That's right, with T with a T at the end.
All right, let's.
Speaker 4 (03:58):

Speaker 1 (04:11):
He told him about coming on here with I know
it's overtime for me like the Knicks last night.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
There you go. It didn't have to be, but.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
I can't wait to get there. I'm so upset right
now with the Celtics. It was something I wish Eddie
House was on right now. I know we'll get to him. Well,
I'd love to hear what he's gotta say.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
No matter, they're gonna win any way.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
I had them winning a f I ain't winning it
for so they gonna win in four and a half.
But account last night we nice.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
We like to give him one. We're gonna give him one, right,
that's not just like Ednihow And then you're gonna say,
don't forget we a jersey on as we speak. That's fine.
I understand when you work for the Home Network or whatever.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Steve the Segers at the anchor desk, he keep us
updated throughout the program. Elijah is our social media guru.
That's right, Elijah.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
He will does a.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Great job on social media and of course on the
ones and twos.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Why your bug? And huh, all right, hey, let's get here.
I want to get right into it. Let's get to it.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
And uh, you know, we saw two unbelievable games in
the NBA. I mean there was talk about NBC used
to have a slogan must see TV, like on Thursday night.
Last night was must sy TV, no if ads or buds.
But the endings of the game made you think one
of two things. Your thought was, damn, I hate analytics. Correct,
(05:40):
My thought was, damn, that's some terrible coaching. How are
these guys picking up a check as NBA coaches because
they mishandled the game.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
I'm gonna let you go first.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
You thought the analytics robbed us.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Okay, so here's my thing on this. Analytics are supposed
to be used in cohoots with other things. Right, all right,
we're gonna take these numbers, We're gonna take these stats.
We're gonna take this data. We're gonna put it together.
Oh it makes sense when you shoot these three from
the corner, or it makes sense if we let this
guy go to the hole because he's done. Oh, it
makes sense that we file this person and you name
(06:21):
the sport. Oh, it makes sense if you swing a
bat and we did this, we get home runs, and
why chance and try to get a double when you
can get a home run, because a home run can
be worth more than a double. I get that, that's
absolutely a part of it. However, you look bad when
it becomes the entirety of what you're doing. And we
have seen that from sport to sport, where that becomes
exactly what a league is doing or a particular team
(06:44):
is doing. So I use baseball. You love baseball MLB, bro, Well,
let's talk about a baseball right. It was when guys
were only swinging for home runs. Whatever happened to just
getting a single, whatever happened to get double, whatever happened
going for steals. What doesn't make sense if you get
out is not worth it if you get that, and
baseball became a little boring and esthetically pleasing to the eye,
to the fans of viewership. Go back to the Celtics
last night is where I want to start. There's no
(07:06):
way you can beat up and dominating that game where
Mew and I are sitting here watching it, and what
did you say while watching it them having about a
fifteen to sixteen point lead.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
I said it.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
I said, it makes no sense that they keep shooting
threes with the big lead, because if you don't make them,
what happens is you give the other team a chance
to get back into the game.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
And guess what they did.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
They gave the team a chance to get back in
the game because there was a point where they were
up twenty, up twenty, that was a high water mark. Yes,
then the high water was supposed to be it. We
were supposed to drown the Knicks, but they didn't. Then
they shot ten straight threes and missed all of them.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
And what happens. The Knicks get life. What happened? They
have the clutch player of the year and Jalen Brunson.
What happens.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
They start to move the ball, getting buckets, they getting momentum,
they get injury energy, and they start to believe they
can win this game. And what was disappointing was the
fact that they analytically, this is what we've done all year.
We're the most shooting you know, we shoot more threes
than any other team in the history of the NBA.
We shoot, we should we shoot. Don't change who we are. No,
that's exactly what the postseason is. The postseason is about
(08:16):
the A word adjustments. It's okay to say, all right,
this is who we are as a whole collectively, but
for right now, this next three minute period, we're gonna
do this. Hey, you know what, I'm starting to notice
they're letting us blah blah blah. Why don't we do this?
Why don't we get to the whole? Jalen Brown, who
is too good rob and Finals MVP. He's too good
(08:38):
to go one of ten from three and that be
the main focal point of his game. He's got a
great mid range game. He's strong, he can get to
the hole. He said, maybe some truth to shooting too
many threes today. Goes on to say, can't just fire
up threes when other team has the momentum and we
can get to the paint, we can get to the
(08:59):
free line. So to me, they got locked into with
this is who we are. Analytics say we're the best
team ever. They're gonna fall. Eventually, They're gonna fall. Eventually.
Shoot or shoot, shoot or shoot, and I thought that
was a bad one. So I'll just stop there with
this with the Celtics because on the the other game,
the thunder theirs was simply, well it makes sense, couse,
we're up three or up four if you file and
(09:20):
then they can only make one or two and then
if we come down, Well, you shot yourself in the
foot when you started the file two prematurely.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
The analytics say this.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
The analytics say, file, how about you just play the
game out, play the game out, and no overs start
freaking out and now they're at the game. Well, we
shouldn't have filed too early. Well we didn't execute it right.
Well we were trying to do it, but we didn't
do it right. Just play the game. I think analytics
shot both of those teams who were up big in
the foot, specifically in no second halves.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
And that leads to your point I believe, which is
it wasn't just analytics, it was just bad coaching. Like seriously,
you talked about the Celtics. Not only did they shoot
ten straight threes in the third period, nineteen of their
twenty shots were threes. That's just nineteen of their twenty.
(10:08):
It doesn't even make sense. You have a lead, especially
when they're not falling time out. Let's make a play. Hey,
get in the block. We're gonna go take the ball
to the hole. Here's a play. Let's stop the bleeding,
Let's get a bucket, Let's get a couple of free throws.
That's where coaching comes in, the idea, this is who
we are. I agree, that's the lamest thing I've ever heard.
(10:29):
It's just like a bad picture in the postseason. Who's
blown leads and he's been your closer all year. He
doesn't have it right now, Okay, we're gonna go We're
gonna go back to him. No, we've used him all
right now he's not picture like he was earlier, and
you're gonna put out, you know, like have him go
to the to the come out and put gasoline on
(10:49):
the fire, like, no, go.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Get somebody else.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
It's clear he doesn't have it, and you have to
make adjustments in situation. We talked about that with JJ
Reddick and the Lakers. You have to make man, what
we're getting killed in the paint right uh, And there's
nobody to stop, and we're just gonna keep doing the
same thing. That we we're gonna jack.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Say, Hayes, can I get five minutes? Can you? Can
you get one stop? Can you can?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
We?
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Can we stop like something in the paint. Can you
do something?
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Just give me one block to blow something, to trigger something,
whatever it is.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
And then hacker Rudy. He could have hacked the Rudy.
He could have hacked Rudy Gobert make Bert was unstoppable.
And they did nothing.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
They sat there and watched Rudy Gobert rewrite the record
books in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Stop disrespecting him, Rudy abdul Jabbar exactly.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
And and then you know, I saw a headline for
the Thunders. Coach was saying Marks Mark's dang fault as
for his name, Mark, that Mark's.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Dang's dang fault. And it was this was coaching. And
here's the thing. None of it made sense. This people
have done this.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
I understand the fouling people, so that you're okay, But
the only problem here is okay, see had the Nuggets
down by three, no timeouts, right, no joker on the.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Floor, nope, trying to get back in the game, and
they fouled immediately, which makes no sense.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Okay, and then what does that do stop the clock
allow him to get back in the game, which is crazy.
I didn't understand the fouling right away and allowing time
to be left crust. And the worst part is instead
of fouling, the worst that could happen if say they
(12:42):
go down or whatever and you you know, and they
and they make a shot, is that they tie the
game and you go to overtime. You know, you don't lose.
There's no way you can. Unless you're fouling him when
he's shooting a three pointer. You're not going to lose
the game. And that's what you have to look at. Terrible, terrible,
terrible coaching in both situations to me, and I think
(13:04):
it was that to me, that cost both of these
teams games that they should have won. And and Vegas,
I mean, I don't think Vegas lost that much money.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
They did.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
The odds were high for those two teams to win,
but I don't think many people put money on them.
They really might have been a handful of people who
just threw it clew a couple of shekels down. But
you know what I mean, nobody was expecting this, And
and for the for the Nuggets to go in there
and win Game one, that you might look back and
if the Nuggets win that series, you will never forget
(13:36):
that game because one they never.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Nuggets are not going to go out without a fight,
no and lose, They're not going out without a fight,
So meaning you never know that that one game could
be huge. Last point, real quick for me, and I
think in essence we're saying the same thing. It's bad
coaching that you got stuck to the analytics of it all.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
This is how it has to be.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
And I also last point for me was that aesthetically too,
just as a fan of hoops watching the Celtics.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Chuck three, Chuck Tree, chuck three, Chuy.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Miss Forgia, the miss forty five for they missed forty
three or forty five three. This is the most fever
in a playoff game, third most in any game playoff, preseason,
regular season, picked the season.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
That's out ranging.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
So for me just aesthetically as well as a fan
of the game, it was boring and bad to watch
watching bad basketball, watching some of the best players in
Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown just simply chuck up threes
as if they don't have handles, as if they don't
have mid range, as if they can't post up Jalen
Brunts and some other smaller guards and Josh Hart and
(14:37):
you know, and get some buckets. As if al Horfer
is not out there, you can't draw a pick and
switch and put him on the block. That was so
disappointing just as a fan of the game as well
sthetically watching.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
All right, where are you? What side are you on?
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. What did analytics
do do wing the Celtics and Okase or was it
just bad playing bad coaching? Kelvin thinks the analytics did it,
and I get the aesthetics of the game. I agree
with you there, but last night bad coaching was front
(15:09):
and center and cost two teams two huge losses at
home in games they clearly both should have won.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
It is the Odd.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
Couple on a trash Talking Tuesday, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington
right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Stick and stay. Unless you can't play basketball in the
US of It.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Did you see Diana Ross at the met Gala her
eighteen foot train on Address My Goodness? Fox Sports Radio?
See I couple, Rob and Kelvin on a trash Talking Tuesday,
Looking forward to what you guys get coming up in
about an hour and twenty minutes or so. Right now,
we're having a conversation about analytics, coaching. We're ruining the
game for the Cell and the Thunder last night eight
(16:01):
seven seven noted out on Fox who we got right?
Speaker 4 (16:05):
Let's go with Alex in Phoenix. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Alex?
Speaker 3 (16:11):
What's up? Guys?
Speaker 7 (16:12):
Yeah, you know, I think analytics for the Celtics and
coaching for.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
The Thunder.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
With with with what the Celtics did, that's like the
culmination of everything that Daryl Morey.
Speaker 7 (16:27):
Started fifteen years ago with threes are more important than youth.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Like the worst thing to.
Speaker 8 (16:31):
Happened to the NBA with everybody look at Steph Curry
and say, okay, let's just and that's.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
One of the worst thing that could happen was the Celtics.
Speaker 7 (16:38):
Winning the championship like that, yep, and.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
That darn Caruso for not for foiling right away.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Yeah, that was weird, you know.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
And Aaron Gordon like, would you live with that three one.
Speaker 8 (16:50):
Hundred times out of one hundred to win or lose
a game?
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Like I don't think.
Speaker 8 (16:54):
I think the fact that he made it just make
it made it look a lot worse than I want.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Yeah, but but but also if they had not an
and obviously Chat missed two free throw, yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Don't want to let let it Chat off the hook, right, But.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
I'm just saying, like, when you're at that point you
could have when you're up three, you don't have to
do that. You can't lose the game even if he
makes that three, you know what I mean, makes a three.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
And some of the files they did, you would think
they were down. They were like hurrying the file. Oh,
you guys are up. You know that right time?
Speaker 4 (17:21):
Is your friend Emmett in Olympia, Washington. You're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Emmett?
Speaker 3 (17:27):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (17:27):
Robin Calvin?
Speaker 2 (17:28):
How are you guys doing? Man?
Speaker 8 (17:30):
Before I get into the call, I just feel like
I have to give a shout out to our guy
Brian though, who everyone in the room has worked with.
He's going through some hell things. I don't know if
you guys saw it on Twitter, but big shout out thoughts,
some prayers that were Brian though.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
I did not, But Brian know because you need to know.
Speaker 8 (17:45):
Yeah, you do need to know.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
We need to know.
Speaker 8 (17:47):
We need Brian No back on the air.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
But my thing, and the one I want.
Speaker 8 (17:50):
To speak on majority here is the Celtics. I mean,
how are you going to be an NBA team? And
I get that the new style is, oh, let's just
shoot the three pointer, let's just ride with it, but
in that third quarter, if it not work at all,
I mean I think that was a lot of the
reason why they lost a game. And yeah, if the
Thunder was just fouling in that situation, was absolutely horrible.
But I think the Celtics are going to be more
(18:11):
fine than the Thunder. I just don't trust the Nakes
for whatever reason. I mean, the way that that Pisson
series won, they shouldn't have won that game six. I
mean that should have been a Game seven. I just
don't buy into them at all. And I think that
the Celtics, I mean, they have that championship DNA, one
of the most deepest teams in the NBA, and I
know they'll be able to adjust from this. I mean
how It's like Jalen Brown, he seemed kind of pissed
in the press conference about it.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Was you heard I read his quotes and then thank
you for the call. I read his quotes. He admitted it.
I'm so glad. I'll give them credit.
Speaker 9 (18:38):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
They didn't do though. It's just what we do, so
we'll live and die with it. They admitted it even.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
They should have, though they should like there was no reason,
like at some point it's just not your night from three,
say okay, let's regroup.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Hey, guys, take the ball to the hole.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Call man, let's not let's not just give it all
way and just just start shooting three.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
And this is why Jason Tatum, to me, often doesn't
get some of the love he should because he sometimes
relegates himself to just a three point shooter. And it's like,
Jason Tatum, you're so skilled. Go get a bucket, get
a MINTI get him at rains, Go get a nice
little poster, Go draw some six files in a row
and knocks downs a bunch of free throws. He's too
good to just settle. He's a top five player who
(19:24):
just settled for threes. All night, Carrie and Washington State.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
What's up?
Speaker 7 (19:30):
Gary, Hey, Rob and Kevin. Thank you for loving me
to be on.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
That's all right?
Speaker 7 (19:38):
You know, I noticed that the game is not played from.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
The shoulders up anymore.
Speaker 7 (19:46):
It's played with advtaicism. And they don't have a floor general.
Right back in the day Magic Johnson, they got leave.
He's slowing down, cap getting your spot, were gonna get
were gonna scot right three. He's a great Floyd general.
But these guys are very athletic, but they're not playing
(20:07):
from the shoulders up.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
See I would I actually would disagree. Thank you for
the call, Gary. I think that's the problem. Not playing
with their heart. They're playing with too much head. Will
the number say this and the number say that, and
this is what we do and this is some of
the as opposed to.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Saying, yo, man, bump all this scrap that.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
You know this, because baseball is your jam, sometimes a
manager just has to go you know what. I'm sticking
with this, bro, I'm going to get this. Gotta have
a gut feeling, right.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
Everything can't be just strictly well, number somebody's not pitching well,
doesn't matter what he's what he's done against somebody in
the past.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
You gotta say he's not he hasn't pitched well.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
You gotta fill in this guy who hasn't been in,
this utility player, it's his night.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
You gotta feel in the night.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
I'm gonna start him for some what Really, I just
got a feeling sometimes you got to do that, all right.
We got Epa Salam on the other side. Get ready
to talk to him in just a bit.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin in Washington weekdays at seven
pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
We are joined now by Ephram Salam for NFL Offensive
Line and Fox Sports Radio Weekend hosts. Ephram Salam on
XS A Hoop.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
He's a hoop fan playing basketball in college. Ephrom, come on, man,
you watch those games? Was that bad coaching or analytics?
Because I thought it was some bad coaching last night.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
It's some definitely sketchy coaching. Going on. It's my wife
asks me a question the other day when we were
watching the games, and she said, hey, what's more important
coaching are like the talent of the players, because I
would think she was under the assumption that, like, if
you have like super talented players, then you should always win.
(21:52):
And I said, well, that's fine in the regular season.
Within the playoffs, if you don't have coaching, you can
get exposed. Just ask JJ Reddick you hello hello, right,
So yeah, it's it's there's some questionable things happening coaching wise,
like if Nicolaoka is out of the game, why on Earth.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Files them to come back in it?
Speaker 3 (22:17):
All the analytics, all the numbers state they are awful
with him off the floor. So what you have to
do is take advantage of their mistake.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Right now, they made a mistake stopping them out.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Yes, yeah, that's exactly right. Crazy, that's my take on it.
I'm like, come on now, now, that's when they when
they found I was like, oh, that's what is happening
right now.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
And we'll go to the other wind we talked about
as well, where I was just so upset with Joe
Mizoula and the idea that this is what we do.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
We never changed we.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Shoots from the twenty shots in the third quarter, where.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
That's literally what is this forty eight three forty.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Five, three forty five record?
Speaker 5 (23:02):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (23:02):
I remember another team that missed like twenty six in
a row and we all just destroyed. Who the Like,
I'm like, bro, you can't. You have to be able
to score another way. You can't be one dimensional. You
can't dunk everything, and you can't shoot a three for everything.
You have to be able to play actual basketball. And
that's my problem with the current state of basketball. It's
(23:25):
like a cheet hole right when you this is this
is a bigger issue. So that whole Houston series, right
when you watched how everybody's talking about how dynamic Jalen
Green is and how good he is and this and that,
But what actually is he as a player. He's very athletic, right,
(23:45):
he can he can do he can jump, he can
do all those things. But he's inconsistent as a player
because what does he actually do If he can't get
to the rim, then what And.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
He doesn't he doesn't know how to play, no doubt,
And that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
That's exactly right. When you skip college. This is some
of the things that that that that will resurface.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
No doubt, Ephraim.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Uh tell me about Birmingham and the uf L, they
were all four and two.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Well, I just I just watched their game against uh Michigan,
I think, and uh who Yeah, it's a mandate for
you guys to mention that, right.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
I just wanted to see what you call because.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
You're that player and you ain't watching no football this
time of the year.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
People need to stop.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I did watch it again Saturday. I watched the game.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
Wasn't it distracting? With all those seats you can see
like it's not distracting.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
The I like competition. I like for so I try
to watch every day. I never know what y'all gonna
ask me.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
So I try to say, well, they're glad you did
you and other people they're glad about that.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
For if you were wondering, say, let me tell you.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
That the NFL can can fix all of that by
making that a legitimate arm of the NFL like the
G League is for.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
But I'm gonna tell you this, Baseball, yes, but the
only thing is you need to move those teams to
minor league cities and New Haven, Connecticut, Albany.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
New York that do you know what, and you would.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
Be able to attract people, but you're not going in Dallas,
Texas to go watch some UFL.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
You're absolutely right, You're you're on and that is the sol.
The salt is to put them in market to where
their value.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Yes, absolutely, there are some couple of little football stories
going around right now. You got Jim Harbaugh talked about
his goal was to get the Chargers to get Justin
Herbert uh to the Hall of Fame, and he said
a part of that is we're gonna need guys on
his level get.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
To the Hall of Fame, not to win a Super Bowl?
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Is that that's what he's Okay, I gotta get we
gotta get Justin Herberts to the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
How about winning the Super Bowl and he'll go, how
about that?
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Well, I think I think that's encompassing in that I think, uh,
if Justin Herbert is playing at a Hall of Fame
level and putting up numbers for the Hall of Fame,
I was surmised that the hardballs is thinking that the
super Bowls would be in told with that.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
He really is.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
That is that where we got to hear the coach
talk about getting an individual player in the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Come on, man, that doesn't.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
But you know, hardball man, you're holding onto that and
you're like the man. The whole story is he woke
up at three o'clock in the morning staring at the
ceiling and was like, I got to get him into
the Hall of Fame. I mean, like, this is not Gospel's.
It might be a nightcare that he was han't that
he moved up from right, you know what I mean.
(27:01):
So he might have been thinking on some therapyl you
know that therapy get into waked up.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
He had a little too much Nike Will.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Maybe he was watching the UFL game and then just
decided that I gotta keep him good because.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
It might go there.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Justin Herbert does have the talent to be that level
of quarterback. Nobody's had more passing yards uh to start
their career uh than he had. I mean, he's a
dynamic talent now getting him help. I do agree with that.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Yeah, but he also hasn't had the best postseasons in
some games.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
No, because his first five years he had a coach
who had no business, No.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Terrible I agree with that terrible Brandon Staley who was
acting like that.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Coaching in NFL.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Man, he we rarely do we all watch a coaching
job and we know in real time all this ain't
gonna work.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
I was like, every year though, the Fannols family just
drugs that thing out his whole contract, and I was like,
it's no way they're going to be able to maximize
this young man's talent with this guy at the helm
who was supposed to be a defensive gur rule, they
couldn't stop.
Speaker 2 (28:06):
No, Well, I think you mentioned it.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
I think this Banos family was like, what were not
about to do is pay him and have to go
get another coach and pay them. Exactly, You're gonna ride
most of this contract out. We're not about to pay
all that right now.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
No, he played the whole thing out. They was like
they didn't even fire them. They were just like, hey, man,
we appreciate good job.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
Right.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Moving on, last thing from uh, who do you expect
to be the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns when
the season starts?
Speaker 3 (28:31):
When the season starts, I would suspect it would be
Kenny Pickett. Uh, but when the season ends, I was
expected to be uh should do or sunders?
Speaker 2 (28:40):
So h Flaco Flacco's not.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
They're going to keep a no no, no, no no no.
If they if those guys come into training Kenny Pickets
been in the league, he can play if they if
they come in to training camp and they're competing, they're
not going to start Joe Flacco over one of these
young guys that they have. If those young guys are
able to step up, if Kenny Picky could put some
something together, then I would surmise you they would want
(29:05):
to go with him over Joe Flacco because Joe Flacco
is a half a year rental or a year rental
at at at the most. So why would you even
go down that He's more like a stop gap or
something happens if they know they have him like they
wish they did last year.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Right, you ain't lying about that. Me and Rob had
mentioned that a few times. All Right, appreciate you, thank
you that stay away with stay away from that. Now
guess what he from? You got all your time today.
We didn't cut out to you at all.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
That I appreciate that. I praised you guys. Will yeah and.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Stop watching UFL. Stop stop for your eyes, man, CHECKO
City on the way. Are you gonna do something you
have to bring up to the UFL. Why are you
doing all?
Speaker 1 (29:45):
I can't believe you like that question. Don't worry about it.
We got something coming up for you too, something that
you watch all the time.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
We already know that happening.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
You never you never miss it? All right, CHECKO City
on the Way. See I Coup Robin Kelvin Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (29:59):

Speaker 1 (30:10):
ROBBZ would have got down to this back in his day.
This got a little little robbzy vibe to it. It's
the otcover Robin Kelvin one trash talking Tuesday, about an
hour away from that right now it is signed for
the play of the day. Second free throw home Groun.
He gwifted it again, rebound down to Christian Brown. You
got a hurry eight seven seconds front court over to Westbrook,
(30:33):
flip side Gordon for the win. Yeah, two point eight
seconds left, coming back the other way.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
Williams from half court taked.
Speaker 9 (30:41):
It no good at the horn, and the Denver Nuggets
shock the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game number one Final Tonight,
one twenty one to one nineteen.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
I will say this, as exciting as that call was,
I need it when he made the.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
Basket to say that they were up, you know, like
he didn't. He didn't give you a score at any
point until the very very end. I think he still
might have been shook it. Do you think so? Dude?
He probably like, how the heck are we got to
win this game?
Speaker 4 (31:11):
But you know, there was only one situation where Russ
Hodges when he called the shot heard around the world. Uh,
and he didn't say the score of the game for
like minutes, you know, and doing it. But the but
then the Dodgers winning the pennant was the story. Like
it didn't matter what the score was in that one.
(31:32):
I think I needed to score.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
That's it, all right? I love that And let him
know then, Rob that was the Tyereck player. Other day,
right there cross air, Gordon hit a big three, by
the way, big shot out there, Gordon. I was reading
the story, you know, Mark Spears wrote a story on
Antscape about it, how he has adopted it, like brought
in his his nephews. His brother passed away in a
car accident a year ago, and how they were The
(31:55):
story was just how he is really taking that road.
The nephews were there last night after he has a
shot there at the podium with him.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
And stuff, and I love that.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
That's what family is supposed me absolutely, And his sister
in law is just singing his praises. How great, and
he's really taking his role to like honor his brother's legacy.
So he's a couple of game winners in the last
ten days, right, I got the dunks in a big shot,
So a big shot out to him.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
The Player of the Day is brought to you by

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Defeat a dude, How you do all right? One in one?
Last night rain out?
Speaker 4 (32:43):
Yeah yeah, the Washington Nationals had a rainout last night
exactly one in one, so I'm now one twenty and
one nineteen coming into tonight. Obviously these were posted before
the game started. Uh so I took the Minnesota Timberwolves
as my best bet minus six and a half. They're
taking on the Golden State Warriors in Minneapolis. Also, I
(33:06):
got the Cleveland Cavaliers minus seven and a half.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
I know they're missing three people, but they're up good fourteen.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Yeah, you know, yeah, like this, Donovan Mitchell was taking
upon himself to like, you know, be the leader, play
a bunch of minutes and go at it.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
He's been looking good thus far, no doubt. So I
have them minus seven and a half. And after the
Yankees plus one and a half against the Padres and
the Bronx. No score, but the Yankees plus one and
a half. King is starting for San Diego. That's why
the Yankees are underdogs in that game. King is putting
there on good all right. So again Yankees plus one
(33:38):
and a half, runs Cavaliers minus seven and a half,
and the Minnesota Timberwolves minus six and a half. And
remember Calvin, what's that. I'm not telling you who to
bet on, I'm telling you who I bet On. I'm
looking forward to this Warriors Timberwolves game. Man, I'm looking
forward to this series period. I just want a four
game sweep, a beatdown.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
That's what I want, Timberwolves beating the Warriors, of course,
just asking me that. Really, you know, most people, even
if they want the other day's man, I want a
great series and go six or seven. But I still
pick Team X whoever in this case for you. But
it's on the way.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
You want to.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Sweet, beat down, beatown, just as I know you've been
doing it. You've been in this business too long. You
can't even where is the fandom. You want to see
a good game and enjoyed great series. No, you know
that can be compelling radio.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
To Rob, I'm good. I want to see a beatdown
when we know it's all over. What what's up? Robb G?
Speaker 10 (34:31):
Well, guys, if this goes the way Rob wants it
to go, then in his last five series victories, Anthony
Edwards will have beaten Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, Luka, Doncic,
Lebron James, and Steph Curry. There's already a ground swell
online of social media calling him the legend killer. Can
you have a nickname like that if you've never made
(34:53):
a final?
Speaker 4 (34:53):
No, it's so premach and so ridiculous. That's what it is.
The fagic fast.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
No, it's because I'll give you one. When Isaiah Thomas
on a championship was about to say take it it,
go ahead and say it.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Oh, you're right, he went through Michael Jordan, a new
shiny toy of the league, smacked out of here, Larry Bird.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
Y'all you have magic. Get out of here, Larry Bird.
Rob g in their prime, magic in their prime. Stop.
So that's why stop crowning people.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
He lost the Magic eighty eight though, But but I
had this smack up George, smack up something. Yeah, that's
what And I was thinking the same thing. Zeke was
able to get to the finals, lost in eighty eight,
then go eighty nine, go in the ninety and win
back to back. No, that's a little different now. Itward's
plenty of time to get this what twenty four whatever
it is.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
That's why when they when they start doing this and
they discount people's careers and what they've done, I just
it drives me crazy.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
It's not that I'm some fanboys like.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Look a look at this like nineteen ten and not
too many you know, guards of the leaders of their team,
not too many guards.
Speaker 10 (36:03):
So that's why I know that maybe this is because
Chris is on the show anymore.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Rest in Peace.
Speaker 10 (36:08):
Russky did something similar twenty ele He ran through Kobe Durant,
Westbrook Harden and that's why that championship.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
That was, that's why that championship is.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
And and he didn't he wasn't like, uh just got
somebody's coketail.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
He just ship every big shot. He was unbelievable that
there is a run, right. I always bring that up.
That was you talk about a run. Dirk show that
was he had six in his head. It was like,
we're not going out like that again. Where Dwayne Wade
just went crazy and he said, he go crazy.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
That's when they gave Dwayne Wade a thousand free throws.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Do you remember that, Well, you gotta go earn him.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
You know who could have used free throws? Rob the
Celtics could have used some free throws. Oh three points
shooting selves. How about you turn you buy your head
and run to the basket. Jalen Brown, Jason Tatum. That's
why Jason Tatum does not get the love he deserves,
rob G because Ann Edwards would have went to the whole.
Mind you, he led the league in three point attempts,
(37:06):
but he still would have went to the hole. Try
to draw five, Try to dunk on somebody mid range.
Some people, Jason Tatum was a robot. What we do
is shoot threes, Yes, sir, coach Joe Mozilla, I will
shoot more threes, but you're up, sweaty, that's okay.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Shoot the three. You're only a five shooter.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
Three.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
They sound like the Jetsons or something. What was the name?
I forgot?
Speaker 3 (37:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (37:30):
What was the house? The Mad Thing? Yeah, she was
a female, no doubt. Jayceina Tsey
