you it's it's a developing story.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Yeah, I don't want to look at it.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
But but apparently in Pittsburgh a fan has fallen out
of the stands onto the field.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yes, and saw it.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
There There is a video out there that is it's graphic.
You can see it.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
The guy is it an old guy, young kid?
Speaker 5 (02:11):
You know, I can't tell, but he looks like he
falls over. It does a couple of somersaults and just
falls flat onto the warning track. It does not look good.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
It's not look good.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
The video I'm currently looking at is is still at
a distance, so I can't tell the age, but it is.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
It's a rough video game.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
Is still just he just has just resumed. They just resumed,
and all the players were distraught. You could see all
of them just shaking their head, some of them kind
of like just staring at the gay. You know, like,
what did I just witness? Were they trying to get
a fly ball?
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Like?
Speaker 3 (02:48):
No, no, it's it's really quick.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
It looks like the person just kind of stands up
and maybe tries to lift themselves over the rail and
falls over. I sent you both the videos, so watch
with caution. It's just so you know, I just but
it's so quick. They seem to stand up, kind of
go quickly over the rail and then just fall.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
It's it's very quick. But I don't know if I
want to see. Yeah, all right, we'll take a look.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
But thanks to keep us, keep us updated, Yeah, keep
us updated on what's happening. But we wanted to bring
you that that that's what's happening in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
The game has resumed.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
It's four to three Pirates, top of the eighth inning. Yeah,
also tonight, obviously the Lakers are about to play trying
to stave off elimination, playing the Timberwolves downtown Los Angeles,
and I guess something just happened where JJ Reddick the coach,
(03:49):
stormed out of his This is reported by Yahoo Sports
on Twitter, and it says JJ Reddick stormed out of
his press conference after he was asked if he will
lean on his assistance when it comes to fourth quarter
substitutions tonight. So apparently it's gotten under his skin that uh,
(04:13):
he doesn't know what he's doing, or he can't coach,
or he needs help. And he's like, well, of course
I talked to my sisters, of course, and it all
comes off of him not having any playing the same
five guys for the second half. Yeah, I mean that's
what it is. And the Lakers, you could say it
didn't matter, but they look tired, would you say that,
(04:36):
like they like they like the number?
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah, the numbers didn't bear it out that there was one.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
For seven from Luca and Bron and zero for two scoring,
and not to mention, you got to add a couple
of things up.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Rob Lebron is forty plus. We all know that. And
Luca was coming off that illness where he didn't sleep
all night night.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
And I understand that. You know you're gonna play them heavy,
heavy minutes, hre. I get that, but you got to
give a Brie either there's a TV to time out
to this moment. You could get sneak a couple of minutes.
The whole second half. We get the fourth quarter right,
last twelve minutes. Everybody's locked in. I can understand that,
but there's another previous twelve minutes where you could have
And also, like I've said before, you find a way
(05:15):
to get in another guy for a spark. Maybe you
throw Dalton connect and you say, hey man, let that
thing fly, knock some shots down, or a man Vanderbilt.
All I need for you to do is get in
there and heckle and hassle and rough up the game
on Anthony. I would just follow him around, be tough
on him, be hard on him, you know what I mean.
That's for me the other side. It wasn't just Luke
(05:36):
and Lebron the heavy minutes. It's the lack of creativity
trying to figure out something else with the other few players.
And I know that every bench ain't the best in
the world. This ain't Olkce this ain't Boston, but my goodness,
when you got to give.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Those guys a blow.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yeah, And so he's offended that they would even ask
him that question. Stormed off and I don't think that's
a bad question by h.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
First time coach, so he never coached before, and you're
asking a question.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
Yeah, your first headtime head coach on any in the postseason,
you got two heavy mega superstars, and you got guys
who've been there, done that, and.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
You're game in the second half where your guys seemed
like to be they were worn down, and you played
five only five players the entire second half, and they
did the stats. So somebody came up with the stat
and said it hadn't been done in the NBA since
nineteen ninety seven, or it ain't like it happens all
the time.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
And he was mad.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
He was saying, you know, every time out I speak
to my assistants, and so he was aggravated about that.
But it does lead to the conversation you and I
going to have, which is, if the Lakers lose tonight,
you have the thought process that it proved Nico Harrison
correct and the Mavericks were right.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Is that what I'm hearing from you, Let me give
you my full attention.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yes, I want you to get if they get knocked
out in the first round, that is, will you admit
nobody in their right mind putting Luca and Lebron together
would imagine they would get knocked out in the first round,
and as easily as they would have because it'd be a.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Five game series. Are okay?
Speaker 1 (07:09):
And my point is, while Luca has scored, he's also
given up. Tony doesn't play defense at all. It's glaring.
I'm just saying if you lose. If you win and
he's putting up thirty eight points, then you know you
don't care about what he gave up on the other end.
But when you're losing, you can look at it a
little differently. And my point is the heat will be
(07:31):
off a little bit. And I'm not saying forever because
Luca didn't win. Now, if they would have gone, Luca
comes to the Lakers, they go to the Western Conference Finals,
have a chance to get to the finals, then you're
gonna get roasted forever. It'll because Luca went last year
and now here he is again and you just handed
the Lakers. Do you see what I'm saying, and I
think that works in favor. I'm not saying that. Ultimately,
(07:55):
they'll always look to see if Luca wins, and what
happens down the road, and what happens when AD's healthy
and Kyrie's healthy and all that, and see if the
Mavericks can make any kind of run.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
But it will definitely make a difference.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
If Lebron and Luca, because then you can't sit there
and go, I can't.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Believe they gave up.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Oh my god, look at what happened, because you'll start
to look at Luca and dissect him a little bit
more and wonder about the illness and him playing defense
and Nico, what is his driving point that he talks
about always defense wins championships, Which is a knock called Luca, right,
It's a veiled knock, but it is a knock.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
That's what he keeps saying.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Z never said it, but no, we know what you're implying. Nope,
the heat will still be on to me. And it's
a couple of reason why. One of the things that
I keep one to stress is while Luca is the
biggest subject in all of this, it's also Anthony Davis.
So what I mean by that is again, and I've
said it to you several times, that Nico paired Anthony
(08:58):
Davis often hurt with often hurt Kyrie Irving, And that's
my biggest thing.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Again.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
If he went out and traded Lucan, he was a
get Ann Edwards or Apollo van Carro and a couple
of picks, and I'm like, okay, I see your building
for the future. Plus you got a guy who could
be an all star talent right now or that, Okay,
I get it. But you pair someone who's older than Luca,
six years older with someone who's already older and Kyrie
I think was Kyrie like thirty three, and they're both
(09:23):
often injured, and they both ended up being injured. So
to me, literally it was over right. It was over
the second half. When Anthony Davis looked great the first
half and he ends up getting injured. The level of
irony or poetic waxing poetically, whatever you want to call it,
that's when it was over for me and Luca being
twenty five, the runway is so long. Now Lebron plays
(09:45):
another year, maybe he doesn't, maybe he goes away. The
fact that Luca has control of the franchise of the
Lakers for so long. Now, it's just to me that's
the issue, and that you're banking on two older, injured,
injury pro guys to lead your franchise in Kyrie and Ad.
That's the issue to me. Not discussed enough. Then Luca
(10:07):
and the Hookah is the overweight. That part of it.
It's what you'd either got or what you didn't get
for Luca. To me, that's my not gonna say I
disagree from this standpoint. I understand that Luca twenty five
with we don't know what Luca you're gonna get if
if he continued to put on Wade or doesn't play
defense and you don't win, you'll start to look at it,
(10:27):
and I get it. But the first inkling and you
could go back and look at all the NBA analysts
who all picked the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
All of them, all of them.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Oh, there's nobody in their way, correct, that's what people
were saying.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Oh and a T. But even though k C they
were all your experience, they're not experienced.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Luca went to the finals last year, Lebron's won four championships.
Oh my god, I can't believe those two guys together
they're gonna be They're gonna be a problem. You don't
want to see Luca and Lebron and they're down three
to one.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
I saw.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
What I'm saying is that that that that will give.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Them a little bit of breather and he can go.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Oh, I mean, look, they're gonna need to and handle
a rob. They gonna need an asthmataetic goned.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
How'd that go?
Speaker 6 (11:10):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (11:10):
How'd that go? For Lebron and Lakers? Like, like, Lebron
not gonna be here for ten years, maybe another year,
two max maybe right.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
So I'm saying, if this is this is not what
the doctor ordered, and it would give just for now,
it would give them a feel like try to tell
you that, dude, don't play defense, you ain't gonna win
nothing where he's going thirty eight and giving up forty
three on the other side, That's what I'm talking about.
That's what people will point to and say, you aren't
(11:40):
gonna be able to win if Luca and Lebron aren't
playing defense.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
You listen, the MAVs need to hire you as a
spin artist. Thank you. They're like, hire Rob Parker right now.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Get this clip call Elijah never heard of him and
play this all the time because you trying, Bro.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
You trying.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
It ain't no way. The pressure's off. The pressure is
on permanently.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Eight seven seven ninety nine, permanent press on an iron.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Unless he wins a championship, that's about all you got
and he's got to win him look easier said than done,
Charles wa is gonna win.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
I can name Patrick gaff and one Perchase give it.
I could keep going going. It's one person that got away.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Eight seven seven ninety nine Off Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
If the Lakers get smoked tonight.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
And are out in the first round, how wright will
the Mavericks look and will some of the pressure some
come off with Niko or should he get a contract extension?
Speaker 4 (12:42):
He no, He and the owners are on LinkedIn up
updating their page right now. It is the Indeed dot
Com right now, Rob.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Having a conversation about who's gonna end up being right
if the Lakers and Lucas specifically were to lose tonight
first round ugly fashion to the Timberwolves. Is Nico Harrison
and the Mavericks where they write, were they proven right
by this?
Speaker 3 (13:55):
I say, heck no, what are you talking about?
Speaker 6 (13:56):
Rob?
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Rob says they are. You want to just lit bitter?
They just are. Yeah. I'm not saying forever.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
But it softens the blow because everybody, everybody picked Luca
and Lebron. Oh my god, you know they're gonna go
to the Western Conference Finals. They're gonna go to the finals.
I don't know how you're gonna stop those two.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
A lot of people, who is the everybody? A lot
of NBA analysts. Are they in the room with us
right now?
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Okay, okay, but but you've watched the shows. They don't
look bo bo is ready to clap back on.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
No.
Speaker 7 (14:29):
Look, I just we we can't do anything with the
fallout for this trade until we're like two three years
in and there's nobody going to Mavericks games anymore.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
I don't believe that I attendance.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
You know my phrase, the thirty for thirty gonna slap
all right, all right, let's.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Go Johnny in Minnesota. You're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Johnny?
Speaker 6 (14:52):
Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 8 (14:53):
Guys?
Speaker 6 (14:55):
I'm pretty good man.
Speaker 9 (14:56):
How about you guys today?
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Man, we are blessed. Bus my butt falling out of
this office.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
You lucky man. The prayers that I've been praying for
you saved you right there.
Speaker 6 (15:06):
Hey, Hey, Luca, we to pray for Luca. Man.
Speaker 9 (15:09):
They're just wasted all them trade for him and Alison.
Speaker 6 (15:12):
They're gonna lose in four or five games.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Right, I mean, you can't look at that and say
that this was great.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
The two best players in the league gonna get whooped
up by one little Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
All right now, Johnny, Johnny, I'm gonna need you on speed.
Now we get to a game seven. See this is
always Kevin, Kevin always.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
You call me after the game to night.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
We'll talk about it, all right, Johnny, I'll bo get
his number for me. I'll put Kelvin on the spot.
Who went in?
Speaker 4 (15:40):
And no, I want you to tell me who won
in the series, the Lakers. Okay, I was somebody right,
I can't quote him right now.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
He going through it right now.
Speaker 7 (15:48):
It's it's pretty funny to hear someone with a Minnesota
accent talk tough though.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
That was pretty funny.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
Dispect mid westerners, all right, MJ and New Orleans the
Pistons in seven rounds.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports. Raid up?
Speaker 6 (16:05):
What up?
Speaker 3 (16:08):
No doubt? What's up? Boys in the building?
Speaker 10 (16:13):
What it is?
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Hey?
Speaker 10 (16:16):
Uh? Luca Dodgers defensive raiding is one eleven point six man.
That's close to the bottom of the league. Nico. I
know Nico is from Turbistan, right No? Then no, yeah,
he's one of you know, covid stans, though he didn't
ship Luca out with a regular regard. You did, so
(16:38):
he got the approval to ship him out. I don't
get this where everybody's up and offs. They're like, oh,
you know we wanted Luca, Luca's gonna be That's not
how it works. I think if someone like I said,
Don Nelson or somebody like that would have traded him,
I don't think it would have been all this extra stuff.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (16:57):
They definitely didn't bring Luca in the next season. They
brought him in the win this season. Okay, the so
let's keep it real.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
You MJ. Hold on, MJ.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
You gotta at least this, MJ. You gotta give me
this the irony that there's gonna be a catastrophic injury
to the Luca. Yet the first game, eighty has an
injury that takes him out for twenty.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Thirty something about long.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
I understand that, but I'm saying, allow me to say
that is literally like poetry, Like I like you you do.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
You talk about this guy, he don't believe all the injury.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
And you have the guy who's off the nickname street
Clothes gets injured the day the first day, and I
like AD eighty has had a spectacular career.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
No, but it's a long term that they would get
rid of a twenty too.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Long because Ad is older? Thirty one? Is Kyrie already third?
Speaker 9 (17:47):
What?
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Thirty three?
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Andre? In Massachusetts? You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up you been?
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Andre?
Speaker 8 (17:55):
Hey?
Speaker 10 (17:55):
What's going on?
Speaker 11 (17:56):
Thanks?
Speaker 10 (17:56):
Taking a call?
Speaker 8 (17:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (17:57):
Sorry for you know you missed a couple. But I'm
here to night for this topic. I'm all about it.
There's gonna be no heat removed from Nico Harris. He's
not coming up out of the hot seat. Uh, based
on had the Lakers fare in his first round series.
In my opinion, they're over a match by a.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Better Can you pick the Lakers? You didn't pick the
Lakers like everybody else on television.
Speaker 11 (18:16):
Absolutely not. I gotta put respect on ant Man's name.
This is a Minnesota Timberwolves team that had a chance
to go to the finals last year. There were a
lot of them thought they were going to get the
better of Dallas in that Western Conference finals and it
took some time. So the Minnesota Timerwolfs team is good.
They're hitting their stride. They have Julius Randa to place
Karl Anthony Towns these guys aren't slouches. But specific to
first of all, the Lakers, it's gonna take time. They're
(18:37):
a great team on two k, you know, because they
have the two stars. But it's gonna we're gonna take
more than a half the season for these guys to
get get it figured out, particularly when you.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Do have but as you get Lebron's gonna get better
older defensively, I'm just saying, you have ten statues outside
Crypto and you got two on the court. Andre, you
got two statues out? Yeah?
Speaker 11 (18:58):
No, right, Rob, brob this team is it could take
more than a half the season if they're not constructed.
Now they you know, you got to strike when when
when the iron is hot, it's like the Louisiana purchase
them get Luka Doncic. Okay, that's that's what's happening in
terms of you know, the teams that I'm just having.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
This listen Andre, Andre, they also have a bad coach.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Would you could you could you give me that have
a bad coach as well?
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Andre? Hung up on you had enough any way too early?
Called a man a bad coach. Now, come on, Rob,
to get some time? No, can he get some time?
Because they don't. They don't give time to other people.
I don't know that he had no coaching experience. That's
why he was asked that.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Question, because when you when you watch mistakes like that,
you go.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
You can't cut that man out a bad coach. Come on, now,
he has had some moments and he thought he was
a Coach of the Year. You remember earlier this year.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Is it time you apologize to JJ?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
Reddick apologized he had them playing well, and they did
and they got all the way up to the three
season three seeds.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Is he a good coach? Uh?
Speaker 7 (20:01):
He's better than Darvin Ham.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
Really, Rovinham won you in season two.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Darwin ad got you to the Western Conference Finals from
the sixth seed.
Speaker 7 (20:10):
This is the because the number three they took away
his favorite toy in Russell Westbrook.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Okay, I'm just asking you.
Speaker 7 (20:16):
Once they traded away Westbrook and had a more cogent roster,
that's when they were able to go far. But he
got out coached consistently when they played the Nuggets. He
got out coached consistently all the time. He just got
out coached as an assistant coach. Last night when the
Bucks got swept and what happened here?
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Did JJ Reddick get out coached?
Speaker 7 (20:35):
I think there was a bad idea, But also like,
can we admit that the Lakers were he flawed roster
from the start?
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Oh yeah, you trade number three there a flawed roster.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
But ain't nobody think that they were going to get
the Keith teeth kicked in and Game one at home
or the idea that they were get knocked out in
the first round. I don't care who you're talking. The
problem is for the Lakers right on that I thought.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
I thought they had a chance.
Speaker 7 (20:59):
They should be advancing.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
That's what I was gonna say. They actually about played
the Timberwolves majority of the series.
Speaker 7 (21:05):
It's the same thing they did against the Nuggets. They
would they would they get to the last five minutes
of the game.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
That was a great reminder that A one in the
game knowing it is, Yeah it is, and A and
it's at a better win. And just like you know
what I'm saying you you we've seen this, We've seen.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Three one leads. Not when you have two guys who
don't play any defense, I'm terrible.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
When you got one guy who can average fifty over
the next.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
And that's that's it. Yeah, stopping it, man, who's stopping him?
Speaker 7 (21:37):
Unfortunately, I do have to give credit to uh rob
g because he did make the point that the Lakers,
if they're going to win tonight, they need to get
contributions some guys that aren't Lebron and Luca right like,
and they just haven't been getting that.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
That's the thing.
Speaker 7 (21:49):
That's what I say with jj wiff, Like everybody's like, well,
he should have gone to his bench moar, and like
that's fine, he should have, but like what for Dalton connect.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
No, But but the idea is just not not that,
Like Dalton can gonna be the difference maker, but you
have to give a forty year role a break. You
can't have Lebron go scoreless in the fourth quarter and
act like him playing the attention It was for the spelling.
Speaker 7 (22:13):
Though, where if it had worked and they won, then
it's a bold move that the Jay to do.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
But they lost.
Speaker 7 (22:19):
So he gets trash for and I'm not gonna I'm
not gonna throw under the bus for one.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
It's just one of those things. But that was the
biggest game of the year.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
Yeah, and you can't And lucas part responding Lebron to
you can't lose a game where you're uptained and the
dude like you're gonna go down three to one. And
they have had a couple of games, Game three, Game
four they controlled and they just lose. And that was
to be hard on Luca. Lucas shouldn't be losing these games.
If you're Luca, Lebron wouldn't be losing these games, you know,
twenty five year o Lebron, Kobe wouldn't be. You can't
(22:47):
lose these games Rich routinely in the postseason. That's the
issue we have right there, all right. Mike Eisenberg, co
author of Banner Year on Celtics Championship.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
We got that coming up in just a bit.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
Mike Eisenberg now our guest co author of Banner Year
on Celtics Championship.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Mike, appreciate you joining a couple robin Wednesday. What's up, buddy,
Hey guys, how are you doing?
Speaker 4 (23:09):
Good man, We've been having a great show so far.
Glad you were able to join us and uh and
talk some hoops as well. But really we'll start here, Mike.
I mean, Celtics do what they're supposed to do.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Yeah, yeah, it was.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
It was an interesting series because Orlando has given the
Celtics trouble over the last couple of years. Part of
it is, you know, someone once said to me, for
the Magic, it's a playoff game for the Celtics. It's
a Tuesday in the middle of February in Orlando. But
their size has given the Celtics trouble. Fortunately for the Celtics,
(23:44):
the Magic can't shoot to stay for their lives, and
they were able to. They were able to get by
with Jason Tatum missing a game, with you Holiday missing
three games. So I think what the Celtics are hoping
for is they're hoping that the Knicks lose the next
game and it goes seven, So the Celtics will have
almost a full week off to rest those guys, Jalen Brown,
(24:06):
everyone else.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Mike.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
We know how hard it is to repeat in the
NBA and pro sports.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
Really it's not that easy. Does this team have what
it takes?
Speaker 1 (24:16):
I mean, obviously they got to get past Cleveland, they
got some other younger teams in the West, and you know,
can they do it? Can they buck the trend which
is not repeating and actually win another championship?
Speaker 6 (24:30):
I think that they do. And you know, at the
beginning of the season when they started off, they started
off like seventeen and two or something like that, and
everyone said, oh my god, they're gonna win sixty seven games.
They're gonna win sixty eight games. The season ended up
unfolding the way I thought it would, which is, you
have a team with three guys that played in the Olympics,
all right. You also have you know, Chris cupsporzingis coming
(24:53):
off surgery, and they just won a title that played
late into June. So I wasn't surprised that they had
some missteps during the season. But you know, all season one,
they've been saying the same thing, which is, we would
just want to get to the postseason. And I liked
them against Cleveland. I think I think they have a
good chance. I think that their toughest opponent, if they
(25:14):
get that far, will be Oklahoma City because that team
just keeps on coming at you. There's no break there.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Yeah, I mean, it's just it's almost like hockey, they
just bring in a different line's.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
They just keep coming in.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Mike Eisenberg, our guests on the Odd Couple, Robin Kevin
on a worship Wednesday, Mike, it's been I've been enjoying
this postseason.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Rob and I have talked about it. I look at
some of these series.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
Obviously you're gonna have the top dogs, ok see Boston,
even Cleveland do what they're supposed to do.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
But I'm enjoying this. Houston, Golden State, Nick's Pistons, Denver,
Laker or Clippers. I used to say, even the Minnesota
and the Lakers series is closer than the series record
would show. What have you with? Is there a theme
out there?
Speaker 4 (25:56):
Is it the physicality is an experience from some of
these other teams ala Houston losing right now to Golden State.
What are some things you've taken from this first round?
Speaker 9 (26:07):
Well?
Speaker 6 (26:07):
I think the part of it is, you know, Cedric
Maxwell always talks to me about schedule losses, right like
you're playing your third game in four days type of thing.
And you know, even though the Warriors, you know, they
did really well in Golden State, you could sort of
see this game tonight coming because the Rockets, you know,
they're at home, they're down to games or three games
(26:29):
to one, Like you knew they were going to win
this game, and you know the key is going to
be Game six. I think the physicality has been something.
You know that Nick's Piston series. Good God, I mean
that's like from the nineties.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Right, exactly, almost no doubt about it. Let's ask you
about the book. I'd like to get into this real quick,
because what's the documentary Celtic City.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
I'm all in and I think the last episode just aired.
I got I got it down DVR there.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
But Cedric Mac Maxwell and of course Mike Eisenberg wrote
this book. Mat will you tell us about the book
and how people can get it?
Speaker 6 (27:04):
Well, you know, Max and I wrote a book a
couple of years ago. He was my favorite player growing up.
I were number thirty one when I played at Emerson College,
and we wrote a book really about his career and
getting to be friendly with him. You know, it was
such a big trill. He such a great guy. And
last year, you know, I think that last year's title
the Celtics was really unlike almost any other in the
(27:27):
history of the NBA. What I mean by that is
they took two parallel tracks. The first track was being patient.
You know, Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum played together for
six years before they won a title. You tell me
another tandem that's been together that long and hadn't won
a title besides Carl Malone and John Stockton. But then
(27:47):
and they you know, the team. Brett Stevens told me that,
you know, we look at them as winners. Well, then
three weeks after they lose Game seven of the Conference
finals to Miami, they go out and get Chris Porzingis.
Then three days before training camp starts, Oh, by the way,
we have drew holiday. So it was aggression in patience
and that nix really, I mean, Bred Stevens could not
(28:10):
have played it any better. And being able to see
how the team molded together. I mean last year they
were sixteen and three in the playoffs, I mean they
were incredible. So they don't win without the two new guys,
they don't win without the older guys. So it was
really a great meshing of their talents. And as far
as the book goes, I mean, it was a fun project.
(28:33):
It's available wherever you get books on Amazon or Triumph
Books as the publisher at Chicago, And it was just
really really cool to be able to look at how
the team was put together, going step by step. I
mean Brad Stevens told me that before training camp he
was satisfied with the team that they had. Then all
(28:55):
of a sudden, Dame Lillard got traded to Milwaukee for
holiday holiday, wasn't going to stay in Portland. Oh, we've
got to get him. So, I mean, that's like a
really major major move that happened, you know, basically at
you know, eleven thirty on the deadline almost that kind
of thing. So it was really really fascinating to see.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
You know, it reminds me again watching Celtic City. It
just read our book.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
Everybody knows, Oh he's so great in the Cigar, but
he was so crafty at getting guys and the way
he pulled off to getting Robert Parrish and also Kevin
McHale and then getting Dennis Johnson later and then getting
the last little bit of basketball talent and Bill Walden
kind of reminds me that finding guys when you need
him to enhance a team that already had some talent
and make it even better. Well, wishing you all the
best with the book, Mike, thank you so much for
(29:37):
joining us.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
We appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (29:39):
All right, guys, stay safe, yeah, all right, good luck.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
And pick up the book.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Yeah, Banner year on Celtics Championship Mike Eisenberg and also
Cedric Maxwell. Go check that out. Uh should be a
good read. I'm all in right now. You would think
I'm on a green jersey.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Now I'm surprised Forston guy.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Yeah, I just you know, I'm a hoop I'm a
hoop fan and documentary.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
So you put the two together. You got me hooked,
all right?
Speaker 9 (30:01):
You know?
Speaker 3 (30:01):

talking about this rockets in the Golden State Warrior game
and got shippy out the blue because it was supposed
to be over. It's thirteen win a five.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
Hey, I don't know what this was supposed to be over.
Both teams sitting there, you know their starters. Now Houston
had to bring his starters back. They should only be
up level now because he blew the wide most easiest
layup ever in history. Uh, Chippy, what the heck is
going on here? N a foul blow that he can't
blow a lamb?
Speaker 6 (32:09):
Now?
Speaker 3 (32:09):
Foul? Now?
Speaker 4 (32:10):
This should be it, but it's still a lot of time.
Four fourteen. All right, let's get your last call.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
This is the last car, last call, last call. Time
on the oh, I don't have it on me today
ever since you fail? All right, last call? All right?
Who we got, so let's do it.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Noah in Michigan, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
You are indeed the last call.
Speaker 9 (32:39):
All right, Thanks for having me on, guys.
Speaker 6 (32:41):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 9 (32:42):
OK, buddy, all right, my my question for you it
has to revolve around on my Detroit Pistons.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Right.
Speaker 9 (32:48):
I'm a Michigan man, I'm born and raised. I love
my Pistons. It's been a while since they've been in
the playoffs. What do you think that Caid Cunningham, or
as I like to call him, Caid cunning Him, needs
to do to overcome the obaiting that Jalen Brunson and
the New York Knicks are doing in order to win
this series. Thanks guys.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
I love the way Seward Thompson's gardener. He's making it
hard on him. Oh now I'll see why I got testy, Robert.
We watched that replay Rocks and the Warriors. Oh yeah,
he Chagoon has all the right to want to square up.
Watch you when you watch it, Monzie, cut it out.
I love the way he's playing them. There's nothing you
can do. He is Broadway Brunting for a reason. He
(33:27):
has perfected this. He's an actor. He's mastered it. And
Lucas does it. Lebron well, Luca doesn't flop as much,
but Luca complains more. But Lebron is, you know, flopped
over the years. Draymond knows how to draw files and
cheap stuff. These people master this. They learn how to
do it. Bruce Bowen all that kind of stuff. So
he has mastered it, and it's absolutely annoying because he
(33:49):
keeps baiting the refs. But I love the competitiveness of
this series. They missed calls on both sides, and I've
just enjoyed it. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
Yeah, I mean you, it's something you have to learn
because you don't want to get baited into it and
you don't want to have a comeback.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
To bite you do. We have time, we do.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
I'm just right now, Dmitri, Dmitri and Palm Beach. You're
on the couple of Fox Sports. Ready, we'll throw one
more in there, Dmitri.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (34:15):
Hey, guys, thank you, first time calling.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
Appreciate you on.
Speaker 8 (34:20):
Timent on this A d who is that talking about?
Speaker 6 (34:22):
The trade?
Speaker 8 (34:23):
Ad is? Yes, Uh, we'll say when when Gianni's or
Durant get traded and they're gonna get probably whoever gets
those guys, they're gonna have to give up three first
round picks and probably someone with a Matthew Sally, someone
that could be like a good player. Now you look
back on it, you know the Laker, I mean, the
Lakers only have to give up a first round pick,
and they didn't give up any other young guys, so
(34:43):
you think about it, they even though uh you know,
Luca doesn't play defense or whatnot. But I mean they
got I think they got fleehed a little bit Gallas
because what they're gonna get for Giannis and Durant.
Speaker 7 (34:56):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
Was it the greatest trade?
Speaker 1 (34:59):
No, but all Ultimately, if you don't, if you don't
have to pay Luca three hundred and fifty million dollars
and he does, and they and the Lakers don't win.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
I'm not saying that will never win.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
But if they, if they would have went to the
finals this year, it would have it would have been
even worse.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
It would have been like you're saying that, like if
they get knocked out in the first round, you could go,
uh huh.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
I just think Lake, Look Luca in a Laker jersey
at the age of twenty five to twenty six. Get
a long term that's just a great look for the league,
great look at Lakers.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
And I just feel like.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
But not with paying him three hundred fifty million dollars
when you don't think the guy plays defense and he
doesn't take care of his body like you gotta.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
It's a long term investment. And I get it, So
go get me street clothes. No, because They're gonna understand
it because they're looking at you. Got it, man, it
makes all the sense. You got Sga, I get it.
You got Giannis.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
They want a championship, got Donovan Mitchell and a cup,
two three picks.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
It's about winning one championship. That's about it. You're just
trying to win one. You ain't trying to love.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
But dang Kyrie always hurt. Ad Is always hurt.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
And you put them together, you know what to make
that is not peanut butter and jelly, which goes together seamlessly. Okay,
they just just they they they've made a game that
was a blowout the longest, not even reviewing this for
ten minutes.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
He got thrown out, didn't he You're dapping them up.
It looks like you got thrown out of the game.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Okay, that's weak. If they threw Spencer out? They did,
where's you know what I'm saying?
Speaker 3 (36:23):
That's week Okay, NBA.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
You've been testing and tough all playoffs. You got tossed
all of a sudden toss Spencer. The Jason Smith Show
with Mike Harmon is coming up next.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
I never miss your radio show. I never hear it,
so I never miss it.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Did you hear that
