collectible market.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Plus trash Talking Tuesday to wrap up the hour. But
first let's go here. And we all know the US
won the Olympic goal in basketball. Steph Curry had some
shots in that game, right that people, and you remember
he did the going to sleep thing and it's like
that was the big you know and all that. I
(01:50):
didn't see his thumb in his mouth, but he still
did you know this or whatever? But so much so
that you know now that you're gonna make documentary thirty
for thirty kind of thing. I'm not saying it's that,
but I give us the details of producer and for
Rob g Ian.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yeah. So on Netflix apparently on Netflix is he here
we go?
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Then couple of Netflix at Fox Sports Radio and why
but yeah, on Netflix there's a new documentary called Court
of Gold and it's it features the team USA, the
Olympic team from this past summer winning gold in the Olympics.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
And if you guys recall Steph Curry, like you guys said,
he hit a bunch of shots in that game, including
the most famous one which kind of put put away
France to to ice the game. And then that's where
he did the night Night celebration. And Nicholas Patum, who
was on Team France, who they faced, he he's quoted
in that documentary saying, quote ninety nine point of the
(02:54):
players in the world, a lot of nines would have
missed that shot. Only one guy would have made it.
Please him, please, So what do you guys think?
Speaker 2 (03:01):
You know, here's my issue.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
What's that Kelvin is they're making this famous shot famous
and it wasn't even famous. Okay, first, the US was
up by six points, and I want you to go
to the NBA definition of a clutch shot. The NBA
(03:30):
definition not This is not rob apedia. This is not
me coming up with my own thing to fit a
narrative or anything. I'm talking about the National Basketball Association.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
All right. So, according to hoops Hype here, what is clutch.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
The NBA defines clutch as quote shots made when the
game is within five points in the last five minutes.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
That wasn't a clutch shot, and people tho, no, no,
there's a difference between clutch shots. And this is what
I've been talking about. You know this about Steph Curry. Dude,
I'm not knocking him. He made the shots, they won
the goal, whatever. But now you're gonna make a moment
out of a shot that wasn't, even by NBA standards,
(04:16):
considered clutch. They're up by six, he put them up
by nine. That's not a big shot.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
I know it was good.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Okay, he did it, and then he did the night
night and everybody that was the moment, and they took
the picture and all that. But don't you this is
like the Ten Commandments. Everybody in No, this is like
the Ten Commandments. Everybody in Egypt is white. Like it's
like the story, Like, I just what is this? You're
(04:43):
making up stuff that you go along. I mean, people
have liberties in filmmaker, I get it. They have no
melan back in the day.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
No, I'm just saying, you a Brenner, come on, really,
I'm just running around.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Genus run around here looking like thor and said skinner
bronze hair bore.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
But boy, let me tell you blue eyes, hair you get.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
My point is that is that it's one thing if
you have a moment. There are moments in sports, Okay,
seriously where something happened. Joe Carter hit m a walk
off home run in the World Series, Like you know,
that's a moment. Kirk Gibson, Yeah, Kirk Gibson comes up,
he has two I told you the Latin players for
the Tigers where Kirk Gibson was there, had a nickname
(05:32):
for him that I was two hit.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
That was his nickname to it because he had two
home runs and two big World Series games.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
And they were like like you ever of those, like
they'd be like be quiet.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Two hit that was the nickname, which is a classic hit.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
He had the one off of Goose Gossips in eighty four, right,
and then the one for the Dodgers off tennis. Because
he said, two classic home runs in.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
The World Suit.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
You know what that reminds me of shot to my boy,
you know, to Desmond Howard, Like he didn't have to
greatest NFL career, but he won the Heisman and he
won a Super Bowl MVP. So it's kind of hey, hey,
I'm done done. Hey what you're gonna say? You know,
I got these two big things, all right. This is
I'm glad you brought up the definition of clutch because
where it gets challenging is you sound like a hater
(06:18):
when you have to spit fact sometimes. And Steph Curry
is the greatest shooter I've ever seen, as far as range,
as far as the kind of shots, the off the dribble,
from half court, he makes things like the an All
Star Game. He makes a half court shot look normal, right,
He is just amazing at that. But the one area
where I don't think he is the greatest of the
best is a specific type of shot. And that is
(06:41):
what you're saying, Ay, I need this shot to win
the game shot. There are several people I would take
historically over him, and there are still several people in
the NBA that I would take over him. And I'll
explain why he is the greatest dagger maker that we've seen.
Steph Curry makes shots. Ian, let me break it down
for you. Your team. Let's say the Warriors are up fifteen.
(07:04):
Your team makes a run, right, the Lakers are making
a run on the Warriors. Crowd's going crazy. You got
the lead all the way chopped down to five points,
with a minute twenty, crowd's going crazier. Back in his thing,
Steph Curry will go Ya got two threes that quick.
The leads back up to eleven games over. He is
a dagger. He is maybe you can say even the
(07:25):
most when it comes to floorries right like he did
in the limit.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
But that's that's why I.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Have a hard time considered him the greatest shooter of
all time, because if you are When I talk to
NBA players and I asked him, who would you want
to make a basket with the game on the line,
nobody picks Stephan.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
And that's because you can't make He's not a three
seconds left rob like make a play one dribble shoot,
He's not a two guys are on me, fadeaway shoot
like a Kobe. That's not his game. He asked to
dribble dribble drible. O kay, they didn't work. Pitch it
to the big man. Pitch back to me, dribble, dribble, dribble.
I'll get you off battle and get the shot off.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
But let me get his stat For Curry people, this
is not This is facts. What is z not not
anything at ase? Facts even okay, big facts Steph Curry
is oer for fourteen on shots to take the lead
in the final fifty seconds of playoff games in his career.
(08:19):
He's never made one. I mean, that's a damning stat
it really is. And it doesn't take away from what
he's done in accompass and all that. But when you
talk about somebody being the greatest, like seriously, like by accident, happenstance,
you knock down two or three, right.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Do you are in your favor if you shoot that well, that.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
You shoot fourteen shots and you're that great of a shooter.
I'm gonna knock down two or three walk off, and
everybody's gonna be pouring champagne on me for him.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
To be the greatest shooter. You can't pinpoint a shot
that won the game.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
And that's why this Olympic thing is so strange to me.
I understand, you want to do a documentary on Olympic
goal and I'm not.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
A get that's sixth The focus yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
Okay, but the focus on that shot as if it
was the US was down by two with three seconds
ago and Steph Curry knocked down up logo three or
whatever you want to call it to win to win
the game. Now we're talking about. Those are the things
that legends are made out of. Those are the things
that movies are made out of. Not up by six
(09:24):
and you knocked down a three.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
It is very weird.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
From universally, most people say he's the best shooter ever
Sece included, He's the best shooter I've ever seen. Rob
But if you're asking me for a specific shot, give
me Reggie Miller. You're saying, three seconds left, game on
the line. Give me Michael Jordan, give me Kobe. Give
me guys. Because Dame Lillard his his contemporary Gamel Dame.
(09:47):
You can name multiple game winners in the playoffs. Dame
Lillard his why his knee yet? Ian tapping his watch
like me is Dame time. That's what Dame Lillard does.
Give me Ray out. Ray Allen has won many games.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Hey Allen?
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Robert or that shot that Ray Allen made as a
legacy saying, right, Bron's career, save Lebron's legacy. You got
anybody down, he said, career? Okay, hold on now, but
it was a game changer for without a doubt, Robert
or how many he has it? If he doesn't do
the tap shock tap it out to him. He knocked
that might change the three people with the Lakers hot
(10:23):
with the pistons. He made the shot. I remember that
was the game following that, that game first, Oh, ironically enough,
sitting next to Desmond Howard and I go, I'm on
the phone. Other boy guard, big shot, Bob God, big
shot bu pass it in back to the me, back
to big shot back, I'm like, come a lot of
the people. And when she got caught, he got caught.
(10:46):
The team in the corner, don't get the start. People asked,
what is the two you know, biggest games you ever busined?
I was one that was one and had a chance
to win it. Rip Penelton missed a floater at the end, yep,
Robert Owy went crazy and overtime. You know, I work
with him as spectrum, So once a year I'll go
to mons. I can't stand you here. Just start laughing
at me. Every but once a year, but you get
my point. Clutch step shot is not you can't name
(11:08):
You can name daggers Ian, you can name Flury.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
No, you were I and your stuff guy, right, Yeah, No,
I'm from the base.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
I'm a Warriors fan, but it's Honestly.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
He's not from the Bay. You were born in New
York and he lived in the Bay.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (11:22):
I moved to the Bad when I was eleven, some
Warriors fan. That's when I got into basket Okay. But yeah,
but it's fair? Are we always not fair? Because you're
bringing facts and stats that go with it, like, oh,
for fourteen, if he's had fourteen opportunities to prove you wrong,
I'm five.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Right exactly.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Nobody's saying he has to be like thirteen fourteen. You
remember that, like that classic shot that was a step shot.
I remember it like you remember certain.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Shot named like five Lebron ones. Yeah, definitely. And so
that's the crazy thing about Curry. He is Curry.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Curry is Flurri's three threes? What And you're like, okay,
the game's over now with two minutes left, that's what
he does. Or his team was down and it not
only down six, and then he hit three threes they
win by three. And he doesn't just get game winners.
That's just not his game. He can't get you off
of him. He's not big enough, he's not strong enough.
He doesn't create a single shot quickly, like you know
(12:18):
what I mean, and I want to say one other thing.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
When you talk about certain shots when the score is
tied and the time is running out, that's not a
pressure pack shot, like when you're down right, could you
know right you're gonna shoot it? Kelvin, you know regardless
we're going over time, there's no pressure on you.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
We're not losing this game. Oh we gotta walk O.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
I'm gonna be the one they playing, so I can
put up a good look with the score tied and
not really worry about it. When you make that basketball,
you're down and it's you know, win or lose and
go home after that, that's the pressure shot.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Yeah, and it's that's why I said for him to
have made every type of three one, one arm three
everything everything, three half core, three quarters to du wipsy
do all the underhand.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
But it's just one of those things.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
He's just for some reason, five seconds, ten seconds left,
he's just not that guy to make that basket like
Kobe did, like Jordan did, like Birt Larry Bird by
the way, gets we gets disrespected in an ice cameras.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Do you know how many game winners he used to make.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
I've covered him.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
It's ridiculous, just one leggy leaning out about telep.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Hey, I'm gonna go to this corner. What I'm gonna
do it? And I'm gonna win around on the block. Dude,
he did everything. He just said.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Have Byron Scott on one day, tell you all the times. Hey, man, Byron,
that's what I'm gonna do. We drawing up a play.
I'm gonna come around the corner. I'm a curl and
then I'm gonna come around the two screens and I'm
gonna be in that corner right there and that one
we had that one, and I'm gonna shoot the three
and y'all can't stop me. And he said, Byron Scott,
be like man, please, like man what we're about to
he would.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Get the shot. If I had to tell them stories.
Oh I believe Mary the best? Like man?
Speaker 1 (13:48):
How did he just tell us what he did? It
still made it. That's the craziest thing about Steph being
the greatest shooter. You can't pinpoint the singular shot. You
can think of the flurries and the daggers, but not
like a shot to win it.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Two things. Is
Steph Curry clutch? Do you look at that, oh for
fourteen stat and uh scoff at it? Or is that
telling and you know, centering a show on Netflix or
an episode around that shot That wasn't even clutch. Like
(14:22):
That's the weird part is it looked good with the
night night and all that. It was the flurry, but
it was not a clutch shot.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
The flur. It was fun to watch the flurry. He was.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I was we were in uh Chicago, in ABJ. I
was hiring my clothes, not that, y'all, here you go.
I was getting old. Oh, I was hiring my clothes,
getting ready watching him do that.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. It is the
Odd Couple on the Trash Talking Tuesday, and yes we're
trash and Steph Curry did I say that?

Speaker 1 (15:22):
But it isn't billy idle vibes a little bit. Oh oh,
they're act like you don't know what a face. She's
got a few of that. I can only name two
or three. This is one of the three. It's the
odd couple.

Steph Curry Right.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Now, I'm just saying, I mean, are we talking? Facts
were great? That's what they always said. Is that's why
I was here. I'm day two crazy.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
I am day in that in this in this category,
I always hear about Rob he just hates greatness.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah, what what does that mean? I don't know either.
Alex you better hope you don't. You know he hates you.
I know you hate Alexander the Great? He said, I
hope he hates me. Do you hate Calvin all day?
Speaker 6 (16:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Is great? All right? No break it down? Talk about
Steph Curry.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
Uh this netflix about the Olympics, a field court of
gold or whatever that it kde goes emotional thing. By
the way, this shot just about Steph Curry. Were up
by six by NBA definition. That's not a clutch shot.
But what do you make of that? And he's over
for fourteen in those big moments in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
It's crazy.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Is he clutch or not? Do you look at him
as clutch? Dwayne in Miami? You're in the kaway in Miami.
I know what's the way called? Hey, hey, how are you?
Speaker 7 (17:01):
Man?
Speaker 2 (17:01):
What's up?
Speaker 7 (17:03):
I'm not the biggest Curry fan, but I do remember
one shot. It was the year that there was going
seventy three and nine. They played OKC that tied the game,
and that time that shot that he made from half court,
it was one he had one foot over half court.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
No crazy shot.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Yeah, but he's never made he never made a shot. Yeah,
that shot you would know you're the worst. That shot
tied the game, right.
Speaker 6 (17:31):
No, that shot won the game.
Speaker 8 (17:33):
That was just after that.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
I think it did tie it. No, yeah, I thought
that tied it. It was a huge shot.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
That's his that's just, in my opinion, the biggest shot
of his career. I mean, they were down three to
one in that series. They were making a comeback, so
absolutely it was a huge shot. I didn't like singular
parameters of this. It's just to take the lead with
fifty seconds or less. That that's what that status.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
I just want to make sure everybody understands I don't
know how much time was left or what the situation was,
and it didn't take the lead. That status pretty accurate.
You get on ESPN and you get a chance that
Jabari in Michigan, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
What's y'all?
Speaker 9 (18:13):
Yeah, yeah, I'm doing good, doing good. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (18:17):
The whole thing about Steph Curry, I mean yeah, I
mean I want to call myself a Steff apologist, not
because I'm I'm not really a Warriors fan or anything,
but but you know, but Steph in the clutch is
always interesting because when people say Steph Curry, the clutch.
I mean, we see him hit clutch shots like to
tie the game and send the overtime like you did
it before.
Speaker 8 (18:36):
But it's but we.
Speaker 9 (18:37):
Can't think of those moments where he hit the game
win a shot.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
And that's a big thing you just said at Jabari
because as a Steph guy, you're like, I really can't
give you one, right.
Speaker 9 (18:48):
Right right, because I can. I can name a few
times where he tied the game that sits until overtime,
but not so much this game winning. Like like for me,
I believe that Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of
all time, but if you tell me who's the greatest
clutch shooter of all times, it's not him.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
But doesn't that hurt him when you say the greatest shooter?
How could the greatest shooter of all time not make
clutch shots? Is my argument on why it's hard to
call him the greatest shooting. Only I'm not saying that
he has to be clutched all the time, but he
has no signature shots none.
Speaker 9 (19:23):
I mean, I think I understand people's perspective, I understand
how people look at it, but I think that you know,
if someone's being the greatest of something compared to someone
being clutched at somebody. I mean I think that there
could be a difference at some aspect.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Yes, but Jabari, here's here, it is right here. Okay,
you need a basket to win the game. Are you
giving it to Steph or somebody else?
Speaker 9 (19:48):
I mean, we talked about the Warriors, are we talking
about no, about anybody.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Saying all the time, you gotta get you Bird, Jordan, anybody, Ray, Allen,
Regi'll give you what you like.
Speaker 7 (19:59):
I said before.
Speaker 9 (19:59):
I'm oh, it's gonna choose by Allen.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
Okay, And that's my point. That's what hurts his argument
for gready shooter. How don't you get the ball to
the greatest shooter?
Speaker 1 (20:08):
But only my argument to that rock tom Brady's the
greatest quarterback. Tom Brady ain't running nowhere if I did
a third and two and I need you to run
and get meaning there's other aspects to it. So he
ain't what the greatest shooter. He's just not the guy
I want with ten seconds on the.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Clock to shoot it. Yeah, but I did, But I
can give it it is. I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
It's a very strange Oxymorn greatest shooter I don't want
you to take the last take you lesson.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
I ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
That's what I will not light. It's strange, but give
me Reggie Miller for my number one. All right, shortch
in Sacramento. You're in the couple of Fox Sportuado.
Speaker 10 (20:39):
What's up, schean, Yeah, my algo from another brother cousin.
Speaker 7 (20:44):
Kill me my brother's by the boys. You ain't about
to cook me on here. Rob, you ain't gonna do
me like you do the game and have bonte but
shaking in their boots every time you make an appearance
in the Bay, Rob Parker kelvin Washington, y'all ain't gonna
do the light scheme. Fee the Yellow Bone bandit with
me on the phone. Man, Look, he did this for
America arrived. I don't know how y'all are here talking
(21:06):
about we got rid of the Dubai song and come
in here displacing my man, my man Curry. When he
did it for America, not only did he save them
from a Lebron's James ending, from a Carmelo Apology ending,
and saved us from having a bronze statue in front
of them for this year, but he did it in style.
Three after three after three after three had with twom
(21:28):
inside the French locker room cutting his men's out in French.
No pun intended for y'all to come in here and
try to dispairit my mass step for not only killing
it with the gold medal, but having four rings.
Speaker 8 (21:41):
Who needs to be clutched when you a killer?
Speaker 7 (21:43):
That's all I gotta say. Man, y'all need to do
it right for the Red, White, and Blue.
Speaker 9 (21:47):
Next time.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
Brothers.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Wow, hey, Sean, you're supposed to call yesterday with all
that patriotics. That was President's Day yesterday. I was calling
twenty men ten minutes. Yeah, are you going to say
that that was a trash talking tuesdays? Appreciate it night. Well, yeah,
we can get to more now, by the way, trash
talking twos. As you mentioned this line up, you can
start lining up for that. Eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. I
(22:10):
want to hear what you guys have to say. We
got Chris Ivy coming up on the other side of
what's trending right now?
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Steve Saga, what's up? Hello, gentlemen. We've got the NBA off.
Speaker 11 (22:18):
Remember until the Wednesday makeup game Hornets at Lakers Charlotte
center Mark Williams due to play after his trade to
the Lakers recently was rescinded. The Lakers had multiple concerns
after Williams physicals, so he failed it. Most teams returned
to play on Thursday night, And if you didn't catch
this over all Star weekend, Kyrie Irving and the MAVs
said he wants to play for Australia in the twenty
twenty eight Olympics when they're in Los Angeles. He was
(22:40):
born in Melbourne, but has won gold in the past
with the US. The seventy six ers reportedly signed Lonnie Walker,
who'd been playing in Europe. By the way, Hockey's Four
Nations face off concludes Thursday in Boston, with the final
being Canada versus the US. In college basketball, right now,
about twelve minutes left, Number two Florida is blitzing Oklahoma
sixty two thirty five Top twenty five matchup at Mississippi State,
(23:03):
as the Bulldogs ahead of Texas A and m forty
four to forty about nine minutes left, under nine minutes
to go in a Top twenty matchup at Michigan State
Spartan's ahead of Purdue fifty eight to fifty. Coming up
Friday night on Fox TV, Number twelve Michigan will host
number fourteen Michigan State. There are plenty other games tonight,
including about to start on FS one. It's number eleven
(23:24):
Wisconsin hosting Illinois. That'll be after the Yukon game. Connecticut
has taken a lead with a minute to go, sixty
two to fifty eight over Villanova. The Blue Jays failed
to sign all star Vladimir Guerrero Junior to an extension.
The first baseman's deadline was last night. He said Toronto
did not offer a deal close to what he wanted.
Guerrero last season had thirty homers and one hundred and
(23:44):
three RBIs. He turns twenty six next month. The Cubs
agreed to sign veteran infielder Justin Turner one year, six
million dollars plus incentives. He's forty. Turner played last year
with Toronto and Seattle. The Red Sox invited veteran reliever
Adam Ottovino to spring train. He's thirty nine, and new
Boston infielder Alex Bregman says he's willing to move from
third base to second base, if that's what his new
(24:07):
manager wants. Rafael Devers has said this week he does
not want to move away from third. But Bregman just
won the Ale Gold Glove there last season with Houston.
Speaker 4 (24:16):
Shouldn't that have been discussed already? Absolutely less ridiculous that
the writers go to the player and say, are you
moving for Bregman?
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Like, like, come on, what are they doing in Boston?
That shouldn't happen.
Speaker 11 (24:28):
That's a huge l for the front up right, Absolutely.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
I'm shocked that that that just should never get to this.
It should never be a discussion.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Absolutely right.
Speaker 11 (24:38):
Finally, the NFL, Carolina resigns quarterback Andy Dalton and Texans
running back Joe Mixon had his appeal of a playoff
fine and he won it, so it's been rescinded.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
It was to somebody else. Somebody else had said it right.
Speaker 11 (24:51):
As I misquoted, and they attributed the quote of you know,
you got to play the rest when you play the
Chiefs or something like that, and it wasn't Joe Mix
and then he complained on top of that, right, and
they got in trouble for that. Like, dude, I didn't
say anything in the first.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
And then finally they were like, Okay, we got it wrong.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Yeah, just beat me to it. Just a minute, we
move on.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
You don't make a big deal of it, all right, Steve,
thank you so much, coming to you live from the
tie rack dot com studios.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
He's get ready to have.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Someone join us here hopefully in just a little bit
have a conversation about some cool things that are out
there in the auction world.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Uh so looking forward to that.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Yeah, and some of them and Steve, Steve, you know
how the auction house works with some of these things
that are being sold nowadays.
Speaker 11 (25:40):
Like a Babe Ruth Jersey and that type of like.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
The money is outrageous. That's why I wanted to get
this guy on.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Cause you get because you you start thing for instance,
you know, I'm.
Speaker 11 (25:47):
Mike Harmon, who's up next, knows a lot about this stuff.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
For years, right, didn't you own a card store something more?
Speaker 11 (25:54):
Did stuff like you still go street card staffs?
Speaker 2 (25:56):
What do you have to Steve? Do you have anything
that you would say, you know, like.
Speaker 11 (25:59):
New Jersey, but like just my own cards from when
I was a kid. I still still have absolutely.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
I think the biggest thing as we have Chris Ivy
from Heritage Auction Sports Collectibles joining us here.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yeah, what's up, Chris, You're good.
Speaker 8 (26:14):
I'm all good.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Yeah, Chris.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
I was just getting ready to tell Steven rob that
I believe the biggest thing that I have I have
a Kobe Bryant signed basketball with the letter of authentication.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
All right, it's worth what's that? I was gonna say,
what's that? What's that worth? What's you think? I don't know.
Speaker 8 (26:29):
It's worth at least two thousand right now?
Speaker 2 (26:32):
Ah right, all right too. I was thinking a little
bit more.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
Yeah, he might have to, you know, when the time
comes to send your baby daughter in college.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
No, it probably be more like me trying to keep
up with my Netflix subscription. Goodness, that's right.
Speaker 4 (26:43):
But Chris, tell us you got a big event coming
up on what is that February twenty second and twenty
third and some incredible items. Tell us about some of
the items that'll be up for auction and the details
because it's fascinating.
Speaker 8 (27:00):
Yeah, thank you. Yeah, this is this is all material.
It's it's part of our Winter Platinum Night Sports auction.
And the cool thing about Platinum Night is it's the
best of thet the sporting world has to offer. So,
I mean, this is it's chock full of six and
seven five, six and seven figure items sports collectible, the
best of the best. So we've got you know, we've
(27:22):
got Mickey Mantle jerseys in this auction, Roger Maris uniform,
it's incredible. We've got a Babe Ruth rookie card that's
gonna sell for a couple of million dollars. And then
Patrick Mahomes game warn photo match jersey and to Tom
Brady and and Joe Burrow. So it's a little bit
sports from you know, different sports and different different decades
(27:44):
and eras and a little bit of something for everybody.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
So way a minute, the Babeooth called two million? Is
that what you said?
Speaker 8 (27:50):
M Absolutely, So this is It's a nineteen sixteen Babe
Ruth Sporting News rookie card and it is great at
near mint seven and it's one of only three examples
remaining that are in that grade, and there's only a
couple grated higher. So if you want to see it
(28:11):
at the table for one of the best Baby Ruth
rookie cards in the world, it's gonna cost a couple
million dollars.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Wow, unbelievable. And the thing you know, how to do
the authenticity on the baybooth Jerseys is with the mustard
stains from the hot band.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
That's the big band right there.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Yeah, yeah, that is right there with a little cigar
ash on it too, exactly. Chris Man, I'm looking at
some of these. Rob brought this one to my attention.
I'm looking at you got the USA track jacket warn
by Olympic sprinter John Carlos, and this is on here
and Tommy Smith raised their clinched fist. That's such an
iconic picture image right now. We got ours up right
now in honor of Black History Month.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
That's why. So I mean I'm looking at one like that.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
I'm not saying I got fifty k later a round,
but man, that might be something to have. And you know,
and then in the man cave at some point, right yeah.
Speaker 8 (28:57):
No doubt. I mean, this is such a cool piece,
right Everyone knows that image, they have that that image
in their mind. And this is the this photo MAT's
jacket that that John Carlos was wearing on the podium
when he's given the fifth salute.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
Wow.
Speaker 8 (29:11):
And the cool the cool thing about this is this
is actually consigned to us by John Carlos. But but
with me is the backstory, which is at the Olympics.
You know, they sent him home after that, yeh, and
he switched his warm up jacket with with another athlete
that was from Africa, and you know that was it.
(29:32):
And then decades later that gentleman passed away and his
son found the jacket and he reached out to John
Carlos and said, hey, got your your your track jacket.
Wow exactly. So they got in touch and he sent
it back to John Carlos from Africa, and and John
was very appreciative of it, and he said, you know what,
(29:54):
I'm going to sell this and he's going to donate
most of the proceeds from the sale back to that
gentleman for keeping. That's good care of this jacket over.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Wow, that's a great That is a great story.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
And by the way, you know, i'mna get my money up, Chris,
I'm gonna get my money up, and I'm gonna come
maybe look at that at some point. Chris Ivy is
our guest Heritage Auction Sports Collectibles and they have their
Winter Platinum Night auction. It's underway and it continues through
February twenty second and the twenty third.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
You also have a Jackie Robinson card from what nineteen
fifty four worth a hundred thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Tell us about that one.
Speaker 8 (30:31):
Yeah, so this is again this is you know, this
is because of this condition rarity, right, like you know,
there's there's you know, plenty of these cards out there
from nineteen fifty four, but this one's in Mint nine condition.
So there's only twenty other examples of this card in
nineteen fifty four tops Jackie Robinson card that are in
(30:52):
this condition, and there's no examples that are great at
jim Min ten. So this is the best of the
best for fifty four tops Jacket Robinson. And yeah, we're
expecting it that it's going to be somewhere in the
eighty two, one hundred and twenty thousand dollars range somewhere
in that ballpark. And you know, Jack Robbins is just
one of the greatest, and he's got a huge fan
(31:15):
base and he gets a high, uh, you know, a
lot of interest in Jack Robinson collectibles.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
As you could imagine.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
So Chris, just to wrap it up, tell us again
when the event is where it's at how can people
look at the website, look at what you guys are
offered and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Can you do that?
Speaker 8 (31:36):
Yes, everything we're talking about here is as part of
our winter plotinum Night, and you can go on AHA
dot com that's h for Heritage Auctions and everything's currently
open for bidding and it's all going to culminate this
Saturday night for Session one and Sunday night for session too.

rid of the ghost runner what you might as well
start the tenth inning off with bases loaded and then
and then now in the NBA, a sport I've loved
for going over seventy years, you're talking ten minute quarters,
four point shots. You might as well throw the guy
(35:33):
who has a flavor and foul and make the team
play shorthand at five on four. You're killing the games

Speaker 12 (36:27):
I'm trashing Adam Silver for his part in destroying the NBA.
Let's start with changing the name of the owners to governors.
You want a white man to sit, somebody gotta do it. Okay, Rachid,
he the owners owned the team. They own the name
of the team, which is on the front of the jersey,
and the players wear the jersey. How do I know
(36:49):
that the owners don't own the players because they can
quit at any moment. Okay, Adam stop being a jellyfish.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
Wow, fired up, jelly fired up, jelly fish sting though
I'm afraid of jellyfish when we know.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
I saw you a dead rat in New Orleans and
I've never seen you run that fast.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
In my life. It was so big. I see the
trip though you literally didn't see it. I was running out, Alex.
He did not see Who was that a woman?
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Yeah? He was a cop saying hey, watch out for
the rat before she got to the tea and rat.
Rob Parker was at Emeralds, the restaurant which was two
blocks away. Somehow he ran that fast You've never seen them.
And then we get there. I'm laughing about it. Go
with you, did you see it? Because the rat was
like there, he wasn't even like splattered. It's just like
you must have had a heart attack. And Rob goes, oh,
I didn't see it.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
I just ran. I didn't want to see it. So
all she had to do was say rat and you run. Yes,
I don't want to see it, Alex. Now you know
the code word. I'm down? All right?
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Andy in Oregon, you're on the yye couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (37:50):

Speaker 9 (38:33):
Being the Leadue commentator and that stupid gory waits to

all right, yeah your I don't know the landline or
I don't know what that was. It was sounded like
sixty minutes. Yeah I did, didn't know what about sixty minutes.
Maybe that was Jim Nance listening on, y'all. I might
have been his lady, like I'm tired of you called them.
You got sixty seconds, get your trash talking on in
sixty second. We'll see if he calls back. But yeah,
(39:02):
they fired up. Boy, that was a fired up edition.
Everybody called it. Adam Silver caught it, Lebron steph KT's
hair caught a straight all right, minding his own business,
he told he called Katie's hair and happy And who

Speaker 2 (40:10):
Can we not? How did you flinch? You got it?
But there are bats in here.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
It's a little red, a little alex it was. But
it died peacefully. My died in his sleeper so because
it just rolled over and he rob
