He will be joining us later on and one's Gotta Go.
Any hint as to what gendre or whatever?

Speaker 4 (01:26):
What are we? What are we talking about in this one?
What's that one's gotta go with?

Speaker 5 (01:31):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Oh, don't worry about. I can't teach you.

Speaker 6 (01:33):
I guess it's a it's a painful thing, the things
that we all do. And you gotta say, one's gotta go.
That's the worst one. It's got to get out of here.
So that'll it'll make sense a little bit later.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
On painful things.

Speaker 6 (01:48):
All these things happen. We all have these things happen.
Which is the worst, Which one's got to go, it's
got to get out of here.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Divorce, I'm sorry. I don't think we've all through. I'm sorry.
Yeah that was personal. That was just me.

Speaker 6 (02:04):
You say that, But I don't know how I feel
like you're you're happy, But.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
Yeah, I'm happy you got there.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
You know what, that's a great way of bringing it,
because seriously, because I understand if you never fell in love,
you never got married, and you're chasing that your whole lot,
I could understand where somebody could feel like empty or
feel like they're missing something. I just don't have that

(02:33):
feeling because I married the the only woman I said,
I love you too, do you know what I mean?
I know what it feels like. You know, when they
say what do you know? You know like young guys,
well what do you know?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
You just know? You know that, you just know, and
you also know what it ain't right you do.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I'm so there's a part of me that I feel
blessed that I was in that situation to have experienced it,
to have experience so I know what it feels like,
I know what it's about.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
But I'm not going to re enter that and not
have that same feeling. Does that make.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
Sense that you've been there? So if I want to
do it, I have to have that. I have to
have that right. No, Okay, this is it exactly. Not
just I want a roommate. I want somebody to help
pay the bills. You know, people, she has medical insurance,
you know, like like you know what, people start making
business deals like all right, shoot, well okay, he got

(03:30):
the good medical.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
She got good medical. All right, he's got a nice
he's got a medium in Florida. We get to hang
out in Miami. Three, got a credit score.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
You know what? I needed new cars?

Speaker 6 (03:40):
What you say you said it was what it said, ay, okay, okay,
good credits.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
You know, we can make this work. You know what
I'm saying. So so she cook, I work. We're happy.
So it's it's that's funny.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Yeah, I think I'm being real with it. But that
but but so that, so there's that moment there. But
you don't want to get to horse. But sometimes it happens.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
All right, it does have what happens at a high
rate here in the States, so it does. Gracious, Well,
let's get to the football and the Giants. So Chador
Sanders had a meeting with the Giants.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Right, Yeah, it's getting confusing.

Speaker 6 (04:16):
You've had people come out and say they thought they
were getting to a point where Shador Sanders is not
really it's gonna be an option for the Giants, that is,
if they're moving on now they're having private meetings with him.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
But then because they got Jameis Winston and uh and
Russ Russell.

Speaker 6 (04:31):
Yeah, so you start to figure though that that becomes
a conversation.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
So do you go You went and.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Got those two guys, and now you're going to draft
a quarterback and that's what.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
You're thinking is Russ he's still relatively young. You know
what I mean, he could be our guy for the
next three four years. Obviously, Jamis Jamis is just a
perpetual backup. Like that's where he's perfect, just back up.
Just can't He's not gonna turns the ball over and
you're every now and again.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
And then the.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Cleveland game, remember who they play, can remember he had
touchdowns and four picks exactly, touchdowns and five picks.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Whatever.

Speaker 6 (05:03):
End you a game running in the snow, jumping in
the end zone. You know, you're like, man, all right,
you know what? Maybe and then he turns it over
like Lord helped me with these turnovers. So I mean,
you just he's You're happy, he's your backup. You got
a very capable backup in ja case something happens. So
there becomes the question.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
And if you're the Giants, right, they have the three
number three pick, yep.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
And the consensus as if we stand here is cam wore.
We know that gonna go to Tennessee, which is hilarious
that they're right back in the quarterback market after getting
the quarterback, but cam Ward there, And by the way,
is cam Ward the most least discussed number one pick
in the history of number one picks. Yes, nobody talks
about cam Ward. So there's that, and then that Cleveland
would go and get Travis Hunter. So then it becomes, well,

(05:46):
if that's the case and you're the Giants and your
quarterback of the potential future just sitting there, do you
go get him or do you say there's other positions
to be feeled.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Right, but also like the idea, at what happens if
Cleveland doesn't take Travis. Now you start to now the question,
and that's what we want to ask, is what would
you do? Because the Giants have already said that they
would be open to him playing both sides of the field. Right,

(06:18):
So now if you're the Giants.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
They're buttering that up to they're buttering this thing up,
you know what I mean, you got to start to
put the but the butter and the skillet. Let it
melt a little bit, just letting you know, I'm ready.
They're throwing it out there. Hey, Travis, just in case
Cleveland does something else, get Carter a defensive end to
pair up with Miles Garrett or something, or they go
get somebody else.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
We didn't think the running back.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
You got to be prepared because you know you're not
sure if And the question really is, if you're the Giants,
would you do it?

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Would you take your door? Say? Both are events, both
are available at three? Who do you take?

Speaker 6 (06:54):
That is a difficult one because you comes down to
how you feel about.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Russ You have a quarterback or do you go? It
doesn't matter who you have. And you know what's funny
when Michael Jordan wasn't drafted number one or two where
Keene was number one right and number two with Sam Buie.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
But Portland the reason that they took.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Sam right yep is because they already had Clyde Drexler.
And so that's what And then I'm gonna say when
Michael Jordan was there, you know what I mean? You go,
I don't care if I have Clyde drex I'll trade
Clyde Drexler first.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Knowing what we know now.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
No, But I'm just saying, so that's the same vein
here is, Yes, I have Russell Wilson. Yes I have
Jameis Winston. Who's the backup? So I'm not really I
have Russell Wilson. Here's a guy we might have and
have a guy it could beat our quarterback for the
next twelve or fourteen years for the New York Football Giants.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
That that's the question, yeah, or do you get a
one of a kind generational talent can do both sides
of the ball? You fantastic in the city, popular, you
know what I mean? Like he would have have the
team as far as popularity, commercials and all that.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
You know that's gonna come with you and you would
you would help two spots.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
On the team, right potentially, Yeah, But at the end
of the day, for me, I'm going should do. And
the reason why I'm going should do is again, I'm
just a fan of I think that he is a
Deshaun Watson like where all he kept doing was winning
and winning, but everybody kept questioning it. It's almost like
Lamar Jackson. Not that he's that type of player, so

(08:33):
don't look at that. But what I meant was Lamar
was one of Heisman next year, was a Heisman candidate
and just kind of kept winning. And you know in
Louisville obviously wasn't gonna win at national title with he
was just like sitting there, Hello, I'm really good, but
you're like, nah, you kept overthinking Nah, I just don't
think Nah, I don't know why is he a real quarterback?
And to me, should do I'm not saying he's Andrew
lucka given. That's a whole different thing.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Did you talk to different people and some people don't
even think he's a first run right, But I'm like,
it's I don't know how you could have that big
of a gap as far as the talent evaluate tryphe
it could be like, Okay, yeah he's the first round,
but it would be lower in the first round from
him where he's top five.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Some people he's twenty fifth. Totally, we've heard it.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
But I think a part of that rob is because
he had unconventional He was at Jackson State.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
It doesn't matter where you should play, I mean, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
So he didn't go from like cause as we had
a transfer, but he didn't go from Colorado to then
Oklahoma where you okay, we've seen that him to go
to Jackson State. People always going to dismiss it. Well,
he had big numbers, but he was Jackson State, you
know what I mean. And then he goes to Colorado.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
They won one game.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Then was a really good quarterback and he played at
all caring yep State, right, I mean.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
And That's what I think should do is he's de
dealing with like, all right, so you go to from
Jackson State and he just simply following his father. So
if his father went to Alabama, he would have gone
to Alabama.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Would he have had success there?

Speaker 6 (09:52):
And I believe so, So I'd rather have Look, I
want to have a guy that if Russ is the guy,
we say, we don't want to run out you right
now to get beat down. We have a perfect guy
in Russ. He could cheat him. You know, professionalism, he's
been there, he knows the game. He's been in this
league for a long time. He's a veteran schador. Can
watch this, watch him for a year. But we have
our guy in the future. We got moleague neighbors, we

(10:13):
got some running backs. We want to get this offense going.
Let your door kind of mature into this. He has swagger.
He has to me, what what could pop in New
York if it's going well? And I just believe you'll
have a guy that could be your guy for the
next five to eight years. And to me, that's what
they've been missing, right a guy that you can say,
there's our quarterback the city can get behind and you

(10:35):
can finally have something and allstra doors won high school,
Jackson State Colorado wins one game the year before he
gets there, they win six seven six, and then the
next year last year, they went nine, and they look
good and had nerves to try to be competing in
the in the college play game.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
So to me, he's just won every step of the way.

Speaker 6 (10:53):
Everybody who talks to him says he's a great kid,
he works hard, you never question his intellect and is
you know, he's just obviously not again, he's not a
dynamic athlete like Lamar Jackson. So to me, I'm going
there to say, breathe, I got the guy. And my
last point, Robin, you know, I keep saying this, most
of the quarterbacks who come in and are good lately,
they have thirty forty forty five starts under the belt.

(11:16):
Gone to the days you only started your halfway through
your junior year and then your senioryear these guys would
transpport another years and COVID years. They're getting a bunch
of start and then they're coming in the league and
they're having success because they're played a lot of college football,
not just that one year.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Because I was next in line at this school.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
So he's got a bunch of starts, bunch of leadership,
bunch of qualities that I like, and I can go.
We got a guy for some years that we can
build around. We got neighbors, we got some running backs.
Let's keep building. And I don't have to rush him
out there because I got Russ and I have Jamis.
If he were to get hurt or something, I don't
have to rush the door out there.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
I look at it as Travis Hana. So once in
a lifetime situation like facing you where you could have
that and you still have a quarterback, you know what
I mean? For like you said, a couple of years
and everybody, most people view this as a week quarterback draft,

(12:11):
would you admit that they do?

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (12:14):
So if you, I mean, you know they do when
we don't even talk about Cam Worton. That's what I'm saying, right,
So that could buy you.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
A couple of years and then you could also at
a quarterback at some other time or draft one later,
you know what I mean. Like, there's a lot of stuff,
but that's a special player. It's hard for me to
take a look and pass it up. I'd at that
we're at we're at well Chador is not like I'm
not saying he's not talented, but is he special? Did

(12:44):
he win the Heisman?

Speaker 4 (12:46):
Do you know what I mean? Like accolades and all
the stuff that that uh, Travis Hunter, he.

Speaker 6 (12:53):
Kind of reminds me of peak Russ, where it isn't
special per se. Russ was never the fastest. Russ was
you know, never the most you know, accurate in the world.
But it was just like, yo, Pete Russell Wilson, you
were like, man, he's just really good. And that's why
I brought up to Shaun Watson of like, Deshaun just
won it. Clemson won, and people kept finding reasons to
not draft, and we're like no, no, no, no. Obviously

(13:14):
years later we would find it, you know, some personal issues,
but I'm talking about the player, and it was like, yo, dude,
it's just really good and keeps winning and we keep
psyching ourselves out and then he goes to Houston and
has a really good career until again he finally comes
to Cleveland and stuff is out there. But that's what
I mean where Shador I kind of feel like, what
I keep winning different places, different organizations.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
I keep showing them a leadership.

Speaker 7 (13:36):
I can.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
It's sitting there. Don't overthink it, all right?

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox? Where are you
if the Giants were faced with this? Travis honos saor
Sanders are both sitting there?

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Who are you picking?

Speaker 3 (13:52):
You got your quarterback for the future or do you
have your once in a lifetime two way player? Your
show hal tany mm hm. That would definitely put the
Giants on the map. Would you not say that if
they have a player playing both ways.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
Especially if he's playing well, you know, if he's making
dynamic plays. All right? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Oh yeah, you know, Chili about that life? I know, Chili,
I'm bringing Rob the church Easter. You're coming this Sunday?
Why not?

Speaker 4 (16:20):
I'm busy? So it's one hour? Is that? One hour?
Five hours?

Speaker 7 (16:26):
Take kevy?

Speaker 9 (16:27):
You know.

Speaker 7 (16:27):
It's also for twenty on Eastern. So Rob, you know,
make the right choice.

Speaker 6 (16:32):
Okay, yeah, that's a good point, Chili. Well one thing,
Chili is already started lower right now? Oh no, Chili,
come to church with it.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
They settled. You're coming Sunday, Sunday, Sunday and uh uh
now what kind of is it?

Speaker 6 (16:45):
A Catholic church? One hour, non denomination? You know that's
a Baptist man. We gotta be there for three hours?

Speaker 4 (16:51):
All right? Well, there's another church we'll go to Little
more Sofa. We'll go there to we lose chili? Did
we love chili? Chili?

Speaker 6 (16:56):
Start praying right then, and the chili called back. I'm sorry, brother,
I was inviting Rob the church and then that you
don't hung up? Maybe it was the Lord. Yeah, what happened?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
That was the devil hunt and never working hard out
here in these streets.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
And Andre Massachusetts on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
What's up?

Speaker 10 (17:14):
Yeah, what's going on?

Speaker 11 (17:15):
Thanks taking the call?

Speaker 4 (17:16):
How are you?

Speaker 11 (17:17):
Yeah, so we can deliver his takes. But in terms
of the giants, I see is this as smoking mirrors
in terms of their courtship, you know, interest in shador
standers and kicking the tires going out there to take
a look at him. I think that they're all in
on Travis Hunter. I think they want to build up
their roster that not really looking to compete and to

(17:37):
go forward this year and beyond that. I see a
lot of teams looking forward to the next quarterback traft
and wanting to get into the march for arch Manning. Okay,
where do you do?

Speaker 4 (17:45):
That's what I'm saying, right, Yeah, that many.

Speaker 11 (17:48):
People believe it it's going to be generational now, shud Door,
I think it can be successful in the NFL. He
has all the right qualities and tangible so on and forth.
But this high in the draft for a team that
were everybody is on call, on notice, the coach, the
general manager, you know, in terms of decisions that they've made,
i e. Giving away a Super Bowl winning running back.
So I think that they're trying to prove that they

(18:10):
have a comprehensive approach. But they're going to take Travis Hunter.
They're going to try to build this roster up, and
they're going to go for some generational players in next
year's draft to kind of move the franchise forward from
the malaise that they've been in these last couple of years.

Speaker 7 (18:22):
Thanks taking a call, all right.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Eight seven ninety nine on Fox Jump In Randy in
New Orleans joined the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (18:32):
What's up, Randy, Randy, cal make sure you bring Uncle
Robin to someday matter brust my phone.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
I'm trying with them. I'm trying to get them there.
We're working on it right now. What and Rob, you
can wear that you don't know You've got a blazer
in your in your closet is outrageous, right, it's louds Gucci.
You haven't warn it somehow you got it for eight
hundred dollars when it was supposed to be five thousand.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
You got one from road Yep, you already know that
what that pink one from.

Speaker 10 (19:02):
To answer our question, man, Travis Hunter is a generation
of Tyler. We all know that we see quarterbacks like
Shaduran come every year, year and the year he got
decent arm of bumpa havage jack speak. But I just
said this, I heard Canvas City. He's a winner. Uh
talking about Shador. If you bring Travis Hunner to Jackson State,

(19:22):
you should win every game. Yes, I know what I'm saying,
even down here and we've seen we've seen quarterbacks like
Shador in the swank over the years. He's a great
uh horan so to speak. But generational though.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Right right, no generation if his name was.

Speaker 10 (19:44):
Anything other than Sam, I'll just say this. I just
said this because I know Uncle Rob's guys Lamar Jackson.
We watched Lamar at Louisville put on a show for
all those years and he found all the way to
what thirties.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
That's why you don't make the same mistake. I'm with you,
That's why I brought it up.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
How many teams needed a quarterback that there was Bill
Polian ruin for everybody.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Go out and wide receiver. Right, we ain't seen Bill
since we haven't.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Curtis in Missouri, you're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
What's up, Curtis? How are you?

Speaker 12 (20:17):
I'm doing pretty good?

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Thank you? What's going on?

Speaker 13 (20:21):
Oh?

Speaker 12 (20:21):
Not much? I would say that they should the Giants
should probably take Travis Hunter because I'm a big to
mea Swinston fan. I want to see him do well
no matter what, just because of his attitude, like I
want to see him play games, like he needs to
be somewhere starting all right.

Speaker 6 (20:38):
He talking about the same Jameis Winston. We are because
I know you, Jameis Winston. We we've seen the good,
but the bad. It's been too long of bad.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
I'm with you.

Speaker 6 (20:47):
If this was three years ago, i'd be with him.
All who doesn't like him? We eating w today. We're
gonna go out there. We're gonna eat some w's. Come on,
who want to eat some w.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
W all left?

Speaker 6 (20:56):
But he also is eating some iron t and eating ls.
There's some Alsbani Man. We want to see Jameis win,
but dang it, the turnovers.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
We got chili chim. Let's get him back in because
you hung up on him. Not a devil worth the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, buddy, That's
what I.

Speaker 7 (21:13):
Was saying, Kevin, it was the devil. But that's okay. Uh,
I would choose Travis Hunter and his wife. I've been
following him.

Speaker 11 (21:20):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (21:20):
He went to high school. He's a year after my daughter,
so I've been just watching him since high school. He
was the same high school as my daughter.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
Oh wow, okay.

Speaker 7 (21:27):
But his reason why we choose him because you can
play him on both sides of the ball. I played
him on the defense and put special packages in the offense.
But here's the thing. His wife was choosing because you know,
you you want to you can get by it Russell
Wilson maybe this year, and if Russell does not work out,
I mean you got to think about this. What type

(21:50):
of attraction would you could lure maybe a free agent
quarterback and you know it's going to elite neighbors and
you still have Travis Hunter as a post.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
That's the point. That's the good point, you know.

Speaker 7 (21:59):
And in number two you're going to get some of
the top receivers in that division. And then Devanta Adams
just go to the commanders. Yeah yeah, so you you
want to need him again? You know, you got those
guys and the Eagles you still got from the Cowboys
Cee Land, So yeah, Travis hun can help them.

Speaker 6 (22:18):
So you're thinking DK, Yeah, DK, Yeah, DK, I'm sorry
to wait, who are you talking? Deebo said Devo. There
we go, somebody wouldna Devo.

Speaker 7 (22:29):
Yeah, I'm sorry, Devo.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Yeah, I was gonna say. I was gonna say, didn't
he go to the Rams? You got me confused?

Speaker 14 (22:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (22:35):
So yeah, so like he could just and you can
get another period in quarterback and you could possibly recruit
to play with those But only.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
Question, I have you brought up some really good points?
We got to break here real quick, real quick, Chilli.
I totally get your points. Uh, but if we rob
and I say there every week, you gotta have a
quarterback to win. Why am I just gonna keep punching
a pump, punching a quarterback down the road? Eventually I
get I'll go get a free I'll get free, I'll
go get not if.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
You think that you could get a quarterback like that
in another round. That's the big thing is that you're
you're you're saying to yourself, he's not that special to
where I could look for somebody else.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
That's just interesting.

Speaker 6 (23:09):
Just once you get a quarterback and you feel like
if you're if you're the Commanders, you're happy if you're Houston.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Even though CJ. Shroud it was really their fault with
the offensive line.

Speaker 6 (23:17):
But you got a guy like to me, if you
get a guy, you got a guy for five or
six years, and you're feeling good about that, all right?
Jared Smith Fox Sports Radio Countdown, presented by Betting MGM

bit more of his intro. Youre ready to go? Ahead?
Jimmie up there, I got you, Jared, You're ready.

Speaker 15 (23:50):
Here we go.

Speaker 6 (23:50):
Fox Sports Radio Countdown presented by BETTMGM on Saturday mornings.
You can listen to a nine am to noon Eastern
Standard Time. He is Jerry Smith.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
There we go. I feel, let's go point guard.

Speaker 14 (24:01):
Do what I do?

Speaker 4 (24:01):
You know what I mean, I'm trying to lead us
to the w You know that's only if they're crab
legs though, that's what.

Speaker 15 (24:09):
Did you see the TikTok he did with the crab
and the the other day you got it.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
Listen, He's he's a blast, he is.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
The Only problem is, once you start doing TV more
is gonna be two contrived and forced.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (24:19):
They're gonna like, oh we should do this, and it's
gonna be you can't overdo it. That's what's gonna happen. Ye,
there's a there's a natural content these days.

Speaker 15 (24:28):
Everyone wants content.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
So Jared, let's let's talk about the NBA playoffs or underway,
and uh, these playing games last night, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (24:39):
I mean, you look at these games and I was
right on.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
The Warriors plus I had I hadzzlies plus six and
a half in that game. And you were watching that
one Warriors up by twenty. You're like, you got no
shot where's money going to do people take?

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Do they just?

Speaker 3 (24:57):
I think most people just bet the favorite in the
postseason because for the most part the post the favorites
are the teams that win.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Is that how most people bet the postseason?

Speaker 5 (25:08):
Absolutely, especially game ones, you know, like we're gonna see
a lot of these series. In fact, there's some fun
parlays you can do over at bet MGM where it's like,
win game one and win the series and.

Speaker 15 (25:17):
You get a little bit of a you know, a
little bit more bang for your button.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Unders in game one also have been a thing recently,
especially early on in the playoffs, right because that's when
all of a sudden it's a different sport, Like the
regular season is very different from the postseason in the.

Speaker 15 (25:31):
NBA, and the totals haven't fully.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
Caught up yet, right Like Vegas is still kind of
baking in what the numbers were from the regular season,
and then all of a sudden things tighten up in
the postseason. Much more defense, a lot more you know,
extensions of defenses, and a lot more you know, complicated
defenses to solve, and that's when you know, you see
less points. So I think that's a vibe favorites and
unders tend to be a vibe early on in the

(25:55):
NBA playoffs.

Speaker 6 (25:56):
Jared, I want to go to the Eastern Conference, where
it seems like all season long, Cleveland just has this
remarkable season. I mean, you dag near thought lebron was
playing with Cleveland the way they were performing. But come
to find out a lot of people still just buy
the Celtics, like, oh, just get to the postseason and
the Celtics will win. Is that how the money's coming
in right now? As far as from the East is,
it's still just Celtics to lose.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
Oh yeah, and you know if they do play each
other in the Eastern Conference finals, which I think that
makes a lot of sense. Those are really the only
two teams that the sports books are given any love to.
Boston is minus one forty five to win the East,
and that you know, that might surprise some of you
because it would be Cleveland that would get the home court.
The Calves are plus one to eighty, and then there
is a massive gap between Boston and Cleveland, and then

(26:38):
you got the Knicks down there at twelve to one.
So really, what the what the books are telling you
is they'd be shocked if it was anyone but Boston
and Cleveland. I think Boston's gonna win it all again.
Like I know that sounds really boring and really chalky,
but it does seem like they are the best team,
and especially if they're operating at full capacity with Christapsporzingis,
I just don't see a team beating them in a
best of.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Seven, Yeah, because it's always the best of seven that neutralizes,
especially in basketball, you gotta beat somebody four times. Is
there a team that people just bet money on, like, like,
like I know and and and Jared helped me out
if I'm wrong on this, But I've read something before
where New York gambling wise, like makes more money than

(27:19):
Lost veg like makes money more money than most of
the states that have gambling, like like like fifty of
the gambled money is through New York or something like
that was a ridiculous number. But anyway, my point is
because you have New York fans and there's a lot
of action coming out of.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
The Big Apples, a huge city.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Yeah, but do you see like more money bet on
a team like the Knicks or bet on certain teams
just because of their fan bases that Is that a
question that I'm trying to make sense of.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
Yeah, No, I think there is a lot of regional bias.
New York by far is the most and that's just
really population, that's just volume.

Speaker 7 (27:57):
It ries.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Am I right about that? Like like gambling the money,
it's just a lot of matt Is. So the state
has what fifty eight sixty million people?

Speaker 5 (28:06):
Yeah, and then another thing you see, for example, bet
MGM has a big stronghold in the state of Michigan,
so you see a lot of times, Oh, the biggest
liability for bet MGM is the Detroit Pistons. You're like, wait, what, Well,
that's because everyone's betting Michigan. You know, everyone's in Michigan,
so you get a lot of hometown bias. Same thing
with the Michigan Wolverines. Anytime they're playing a big game,
you tend to see a lot of handle come in

(28:28):
at bet MGM on the Wolverines or Michigan State or
you know, the Red Wings or you know, the Pistons,
the Tigers, because it's it's just you know, that's the
most popular state that MGM has and that's why you
So there is a little bit of regional bias that exists,
but for the most part, it's just population. And that's
why New York, New Jersey, if Texas, California ever comes online,

(28:48):
I mean those states are going to blow past what
Nevada does. And another thing we've seen, because gambling is
becoming more legalized nationwide, well now that is not as
you know, it's not as much of a destination because
you don't you used to be you have to.

Speaker 15 (29:01):
Go to Nevada right now, you don't.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Now I could take the money. I was gonna go
fly out there and have a hotel and bet that.

Speaker 15 (29:08):
Yeah, exact one percent.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
I think that's changing, and that's why I think we've
seen Nevada loosen a lot of some of the regulations
and restrictions that they've had, like, for example, some of
the exchange sites like the cow She's like, you know,
the things that were really big when the election was
coming up.

Speaker 15 (29:23):
A lot of those future contracts.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
And a lot of those peer to peer betting sites
are becoming a lot more popular now because you eliminate
the tax involved with like if all of a sudden,
a sports book, like for example, in New York, you
have to pay a fifty percent tax for all.

Speaker 15 (29:36):
Sports betting revenue that the sports books collect.

Speaker 5 (29:39):
If if you can bypass that by creating some kind
of contract future exchange, peer to peer. Well, now all
of a sudden, you can make a significantly more money
if you eliminate the tax revenue involved. So the gambling
industry is evolving significantly over the last few years, and
I think it's gonna keep evolving.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
And let me do one more and then we're gonna
ask you about the college raft, the draft. H think
they improved a casino for Times Square in New York?

Speaker 4 (30:03):
Is am I right? Jared?

Speaker 15 (30:04):
And also the can you believe casinos in New York.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Times Square we have a casino probably the biggest casino
in the United States.

Speaker 15 (30:13):
It's gonna be crazy. Well, I think that. And also
the Eye casino has become very popular.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Like betting slot machines online, and you know blackjack on
Like you see Drake do that all the time he's
playing blackjack and rule start to concerned that he's read
like a million dollars on red like relaxed Drake.

Speaker 15 (30:29):
That's becoming very popular.

Speaker 6 (30:31):
Yeah, we run a long time. A couple of things
we want to ask you NFL draft, looking at what
we talk about you doing. We talk about uh, obviously Hunter,
maybe Carter, but some other players out there that maybe
less talked about, but it could be really good for
a team. Tyler Warren, who is kind of the all
purpose do it all tied in there, one of those
people are keeping an eye on, could be one of
a nice deal of the draft.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
What do you think of him?

Speaker 5 (30:52):
Well, I think the brock Bowers effect from last year,
like Vegas had no quarterback and brock Bowers had an
All Pro year. I think that's going to help a
I like, you know, Warren and also Loveland, the tight
end from Michigan. I think those guys might get taken
earlier than expected. You can say the same thing about
the Saquon Barkley effect for Ashon Genty and I think
now gms, maybe those aren't premium positions tight end running

(31:13):
back in the draft usually don't take a tight end
or running back in the top ten. But those two
guys last year, Saquon and Bowers, I think maybe have
changed the minds of some general managers. Maybe they're gonna
be taken a little bit earlier than expected. I would
be betting the unders on the draft positions for gent
and Warren. I think some general managers might bite a
little bit early.

Speaker 6 (31:32):
All right, well there you have it, man, it's gonna
be interesting where what tomorrow will be a week away
from the draft. So all the posturing, all the you know,
putting out fake stories and doing all that will come
to it in and we'll finally see who gets drafted.
Jared Smith, Fox Sports Radio copouns been GM. Thank you

It was good. I would say it for the station, the.

Speaker 7 (33:12):
Five crown even number.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Figure it out. Hear me out, that's right, hear me out.
All right, Mancy, are you listening? I know you've been.
How dare you come to work? To work today?

Speaker 6 (33:26):
Usually coming it's I think that you come in with
something you've been over there working today.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Bo, you're ready, You're ready, Rob, You're ready.

Speaker 13 (33:31):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
One's gotta go. Now this one.

Speaker 6 (33:34):
Let me prefaced by saying it's easy. Well, we know
that's Rob. He's gonna rob it too easy. So I'm
gonna say that for a rob, this one is it
hurts the worst, so it's gotta go. Okay, that's the
reason w yes, the worst one of them off. That's
why it has to go, So keep it in mind.
So this happened to me yesterday about an hour or
two before would get on the radio show, and it

(33:57):
was part of the reason why I was self conscious,
Like how am I sounding? That was I bit pretty
much a hole in my tongue eating eating you know
how you eat too fast, too high, you can damn
And I saw red the minute I did it, to
the point you ever had your tongue bleed because you
bit it that hard's bleeding a little bit. Yeah, so
I bit my tongue both taking his head like I
know all about that. So then it got me thinking

(34:18):
today because I was finally starting to heal a little
bit and I felt good. I did my news show
earlier South the Spectrum News one, and I was talking normally.

Speaker 4 (34:25):
So I'll get these off quickly so we can go
around the room.

Speaker 6 (34:28):
So biting your tongue or cheek a paper cut, bumping
your head, you know, you get up too soon, you
hit it on a cabinet or something, stubbing your toe
or stepping on a lego bo I know you know
about their life with kids and or a leg or
toe cramp, and sometimes you know, maybe you got that
leg cramp. You was doing something that night. If you
catch my drift, Matyi, you wouldn't know nothing about that.

(34:49):
You went to this man thing.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
It's a man thing, manchi, I know what you're talking about. Yes,
it's not trigonometry. All right. So there are your options.

Speaker 6 (34:55):
Biting your tongue or cheek, paper cut, bumping your head,
stubbing your toe or stepping on something or a leg
or toe cramp.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
Rob is so easy, This is easy. I mean, come on,
which one is?

Speaker 6 (35:08):
Remember you're eliminating the one that hurts the worst by
biting my tongue.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Blood is involved. Okay, I don't want my tongue bitten.
I'm serious. Yes, I just cannot in any way.

Speaker 6 (35:22):
Not even by her, you said, okay, alright, so Rob,
bite the tongu All right, let's go to bow who
you got?

Speaker 4 (35:37):
Those all suck.

Speaker 9 (35:38):
But I think the one, the only one that made
me cringe was a paper cut because it makes me
think of the wonderful Steve O and the Jackass when
he gets paper cuts on the webbing of his fingers.
So that's that's the only one that makes me physically cramp.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
I felt it.

Speaker 13 (35:57):
You might have changed my answer, Manzi, y'all like I
have fallen to the floor, stubbing my toe, Like falling
to the floor probably would be that.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
I mean, you.

Speaker 13 (36:09):
Describing your tongue incident sounds absolutely horrific, But I've never
experienced that a bit you sung that not that bad,
not that.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
Job.

Speaker 13 (36:18):
Blood, No stubbing my toe.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
I've literally fallen, It's just dead fallen and couldn't get up,
Alex quickly.

Speaker 8 (36:26):
I've woken up to a feeling in my lower foot
and it travels to my caf and it's the worst
cramp my life. I'm telling you I will take out
Satan himself before that happens again.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Well, I know what you're doing at night. That's the problem, right,
They need to HIGHRD after all that, Alex. No, we
she got a job now too. Okay, Well there you go,
got responsibilities. All of these hurt as we said, come on, okay.

Speaker 14 (36:47):
But the worst, okay, the worst, the worst blood it's
stubbing your toe, stubbing on a lego because it lasts
with you for days.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
It's the worst and it makes you reconsider have the kids?

Speaker 8 (37:01):
What about falling down the stairs.
