By the way, they've they've been been playing around this week,
the calls this period. People been fired up between trash
talking Tuesday and just.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Some of the topics.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Maybe you've fired up, but no, shout to your mom Patrick,
she uh basically a drug dealer at this point. He's
supplying the family, Rob. I know I'm looking, don't look.
You know, I have a beautiful family. My daughters will
love it. And it's a Friday, and you know they
had a great school week, so I'm gonna reward them.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
I'm not gonna I'm gonna eat some. I'm salivating over
the won't He's not gonna make it. I'm not remember
the diet, Rob, No, I'm staying on the diet. I'm
gonna I'm gonna sniff. Do you know what somebody did
at my at my other job. I won't put her
name out there, but you know her.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
So she would walk by and have treats all on
top of the filecab, and you use that's that's known
when we put them up there, that means for everybody.
And she walked by. This is early when Spectrum first started.
She walked by, she put her nose and smell keep walking,
all right, that was kind of weird.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Whatever. Hour later she walks by and she keeps walking like,
what is it? Okay?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Next time, I go, what, just have one? And she
looked at me so upset. Rob She goes, no, honey,
I like to look good naked. And she said that
was her way of saying, I sniff it, iron handle it.
I know what I would do to those brownies was kick,
but I'm not gonna eat it.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
I like to Okay, I'm gonna send a memo to
your mom. Uh huh, that's Alex. She can make cookies. Yeah,
October tenth for me. I'll take my cookies in October.
She may even make a cheesecake or even get you
a cheesecake at that point in October. In October, you
got a long way to go. Do you go like
full binge or you like slowly get back? Like is
(03:26):
it one day You're like October October. Now I won't
go crazy, but I'll have a piece of Is it
like New Orleans two point zero? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Well that was crazy, I'll be honest with you.
Speaker 6 (03:36):
Right.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
I knew we were having the you know, trying to
lose weight and get back into shape and all that,
so I overdid it, Alex. Every time they were looking around,
I had liked.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
And Robbie was starting like, you don't know we had
you know, there's ten numbers. You got the area code
and the rest, and then we were like we were
getting ready to pass the last number to get help.
Speaker 7 (03:53):
Rob I remember you guys were about to go to
Emeralds and you had a foot long in front of
you on the stage. Oh right there, yeah, subway right
before I did was concerning.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
No, I did. But now you're locked in and Alex,
imagine being in the convention center there and they're making
free wings. Seriously, they don't ask no questions. They just
like could just walk up to the patrick and get
wings and paper. It was bounty.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
He was sponsoring them. It was that was a great marketing.
And because what they would do for you to wipe. Yeah,
they have these high bar tables, so you're sitting there
eating the wings with the bounty white paper towel. So
just and then they had the football where you can
like be a quarterback try to throw it through the
whole bounty represented up in there.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
No, it's great, and they just the wings just kept.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Frying them up, and she knew who to go to
shed here you go, here comes that one guy. And
she did give them three at a time with fire
or five in the box.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
And I would walk over to the Fox Sports where
we were set up and went two or three bos
and people would just look at me to shake your head.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Like then they ladies walked by with like little like
slider Ham sandwiches and like anybody even Sammy with a
Sammy and.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Rob yeah, hey, hey is that a sandwich? Then he
had right, exactly is that a sandwich?
Speaker 1 (05:06):
We just left breakfast, the one in which Robberie fed him,
so it was it was did not feed me.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
I'm sorry, I mean gave you some pancakes.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
It was remarkable to see hey, Patrick yeah, there's a
quarterback available on the Super Bowls won four MVP yep,
all pro I think three times, right at least I
think all right.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Right, I mean that's it.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
I'd be shocking now because that you know, it's hard,
you know, to win that. I think even Brady doesn't
have that many.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Two or two three, you know what I mean. You
can't win every year.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
It's hard to win first team all pron the NFL
when you it's against all the quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yeah, now you're right when you say what you said.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, so that is day Aaron Rodgers. What what is
the latest now that he's uh not going back to
the New York Jetropolitans.
Speaker 8 (05:53):
Right, yeah, No, So with Aaron Rodgers, you know, the
forty one year old, now that he is, you know,
out with the New York Jets, apparently he has been
back in California training. He was actually caught up yesterday
by TMZ and they were asking him all these questions. Guys,
They're asking what are you considering for your next destination?
(06:15):
And Aaron Rodgers actually went to say he's got two
rules or two things of what he's looking for for
his next team, whether he ends up on one or not.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
We'll see.
Speaker 8 (06:25):
But number one, he says, I want to go to
a team that wants me, so we'll see it's that.
And then number two, to help eliminate further teams, they
have to be a good team. That's his two rules.
They have to want me and they have to be good.
Those are his two requirements for his next not.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Trying to trying to rebuild, trying to I'm not going
to Tennessee or was it Charlotte trying to rebuild or something, Yeah,
something like that. I'm not interested in that. And that
makes sense at forty.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
One at this point, I mean, at this point, it's
supposed to be plug and play, which is what the
Jets they were having four.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Times, so you got it. Yeah, ye, Well that's funny
because four m vps are four All pros and somebody
quarterback this year was first team All Pro but didn't
win an MVP from that.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
Yeah, I'm just saying he's gonna get more, though, lamar
get more, and honestly, like the dwindling down of his
possible destinations isn't a whole lot anyways. With those two requirements,
the only two that technically count for both if well,
unless the one teams want them, but teams that are
good that could need a quarterback would be the Pittsburgh Steelers,
(07:38):
which he's been linked to rumored and whether they want
or not. And then this one, and me personally as
a Viking fan, I will say, I definitely don't think
they do want him. Vikings are also one that with Darnold,
who knows and if they trust JJ McCarthy, which I
think they do.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
Those are the two popular ones, and then ones that
aren't necessarily good but could sneak up Titans Raiders uh
and even the.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
So I have the Rams written down because that's the
sneaky one. You gotta watch sneak because first of all,
Sean McVay is an incredible coasters, no denying that, and
he always feels like he's able to do something.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
He got Jared Goff to a Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Then you say, well that was maybe there was luck
or this, well, okay, then I got Matthew Stafford there
and then in this year, if they don't fumble, maybe
they're in the NFC champion in the Super Bowl, I
should say, or NFC Championship game, and then from there
you never know what happened. So, uh, that's an interesting
one because they just, for whatever reasons, don't want to
pay Matthew Stafford. He's been really good with them, especially
(08:36):
in the postseason.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
They don't want he's thirty seven, his wife's are paying
in the bud. There's a lot of stuff going on,
you know what I mean, right, and then what he
would get paid at this age. They maybe don't want to.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
But it's weird though, because he's been really good with them,
especially in the postseason, so you would think, let's just
ride this thing out. He's obviously he's in good shape,
so it's like, let's go another two or three. He
gets hard, but he always comes back, as you know
that covering him in Detroit, So you think, give him
another two or three years. But it's looking like the
wife has done podcasts mentioning they're ready to reset if
they need to and go to another city. Her brother
(09:06):
is an assistant coach out there with the Giants, and
there's inklings that maybe they would go there. So it's
starting that rumor or that hush is starting to get
louder with Matthew Stafford being traded. So if Matthew Stafford
were to be traded, the Rams do become interesting because
if you know, if Aaron Rodgers takes a haircut just
for a year too, you know, two year, you know, say,
(09:27):
fifty million dollar deal where it's not that much money
for a starting quarterback of his accolades, I can see
the Rams being one right, they're kind of plug and play.
They're already good. They expect to get better. They would
obviously want him because they would not have a quarterback
at the time they let if they trade and get
rid of Matthew Stafford. So the Rams are the most
(09:48):
interesting one. Raiders not interesting there to me. Titans, Titans
that that doesn't turn that isn't they're not good, They're
not turning around and all of a sudden being good.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
The Giants aren't good right now.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
So the Steelers become an interesting one because the stay
with Justin Field to say, we don't have to pay much.
He already knows the system, he's already been here, he
knows thee That.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
They were even linked the Justin Fields in Pittsburgh just
doesn't seem like because every chance they get they're going
for an older God, would you admit that that even
they Russell first though? No, but they easily. But the
Aaron Rodgers, you don't think that's coming out of nowhere
like that. The easiest thing to do is say Justin
fields our quarterbacks, sign him to a contract and be
(10:31):
done with it.
Speaker 9 (10:32):
I know.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
I get told you seriously, if you if you really
believe that's your guy, you saw enough last year.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Maybe you saw enough.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
In the opposite way of Russell Wilson when you say, hey,
we gave you the shot, We're moving on Justin's.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
I'm saying, like, you could do that and it's all over,
no more quarterback conversation.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Maybe, but maybe they're not sold on him to the
point where why would we not wait around?
Speaker 2 (10:54):
What does Sam Darna want to do? What does Matthew.
Speaker 10 (10:59):
Have?
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Somebody and you really believe in them.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
I'm just saying, but I want to go back thirty
years ago, Rob Parker, maybe twenty years ago, Rob Parker.
What I mean is you like her, Rob, but I'm
not ready to commit commit Let me just ah, No,
I like her, I like her, I like her, but
you didn't love her.
Speaker 8 (11:18):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
What I'm talking about, You know what I'm saying, we
like but they're like, it's something else. It's you get
what I'm saying, not like wed like he called it
the back pocket, that he's young, he got up to
a good star. You were saying all the playing teammates
all on him. Yeah, that's what you said to me.
(11:39):
I said, like, that's what was out because it was
a locker room divided, something like we got we got
the points better as.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Soon as he was out, and I didn't hear anybody grumbling, Uh,
you know because they went one five. You want to
ignore the six straight they lost. Yeah, But and I'm
just talking to turn me out. All I'm saying is
a back pocket. I don't believe I got this here.
It's in the back pocket. I know where it is.
You have a quarterback. You want to secure that guy.
Take that out of the mix, that conversation, take that
(12:06):
doubt out, give the guy a feeling. He's a young
guy that you could build with. But I keep telling you,
Mike Tomlin, if he needs to win a.
Speaker 8 (12:14):
Playoff game for the Steelers, like the anti Aaron Rodgers,
the Pittsburgh thing, what was it like last week? Just
Shaun Elliott was on Instagram, took his old hat to
he was going, I don't want him saying, you know,
that like, so that's another to me.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
To me like, that's but that's one guy.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
He haint the owner hein.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
And then the thing that's crazy is if Aaron Rodgers
goes there, he'll be the first one to be like, hey,
you know what I mean, Jersey, You know what I mean? Like,
that's why you don't just talking, man, That's why I
want to.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
Do that, you know what I mean? Like like why
would you do?
Speaker 3 (12:51):
He could be your teammate and they might be like, well,
maybe you're not hearing it.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yeah, that's a I mean, listen if you're going to
have an issue with it.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
But so.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
I do wonder is the market even smaller than we
think though, just because teams at this point are trying
to build because they know they got to compete with Lamar, Right,
Lamar ain't going nowhere. I know, I gotta people with
Patrick Mahomes. He ain't going nowhere. Look at what Josh Allen,
Joe Burrow. They get a half good, halfway good defense.
I gotta compete with that. There's so many bad teams
without quarterbacks now.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
I just think that, but remember we're going based off
I don't want to go where it's a bad right,
I don't want to go to a bad team.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
No, but I mean where people would want to upgrade you.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Sam Donald just had that great year, and all the
talk is that they don't want to sign them, like
they don't want to catch them out. And you know
what I'm trying to say, like like, like, what can
you play any better? Like for most all except for
the last two games, and even there there's still a
little squeamish on him.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
I'm serious. Like that.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
That tells you that if you feel like you have
a quarterback, but you could upgrade and and look at
it and and and you hear Colin Coward's talked about this,
and we talked about him. Look at Aaron Rodgers numbers
the last ten games, say.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Would have blindfolded you and told you the number, you
know you would you would be like, oh, that dude
had a solid season.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
He had a good season and it but.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
They didn't win so so it was even horrible, you know,
that's the way you look at it. His numbers were
very comparable to Patrick Mahomes. One team was fifteen and two.
The other team didn't make the playoff.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
And that's the thing though, when it goes back to
the the plug and play theory, right, is that for him?
He had to win because the Jets were banking on
we're going back two years ago.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
We got a good run of game. Fans got this
amazing and all of a sudden they couldn't run the
ball and they didn't play deef.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Yeah, and it well, first, going back the first time,
he gets hurt at the four snap. So that and
every team the next year automatically doesn't mean they're the
same team, You get.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
What I mean.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
So they can't just all right, we'll just do it
again next year we had the same team. That's not
necessarily the case. So beget who who wants him? He said,
I want to go where I wanted. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
All right, when's the fit? What fit do you think
works for Aaron Rodgers? If you were playing the role
of general manager eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine,
it is the odd couple on a funky Flashback Friday,
Rob Parker kelvin Washington right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Stick and.
Speaker 7 (15:18):
If you can think of a place for Aaron Rodgers
to go in the USA, A okay, I'll do that.
Speaker 9 (15:25):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Okay, Patrick, get it? Patrick? Huh doing? Patrick?
Speaker 11 (15:39):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Is this Tom Jones? Fah?
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Let me guess Tom Jones version is better than Michael Jackson.
Shout out to Sean, because Sean knows you're crazy. Matter
of fact, give me your wallet right now? What you're
black card? Wait a minute, let me look, wait, let
me oh, it was not even in here in the
first place.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Fire Wow, Wow, they took it already.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Daggit. Tom Jones is better than Prince. Can't believe you
just said that to me.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Company Live from tyrereck dot com Studios, Rob and Kelvin
The I Couple. We're broadcasting live from tirerack dot com.
They're gonna help you get there and unmatched selection, fast
free shipping, free road has a protection in over ten
thousand recommended installers tirerack dot com. The way tire buying
should be. We're talking about Aaron Rodgers. What makes sense?
Speaker 3 (16:25):
He came out TMZ By the way, TMZ catches everybody
But they called him and they said where what this was?
They standout?
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Yeah, I mean all the cool little hot restaurants and
then they just they just hire anybody like so just
if you got a camera, go, we'll pay for it.
And so yeah, but they called him and he said,
he has a couple of conditions. He wants to be
wanted and he also wants to go somewhere good. He's
forty one. He ain't got time for excuse me, nothing else.
So where do you think's best landing spot? Where is
a likely landing spot? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fix?
(16:55):
All right, Scott in uh South North Carolina. Sorry, you're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports. Read what's up, Scott?
Speaker 12 (17:01):
What's my guys? How y'all doing doing good?
Speaker 3 (17:03):
How were you? I know you were. Did you call
instance the Super Bowl because you were all about the
Eagles and you were trying to tell Kelvin to get
off your man's He called, Yes, okay, Eagles fan.
Speaker 12 (17:17):
You know I've been just relative in our victories.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Well, I know, and I remember Kelvin was questioning Jalen
Hurts and there's passing and he played great and was MVP.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
I know, still question a little bit whatever, Like I'm.
Speaker 12 (17:30):
About about Amaron Rodgers. Honestly, I think he should go retire.
But if he, if I had to pick a place,
he will be probably sent Francisco. He needs to be
around the environment that has the pedigree of winning.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
That's another place. But that's another place. And he's from
northern California. I mean, so I think they're gonna ride
with their riding with.
Speaker 12 (17:48):
Brock in Minnesota. That's a test division, and so I
don't think that should be a good spot, you know,
in the forty nine just all he has to do
beat the rounds and they have a playoffs playoffs fight.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
But so you rock out, you just kick rock to
the current people are that high on the forty nine
ers currently.
Speaker 12 (18:07):
Yeah, But the thing with a Rogers is he's not
a good leader. He has a skill set, but he
can't really leave teams. So he has to go to
a spot where the team's already built and already has
that leadership in place.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Yeah, all right, thank you, sir. I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Yeah, I ain't. No, I ain't get rid of Rock.
He's too young, twenty five or twenty five. Think, but
if you think your window is closing younna lose players, and.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
But I'm not doing that for Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Okay, you teld me, I'm doing that because Joe Burrow
is available or something, or.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Telling you you're Joe Burrow's not gonna be available for That's.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
What I'm saying. You know, I'm not doing it. Why
would I do that for that?
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Mike in Augusta, you're on the odd couple of Fox Sportuatio.
What's up, Mike?
Speaker 2 (18:49):
What up? Though? Hey?
Speaker 13 (18:51):
Man? Prayers to the folks some of the short I
can't imagine how cold it hasn't be for a flood
to turn into solid ice.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Yeah, cars are getting stuck in it. Yeah, man is
as wild for sure.
Speaker 13 (19:03):
That's crazy, my man. Aaron Rodgers, I'm a Rogers fan,
a Packers fan, and I noticed I saw a graphic
that showed his numbers next to Josh Allen, and without
the rush of yards, they are almost identical.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
You know what. That's what people don't understand is that
because it just couldn't win any game last day, he
was right.
Speaker 13 (19:26):
So I'm thinking if he follows the same passes Brett Farva,
I'm not sholing when I say this but if he
went to Minnesota, they could be a contender.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
That would be crazy that he went the same rocker Minnesota,
wouldn't it.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Yeah, Brett might do something to him that crazy. He
might rob him or something. He might robbing like he
robbed people. Well, all right, Mike, appreciate you, Thanks buddy.
All right, Sean from Sacramento. I'm going about you about nothing,
but more want to talk about Tom Joe and how
are you?
Speaker 10 (19:58):
Yeah, I'll go from another brother, cousin Kelby. My brother's
behind the board. What up adles with Ol Patrick? Real quick, Rob,
I need to know, man, do you like Dolly Parton's
version over Whitney's version of I Will Always Love You Too?
Speaker 11 (20:13):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (20:14):
Man, No, I don't. What is wrong? What's wrong with
the all the Noise featuring Tom Jones was? That's a
great version.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
It was.
Speaker 10 (20:24):
That sounded so nineteen ninety two and corny, Man, that
was almost as bad as well. I'm not even gonna
go there, but you saw a Robert Griffin the third
Little Terrible Joke online where people was praising you for
calling him a cornball almost twenty years ago. Man, So
we appreciate you for that ride.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
I gotta get some credit, don't I get some credit
for that?
Speaker 10 (20:44):
I saw over five hundred apologies to Rob Parker on
that post man.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
It was crazy. It was crazy.
Speaker 6 (20:50):
My god, Parker wasn't wrong, he was just early but
real quick.
Speaker 10 (20:53):
On this one.
Speaker 11 (20:54):
Man.
Speaker 10 (20:55):
I don't see how this man is still going to
be employed by the NFL next year. They did this man,
Colin Kaepernick so bad for having political stances, for being controversial,
for being bigger than the starter in the NFL on
that team at the time. How are they going to
have a guy who's still doing podcasts, who who went,
who was rumored to be a vice presidential nominee. It
(21:18):
just seems like such a distraction. I think the only
place where he wouldn't be the biggest personality of the
room and not even the best quarterback in the organization
will be the Raiders. Bring him there, if they could
draft the door. He'd be a great guy to mentor him,
and who knows if he needs to start a couple
of games, even start the year, He's a great guy
to learn behind. I don't think any other place will
fit that guy.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Yeah, you brought a bunch a great points, Sean.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
I mean I don't know if teams are want to
invest in that want to go through and a drama
want to go through. You already heard some team, including
the Jets, saying, man, we've got to stop the Pat
McAfee and all that. And I don't think he wants
to do that. I think he enjoys his individuality, being himself.
So I don't know if people comply, if teams start
to have rules.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
When you win, that none of that stuff matters.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Get that winning.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
I don't know. I'm saying, like, if you think that
that's the reason you're winning or losing, then that's an
organization that hasn't won in a long time because you're
it's it's a little noise like it's about having the
right people in place, building the culture, having the right
coaches and stuff. I'm just saying, you could find any
kind of reason, Oh we're not winning because of this
(22:21):
or that.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
No.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
No, I remember, for years working in Detroit, the reason
the lines don't win because they were cursed. Nobody just
wanted to say they didn't hire the right people, or
they hire bad coaches. You know what I mean, Oh
we're cursed. No hired the wrong general manager, made the
wrong draft picks and you hired the wrong coaches. That's
why you didn't win.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Man, they wouldn't win it. I was there, I was there,
I lived it. I know.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
I always say, get a receiver. Of all the stuff
that I've ever done, let's just get a receiver.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Two twenty four game road losing streaks in the NFL,
how's that possible? During the Matt Millanie or all right?
Speaker 2 (22:56):
That is absolutely terrible. All right, Mark Stein cant a
joint us.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
We'll jump back to these association, have some NBA talking
just a little bit befirst. We've got to get you
updated what's trending, and that will be Steve Seger doing it.
Speaker 11 (23:06):
Let's start with college hoops on Fox TV right now,
Big Big ten matchup, each ranked in the top fifteen
in the country. Michigan State leads fifty one forty seven
at Michigan with about twelve minutes to go. Today, Michigan
gave coach Dusty May a new contract. We've got about
two weeks left in the regular season. In men's college hoops,
earlier on FS one, Villanova at home beat up Number
(23:27):
sixteen Marquette eighty one to sixty six. The NHL is
off until Saturday. Nine NBA games Tonight, Cleveland won at
six in a row, destroying New York one forty two
to one oh five. Cavs shot sixty one percent from
the floor. The Bucks are holding on in the final
minute at Washington one oh four to one oh one.
Wizards record stands at nine and forty five game this season.
(23:50):
Grizzlies are tied with under two minutes left at Orlando
one oh four one oh four. At Dallas, late first
halb MAVs lead the Pelicans forty six forty two, and
late first half at San Antonio Spurs over the Pistons
fifty seven to fifty. Yankees manager Aaron Boone signed an
extension through twenty twenty seven. The Yankees won their spring
training opener today. Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman could make
(24:14):
his spring debut next week after ankle surgery in the
off season. Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith had triceps surgery this week.
He played through the injury in the recent Super Bowl.
The New Orleans Saints new defensive coordinator will reportedly be
Brandon Staley. He worked with new head coach Kellen Moore
two years ago with the Chargers. Jacksonville's new general manager
is James Gladstone from the Rams. The Bears cut tight
(24:36):
end Gerald Everett and defensive end de Marcus Walker. Cincinnati
released defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins. Pittsburgh signed tight end Donald Parham.
The NFL scouting Combine starts Thursday. Nebraska canceled its home
and home football series against Tennessee, which would have been
in twenty six and twenty twenty seven. Nebraska cites its
(24:56):
stadium renovations.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Coming back to you, he.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Is stevis have a great weekend, Steve. Thank you so much.
Appreciate you say, thank you. Steve is going to talk
to my class at USC on Monday. Oh nice, sap
to zoom link.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
Thank you very much now that I got to be
in there. What's the topic?
Speaker 3 (25:14):
What's the that's uh, well, radio reporting is what I
want Steve to talk to the students about. He's done
it before. Uh got a great reaction, So thank you, Steve.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Oh sounds good. All right, look forward to that. Maybe
here a little bit about it. On Monday. It's the
oct couple coming to you live for the Tirack dot
Com studios and we'll joined now by Mark Stein NBA
insider the Stein Line on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Give him a follow, Mark, what's up man, how you doing.
Speaker 6 (25:40):
Old couple? No, you're just od that's right.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Yes, Well, Kelvin's much younger than Chris.
Speaker 6 (25:47):
So yeah, he balanced it out nicely.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Listen.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
I tried to because if he brings up Tom Petty
and Tom Jones and any other time anymore, I'm gonna
lose it.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
You know, I'm just gonna say this, Mark, he's mad
at me because use we played the Prince his Kids
coming back from a break, and then I said to him,
Tom Jones and Art of Noise did that song as well,
and I thought that's a better version. So he thinks
that I'm an old man because I don't think what
time everybody just saying.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
I didn't realize you get to control the music. You
really have a lot of juice over there.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
We made, yeah, mostly ours juice. But that's about Alex.
Alex comply sometimes and I get mad at him and
he agree with them. So hey, Mark Steyn, the game
just ended in Cleveland, Uh two to one oh five.
Cleveland scored sixty six points in the paint, just total domination.
How good is this? Cleveland Cavaliers team.
Speaker 6 (26:46):
You know, for most of the season they've been on
a seventy plus win pace and that's flipped somewhat, but
you know, they've there's been so much chaos all season
and then we just had maybe the wildest trade deadline ever.
So we still really don't talk about the Calves as
(27:08):
much as we should have, but I think you have
to really hit your cap to them because you know,
they had tremendous chemistry. They got off to a fifteen
and oh start. I mean they but you know, they
made a big trade at the deadline to get DeAndre
Hunter in there because they knew on the wing they
were small and that was a potential weakness. And they've
(27:31):
also got Vonte Green coming in as well. Javonte Green's
agreed to a buyout with New Orleans and he's going
to end up with the Calves once he clears waivers.
So you know the fact that the Calves Tarris LeVert
and George Niang, you know, they were willing to give
those guys up and potentially mess with their chemistry because
(27:53):
they feel like they have a championship shot right now,
and so that was you know, that was again we
don't talk about it enough, but it's a pretty interesting
move from the Calves to be willing to make changes
when things are going so well. But they are, Look,
they're in the they are in the championship conversation. I
mean the thunder of the Calves, the Celtics, those three
(28:16):
teams I think have separated themselves. And then I think
Denver is getting back to its best. Jamal Murray's really
been good since Christmas, so I think I think the
Nuggets are in that group to to to me, those
four teams, you know, that is the class of the
league right now.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Well, you let me mark the conversation about the Nuggets earlier.
They seem to be you mentioned it, getting right where
they want to be as they start to lead towards
the playoff stretch. Murray's playing well, Jokis is obviously out
of this world, and also Russell Wellstbrook back as well.
They're nine and one in their last ten. How good
can they be? What's their ceiling? Are they just getting
(28:55):
right at the perfect time to make a championship push?
Speaker 6 (28:59):
Well, look, Jokic has played the best basketball this season
we've ever seen from him. Now that they're back in
you know, they are on a fifty win pace. You know,
I think Okitch is going to win MVP again really obviously, Yeah,
I think, you know, Shay Gilless, Alexander has a tremendous
case because the thunder are going to have the best
record in the West. And Yannis, if you really just
(29:21):
laser in on the level he's played at, I think
he has to be in the conversation as well. But
guy Yokitch is averaging like thirty twelve and ten, and
early on, you know, the Nuggets were like sixteen and twelve. Okay,
when they're sputtering close to five hundred, you could say, okay,
it doesn't matter if Joki is putting up those numbers.
(29:42):
But when when they're a fifty something win team and
Yokic is averaging again thirty twelve and ten, how is
he not the MVP favorite.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
We we have this conversation and I said that the
Jokers having a better year in the years he's won
the MVP, And I said, writers are going to have
a big issue. If you believe in the analytics and
the numbers, how in the world can he not win MVP?
But then again, I just saw Jackson not win an
(30:15):
MVP that by the numbers. He also had his greatest
way ever.
Speaker 6 (30:20):
I'm not hold on old okay, all right, old on,
old on. I am barely qualified to talk NFL. You
have you guys, do not realize that you have a
lifelong Buffalo Bills fan on the line.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
Oh there we go.
Speaker 6 (30:37):
And my son is the biggest Josh Allen fans who
does not live in Western New York. The Bills were
supposed to be rebuilding this season. They had two Pro
bowlers to the Ravens nine.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Okay, can I stop you, let me stop you hearing?
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Please don't tell me, Please do not start with this.
Josh Allen did not deserve him.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
He did not, He did not deserve repeat. And here's
the other one, the kick her. The Ravens started oh
and two. Only nine percent of teams that start owing
to in the NFL make the playoffs. Only nine percent. Okay,
So they started in a big hole. Came back and
his numbers.
Speaker 6 (31:17):
Were big hole.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Yes, not only nine percent of teams that start owing
to make the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (31:23):
Yes, nobody, nobody on earth had the Bills going thirteen
and three this year and beating Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
Jars h Allen's numbers was so bad they couldn't even
make them first team All Pro because they couldn't even
justify it like they could.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
I got it. I gotta stop now because I'm hearing
I'm veering into a lane that I should not be in.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
No, it's all good, It's all good. You know what
I keep saying. They need to change the name of Buffalo,
New York to uh wide right New York. But I
know you don't want to hear that either. No, you
He was about to come to his phone. Make just
his phone at a minute.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
And why should Robin I never get through ten minutes
without being on ever?
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Every time Mark, this happens, that's right always man, Well,
real quick, we.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Get you out of here on this.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
We've been asking everybody you know, just getting their thoughts.
We're pretty much put it to a bed after You'll
be the last one at least All Star weekend.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Mark Stine's fixing it. What are you doing?
Speaker 3 (32:16):
He loved it?
Speaker 6 (32:18):
No, I didn't. I very much do not love it.
I think the NBA's move is to cancel the game,
and then everyone will be.
Speaker 10 (32:26):
How can they cancel the All Star Games? This is
an outrage bring it back.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
That's the only thing they can do at this point
to save this.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
That's interesting.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
I bring it back and say, see you missed it
now like it is that like.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
The regular coke when they went to the new Coke,
you remember that? Bring Sorry guys, Sorry, sorry about that,
Sorry about that? All right, Mark, Thank you, Man. I
appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Next next time we have you on, you and Rob,
maybe ten minutes we'll not have to go at about something.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
That'll be great and Mark, one.
Speaker 6 (32:52):
Of these days it'll happen, yea.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
And for the record, I told him for the entire
season that Josh Adam's gonna win.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
That the only thing he got right this year. And
I told you that that Eli Manning was not getting
in the Hall of Fame yet.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
I told you that as well. All right, thank you, Mark,
I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Be good, guys, Yeah you too.

Somebody picked every before, every every recording session. He's like,
you know what it is, it's time for you to
kick me there. I want you to kick me there.
And they would kick him in. That's where he would
get that from, because then you know, if you tell
me if you ever heard him talk, he talks like this.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
The year goes to Prince. He can get up there.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
They think, you just want to think God for all
the man like anute. You've been saying a high pitch
all that time. And he and he was so little
my five two, I believe. But he was a big
basketball heels Kelvin Yeah, I know.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
And he had the pants you always talk about the
fifty percent off that's right left and right cheeks out.

they're fifty percent to do with Patrick, don't do it

Speaker 3 (38:51):
That's right, all right?
Speaker 2 (38:52):
You having pictures you all over the gram. All right?
Speaker 1 (38:53):
We said no weekend plans, no for change. Yeah, just
chilling out and have some dinner. Excited about your dinner,
a little lobster dinner.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
Yeah, figuring that. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Yeah, I don't know what we're doing for dinner. You
haven't thought about the probably.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
Bring those cookies to the kids, do not yet the cookie.
I ain't no way, Alex, ain't no way. He's going
to eat a cookie. He's eating at least three.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Well, all right, So to make sure I give her
proper duebat mama mama, Patrick's what I call her. And
you said those things were cracked, Alex. Right, and this
is coming from you because you would be. I don't
like it was too much sugar of the hydroxy cutting
and other you would formatics of your colory. Yeah, what
did you have you there's there's some she's mixing it up.
(39:34):
She's in her bag right now making some brownie ones.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Too, man ten out of ten.
Speaker 8 (39:39):
He was really raving about the brownie ones. Alex is
going crazy.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
It was to know why it's even better.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
You had a nerve to tell me you would feed me.
That was a hold on, I have hold up? Yeah,
is that a cookie? Yeah, because there's a little sea
salt on so that. Yeah, but that's what we had
at Emeralds.
Speaker 3 (39:55):

Speaker 1 (40:04):

Speaker 1 (40:08):
Yes, Now I'm good. One day I'll tell you my
cookie theory. I don't like cookies or brownies right out
the oven.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up

Speaker 3 (40:22):
