the program.

Speaker 8 (04:33):
And of course heard of them who Elijah. Elijah's guru,
one of the best in the business. So by the way,
we treat.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Him all good. All right, Uh so we got a
great show to talk about.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Let's start here with the NFL and Gino Smith got
a new two year, seventy five million dollar contract like
the six million guaranteed, right, not thirty three and a
half each year.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
That's and I think most people will say that's fair
for Gino. He's had a nice for the most part,
three years, pretty solid three years.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
They had to come back because he was bad for
a while and nobody thought he was any good, and
then he had to what he doing.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
He led the league in completion percentage.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
Remember that he's had a solid, you know, solid couple
of years as a starter.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
But solid ain't great.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
Solid ain't great.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
And when I heard this, the first thing I thought was,
is Pete Carroll retired or is he coaching? If you're
a Raiders fan, you gotta say Pete is coming to
Las Vegas to give us the same old, warmed over

(05:42):
leftovers that he had in Seattle?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Or was Pete coming.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
To Las Vegas to develop a quarterback that would take
the Raiders into the future. That's what I would want
from a Super Bowl winning quarterback. And Pete Carroll not
warmed over leftovers. Is Gino an upgrade from what they

(06:10):
had last year?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
But guess what, Raiders fans, you still have the worst
quarterback in the division. I'm just talking facts. Is this
gonna be a rehashed job? Will he have an easy
boy on the sidelines? I thought Pete Carroll was gonna

(06:36):
be ener judge, roll up his sleeves and say, I'm
gonna do the Raiders fan base, the Raiders nation a
solid I'm gonna give you when I leave, I'm gonna
have a quarterback in place.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Moving forward.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
And that won't be an issue with the Raiders, which
it has been for year years now getting a quarterback.
Gino's fine, he's serviceable. But that's the best you can do.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Is that? Is that all it is?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
I'm disappointed if this is the game plan for the Raiders.
Are they really better? Who are they climbing over next season?
Because of the moves they've made and because they added
Pete Carroll, I don't see it.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
Well. I think Pete Carroll is in dangging. I'm about
to dance with the girl that brought me, because I
think he looks at this offense and I think he
looks specifically at Garden Minshew and saying.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Hey't nobody get tamped for that?

Speaker 5 (07:42):
Ain't nobody got time for guard Minchew. When you look
at gard Minshew yards that he had, you know how
the yards he had, it looked like a year twenty thirteen,
twenty and thirteen yards of what he had. And he said, nagging,
if I'm going down, I'm about to go down fighting
with somebody I know. Gino come here, come on here,
and you know what, Max Crosby man, I just want

(08:03):
to go play. I want to compete. I want to win.
U uh y'all make sure y'all resign Max Crosby, he
ain't going nowhere. Pete Carroll is trying to have some stability,
something he can roll out there and say is better
than this, Because Daggy, when you look at the Raiders offense,
first of all, they were four and thirteen triz ash,
twenty ninth in points in the league, twenty ninth of

(08:26):
thirty two teams. Guess what else there are twenty ninth
in total offense, twenty seventh in yards, And so I
think Pete Carroll's coming in and saying, look, year one,
I know we're not about to be you know, like
you mentioned, we're not gonna be the number one division.
We're not gonna beat the Chiefs. The Chiefs are the Chiefs,
and until they're dethrown really in the AFC. Obviously they
got to the Super Bowl, got their head smacked, but

(08:48):
until they're dethrown in the AFC, the Chiefs are the Chiefs. Chargers.
They got better, you know, they got Najie Harris, they've
got some more weapons on the offensive end, and it's
another year with Jim Harball. You figure they're going to
be better. And as you mentioned, you got boat Knicks
who had a way out the blue better. Uh the campaign,
rookie campaign. You thought, got to the postseason and you figure, okay,

(09:10):
the Broncos might be cooking. So I think Pete Carroll
said to myself himself, I ain't going out there with nothing,
So Danga give me that guy, Keith Max Crosby. Let's
find a couple of pieces. So far they've been able
to sign a couple of pieces and be at least
competitive in year one, so that we have some momentum
and going in the right direction year two. I ain't
saying this the best, but he went with that old

(09:33):
classic pizza shop you like in your neighborhood. It ain't
the best, per se. It ain't the Gormey one that's
fifty five dollars for a large, But Dagan, I'm about
to go with the one I know, and it always
at least it's solid.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
I'm glad you brought that up with it.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
I bring I mean, I better said a lot. The
pizza thing, okay.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Cause it's not Gino's pizza that Pete Carroll's delivering.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
He delivering cold pizza. That's what he's bringing to the table.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Some people like Cole Pizza.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
I mean, really, do you if you're a Raiders fan,
are you excited?

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Oh my god? And you're right as bad as bad?

Speaker 5 (10:08):
How bad it is? I think they are, and.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
You are they better than any of the teams in
that division.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Called Rob G right now, he's an only Raider fan.
I know.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Rob G will be happy because the furniture store isn't
going to be quarterback Gardner minshew.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
And let me just tell everybody that's a Detroit, Michigan
Gardner White. It's a furniture store in Michigan.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
That's what I think of whenever I say I can't
help it.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Well, I'm shocking. You brought that one him. You didn't
say Kazu Tech, Oh thank you? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
That's how bad it is, Robert. They got Gino and
they're like, you know what, that ain't half bad?

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Eight seven seven nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
Where are you on?

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Pete Carroll tired old delivering cold pizza? Did you think
something else was gonna happen? He was maybe gonna help
to develop a quarterback or not.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Pete said, ain't nobody got time for developing?

Speaker 8 (11:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (11:06):
He ain't got time for it, is right.

Speaker 5 (11:08):
Literally, I meaning the brother's seventy what three seventy four?
He ain't got time for the rebuils like that.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
I thought the Raiders were trying to make a move,
not to give Pete Carroll a nice retirement package on
his way out, all right, eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox It is The Odd Couple on a TV

happening right now. Coming to you live from the tirerack
dot Com Studios.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
All I do know is you have to check is diaper.

just hit one. Yeah it look like Judge just yeah,
Judge just did what he does. All right, we're taking calls.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
You got the Raiders, Pete Carroll, They of course signed
Gino spid three years I think seventy something million. The
question is that a good signing? Is it? Did it if?
For Raider fans? Is it moving the needle? Are you
least happy you got a capable QB or not?

Speaker 2 (12:52):
That ain't it? Pete?

Speaker 5 (12:52):
We needed more who we got? Eight seven, seven ninety
nine On Fizzox.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Jim and Oakland. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Jim?

Speaker 6 (13:01):
I think I just vomited in my mouth.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Hey, I've done that. I understand, Jim, I had a Glizzie.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
In my mouth.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
So last year they were four and thirteen, So he's
gonna move the needle and they're gonna they're gonna be
like seven and ten, right, yes, yes, and and and
what were they doing with Derek Carr Every year? They
were like seven and nine eight nine, right, Jim, So

(13:36):
go ahead, go ahead and get Jackson Dart And I'm happy.

Speaker 6 (13:39):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
So you're paying him sixty or eighty million bucks for
two years because he's got some experience. And last year
they won six out of their last eight games, the
Seahawks did, and he's got some experience. But I mean,
you got to get some other quarterbacks in there. But
I just no one's available.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
I just that's a big thing too. There is. We
know Aaron Rodgers is still holding the stealers hots. Just
hold on, he's a free agent. He ain't holding Nobody
hostives them, Mike Tom, And I'm so mad at you
right now, Mike Tom.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
You understand he knows what he's doing.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Who next?

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Uh, Sean in Sacramento. You're in the couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Sean?

Speaker 9 (14:21):
Yeah, my going from another brother cousin, kill me. My
brother's buying the board. Man, I'm too puffed up for
this odd Thruftle reunion.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
I like that. I like that.

Speaker 9 (14:31):
I'm so excited. Man, y'all, y'all my favorite polyamorous group
ever on the radio. Man, but really quick, ye, God
doesn't listening to the Inside the Partner podcast. Man, Michael Harris,
the second Gordon win Meyer, you killing it right now.
Everybody download that catching on YouTube tomorrow morning, right and early.
But other than that, man, look, the Seahawks are out

(14:53):
of their mind. I'm sorry, the Raiders.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
Are out of their minds all it's gonna come in now.

Speaker 9 (14:58):
We've seen this thing so dance in Seattle for years.
And you take away elite wide receivers from the equation,
you take away an elite defense, and what do you have.

Speaker 10 (15:08):
You have the.

Speaker 9 (15:09):
Raiders looking silly signing this man for three years and
that much money. Whatever really comes out to be when
you're you got a lottery pick right now, Man, you
got a top ten pick right now in the draft,
make the correct draft move. They should have went even
harder for Aaron Rodgers, who I think would have been
a much better mentor that would have fit much better
with Tom Brady at the help. This just this just

(15:30):
goes to show you no matter how did you are
a football Tom Brady, it doesn't mean you'll be a
good front office guy.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
No.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
I just don't see where the direction where they're going home, dinner,
maybe a show, but it at a first place.

Speaker 5 (15:43):
Yeah, and they know they like eight and o'connells so much.
I know they're keeping like they're kind of still feel
like he might be able to be something at some point.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
What's up right?

Speaker 10 (15:55):
Hey, what's going on? Thanks for taking a call.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
Listen.

Speaker 10 (15:57):
One of the things that I say, it's not that
you lose, it's how you lose. Okay, And we're bringing
in Geno Smith. I feel it's about stability. As the
other calls have said, they're not trying to light the
world on fire. They're not going for broke. They don't
want to start some sort of perception war that they're
going to be competing with the Chiefs because they're not. Okay,
Pete Carroll wants to come in and do what he does,
which is bring stability, bring a culture, and from there

(16:20):
build it up. He wants to be in these close
competitive games where it's been proven in the past he
can scheme out a couple of wins just based on
his ability to motivate players and get them to execute
in crucial moments. So Geno Smith, as they did with
Seattle did they were not a contending team, but they
surprised a lot of people.

Speaker 6 (16:37):
I e.

Speaker 10 (16:38):
A team like the Rams.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Ye, but why not build something that he can leave behind, like.

Speaker 5 (16:43):
Children's franchise, rob An Inheritance.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Hey, Dre, is there anything we should say to Christmas
saw it?

Speaker 6 (16:53):
Chris?

Speaker 4 (16:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
I don't know, Chris.

Speaker 10 (16:54):
You're starting that he could be convinced on this one.
But I just see Pete Carroll doing what he does.
He's gonna come in. He's a Geno Smith is a
bridge quarterback. Pete Carroll is a bridge coach to get
them into competitiveness and maybe hold on. So he's getting
up there to make them possibly and tender going forward.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
Taking the call.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
Appreciate you, I think, yeah, he didn't get with you.
In general, were saying christ is coming up after Chris.
Ain't gotta be.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Q in Phoenix. You're the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up? Cute?

Speaker 4 (17:24):
What's happening to fellas?

Speaker 11 (17:27):
I'm super groovy.

Speaker 6 (17:30):
Listen.

Speaker 11 (17:32):
I don't know what quarterback is available to make them,
uh move the needle. But I feel like, just if
you can draft a quarterback, just go ahead and draft
the quarterback and.

Speaker 6 (17:49):
And groom them.

Speaker 11 (17:50):
And because I mean, who's out there? It's Aaron Rodgers.
Ain't baby sitting Nobody Aaron Rodgers coming if you want.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
To just I just don't see where you're going with
Gino Smith. Is it just to hold of place?

Speaker 2 (18:03):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
You know, I get what you're saying.

Speaker 11 (18:06):
But who's available better than.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
Yeah, that's the thing. I gotta put somebody out there
to at least a lot of fans that have we
got something going on. And Daggy beethrowing Garden to bless
you about there. Obviously he's not there anymore. But what
was I gonna do? Will Garden bless you out there?
Because they have to call you.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Thank you, buddy, appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
He gets it all right. We got, as you mentioned,
Chris Brussard, what they call a trumple, the odd thrupple,
I'm a little moist right now. He don't start that
as he gonna get right on and get right off.
The blood, bad boy blood is beating what.

Speaker 3 (18:41):

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (19:18):
I know that Ron Parker didn't go side drop you
know what?

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Alex.

Speaker 6 (19:30):
Shout out to Alex for remembering what what time it is? Man?

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Yes, what's happened to?

Speaker 5 (19:36):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (19:37):
Bruce?

Speaker 6 (19:39):
Man, I'm so honored. I really feel honored to be
on the high couple. Man, I'm excited. This is this
is fun. Man. How y'all doing?

Speaker 5 (19:47):
Man? We're good man. We told you remember in the beginning,
we talked about it. He said, you ain't going to
where you know you'll be back seven sevens. And I
tell you what, man.

Speaker 6 (19:57):
I was wondering what took so long man, I've been well.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
We just figured we'll give you some time. And uh,
this was the right time.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
NBA is gearing up a lot of stuff going on,
So we said, we gotta get Chris on uh to
have you talk some NBA with us.

Speaker 5 (20:11):
I don't want to talk an BA. I want to
talk to New Orleans, all right, So.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
He got we got a problem. Let christ go ahead,
go ahead, Chris, here we go.

Speaker 6 (20:19):
We were gonna talk about and the torpedo bat.

Speaker 10 (20:25):
No.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Hey, hey, we'll get to some actual sports in a minute.
We had we had an eating sport. I gotta ask
you about. You were in New Orleans. Remember we were
all in New Orleans. We had breakfast that morning and
everybody got their food and everybody's having a good time.
And Rob over here, Hey, Rob G, are those pancakes
as if they would be anything else?

Speaker 6 (20:44):
Brew?

Speaker 5 (20:44):
Do you remember this? And then, without hesitating, Rob G
cuts that man a nice triangular piece of.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Panda, put it in my mouth.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
And then he fared this man, Rod Parker. Do you
remember this?

Speaker 6 (20:55):
He did not, Chris, I do remember that. I do
remember that. And Rob, as you said, he was eating
up Rob's pancake. He hung with us during the morning,
he made sure he met me for breakfast, and then
at nighttime he disappeared. And you know, I don't know

(21:16):
what he was doing, but he was He wasn't trying
to hang with me in the night time.

Speaker 5 (21:20):
No, I can't vouch for anything after nine oh, after
nine o'clock, I can't vouch.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
You thought he went to his hotel room, because that's
how he played it. But after you and Rob g
went to your rooms, he dipped out around nine forty five.

Speaker 5 (21:35):
Oh, I don't even want to tell you what happened
when we first got there. And the very first thing
I'm talking is funny, this is real. The very first thing,
we just get it there from the airport, getting the
cab Chris, we get to the hotel. All we got
to pay him. We only have venmo only O.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Hey, we wanted and we want to receipt and we
wanted receipts and he was like, you want to see
you want can you pay cash?

Speaker 5 (21:55):
And Rob pulls out a lot of what a lot
of ones? And my man says, bro, he said, end
that quote, what are you going to the strip club?
And We're like, alrighty, we've been in New Orleans eleven minutes.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
Right right, that is not surprising at all at all. Man.
But hey, man, I do listen to y'all, and y'all
are doing a fantastic job. Man, don't just keep up
the great work. Appreciate you, brother, And I'm proud to
have been connected with the Hot couple because y'all representing

(22:28):
to the fullest.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Well, that's awesome, Yes, seriously, it is. It's a big
shoes to continue to show. But I think we're having
fun and the odd couple is still in the same
kind of form when you.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Were here, So it's a great appreciate that. Yep.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Let's talk to the NBA with you Lakers Warriors tonight.
What do you make of the Warriors because we've had
a topic the other night that Jimmy Butler kind of
save stuff. You know, they were going nowhere, Chris, you
remember that you were talking about maybe trading out Steph
somewhere to a contender and Jimmy Butler shows up.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Do you like those Warriors? Are they a scary team
or second round and out?

Speaker 6 (23:12):
Well, I probably would say second round and out. I
do think they're dangerous. I do think they're scary. I
like the Lakers better. Okayse is interesting because obviously they
look like the best team in the West, if not
the league. But they're so young, you know, like they

(23:33):
would be the youngest team even to reach the finals,
let alone win the finals. So I have questions about that.
I personally feel like they are a year away. Like
I think they could win it next year, but this year,
I just feel like they have it taking their lumps.
They have it. They don't have enough experience and they

(23:55):
only got one star and so that's gonna be tough
on SGA to to carry those young guys to the finals.
But I like the Lakers where Golden State they're one
of their big problems is they don't match up well
with Denver and they lost nine straight games to the Nuggets.

(24:19):
If they can avoid yeah, if they can avoid the Nuggets,
they could get to the conference finals and maybe, you know,
maybe have a chance to get out. If they get
that far, then you gotta give them a chance. A
lot of it depends on Butler, like is he playoff
Jimmy or is he just you know, not quite at that.

(24:40):
He has to be playoff Jimmy for them to have
a shot. I give him a shot, But I like
the Lakers and Denver probably better and maybe even okay See.
But the Warriors are two and one against okay See
this year, and now all three of those games were
before Butler got there, so we move the Golden State
is better. So that's that's from matchup that they're not

(25:02):
afraid of.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
Yeah, you listen, you mentioned how young they are they
being the Thunder. Their starting age is younger than a
couple of these teams and that were in college that
we just saw in March Madness. Chris Brussar first thing's
first FS one is joining the I couple. Of course
the odd thruple today, as Sean Sean called it, Let
me ask you this, Bruce, are we all just having

(25:25):
fun entertaining the Warriors, entertaining the Lakers, entertaining Thunder. It's
a seven game series. Do you believe that there's a
team that can ultimately beat the Celtics in seven games?
Not a good question, but ultimately best of seven?

Speaker 6 (25:41):
I do. I do, And I'm not saying that the
Celtics can't win it. I definitely think they're the best
team in the East. Oklahoma City if they get to
the finals is a tough matchup for Boston because they
defend a three pointer better than anybody in the league.
And Boston has struggled against ok SE because they haven't

(26:05):
been able to hit threes against them. And oka SEE
won the season series two to zero and even beat
them in Boston without Jalen Williams, their second best player.
So OKC could beat him the Lakers. Right now, I
feel like I'm leaning Boston over the Lakers. But if
the Lakers get to the finals, that means they're playing well,

(26:29):
they're playing great, and Luca is a tremendous playoff performer.
He just is. He used to kill Kawhi and Paul
George when they were both at their ultimate defensive powers.
And so if Lebron Lebron hasn't played that well since
he's been back from injury, but before that he was

(26:52):
playing great. If he gets back to that level, I
think I'd give the Lakers a shot against the Celtics. Two.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Oh, you're real high on the Lakers. I'm just not
that high defensively, Chris and some other stuff. I'm just
I hear you like and when you look at all
time grade and their stats and where they're gonna fit
in on the in the NBA. I'm just not sure
if they matched up with Denver or something like that,

(27:19):
they be able.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
They'd have a guy out for the joker. That would
be my issue with the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
But let me ask you this, And we talked about
this the other day too, and I said that Zion
is officially a bust to me and Chris, I just
think I just think going forward, he's not gonna wind
up to live up to be the guy we thought

(27:45):
he was coming out of college. Not that when he's played,
he's played well, but he's not two hundred and fifty
eight games and only played two hundred and fourteen, and
of course he's out for the rest of the year.
Do you think he'll ever develop and beat a guy
that he was was supposed to be or not?

Speaker 6 (28:03):
Well, he may never be what he was supposed to be.
I will grant you that, because people thought, you know,
they were saying he was a top twenty player when
he was in college, you know, a top twenty player
in the world. So I don't know that he'll be,
you know, one of those guys that leads teams to
multiple championships, to say the least. But when you said bus,

(28:26):
it kind of stuck. You know, it struck me because
the only like the thing is the injuries, right, you know,
and some of that's on him. He has to lose
the weight, no doubt. But when he's played, he has
been great for.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Sure, all right, I get that. But he's got he's
got two hundred and fourteen games played, two fifty eight minutes.

Speaker 6 (28:48):
Yeah, and.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Said no, no, I said, I just say three to fifty.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
Yeah no.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
But but the issue I have Chris is I just
I don't know. As you get older, you know, it's
harder with the wade.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
And I don't know.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
He's a young guy, don't get me wrong, but I
don't know if he's ever gonna uh, you know, just
snap into shape and be the guy or be that
guy going forward.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
So that's another thing.

Speaker 6 (29:13):
Yeah, I hear you. I think I think he can. He'll,
like I said, he'll probably never be that transient, transcendent
face of the league type player that we thought he
could be coming out of college. I just hope he
gets to play consistently because if he does, I do

(29:33):
think he can make multiple All Star teams. Absolutely right,
He's really good when he plays. But he might, you
know him obviously, Joe l EMBII, maybe even John Moran.
Those are guys that need to change of scenery, and
so you know, maybe he'll get moved somewhere and be

(29:56):
able to start anew but he certainly hasn't been with
people expected, there's no doubt.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
Yeah, Chris Broussard again, first things first, of course you
already know the familiarity of that voice. C B Man.
You know what, by the way, I think we talked
about it several times, Robin Nin I think, and they're
gonna be a documentary on it at some point. I
guarantee all these guys we can name Derrick Rose, Blake,
Griffin Zion, all these number one picks, Ben Simmons, I
think they play way too much basketball their whole lives.

(30:23):
Gian ain't supposed to been jumping that high that long
for all these years, and that's why these guys can't
stay and be all these young guys can't stay healthy.
That's the story for another day. Sixty point triple double
thirty twenty twenty. I mean, he's doing amazing stuff talking
about the Joker SGA three years straight, thirty plus points
first person since MJ. Where are you coming down as

(30:45):
we wind down this season on the MVP vote?

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Do you ever vote Chris this year?

Speaker 6 (30:50):
Yeah? I do. I am voting this year. I'm going
with SGA, and look, Joker obviously has had an MVP
caliber season, but I'm gonna go with SGA for a
few reasons. One, he's leading the league in scoring by
more than two points a game. He's doing it efficiently,
shooting fifty. He's fifth in steels. Now Joker is in

(31:15):
the top three in points, rebounds, assistance. Yeah, statistically, Joker
got a huge argument, But SGA, in addition to being
top five and steals, he is an elite defender like
he is. He's a better defender than Joker. He's one
of the best defenders in the league. And guys is

(31:35):
he is leading. As I said, what would be the
youngest team ever to get to the finals. They're the
youngest team to win sixty games. Ever, he doesn't have
a second Perennial All Star, and if he was to
win the championship, he would be only the fourth person

(31:56):
in the modern era Kareem Jordan's Shack who led his
team in scoring and won the championship the same or
led the league in scoring and won the championship the
same year. Hadn't been done in twenty five years. But
here's the cuncher with that young team that has no

(32:17):
championship pedigree, whereas Joker has a team that has plenty
of championship pedigree. SGA has. They have a seventeen and
a half game lead over Denver and narrow pace to
win sixty nine games. Could be the first team, you know,
thirteen to win seventy or more so for and And

(32:40):
also this in because it's true. Typically, and I've been
a voter for almost thirty years, when there is and
and there are two guys this year who deserve to
who have had MVP seasons. When it's that close, typically
the nine goes to the guy if they there is

(33:00):
one who hasn't won it before. That's why Jordan didn't
win it ten years. Bran only won four. Right, So
I'm going with sg A. Jokers had a ridiculous season.
But I got to look at the team's success and
then just the fact that SGA is deserving but hadn't

(33:21):
won one before.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
Christ to believe voter fatigue, I've been telling.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
He's not about voter for Tiga, but he didn't say
he's not voting for him, because he said, people vote
for the new guys. Like just like I think everybody
winning b one of Chris after that run by the Joker,
everybody a lot of people's second guests. Would you agree
with that, Chris, that people did second guests? Uh, the
Joker didn't get it that year, but he wound up winning.

(33:47):
All right, as you know, we're out of time here.
We'll have you on as always were. Appreciate you, Chris,
thanks sir, watching you on to just one of them,
uh in the afternoons.

Speaker 6 (33:59):
I love it, guys, keep up the great work and
please have me on again. I love being on with y'all.
And I'll be.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
Listed all right, Yeah for sure. Tell nick I said,
what's up? And I'm pulling up on y'all. Now tell
them up.

Speaker 6 (34:11):
We're not giving up.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
We're not giving him an embrace like Lebron.

Speaker 6 (34:14):
That don't never happen, right, love that made that may.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
O god year.

Speaker 5 (34:21):
You mean his life, his career, what you mean?

Speaker 2 (34:24):
All right?

Speaker 5 (34:25):
All right, appreciate you see me, Chris Brusa right there,
of course, the great CB right there. Appreciate him joining us.

owing three last night, bad not. I'm now eighty four
and eighty nine on the I was wrong. I was
wrong tonight. We need a hat trick, a bounce back. Thursday,
Memphis Grizzlies minus five and a half.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
We'll do that. Okay, they're in Miami. I think they're
losing as we speak.

Speaker 5 (36:14):
But all right, Miami, it was six or eight straight.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
But it's only Look at that's only a five.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
Oh yeah, no, no, I'm just saying Miami's playing Washington plus
fifteen and a half.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
They're hosting the Magic.

Speaker 5 (36:28):
They had a nerd to get a win last time.
I know what the heck.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
I'm like, they'll lose, but can you can you happy?
Cover fifteen? All right?

Speaker 1 (36:37):
And in Minnesota the t Wolves minus thirteen and a half?
Uh taking on the nets in Brooklyn? So I got
t Wolves minus thirteen and a half, Timber the Warriors,
the Warriors, the Wizards plus fifteen and a half. And
then it sounds like that Christmas maybe about blue blue
and then the Grizzlies minus five and a half. And remember, Calvin,
what's that I'm not telling you who the battle telling them,

(37:00):
I'm telling you the.

Speaker 5 (37:02):
Blood, bad boy, blood is beating. You haven't done radio
long enough until you have that moment like or you're
just trying to say something.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
That's why I always tell people too, it happened live TV,
live radio. Let's say this. The NBA got it right.

Speaker 5 (37:19):
Yeah, they got it right. We're talking about John Morant
and uh but that wrong.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
We're ripping on him. So let's give him credit.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
Buddy Hill din' heave every Buddy Hill was on the
bench with the Warriors, did the whole little gun thing, yep,
taunting John Morant. John Morant did it back. The league say, hey,
cut it out, don't do that. We know what's doing.
We know it wasn't any violent, violent intentions with that,
but they gave him a warning. I thought that was perfect,
you know what I mean. Don't go crazy. Job's been
doing everything they asked to him. He's standing out the way,

(37:46):
no craziness. Don't go suspend him for two games or
something for that. So I thought that I've comployed. I
applaud Adam Siever and the whole crew or whatever for
how they handled that. The NBA got it right, got
it right. We'll get on their backs about the next thing,
But they did get that one right show. Hey oh,
we gotta talk about it. Fox Sports Radio
