Speaker 2 (01:32):
Uh, but let's go here, like okay, so Lebron James, right,
that's where we're going.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
And last night.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
He kind of blamed the media right for the guys wanting,
uh who wants to be the face and this whole thing.
He's kind of blaming the guy, especially on TNT, right. Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
They specifically asked him about Ant, and Ants replied, I
don't want it.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
He said, I don't blame him, And this is what
he said right here.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
I mean, it's unfortunate, but like, I don't know, when
why do you want to be the face of a
league when all the all the put all the people
that you know that cover our game and talk about
our game or the day to day basic on everybody,
I mean had that responsibility. That's it's just weird. It's
weird energy from the people that.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
You know.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
I don't know, but changing he said it, he said
it perfectly. Couldn't set it no better, but and said
he don't want it. I didn't. I mean, obviously I
didn't ask for it, but I knew there was a
responsibility for me not only to my family, my friends,
my community, and and and whoever that was gonna follow
my my my journey throughout my career, not only know

(02:43):
Ohio when I started there, but all all over America
and all over the world when I traveled all over
the world. So I've always taken that seriously and understand
and understood from the beginning what what being a professional
was all about, and being a role model was all about.
So try to hold down with the utmost respect and honor.

(03:04):
And but I feel I understand, not completely understanding. This
is weird energy when it comes to that.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I gotta say this because I think Lebron a lot
of these guys are just they're so phony and fake.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
And I'm gonna tell you why.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
First it was you guys, us writers report, you guys
didn't play in the league, blah blah blah blah. You right,
it was the pushback that we didn't play in the league.
Now you got all the guys sitting up on the
deck are all former players, all their own right, and
it's still ain't right. Still weird? Still, what what one is?

Speaker 1 (03:44):
It?

Speaker 2 (03:44):
It's not It has nothing to do with that. It's
just that you don't want to be criticized. And that's
what I can't get over with today's athletes. I'm dead serious,
because which one is it? Is it that we didn't
play in the league? Or is it that uh Chuck
and Kenny and Shaq all haters and they didn't do

(04:05):
anything in the league. They didn't win anything, they didn't
win any awards. Their opinion doesn't matter. I don't get it.
I'm dead serious. I think Lebron is mixing up a
couple of things. Are there with the advent of social
media more trolls? Absolutely, that happens for me and you.
People just troll you, right, Rob Jiggiz trolls? Are there more?

Speaker 1 (04:29):
He deserves it because some of the stuff I'm just saying, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Are there more blogs and vlogs and podcasts? Yes? Do
you listen to them too much, Lebron and others? Yes?
Do you allow that to consume you? Yes?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Are you going to the point where you have to
go zero dark thirty because you're it's so involved in it?

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Are you interacting with burner accounts Kevin Durant, Yes, so
I absolutely do agree that there's a lot of negative
conversations because there are so many more things out there. However,
when I actually really watch real basketball publications and shows,
for the most part, they're just talking about the game
last night. They're talking about how this player is really

(05:11):
good and this team should do this, and while the
Luca Tray was great for the Lakers, and maybe this
is good in the short term for the Mavericks. Kenny
Smith's been doing this for twenty five thirty years. Kenny's
I would there's nothing about Kenny Smith or whatever equate
to a hater. Does Chuck have a personality where yes,
he goes seber he has to say something I don't
think it's fine, he's terrible. Yes, he's gonna do that

(05:31):
from time to time, and a shot gonna be a
old hater at times, Yes, because everybody ain't like me
putting up shock like numbers, but like to just lump
all of basketball media when to me, it's not like
that at all. That I think is there's something to it,
and that eliminates the idea that we actually, to your point,
can't see and dislike something. I'm watching this Celtic game

(05:53):
right now, they look good. They're up thirty to twenty,
thirty two to twenty, rob G do me a favor.
They were on fire. But what did I say about
the style of play? What did I say, you don't
like it? I said, I'm just not a fan of
all the threes. That's just an opinion. They look good,
they're winning, they're up twelve. But that's just the way.
And so people can watch the game and not necessarily
have to enjoy every single thing they love about it.

(06:15):
I love the NBA favorite sport, not going anywhere. I'm
beating here to the end. But the idea that people
can't critique it, that it can't be in a funk
a little low baseball, that's your favorite sport? Was baseball
not in the low for a little bit? Yeah, people
beat up baseball and then it comes back. So to me,
things are cyclical. There's evthing flows, and yes, there's more
blogs and social media and trolls.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
I will give you that. I will concede that point.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
And just like that, Cleveland's cut it to nine and
Boston have what fourteen threes already.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
But that is a great example.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
So let's say this game keeps going at this tick
and they go to halftime and Boston's only up two.
Is it not fair that I don't know who's on
the countdo? I saw steven A. Smith, but I think
Cheney of goomakay, Like they can't say, man, I just
don't like the way Boston's playing are shooting too many threes?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Is that not a fair point?

Speaker 5 (07:02):
Right?

Speaker 1 (07:02):
But but that's the issue, is that nothing. You can't
say anything negative. They expect you to be raw raw.
This is not the.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Lakers local broadcast. I'm dead serious and James Worthy the
only reason, the only reason, the only reason I listen.
I'm dead serious. I tune in because I want to
hear what James Worthy says. I never feel like he's
like a company man. I really don't. When they play well,

(07:31):
James is all about the Lakers. When they don't play well,
he'll spell out his head they look bad.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
That was like that. Yeah, So Steven A.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Smith had a couple of shots at Lebron during the
broadcast the countdown prior to the game. He talked about Lebron.
You know, he said you didn't do the dunk contest
and he said you took you didn't even do the
all Star Game this year, so he took a few shots.
Lebron said this on Twitter right after literally like a
half hour ago, like he was watching this. You know,
they got a game tonight. But here we go. He's

(08:02):
watching the shows and he's comedy. What did he say, right, Oh,
he said a lot.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
Let me read it to you, he said, y'all exactly
made my point. But anyways, happy this conversation has started.
It's not about face of the game, and it ain't
about one person to one show. It's about the culture
of basketball. The most beautiful game in the world. Our
game has never been better. Incredible young stars from all
over the world and some older ones.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
First of all, there's another point right there that many
of proven people, writers but and all players will say
the game has been better. The aesthetics people will absolutely
like right there. You know, Labron Brons, my guy, I
disagree the gameplay has been better before.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Are you asking me that say it's never been better?
It's just not true.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Are there are there the eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve
men on the team more skilled than maybe in the eighties.
I'll give you that, but I don't necessarily think the
team basketball is better.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
I don't necessarily agree with that, but content.

Speaker 7 (08:54):
He says, Steph Curry should beat all we are talking
about today. Or let's discuss how great Okac and the
Cavs have been this season with two completely different styles
and break down why and how they got here. Of course,
if players don't perform, we need to discuss that too
and break it down. But even that can be discussed
in a way that's not to bring finality to the
players game, but to leave room to see how that

(09:15):
player responds, and let's watch the journey of that player.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
This ain't about me either.

Speaker 7 (09:20):
At this point, I don't really care what's said about me,
because it's always something. This is about the impact that
negativity is having an our beautiful game and our fans.
I know I speak for a lot of players and
more importantly, a lot of great fans around the world.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
I don't I think he's intertwining and mixing up. And
this is the part I will again, I will conceive
the point. There's barstools, there's this, there's ESPN, there's Fox
Sports Radio, there's a and I do think there's more
of that than ever where that if you are consumed
with it, it could feel unavoidable. Right you open your

(09:54):
there's how many I mean, how many basketball blogs, Rob
Gi are there?

Speaker 1 (09:57):
On see let's see here, here's where.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
But I don't think that's the broader media like the
real mets, is what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
But that's I hear that, But that's not it.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Lebron doesn't want to be criticized, and that that's where
we are.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
You. They want they want.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Athletes to cover athletes, okay, and then when the athletes
don't go along with it and and on doing thats okay,
Now they're haters.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
So how do you which one is it?

Speaker 2 (10:23):
He's played out there, he's been in the NBA, he
knows what it takes. And he's telling you that's a
bad play or you're not playing well, or you're not
hustling or whatever. Now there's a problem when Skip Bayless
or me or Chris Bussard or whatever, we didn't play
at that level.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
This is what I'm trying to say.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
The biggest thing is, yeah, they want athletes to cover
each other, but they want them to cover for each other.
That's that's what he's saying. Oh, well, if somebody doesn't play,
you can discuss that. But then it should be a
how you can gee, did you see him.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Find? No he got a point though? No he doesn't,
Yes he does. No he doesn't.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Cause because because I've been I've lived it. It was
used to be that we didn't know. And now why
because a player says and I'm not saying that everything
a player says it's right. I got issues with players
being covering each other because I think that there is
some jealousy and and some other things that that writers.
Because I brought this up to you a million times,

(11:29):
and I think it's a mistake when players cover each other.
When one hundred and fifty or one hundred and thirty
players don't vote for Lebron James to be an All
Star Game.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
That there's something there. Okay, that's telling you all you
need to know.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Okay, ain't no way that writers would have not one
hundred and thirty writers would have not voted for Lebron.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
I'm dead serious. I don't care what interaction.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
So I think that there's a there's a rub now
because some athletes push back and and he's complaining about
uh inside the NBA.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
But it's a most popular.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Show, rob Gee, I want to hear what you you
were saying the point, yeah, rings culture a role.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Now that's ruined the discussion.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
You heard me say that is my number one thing
we became when I was coming up loving hoop. My
favorite player could have been one of them was Regi Miller.
Regie Miller ain't got ring the first and you buy
the all reds. I like Clyde Drexler, Bravey or Jordan,
but like it didn't come down to the rings per se.
That was not that k That's a much later conversation
that I always say is the biggest compliment to Kobe Bryant.

(12:33):
But it's his fault in that. But he was the
first person we actually went could he be better than Jordan?
Like you actually thought that, like, oh shoot, could.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
He be better than Dark?

Speaker 4 (12:40):
And you had to start, well, no, because Jordan got six, well,
he got five, well, he he never lost, and he
started to do that, and then it turned to.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Could Lebron be better than Kobe? Could he be doing well?

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Now to Kobe's got fight bro I didn't even have one, Okay,
didn't got one well, and he had to go to
a different team, and then you got Kevin Durant. They're
never gonna let me find a go so I gotta
go to another team. I gotta go to the Warriors,
and I can get a rind that has ruled. That
is a massive part to me, the ring chasing and
that being the end all be all. Is that part
If he would have said that, I would have been
all in on.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
That to me. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (13:10):
And I think one thing that Lebron unfortunately does not
understand in this situation, and maybe it's because he's only
ever been an athlete. He's never you know, gone to
school or study this kind of thing or worked in
this business before, is as much as people want to
be reporters and they want to be objective things of
that nature. What is going on on ESPN Countdown and

(13:33):
Undisputed or you know, Rest in Peace First Take, it's
entertainment and they're not here to break down the game
the way that he is, right like, that's not what people,
the casual sports fan wants to see.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
They're not interested in.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
There are hundreds of podcasts that I enjoy listening to,
and I follow these guys on social media that will
break down the x's and o's of a play, why
this happened, why it didn't happen. There's guys who are
our former NFL quarterback who will draw up and diagram
a play exactly as to why worked the did not work,
And those guys are not gonna get the same amount
of traction as I'm gonna give you a great example,

(14:10):
some kind of a conversation about a big picture thing when.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
He talks to somebody who calls who calls games and
also is one of the bigger faces that he is being.
Tim Legler great, great analysis, breaks it down. But the
reason why he hasn't pop pup pop pop pop is
because he just breaks it down.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
He says you great.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
Inside, he's awesome. It is awesome. I am a big
fan of Tim Legler. He is great at that. But
to your point, people want animation, people want controversy, or
people want a little bit or they want a little
sauce to it. You know, Tim's just gonna give it
to you as is a good game, break it down,
and that's not necessarily his bag. And so therefore that's
why we like Chuck. Chuck, don't say something crazy. He's

(14:47):
gonna be hilarious. He's gonna have some fun with it
and not take it too seriously. Yeah, so that I don't.
I get the idea that there are so many more
outlets and trolls and blogs and insult to me along
with the actual real media and actual real shows. And
I can understand how that could grow on you as
a player. Right every time I turn on my TV
or lift my phone up, someone has something negative the samely,
I will never act like I'm blind to that, because

(15:07):
I can only imagine what that would feel like.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
I just when you watch these pregame shows, I mean,
they're so glowing and all they do is pray.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
That's what I mean.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
No, but I'm talking about on the game NBA games,
nobody's talking about anybody in a bad light or a
negative way on an interview. There's the balance is that
it's all positive. I have to turn the sound down
on pregame show because it's so overwhelming, glowing. Oh he's
so greaty, He's the greatest, Like it's ridiculous, Like nothing negative?

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 2 (15:44):
On the pregame NFL two, it is, it's ridiculous, like
it's just the exact opposite. And then you have one
where you have which was based on reporters having a
different SKW than former players who work for the league
and all that kind of stuff, and they will kind
of you know, it's the same thing. You know this

(16:04):
local broadcasters doing games or whatever. You're doing the Dodgers game.
You're not ripping the Dodgers, No on us, You're not. No,
I don't care what you say.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
You're not.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
You can say you know, they gotta figure it out,
they got to hit better, but you're not ripping them, no,
without a doubt.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
All right, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Do you agree with Lebron that the NBA media is
too critical of today's players? That's where he was going
too critical? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. We'll
continue that conversation next with you on a funky Flashback Friday,
Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington right here on Fox Sports Radio,
Stick and Stay America.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
A couple, Rod Parker, Kevin Washington on a fucking Flashback Friday,
and we are coming to you live from the tire
rack dot com studios, and if you feel like owning
a home is out of reach, well let me tell you.
Rocket is here to give you back the keys because
they believe everyone that's right. You two deserve a shot
at the American Dream. On the dream, visit Rocket dot

(17:22):
com or call a hundred for Rocket. I don't even
know how to set this one up, really, just we're
talking about Lebron kind of blaming the media and that
everything is negative. Everything is bad towards the players and
bad towards the game right now, and that's not how
it should be.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Robin.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
I feel there there's a balance. I think I do
believe he's overstating the negative. Absolutely there are trolls and
internet people, and I for a thousand percent agree with that.
But I don't think most basketball shows sit up there
all day and troller are hard on basketball.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
I think that when they need to acknowledge it and
be fair, they are. You. You can't fool of fans.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
I've told people is forever fans who watched the game
and our fans they know when it all Star games were.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Bad, right three point?

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Should it bead like we're just acknowledging, and all sports
go through a lull. They go through a little bad
season where a few years and baseball had it football
and not so fun league and concussions and that was
their little and you know, the whole kneeling an Every
league has that moment.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
All right, Obi in Los Angeles, you're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (18:24):
What's up, Obie, Good afternoon, mister Washington and mister Parker.
Are you great? Thank you? You know, mister Clarker, I
wanted to say that I think what's happening is that
season journalists and trained journalists like yourself are being drowned
out by a lot of these kind of social media
I'll call them critics. And when you add a nostalgic

(18:48):
cotonent to it, you have a lot of these people
will not trained journalists like yourself or seeing the game
uh in this kind of nostalgic way without actually adding
the important nuances that make the game so special and
make what you do, mister Parker, so important.

Speaker 9 (19:07):
So I think that and I think the players are
not getting the difference. They just hear what they hear.
They're not understanding that they're journalists like yourself, right, you
know exactly what they're talking about. And then there's these
social media kind of like want to be untrained journalists
that are spewing kind of all this negative Because the
negativity is what's listened to positivity. You'll know that when

(19:28):
it's negative, people listen.

Speaker 8 (19:30):
When it's positive, people kind of like eh.

Speaker 9 (19:32):
So that's that's kind of my take, And I think
I really want to thank you again for taking my calls,
and I really appreciate that you guys let us speak
to you and I we also appreciate the fact that
you push back on us when we make the silly errors, no.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Doubt, no doubt. We appreciate the supporting a wish. Oh
we let me tell you right now, how about to
get at them for no reason?

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Jay in Virginia, you're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
What's up, Jay, how you guys doing today? Well?

Speaker 10 (19:58):
Brother doing great?

Speaker 5 (20:00):
Yeah, I just wanted to speak on Lebron being, you know,
so faking and hypocritical with what his statement. He comes
in the league, you know, with the chosen One stamped
all over himself, wearing Michael Jordan's twenty three wearing the crown,
calls himself the King and when that was enough, now
he suff proclaimed goat. So he says he doesn't want
the attention and all this crap, and of course he does.

(20:21):
And then he gets in the league and he's saying that,
you know, the game means so much to him and
blah blah blah. But wasn't he the one that said
that it's just basketball? You know? So he's so hypocritical
with what he states, you know that that you know,
you really can't believe anything he says. And you get
asked the thousands of players that have been traded by
him over the years that he's dealt with. You know,

(20:43):
you can't believe anything that this guy's all about, because,
like I said, he's been He has been fake to me,
you know, pretty much since day one. He's a great
basketball player, but when it comes to you know, communicating,
not really interested in what he has to say because
I don't really trust a lot of stuff that he says.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
All right, Jay, we appreciate that for real. Thanks Ken
in Stockton, California. You're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (21:05):
Ken?

Speaker 10 (21:06):
I'm decided, man, you know it is. I'm start on
when Lebron says, you know, you guys keep living in
the seventies, eighties, nineties. Man, there ain't no defense played.
There ain't no there's a glorified three point shooter at
a golden state. And then there's this analyst. Every time
from nineteen eighty seven that you mentioned the games, he

(21:28):
gets a bad out of shape.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Man. Who is he talking about?

Speaker 4 (21:32):
Rob?

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Man?

Speaker 1 (21:34):
Who is ki talking about right now?

Speaker 10 (21:36):
Rob?

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Since since nineteen eighty seven? A T shirts cop. They're coming, man,
they are unbelievable. All right, can thank you for the call.
That's funny, That is funny. But uh, all right, you
got it spirited again.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
We got some room coming up in about an hour
and fifteen minutes or so. Last coff you couldn't get
in eight seven, seven, ninety nine. Oh Fox, that'll be
that Cleveland's now. Yeah, I was just gonna let Steve
tell him.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
A little NFL Action now joined by Will black Men.
You saw him earlier on FS one. We saw you
will Yeah, former twelve year, NFL veteran Will Blackman on
X What's up?

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Will?

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Will you hosting that show?

Speaker 5 (22:23):
Now?

Speaker 1 (22:23):
What's going on? Gotta relax?

Speaker 5 (22:25):
Right?

Speaker 11 (22:25):
Hey, I ain't already wrong, got the phone, got it.
It's good to see you both.

Speaker 8 (22:34):
What's Upaddy?

Speaker 1 (22:35):
You know I'm just asking.

Speaker 11 (22:37):
I know, listen, that's why I foresee what caution when I.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
Talk to you, Rob your wise man? Will go ahead.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
I was gonna say, all right, So Matthew Stafford's coming
back to the Rams, okay, but the contract wasn't good,
Like he took less uh money to come back. Do
you think it was that he wasn't getting any rhythm
from any like teams that were, you know, good teams
that were competing for something, and the only teams that

(23:09):
were interested in him were bad teams and the Giants
and the Raiders. You think that that played into it.

Speaker 11 (23:15):
Just there was just noise an off season alone, because
you know, obviously the stuff for Cooper Cup going on,
and then you know, there's been talks with Matt Stafford
every sing year. But at the end of the day,
I know something they really wanted Matt back. Matt is
bought a home. He wasn't trying to leave until it's like,
I think they were just like, you know what, let's
just it's the off season, go look around by all means,

(23:37):
but we're going to get something done. I think it
was the Rams all along.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Yeah, I mean we were robbing.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
I had this conversation, you know, throughout the week, and
I just thought, they can't get anybody better.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
He's still relatively young.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Thirty seven isn't that old, especially modern day sports, and
so it just seemed like for both parties it made sense.
Let's go to another quarterback that was tossed around. People
were saying, all right, well if he leaves, does Aaron
Rodgers come back?

Speaker 1 (24:00):
What do you make?

Speaker 4 (24:00):
What's the market for him right now? What's the interest
level for him? They did this Stafford re signing change
things for him?

Speaker 11 (24:08):
First of all, thirty seven in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
Is a vampire.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Okay, yeah, but I'm talking about that I agree with.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Well, but the quarterbacks, now, that's what I'm saying. We
certainly started to see we see Tom Brady, we see
uh Russell Wilson is getting up there, like we're seeing
this with quarterbacks are able, Kirk Cousins are able to
do it more. I agree with a running back or
did you see Kirk Cousins last year? Yeah, I thought
he was Kirk your cousin, not mine.

Speaker 10 (24:33):
Okay, oh my gosh.

Speaker 11 (24:36):
I think for I think for Aaron Rodgers, man, I
mean he's I think he was clear in terms of like, hey,
if the Rams like that would be a great spot
for him. I know he has a great respect for
you know, showing Bay and you know, their contender every year.
And so I think right now, man, the ass of
a very very very slim in terms of where or
where he wants to go. You know, obviously he was

(24:57):
right there with the New York some sort of Giants
got I think that's gonna happen now that the Raiders
out of the picture. For Matt Stafford, that's the possibility.
But at the end of the day, I don't know
if it doesn't look good for Aaron Rodgers, I mean
it could be, it could be it for him. He
might just if it doesn't make sense for him.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
Yeah, he mentioned, you know, a couple of the standards were,
you know, a team that was competitive and he wanted
to be wanted.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
So how can uh the Giants not have made a
switch in the front office seriously with their GM after
the whole Barkley debacle. I'm still surprised at how.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
How badly they missed that. Not only did go, they
had to release Daniel Jones or trade and whatever. Do
you know what I mean, Like neither guy is there.

Speaker 11 (25:44):
Yeah, that was a that was a huge, huge miss
with especially because of what he went and did. But
I think in terms of why they're still there because
usually when you when you bring in a new gam
and a head coach, and in some cases they have
an opportunity or they're in a place where they can
draft a quarterback that they want and they inherit a

(26:06):
Dan Jones, And I think the reason why they're just
still together because this is possibly the draft where they
get to actually get their own quarterback and groom him.
Obviously he's not They're not going to have a long
leash when it comes down to it. But I think
that's why I'm just still there. So right now their
position to get somebody really good. You know, hopefully they
get their quarterback, and you know, at the end of

(26:26):
the day, if they don't get it right, the quarterback
is still be there and they'll find a coach to
help them out. It's kind of like what happened in Chicago, right,
you know, you even takes over. Ryan Poles comes in
there and then it just didn't work out with the
current coaches. For Kayden Williams, he.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
Is will black Man. You saw him on FS one
of course, former twelve year NFL veteran. Well, let me
ask you about Travis Hunter. You play the position you
played dB. What what do you look at him? And
you say, man, I know he's a freaking nature. I
know he won awards from both positions receiver and dB,
but I think he'd be better DBU do you side
with kind of Robin I have saying, man, give it
a shot a little bit. Not that it's going to

(27:04):
be one hundred percent of plays. I can't you do it,
but let them let them show pitching and hitting. Let's
see if it could happen for one year. Yeah, like
he's not going to be on every play, but why not?
That optimism is saying what we got there?

Speaker 8 (27:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (27:17):
So, so I was fortunate enough to play both both
sides of the football buck of college or the receiver,
kick returner, part returner, and a corner mostly corner. And yeah,
when I got to the NFL. I was mostly corner,
but there was a time where I had a chance
of play receiver because we had a bunch of times
get hurt. So in this case, which have I do

(27:39):
see him as a quarterback, especially just how gifted he
is athleticty man. But definitely you can add some packages
in there where you can use them on offense. You know,
we can come in and you know, be a situational guy,
or you have a package you can introduce him during
the season and be them the team's good, and often
in the postseason you can really undish it. The hard
thing is, you know that everyone is talented for the

(28:02):
most part, right, So if you're gonna have him playing
both sides of the football, then I mean there's gonna
be somebody on the other side who might be just
as good as a receiver as a pure receiver. And
then the other question comes to Okay, if you're giving
him all this dosage, like is he going to last
physically for eighteen weeks? You know what I mean? Like
that that's gonna be a big deal too. You have

(28:23):
to protect your assets. He's very, very important, so you're
gonna put him on Dame and beat him up early.
That's a waste on your investments.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Yeah, I hear that part of it. But guys used
to play two ways. And I think you never stop
a prodigy. I think that you give a prodigy a
chance just to see it. That's just me and and
I hear all the other stuff.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
He could he could be.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Hurt playing on one side of the ball, right, He
still could get hurt. It's the NFL. Things like that
could happen, but it would be great. I think sometimes
to see something will happen.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
You know what I mean. You think you'll get one,
think you'll get a chance to do something.

Speaker 11 (29:01):
Yeah, wherever he goes, trust me, they will get him.
As the athlete he is, he will predominantly play one
side the football, and then he would supplement and come
in in situations wherever he is, Like we start an offense,
I could see him coming in on third down and
you know following you know, the slot receiver. I could
see him vice versa where he's a corner and then
he may come down in certain situations on offense and

(29:22):
get the ball.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
If you were still playing, and you were been watching
the tape, and I know you've been watching the tape.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Period, wudn't be talking to us because he'd be making
a fifteen million dollars point to right, Will, Yeah, I
said if you, I said, if you were still playing,
you would be making fifteen million.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
I mean, my god, the money is just crazy.

Speaker 11 (29:43):
It is it is. It's crazy everywhere at college NFL.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
Yeah, lyon college players out here making They're going to
pros making less.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
My question was gonna be will the coaches? Yeah, at
that point.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
We just saw Wan Soto signed for seven hundred and
sixty five million dollars.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
How about that.

Speaker 4 (29:57):
I'm trying hoping the dolor go back in time, all
guaranteed to all guarantee crazy.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
I'll get you out of here real quick.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
You know, Rob and I spent the whole season talking
about Patrick Mahomes looking a little off from just your
pavantage point, watching tape and watching film. Obviously would have
been somebody on the other side trying to defend them
and stop them. What did you see was wrong? Was
it just not enough talent? Was there something off? Was
he not trusting his offensive line so he's rushing things?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
What did you see?

Speaker 11 (30:22):
Did just went up against a better team? Point blank?

Speaker 5 (30:24):
Period?

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Throughout the season, throughout the season.

Speaker 11 (30:27):
Throughout the Yeah, throughout the season. You know, it's just
hard to be good for a long time. You know,
like every every week, everyone's trying to get their best
from every single team. And they have been the best
team for the you know, the past like whatever five
six years, and so it's just hard to win. That's
all I see is they're getting older and it's harder

(30:49):
to win. And in this case, they were. They were
able to win games when they were close, Like that's
what they're good at. They're good at like close games.
And that's why when it came to the Super Bowl,
I was like, if if the Chiefs won, it was
going to be closed. If the Eagles one is gonna
be a blowout because if they ken have closed out
I they can't see would have found the way. And
so that's just what it is.

Speaker 8 (31:09):
Man.

Speaker 11 (31:09):
I just think like guys are bringing up, Guys are older,
you know, the league is getting better the teams around them,
and so the gap is closing.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
What's crazy is who had better stats?

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
He did.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
It's unbelievable. Nobody would believe that. Nobody but well, Aaron Aaron.

Speaker 11 (31:30):
I mean Mahomes didn't go to the Pro Bowl, so
that says everything.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
No doubt.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
All right, Will all right, Will Man, thank you so much, brother,
have a great weekend.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Appreciate it. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
Will Blackman there, uh follow him on Will Blackman on X.
All right, Anthony Edwards, you got some thoughts about him.
We're talking about facing the league. You got a little
something you want to say to ant Man. We'll do that.
It's the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Yes, Sir, I want to say this at the top
of the next hour, I do want to give you
and Rob g some advice on our weight losing thing.
That we're working on right now. Right, you see me
eating like almost every hour. Every time we got a commercial, break,
you break, right, But I got this is a the
baked chicken. I'm gonna give you guys what you need

(32:53):
to do every week. Okay, dealing with baked chicken, all right,
So we'd do that.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
But we're talking about the NBA, and said next time
I was right outside. Okay, that's a good teas, good teas,
little cheez we'll talk. Yeah, Edwards, you got something. And
I'm gonna say, you know, like, man, has he fallen off?

Speaker 2 (33:12):
And I'm talking about from last playoffs where everybody would
say he's Michael Jordan. He reminded me of Michael Jordan, No,
my son, Yeah, and all that. You remember it was crazy.
He's the face of the NBA, always so exciting, always this,
He's that since then. And I get the national TV
commercial with Sprite and all that. But he's falling off.

(33:36):
He just got what suspended for the sixteenth technical guy.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
I'm not gonna lie. I didn't know he had that
many texts again, I called me off guard.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
That's a lot of technicals, right, So already we're not
even in more yet, and he had enough to be
suspended with sixteen.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
That one called me off guard. I was like, wait
what sixteen because I was, you know, get the Lakers.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
I'm watching the game, and I'm like, wait a minute,
what call Anthony Towns?

Speaker 10 (33:56):
Right?

Speaker 1 (33:56):
He gets traded, so this should be his squad? Right?
That's another the thing.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
And and is Minnesota better or worse?

Speaker 1 (34:05):
The worse?

Speaker 2 (34:07):
So this is what I'm trying to say, is like
all the stuff that was supposed to happen or whatever,
like to take the next step.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
I don't think he has. I don't think he's taking
the next step. I don't think he's taking a step back.
I'm not down on him like you are.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
I think when you still ask these questions to most
people in most you know, NBA circles, they still say
Ann Edwards, who's the facally it's either him or Wimby.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
Those are pretty much out here. That seems like because
he doesn't.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
I'm gonna tell you why we spent a whole hour,
you know, I mean, you know, the whole segment last
hour talking about Jason Taty, who has thirty points tonight
in the first half, yet he never says anything. He
doesn't have a signature thing. He doesn't good or bad, controversial,
and and Edwards says stuff good or bad. Bro I
watched the Golden Court thing, the Olympic documentary, and he's

(34:53):
supposed to be back in the shadows because it's about
Steph Kde and Lebron. But he has some of the juice,
some of the best best stuff, some of the juiciest
things in the doc and so, and he's playing very well. Singularly,
he got twenty seven a game. His team is not
playing right. That's here with Julius Randall's been out, not
that he you know, he ain't. I'm not saying they
win fifteen extra games because of Julius Randall, but and

(35:14):
he shoot the three ball incredibly well. So I think
he's still entertaining. I just think you're right. Take a
little step back.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
And he's saying from what they were talking about, there're
no Michael Jordan comparisons.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
That conversation is stopped.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
Mike wasn't fully let me think how old is Let
me do the math, because I know.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
What I'm just saying, like, you don't hear that that
that was? It was?

Speaker 4 (35:35):
It was this high during playoff time. But we have
to keep in mind how young he is. Dude, is
what twenty three, twenty four Max?

Speaker 1 (35:46):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Like, I'm just saying that should have been the jumping
off point after the postseason last year. That's all because
they did it. To me, it feels like he's taking
a step back. I'm still I still buy he's twenty
three years old. I still like it at words.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
I still think he has a chance him and winby
that's your face of the leagues right there.
