Speaker 1 (01:57):
So well you got all of that. A little shekel city.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Our number toy two, Roy Hibbert, the former NBA All
Star Center.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yes, he used to play for the Pacers. We'll talk
with him.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
One's gotta go, and then an hour number three, it's
the hot seat.

And guess what what's that Shan from sacrametto.

Speaker 2 (02:22):

you go, and last call. So that and much more. Befirst,
let me welcome in my partner. He is not season
what I man, Wow, we got a bunch of U.
Do NBA teams want to keep leads? Do they want
to win these games?

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Rob?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
My goodness, unbelievable meltdowns? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
And here's the thing that I still and I'm not
a basketball coach, okay, never never proved that a like
pretending to be one. Or I know, nobody practices getting
the ball and bounds on pressure at the end of game,
like this is melting.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
It happens all the time. Didn't we watch Duke.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah, dude couldn't get the ball in bounds like four times,
Like you can't get.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
The ball in there's no play.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Then look, we're together three two one, tossed the ball
over his head.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I'm gonna run towards it.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Nobody right, you simplified it a little bit, but I
give it you what I'm saying, like, we're together, he's on.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Me three two one a countdown and then I'm gonna
run out and you throw.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
The ball over his head and run down saying yeah,
every play is supposed to have a safety bound. Come on, man,
I mean this is the original option. But then it
worst comes the worst.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
This guy we saw, We saw Duke, we saw last night.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
We were so confused.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
The past went uh the past went to uh Indiana
right to the pacers that we thought that that was.
It was like it looked like a clean right cavaliers.
That's how clean it was. It made no sense. It
wasn't a great steal, it wasn't aim it was and
his numbers.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
It was his number. I thought, I know, I thought
the coach was out there throwing the past. Just ridiculous.
But anyway, uh, we'll do all that.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Let's welcome in the odd coupled crew because we wouldn't
be able to do this Find radio program without him.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
It's just the first day we're all back.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Oh yeah, yes, because Alex here now uh uh, I
don't never, I never know where Alex is, but he's back.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
That's right. So let's welcome in.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Rob g is our producer, Alex is our engineer. Manty
Bolanos is at the anchor desk. She'll keep us updated
throughout the program.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
That's funny.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
And of course who and of course who, and of
course Elijah social media guru. Yes, he is also on
the man on the social media tip does a great job.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
All right, Uh, let's let's start here.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yeah, and Tyrese Halibert and obviously just the unbelievable story
and the big shot and now this year, are you ready? Yes,
with two minutes or less to play, he's ten for eleven.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
That's did you hear what I said? With two minutes
to play? On game winners?

Speaker 5 (05:20):
Right?

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Ten for eleven? Not only that now you need to
make the one last night.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
He made another one the week before, right, the one
his dad ran out on the court and all that.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
So he has two game winners in the last two weeks.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
And the first thing I thought of, I'm gonna be honest,
aside from how in the world did they win that game?
And man, does he have some onions that he's gonna
get fined for because we saw the onion right, he
was carrying onions around him.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
The NBA was not happy with that.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
First your dad and now you got onions, and now
we got an issue.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Yeah, I can deal with the onions, okay, yeah, more
so than those didn't make him cry anything like that.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Those onions, No.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
But my first thought was, Rob g, how many years
has Steph Curry played? Fifteen years in the NBA? Is
it one five fifteen? And Steph Curry doesn't have one
like that in the postseason. Tyrese Halliburn has had two

(06:26):
in the last week. He's at two in the last week.
It's a further indictment on Steph Curry. You can't give
me any excuses. Oh, the timeframe you have just why
is it just in the final fifty seconds?

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Or two minutes or whatever it is.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
We're talking about making a clutch shot in a big spot.
You can't give me a Steph Curry basket like that?
How can you play that long, win as much as
Steph Curry's won, win championships and not be able to

(07:09):
have that shot that people remember you buy. I don't
care what Tyree's Haller Burton does going forward. People remember that,
they will people remember moments and when games end like that.
That's what heightens your awaarability. Does that make sense? And

(07:29):
people knowing like that, that guy, Robert Rory, nobody could
tell you, But nobody could tell you how many times
you made the All Star team?

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Was your starter was on the bench.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
But everybody who watches basketball knows Robert or are you
kidding me? That dude was sensational. You better not leave
him open in a big spot. He'll make your pay.
It is an indictment of Steph Curry, that's all. And
I'm not here to like not talk about Halli Burton

(08:01):
and what he's been able to do. But it's mind
boggling to me that you could play fifteen years, win
four championships, playing a gazillion playoff games, all right, that
was only a handful of years. They didn't make the
playoffs and you don't have a signature moment. How is
that possible? Kelvin Rob You know, I love you like

(08:22):
a play cousin, but.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
This has gone too far.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Steph Curry, Kay, He's sitting up there trying to heal
his hamstring right now, thinking about his team, how they
won for him, how they fought for him, they got
a good first game win in that series, minding his
own business with the Curry family, and you're taking a
shot at him. He is sitting there trying to heal
his hammy and you're taking shots to him. Boy, he's

(08:46):
trying to heal his hammy while you over here getting
eating your ham sandwiches. When does it come a little
bit later later on? Let me say this with cheese.
Steph Curry has four rings. We know that all the MVPs.
Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of all time. I
agree it it's strange that he doesn't have a moment,
but he has these flurry moments. Matter of fact, Alex,
you were here when we discover with them. At any

(09:08):
time he brings up Steph Curry. You know what's coming.
Find on there a wap babba dooo baba wap bamboo.
Please find that it's on there. Mary already has it
for me. That's what I need to hear right now.
But while Alex is getting that because he just got back,
I'll say you can't find it. No, you can find it.
When you find it, let me know so I can
make my point. I want to choose to praise Sareez Halliburton.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
You know why.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
This is the second time that he has made a
game winning play, a game winning shot, and the story
or the headline is something else. He beats Milwaukee's sends
you on his home wins one and his pops ruins
the situation for him.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
So now all we're doing is talking about his pops.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
The next time he hits a game winner, we should
be talking about how good he is. Maybe over they
taught him overrated, maybe he's underrated.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
But then Rob.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
Parker decides to talk about Steph Curry, who he does
this wop bab blu mom blump bom bom what I'm
talking about.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
No, he doesn't.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
He doesn't hit a game winner, but he hits you
with a Florida wap bablah loo baba what ba boom?
That's what he does, doesn't we wanted again Alex walk
baba mom, that's what he does.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
So he doesn't have a three two one game winner.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Little Richard is one of the all time greats and
he had It's like Steph Curry not having any hit records.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Little Richard had hit records.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
Well, he might be in a Guinness book for the
most album sold then and and and Albums of the
Year also known as MVPs and dad gonna.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Fin us not digress. I don't want to lay this
about Steph Urry.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Steph Curry has icy hot on his hamstring right now.
This is about Tyre's Halliburton. His daddy stole his spotlight.
Rob Parker's trying to steal his spotlight. Talking about Steph Curry,
you mentioned ten of eleven with nine seconds left or
under whatever it is, sexual minute, two minutes, two minutes.
He was fourteen most overrated. They voted him he is

(11:02):
on a good air.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Get to that. We are gonna get that. He's on
a terror for another topic that we'll talk about.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
And lastly, I say it again, they say the regular season,
you become an All Star you play good, that's where
you make your name. The playoffs is where you make
your fame, and he's been doing just that. So it
shout out to him. Game winners, got his team up
to and let that boy shine and stop bringing up
Steph Curry. Got all these championships, all these MVPs, and

(11:32):
you worried about that.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
I just can't believe it. Every time and time again,
it is unbelievable. Steph Curry. The well is dry. There's
nothing there, nothing for those Steph Curry fans to hold
on to and say, oh yeah, I remember when I
got goosebumps because Steph did this or knocked down that shot,
or knocked down this or that.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Nothing zero not all.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is a telephone
number eight seven seven.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Nine nine six sixty three sixty nine, bab Lon. That's
what he does.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Rob Flurry's the Steph Curry flurry where he buries your team.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
I told you about that. You got me over here
acting like I'm a Warrior fan.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. This is real, simple,
is it? Yes? Is this an indictment on Steph Curry
and this idea that he's the Greatest Shooter. When here's
a guy who are people people think is overrated and
he has two game winners in the postseason in one week.

(12:45):
Steph Curry's played fifteen years and has none. It is
The Odd Couple on a Worship Wednesday, Rob Parker, Kelvin
Washington right here.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
On Fox Sports Radio, and you know what to do.
Stick and stay for more of Steph Curris.

(13:40):
search Odd Couple wherever you get your podcasts, and you're
gonna find today's show and a best version post it
win Rob, that's right right after we get off the air,
all right, told him I love him like a play cousin,
but sometimes Rob makes me want to jump over this
table like you did the other day. Tyres Halliburton, shine
in hitting game winners. I'm still living and you are

(14:03):
living by the way. I can't express you how many
dms and texts I got? What is wrong with Joko?

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Did he really think? Is he okay? And I got
a couple of people mad at me? Why why didn't
you help him? Why you say okay?

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Right on the side of him is Sam Iowa Sam
on the other usuized you can see him on camera,
so and god Sam was, yeah, I got cut piece
because of me out because you over here doing stuff
sold you.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
We were lucky because Sam is like a piece of
the furniture. So that it was just like I was
leaning on a he'sa somewhere, right, I think he's under
the table here somewhere.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
But anyway, Uh, Steph Curry is an indictment on him
that he's played so long, had this historic career and
has no game winners or at Tyre's Halliburton five six
years in league, already has a couple. Rob says, yes,
I say, it ain't nothing to do with Steph. This
is Tyree's his moment. Let him have his moment. Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox Who we got.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
All right, Marty and Kentucky. You're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Marty?

Speaker 5 (14:52):
What's up? Rob? What's vin?

Speaker 3 (14:54):
Yo?

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Yo?

Speaker 5 (14:56):
Hey, I'm going I had to cover Rivers heres.

Speaker 6 (14:58):
He really liked Rob.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Rob.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
Rob's bas is his hero. He's always got a rip.
So sometimes I just you know, just to you know,
Rob's got to have somebody that likes him, So I
had to cover his ears.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yes, is my man. You don't know I bought Rivers first. Yeah,
I was made aware of that. That was very nice
of you.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
Ro.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Just get ready to give me someone win these bets.

Speaker 6 (15:21):
But if he knew you were talking about just like Curry, man,
I just don't you know, the kids have short memory.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
I don't know what he thinks about.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
He wouldn't recover. He would be he thought them Jordan's
and the mud.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
Yeah. Rob, you know, I love you, but I know
you're a baseball guy, so I want to ask you something,
What do you think about Mariano Rivera? Do you think
he was worthy of all his accolades and his inducting inducting.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Into you got in unanimously absolutely.

Speaker 6 (15:53):
Okay, Well he you.

Speaker 7 (15:54):
Know he has, he's got no he's known for say right.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
Yes, Curry's known for flurry.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
That's that's a cop out. That's a cop out from Marty. Marty.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
You're a basketball player, Okay, Marty, you play basketball. Stop
it stop getting no, no, no, no, here's my thing, Marty.
If he's known for fleur reason he never took a
shot at the end of the game because he knows
that's not in his realm, and he was zero for one,
you would have an argument. But when you take no,
when you take fourteen of them and you miss him all,

(16:34):
that's when there's an indictment. That's a big enough sample
size to say that you don't make big shots. And
for halla Burton to make two of those shots in
one week tells you that it's doable because he was
voted the most overrated player in the NBA and he's
making game winning shots. So you can defend Curry all

(16:56):
you want, but you know, deep down, when you're right,
and you talked about it. Moments called for you to
be great, in certain moments where people go, man, Michael
Jordan made that shot over Craig Elo. Man, Michael Jordan
made that shot at North Carolina helped them win the championship.
You remember those. I didn't say Michael made every shot,

(17:16):
but you remember those. That's all I'm talking about. I
didn't say he's a bumbo, he can't play, he's not clutch.
I told you O'Neil created a new thing.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
I agree with you. You know I said it.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
There's thirty people I take over Steph to take a
last second shot.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
O'Neil in Memphis, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, O'Neil?

Speaker 6 (17:37):
What's going on?

Speaker 7 (17:38):
Feelings?

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Man, we're doing great? Or you gotta slept like a
baby last night.

Speaker 7 (17:43):
Hey, hey, hey, listen, listen. I ain't no Curry fan
or nothing. You know, he is a great front runner.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
If you'll say, yeah, when they're up by ten and man,
the flurries come as soon as they're up by double digits,
hit them.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Steph.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
W was he the first half of that game of
Game seven when he had three points and was one
for seven from three point range.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Do you remember that again in Game seven?

Speaker 7 (18:06):
Yeah, for sure, for sure. Nowhere to be found to
that fourth quarter. So, but he does have a big shot.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
Would you say that the shot in the Olympics.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Why did you get him started?

Speaker 2 (18:18):
One of those one of those shots was considered a
clutch shot, not by not rob Apedia, but by the
definition of the NBA.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Those other flurry shots were not considered clutch shot. This
is what this is why I keep going, thank you
for the call. This is what I keep telling you.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
He is not your traditional give the ball to mic
with two seconds, let Michael hang in the air and
shoot it, or Kobe or Lebron because he's but the
idea that he hasn't blown the team's back out, or
he hasn't finished the team or put their foot on
the throat.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
That's what I had to conclude. I was you until
I had to conclude, Oh, this is what he did.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
The Steph Curry flurry that buries you. I told you
I need the coiner. Rob g put that on the
T shirt. BBQ Jean in Memphis. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, he ain't fed excellent this barbecue.

Speaker 6 (19:09):
Yes, right, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (19:11):
Man? It is between Jean barbecue Jean Man?

Speaker 6 (19:13):
What up?

Speaker 1 (19:14):
What else? I can't wait till I come to Bedtown.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Like I always say, Man, you got the chill, Man,
I got the chill. Rob, Listen, listen, this is this
is this, This is real deal right here, Steph. Steph
is one of the greatest shooters we have ever seen. Man,
he makes big shots. He had made game wins.

Speaker 6 (19:34):
But hey, he's a champion and he's not afraid to
make take this shot. Rob.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
You gotta give him a little respect, man, all respect
on that guy.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
All I'm saying is you got to make something. I
just say, you gotta make all fourteen. Come on, it's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
Yeah, I did it. You can play. You could play.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Fifteen years, fifteen years and not make one of those
that that's incredible to me.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
You know you just you just now, Drayvon Greens, I
guarantee we win the championship now even did it.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Now they're gonna win, and Steph gonna hit it.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
W hit a couple of those game winner Because you're
saying on this right now, I freaking love that, you
know what.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
I've never hated Little Richard more than I do right now.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
We got one week till stuff comes back, and I
hope he has a flurry where he hits fourteen straight,
three of them.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Were you feel like I would do if Little Richard
was in the studio right now on him.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
No, no, no, I would.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
I would put water on that perm That's what I was,
And he would go, you're gonna have nightmare of that song. Now,
you can't mess with a man perm. Now come on, now,
you know good? You shriveling on that right, he'll be screaming.
You have him looking like half the time we saw
Luthor where it never really curled the way it was

(20:44):
supposed to.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Don't do that all.

Speaker 4 (20:45):

Speaker 1 (21:23):
How are you?

Speaker 6 (21:24):
I am good, man? I am good.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
Can't complain though, I want to know you're about to
complain now, No, no, no, I want to I want
to know why these teams what happens at the end
of game? Seriously, where coaches players that they're they're un
they're surprised that they're being pressured on the inbounds laying games,
turn the ball over, bad inbounds passes, melt.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
Down, terrible fouls, Just like, what what is going on?

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Why?

Speaker 1 (21:51):
Why can't why can't they?

What?

Speaker 1 (21:54):

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Well?

Speaker 6 (21:57):
You gotta be more specific. Are you talking about the
Indiana game?

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Yeah? Well, I mean did you see that they threw
to Judah?

Speaker 6 (22:05):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
You have, guys, and this is this is.

Speaker 6 (22:09):
Why depth is so important. But you have guys in
positions that they regularly wouldn't be in throughout the course
of the seasons. Like, if you watch the Indiana game,
Donovan Mitchell had ninety nine percent of the ball handler responsibilities.
This is why Darius Garden is so important. This is
why somebody like Evan Mobley is so important because he
can actually initiate the offense. But when you have two

(22:32):
of those guys out along with DeAndre Hunter, now everything
goes to Donovan Mitchell and.

Speaker 7 (22:38):
He was gassed.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
Oh yeah, he was cast Oh yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
So you got guys in the game. You got Isaac
Gricorro in the game. You got guys like Sam Merrill.
You have guys like Dean Wade. You have guys like
Matt Shrews. You have guys like Jared Allen. You know what,
None of those guys do handle the basketball. None of
them do. So you have guys in positions that they're
ordinarily not.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
They can't make an inbounds pass. They can't make they can't.
I hear you, no, seriously, I hear it, like I'm not.
I'm not asking you to dribble the ball between your
legs and run the offense, not seriously to inbound the ball,
Like seriously, you playing basketball your whole life.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
You can't inbound the basketball you're.

Speaker 6 (23:19):
Throwing You know what, Rob, I will you know what, Rob,
I will honestly say that is one of the most
under talked about and undervalued positions to be in the
trigger man.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
It is because we saw that in the college Duke
Duke couldn't put the ball in four times. For how
you're playing major college basketball. You're at Duke University and
you can't mbound the ball at winning time.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
I'm shocked.

Speaker 6 (23:46):
But you know what, Rob, it doesn't stop at the
college level. That's the thing about it. You see it
all the time in the NBA. Guy turn the ball over,
Guy's throwing the ball away.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
God getting five second calls.

Speaker 6 (23:57):
It's a very very important role to be in. That's
not discussed enough.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
That's why teams have a certain guy or two they want.
They always need Brown in the ball. But to Robs
point eighty, I want to kind of go over a
couple of things. Right now, we got Boston Kicks playing
a game where Boston shot forty five threes. Listen, we
know it's a different age. We know the three ball
is worth more than the two, but that was ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Eighty. I thought it was bad aesthetical exactly.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
It was terrible and where were the adjustments? Coaches don't
make adjustments. Am I missing something?

Speaker 8 (24:30):
No?

Speaker 6 (24:31):
But you know this goes back. This reminds me of
limberty Houston Rockets when they missed like seven in a row,
seven threes in a row. And you know what bothered
I tell you what bothered me about this and what
bothered me about that? Then it's not the fact that
you missed the shots. It's the fact that there is
no plan B. Right, That's what I don't like. There

(24:52):
is no plan B. Like I understand. This is who
you are, is the Boston Celtics. Right esthetically speaking, it
is not please me. When it's going in, it looks awesome.
But when it's not going in, oh my goodness, gracious,
I don't care if your NBA champions or not. It
looks awful. And it's basically giving the ball to one guy,
allowing that guy to go one on one between his legs,

(25:14):
behind the back, step back three. But it just looks
awful an tonys awful.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
In that third quarter where they let the Knicks get
back in nineteen of their twenty shots, crazy.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
What three pointers? Not once did they draw up the
play to go in the paid post up.

Speaker 6 (25:31):
I'm gonna tell you what's wild about that. I'm gonna
tell you what's wild about that is when you look
at the way that the boss is and this is
to me, like we can talk about that, but on
the flip side of it, it also speaks to how
dangerous they are. They missed forty five threes and they
probably on the level ten. They probably played a five, right,
and they were still up twenty No, no, right, we
said that about that, and we said yes.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
We said like, like, if you're the Knicks, you can't
be that happy because you barely want an overtime.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
And they missed forty five to three. Just think about that, right,
They missed.

Speaker 6 (26:02):
Forty five threes, didn't play well, still had a twenty
point lead, and you can see in today's game off
the jump they made it a point to play in
the paint. Haylen Brown has posted up two or three
times already. But they're not simply settling for threes.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
I want to I want to go to Denver and
just uh that team and uh and the joker of
the performance he put on and and again the end
of the game where okase he's playing that foul game,
and it's dangerous if guys don't make their free throws.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
But even the one to file so quickly.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
And also they by calling a time out, they allowed
the joker to get back in. Like what I just again,
I thought it was terrible coaching at the end, despite
the misfree throws, because obviously if you make the free throw.

Speaker 6 (26:51):
But here's the thing, here's the thing. If Ted Holmer
makes his free throws eight free throw shooter in the postseason,
we're not having this comment.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
I get it.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
I get that we're not talking about it. Like I'm
always in favor of fouling. Being up three, I thought
what Alice Caruso did is he fouled too soon.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Oh yeah, he knows that.

Speaker 6 (27:10):
Like knowing knowing, Like there are different scenarios. Failing at
half court, like when the ball's inbounded half court is
completely different than foiling full courts. When the ball's inbounded
half court, a guy can pull up at any time,
especially as skilled as guys are in today's NBA, with
full cord when that ball comes in bounds. We saw
the Detroit Pistons do this to the New York Knicks.

(27:30):
You can allow four five, six, seven seconds to go
up the cut before you actually need to foul. So
there was no reason for Alice Caruso once that ball
was inbounded to foul that quickly. But with all that
being said, with all that being said, if chet Homer
and misses two free throws, if he makes two free throws,
we're not having this. If he makes one free throw,

(27:52):
it changes everything.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
But here's the only thing is, you know this, as
long as we've watched the NBA guys miss free throws
in the you know, like, in no situation, Kawhi Leonard,
if he makes that free throw against the.

Speaker 6 (28:04):
Heat Miami, You're right, that would have given.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Him a four point lead and Ray Allen's three point
it wouldn't have mattered.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
I mean, that's how close we've seen games where people
miss free throws.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
That's why it's dangerous.

Speaker 6 (28:17):
But the situations matter because this is what I mean.
Even if said Homeren splits those free throws, right, if
he misses the first one and makes the second one,
now it's a two point game. You get an opportunity
to go back and set a defense. I'm not even
saying that he has to say that he has to
make both. I'm saying, even if he split, the fact
that he missed both free throws now make them up one,

(28:41):
which forces him to have to overreact to Russell Westbrooks
drive a penetration and lead Aaron Gordon open on that
above the break. Three. Yes, so I'm not tripping. I
get exactly what you're saying. But even if he was
to make one of them, that could potentially change that outcome.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Yeah, you want it back. But they didn't make him.
They still handle that. They handled that fly situation terribly.
One more from me Ad, I want to go to
the Warriors and Timberwolves. Warriors were able to get a
win where most of the game's Steph is out. Anthony
Edwards has a much better second half, bad first half.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
What do you make of that game?

Speaker 4 (29:15):
And how and where did Buddy Thompson as in Klay
Thompson reincarnated come from?

Speaker 6 (29:20):
Well, this is what I'll say about the second round
as a whole. Did you guys notice that all the
teams who lost in the second round were all the teams.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Who had the most arrested Yeah, nope, that's true. That's true.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
We saw that a couple of years ago in baseball
remember when they did the new format and all the
one seeds all got knocked out.

Speaker 6 (29:41):
Because there's a rhythm that you love to stay in
as a player. And I heard Stamman Gundy talk about
it last night during the game. You're a custam playing
every other day. So you look at all these teams
that have played every other day, played six games and
seven games, and now they're going on a row and
they're winning. But when they're going on the road, they're

(30:03):
playing against the team that has been idle that. I mean,
you know the what today's NBA works. Guys ain't practicing,
You ain't getting up and down like that, and you
can't simulate playoff basketball. So you saw this with Cleveland,
you saw this with Oklahoma City, you saw this with Boston,
and you also saw it with Minnesota. Minnesota looked they
scored thirty one points in the first half yesterday, So

(30:25):
it becomes a rest verse rhythm conversation. And what I
saw from Minnesota yesterday, they did not have any rhythm,
and they found their rhythm a little bit in the
second half, and I think that will now carry over
for them moving forward. I expect them to win that series.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
The first half looked like a Kelvin d or his
prom You know what I mean, no rhythm at.

Speaker 8 (30:42):
All out you said, Well, I I was killing them
with my cane the top at ay and a cane
once you did in Detroit with and a stretch hummer.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
That's how you know what Era was. And a stretch.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
Hummertigators at Gator.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
I couldn't afford Gator. I would have all he We
appreciate you, my man, Thank you for sure.

Speaker 6 (31:05):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Let me disrespecting my two step, the meanest two step
around Rob Parker. Hey, we got Shekel City on the way.
See how Rob did it? Is The Hot Couple of
Rob Parker Couvin Washington. Oh boy, oh boy, get the
music radio Fox Sports Radio. You know who didn't do it?

Speaker 1 (31:21):

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the

Speaker 1 (31:37):

Speaker 4 (31:38):
The Hot Couple Robin Kelvin on a worship Wednesday, Thank
you for hanging out with you boys, So up to
Antonio Daniels we just had him moments ago, all right,
and it's time now for shekel City go two.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
Shekels up in my mouth the whole base for Rob
Parker's dix against the spread.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
How did you do all right last night? One and two,
one twenty one and one twenty one, so I at
least at five hundred. Listen, you had a run. Remember
I was in a big hole, right Yeah, now you're back,
here we go. I took a couple of the underdogs

(32:26):
with the big point spreads, best bet. We got the
Denver Nuggets plus ten and a half tonight in Okay.
See they lose, but I got ten and a half. Yep,
even after that big comeback coming back. The Knicks with
the big win, yeah, plus ten and a half.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
I took them as well. Yeah like that. I got
them losing, but not by ten and a half. I
think they'll lose tonight, but I like the obviously that
Boston's gonna win by minimum fifteen. I got plus ten
and a half.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
And then I got the Kansas City Royals minus one
and a half runs.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
They are hosting the Chicago White Sox.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
So again Kansas City minus one and a half fronts
the Knicks plus ten and a half.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
And Denver plus ten and a half. I remember, Calvin,
I'm not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling
you who I better. I was wrong. Good stuff there. Yeah,
this will be a good one to see if got
one thing. I can only tell you.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
Thirty four is a score, oh only seven. Boston for
sure has as they shoot the three. As I was
about to say, but they've been taking a lot of
mid rangers post up. They have been mixing it up
for sure, because again they they knew they had that
game and they blew it with all those dag on threes.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
So as they've just shot three in a row and
then make it four and another man, literally they just
shot four in a row.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
That's funny. But they're up ten. They made it, so
it should be a good one. But I just I
think I'm higher up on the responding. I think they win,
but the Knicks will just keep them in. All they
gotta do is to me win by a lose by ten.
I'm a winner, yeah, which is so funny because you're
a winner. But they're mad they lost and the series
is now tired. Still has made a trade. We kind

(34:09):
of knew something was gonna be coming once they got
was talking about it too, right, Jerry Jones. Yeah, he
kept saying that something something's coming. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
mean they and we knew something was gonna happen. We
knew that George Pickens was kind of having some issues
kind of on the outstair, especially once they got DK.
Piggins is really good, but it's also you know, kind
of volatile and a little you know, he has the

(34:29):
attitudes of being getting the ball and he kind of
can't necessarily trust him.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
But that's a to me. I'm looking at it as
still a bit confused on what.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Exactly the Steelers are doing right now, just in a
sense of you get rid of a guy who is
obviously offensively talented. We know that, and I understand he
again kind of volid at times, but he had been
there one to you bring in DK, but you don't
have a quarterback as of now as we know it
should be could be Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Will have to wait and see. They say that it's
a deal in place, yes.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
But then they just come out said it's more difficult
to try to understand.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
AI the minority owner just came out and said, but
they said that.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
I'm just talking about the people said it's already a
deal in place, he just has to say yes or no. Well, oh,
I don't disagree with that. I'm sure it's been This
is what we want, this is their parameters, this is
what we can do.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
That's what I'm saying. You want to do it right.
It's not like whether or not they're going to come
to terms.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
Oh no, no, no, I strongly yeah, I absolutely believe
they It's a matter of is he going to play
or not. I don't think it's a money or a
positioning or is he going to start or not. Absolutely
don't think that. But again, they're just in a position
where they have to wait and now. But I was thinking,
like I didn't necessarily see why in the short term

(35:41):
if you're get Aaron Rodgers. We all agree this is
a short term play, right, He's literally forty one year
or two max. So why get rid of talent when
and you would think you'd want to accumulate as much
talent as possible. And Najie Harris has gone, you're running
back who nobody's saying he was Derrick Henry, but he's gone.
Pickens is gone. You know you got some you're struggling offensively,

(36:03):
and you have been. They struggled poorly the last six
seven weeks of the season, even with Russell Wilson, who
would looked good the first four or five.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
So to me, I'm like, I don't know. I just
don't know what they're doing.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
Offense has been their issue now, rob for the last
six seven years really ever since the last little bit
of juice. We've been ropping the defense last year and
then all of a sudden, the thing you hang your
hat on is the defense that started to let you
down a little bit.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
So I just don't get the game play.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
Usually you see something coming, even rebuilds, right, you see
people getting all right. We can't say it publicly, but
we on a rebuild, you start to see all right,
I see what they're doing, and I just have no idea.
This one of the few times with the Steeler I
just don't know what they're doing. And it's just gonna
be interesting again. They have all the chips on on
Aaron Rodgers, and they they have made it one thing,

(36:48):
they have laid it out there. It's like like I said,
a girl, you have made no calms. I want you
full stop. Whatever you want, I keep telling you dinner
every night, they take.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
You outappy with the people that they had.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
And they also thought, uh, they're hoping to win a
playoff game and they're hoping that.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
No, no, no, win a super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
No.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
I'm just saying that that's the minimum of what they
need because they haven't won it almost was it nine
years years.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
That's a long time.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
It's what I'm saying. I'm not saying that that's your
your goal, but that's at least you have to be
able to do that. And that's why they maybe they
traded for Metcalf because they knew that they were going
to eventually move off for I.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
Mean, Metcalf is just I'm not mad at that he
has and they signed them, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
So it looks like they decided that whatever the annex
are or whatever was going on there, they didn't want
anymore of it.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
They didn't want any more pickeures.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
I don't know if they were having PTSD from AB
they were thinking of, oh, shoot Antonio Brown again, but well, yeah,
would they get that guy?

Speaker 1 (37:49):
I don't know. We waiting to see in it, just
like they are
