(01:21):

mentioned it.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
I do want to say that.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Yeah, my high school contacted me today Martin Van Buren
High School. Shout out to them on Hillside Avenue and
two hundred and thirty second Street in Queens Village, New York.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
They've invited me to be the.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Speaker for graduation this June at Queen's College. That's where
they have the high school graduation at Queen's College, and
it will be an honor. I'll be in New York
as perfect as great and they have been nothing but
fantastic to me. When I think of Van Buren.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
What was young Robert Parker like when you you know
what I mean, Like, I know you now, But what
were you like in fourteen, the seventeen eighteen years old?

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Then? I was super ambitious.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
I went into that school with the idea I was
going to be a sports writer for a newspaper like that.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
And as you know, and I started an all sports newspaper.
And I'm not the thing that's crazy when whenever I
think about that, and I think, I told you just before,
I wrote a letter to Rupert Murdoch, cool with the
publisher the New York Post, and he sent me a
check for fifty dollars to start the paper. But that
idea in all sports newspaper. This is nineteen eighty I
was sixteen years old. The National came along the all

(02:38):
sports newspaper in this country in nineteen eighty nine, like
eight nine years later had them. That's crazy, though, that
I even came up with the idea of like have
a newspaper but make it all sports, and then they
actually started one nine years late.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
I say, I tell people all the time when you
and both of us get a lot of young people
to come, you know, ask us for advice and all that,
tell people you better get to it because nothing knew
under the sun. It's just always my phrase is a
race to get it out, you know what I mean,
somebody that's eight million people on this earth. Your idea
is original, but it ain't that original. You just got
to hurry and get it out because that's how this

(03:12):
thing works. And you'll look up what I had, this idea.
I just started this. I wanted to do that. Better
hurry up and get it out. But yeah, so I'm
just curious what you were like. You were you wild out?
Are you getting in trouble?

Speaker 2 (03:22):
No?

Speaker 4 (03:22):
No, I was. I was a great kid.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Just no, I'm just saying, no, no problems, you know
what I mean, just did my work and all that,
and you know it's my feelings hurt ball team and
all that.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
Yeah, that's well. You know, at least you didn't turn
your back on baseball. No, no, no, you know what
I mean. You didn't say screw baseball for.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Cutting you know what, Absolutely that was one of those moments.
I agree with you, like I've always thought about that
in life. It didn't turn me off to the game.
Some people they get come from the team. And that's
why I told you.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
I didn't tell you. I'll tell you that story one day.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
One of the greatest life lessons I ever learned was
between my junior and senior year with my experience with basketball.
What a literal life lesson that I'll die still remembering
and using in life because it was that profile for.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Sure, no doubt. All Right, we're gonna talk some WNBA.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
I know your thrilled, I know you can win me
And Rob g say, you know what it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Get Rob Parker going yeah, okay, this is just like
what do you guys?

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Okay, I'm gonna just leave it to you. No, you
know what, you're excited about this look at you.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
No, the conversation we were having was about Kaitlyn Clark
and can the Kaitlin Clark effect continue into this next
coming year. We obviously know the Final Four run the
year before, and then obviously her rookie campaign, and that's
all the conversation, right.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
It was devisive.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
She's great, she's great, but she's not as good as
them WNBA players kind of pushing her down, and so
we were thinking will this carry over and continue into
the next season. So you look at her preseason game
of the Fever as well, one point three million viewers, which,
by the way, only two of ESPN's fifty seven NBA

(05:00):
preseason games since twenty ten had ever drawn an audience
like that, and both feature Lebron and twenty seventeen is
you know, in twenty eighteen, so him becoming the Laker
and all of that. So she's doing Laker Lebron Laker
numbers when it comes to viewership in a preseason game.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
And then can you buried the lead on that can?
Because it is a fudge job.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
This is why I got an issue with what did
they play like some other terrible w NBA team paper
Oh okay International, That was an international game, So you're
gonna judge that based off of playing like, I don't
know what w NBA teams. The Detroit Shocked, the Brooklyny Okay,
you were still in Detroit when they lived. You were

(05:41):
still there. The New York Liberty that plays in Brooklyn
or Westchester. Give me another team, the Sparks where you live,
the Sparks, I'm the Sparks, the Minnesota what is it
links or whatever it is, I don't know what it is.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
By the way, you're in a role right now for
somebody who don't watch you doing pretty well.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
But you get my point on this, and my point
is you can't look at that game as an ordinary
w NBA preseason game. The tickets were going for four
hundred and forty dollars because it was Brazil for them
to put out a story and act like her magic
with the numbers for just a preseason game, do you

(06:20):
feel me?

Speaker 4 (06:21):
No, that's some legit points.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
However, people still watched, People still tuned in, mind you,
they tuned in the middle of the playoffs, and we
look at her watching the GATORAE commercial. They had a
bunch of athletes and who just ended it Caitlyn Clark.
So you look at some of the growth they had
last year, WNBA had twenty two regular season games that
average more than a million viewers, and if you add
the All Star game in the draft, that was twenty
four programs that they had that had over a million

(06:46):
and that obviously, as we know, is rare. Then today
Asia Wilson the best player in the WNBA. I know
Kaitlin Clark's the most popular, but the best player is
Asia Wilson. Dropped her shoe by the way, amazing Nike
commercial for her for her shoe campaign and she dropped
it sold out in five minutes, the Asia Wilson suit,

(07:06):
which I'm gonna grab a feet for my daughter whenever
they restock, I think Thursday or something. But so the
question is is this something that's real? Is this something
that is tangible? It's just something that now they can
depend on and saying we actually have something sustainable. We're
not saying we're gonna be getting TV network deals like
these other sports and billions of dollars as of yet,
but something that they can say the momentum continues, the

(07:28):
momentum continues to grow, and they have something that you know,
they can feat so they like Caitlin Clark. You know,
this isn't college where eventually she leaves, like she can
be in the WABA ten fifteen, twenty years. So you
have that star power Angel Reese who is massive on commercials,
social media and obviously in the game playing as well.
Now in the league for another ten fifteen years. You're

(07:48):
starting to get these starts page now in the league.
For the two years they got the French the female
win ben Yama have to get her name. She's now in.
So is this something where they can actually build upon
and finally start to say, look at this growth that
we've had now for a sustained amount of years.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
No, I'm just here's my issue with all that you
talked about the w last year with the number lost
fifty million dollars, Number one, number two, there's still averaging.
The average attendance was nine thousand. The league hasn't been
around for a week or ten days or one years.
The league's been around for thirty some odd years. Nine
thousand and those TV numbers. That's nice for her. She

(08:27):
is the Harlem grow chatters when she shows up. They're
not doing that this day have arenas where they're getting
six thousand people on a regular Tuesday night game.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
So yes, you've seen it, and when she shows up at.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Those games, yes, But I think, and that's what I'm saying, like,
I can't look at this and go like it's going
to be, oh yeah, it's here to stay, and they're
they're going to, uh for now on sell out every
game or or have these unbelievable ratings as long as
Haitlyn Clark and even her thing after a while could fade.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
After we've seen what we see it.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
We see that for five six years, I've seen it.
That's where I've seen sided. Now we're wishing her all
the best. Juju Watkins Juju gets healthy, right still, maybe
one more year in USC after she gets healthy, and
then she gets in there. You got Page now in there.
You start to hope that you get all these players
in there again. And then you got Dominique Malunga. Who
Dominique Malunga, dom but Dominique Malunga. She is the number

(09:28):
two pick. I would have probably picked her number one
over page. But she's doing dropstep turnaround dunks on people,
which could make this thing more interesting. I do think
they're starting to accumulate enough star power, and again that
they will be there for decades that you'll start to
know some day, start to know players, start to know
some rivalry, start to know some beasts and have something.
And that you can't equate it to money, because I

(09:50):
do agree they're not gonna make money quite yet where
it will warrant that side of the business. That's not
gonna happen uh anytime necessarily sue it could for the
players themselves. I got more commercial deals, I got to
shoot it. I got this gatory commercial. But the league
in and of itself, I don't think it's gone for
sudden gonna be making millions of billions of dollars. But yeah,

(10:10):
I do think with some of the players that are
coming in, I do think there's some sustainability for them
that they hadn't had rob for like fifteen twenty years.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
I just think long term, Caitlyn Clark is a once
in a lifetime And I'm not saying that the other
player They've always been And you you you say this
because you've watched WNBA and been the game taking daughters.
They've been great players who play in the league. Let's
not make it like they haven't been for sure. Caitlyn
is different, okay, because she was playing the game different

(10:41):
from the way women play. Okay, you agree with that.
She was exactly taking the logo three. So guys got
wait a minute, what is this. I've never seen this,
not in a women's game. I couldn't watch it. And
the other thing too. As much as we talk about it,
women still don't go to the games like they should,
and and and until women embrace the league, I just

(11:04):
don't see where it's going to grow. There more women
than men, and they won't go. You talk to women,
you know this, and they're like, I'll go to w NBA.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
We're going to Lakers, right, No, we're living out here,
going to Clippers, Yeah, going to Nick's gonna Yeah, you're.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Going to the what are they call it, Sparks? Sparks
doing it to the Sparks? Rob g you're married, you
got two daughters. How many Sparks games have you been to?

Speaker 4 (11:30):
That would be zero? Man, There you go. That's what
I'm talking about.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
But it's not like I'm actively avoiding it either. I
I haven't been seen Lebron playing person either. No, but
that's different because of the person, Because of money. I'm
not going to be a bunch of times I never
saw lebron I mean because you get older and the
tickets are you.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Know, four seats. ROGI hold, hold, hold, I don't get that.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
Rob g is the king of getting mad at me
for not using TV and radio to get you.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
Like I haven't tried it is the problem. Okay, that
actually did pull the curtain back. One time Chris started
getting rest in peace, was like, yeah, I'm gonna make
sure I can get yourself, saying I'll get you a game,
but how many tickets you need to If I can
get to three, be great. If you get two, that'll
be good. Yeah, no problem, will take care of you.
And then at the day cone you know I shouldn't
do it. After all, I'll make you the next time,
then the next time, and then the next time, and
then then it never happened.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
Is that why I'm sitting here right now? Yes?

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Because he never he gotta go, he's got he never
got me Laker tickets.

Speaker 6 (12:22):
It was like, first off, he's messing up the melonin
color of the show. Secondly, he ain't never give me
my Laker tickets.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
It's unbelievable. You didn't go to me and you went
to Chris. I mean, I just don't understand.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
What you would you give me free tickets? I would
have gotten new tickets. No, you wouldn't you pay for tickets? Yeah,
but I could have got you. They don't have to
be four hundred dollars. I get you in the top.
You're the real fans.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
You want to be in? You in the building, right,
I could get you. Maybe.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
No, I want to see. I want to feel the
sweat when Lebron goes. I'm a little disappointed by what. Yeah,
I'm gonna say, Okay, if you want me to, I
would hit you up. Well, we got the season? Now,
now how many Dodger tickets? I don't even like baseball,
but I'm gonna need to see. Ay, you'll go seetan
you've never seen either.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Take your wife and the kids, go out fortnight. Robe.
I got you all right, eight I was gonna call now,
I'll tell you off there. You're gonna be mad.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Yeah, I already
know Rob g He had a sweet empty with JUSTI.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I believe it.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
He had a sweet anybody. Rob could have been a
sweet stitches What who's the NBA player that Kelvin dropped
dime on at some place.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
I don't know what you're talking about, Rob, that was
never happened.

Speaker 6 (13:38):
Seat, But if Dub gets me Dodger ticket, I'll be
like Rob. I need to see Joe Adele in person,
friend of the inside the parking. That's right, he's been
off four times. I need to at least see him
in action one time.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
At least down in Anaheim or when they come here?
All right?

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Is the recent
surgeon popularity women's basketball led by Caitlyn Clarks sustainable or
is this just a fad kind of thing?

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Get you to a Sparks game, to Rob Park, we'll continue.
Let me see, like you ain't hear me.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Two things that will that will happen when when hell
freezes over, I'm gonna go to church and to a
sports game. All right, let me get you you know
what we can do to listen to Doug Gottlieb on
the way home. Those are the three things you will
literally ascended.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
That's gonna fire. You would literally.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Ascend at that point like you would have like there'd
be no more reason for you to live at that point,
you would just literally you were just a sin all right.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Seven seven.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Ninety nine off Fox. It is the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. Rob Park, you can knock all that
out in one day too, By.

Speaker 6 (14:44):
The way, and stay unless you're listening to Doug Gottlieb.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
Actually you're going to church first and then going through
the sparks jam and then listen to Doug Gottlieb on
the way home.

Speaker 3 (14:53):

Speaker 5 (15:33):
Got some calls here on the conversation of WNBA has
had some success over the last couple of years, Kaitlin
Clark being a big portion of this. And now again,
you had a game yesterday, a preseason game against the
against Brazil one point three million, Asia Wilson her shoe
sell out in five minutes. They're just having a little
run and Rob cannot wait for the Washingtons to take
him to a game with us, Me and my daughters.

(15:54):
Uncle Rob coming right, don't stay away? Do act like
you can't hear me? What now your headphones don't work?

Speaker 6 (15:59):
What?

Speaker 4 (15:59):
Hello? Can I just say quickly?

Speaker 6 (16:01):
It's weird that robbed don't like you know niche sports
like a WNBA air quotes when his website is the
niche of black dudes and days just stop all seven
of them. Rob got more staffers than players. I know,
I'm personal he is personally.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
How you doing that, Rob G?

Speaker 6 (16:16):
He was telling me like, hey, you know what, Rob G?
What Aaron Judge is doing what? I might as well
put him on payroll because he's keeping us afloat right.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Now, let me tell you I have what you know
where I work, Rob G.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
I've watched more Yankee games in my life sitting next
to this man in six seven, eight months than I
did the other thirty forty years.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
The Dodgers are on. Let me tell you no, no,
no, no no no.

Speaker 5 (16:40):
Steven Sager as my witness, let me tell you what's
ever not on the Yankees. I'm not saying other teams
don't pop up, but let me tell you it's not ever.
I've never seen the back of your hand so much
in my life. I gotta don't let Aaron Judge be
up robbed you. I could spit the great I could.
It could be the greatest thing ever said on a
microphone in the history mankind, and Rob g he will

(17:02):
be not paying attention because Aaron.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Judge is up there.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Look at you get to these Frank in Colorado, you're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
What's up, Frank?

Speaker 8 (17:11):
I am trashing my Colorado Avalanche to the complete collapse
in Game seven, the third period. I am trashing my
Colorado Rockies, and I am trashing any sports casters anywhere
that continue to talk about Lebron right now when there's
other things going on in sports. The next time we
talk about Lebron it should be when he announces his

(17:31):
retirement and then gets his just do as one of
the best players ever.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
There you go, all right, appreciate it, Andre, And I
think that was what we called earlier who'd been waiting on,
waiting so long.

Speaker 5 (17:41):
He was I'm gonna get my trash talk, and I'm
waiting on for two and a half hours.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Andre, you're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, dray, Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Thanks?

Speaker 9 (17:51):
Taking Nicole Happy Tuesday listening. In terms of the WNBA,
I have to say I don't think the growth that
they've seen relative to Clayton Kitlyn Clark is sustainable because
the supernova is a supernova. You don't have somebody that's special.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Every year.

Speaker 9 (18:05):
The viewership went up over a million people from twenty
twenty three to twenty twenty four, you know, and that's
just specifically to the Kitling Clark effect.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
You know.

Speaker 9 (18:14):
Now it has gone up from twenty twenty forward. Again,
I say, if you're a hoops fan, then you support
the WNBA. I'm very firm on that. You see NBA.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Plays how many games.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
They don't have a team in Boston, right, Connecticut Son,
Connecticut Sky, but yeah, we do check.

Speaker 9 (18:30):
Them out and it's just one of these things. I
go back to the late great David Stern and bringing
a WNBA institution in nineteen ninety seven, and I'm just,
you know, rock solid furm on it at Hoopers support
and appreciate the women's game. Now, obviously it's apples and orange.
It's not the same thing. But to your point, no, Kaitlyn,
we don't have one of these the Michael Jordan's band commercial.

(18:53):
You know, it's just something that you just don't see
all the time in sports. Okay, So there's certain inflection
points that are unique, and that's Clark. We're not gonna
I'm not debating that. And I think frankly, there needs
to be more support across the women's game.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
For right, That's what andre I was saying. They're still
drawing their teams, drawing six thousand people. The league's been
around for thirty some odd.

Speaker 9 (19:13):
Years exactly, and so I just think we need to
use the WNBA needs to use this and say how
can we keep this curve going upwards and just try
to take this momentum and keep it going in the future.
But you're not going to have this year over year.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Thanks taking a call appreciate you.

Speaker 5 (19:30):
Man.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
How about MJ and New Orleans A guy, you're in
the couple of funds brothers in the.

Speaker 10 (19:36):
Building, Ben ye brothers are back again?

Speaker 2 (19:40):
What it is? What's going on?

Speaker 10 (19:43):
Oh man, I'm chilling checking out you grace man. He
man manable whether w NBA to continue this because unlike
what David Stern had in Magic and Bird, they have
Michael Jordan's So Juju's going to be coming in next year? Uh,
you got Page coming in as an MVP candidate.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
The year after night Right, She's not coming in next year,
she's her. I think he's saying it was like literal
calendar year.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Said the next year. I hated on the wn A.
I hating on Juju with the good Juju?

Speaker 4 (20:14):
How many how many w NBA games have you been to? MJ?

Speaker 10 (20:19):
There's no team in New Orleans, man, and if there'd
probably be a bad team like the Saints and the people.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
But Rob sham on you for not being a fan.

Speaker 10 (20:30):
Of the w n B A being that they played
some classic basketball. There's some posts up that there's the
speedy guards, there's there's toughness.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Love the w NBA game. Man to the ball.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Yeah, MJ.

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Boy, let me tell you some MJ. That was an
MJ call. He was Michael Jordan cars right there. I
wanted to ben myself. Don't worry about the MJ. I'm
gonna get robbed to a game. Matter of fact, rob G,
that's gonna be one of my bets with Roy. It
won't be a thing like all shoes or money or wings.
That's gonna be if I win. You gotta come to
a game.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
We're gonna get like front rows so I can get
us some front row seats up there. All right, we're
making a family, man. I'll find a family. I'll bring
you a wife. I'll find a family, and then we'll

you never know. We're gonna be walking you down Issle.
We're gonna be groomsmen in these streets. Man, all right,
Eddie House getting ready to join us and let us
know why the Celtics are the greatest thing ever created
in just a moment right now?

Speaker 4 (21:37):
Is Steve sagree with? What's trending?

Speaker 5 (21:50):
Well, we got Eddie House getting ready to join the

Fox Sports Rady and by the way, he ain't never
been dumped Eddie House.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
I guess now a couple of Fox Sports Ready. I
got you, Eddie? What's upbody?

Speaker 2 (22:05):
What's adding? What's going down?

Speaker 7 (22:07):
So?

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Were you in Boston for that tobacco last night? Or
are you watching at home?

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Nah? I was, I was live and direct.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
You were in Boston?

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Yeah? Yeah, in direct watch it first hand?

Speaker 7 (22:19):
What?

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Yeah? What Eddie? I mean?

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Even the third quarter when they gave the game, they
got the knicks back in the game, Nineteen of their
twenty shots were all three pointers, and obviously they were off.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
They missed forty five threes.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
How shocked were you that somebody else didn't, you know
what I mean, didn't go to this stuff?

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Just take a mid range jumper.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Uh, you know what, why was going on? You really
didn't really peep it until after you reflect it back
on it, like because when you watching the game, were
you in the game? Because most of the time when
I'm doing the game and stuff like that, I'm like,
I'm like immersed in the game. So I'm I'm in
there with them. But it was like at times where
you say, hey, man, what the kind of adjustment we're

(23:04):
gonna make? I just feel like we didn't make an adjustment.
We continue to do the same thing over and over again.
I got to give the next credit. I don't want to.
I don't want to pile on the Celtics. I want
to give credit to the Knicks for them making their
adjustments defensively, how they make their adjustments, and then also
offensively how they attacked us, because they didn't they knocked

(23:27):
down three as well. They put us in rotation. They
were never in rotation, you know, they never were scrambling around,
and it looked like we were always scrambling around on
the defensive end, and so hard to give credit to them.
But at the same time, we should have had at
least one or two posts ups. But you know, and

(23:49):
I'm not gonna sit here and make excuses for Zingis
was not around. You know, he got stick and I
think that would have definitely changed the game. And with
all that said, they squeaked out a three point overtime.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
No, we're with you, we are doing that. It took
everything they had just to barely win.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Cause for the Knicks foot, for the Celtic to lose forty,
I mean, miss forty five threes and you only barely
win it overtime, That's incredible to me.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Yeah, because I mean we knocked down with four more
you know, that's twelve more points. We win the game.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
That's exactly what That's exactly what we said. I said,
if they I said, if they make forty, they win.
I mean, if they you know, they missed forty instead
of forty five, they win.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
So so YouTube feel good that they'll be able to
make some adjustments and get back in, you know, kind
of control the series as many of us thought they would.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah, I think they'll bounce. I think they'll bounce that.
I'm not worried about it at all. I think this
was one of those anomalies that happened in sports at times.
You know, you'll see somebody go out there, a guy
throw a no hitter and has an e RA A six. No, Right,
I appreciate yah.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Would you say he gave some baseball love talking about.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
E r Yes, I said, a guy that could throw
a one no hitter in his career and then gives up,
you know, is a career e ra A of six.
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (25:11):
No doubt. Eddie's a big baseball guy.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Man.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
I like play short stuff growing up in Oakland.

Speaker 5 (25:16):
Let me ask you, speaking of Oakland, I mean in
San Francisco now. But let's go to the Bay with
the Warriors. Warriors symbol ones. I'm excited about this one
of that. I think it's gonna be some competitive I
think it'll be good.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
I think is gonna pay Rudy Gobert and a headlock again.
This could be great. What are you making this serious?
And who do you who do you favor?

Speaker 2 (25:34):
You know that's a that's a tough one, man, because
you know, looking at the momentum that the Warriors have
coming in playing well, going to seven games, and the
experience that they have. You know, I never could bet
against Steph Curry. I just can't. I've seen it firsthand
eyes and you know, one of the no, not one

(25:56):
of the greatest shooter to ever play in the game.
And so and then you had Jimmy Butler and then
their championship pedigree, Minnesota hungry, young team they got signed.
I think that's I think this game. I think it's
gonna go seven and I can't. I can't go one

(26:18):
way or the other because in seven games, it depends
on who's cracking on that seven game series right there,
who is the team that is really locked in because
I think that they got sized and they could present
a lot of different problems. Minnesota is who I'm talking
about to the Warriors because of their size. But I
just can't discount Steph Curry.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Yeah, I mean I get you heard that last year
at the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
I can't bet against Patrick Mahomes and their pedigree, and
then they got boat raced. I just I think Minnesota
is gonna be in the same way. You looked at
what it took for the Knicks to win that one game, boy,
I mean, uh, it was also rough for the for
the Warriors. I mean, they were up three to one
in that series. They could have easily lost that series,

(27:02):
especially that poor performance in Game six at home, Addie,
I don't feel as confident as you do about them.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
I don't feel confident. I'm not super confident, like, oh yeah,
I'm betting the money on the Warriors. I'm saying that
it could go either way. And I'm only only I'm
only saying that because of Steph Curry. I'm not saying
that because of any anybody else. I'm saying that because
of Steph Curry. I've watched what he's done. I watched

(27:29):
how and even the game that he had the fourteen
in the fourth quarter and ended up with twenty two.
He made everybody else around him better, you know what
I mean. And so when you have a guy like
that out there, you can't discredit what he's able to
bring to the table. So and how great he is,
and so I can never I can't bet against him,

(27:51):
but I think it's gonna be a hell of a series.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
Well, I tell you what, another guy who is talking
about great. We had a conversation about him earlier. That's
Yo kich Yo Kids goes for a forty some piece
with twenty war that he already already ridiculous. We'll just
talk about that in particular game that series. Right there
they were able to get that win. I don't know
what okase he was doing following like they were.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Down at he well, you know what he did. He
came in there, he gave he had sixty four wings, right,
forty two of them was flat and twenty two of
them drum drummers, and then the sixth was Celery carrot.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
What about the ranch? Was there any ranch there?

Speaker 7 (28:34):
No?

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Oh, he had some sauce there too. He gave some
sauce with you. You know what I mean. But Yo,
Kitches is the best player in the league right now.
Like his hands down. You watch what he does, how
he does it, it looks effortless. But then at the
same time, if you like the first time ever was
able to watch him in person, notice that is his

(29:01):
first step is a whole lot faster than what people
give him credit for. And that's why big stay off
of him. That's why he's able to get that three.
When he got that three at the top of the sky,
when he drafts step, dude had to back up because
he understands it that step and once he gets that step,
if he gets an angle on you, he's so strong
you're never getting back in front of him, and so no,

(29:23):
he's amazing. Man. I love watching him play because he
plays the game the right way. He plays it physical,
he plays it smart. He plays with not no flare,
but he plays with flash in the basketball world. If
that makes sense.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
You're done, I mean, and not to mention that the
passing ability is remarkable. All right, Eddie man, we appreciate you.
We'll get back to this game. We gotta still semi
close on here one nineteen one, fourteen forty six seconds
left Cleveland and Indiana.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
We'll see how this all ends. We appreciate you, man,
all right, Right on, y'all take care of yes, sir,
thank you?

Speaker 5 (29:58):
What Donovan Mitchell, Uh, they're having a b for the
all game. They've been running into each other collect they
just they literally just stopped from the dunk on when
he dunked on Donovan. Now Donovan and elbowed him. They
are been going back and forth all literally all game. Uh,
We'll see how this all pans out. Plus Last Call
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven

(30:20):

Speaker 5 (30:37):
Most Overrated Who Robbed You? Tyre's Halliburton is He's on
a mission right now. The league, what what a comeback?
I'm gonna say, what a choke you choke job would
have come back? I don't know if we've had three
games now, however you want to call it? One twenty
one nineteen, the Pacers steal it with a game winning
three with one second left.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
They gave up. They gave up a.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Miss from miss so right that that put that was
two points, and then Halliburton intentionally missed the second free throw.
Yeah it looked like he did because because you don't
want to make with twelve seconds.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
Left, they stole the inbound. Was terrible, but I wanted
to say it steal it. That was like he just
gave it to him. He was like that, Yeah, wow,
we've had we've had three so nobody was three game.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
That's three games now where where you look at it
and scratch your head up twenty blowing them out looking great?

Speaker 5 (31:34):
That's right, Cleveland. That might be a big blow and
that could be your season because guys are banged. You
needed that win at least by you. You know what
I mean to buy you and some more time you down?
Oh two, going to the too Indianapolis. So wow, everybody's banged.
Your star player Garland and All Star Hurt Mobley and
all star like guy? Was he actually all start to
see I can't remember he's all Star like hurt Man?

(31:56):
All right, Well it's time now for last call, good.

Speaker 4 (32:10):
Man.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
That was crazy last car who we got Trey in Texas.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio and
you are the last call.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
What's up? Guy? I'm trying to get you out earlier, man,
but I got just connected.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
Okay, how are you?

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Good Man?

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Good Man.

Speaker 10 (32:26):
I was trying to trash to colleague Mike Harmon and
Jason smith Man.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
They're talking about the Warriors. We're gonna get blown out.
Look at him now, Oh you.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
Mean earlier in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
They were saying, yeah, last week.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
I think it was like Friday.

Speaker 5 (32:39):
Okay, all right, there you have it. Shoot, all right,
they're listening, that's right, They're coming on.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Now, coming on next they're listening to you, all right, man, Yeah,
we'll see if yeah, I'll tell them. I'll say you guys,
take calls here. People who listen to your show want to.

Speaker 4 (32:56):
Talk to you. No, Trey, Trey want to let him know.
He want to let her have it.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
The last time it took calls, I think Alexander Graham
Bell was still working on the phone.

Speaker 11 (33:06):
Moby Dick was a guppy look at and on the
flip side, rob take more calls in the telethon. There's
a happy medium somewhere to be found here, guys. It's
called sports talk radio.

Speaker 5 (33:19):
The best the best part about it was Rober You
saw his eyes looking at that last the last call.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
He was looking at it like, oh, let's take another one.
I know haller Burn hit the game winner, but I
got a call right here blinking. This is blinking. This
is not micing a mad dog.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Okay, where it just the whole show was called this
is a nice mix of sports talk.

Speaker 4 (33:41):
For the people. And they do appreciate that.

Speaker 9 (33:43):
I do.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
They do appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
Hey, many don't like calls or producers that don't want
to scream them those ant like calls back.

Speaker 4 (33:52):
Just leave it on that Robberie, you enjoy it. Don't
act like that, although you do.

Speaker 7 (33:58):
You do.

Speaker 5 (33:58):
You did have like a two week where you knew
your six weeks were coming. Re Remember his feet will
be up right here, but we're not here. Me and
Rob were like, is he gonna he's gonna get the call?
Rob g was not here for two weeks.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
I'm sorry you're back now your energized. Yeah, man, get
back on your diet.

Speaker 5 (34:16):
Yeah, I damn robbed now he wanted on people doing
all right, rubbing in your fan.

Speaker 4 (34:21):
Look at me, Look at me. I've lost twenty six bounds.
I'm hating.

Speaker 5 (34:27):
What are you making this serious? We got right now? Good,
this one's starting. God stayed up seven to four on Minnesota.
I think this is gonna be a good one. I
think I'm picking Minnesota, but's going six Minnesota and six.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
I like Minnesota too. I'm hoping it's for but six
tunds about right, I said, I'm hoping.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
Yeah, Steph, Stephan, Jimmy gonna get one at least at
minimum one. But I think, uh, you know, get a couple.

Speaker 6 (34:52):
I've read a stat I don't know this true, but
I believe it because it's on Twitter. Anything on Twitter's real.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
It's all real. Oh god, I hope.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
According to Twitter, has never lost a series in under
six games. Every series has ever been in that he's
lost has gone at least six unless it's like a
play and when he's gotten, yes, lost a series.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
I'm just saying, right, I got to think about it.
People bringing that up, but he's lost.

Speaker 6 (35:14):
Like playing yes, yeah, okay, huh so he's never been swept,
never lost in five and that's why he's the goat.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
Yeah, because the internet, the same Twitter people actually told
me he was the goat.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
And I said, okay, so y'all go to that's just unbelieva.
They go, you can.

Speaker 5 (35:31):
Here's why you can never be the goat. You can't
be the goat when in your prime you weren't the
best player in your team. It just doesn't make sense.
Just doesn't make sense to me. Kevin Durant was the
best player. We all agree, okay, and.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Not by said it too. Everybody knows. Everybody knows it.
It's not by far, but he was the better player.
And I don't even think that was a debate.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
You can't be the best player winning finals outside of
maybe once you weren't the best player. You were second third.
Even when they lost, they were up three to one.
He didn't play better than Kyrie. He didn't play better
than Lebron, you know what I mean, Like, you can't
be that.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Guy where you dominate. The three to one choke is
also on his record. Yeah, and it's okay. I'll never
forget it as long as I'm alive.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
And I just don't understand, like, because then you make
me sound like I'm a Steph hater because you're calling
him the Goat. He is incredible. He's one of the
best players ever. He's the best shoot I've ever seen,
But the Goat. Come on, man, that's just come on, Mike,
Come on, man, Mike right, Mike got his iPad right now,
looking at it, laughing and talking about and I took
it personally.
