Speaker 1 (02:40):
Why is that You know why you're a pro because
you got up at three am to watch the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
I was in wosh ready to go. Hear me, I'd
like I'm slugging.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
No, not at all, man, I was up and I'm
gonna I wasn't at three. But I got up at
three fifty, okay, and I turned it on and I
watched again.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I was just teasing you really got up. I was up,
you know, look at my time. I took a picture.
I took a picture of the TV set when I
was in bed.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
And you really did. Of course I was. I was up.
Are you now? I'm almost mad at you. No, I
wanted to watch. I did watch.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
Here.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I am joking and teasing you. Now I gotta find
that you actually really were up. I had to be up.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
I was.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I know you TV did do it. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
I walk in confused because there's no place to park.
This is my first world problem. You know, we have
a whole little thing lined up for all the anchors
and reporters whatever, and I'm like, hey, where's the parking spot?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
That's because JayR.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Harrison Junior, Nomar, the whole Dodger's crew, everybody was in
the building.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
The good thing was they brought uh some black food
that they were there because they were there. But yeah,
I didn't know you were up watching absolutely Well, yeah,
I want to hear what you got to say.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
We'll talking a little bit later.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
That indeed, Major League Baseball season has started.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
It's official. Dodgers won four to one over the Chicago Cubs.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
All right, let's welcome into odd couple of crew who
we got because you wouldn't be able to do any
this fine radio program without him, not at all.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Really, we're up. I'm looking at this now.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
You say it. I was in bed right there. It
was to say, three fifty four o'clock in the morning
something like that. You didn't even wipe the cold otch eye.
You just rolled over and turn the TV on, coffin
and everything.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
All I said was can you pass me to remote?
And then we were going off and going.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
She said, as soon as I get that. As soon
as I get that approval, all your basket. Yeah, she said,
what I didn't get the ding hold on or whatever?
Wait did Okay, that's.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
What I meant. Good today, Yes, thank you. All right,
let's welcome to the Eye Couple crew.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Alex is our engineer, Bo Benson, Bo is our producer
and for Rob gl On.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
What do you laugh when I play the horse?

Speaker 5 (04:47):
No?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
No, well not laugh at that. I laughed at the
tiger Wood ad lige that you were playing.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I'm you're of the horse. That's why I'm playing. Yeah,
that's it. I'm used to you. Steve. The Seger is
at the anchor.

Speaker 6 (04:57):
Steve.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
He'll keep us updated throughout the program and until he'll
keep us on track too, you'll keep us employeed. Thank you, Steve.
We appreciate no doubt, and you're getting so fast that
we almost like you never heard of Steve.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
Our social media guru does a great job, Elijah on
social media, treating them like the let's get started here.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
And last night we were.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Belly akin saying people deserve to have their money back because,
oh yeah, because the Nuggets were missing three starters. They
were the Chicken Nuggets last night.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
They't play like the Chicken Nuggets though.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah they were missing obviously their star and Jokige another
one of their stars, not superstar, but Jamal Murray was out.
You had Brown out, uh, kind of their great utility player.
So they were out three big pieces, especially the top two,
and you kind of thought, well, they'll mail it in.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Hey, you can't win them all tonight. Not the case.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
How many people ran to the window at Vegas with
money figure in, this is an easy win for the.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
For the Warriors, right and mind you, it wasn't as
if Steph was out, Jimmy Butler was out, Draymond was out,
or any two of the three. All of them played
big minutes too, and yet they found a way to
actually lose this game one fourteen in favor of the Nuggets.
Won fourteen one oh five. Bad loss, and the Nuggets
were getting four and a half.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Yeah, bad loss.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I mean again, the Nuggets have some type of continuity
and that they've played together now this most of this
team for a few years. But come on, you can't
lose this one. And you can, especially with Joki Jan
Murray if.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
One was out. I get that. If Murray was out,
he think this game was in San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
This wasn't that frib right at the crib, Yeah, you
can't lose this one. But but if you're the larger conversation,
if you're the Warrior, Steve Kerr and the Warriors, you
would say, all right, look, we lost a bad night
at the office. Coming out of that last night, Steve Kerr,
he really went hard. I mean, explaining how Steph is tired.

(07:00):
He was saying, he's tired. We got to find a
way to get better at getting him breaks. We got
to find a way to get him some rest. He's
not gonna play tonight, and he says Steph has just
been sluggish the last few games. So we got he
had twenty points last night. You'd expect a little bit
more out of him in that regard.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
But I just don't. I don't know what tired is.
I'm gonna be serious. And you know I've been covering
this league since nineteen eighty seven. That was an early
one eight minutes in.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yes, but I'm tired.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
You play eighty two basketball games since three hundred and
sixty five days in the year. Is shocking to me
that people are tired. They eliminated a lot of the
back to backs, they've done everything. The team's got ten massuses.
You're getting rubbed down every night. I mean, it's just
getting crazy to shine, you know what I'm saying, Like

(07:50):
you to be to be an NBA player now, to say,
riding next to a sports writer in coach on a
six a flight in the snow and ice from Milwaukee. Okay,
that's what NBA players used to do, and then fly
into that city and play that night.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Seriously, only only now everybody's tired and st tired from.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
One, well only he there's if there's a handful of guys,
I will push back, but it's Steph, it's Lebron. You know,
you could argue if Chris Paul or whatever, he's obviously
nobody's really checking for him at this point. But if
they're a handful of people and it's literally their age, Rob,
I mean, sometimes Steph Curry, we forget how he's older

(08:33):
than we think, like, oh, he's Steph Curry thirty three,
Michael thirty seven.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Michael Jordan played every game is last year he did.
I'm just saying, I.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Know, I'm not I'm so I'm What I'm saying is
I'm not mad. Is Steph needs a night like there
are certain people who have earned it?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Is my point.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
I totally agree with you in the larger ethos of
you know, Anthony Edwards is having arrests or Jalen Brunson
is having arrest or you know some guys who are like,
all right, man, you're twenty six seven and twenty five
years old. What are we resting on. I'm with you
on that Steph has been in the finals what six times?
Maybe it's been a long way, you know, that's a

(09:09):
bunch of extra seasons when you total all the playoff runs.
And he just played the Olympics. So if there's a
handful of guys, I'm all right if they need some rest.
Michael Jordan's six NBA finals and he's and he had
his rest and he's still It's called a whole year
and a half off. Rock Now he played back. Yeah,
I'm gonna let y'all take that away. Baseball is not
don't do it. They have play every day, play every day.

(09:32):
All right, let's go here. I really want to do
this more than I want to do that.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
You started it.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
I know, I'm just saying, that's why I'm ending it.
We all know the Warriors fourteen and three when they
since they got the trade for uh, Jimmy Bob. But
the question is, really, and I know people were ready
to say, oh, yeah, the Warriors going.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
To be a problem in the West and this and that.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
But last night was an example where we saw some
of the old Warriors. They lost one one game this
year by forty points at home in the crib.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Here was a game that should have been a layup.
I don't care what you should win. You sh' what
they go win the game, right. They didn't win that, And.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
I just asked all the Warriors bolooney or for lay
because even with the great start with Jimmy Butler, I'm
still going with boloney. I still don't think they're one
of the best four teams or three or four teams
out West. I really don't, despite getting Jimmy Butler, despite
Steph's pedigree, and we know, uh, you know what Draymond brings.

(10:33):
But still I'm gonna call them blooney. I don't think
that they I still think the teams we're talking about
our West have a way better shot, uh and probably
and even the Lakers over the Warriors.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I just I'm not buying them as fala.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
You ever been to a really nice restaurant, which I
know you have, I've been a nice restaurant with you before,
and one of the not your Mama's, which is delicious,
but another port shot really nice, juicy pork chop. That's
what they are. I can't give them full a that's
a little too much, and out am I giving them
maloney that's too low?

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (11:07):
You mentioned the three or four. I do believe in
that you are, I know you know and I was
looking for Rod Parker, look for the extremes left or
right way over there. I believe they actually are a
content their top four. I still got the Nuggets, the Lakers,
okay see, and the Warriors. Those are the four. I'm
not Houston's fun to watch. They're young, they're a little
too early. Minnesota disappointing this season as a whole. Anthony

(11:29):
Edwards is playing great the last couple of months, but
as a whole little disappointing. I don't know if I
buy Memphis yet. So I'm putting the Warriors past them,
just based off championship.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
This is number two.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Yeah, I still if they got in the playoff series,
I don't know what it would take to win. I
would have to go with the Warriors over It just
goes back to what we talked about with Cleveland them.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
In the second half, the second four. I really, I really,
that's fair. And that's a fair point. I had.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Losses and and and that when you're talking about Steph
needs and these are home games.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
The forty point loss was at home.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
I mean this one again a night where they rested
everybody and they got well at home, they got blown out.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
There's been some really stinkers with this team. I'm not
mad at that.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
The only thing I have if I see them against
a Memphis, against a Houston, against a Clippers squad, I
just don't know if the other teams understand what every
single possession means and what it takes to win, as
Stephen Draymond and even Jimmy who's been to a couple
of finals, and some of the other pieces on that
team who have been to the finals with that team
as well. So I just they're not one, two, three

(12:36):
for me, if I'm slating them, you know you got Okay, see,
you got Denver, you got the Lakers, and then they'd
be there the Warriors and that four for me, of
just if they get in they know what it's like.
They understand every possession matters both sides of the ball.
They have that continuity, they have that familiarity with the Corps,
and then now you add a playoff performer in Jimmy Butler.

(12:59):
They still got a ways to go. I wouldn't say
they're going to win the West at all, but they're
right in that mix of they'll be toughed out and
I'll put them in that top four. So in really nice,
juicy pork shot with some nice herbs and season and
feeling good. Not falle though Filey is a little too
top tier.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
All right.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
And we want to find out a terrible stinker at
home for the Warriors? Are they blogoney or flat? As
we near the postseason? Where do you have them? Are
you buying into playoff Jimmy to Jimmy Butler factor? And
has he improved the Warriors that much or maybe not
as much as we thought? Eight seven seven ninety nine

So we got Max in Colorado. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Max?

Speaker 7 (15:20):
Hey, you gotta do it? Hey, A quick question.

Speaker 8 (15:24):
So talked about playing an eighty two games, and you
know MJ played eighty two games and they all did.
But what about like the offenses now, like there's more
fast breaks, there's more pick and rolls, there's more running
around that's worked.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
There used to be defense where people used to lean
on you and touch you. I mean there was a
lot of physicality that could wear on you as well.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
And to add to that, real quick, Max, Max, I'll
let you. I'll let you rot Max, real quick. Sometimes
we forget because we only think of like the early
two thousands when it started to get slowed down and grind.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
In the late nineties, dude.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Them eighties seams, buckets going back for Look at the school,
look at.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
The Denver team fifty five, dude.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
They used to I think sometimes we forget those eighty
teams wire going.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
But I get your go ahead, Max, your point though
on the.

Speaker 8 (16:12):
Warriors, just a yeah, this quick thing. So I'm twenty nine,
so I don't remember.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Oh yeah, your young brother trusts. They used to get me.

Speaker 8 (16:18):
So much more running around the court now like people
are getting open, but.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
It's easier to Rob's point games.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Okay, are you on the Warriors? What are they Bolognia
fil a with that Bolognia fill the Warriors?

Speaker 8 (16:33):
Oh no, they're yeah, they're not going anywhere.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
So okay, so you got them. I appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Reese in Lexington, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
What's up, Reese?

Speaker 7 (16:43):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Guy?

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Yo? Yo?

Speaker 7 (16:45):
Would Here's what I'm gonna say.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
I'm gonna say that for Lay.

Speaker 7 (16:49):
But at the Golden Corral, Oh my, oh my, like
like that.

Speaker 6 (16:55):
That's what That's what they are, you know.

Speaker 7 (16:57):
I mean, look at Draymond. He looks like a play
you need to catch up. All horrible.

Speaker 6 (17:03):
I mean this guy, this guy, I wantchee.

Speaker 7 (17:06):
Him last night. This guy is he's the worst watching
the NBA.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
I mean, this is Kurt Rampits.

Speaker 6 (17:13):
This guy is horrible. I can't believe, you know, they
try to say that they gonna win a championship.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
He's crazy. Thank you. At the Golden Corral joint, I.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Know, Andre in Massachusetts. You're on they couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (17:27):
What's up, Dray, Hey, how you doing? Thanks for taking
a call. Listen. I gotta say the Warriors are more
blowny right now and then Ballet. I know that there's
been a bump since there Jimmy Butler trade, but there's
no love lost in the Western Conference. Even though they
are the succeeed and out of the playing, the Timberwolves
and the Clippers are right there with them. You know,
those are two organizations they might.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Still get in. The Warriors could be in the playing.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Without a doubt. I mean they got a late to
getting good. They start off too bad.

Speaker 9 (17:57):
Yeah, and even though the West at the bottom of
the plane, you have teams don't know what they're doing.

Speaker 8 (18:01):
I e.

Speaker 9 (18:01):
The Mavericks and the Suns.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
That looks like where.

Speaker 9 (18:04):
The Warriors could get could end up. So I don't
think they can take their foot off the pedal. That's
what concerns me. I think Steph needs to be playing
tonight and they need to be all in to stay
out of the plane and give themselves a puncher's chance. Listen,
the dynasty has faded, the glory days are over, but
they could in theory challenge some of the upper echelon
teams in the West in the best of all possible worlds.

(18:25):
But I don't think they're there yet. I think they're
blogoney right now. They still have much to prove. Thanks
taking the call, Dre right, thank you.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
How about Sean in Sacramento. Couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (18:37):
Yeah, my Olga, another brother cousin Kelby and my brothers
behind the board. Man, Look, they are definitely not Bologney.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
They are impossible, Burger.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
There's nothing about these jokes.

Speaker 5 (18:50):
Man.

Speaker 7 (18:51):
We forget man. Steph is thirty four.

Speaker 10 (18:54):
This man Jimmy pushing thirty three.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Step thirty seven. Come on, Sean, he's thirty seven.

Speaker 10 (19:00):
Oh my gosh, just had a.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Birthday March fourteenth.

Speaker 5 (19:02):
There you go.

Speaker 10 (19:03):
And Draymond looked like he got about the same amount
as grades as Uncle Rob. Right now, No way, Man,
The deeper they get into the season, the more they're
gonna show their age. Jimmy has never been the type
of guy to be that durable unless his team is
front running, and step is just a bone bruise or
shoulder ache away from missing the entire playoffs. This team
will get eliminated in the playing game, just like they

(19:25):
did against the Sacramento Keys a couple of years ago.

Speaker 7 (19:28):
Go ahead and Bucket.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Coming along to the what about Brandon California. You're on
the couple of Fox Sports Radio going on.

Speaker 7 (19:39):
Man, I've been off for they switched my wig schedule,
so I was listening to you off through the podcast.
So it's good to be back to here, y'all.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Lie, yeah, where you been? We were wondering?

Speaker 6 (19:49):
Man again, I wish I could do that, but that
leads to that point the fact that I have to
do what somebody tells me to do, just like you all.

Speaker 7 (20:01):
Doug Curry rest tired myself and I don't get made
nearly what that man getting a game. So that's just
a bunch of craft talking about tires.

Speaker 8 (20:13):
Bro.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
He should know better.

Speaker 7 (20:14):
He played in the days where they were brutal, so
he know he shouldn't say spuck like that. But the Warriors,
because they don't have a big man, they are blogoney, Okay.
They shown me yesterday Aaron Gordon. He inserted himself all
in between them because they were small. He pushed Draymond

(20:34):
out the way, He put a Jimmy out the way.
He just grabbing the rebound like they they Westbrook are
playing bully ball with him, and that's where the weakness are.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
And that's what the Bologney.

Speaker 7 (20:45):
And they might not be cheap blooney, but you know,
but they're Bologna all.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Oscar Meyer, my Boloney has her first name, it's osc
as a second name it's m e y Are.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
But Steve, help me out. I love to eat it
every day. And if you ask me why, I'll say
Oscar Meyer has the way with bo l O and Gen.
I had a glizzy in my mouth. I need a remix.
We need a remix.

Speaker 11 (21:18):
But as I said before on the show, why is
it that people who can sing the least want to
sing the.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
Most and I can't smell? Please? I don't know. You
didn't spell eagle better than the mayor, so that's okay?

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Yes, I felt like I was all, what was the
vice president who couldn't spell potato?

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Yes? Yeah, who was that? I remember that?

Speaker 11 (21:42):
And a student the kids the kid in the spelling,
don't you.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
That's the thing about life. You can do ninety nine
things right. Steve, that one wrong? Remember you did that thing?

Speaker 11 (21:56):
You got to say that most vice presidents aren't remembered.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
At all right, good boy, Chaus, I don't know Mike Fans. Sorry,
all right, let's fine. We got Eapram Salam coming up
right now. We're gonna find OUs with trending and he
won't sing to you. Steve de Seger, Yes.

Speaker 11 (22:10):
Absolutely, that is a promise I will keep. First four
NCAA tournament is underway there. At halftime of the first
of the two games tonight, Saint Francis Pennsylvania leads thirty
nine thirty four over Alabama State. Coming up North Carolina
against San Diego State after nine pm Eastern time. Texas
plays tomorrow night against Xavier NT tournament with seven games tonight.

(22:30):
Indiana has a new head coach, Darien Devrees, after just
one season at West Virginia. On the AP All American Team,
there were two unanimous first teamers, Dukes Cooper Flag Auburn's
Jenni Broom also on first team. Alabama's Mark Sears from
Purdue Brayden Smith and from Florida Walter Clayton junior to
the NBA just four games tonight at Charlotte, the Hornets,

(22:51):
with a record of seventeen and fifty, are only down
twenty eight twenty five late first quarter against the Hawks.
The Hornets LaMelo Ball out tonight with a sore wrist
about to start. Boston is hosting Brooklyn. Jason Tatum of
the Celtics out with a bad knee, Jalen Brown out
again with backspasms. Golden State has one of the late
games tonight, hosting Milwaukee. Steph Curry out resting his strained

(23:12):
lower back. Golden State's seven game win streak did end
last night against Denver, the late game ten thirty pm
Eastern Time, as the Clippers hosting a Cleveland team that's
now fifty six and eleven. Oklahoma City shay Gilgis Alexander
is out for Wednesday's game against the Sixers due to rest.
Nine NHL games Tonight, the Patriots reportedly signed center Garrett Bradbury,

(23:33):
and the Dodgers beat the Cubs four to one, and
the season opener for Major League Baseball in Tokyo early
this morning our time. Shoheo Tani singled and scored in
the fifth, doubled and scored in the ninth. The window
Yoshinobu Yamamota, who went five innings, Zunti Dodger, You're not
going to do that the rest.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Of his Cat one and sixty one. Here we go.

Speaker 11 (23:51):
Dodger shardstop Mookie Betts will miss both opening games in
Japan after an illness. The Cubs and Dodgers play again.
The second day's game is on F one, also at
six am Eastern Time Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Back to you, Steve, I watched the game. Were you
up this morning or no?

Speaker 11 (24:07):
I was here late last night, so the game ended
before six am Pacific. As I mentioned on Sunday Night Show.
The DVR is one of the great inventions of my lifetime.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
So you were able to watch it.

Speaker 11 (24:17):
Absolutely, I took full advantage of that.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
But I did.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
I was watching started at three point fifty and I
watched till the end of the game.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
Oh wait, you set your alarm or you just rolled over?

Speaker 11 (24:28):
And did you notice? There were two completely different telecasts.
They had the local Dodgers broadcast with Joe Davis and
the Fox broadcasts.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
With Benetti But they weren't there though.

Speaker 11 (24:40):
The Dodger announcers were there.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Right, but the Fox guys they were not in Japan.

Speaker 11 (24:45):
Yeah, and Benettie was talking about like he's got NBA
to do and is it going to be doing tomorrow mornings.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Yeah, crazy, that's kind of it's kind of weird. You
made a big deal of it so much so to
send everybody like to make it doesn't make any big deal.
Why wouldn't you say you send the two announcemers.

Speaker 11 (24:58):
And I'm also surprised because Joe Davis wants it there
over the weekend for the exhibitions on the air. But
I did see him this morning, so okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
All right, maybe a flight. I don't know, I don't know,
all right, Thank you, Steve.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Add couple Comedy live from the tire rack dot Com
studios on a trash Talking Tuesday right now. As always,
we are joined by our man Ethra Salam, former NFL
offensive line and Fox Sports Radio Weekend hosts Efram Salaam
on Twitter aka X what's up?

Speaker 5 (25:27):
He?

Speaker 2 (25:28):
What's up? Man doing? Good?

Speaker 5 (25:32):
Man?

Speaker 2 (25:33):
Want to talk to a bunch of talked about? Do
you want to go?

Speaker 8 (25:34):
Rob?

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Were gonna be to start it off? Just off?

Speaker 1 (25:37):
So Eve, we know Aaron Rodgers is still mulling things over.
You got the Steelers who are an option. You got
maybe the Giants if he stays in New Park and
goes across the you know across the river, the Vikings,
if they were to do something with them.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
We if we go to the Giants, for instance, what
do you make of, Hey, there's.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
An idea of we get Aaron Rodgers, we get a
Russell Wilson, we got that veteran guy, but we still
get a Shador Sanders Mike because they're going to wear
and need somebody in the future.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Do you like that plan for those types of teams
the Giant No, no.

Speaker 5 (26:08):
No, no. I think the Giants, if they want a quarterback,
I think they draft their quarterback and develop their quarterback.
I don't think you play this experimental game with Aaron
Rodgers you want to talk about You don't want to
bring a destabilizing force into a destable situation or an

(26:30):
unstable situation. So it's one of those situations where we've
seen the world has seen firsthand how inept the New
York Giants organization is and some of the decisions they've made.
You don't want to keep adding on to those type
of decisions. So you want to start fresh and let

(26:51):
people understand and know that you're moving ahead with you know,
if you if it is your door, like you're investing
the time and the energy and the pick and the
resources into getting this right. He definitely has the talent.
Can you cultivate that or do you want to bring
in something that can destabilize the locker room?

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Okay, let me say this to you.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
You know, people are uh this general manager and the coach.
They're trying to save their jobs as well. They had
a bad year last year, right, made a bad decision
and now they had to live with that. And part
of it because I believe that part of the idea
is we can't afford to have a rookie quarterback go
one in sixteen or two in fourteen. We're gonna get

(27:36):
even though he's a rookie, We'll wind up getting broomed
out and the GM and that's why I think that
that's why they would try to do something to at
least to say, yeah, not to have a terrible.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
And eight or whatever. Ephraim, is that possibility because I
look at the same thing with the Steelers.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
Mike Tomlin has not won a playoff game since twenty sixteen.
Like the time has come he needs to win a
playoff game. And I think that's why teams like this
are looking at a veteran quarterback.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Am I crazy?

Speaker 5 (28:08):
Yeah, Well, the Giants don't. I don't believe they fit
into that. I don't think Aaron Rodgers is going to
save your job. That's the part, that's the whole point
with the Giants. They've made tremendous missteps, and I don't
think that Aaron Rodgers, who hasn't been good in five year,
four years, is going to come in and save your job.

(28:29):
What did he do with the Jets?

Speaker 4 (28:31):
He had the same status as Patrick Mahomes last year, identical.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
Didn't he get everybody fired? No?

Speaker 4 (28:36):
No, no, But I'm just saying, I'm just talking about
the numbers. He had the same stats as Patrick.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
I tell you, did that equate to the playoffs? No?

Speaker 2 (28:45):
But I'm just trying to give you, like a context,
that's all.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
Yeah. But the context is the Kansas City Chiefs are
are well run organization with one of the best coaches
to ever do it and Andy Reid. If the Giants
don't have any of that, they're not well run, they
don't have one of the best coaches to ever do it.
You can't compare numbers to a quarterback that you're trying.

(29:08):
I'm just trying to give you like one the greatest ever.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
I'm just trying to give you the Giants coach and
general manager. Trust me, they're on the hot seat and
they know it, and they can't it. They can't afford
to have a rookie quarterback who's not ready or who
plays toilet.

Speaker 5 (29:23):
They hav an Aaron Rodgers quarterback who isn't ready. He
just got a whole organization turned upside down. But he
just did it across the bridge.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
I've been doing I've been following the Jetsons. I was
in high school. Trust me, it wasn't just Aaron Rodgers.
They've been doing it since nineteen sixty nine. I'll say that,
let's go, let's go to the Let's go to the Bengals.
And they're paying all the wide receivers. Have they saved
enough money to pay some defensive players because last year,
as we saw, their defense couldn't stop anybody.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
How good and bad is this?

Speaker 5 (29:56):
Yeah, well it's terrible because their offense wasn't the problem
them last year. Their defense was the problem. Joe Burrow
put up historic numbers, so much so people were trying
to lobby him to be considered an MVP candidate. Even
though they had a losing record and didn't make the playoffs,
so obviously our offense wasn't the problem. You can't stop anybody.

(30:21):
You can score forty points, but you can give up
forty one. And so you know, they're addressing what Joe
Burrow wants, right, He wants his two receivers. He probably
should get some offensive line, and they probably should get
some ed rusher and at least one more dB to
try to shore up that defense. Look, I don't know

(30:44):
what Cincinnati's doing. They could have paid both or either
one of these receivers last year prior to even getting
to this, to this number, this resetting of the market.
I think it's a waste of money. Now, Look, they're talented,
but will that help them start fast because the last
three years they haven't started fast, two of them missing

(31:06):
the playoffs. I don't know if paying a bunch of
receivers sixty percent of the cap right is going to
save you in the long run as a team.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Aphram man I got I ask you about this, your brother,
who has so many endeavors. You're a businessman, you obviously
film TV World, But let's go back. You're twenty five,
twenty six, YT's say, you're one of the best offensive
linemans in the league.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
And I'm using this with Michaeh Parsons. How do you
do you not care?

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Because he singularly is producing the team and didn't produce
obviously this season, but he is still produced over twelve
sacks every year the first four or five years in league.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
We know he's great, but he's getting into it with everybody.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
Right he now is DeMarcus Lawrence Leaves and he's calling
him doing clown activity, and they're going back and forth
on Twitter, and he's really doing all the podcast stuff
and not mentioning Dak Prescott in his top ten quarterbacks
and talk about, Wow, we don't really care about Mike
McCarthy's about the guys who've been here the longest.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
That's what my teacher.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
What do you do if you're a GM at that.
Do you just ignore it because he's great? Do you
address it? Do you just say, hey, he's a young
man in twenty twenty five, that's what they do. How
would you handle that if you were a coach or
a GM or someone around him. Is a big deal
or no deal?

Speaker 5 (32:14):
Well, it's a big deal. Like I said, you know,
locker room integrity is the biggest thing, right. If you
can't control the locker room as good as Mike Tomlin
is and has been as a coach, We've seen some
destabilizing forces come through that locker room and it kind
of sidetracked them correct, especially in the receiver room. As

(32:34):
good as Mike Tomlin is, that was a situation that
ended catastrophically for Pittsburgh Steelers. Yeah, they don't have losing records,
but it allows it built up a culture and it
started something with Antonio Brown and then Le'Veon Bell, Like,
those destabilizing forces in your locker room are a problem

(32:55):
if you have your best player and Dak Prescott, I mean,
excuse me, Michael Parsons is Dallas's best player. If you
have him uh in a volatile role, uh being a
voice of of negativity, it's going to cascade down over
the rest of the team. At what point will the

(33:17):
GM are the owner or I mean they thrive in
that that level of chaos though, that's that is the
Dallas Cowboys. They thrive in that. They just don't have
the talent to back it up and to then to
and to wallow in that. So yeah, I personally believe. Hey,
I'm all for you having a brand and having a

(33:38):
voice and and and doing all of that. But anything
you're doing to detract from what our mission is, our
team unity, then we got you got. If you don't
nip it in the bud, then you got to I
mean trade him. I mean a little bit too late
to trade him now, because you know, all the free
agentcy are and all that are gone, but you have

(33:59):
to really secure that locker room. H And when you
have those fractions and guys stepping out against coaches and
other players, it's a problem.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
All right, Well, appreciate you man as always. We'll do
it again next week from you. Give him a follow
on Twitter. Ex from solon all right, check with city.

Speaker 12 (35:58):
You see me with my chest buck out shoot three
and oh last night three and oh that's sweet. Now
it's sixty nine and seventy going into tonight. Of course
these were all on social media and here we go.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Best bet. I had the Celtics minus fourteen and a half.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
TI score there but early and porzing I thinkingis was
back today it's.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
Fourteen and a half, Boston over the nets in a
lot of points, no doubt. Cavaliers minus two and a
half taking.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
On the Clippers and just hanging around, aren't they?

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Yeah they are, and that game is here in Los Angeles.
And then I took the Hawks minus seven and a half.
They were in Charlotte taking on the Hornets. So that's
about seven right now, Hawks minus seven and a half,
Cavaliers minus two and a half, and the Celtics minus
fourteen and a half. And remember, Calvin, I'm not telling
you who to bet on. I'm telling you who I

(37:01):
better give me the money. Shots mad at that? Uh,
you know you you brought up something. Since you're in
your weight loss bag.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
You're a.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Dodgers ain't a little dinner early.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
You're already prepping dinner out here in the streets, getting
ready for today.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
When for early?

Speaker 4 (37:18):
Yeah, I was baking chicken this morning, some chicken wings
while I was watching baseball. I probably put the oven
on at six a m. And started baking them. And
I'm going to have them doing the next break. Not
mad at that, not at all. I told you why
I can't do that in my household.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
You can't cook.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Your wife has not that early? Finicky knows, Yeah, she no,
it's too strong too. Can't sam joints. You can follow her,
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Her nose was that big. Hold on, man, we must
almost dove over the seat.

Speaker 5 (37:48):
Man.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
We was almost about to be a solo show, a
couple just me on a trash talking Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Respect on my name. Now, she just can't. She like
just her smells.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
So if you're making pork chops in the middle of
the night, I mean middle of the morning, that wouldn't
work for her.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Oh stop it, stop it, hey.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
Dude, tar Hills need to win to justify them being
in today that Steve was telling us, you got the
playing game right now. One of them, Saint Francis Alabama
State going at it right now looks like a good
with thirty nine.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Thirty four St.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Franciscan, A lot of people saying you and see, you know,
they got to prove it. They shouldn't have been in.
It should have been West Virginia and they better win
today to make up for that.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
Well, I mean, you would hope that they could win
if the whole idea of giving them the benefit of
the doubt is that you'd rather have them in and
they can attract eyeballs or maybe they can get something going.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
Uh, but I don't know that team.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
Yeah, I still no matter what win or lose it
the point goes to me that if you're West Virginia,
I understand it, and I do agree with the resume.
If you're just going based off of some of the
top tier games where they were six and ten and
quad one games. North Carolina didn't win any of those
quad one games. But the one thing you can do,
especially if you're a nine twelve West Virginia underwhelming team,

(39:02):
you gotta win, and you gotta win your tournament or
at least make it to the tournament finals. You gotta
do something to make them voters, all right, you know what,
they finished strong. They finished strong. Let's give them some momentum,
let's give it to them. But if you do, you
can't finish a next to a team that is known,
next to a star player, next to a star team,
you just you know, a friend an organization like the

(39:24):
Tarios and university. So you just can't do that because peep,
nine out of ten times they're gonna pick that team
or pick that player if you're if it's a middling thing,
you know, if it comes down to it. So that's
my point, you just can't leave it in the uh,
the committee's hands.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
You have to do your part.

Speaker 4 (39:39):
You got to do your part and finish on a
high note where people feel good about you rather than
questioning whether.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
You should be there or not the.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Team the last time that the committe, because the committee
is gonna go in there, they're gonna say, all right, well,
how they do their last game or they lost to
a sub five hundred team second round of the tournament,
and they'll be thank you, but no thank exactly because
we see tar heels on the chest, we see that
Carolina blue, and you know they're gonna get in. Well,
we kind of talked about it a little bit and
the Dodgers uh started at three am.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
They had some folks watching. Was it the right way
to do it? We'll talk about it, stea couple, Fox
Sports Radio. What it got through is that must
