire
NBA career thus far.

Speaker 4 (36:48):
But really, like, what is that? Three years?

Speaker 7 (36:50):
That's three years and first time ever, and it's like terrible.
It's great for him, but it's that for us that
he's the winner of three times.

Speaker 5 (36:56):
They don't they don't want Lamar Jackson to win in
three MVP. We're at the voter fatigue now, Rob, there
you go. That's what I'm saying. So you should have
gave him fives just for that. Get out of here.

Speaker 7 (37:09):
So here's what's interesting, and this is why I call
fake to this. John Moran tweets out Mac might make
me decide to dunk. Remember in the beginning of the year,
the season Josh said he don't want dunk anymore. He's
done a couple of spectacular dunks because he's amazing. We
all want to see him the duncout test. I've called
him out, Anthony Edwards, Jahn Moran. If Zach Levine want

(37:31):
to get back, then Zach, he tweets out Zack and
ag what's up? As in Aaron Gordon. Zach tweeted, thinking
I might have to again. Yanni jumps in. If you
do it, I'll do it with you. So here's my
thing about this. Don't start none, won't be none, meaning

(37:52):
don't shoe all this, say all this, because they've done
this before Rob Parker. The same thing happened the first
year of MAC where guys jump Matt killing him.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
I might have to get out there.

Speaker 7 (38:02):
I might have to do that, and then they don't
because it's fun in the moment. Even Lebron's hinted at
all Man and never remember what Lebron went.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
On that run. Ian you remember this too well.

Speaker 7 (38:12):
Lebron went on this run pre games, doing stuff he's
never done before, literally throwing it off the scoreboard. Wind
Meal crazy stuff. It was like he was trolling us.
This is what I would do in a dunk contest.
No no, no, no, no, no, I'm not gonna do it.
So to me, John, don't do this now because you
have three hundred and sixty five days until the next
dunk contest. So don't do it now and then back out. Hey,

(38:35):
Zach Levine, don't now. Zach has done it so clearly.
I believe him because he's done it before. But Jannis,
who like, don't tease us up. Guys, this is what
we want. We want to see the best of the best.
We want to see some guys we know. We know
we're not gonna know every single one. There's always a
young upstart every year, Brian a young upstart. And you know,
we said Jason Richardson, that happens all the time.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
We know that.

Speaker 7 (38:55):
But we need two of the guys to be household days.
We need a job Zion and Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
That's the only way you're gonna get people to be excited.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
And you gotta have We see this in baseball with
the home run derby.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
You got. There's always something want or two. But the
rest of you know that, you know, and they got
to be the sluggers.

Speaker 5 (39:14):
I was in Miami when Aaron Judge was down by
seventeen home runs going into the last round and he
went crazy. But look like like, I'll never forget that
moment in Miami. But he's one of those guys.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
Need you.

Speaker 7 (39:29):
Need Soto, you need the Judge, you need all the
sluggers that you know, you need a big pop.

Speaker 5 (39:35):
We don't want to say in the minor leagues who
are coming up just to be in a home run derby, Now,
people would not buy that.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Imagine all of them.

Speaker 7 (39:43):
It'd be different if it was like we had one
we brought up because he was he was slugging at Hey,
you guys aren't gonna believe this's Mike triut Kid or
something like that.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (39:50):
All Right, we'll bring one up for just to do
some little novelty thing. Imagine if everybody in the home
run derby was somebody you didn't know. No terrible, because
that's how bad it was. We're gonna talk about the
All Star Weekend format. Whether it was Bologna for Lake
he loved.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
I think it was full a for you. No, I
think it was Emerald's three hundred and seventy five dollars
for la. Is that what it was? Yeah? And guess
what we didn't eat that three seventy fift We shouldn't.
They told us the Fay the better foods on the
other side, and.

Speaker 7 (40:15):
They weren't lying. Was it bologna for Lake? We'll discuss
odd couple. Fox Sports Radio
