And we're into week three, which is amazing to me.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
After I got like maybe a third of a bag
left or whatever, I like five or six at night.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
After that, I.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Think I'm even going to abandon these little snack at night. Okay,
That's why I'm no, You're locked in. I'm solid. I
was telling rog room for improvement, but I'm solid. But
for me, like I told you, I had the elliptical
like I have to. Since the eating isn't optimal quite
yet it's pretty good, then I need to be filling

(02:44):
it in obviously with working out and which I actually
enjoy the actual like lifting weights. I want to do
more that I actually enjoyed that it's a great way
for me to burn JRD.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
You got three kids, and honestly, man, this is what
I was telling Robber.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
He's like, no, no, when I go on this cruise
and I'm gonna just have sushi, and I said, it's
not even gonna be your funt.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Your wife doesn't want to go on a cruise and.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Be like, my gods, you got a you know, big
elephant ear to eat here, give you boobo, here's something.
And then you got no, no, honey, I'm on this
diet that I she don't what I did on vacation.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Your kid's gonna be like, daddy have to ike me.
And you're like, no, no, no, you know rob Kevin
and I are like, she didn't want to hear that, like,
and I was like, so something with these kids is
how are you on the bouty? That's good it?

Speaker 4 (03:22):
And so yeah, so you have to separate the good
thing for me. That helps is this this job because
I kind of am separate from like I can just
get them. You've you've sat here and watched me. How
much bring this home for them? Or hey, wife's like
how much? Just make them this great? I've eat my
leftovers here, or I'll eat something. So that helps cause
when you're there and they don't want this and they wanted.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Something bad, or you can roll with them and just
like a right, fine, Rob you you started out good,
and then of course the trip a week to Hawaii.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
You know through Yeah, I was winning. I was winning
the challenge. After the first week. I was down six
pounds in a week, and I was like, it's gonna
be at It's gonna be I gained five of them
back on vacation. So now I gotta get back at
what the thing I have started doing. I was talking
to double about this yesterday, is I've been waking up
five thirty am getting to work out in before the
four off.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah, and it really throws you at me.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
It's different for you, Dub because you already up early
for work, But will you get something done like that
and everyone's still asleep and you're like, you feel like
half the day's gone already, You're like, oh, it's you know,
six fifteen.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Like, what am I supposed to do now?

Speaker 6 (04:23):
Like?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
I no, I don't know what to do.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
My thing is though, like because I don't need from
seven point thirty until seven thirty the next day. And
then even my breakfast now is without bread or anything.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
So it's just.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Two sausage links and one egg. That's breakfast.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yeah, I had a birth through. You'd be hunger an hour.
Incorporate some avocado in that, you know, yeah, like avocado.
By the way, Mary says she wants in on the challenge. Oh, il,
like I could smoke, y'all, really I believe. I mean,
she's already vegan, vegitarian, vegetarian. Have you seen what she
eats in here? No, she got like a whole bag
of potato chips, some orio. Never mind you for seventeen

(05:06):
you don't want to smoke.

Speaker 7 (05:08):
I don't want thirst stuff what I brought in because
I've been finally starting to cook a lot of more.
I made a potato and chickpea coconut curry and then
with some zucchini and some rice. A.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Well, fine, you can get in on this. Hey, it
is not exclusive.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Just as a matter of fact, even you listening, you
can get in, you can tweet us, you're We've had
people tweet us their progress.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
We want to follow along, try to lose. We're trying
to lose around twenty pound.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yeah, Shawn, and Sacramento is killing it too. You say
his shot and I'm about to block you. Yeah, don't
nobody want to see it? With sixteen miles today, I
don't want to hilt block.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
I have the kim Bab, but tumbo alright, p the
kembab steps today and I was happy about it.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Maybe little guys, yo, I did sixteen miles and it
burned twelve hundred calories already shot out. I don't want
to hear out that. Rob G.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
You want to jump in on this man, Joel and
b we talked about it a little bit yesterday what
the sixers were going to do, and all of a sudden,
now some new news, new reports that it could could
be worse.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
We already found out over the weekend that Mbat in
the sixer A were gonna be consulting with doctors to see
how they're gonna handle this knee issue that he's had
going Basically all season, because you know, it happened before
even the Olympics came back, and then he missed like
eighty percent of the game since he's been back well now,
according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, we know what they're considering,

(06:22):
and it goes from bad to worse. Option one a
total moniscus replacement, which will obviously the end of season,
missed a big chunk of next season. Number two low
dose radiation therapy, which they're not certain would even fix
the problem. It would just kind of prolong it and
hopefully he can continue to play on a bad knee.
And Number three, which they're terming a radical procedure. It's

(06:48):
called an osteotomy, I think how you pronounce.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
It, where doctors break a bone in hopes to realign the.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
Joint and alleviate pressure on on that knee. It's all
bad for Joe l Embiid. It's all bad for the Sixers, guys.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
So here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
We trusted the process, and the process led you to
getting Ben Simmons, and you had Embiid, and you thought
this was gonna go somewhere, and it didn't. Embiid has
been spectacular, one of the absolute best players when he's healthy.
There's no debate about that, and I don't think any
of us questioned that, and I don't even think any
of us questioned his desire. I think he absolutely wants

(07:29):
to be there, He absolutely wants to play, but at
this point, his body has failed him.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
And I told Rob g this earlier. We all assume,
because you're.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Seven foot seven foot one skilled, that God designed you
to play basketball for fifteen twenty years. And maybe that's
not the case. Everybody's not built the same. Some people
can't go Lebron's length. You know, Larry Bird, all time great,
only could play X amount of seasons. Back was given out.
He was too hurt. It just he couldn't do it.
Steve Nash could have had a few more year his back.

(07:57):
My point is, these things, type of things happen, and
if you're the seventy six ers, you trusted the process.
You had a shot or two in the postseason. They
fell short to mb Some of it was his fault.
He didn't perform in the postseason like you would have hoped.
And now it's time for you to move on, and
Joe Ellenbiid either has to you find a trading partner.
If you can't he has to be your third option

(08:18):
on the team because he's not.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
It's not the still second What you mean by that?
What I mean is meaning, well, he's healthy enough to play,
but he's the third option. When has he been healthy
enough to play?

Speaker 2 (08:29):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:29):
But I'm asking you, so, if he's on the team,
he has to be healthy to play.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Correct, Meaning you're our guy. Whenever you're here, you're a
third option. You're part of the team. We got you.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
But MAXI is our number one guy. And whoever the
number two is, it doesn't when you say he's the
third option. If he's on the team right and can
play he's healthy, No, but he why his health is
going down?

Speaker 8 (08:51):
No?

Speaker 3 (08:51):
No, no, no no.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
So what I'm saying is, even if he's healthy, is healthy,
is not five years ago, four years ago healthy? So
that he may not be the player he once was.
I can't operate rate thinking I'm gonna get that. That's asinine.
That's crazy to keep thinking you're gonna get that.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
But what I'm saying is if he's on the team,
then he has to be healthy. Correct, right, Okay, so
he would be the So he's healthy and he's the
third option.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Guess because I can't no longer, I can't have my
franchise based off Joel embiid ay and.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
He can't be on and he can't be on the team,
there's no such thing. If he's healthy, he's not going
to be a third option. The guy's won an m
v P. You're talking about Maxie and other people who's
two then.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
No, I'm saying you have to get people you can't.
They can't go on the next season going. We have
Joel embiid We're gonna do this.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
It's different. Your conversation is you want to get rid
of him, Okay, I have to can't participant.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
I can't just get rid of him if I don't
have to be on the team and be the third option,
is what I'm trying to say. Because if he's on
the team, that means he's healthy enough to play.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Correct ish Rob. He's literally never played a full season.
So what I'm saying is his healthy means he might
give me forty fifty games.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
That's a healthy So when he's healthy, he's the third option.

Speaker 9 (10:08):
I can't I'm asking you, yes, Okay, are you not
understanding the words that I'm coming out. I don't yes,
I'll tell you why, Rob. It makes it because the
first option is night in, night out, I have you.
My scheme is designed for you.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
My offense. He's sick, he's healthy, even for fifty games,
but you're gonna go he's gonna be the third option.
Know he's healthy and complying.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
What I'm saying is, I'm creating a system around MAXI.
Let's say they go get on another good second player,
that player. I can't create my offense around Joe l Ebie.
He's not a franchise player anymore because the franchise players
play for the franchise.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
And it's not his fault. I'm not knocking. It's his health.
So I can't go into it anymore. And then you're
talking about getting ready. I would love you.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
I'm gonna be a third option. It just doesn't make
sense if he's healthy.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
You're looking at it as I designate like Joe El.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
What I'm saying is, I'm creating a system around MAXI,
which makes him my way franchise number one option. I'm
creating a system that has him then my second guy
Alla Jordan and Scottie Pippen or so this is what
we run.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Oh, Joel's good tonight, Craig, come on up in this system,
Joel fourth see fourth option? What that's if.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
He's a fourth option, and that means my third option
is credible. What I'm saying is, why would he be saying.
I can't go on based around him anymore. I can't
go into the season getting things like I don't think
you have that choice.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
And what you do is I think if you got up,
you gotta get this guy healthy and think he's literally isn't.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
But I get that.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
But I'm just saying, if he's on the team, he's
not going to be a second or third option.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
I don't believe that. I don't care.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
If he's healthy and on the team, he's not a
second option now if you decide to opt for somebody
else to be the tip.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
But why is ity We just said Lebron is about
to be the second option to Luca Lebron.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
He's Lebron's forty years old to compare to a twenty
five year role.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Joel Embii's forty eight years old, Bally okay, and and
Tyree's he's won one. I mean, come on, as good
as he is, I'm just asking you, has he won
an m V. Can we get there?

Speaker 1 (12:05):
He's he only has a now he's playing every day.
He's your number one option and you lost ten in
a row.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
So he's the guy because I brought in another person
who's always injured in Paul George.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
That's just terrible. You pair Paul George always injured anything,
But what I'm saying, he's your number one option. You
still win, lose ten in a row. He needs they
needed the revamp of the team. Rob is all I'm saying.
And I'm not saying Max he is top three to
four player.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
What I'm saying is whoever that is currently Tyre's MAXI
you have to go on based off of that. I
can't go on. It's like the Clippers. They couldn't go
on based off Kawhi. He's never injured, he's never there.
So now it's James Harden And they've played well, and
I've talked about it, they've overperformed a little bit.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
I'm saying, if Kawhi Leonard is healthy, who's the number
one option on that team?

Speaker 3 (12:54):
How healthy is he? No, that's not what I asked you.
That's a real question. Is he rehabbing himself? If he's
healthy and you're playing No, it's not. It is Kawhi.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Come on, don't tell me it should be. If he's healthy,
he's the number one option on that team. But when
I kid yourself what I'm saying, that's my point.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
But this is where this is where we're differing. You
keep saying healthy. What I'm saying is all I've seen
from them is healthy, is healthy, light healthy. I'm on
my way almost healthy again. You get what I'm saying. Yeah, sure,
if you're telling these ninety five percent of himself, great,
but these dudes are literally working themselves into shape in
our eyes. Rob Kawhi comes back for two weeks, goes

(13:33):
away for two weeks, pops back up.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Don't seem again till that is, he's still the went healthy.
If he's on the team, he's going to be the
number one option. You okay, I just don't.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
I mean, they don't have him now, and Max he's
your guy, he's the number one guy and they've lost
ten in a row, so I don't understand. So that's
the guy you're building a round, and Paul George is playing.
He's a capable player. They gave him two hundred million dollars.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
So what you say that was? That was that's terrible
on the GM So Max and Paul Georgia no good?
Is that? It absolutely not? You can't pair? Why would you?

Speaker 4 (14:06):
That was literally one of the dumbest signings every and
I feel like all shows to start with that don't
borderline daily hum. Joellenbiados never plays healthy long season and
always insured, is not as fun.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
He's just he's injured.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Let's go get another guy who has become one of
the more injured guys in Paul George. Let's pare them
together and see how that goes. If it's like peanut
butter and jelly, what are they thinking?

Speaker 1 (14:26):
All right, it sounds like we've got a mutiny going
on in the AFC. We'll get to that next. It
is The Odd Couple on a trash Talking Tuesday. If
you want to start lining up, you can do that
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

(15:31):
don't don't play your song and they ain't be like
no little Mary, Okay, Mary, Matt Survival might drive some
Laker game with this. All right?

Speaker 4 (15:42):
Uh, We got Andy Kevinisky getting ready to join us
in about five or six minutes.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
We'll talk to NBA with him.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
He is the co host of the Locked On Lakers
podcast with Cambrose He and his brother Brian.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
Looking forward to.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
That right now, Rob Parker, Rob G, Rob G, Well, yeah,
I want to hear what you had to say, Rob G.
Set us how about some Jets players not pleased that
Aaron Rodgers is hit the end of the row like
boys to men, ohthough, weak come and they going to
see him stick around.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
Yeah, you know, we heard before the news broke that
they were gonna move on from him, that they were
multiple players who had publicly said on.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Radio Row on the radio there in New.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
York, we'd love to have Aaron Rodgers back. So when
the news broke that they were officially moving on from him,
their best player all World defensive tackle Quinn Williams just
throw out the thumbs down emoji and that kind of
got people hot and bothered about it. Aaron Glenn was
asked about it, he said, yeah, you know, there's a
lot of people on this team that are upset, But

(16:40):
he said this, I made the cisions best for the team,
and I hope we keep it in house from now on.
But this is not gonna be the first time nor
the last time I'm gonna say to do something that's
gonna have the players upset.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
I'm not surprised, just from the standpoint of and we
talk about it all the time. Who's your option and
if you're a player on the team, it's like, okay, hey,
that sounds good. Okay, so no more Aaron Rodgers. But
who And we've talked about it before too. The numbers
the last ten games or whatever, it was very comparable
with Patrick Mahomes. Except for the difference is Patrick Mahomes

(17:12):
team won fifteen games and Aaron Rodgers team won seven, you.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
Know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Or whatever it was, So you don't look at it
the same way, obviously, because it's all about winning. And
we also had a topic here we talked about as
much as quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Get all the glory or whatever, they also get a
lot of blame.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
And that Jets team, the defense wasn't nearly as good
as it had been the previous two years. They couldn't
run the football. There were a lot of issues there.
And the players are around, they have a better feel
for it and they know. I remember Aaron Rodgers started
his Jets odyssey, which I said was going to end
poorly because just the history of the organization by taking

(17:54):
a massive pay cut, right rob Ge, what was it?
Remember he gave back thirty million dollars or what like
to help the team to get out players. Yeah, so
I'm not I'm not totally surprised because people know if
you don't have a quarterback, you're almost out in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Yeah, I mean it's some players are gonna say, dude,
we're getting rid of our Hall of fame quarterback who
had a solid season in some you know, some instances.
There's some other ones where obviously he wasn't great, thirty
first in the NFL with a forty eight point one
adjusted QBR, tie for twenty first with ninety point five
passer rating, but again, he had twenty eight touchdowns. Also

(18:29):
only threw eleven touch interceptions. So uh, that's a lot
of twenty eight touchdowns a lot. We talked about Matthewtafford's
eight more than Matthew Stafford had, so uh, that's what
people don't realize. He ended up having a solid if
on paper. I just showed you these numbers have Wow,
I'm not thinking was about the same almost, I think
eerily the same.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
I'll pull it up. Yeah, But so I.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Think they're like, man, we especially guys who are in
win mode, win now mode, Right, I'm tired of losing.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
I want to win.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Who you bringing in Zach Woodson and just a rebuild,
its rebuild. I don't have time for that.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
So I absolutely see some players being like, hey man, hey,
you know, I ain't trying to go through all this again.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
It'd be different if they knew who twenty six and eleven.
Look at that, a couple more touchdowns. Aaron Rodgers had
two more, eerily almost the same money yards. I think
a couple hundred more for Patrick.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
That's what the numbers almost the same. Like it's crazy.
So Patrick had twenty six and eleven in era.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
Thirty one more yards. Patrick only had thirty one more
yards and Aaron and Aaron Rodgers had a terrible season
for the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Yeah, so that that's very comfortable, and we were screaming,
you know, that's one of the things we were saying
all year.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
But I did.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
I think some players who are in win Now motor like,
hey man, who you bringing in. I don't want a rookie.
I don't want to start over. I don't want to
have to rebuild two three four year process. It is
the unknown.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
It's like wait a minute, okay, so you have a
Hall of Fame quarterback here. I just want to get
this right. But we don't know who's going to be
the quarterback next season. Okay, which one do you take?

Speaker 4 (19:55):
They didn't say we're letting him go because we're bringing
in Matthew Staffs, Sam Donald something like, all right, I
can see what we're doing here. The forty nine ers
don't want brock Party. We're bringing Kirk Couzin said, get
me out of here, and I don't want to sit
behind Michael Pennick Junior.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Okay, great, we're going to get Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
So for them just sitting right now on February twenty whatever, Well,
they don't know no unknown that I can see that
will bither her, especially in all pro or you know,
a high caliber.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
And then don't forget you also have a rookie head coach.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
Yeah, who's gonna have a you know, probably a curve,
a learning curve, as to be expected with with anybody.
So uh yeah, they need help, a lot of help.
Zach Wilson ended up being the same as Aaron Rodgers
ended up being the same just as all bad and
they got to figure this thing out, all right. We
got Andy Keviniinsky coming up in just a bit. We'll
talk some more Lakers and NBA action with him.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Coming to you live from the tire Rack dot Com Studios.
I Couple, Robert Kelvin, Andy, Kevinisky. I know Sandy doesn't know.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
He just wanted to host other Locked on Lakers podcast Andy,
Andy's my guy, are you parked there? And Rob just said,
are you parking in the free Luca parking lot to
the game today?

Speaker 6 (21:10):
No, I was not in the loop about this Lucas
Lucas free parking.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
No, this is a by the way, this is a
real like yeah, there's a I'm really looking at this ESPN.
He's even put this out. It's the Luca takeover in La.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
The Jumpman Superstar is showing out for the city free
parking and the Luca mobile. It's a I don't know
what this is, a Ferrari or Corvette or something. It's
all Luca out Andy, and somebody bust into my car.
I'm suing because this is Luca Parking.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (21:40):
Well, I mean, Robbie's got about another hour and a
half to park your car. They're in hopes of it
getting burglarized.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
I'll take care of you, Rob, I'll be there.

Speaker 6 (21:48):
Let Calvin handle this segment.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
Yes, well, save me a spot. I'm actually gonna be
out there tonight looking for you.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Going to be there.

Speaker 6 (21:58):
I'm not actually going to be there because right after
the game ends, I got a record lockow Lakers, So
I am excited to watch this thing.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
What do you expect? What do you expect tonight from Luca?

Speaker 6 (22:10):
I give him the commercial. I don't know if you
guys saw it, the Junt Lambs spot that just filmed
with you know, the back of a guy that's supposed
to be Luca and he's got a purple car with
seventy seven and in the background you hear all my
exes live in Texas.

Speaker 10 (22:30):
Based on that.

Speaker 6 (22:31):
Spot, I feel like Luca is looking to go a
little score start.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
Wait, I might have been to Luca mobile you're talking
about in his commercial.

Speaker 6 (22:41):
It could be. It could be.

Speaker 5 (22:42):
It was.

Speaker 6 (22:43):
It was a purple car, like the type of sports
car that I don't even know.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
That's it. That's it.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
That's it all, because like I'll never be able to
afford one of those so why bother learning what it is?
But the all my exes live in Texas. That is
that is very pointed at the team he is about
to face.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
No doubt, when I think about the Mavericks, it couldn't
have been about basketball.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
It's just none of it makes any sense.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
You don't give up a twenty five year old international
star five times All NBA, right, that just doesn't make
any sense. So what is the have you dug in
or found out what was the backstory or what has
been going on in Dallas that would make them afraid
of giving a star player three hundred and fifty million

(23:33):
dollars and essentially to me dumping him.

Speaker 6 (23:38):
All the consistent reporting anybody I have asked it all
keeps coming back to the same thing. They did not
want to give Luca a Supermax deal or even do
what a lot of tools do when they have a
star of Lucas caliber, which is you keep them at
all costs and then if something goes bad, figure it out. Then.

(24:01):
I mean, it is unheard of to have a star
of Luca's caliber, who by all accounts was not looking
to leave Dallas. I mean he was in the process
of buying a second home in Dallas like that is
not the actions of somebody who's thinking about asking for
a trade or you know, Lucas said point blank, the

(24:22):
thought of not signing that super Max never crossed his mind.
The Mavericks, you know, they are messaging or have been
messaging that, you know, concerns about conditioning, concerns about I guess,
dedication to that part of for lack of a better
way of putting it, professionalism.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Yeah, there's got to be something there that they saw
that alarmed them to make that move.

Speaker 6 (24:47):
It's interesting, like Nico Harrison, there was there's a really
interesting profile of him in the athletic that you know,
he's got those ties in Nike, and he was close
to Kobe, and he knew Kobe and new Rock Polinka
because Kobe was a Nike athlete. Rock Plinka was his agent.
And it seems like a lot of the off the
court dedication that Kobe was famous for something that speaks

(25:12):
to Nico Harrison, and the irony is he's trading the
guy that I guess in Nico's eyes, didn't have the
full MoMA mentality to Rob Polinka, who was closer to
Kobe than anybody, and I think in a lot of
ways is considered as the guy running basketball for the Lakers,
kind of the gatekeeper of Kobe's legacy. So you know

(25:35):
there's an irony to all this.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
Yeah, it's I think that's gonna be one of those
things that might be the fuel to get the best
out of Lukas if he was already doing all this
out of shake, What the heck would he do if
you ever were to get in shape? Andy Kamaniski, our
guest co host of the Lockdown Lakers podcast Cam Brothers
on Twitter. Uh So, now we've talked about earlier Lebron
out loud saying hey man, I'm ready to give the

(25:58):
keys to lucas his show. We need him to be
the absolute Dallas Luca and willing to kind of say, hey,
it's your team, now, what are you making that?

Speaker 6 (26:07):
It's not surprising at all. I mean think about Lebron
has given more ball handing responsibilities even in the playoffs
the Austin reeves. If he's going to allow Austin throw
on the offense, and no disrespect to Austin, he's a
really good player. But if he's going to do that
for Austin. He's clearly going to do it for Luca.

(26:28):
And you know, Lebron had been messaging for this season
and some of last year like Anthony Davis is the
focal point of this offense. Lebron has said on the record,
Anthony Davis is the best player on this team. And again,
if he is willing to at least message in some ways,
it's not he's not taking him back to I mean,

(26:48):
Lebron doesn't take a backseat to anybody, but the idea
that somebody else could be the focal point or Rich
Paul and Lebron had both said that the Lakers should
be planning at the time around ab more than around Lebron.
All of this makes sense, like the people that think
this eventually going to get clashed between them, or you know,
Lebron is going to be too upset that he wasn't

(27:09):
in a loop about this strength. I just don't see
it like this is everything Lebron would want. So I'm
not surprised at all.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
What happened against the Hornets in that game that was
the one that still sticks out to me at home
where they attacked Luca.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
What was the issue in that game, is.

Speaker 6 (27:30):
It Dan Turna. Remember is that the one right before
All Star break or coming out of the All Star
I think everybody might have still been a bit on
All Star vacation time. But you know, Luke Luca has
been recovering from a pretty significant path injury and you

(27:51):
know it during during that time, he wasn't able to
do cardiovascular because it's lower extremity. So it doesn't surprise
me that he looked git rusty, a bit slower, you know,
a bit out of shape. You know, it's not it
makes sense. So the idea that he would be targeted

(28:12):
is not surprising because defense has never been Luca's strongest suit.
But he had a few days in between that game
and the one on Saturday against Denver, and Luca looked
like Luca. And the hope is that he is physically, mentally,
spiritually now in a really comfortable place, and that performance

(28:33):
against Denver that's the dress rehearsal for tonight's opening night,
Like in his mind, hey.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Get you autio on this one, Andy, Lakers go how
far this season? Now that they got Luca, they got
Lebron It is ausoree. Where do you see them head
and in the in the Western Conference.

Speaker 6 (28:51):
I don't want to plump the question because that's just
not good radio. But the truth is, like we're working
at such a small sandimple size. We don't know yet
who they are. But I'll say this much. When it
was still Lebron and Ad and the group that Max
Christy basically free trade, I thought the Lakers had the

(29:12):
potential to go one or two rounds, but their margin
for error, as those guys always said, was really small,
like non existing. I think Luca has raised both the
floor and the ceiling for this team, and if the
type of defense they are playing is sustainable, because it
is both exhausting and it's often guys working in certain

(29:36):
matchups undersize if they can maintain that level of defense
with the offensive potential that comes with Lebron and Luca
and Austin Reeves and guys like Ruy Hotch Mora DFS
is shooting. Don't think it's impossible that they could get
to like the Western Conference finals, or maybe even more.

(29:58):
In some ways, Calvin.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
Is so in other words, you don't know.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
I don't think anybody this. This is the craziest thing,
Rob and we rarely get this where there's twenty seven
games less in the season, and we genuinely don't know
who a team is, like not because they've been all
over the place, but because it's so radically different, Like
it's actually it's really fun like to have this sort

(30:23):
of discovery on a game by game basis in real time.
Like I do think they have the potential to make
a playoff run. I just a lot of this is
me just for checking as opposed to going off what
I know, because again, the sample size is so small.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
He is Andy Kevin, ask you, Matt, thank you so much.
Appreciate you man.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
As always, We'll see what happens tonight. Go give him
a follow. He and his brother Cam Brothers on Twitter.

All right, let's get it going. Shawan and Sacramento Shure,
you're on the on Fox Sports Radio. Who you trash
and Sean?

Speaker 11 (31:56):
Yeah, my uncle Robert doesn't. Brother cousin Kelly, my brother
on the board with up Mary Mac. So first I
was gonna come in and trash y'all informing Mary Mac
that your little white was in the building last week
because you know she.

Speaker 6 (32:09):
Had been miracle.

Speaker 11 (32:10):
But I really am on here.

Speaker 12 (32:13):
You on, mister Sophie Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis, you're supposed
to make your debut tonight playing. You're suposed to come
back to the Promised Land for that big old tribute,
be part of the glory, do battle with your ex
team and put up big numbers. But where are you
on the bench in street clothes, proving everybody right about

(32:37):
what you've always been man, mister Glass while look over
here prepaying for parking and becoming.

Speaker 6 (32:43):
The mirror la. You will continue to be the.

Speaker 11 (32:45):
Joke of the league until you prove yourself to be
worthy of the number one pick that was taken.

Speaker 6 (32:49):
For you back in the day.

Speaker 12 (32:51):
We waiting Anthony.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
All right, Josh, what a man is down Sean? He's
sitting there home feeling the back.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Bett Brandon in Riverside, California. You're on the on couple
of Fox Sports Radio. Who you trashing? Brandon?

Speaker 13 (33:06):
Good Fellers is my first trash talk ever. So I'm
gonna trying to make y'all frown right, I'm trashing them.
Uh from Zimbra Nuggets ownership in GM. I watched the
game Saturday because that was the game.

Speaker 8 (33:19):
I really wanted to watch. And yes, we know Yoki
he didn't have a spectaclar game, but he was Okay.
They did exactly what I believe they was gonna do.
They attacked Jamal Murray.

Speaker 13 (33:30):
They made sure he was in pretty much almost every
pick and roll where Luke or Lebron or Austin Reeds.
And again the GMS and ownership let another trade, deadlines
going and you we got the best player in the
world and you don't give them any more help.

Speaker 14 (33:47):
I'm just trashing him.

Speaker 13 (33:48):
If they don't go far, it is because not because
of the players and the coach, is.

Speaker 6 (33:52):
Because of the GM and the ownership. I'm y'all. Talk
to y'all later.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
All right, Ron, well your first time, good job, well
done in Stockton, California. You're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. Who are you? Trash?

Speaker 6 (34:05):
And Ken Rob poker.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Man.

Speaker 10 (34:10):
Every time now expert comes on and talks about the Lakers.
Rob gets a pennies off ten up.

Speaker 13 (34:16):
In a walk.

Speaker 10 (34:17):
He mentions Lebron, Yeah, you can't bet that going to
the NBA finals. But nobody's surprises they go to the
NBA Finals. Come on, Rob, Calvin tells you, and Calvin
tells you, and you still don't listen. This isn't not
nineteen eighty seven.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Hey, how you know I've been covering the leak says, ah,
thank you, we needed it, We almost did. May made
a day without it.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
How about Mace in San Diego. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
Who are you trashing.

Speaker 14 (34:45):
Mace jim Nance for being the league commentator that stupid, boring,
waste of time golf tournament the Temple Beach pro Am.
How do you go from announcing the ANFC Championship game
that stupid mind was boring, pretentious golf tournament. Hate golf
with every microscoptical fiber and my bean, Tell me, Jimbo,
wasn't a free refers to get castrated before you crossed

(35:06):
over to announced that stupid tournament. I've seen more excitement
watching Patter and the Wall. You may as well have
commented on stupid dog and Pony Show. If I had
all the money in the world, I would purchase every
single golf club and golf balls and dump them in
a giant pool of sosphuric acid. Golf courses takeing way
too much space and with trains of gawns of water
to maintain these stupid courses. The water using the stupid
courses could have been used to fight with fires in

(35:26):
Los Angeles here's a suggestion. You usually lead up with
former golfer who bears the stupidest of masculating name ever,
but the Zeller by making only fans videos suitable above
your caliber. The two of you are getting matching butterfly
tramp stamp tattoos, subsequently injecting yourselves with shots and esogen,
subsequently with the two of you playing with.

Speaker 8 (35:43):
Tennant barbe doll.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
My goodness, gracious Mace is back with a vengeance. Man, unbelievable.
When do you think he writes those the day of
the week of.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
In the eighties? I think, Rob g are you try anybody?
How was your service in Hawaii? Anybody? Do you guys wrong?

Speaker 5 (36:05):
No, I'm gonna trash Diana Tarassi wo Today should be
a celebration for her, you know, retiring twenty years of basketball. Instead,
on the way out the door, she took every chance
she could to dump on Kaitlyn Clark, the future and
president of the league. So now she's gonna have this
cloud hanging over in a retirement. That was just the
wrong way to go about, Diana.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
I don't understand why people go out like that. Yeah,
you're gonna go out like this.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
I was gonna go out like that about five years,
all like ten, because not gonna be saying, how dare
you say five?

Speaker 3 (36:37):
What are you doing right there? I've never been a
fan of Kelvin Washington paying me. I get to be
at home as Mason eat all my launch meets. I
want at home.
