Man.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
We're getting ready for the weekend.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Had some good games, sat around the house later on
watch some of the March Madness games and uh yeah,
howd up to see what upsets who just lost earlier? Well,
we know Kansas obviously lost yesterday, that was a big one.
And who lost earlier? Colorado State? They beat who they beat?
(03:06):
He was watching that. I can't remember who they beat? Memphis, Memphis.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, I was mad.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Was that an upset because he's oh for three in
his last in his last three you know NCAA tournament games.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Yeah, they didn't go to their big man enough. He
got a great name, Danger Danger. They didn't go down
to danger enough. I don't think Joel will Robinson.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
No.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
You know what's funny when we can get into this
at some point, But I'll just say this, man, old man,
are some of these college kids looking like they went
to high school with me? Because this transfer portal and
COVID year and some of these teams the average age
is older than the Oklahoma City thunder eight. Literally, I'm
not even be funny. I mean some of these kids, man,
(03:48):
I'm looking like they. I know he's supposed to be
a manager at Enterprise or something. I know he's supposed
to be a manager at best Buy or CEO of
Starbucks or something. I'm looking at some of these years
rob like, my goodness, this transfer portal and and COVID
extra years they're getting is h It has been hilarious.
But it's been yeah, just laying around and enjoying some
of the games. Man yourself. Did you did you hit
(04:10):
your nineteen sixty frive Friday lunch today?
Speaker 5 (04:13):
Rob g already saw the receipt and this was the
bonus today?
Speaker 6 (04:17):
Are you ready?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Two bonus today? Okay, they didn't charge for the.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
Drink and it was just nineteen I mean twenty one
dollars and fifty seven cents with time for.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Loys for two. Wait, why did they not charge with
the drink?
Speaker 6 (04:32):
Just because I'm a nice guy, you know what I mean?
And you know like it looks you know, so I'm
just a nice person.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Right, that's a good deal. I'll tell you what you
might have.
Speaker 6 (04:44):
That's that's the best deal of going in that line.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
No, seriously, you might have given the washingtons. This might
be what's for dinner tonight?
Speaker 6 (04:50):
Why you got you gotta Friday's near you?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah? Oh dude, literally, I mean literally behind our neighborhood.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
No, you gotta just go check the you know what
I mean. You only could pick from the menu, but
the special menu.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Listen, you said it has chicken tender, so you know
that's all my girls want to eat.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
Definitely check it out.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Yeah, the girls will eat the chicken tenders. I'll get
some ribs. The wife will probably. You said to seat
chicken caesar salad.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
She'll get that and then be ready to roll shrimp
shrimp chicken impasta dish as well.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
So there's a couple of more. Yeah, you just yeah,
I know.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
I'm sorry. We just got the dinner things set up
all right.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
Let's welcome in the odd couple crew because we wouldn't
be able to do this fine radio program without him. Uh,
Rob G, who was about to leave for Sabbatico, will
be gone for I think he's gone already, but he'll
be going.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Left yesterday even while on air six.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
Weeks, which I don't even know what gonna Will this
show be able to hold together for six weeks?
Speaker 6 (05:45):
No, I don't think six.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Rob G is leaving you for six weeks and he
expects you to make it six years. I don't see it, Rob,
I don't.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
See I don't I just don't even understand how you
could do this, But we understand it.
Speaker 6 (05:57):
Six weeks, we'll leave it at home with the wife, right,
what do you need to do? What are you doing
Rob six weeks?
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Yeah? What are you warming up? Bottles?
Speaker 7 (06:05):
On?
Speaker 2 (06:05):
What you're doing?
Speaker 6 (06:06):
All right?
Speaker 5 (06:07):
Alex is our engineer. Steve de Seger is at Stanker Desk.
He keep us updated throughout the program, and of course
Elijah is our social media gooon day one day and
Elijah is one of the best in the business. And
he just did our uh inside the Parker opening for
(06:31):
the YouTube show that we're gonna start next Friday, and
it is tremendous at job. Okay, all right, Uh, let's
get started here on the program. And uh, Cooper Flag
of course is uh the big conversation robb G can
you set us up to set the table for the
odd couple on this funky flashback Friday?
Speaker 8 (06:53):
That's right, Cooper Flag. Who missed the entire ace or
most of the aces there.
Speaker 6 (06:57):
Used to be a woman? And Steve knows this on.
Speaker 5 (07:02):
What was that? What was that show? Honnay was Fanny Flag.
I'm gonna tell you match game Fanny Flag.
Speaker 8 (07:08):
Okay, Cooper Fly, I'm sure there's like thirty five people
who care about that reference. Sorry anyways, Cooper Flag was
nursing an Ankleingjery. We didn't know if he was gonna
play in today's game until probably about Thursday yesterday was confirmed,
and apparently he didn't.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
Really need him because he played.
Speaker 8 (07:25):
I don't play twenty two minutes at fourteen to seven
rebounds for SIS, but a game they won by forty four.
And even still, the expectation is whether he's fully healthy
or not, Duke is gonna go deep in this tournament
and Cooper Flag is going to continue to be the
Marquee player on the Marquee team in college basketball. In fact,
(07:47):
earlier this week, Jay Williams went on First Take with
friend of the show, Steve A.
Speaker 6 (07:51):
Smith. Don't care Stephen. We call him Steve.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
We called him Steve.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
We go way back.
Speaker 8 (07:55):
We go way back with Steve, and Jay Williams was
asked what he thinks would be the best storyline for
this tournament, and of course he says Duke winning the
national championship because it's dukeal um.
Speaker 6 (08:08):
But that wasn't the reason why. His reason had more
to do with Cooper Flag himself. Take a listen Cooper Flag.
Speaker 9 (08:14):
Now there are pictures of him in Kyle's basketball with
his face and the American flag behind it. Think about
everything happened in our country right now, right but what
it means to be America? America? First, Okay, he's from Maine.
He's not like from one of these cities. You know,
He's from Maine. Okay, representing the bigger grand stage of
(08:36):
the country. He's won in high school. If he wins
at Duke. Now I hate these comparisons, but you know,
people naturally do it stee to day. You know where
I'm going the Larry Bird. I'm like, you don't play
nothing like Larry Bird. This game is actually more like
Paulo Ben Carrol. But certain people do things like this.
So if Duke wins and Cooper Flag wins, it becomes
(08:58):
way bigger than that basketball, and then it becomes could
he be the face of the league moving forward?
Speaker 6 (09:08):
Go ahead?
Speaker 5 (09:09):
Because I think that. I just think it's a big stretch.
I mean, there's so many ifs, this, that, and the
other thing. And it's not just I without saying it,
I don't even know why you would even approach it.
Is he's saying because Cooper Flag is white, and then
that would be the reason why he would be the
face of the NBA.
Speaker 6 (09:25):
Is that what he was trying to say without saying it.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Yeah, I think he was trying to add to the
kind of the current temperature of the culture, right, But
he didn't say that.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
But yeah, he alluded to the flag, the American flag.
Speaker 6 (09:40):
Okay, but that's all he said. And I don't know.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
Maybe I'm reading into it because European and foreign born
players have won the last six m vps. Is that
what you're talking about, or you're just talking about because
he's white. Because I've been covering sports long enough that
I've heard these stories in scenarios. Jerry Cooney, He's gonna
the Bay heavy wade fighter. I've just heard this over
and over and over. And I lived through the Larry
(10:04):
Bird when Larry Bird first came in the league, and
I was there when, you know when when I remember
it very vividly, when Isaiah and Rodman talked about, oh yeah,
you know about Larry Bird. And if you watch the
games back then, and I did, it was I mean,
it was all about Larry Bird. He make a bounce
(10:26):
pass and they would act like no one had ever
had a No.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
It was really bad.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
And the other thing, too, is you had two wide
announcers doing the game, and they were both from Boston,
Dick Stockton and Tommy Heinzen.
Speaker 6 (10:38):
So it was really bad. I'm being honest with you,
like how bad it was.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
I just think you can have this set up and
put them behind American flag and all this other stuff.
It still takes. You gotta be able to play. You
gotta be able to play at that level. Otherwise that
stuff you just does, do you know what I mean? Like, no,
I just kidnap you could. Yeah, I just I think
(11:05):
that sounds Oh yeah, Well, if he wins and if
he does this and he dropped it on the league,
he had thirty five points and he does that and
they win a championship, then he'd been standing behind America.
If I really okay, like like there's a lot of
stuff that has to go down, he could be a
really good player. Christian Layden was one of the greatest
(11:25):
college basketball players I saw, Okay, without without adult. If
you were to kareem, you could pick like three people,
and Christian Latner would be in that right.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
Everybody who knows college basketball, Christian Layton would be there.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
Go look at his NBA career, Go look at it.
I think he made the All Star team one time.
I think it was what the Hawks won one time.
So I understand what he was alluding to without getting there.
But uh, you can want this and want that and
all that other stuff same thing. You can say whatever
(12:02):
you want. Wouldn't it have been great if Mike Trout
had a personality in baseball.
Speaker 6 (12:07):
He's good looking, he's big, he's strong, he's a great player.
He didn't have it.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
He didn't have it, did he and was never really
the face of baseball, not really. He was a talented player.
People were like, oh, that's what a great player to
look at, but he he never got that because he
didn't have all the other elements. And now you got
a player from Japan who's doing stuff we've never seen before.
Speaker 6 (12:31):
So I think there's too much Thereah.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
So I think I think America is always clamoring for
the next great white hope.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
In things, you pick the thing, whether it be Maclamore.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
In hip hop, Cantick dropped one of the greatest rap
albums of off time, Good Kid Man City and Maclamore,
which is no shade on him as far as an artist.
He put together a good album, had a few good singles,
But there's no way he wins Grammy for Best Rap Album.
But that happens, right, you go to certain other ment
of society. They're always looking for that. That's just an
(13:03):
American thing. And if you are in denial, not you Rob.
If someone's in denial about the role in which race
plays in any and everything in America, then you're in
gross denial. That is embedded in the fabric of our society.
Now with that being said, is there maybe an advantage
to an anomaly?
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Right? The NBA is I don't know the exact number.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
We're gonna say, sixty five is probably percent black, maybe
sixty five seventy at one point we know. So there's
always an anomaly, right, Usually the best players, the majority
of them, are gonna be black players, just based off
the numbers. So when you get an anomaly in things
that it becomes more popular. So Cooper Flag becomes in
and he's really good and he's white. That only helps
(13:46):
to the allure to the popularity Allah Larry Bird, as
you mentioned, because Larry Bird, if you talk to any
brother from the eighties, they will all give you the
same story. Man, I always heard about him. I said,
let me play. He ain't never played. Nobody like me.
He ain't never played. And then they playing and say, man,
and I'm just saying what they said, that white boy
can play. All of them said that because Larry was
(14:07):
actually the best player in the league for he was
exact players.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
So that's took.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
When people say to Larry Bird, I want to make
sure they add that Larry Bird was actually the best
player in the league for a handful of years.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
So you can't just be good. You can't just be
really good.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Cooper Flag has to come in, have some swag, some
sauce and be really good, and I mean it'd be
very good and be one of, if not the best
players in the league for a chance.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Because it ain't easy. It encompasses.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
As we mentioned, Jason Tatum's one of the best players
is the kurb Ranny Champ. He ain't it, you know,
Tim Duncan was a five time champ, two time MVP,
so on and so forth.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
He wasn't it, per se.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
So Cooper Flag has an opportunity because he's really good
in college, he'll be the first pick.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Would have been the first pick last year even out
of high school.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
If they didn't have the one and done, and he
has an opportunity, but he's gotta be very good, one
of the best, if not the best. And he's gotta
be has to have something about him, something else. But
I do believe in my final point is America will
be clamoring. They are always clamoring for the next great
white hope. That's just the way the society is, in
(15:16):
my opinion. And so he has that opportunity, but he
has to live up to it, and that means being great, no.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
Doubt eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Does does Cooper?
Does Cooper fly? Cooper flag?
Speaker 6 (15:37):
Being white? Does it really matter? Or is it about
the talent?
Speaker 2 (15:41):
You know?
Speaker 5 (15:41):
How much does it really matter? He could be white,
and if he's not that good, he won't be the
face of the NB. I don't I don't care.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Steve Nash was white, was really good. He wasn't the face.
He was MVP, but he wasn't the face.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
Eight two MVP's back to Back all Right eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
It is the Odd Couple.
Speaker 5 (15:59):
Fox Sports Radio on a funky flashback Friday, Stick and
stay for.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
More riveting Top on last Robbji's Last day of the
US that's a good point.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
It is The Odd Couple, Rob Parker Kelvin Washington coming
to you on a funky Flashback Friday, as we usually do,
and we are brought to you live by Tyrereck dot
com Studios. Tractor Supply knows that a winning season takes practice,

Speaker 2 (16:53):
That's Tractor Supply for life out here.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
What role does whiteness play or is it all talent
based autocracy type of way when it comes to making
a star in the league. Specifically, we're talking about Cooper
Flag eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox taking some calls.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
Who we got Kevin in Culver City. You're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (17:15):
God is good all the time? Hey for Kelvin. You're right,
Dookie Massy, that's one of the best hit I've album
all time by the right Chronic. But that's that Maclamore
album was all over the radio that year with thrift
shot that that was a radio I agree.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Remember I said, I said it was a good album.
He has some some banger singles on it.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
I agree, yeah, absolutely. In terms of the white player,
I've asked some of my you know hoopers, who white
white players who follow basketball, what's the big deal about this?
You know, Luka Dawkins is a great, great player. He
can't be the.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
Basically no, because no, because they don't look he's not
he's not from America District.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
And I don't get it.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
But there's a difference though, I'm telling you, Like people
don't look they say European because he wasn't brown here.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
Yeah, and now you know, people like the people in
Utah they want him because he's from you know, he's
from America. Cooper Flex. The last time I saw this,
i'd probably say it was Adam Morrison, where so it
was so media drawn.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
I remember that he had this he had the the
same kind of mustache with Larry Byrd, and people were like,
he's the next Like, yeah, can you stop, you.
Speaker 7 (18:28):
Know what I mean?
Speaker 6 (18:28):
Like he didn't have he didn't have any kind of
a career in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (18:32):
Yeah, yeah, chet Holmes brand. He you know, he was.
He was a big he was a big time you know,
media guy. But they weren't really pushing him like they
were pushing Adam Morrison even like Cooper Flag.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Because Adam had the ball. He was more of a
wing player than check check. It was a big Usually
you got to have the ball in your hands to
get pushed like that nowadays.
Speaker 5 (18:51):
All right, thanks, appreciate the chef. Yeah, Drew in New Jersey,
you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Drew?
Speaker 7 (18:59):
Hey, I think it's not necessarily why. I think it's
more of like a what's like you don't see something
you don't see very often, just like Tiger Woods had
that affect in the golf where you're like, you're not
used to seeing that on the golf course. Probably right,
But but but I.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
Will say this, Drew, and I'm not cutting you off
if he doesn't win, And that's my point, Like he played.
It wasn't just that, Okay, he's a black golfer on
the PGA tour. I mean it has to be has
to be coupled.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
Married with that.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
You got to be married with being like like a
great player and Tiger.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
Michael when he came out.
Speaker 7 (19:36):
Because I was super young, but.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
I remember the Michael jack effect.
Speaker 7 (19:39):
That was also a big thing.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
But but it wasn't and it wasn't.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
No, we had seen some scramblers are running Frank Targets
and Steve young ring. It was that when Michael Vick
was doing, uh, and it was kind of married with
a couple of things, the swag with it and his
running right off the bat like he got straight to
the running, whereas everyone else tried to be, you know,
more of a quarterback. He said, I'm a quarterback who
(20:05):
I'm running as soon as it's there, and nobody had
been that fast. But I get your point, and the
point where I was making was anomaly. That's the thing.
So it's not often just race, but it is the
anomaly something different is why it becomes.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
A big deal.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Serena and Venus in a sport that there have been
black tennis players, but they had dominated at a young
age and they were black girls from Compton. Was it
was made it a thing, a storyline, all right, right,
thank you stuff yep, appreciate the calls, Thank you so much.
We have some more conversations. You can hop in in
just a little bit and don't forget on the way.
We got some guests coming up. We got rashat Phillips
(20:37):
talk some more college shoop in about an hour right now.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
It is What's Trending with Steve de Sager.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
App Company, live from the Tyraq dot com studios. Aaron
Rodgers dues huh, Rob g uh, looking like maybe possibly
some progress when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 6 (21:03):
You know, I got a bone to pick with people
after this, Robers.
Speaker 8 (21:06):
According to multiple outlets, Aaron Rodgers met in person with
the Pittsburgh Dealers on Friday for six hours to be exact,
that's a long meet.
Speaker 6 (21:16):
And gree if he asked me what a light's on
or off?
Speaker 8 (21:18):
I just want that's a good question on the Only
problem though, is he did leave the building.
Speaker 6 (21:23):
Without a deal in place. Coordinate Adam Sheffer.
Speaker 8 (21:26):
No deal is imminent, even though the Athletic and other
alics have reported that the terms of a potential deal
are already done. It's just whether or not Aaron Rodgers
is willing to commit to be Pittsburgh SQUD.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
Be one and here Calvin, it's just my bone to pick. Okay,
people are clamoring about him making it. He hadn't even
gone to the facility yet or met do you know
what I mean?
Speaker 6 (21:48):
In person?
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Well, come on, alright, he's holding them hostage or this
and that. They don't even he didn't even meet them.
That's bad reporting, as if he was supposed to make
a decision without going to the facility.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Come on, twenty twenty five, get on a zoom call Rob,
get on the zoom. You know how to FaceTime? Hello?
What's up? Mike Thomlains aka O mar Apps? How you
doing brother?
Speaker 6 (22:12):
How it is you still meet people in person?
Speaker 5 (22:14):
You know?
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Come down here, come get on this jet and get
here in one hour.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
My point is that's ridiculous, and it was the player
was like, oh, either.
Speaker 5 (22:22):
You want to be on stealer or you don't want
to be a stealer? Well, can I come to the facility,
Can I meet people first? Is there any possibility or
not a tissue? Yes, I wouldn't need a tissue if
I'm coming down there.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
No, you get no, I do get your point. And
this is why when we were talking about this, I said,
I'm not mad. Actually, Aaron, I said, my thing is
the teams putting themselves. For instance, of Steelers who have
playoff maybe deep playoff run aspirations in a situation where
they're forced. If Aaron were to say, you know what
I thought about it, I talked to my girl or
my whatever I wanted, the dark thing, my sourts, my god,
(22:54):
whatever he is, and he said, I just want to retire.
They be jammed up, you know, or if you're the
giants or giants obviously how a draft paper.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
My point was.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
My larger point was you're putting yourself in a position
where he has the luxury of waiting because it's his prerogative.
You're stuck with it, so he has the right to
do what he want. My thing was all right, but
you get what I'm saying. It's like a jam you
put yourself.
Speaker 6 (23:15):
You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Jaele were acting like he's got to make a decision,
and I'm saying he didn't even meet with them yet
until yesterday or today.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
I think, yeah, I do think it's you know, I
don't know what else he needs to wait on. I mean,
if they come to some type of terms that would
make sense for the organization and the player, you know,
the you know, you see the roster, you know.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
I mean, they are one of the more premier organizations.
Speaker 6 (23:41):
Still a decision he has to make. I mean, it's
still he's a free agent.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
This is what you have.
Speaker 5 (23:46):
There's no time limit, there's no I mean, at some
point if he doesn't, if Pittsburgh wants to move on,
they can always rescind it and say, you know what,
we're not gonna wait any longer.
Speaker 6 (23:55):
What what happened with Brett Farb in Green Bays.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
He came to training camp like three years in a row,
no not coming yet, saying I don't know if I'm
playing or not, okay, And then eventually they were like
we're good, okay because they had a quarterback sitting there.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
But they let him do it. The first two years, okay,
because he was that great.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
He's a future Hall of I think.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
But the third year once they had Aaron Rodgers there
and they were like, okay, you know what, we got somebody,
and we don't care about your decision.
Speaker 6 (24:23):
We're moving on. And that's how it ended in green Back.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
And that's why I said it's weird that the Steelers
put themselves in this position Rob where they literally, let's
say he called right now and he said, hey, I'm retired,
or let's just say for some reason, he decides.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
To go to the Giants and they're like, cool, what
the heck do the Steelers do?
Speaker 6 (24:39):
You make it like they can't find a trade or
make a move on a quarterback. It's not that it's
not that possible. You haven't seen the quarterbacks that they've
had over the last few years.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
That's the point.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
And then guess who goes in the air and says,
Mike Townlan needs to win a playoff game.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Rob Parker.
Speaker 6 (24:56):
Yeah, but as Russell Wilson is, he is, he is?
He signed No, But I don't.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
That seem as if that's not gonna be American to happen.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
Why if they don't have any other choice? And he
doesn't have any choice. Oh, I'm not gonna play. Maybe
Cleveland wants I say, he doesn't have a deal though.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
They're too good of a team, organization and a team
that has Playoff aspirations and want to get into the
deep run, possibly a super Bowl to be in this position.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
That's all I'm saying. When you look at the teams
that we expect to be really good, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (25:27):
I just don't. I don't. I don't. When you're shopping
for somebody, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (25:31):
There's nobody else out there other than Russell Wilson or
Aaron Rodgers. Who else did they miss out on? Is
what I'm trying to They were never signing Sam Dor.
I'm saying they miss out with. Is what I'm trying
to say is why this is why they've been in
the But I'm asking you who did they miss out
by waiting for Aaron Rodgers? Who did they miss on?
Speaker 1 (25:54):
They could have they could have made they could have.
You already know my first answer. They could have stuck
with Justin Field.
Speaker 6 (25:59):
They didn't want him, and that's fine.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
You don't want it, don't run it back with Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Yes, say they go what you said, Hey, you know
in the first five six games look pretty solid.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Obviously the last five were great.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
But we learned they didn't want to so in Sam Donald,
they tried to kick the you know, he ended up
going to three year deal, which I love how to.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
Report one hundred deal, I know.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
That's why I say I love how they report one
hundred million dollars when it's fifty five basically a one
year IF player.
Speaker 6 (26:22):
We're about to talk about the same uh t Higgins?
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Did you see that? Yes?
Speaker 5 (26:27):
Yep, again another phony NFL contract phone.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Yeah, they gotta quit how they gotta they gotta listen,
you can have it contractually how you want it, but
y'all gotta quit reporting it the way like that.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Call the money what it is? What's the fact that's real?
That actually? Bey honest leading Now get why the teams
love it?
Speaker 1 (26:45):
Right, looks, Look, this is what we do. We break
people off. Baby, We believe in our players. Like to
say that one hundred million dollars. Man, No, you don't know,
you're a fifty five million dollars, which.
Speaker 5 (26:55):
Is because I but I know plenty of players who
had big deals who never got the back end of
though I know.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Most of them, don't you know what I mean? So yeah,
it's always mind boggling. When you get those numbers. You're like,
all right, you got to relax with that. But I
just again, however they end up finding themselves in this position.
I just look at the organization that you know, you
think of the Steelers, you think they want to be
competing for Super Bowls, And I'm like, man, y'are in
a terrible place where if he doesn't choose to go
(27:21):
to prom with you, you stuck going with your cousin.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
You stuck going to the prom with one of your girls.
Two girls.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I have gone with my friend, like you chose to,
like you wanted to. No, you wanted to be chose
by the guy, the hot guy. He didn't go with you,
and now you have nobody to go to prom with.
And that's I just didn't think the Steelers would be
in this position. That of all, if you just said
the Panthers, if you just said the Browns, if you'd
have said the Jags or something, Oh, I get.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
It, okay, all right.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I just didn't think the Steelers would have put themselves
in this position. But they have been struggling with the
quarterback position now for a decade.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (27:52):
But the only problem is is there was was a
relationship between Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers too.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
There's always been this thing better he better flirt harder.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
So maybe this is but maybe this is the this
is the one time and like to listen to you
before you know, Tomlin needs to win a pick up.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Look, we agree on that.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
I mean, let just get into the whole just being
five hundred, all right, Now that's cute.
Speaker 6 (28:14):
It was cute. That was Q two years ago.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
Okay, now right, Yeah, you have too many especially your
roster has consisted of consistent of too many talented players,
you know, especially on the defensive side of the ball,
to just be wasting these these talented teams away just
sneaking in the playoffs or just being five hundred.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
So yeah, I'm totally in agreement with you on that one.
All right, we got Shekel City, see how Rob did.
We'll do that.
Speaker 1 (28:41):

Speaker 6 (30:25):
I got Okay, Charlotte plus twenty and a half. Can
you believe that against Okay s.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
No, No, you read that wrong, because there's no way
you just said that. That's just crazy.
Speaker 6 (30:35):
Charlotte plus twenty and a.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Half is just absolutely ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (30:39):
And I said Philly plus five and a half.
Speaker 5 (30:41):
I told you that. And my last game, I'm gonna
take Dallas plus nine against the Pistons.
Speaker 6 (30:49):
Pistons win, but.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
Not by nine and a half. Mavericks plus nine and
a half. All right, So again, all right, Mavericks plus
nine and a half. We got the Hornets plus twenty
and a half, and we got Philadelphia plus five and
a half.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
So we got the.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Uh man, You see, I was talking to Robbie earlier today.
I was saying, man, it might be depending on what
you want to call it. You could call it a
great coaching matchup, or you can call it the sleazy
guy matchup happening this Saturday when Arkansas and Saint John's
go at it tomorrow continuing in the NCAA, Brack, whoever.
Speaker 6 (31:42):
Loses this game, do they get handcuffs instead of a trophy.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
I'm just saying, Oh man, this is gonna be this
is Sometimes things just align, Robert laugh.
Speaker 6 (31:53):
No, we didn't laugh.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
No, he just shook said sometimes things just match up personally,
rob not even here first.
Speaker 5 (32:00):
He'll laugh once in a while. I know you're not
gonna be off for the next eight months and all
that stuff.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
I think, Robberie, I think something. I do think he's
coming back.
Speaker 6 (32:10):
Why would you say that, rob G? You love this show.
You love this show. Where are you going? You might
not come back? Rob G. You know my dream is
to take over Costco. You know that.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
No, I know all your I am so perplexed by that,
right know why? Because he just wants to have extra
toilet paper in his house. That's big facts, That's all
of it. I just love buying bulk and they just
got a message I can get buying you.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Rogie. Here the oldest.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
Your favorite movies are old men movies. You buy love buying.
You were like a seventy two year old man and
a thirty five year old man.
Speaker 5 (32:37):
Body now here What Rob g doesn't know if you
go to his house like he stacks up the toilet
paper makes it like furniture.
Speaker 6 (32:44):
Someone you're sitting around. You're sitting on a couch right
out of toilet paper. And you thought Rob Parker was cheap.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Robbie, you better if you after all that, you better
be buying a good toilet paper too.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
No Kirkland everything krikling nah man.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Listen, there's a few things the right.
Speaker 8 (33:02):
Tax bracket down this conversation. What do you mean you
guys make too much money to appreciate buying bolt?
Speaker 6 (33:08):
Do you know what? I got to buy a boat
because once in the while, every once in.
Speaker 5 (33:11):
A while, when I stay at a hotel, a roller
toilet paper happens to get into.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
My position to.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
It just happens to Well, we already know how many
little bottles of shampoo and lotions you have.
Speaker 6 (33:24):
You know what, I haven't bought soap in four years.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
I'm just saying you really haven't see this is okay,
This is where I get upset.
Speaker 5 (33:31):
Alex, Alex. When you go into a hotel, you pay
for that stuff. I know, I'm not taking the hair
dryer home. Okay, it's not that you don't pay for
we get that, but it's also the quality. That's the
worst lotion I've ever there. Just put water in it.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Guess they shake it up.
Speaker 6 (33:46):
Guess who makes that lotion. Jurgis makes the lotion for them.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Like they who makes it? Giving you the low all
of all of all.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
Of like the no brands, like you're going buy a
no name, uh biscuits or whatever Pillsbury makes those most
people don't even know that Pillsbury. They don't want competition,
so they'll make a lower brand, knowing that they can't
sell to everybody, but they still make money off of you.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
They'll do your research and find out we just said
lower brand. I don't want lower brand quality. They don't
pay I'm walking around Ashley again. Even our put lotion on.
Speaker 5 (34:21):
They don't pay for advertising and packaging and all the
other stuff.
Speaker 6 (34:25):
It just says biscuits on the can. It doesn't. It's
just like welfare. I'm just rob gene.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
First of all, back to you. You gotta stop pocket watching. Okay,
I'm ordinary African students America. You swear every time I
say something, you mentioned the tax bracket. Okay, that is
not ordinary African student. Now granted you see how much
I might be pay.
Speaker 6 (34:47):
We're just gonna We're gonna play a simple game. Okay,
yes or no?
Speaker 2 (34:50):
This is about to be level of judgment.
Speaker 6 (34:51):
Number one, do you live in a community?
Speaker 2 (34:55):
Don't we all?
Speaker 6 (34:56):
Don't?
Speaker 7 (34:56):
We?
Speaker 2 (34:57):
Don't we all live in a community? Ax? Tell the amout.
We're all part of the human community. Number two?
Speaker 6 (35:02):
Do you have staff at your home? And the conversation?
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Number three?
Speaker 6 (35:09):
Do your children get a private education?
Speaker 7 (35:12):
No?
Speaker 2 (35:12):
Not not yet. We're school year.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
We're still in this school year, right, don't ask me
down the fall Roi, Roger. If you saw what was
on my screen right now when I was literally having
to fill out literally as we speak, you'll be disappointed.
And I tell you what when I turned into uh,
how we tell Antonio Daniels a hustle and his man.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Job or what? Yeah, I will be like a fourth
but yeah, I'm looking at uh what they want.
Speaker 6 (35:41):
I put a lot of people through school.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
He has I need.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
I need the tricks of the trade. Putting, the putting
these girls through school except mine and my daughters exactly.
I don't want you put other people through school.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
Anyway, Robberie. I am an ordinary African student.
Speaker 6 (35:57):
I think Glitter is about to get a master's degree.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
So that's what she been in school twelve years.
Speaker 10 (36:02):
About time she keep telling you, Daddy, You're never gonna
believe this. I need another semester, like, oh, another one, Glitter,
Come on, Glitter. It didn't take Cinnamon as long.
Speaker 6 (36:15):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
You know, Ginger got through much faster than you. What's
going on? Girl?
Speaker 6 (36:20):
You know Rob's been frequenting these places for so long.
He knows the mom and the daughter. O God, No,
why are you gonna do like that?
Speaker 2 (36:31):
You know your mother? You know you know. I've been
coming here since nineteen ninety seven.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
I remember when your mom would have you in the
back in the stroller, all them.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
I've been covering this way since nineteen eighty seven.
Speaker 6 (36:44):
I heard having problems with her husband.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Talk about it, talk about it. She's still with him.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
You guys are so you guys are sick? Hey, rob
Gi he said we're sick, but he ain't said we're right.
He's just like I'll dare you Just see how dare
y'all put me out there? Just see that you're talking
about it. That's what makes you say. And robb g
back to you with my last fifteen seconds. Everybody had,
don't ever done. Everybody has staff, some people pay for
you know, yard working all that, right, right?
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Not me, not me.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Don't do me like that, Robb gi me anyway. Enjoying
the Caliperi and uh Patino game tomorrow
