the NBA. I mean there was talk about NBC used

But the endings of the game made you think one
of two things. Your thought was, damn, I hate analytics. Correct,

My thought was, damn, that's some terrible coaching. How are
these guys picking up a check as NBA coaches because
they mishandled the game.

Okay, so here's my thing on this. Analytics are supposed
to be used in cohoots with other things. Right, all right,
we're gonna take these numbers, We're gonna take these stats.
We're gonna take this data. We're gonna put it together.
Oh it makes sense when you shoot these three from
the corner, or it makes sense if we let this
guy go to the hole because he's done. Oh, it
makes sense that we file this person and you name

the sport. Oh, it makes sense if you swing a
bat and we did this, we get home runs, and
why chance and try to get a double when you
can get a home run, because a home run can
be worth more than a double. I get that, that's
absolutely a part of it. However, you look bad when
it becomes the entirety of what you're doing. And we
have seen that from sport to sport, where that becomes
exactly what a league is doing or a particular team

is doing. So I use baseball. You love baseball MLB, bro, Well,
let's talk about a baseball right. It was when guys
were only swinging for home runs. Whatever happened to just
getting a single, whatever happened to get double, whatever happened
going for steals. What doesn't make sense if you get
out is not worth it if you get that, and
baseball became a little boring and esthetically pleasing to the eye,
to the fans of viewership. Go back to the Celtics
last night is where I want to start. There's no

way you can beat up and dominating that game where
Mew and I are sitting here watching it, and what
did you say while watching it them having about a
fifteen to sixteen point lead.

I said, it makes no sense that they keep shooting
threes with the big lead, because if you don't make them,
what happens is you give the other team a chance
to get back into the game.

the game because there was a point where they were
up twenty, up twenty, that was a high water mark. Yes,
then the high water was supposed to be it. We
were supposed to drown the Knicks, but they didn't. Then
they shot ten straight threes and missed all of them.

And what happens. The Knicks get life. What happened? They
have the clutch player of the year and Jalen Brunson.
What happens.

They start to move the ball, getting buckets, they getting momentum,
they get injury energy, and they start to believe they
can win this game. And what was disappointing was the
fact that they analytically, this is what we've done all year.
We're the most shooting you know, we shoot more threes
than any other team in the history of the NBA.
We shoot, we should we shoot. Don't change who we are. No,
that's exactly what the postseason is. The postseason is about

the A word adjustments. It's okay to say, all right,
this is who we are as a whole collectively, but
for right now, this next three minute period, we're gonna
do this. Hey, you know what, I'm starting to notice
they're letting us blah blah blah. Why don't we do this?
Why don't we get to the whole? Jalen Brown, who
is too good rob and Finals MVP. He's too good

the main focal point of his game. He's got a
great mid range game. He's strong, he can get to
the hole. He said, maybe some truth to shooting too
many threes today. Goes on to say, can't just fire
up threes when other team has the momentum and we
can get to the paint, we can get to the

free line. So to me, they got locked into with
this is who we are. Analytics say we're the best
team ever. They're gonna fall. Eventually, They're gonna fall. Eventually.

was a bad one. So I'll just stop there with
this with the Celtics because on the the other game,
the thunder theirs was simply, well it makes sense, couse,
we're up three or up four if you file and

then they can only make one or two and then
if we come down, Well, you shot yourself in the
foot when you started the file two prematurely.

freaking out and now they're at the game. Well, we
shouldn't have filed too early. Well we didn't execute it right.

do it right. Just play the game. I think analytics
shot both of those teams who were up big in
the foot, specifically in no second halves.

And that leads to your point I believe, which is
it wasn't just analytics, it was just bad coaching. Like seriously,
you talked about the Celtics. Not only did they shoot
ten straight threes in the third period, nineteen of their
twenty shots were threes. That's just nineteen of their twenty.

It doesn't even make sense. You have a lead, especially
when they're not falling time out. Let's make a play. Hey,
get in the block. We're gonna go take the ball
to the hole. Here's a play. Let's stop the bleeding,
Let's get a bucket, Let's get a couple of free throws.
That's where coaching comes in, the idea, this is who
we are. I agree, that's the lamest thing I've ever heard.

It's just like a bad picture in the postseason. Who's
blown leads and he's been your closer all year. He
doesn't have it right now, Okay, we're gonna go We're
gonna go back to him. No, we've used him all
right now he's not picture like he was earlier, and
you're gonna put out, you know, like have him go

It's clear he doesn't have it, and you have to
make adjustments in situation. We talked about that with JJ

nobody to stop, and we're just gonna keep doing the
same thing. That we we're gonna jack.

Dang's dang fault. And it was this was coaching. And
here's the thing. None of it made sense. This people
have done this.

I understand the fouling people, so that you're okay, But
the only problem here is okay, see had the Nuggets
down by three, no timeouts, right, no joker on the.

Floor, nope, trying to get back in the game, and
they fouled immediately, which makes no sense.

Okay, and then what does that do stop the clock
allow him to get back in the game, which is crazy.
I didn't understand the fouling right away and allowing time
to be left crust. And the worst part is instead
of fouling, the worst that could happen if say they

go down or whatever and you you know, and they
and they make a shot, is that they tie the
game and you go to overtime. You know, you don't lose.
There's no way you can. Unless you're fouling him when
he's shooting a three pointer. You're not going to lose
the game. And that's what you have to look at. Terrible, terrible,
terrible coaching in both situations to me, and I think

it was that to me, that cost both of these
teams games that they should have won. And and Vegas,
I mean, I don't think Vegas lost that much money.

but I don't think many people put money on them.

and win Game one, that you might look back and
if the Nuggets win that series, you will never forget

think in essence we're saying the same thing. It's bad

Brunts and some other smaller guards and Josh Hart and

you know, and get some buckets. As if al Horfer
is not out there, you can't draw a pick and
switch and put him on the block. That was so
disappointing just as a fan of the game as well
sthetically watching.

But I think the Celtics are going to be more

series won, they shouldn't have won that game six. I
mean that should have been a Game seven. I just
don't buy into them at all. And I think that
the Celtics, I mean, they have that championship DNA, one
of the most deepest teams in the NBA, and I
know they'll be able to adjust from this. I mean
how It's like Jalen Brown, he seemed kind of pissed
in the press conference about it.

baseball became a little boring and esthetically pleasing to the eye,
to the fans of viewership. Go back to the Celtics
last night is where I want to start. There's no

fifteen to sixteen point lead.

And what happens. The Knicks get life. What happened? They
have the clutch player of the year and Jalen Brunson.

can win this game. And what was disappointing was the
fact that they analytically, this is what we've done all year.

that's exactly what the postseason is. The postseason is about

I understand the fouling people, so that you're okay, But
the only problem here is okay, see had the Nuggets
down by three, no timeouts, right, no joker on the.

Floor, nope, trying to get back in the game, and
they fouled immediately, which makes no sense.

Okay, and then what does that do stop the clock
allow him to get back in the game, which is crazy.
I didn't understand the fouling right away and allowing time
to be left crust. And the worst part is instead
of fouling, the worst that could happen if say they

and they make a shot, is that they tie the
game and you go to overtime. You know, you don't lose.
There's no way you can. Unless you're fouling him when
he's shooting a three pointer. You're not going to lose
the game. And that's what you have to look at. Terrible, terrible,
terrible coaching in both situations to me, and I think

it was that to me, that cost both of these
teams games that they should have won. And and Vegas,
I mean, I don't think Vegas lost that much money.
