a lot to still cover in this final hour of
the program. And the Celtics are up ten to the
Cavaliers in Boston.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
I'll make it twelve. Back and forth. Somehow it became
a back and forth.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
Down, but it's a it's been interesting. I give the Calves.
They were down big and they fought yep. Also, the
Pistons eight game winning streak was eight or nine eight.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
It was eight and it's still I mean, they somehow
made it decent.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
It was getting bad. Get down by twenty now, it
was get down by twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Then the Denver Nuggets knock want to lose a twenty
point lead with nine minutes to go, but anyway, they're losing.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Right now, I'm waiting on my the Lions won't make
the playoffs. The easiest wings I've ever got in my life.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
Right, hey, will give him points? Rob rob g Yeah,
give me some points right now? About what how many points?
It's twenty points right now I'm getting No, I'm not
giving you ten points.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
I'll give you eight points. Ooh, it's tempting. Oh, I
see he.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
Don't want to do that, Hey, you remember this, and
you better be careful talking about the easiest wings ever.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Chris Bussard thought he had a pair of Jordan's. Will
remember that.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
It was the Washington Nationals and the Dodgers and then
and the Dodgers won the first two games.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
And what did he do?
Speaker 5 (02:47):
Rob g He sent us pictures of him inside of
the shoe place picking out the shoes he was going
to get.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Now that was a kiss of death.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
About would you do that? Why would you do that?
The whole series is different, but they were up two. Oh,
it's what I'm saying. Here's my here's my tip for
you guys. Okay, here's my tip. Every Thursday at Rouse
Servants or whatever I think it's, you know, they're the
same store or whatever, they have a you can buy
a whole baked chicken for six dollars every Thursday. It's
(03:23):
not a commercial for them. I'm just telling you because
we are trying.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
To should because I want them to sponsor you, that
you deserve it.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
But today that chicken is like three days worth of
meals for six bucks. You can't beat it. So what
I'll do is one day for dinner, I'll take the
leg the thigh in the wing. I'll put the other leg,
thigh and wing for another dinner the next day. And
(03:51):
then I cut you just saw I had a salad
right with breasts, and then I'll take the breast or
whatever the two breasts, cut them up in the squares
or you know, cut them up for salad, and then
I used them inside the salad. You could actually get
four kind of meals out of one chicken. Here's a
cover covering three or four days.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Not you can. There's five people that live with me. No,
but they can't touch your chicken. Rob G. You can't say,
don't touch rob G. Help this man. You can't touch
my chicken. That's wild. That's wild.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
And on top of that, you're hyping up Von's or
roups or whoever because they got a six dollars once
a week chicken. You can go to Costco any day
of the week for four ninety nine and get a
three pound history.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
Yeah, but you gotta pay one hundred dollars to go
get the disc. Don't like saving money, wrong like saving money.
But I'm just saying, am I right there? It's worth
it's worth it. Go shopping at Costcos. I had a
Costco card. Then the renewal came up and I can't.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I thought it was a free membership. But here's the
other thing, too, rob You know, I'm like what you know?
He was like, wait what how much?
Speaker 6 (04:54):
No, you're not.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Charging my credit card. No.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
The other thing is, dude, like, I'm tired of baked
chicken because I watch you like you eat so much
of it.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
I'm rob G. You feel me.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
I don't want to ever see baked chicken again, hi,
because we need it four out of seven days a week,
maybe five, and.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
You didn't even deny it. You look at me like, well,
I mean, you ain't wrong when you're right, dumb.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
You eat baked chicken so much it's incredible.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
It's better than it's better than fried chicken. Though, first
of all, no, it's not. It's healthier. No, say he
ain't better healthier?
Speaker 6 (05:32):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Fried chicken is better?
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Nagging.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
I can eat fried chicken every day in my life, Kada,
shut up. Anybody thinking of stereotypes.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Don't say that, Rob G. I already know what you.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Because we like fried chicken and we're black, y'all don't
get to bowguard liking fried chicken.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
We didn't make We didn't.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Try to take that stereotype. They try to put it
on us. We didn't land on Plymouth rock. Plymouth Rock
landed on us.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Nag it.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
I still don't understand when people like, criticize, or be
like wat fried chicken and watermelon both are delicious.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Listen, I have no disagreement made a single race. Who
does not like chicken? It wouldn't know who would like watermelon?
My god, I can't say anything. I don't like watermelon.
Speaker 7 (06:15):
What I like quite hate it since I was a kid.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
I hate it, sweet watermelon. It's not on my like
I don't think about it.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
But you're not going to take a PiZZ of water.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
It's just not on my like list until you, like
you said, somebody cuts some mind. I tried it and
I was like, the most disgusting thing ever? Did you say?
I tried, like you've tried watermelon?
Speaker 7 (06:36):
Tried it one time because I went like, I went
super long time hating it, and then I was like,
now let me try it.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
I didn't like it. Wow, you were five.
Speaker 7 (06:45):
And I also don't any any melons. Candalo, honey, I
will give you the melons.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Water If water was like something you could eat. That
was we with water.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
It's honey dew is just just disgusting, all right, Rob
g News of the day, Let's get there, joelmb oh. Boy,
the Sixers haven't made an announcement about his future.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Yeah, unfortunately, it's what we all expect. The guys talked
about earlier in the week that it was not looking good.
Joe l embiid medical professionals were considering radical procedure. We
talked about one of them, including breaking a bone to
alleviate the pressure on his ligament in his knee. Well,
the Sixers made it official today. They are shutting him
down for the rest of the regular season as the
(07:27):
team continues to search for a long term solution to
help that left need. It's given him all kinds of
problems this year the Philadelphia seventy six Ers, though it
should be noted, it actually benefits them. They keep losing
because they owe a pick to Okay, see, it's top
six protected and right now as things stand, in the
middle of their nine game loten streak have exactly this
(07:47):
sixth worst record in the NBA, SO and beat out
Sixers continue to free fall.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
The rest is history, all right, Kelvin, here we go. Yeah,
here's my plan.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
If I'm the soon to be fire GM of the
seventy six ers. Okay, well, because you heard the rumors, right,
who is that Bob Myers is now being rumored to
go there? Darryl Morriy, Yes, that's what this talk is
a scuttle but I don't know who's process didn't work
all right? But anyway, my point is, get this guy healthy,
(08:18):
one hundred percent healthy. Get this guy back out there
on the court, let him play well, and by this
time next year you've traded him. Because you can't trade
him now, beat up or whatever, because you're gonna get
ten cents on the dollar. I need to get it
up to about eighty five cents on the doll I
don't think you're gonna get that rock six seventy on
(08:40):
the dollar. I could get it up there. My point
is get him healthy, get him back. Hey, he's fully healthy. Now,
I had the surgery. He's just played fifty five games
in a row or whatever, you know, played a lot.
He's got to play, show people that maybe he finally
turned the corner. He's healthy, and then boom, what do
you want and make a trade That's what I would do.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
The problem with Joelle Joel Embiide is that he came
into the league hurt.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Rob. He didn't play the first year and a half.
Two years he has played, he has won an MVP though.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Well, No, No, he healthy, ninety whatever percent he can
be healthy him is amazing. He has played four hundred
and fifty two games. I believe in his career. You
know what, He's missed four hundred and thirty one. So
for pretty much every game he plays, he's set to
miss the next game. And that is just I can't
(09:34):
go on with that. As as the organization is eventy
six ers and I'm not so sure I want that either.
Rob as the team that you're trying to get, you know,
seventy five cents on a dollar before, But.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
There are plenty of teams that need a more key player,
but I need a market player to play.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
No, I'm saying you gotta get him fully healthy back out.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
On the court.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I'm talking or optimistic. I am being optimist. I am
shocked that you're optimsisting right now, but I'm.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
Saying you gotta get him well because now that they'
shut him dow, they're gonna take the surgery, do what
they have to do, and get her tonight.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
And look look at look at.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
Kawhi Leonard and how long he's been dealing with this
and he's still he's playing tonight.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
He's one of them. He's not gonna play a game
for two weeks. This is my thing.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
I keep telling you, what's one of the things you
always go to average professional sports? I said, one of
the things, not the thing that is the thing you
go to. We always talk about the average sports careers.
You know, NFL NBA about around three three and a
half years is the NFL, yep, three.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
And a half years.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
And a lot of that isn't because you suck as
a player or you're just bad. A lot of it
also it's just injuries and you just it just doesn't
work out, and it's just you're you're too injured and you.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Gotta move on with life.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
And my thing is Joel Embiid is not guaranteed he's
gonna play twelve fifteen years. Kawhi Leonard is not guaranteed.
At some point I get the math is like it
looks the opposite that they're not gonna play anymore, You
know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Like I can't depend on Kawhi. I haven't been able
to for six years.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
But my point is when you have a talent and
someone who's won an MVP, there's always gonna be a
market for somebody who's going to take a chance. You
really think yes, because there's so many bad teams who
need somebody who has a name, and maybe hey, we'll
give them a fresh start.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Maybe this is all behind them.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Maybe we'll do this, you know, like they're always you know,
like they always say, you can't trade Bradley Beal. Ain't
nobody gonna take Nobody's gonna take that contract?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Who's gonna take that?
Speaker 6 (11:33):
Right?
Speaker 4 (11:33):
There are the players who are like that where you
go what nobody? Nobody will ever take that contract? I'll
ever trade for that person. I'm just saying, because there
are twelve or fifteen teams that that don't have anything.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Your charlotte or you're I'll give up somebody young.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
Maybe we could get it, uh you know, yeah for
some sell some tickets and maybe we catch lightning in a.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Bottle of that.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Lower the number, Rod Parker, I'm just saying it is
now out forty five cents on the dollar.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
I am Bob Barker.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Black Barker, Okay, Black Bob Barker, I got the skinny
mic and all mind your business.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
And that's what I'm giving you. Forty five cents of
a dollar.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
If you're giving me a junior high school black Bob Barker, No,
Bob Barker, Okay, Yeah, I can see that, Rob Parker,
Bob Robert bobbe Okay, I see that.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
But I'm not giving you more than that because I
have to wait another year, year and a half till
he's back.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
And no, he'll be thirty thirty one. What are you
talking about. I'm talking about next year.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Right, But he might not be back for quite some
times with him like it's like he's coming back, right.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
No, he's coming back, Rob g Right, he'll be back.
They still don't know what they're gonna do. That's the problem.
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Remember they said they're still that surgery where they might
break his leg and redo tendons and stuff.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
I'm saying to you, if if you can get him
back on the court, right, just the most optimistic I've
ever seen you in my life. I'm an optimistic guy.
Get him back on the court. I'm not a doom
sayer as everybody thinks.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Not right now, this moment you are.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
You must have had your baked chicken today got you
feeling all types of friendly on this Friday.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
I'm feeling good, joellenbiid has.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
We have seen the not even like, oh, the best
of them, but he's you know, still really good.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
We have seen it's a rap.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
And I've been saying the same thing to you about
Kawhi and you get mad when I said.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Kawhi's playing tonight and he might not play again until April.
That's just where we are. He might play and they
might not want what I tell you today.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Rob Gi, when he was absolutely healthy, he was top
three player period. Kawhi Leonard might have been the one,
you know how they said the phrase he might have
been top three, not to three or the two that
was him. But now I can't depend on that just
keeps happening, So I don't.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
I can't run a business or franchise or organization hoping
and wishing maybe that the guys who have perennially perennially
been injured aren't injured.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Priston's only down by nineteen. You want to take the
bet now, No, I don't trust they want to they tired?
Speaker 4 (13:55):
Okay, all right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
ain't seven seven sixty three sixty nine. I tried to
give him ten points. He wouldn't take it. Should the
sixers look to get out of the Joel and My business.
We'll continue the conversation next with you. It is the

Speaker 2 (15:17):
I feel like it might be coming to a close.
I don't know, what do you do? You move on?
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Who wants to trade for him? He can't stay healthy.
Rob is saying he can get eighty cent on the
dollar with the trade. I don't see that happening at all.
I said, at least seventy five percent.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Hey this, uh Celtics, Uh, we got a game, this
game right here, Celtics Cavs.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
They were down how much? What was the starters? It
was at one point?
Speaker 1 (15:40):
I think it was like twenty six to three, twenty
five to three.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
It is now ninety six ninety three.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Boston and chance to be down one here the Cavaliers
up the ball right holding his knee.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
But uh, unbelievable. All right, we got eight steps seven

Speaker 4 (15:55):

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah, big Louther Carol. Never right, it ain't quite right?
Yeah never really? Sorry? What's you guys?
Speaker 6 (16:27):

Speaker 8 (16:28):
That's the loops that I need. But in terms of
seventy six, is now is the time?
Speaker 6 (16:32):
Okay?
Speaker 8 (16:32):
You need to step back because real trades happening sounds.
We don't need any of this stuff out in social media.
But do like Jerry West did, take a big step back,
build this team around Tyreek's MAXI, He's your future, and
start planning for joellen Beat's next destination. Because we've seen
this movie too many times. We just know where it's
going to go.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
All right.
Speaker 8 (16:50):
So Joellen Be not thinking his career is over, but
this iteration in Philadelphia for the city, for him, it's
time to park company.
Speaker 6 (16:56):
So let him sit for the season.
Speaker 8 (16:58):
Don't be out there out front, you know, kind of
putting your foot in your mouth, but start to play
something in the summer, maybe something going forward to next year.
It's Tyree's Maxi team. It's time for a new day
in films.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Thanks taking a call, no doubt, thank you.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Oh my man, it's our man Mark from Sacramento.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Mark?
Speaker 6 (17:17):
What's going on? Mister Park? How you doing, mister Washington?
Arg you today?
Speaker 2 (17:20):
What's up? Mark? We're good? Hey, Mark?
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Before you give us a take on Joel embiid, I
know you got you got a book coming out.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Can you tell us about it?
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Nice?
Speaker 6 (17:31):
I do? I do. Being a elder African American male,
I decided to write a book about what African American
mails see about what's going on in our community and
in our family structure. And the name of the book
is called Toxic Feminism in the Black Sisterhood, Okay, And
(17:51):
it starts with feminism when it began coming into the
civil rights movement and where we're feminism and forded the
the black woman voice all the way into today's politics,
but at the expense of the structure of the black family,
missing the father. That is what I always which is
(18:11):
what I always preach. So it's about it's about that,
and that's basically look at us as people, how.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Can people how can people get it Mark? Before we
get to the NBA tech real quick.
Speaker 6 (18:20):
It's out. It's out right now on Amazon and didn't
and uh, you know you can pick it up now.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Just don't buy it today, Tomorrow you can buy it.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
Okay, just don't buy it.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Thanks all right, No tell us about it? Hey, thanks? Mark.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
We know Mark used to call the show all the
time and hadn't been calling, not because we made a
change in the show. He was busy working on his book,
so I know that he was working on something. And
I'm glad you were still listening, but you just couldn't
call right Mark.
Speaker 6 (18:53):
That's exactly it. And I appreciate you your presence, you know,
in the communication and your encouragement. You always encourage black men.
Eld elder ones told you encourage me. So I appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
No doubt. So what should they do with him Bed?
What was the story here, Mark?
Speaker 6 (19:06):
I thought they should have First of all, I thought
they should have pulled the plug on him bed two
months ago. That guy has been limping since it was
the middle of last year. Ten days after he scored
seven ten days after he scored seventy one points, he
went down and it's never looked the same. He's been
limping around the court, dragging that leg even to the
dragging it. I can't understand why they're doing this. And
(19:28):
then they gave him a five year contract extension, so
not to stuck with him. They can't give rid of him.
Nobody's gonna take that five year extension, Rob, That's.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
What I'm trying to tell Rob. I just I mean,
he's not gonna have to give up.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
There's always bad gms out there.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Then they're gonna get I mean, the Sons took Bradley
Beal's contract.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
I'm just saying, I agree.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
Yeah, but bright Bradley Beal is not getting hurt every year.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
No, I know, but you got I agree with that.
But I'm just saying. People thought that that was an
untradeable contract. Would you agree with that?
Speaker 6 (20:01):
It was not. It's not the contract is watching the player.
He just doesn't look like he's getting to bed. He's
getting old. He's thirty.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Run now, yeah, he's just that Olympic run.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
I mean, I hope he really enjoys the good luck
with the bull. Yeah for sure, good luck brother. Yeah,
I'm just that Olympic run. He got a gold medal
that but you know that didn't help him in the
rehab at all.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
We know it all right, Brandon in Riverside, California. You're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up beat?
Speaker 6 (20:28):
So good?
Speaker 9 (20:28):
Good?
Speaker 10 (20:29):
What's going on with y'all?
Speaker 6 (20:31):
Is good?
Speaker 9 (20:32):
Yes, Friday, Yeah, so I kind.
Speaker 10 (20:34):
Of signed with both of you on You're right Rob
where there's somebody that will trade, yes, But the other
problem is what would the Sixers want for him? And
that's going to be the problem. So it's like like
how many pigs, Like they might want a first round
and everything else, and he's not not to say he's
(20:57):
not worth that, but after the injuries of him building
up through the years, he's not really worse. I guess that,
you know, first round picks and other for other people
in the team, because I know we're doing them doing
this past straight deadline, his name came up, but I
(21:18):
think they just wanted a lot for him. Uh, he
could be traded, but at the same time, like callash it.
Who wants it? Because his body is literally shutting down
in front of my eyes.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Hey, Brandon Kwi Brendan, you know, Brandy, you know what
I think didn't help this either. The Mavericks trading for
Anthony Davis, who we all know parendally had been heard
and we knew he's always banged up street clothes. And
the first game he gets hurt, and I think this
will make them say, you know, why would I trade
for Joel Andbi who's constantly hurt only play four hundred
and fifty two But he's not played four hundred and
(21:52):
thirty one games.
Speaker 9 (21:53):
So I just I remember, but remember now real quick
that that trade with Luca and Ethy Davis had nothing
to do with that basketball, right, that was something else.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
That's not about Oh that's not a basketball tray. I
agree that, just like that don't make no sense. Now,
when I saw Michael Finley take that beer, looka wasn't.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
That was after That was after they won and we're
going for what's a comment finals, and they were going
to the finals like you supposed to celebrate, right.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
They took that beer.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Mike Nailey was not he won seventeen years old or something.
He wasn't laughing, he was dead serious. All right, we
have a conversation. Listen, Fubody sticking in LA. We'll tell
you about that in just a bit, but right now
we got to get you cent on what's trending, and
that is our man, Steve the Seger.
Speaker 3 (22:37):

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Coming to you live from the Tirack dot com studios. Uh,
Rob Kelvin O couple hanging out with you for a
little bit longer. Hopefully been having a great start to
the weekend. That is, we talked to a little bit.
I think it was with Will Blackman. We talked about
Matthew Stafford returning to the Rams where they were able
to finally gonna restructure and get a deal for him.
(23:10):
You know, there have been rumors that maybe he would
go to the Giants where he has a brother in law,
maybe the Raiders. Tom Brady has been trying to woo
him and things of that nature. So ends up being there.
I said, I've said it this week. I just thought
it makes sense for both parties because number one, you've
had a lot of success together. You're five and two
in the postseason, including the Super Bowl win. You looked
(23:30):
good this year in the postseason outside of you know
this crazy story by a year though, right, he but
he a lot of injuries, Cooper's out poking the coolers out,
guys coming back in and out, and they were able
to get to the game against the Eagles, and that's
a round have a chance to go to the NFC
Championship game.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
I don't want to break that up.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
Yeah, but I mean when you say that, they still
they were right there on the twenty something yard line
and didn't get it done.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
But what I'm saying, why don't I want to break
that up? That's my I'm agreem. It's not that they
wanted to break it.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
They didn't want to pay him what he He left
money on the table before, right, and he's trying to
recoup it later on in his career. That's the mistake.
That's when you give a team a hometown discount and
all that. It's a bad idea. If I'm an agent,
I use Matthew Stafford as exhibit a.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
On what not to do.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Yeah, I don't disagree.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
I do agree that he jammed himself up by I'm
not taking what he should have when he was at
the top of his game coming off a super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
That's when you take the money.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Not when you're thirty seven years old and you have
twenty touchdowns and eight interceptions and go through a stretch
of four or five games where they couldn't score offense,
couldn't score touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah, but then you start to look at again and
we've done this, you know, throughout the week. But you
just look at the money and you look at the
you know, guys, we don't know what he got, right,
We don't know yet. Do you know why?
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Because Matthew Stafford, I'm sure is not doesn't want it
to be public because tight doesn't want it to be public,
because you know what I mean, he was looking for
something because he had to come in d and it's
probably thirty forty two range or something. And it makes
you feel like, oh, I came back humbled and I
had to take less money come back.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
But also that's why that's why you haven't heard or not.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
That's true, And I don't disagree, but I think for me,
if I was looking at from the rams, okay, if
you feel, oh, we gotta move on, you know, it's
like a guy of the caliber you would want because
at this point Sean McVay is really only trying to
complete four championships. You're gonna be paying forty five to
fifty five million, like you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Like, no guy, Yeah, but it says that they don't
value him at that And that's what I'm trying to say.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
I heard what you're saying. But if that was the case,
this would have never happened.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
It would have just said, oh what, Matthew Stafford, Yeah,
we got to give you a contract and you'll be back,
and they would have just would have not parade around
and be entertain other offers.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Why would they do that if they really at the number?
Speaker 1 (25:45):
And that's the part I don't understand, knowing there's not
a great group of quarterbacks that are available, right they
like the guys who are good ain't going to where
Josh Allen ain't going nowhere. Lamar Jackson isn't going to
where Patrick Mahomes, you know, Joe Burrow, like the guys
that you would say are better than him, they're not
going anymore where. So that just didn't make sense to
me from the jump. But again, this is the business end.
This is the same team that got rid of Jared
(26:05):
Goff because they felt like, who just got the new
super Bowl? Like we could do better. So this is
just kind of how they operate. They want to see
where we can squeeze, say a dollar, make some moves.
They also don't mind hiring hitman for hire. Go get obj,
go get von Miller, you know what I mean. Like,
we're just trying to win right now. So they've done
that before as well. But this, to me, this just
makes sense. You got you know each other, you know,
(26:27):
you got it. He's just got a home here, he's
established here. You've been able to have some success with him. Yeah,
but the won because they got him to come back
for a lesser price. Yeah that was lesser than what
was out there, all right, but that's what I'm saying.
That was his more than twenty seven million. Yeah that's
still but they still got him to take less. And
that was the point, is that other teams offer them more.
(26:47):
Rob g what was the number with the Giants and
the Raiders right fifty.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
It was reported that they had multi year deals, which
they did a two year deals with between ninety and
one hundred million gear in tease. I didn't say that
the deal wouldn't be like two for one point fifteen.
But the guarantee guaranteed, right, Yeah, And according to NFL
network ESPN, whatever deal they've agreed to is lower than
that guarantee, right.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
And that's all I'm saying is that that's what the
Rams will. Let's say, let's say not less funny, they
wont him u less. Let's say it's at two eighty
you know, two years eighty million. He got forty you
know a year. I mean, he's happy.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
I'm not going in this season getting less than what
I believe and now still getting short change compared to
who the heck else is making this But that's on him,
But it is on him.
Speaker 4 (27:31):
He too real quick, this beat down, that was not
the beatdown anymore. The Celtics now they're down, Cleveland is
up one eleven, one oh six. It's still six forty
to go, a long way to go. But is this
not impressed by the Cavaliers. They can lose, and they
could lose tonight and I still would be impressed. Like
they should have been buried. This is not all night.
(27:51):
They got stomped on right out of the gate twenty
five to three. And you know why, just watching the game.
They're hitting big shots they're hitting threes.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
Evan Mobley would got that offensive rebounds killing them down low,
and they're getting in the paint between Garland and U Mick. Uh,
what am I trying to say? Mitchell Donovan Mitchell. So like,
my point is they're mixing it up. The Celtics. They
just keep shooting threes. Literally, just keep shooting threes, keep
shooting threes, keep gett shooting. I'm like, man, this is
where people are critical the NBA, and Lebron gets a
(28:20):
litt upset about it because dude, I'm watching this game,
you and I both and they're getting into paint, mixing
it up all right, Last call, lot of topics tonight,
lot of stuff we got to maybe you couldn't get in.
This is your chance eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
I'll just say it for you.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
John.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
You John, and that's.
Speaker 6 (29:37):
John and Nashville.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
You're on the odd couple of Boxports Radio. I was
selling you're so into this game, looking for your glass.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
I'm so into this Celtics Cavs game is one fourteen
one ten or one fourteen one, twelve calves, but uh,
you know the calves were down twenty five to three,
so it's amazing. All Right, John, what do you got?
You're the last call on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 11 (30:01):
Well, fellas, I appreciate you having me in.
Speaker 9 (30:03):
I'm going to win a to you.
Speaker 11 (30:04):
I guess you're lean a little bit towards football. I'm
just going to throw a hypothetical Travis Hunter draft situation
at you and just get your perspective. And I'm from Nashville,
so I'm going to hypothetically say that the Tendency Titans
draft Travis Hunter number one overall and he turns out
(30:25):
to be the number one receiver and the number one
DV in the league. And Week two, this man that
is holding two positions goes down with an injury. If
you're Brian Callahan or Mike burganzhi, you've got this guy
that is elite at two positions that goes down, and
(30:46):
now you have two high level positions to feel. How
do you handle that? How do you build your loster
around that? I just want to know your your thoughts
and what you guys would do if you're the GM
and coach, and I'll hang up and listen. I really
appreciate you guys.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Thank you appreciate it. I get it.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
But when you say playing two positions, guess what. He
didn't get hurt playing both positions. He got hurt playing
one position.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
So you can get hurt like like like that's the excuse.
You know what I mean? And I get it.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
You're out there twice as much, so there's two chances
of you know what I mean, instead of one play
or four plays, you got eight plays. There's more of
a chance of you getting hurt. But you could get
hurt on any any kind of situation. I get, I
get why people would not want to chance your top
player and having them, but I remember, I'll never forget
(31:44):
with the Giants, do you remember Jason Sehorn was a
tv TV, one of the few white they for.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
A while, he was like the last white DV for
like a long time.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
Yeah, but I remember when the Giants put him in
on kickoff return, rob g do you remember this, and
like the first kickoff, guess.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
What tore up his knee? Yep like like and and
then so you got to always ask yourself, why were
you doing that with him? Blah blah blah. But in
this case, he's so special.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
I think I would just want to see and if
even if it was for a couple of games, and
I really can, I just see, And if it's too
much and you go, oh, you know what, this is
just too much and he's tired or he's not as
good at his other position because he's so worn out
or something, then I would buy him.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
But I want to see, And I think, to me,
I'm looking at it from a bigger organizational standpoint. If
you're the Titans, I want to put some seats in
the butt, right. I want to sell some season tickets,
and I want to sell the allure two way player.
I want to sell the allure. I want to sell
that we never know what's going to happen. This might
you know, is he the next bow?
Speaker 6 (32:49):
Nos?
Speaker 4 (32:49):
Is he?
Speaker 2 (32:49):
Deon said, I want to sell that. And then we
get out there. We figured it out, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
We have him on ten set plays, we throw a
bubble screen a couple of times, we you know, have
him a little quick slot Rowty returns a kick or two,
and that be that. No body saying he has to
line up as the the X receiver every single play.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
N It's just you get him out there.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
You get him in a few tricks, play you the
little wide receiver reverse and you enjoy, you know, you
enjoy what he's able to do. And that's to do me,
the the allure, the fun. And he ain't doing this
for years. He literally can't do this for years. But
you find a way to do it for a little bit,
have some fun. Then he levels out. Then you say,
all right, he is now officially a dB. He's now
officially a slot receiver or that, and that's pretty much it.
(33:33):
But give it a little fun for me. To me,
I'm an running out have a little fun when it.
Give him some plays, sell tickets, sell merchandise, you know
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Sell this thing.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Get some Nike commercials all day. Are we gonna we
gonna have some fun with it for a little bit.
To me, I'm selling the mystery. That might be the campaign?
What's he gonna do?
Speaker 2 (33:50):
What position? When he played? That might be the campaign?
We do all? Will he play them both? Yep?
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Big shot right there? One one one fortunate that one.
Coach of the year tonight. I just want you to
know that, remember I told you.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
That, Yeah, well we'll have to see Detroit might have
something to just I'm just saying, all right, Remember I
told you that I enjoy, We enjoy, enjoy you to
enjoy your date tonight, because you got all your good
clothes on tonight.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
You're going somewhere
