You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
All right, we're making fun of Rob, Rob G, Rob Parker.
Anybody got an update? Like, where's Waldo? Where's Rob? Meaning
you know he gives us Hi, I am having lunch.
I had a turkey sandwich today with no bread, and
I'm with my mentee, Davonte Jackson say thank you.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Hey, what a wonderful day to go to the ball park.
I am. I am at the ballpark with you? Like,
all right, where we at? Anybody? Look? Let me see
what Rob is. I am with my lady friend call.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
You know what's funny, like when you like, most people
don't post in real time Rob posting, That's what that
makes it best?
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Rob and like and then we've been around on a
million times like when did he even post it?
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Me?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
And Rob will be and I'll be like, yeah, Rob
G is crazy out here. And you know how are
we on the Instagram are running? We just left wing stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's his age.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
And well that's the thing. When old people do get
ahold of something, they get a hold of something. That's
say they do for instance, you know how you search
them my Instagram and click the thing. Yes, it said
Rob Parker. I'm dead serious. It had the little blue
dot meaning he has new posts. It's at thirteen posts.
Oh you know how long you'd have to go to
see thirteen posts?
Speaker 5 (01:40):
For me?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
You know how long you have to go see Robin here?
Shut up? That's the problem.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
I know I need to do more of it, all right,
So well here's that's just let's just update the people
he's got. He's got thirteen posts right now, so four
hours ago, let's go. This is the way to start
all start Derby day. He has a dog, which then
tell us at some point he took the butt off
that's coming him with his buddies four hours ago, two
(02:06):
hours ago with Jazz Chisholm.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
What'd you call him? Mary Matt? What's she called him?
I can't remember, Chop he's listening. Stop y'all, y'all ruining
it for me.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Jazz chis Homie or something earlier today, there was truly
a throwback. It was his ESPN good old days and
it was Jamail Hill, Ice Cube, Doug Gottlieb who I
don't like each other, Michael Smith's Michael Smith as well.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Earlier that.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
So in the last twenty four hours, David he's with
David Justice and then he think, oh, he's with uh actually,
don't even know who this person is.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Oh that cens al fielder. Wow, sens a fielder thinner
than Rob, is he?
Speaker 5 (02:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:44):
And he was in a picture box thing that you
take pictures in at the Players Alliance. So Rob and
then he also had lunch with the mob Bro crew.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Well, you know, Rob called me at nine thirty am Pacific.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
So that would have been what six thirty, so that
would have been about eight hours before the derby starts.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Like, yeah, I about to well head over to this
to the park right now to do?
Speaker 5 (03:09):
What to do? What?
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Rob? On Instagram? I'm gonna catch you have lunch and
the wings and stuff.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Yeah, So got to bless him, God, bless Rob. We
have twenty posts in about three days. That's gotta step
my game. That's ridiculous. I got fifty. I think I
got the best of my favorites. Just when when you
think the camera is not on selfie mode. Yeah, but
he just takes it and he posts I just love
it and he looks so confused.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
You know what's funny here? But we've only done this once.
Well that's superpoled a couple of times.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
Anytime we're out somewhere and it's people from the show,
or even if you're not on the show, someone that
he knows, and you're at a restaurant or you're anywhere,
Rob is gonna ask someone to take a picture for
you and to see the look on some of the
waitresses and bartenders, like.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Sure, sure, all right, that's so funny, Rob, I just
got eggs all in the face.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
I'm trying to Rob, you got pancakes that he was
trying to offer you on his face and just kind
of crazy. All right, So Rob, God bless him. He'll
be back Wednesday. So a couple of days. Who's enmars
at you again? Who called Martin Weiss? Martin Wiss will
be in tomorrow, all right. Uh so we were talking
about the early hours. By the way, if you haven't

So at our one, we talked about the new list
(04:52):
that has been listed when it comes to the quarterbacks,
and they do this every year ESPN. They put it
out and you have the top one hundred players specifically
at positions, and its quarterback position is this, So I'm
gonna reread it. You have number one, Patrick Mahomes, Josh
Allen at two, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, jayde Daniels at five,
(05:12):
Matthew Stafford at six, John Justin Herbert at what a
My seven, Jared Goff eight Round of Golf, nine and ten,
Jalen Hurts, and Baker Mayfield. So I'm gonna start with
the midway point number five because I think we'd agree
with the four. You can rank change the rankings, but
we agree with the four and mahomes Borough, Jackson and Allen.
The interesting one it's Jayden Daniels.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Now.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
The reason why it's interesting is because he is coming
off of a spectacular rookie campaign. But I'm gonna be
emphasis on heavy on rookie campaign. Yes, and as you know,
you play defense in the league. Defenses go all right,
I had about enough. We figure some things out. Yes,
there are numbers out where seventy percent of his passes
(05:59):
go to the right side of the field, similar to
another quarterback who was ranked lower than him. He does
not like to pass down the middle. And these are
things defenses start to really get. All right, all right,
we're starting to get more daate on you first six, seven,
eight game. All right, good little rookie, all right, looking good,
all right, you know boom Now it's like, all right,
he's actually legit. We gotta start figuring this, figuring him out.
(06:21):
So I thought it was interesting that he was so
high so early in this ranking. Yep, you're looking at
a season of thirty five hundred yards which specifically through
the air, and twenty five touchdowns nine interceptions, which is
good which is what are those are? Those are good?
(06:41):
Those are good stats. If you look at the rushing
he ended up having trying to get the total here,
I think it's a five under. Let me pull that
up right there. But he absolutely is spectacular and we
all expect big things from him. However, there are some
folks that he's that he's above that I find interesting,
and Jalen Hurts being the main one, and I think
(07:05):
he's I think he's a better talent than Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
But I specifically bring those two up before a reason.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
We can't go back to the first hour discussing what
matters most wins for quarterbacks. Well, Jalen Hurts has done that. Yeah,
he's gotten a super Bowl. You could argue out played
Patrick Mahomes in that Super Bowl. He did right, Yeah,
play well next season play you know, they unachieve and
(07:35):
it says they won a bunch of games early, they
lost a bunch but still won a lot. It wasn't
like they were like two and fifteen. Then eventually he
wins a super Bowl. So on one end, I can
see why if you're Jalen Hurts, or if you're his agent,
or if you're just a fan of his. If you're
an Eagle fan, you could say, well, why is Jalen
Hurts solo? If you're ultimately telling me about winning. The
guy's been to two Super Bowls already in his career.
(07:58):
He's one one, he played great in another, and you
got a rookie who you know did well, got to
the NFC Championship game, but doesn't have the kind of
the the years and under his belt as the Jalen Hurts.
So he's the one guy I think talent wise, Jayden
Daniels has been better. But I can see an argument of, well,
(08:18):
what more do you want from me? The way my
the way my team is built. Sakuan freaking Barkley in
the backfield, me and my squatting seven hundred pounds legs.
I can run and I got some receivers. I hit
him when I need you, but I don't have to
pass other times. I'm just winning. I think he's getting
penalized for the style in which he plays and the
(08:41):
way in which their team operates. Really all about up front,
whether it's offensive, defensive line, and he's getting the lack
you know that all of that is taking the credit
away from him and I get it again natural talent wise,
I see why Justin Hurtt. I get just pure armability.
Jaye Daniels from the arms to the ability to run.
He's so slithery and he's then he can get through
spots and holes. But one person I can see who
(09:04):
can have a gripe. If you're telling me it's based
off winning. What has Justin Herbert done that I ain't did, right?
Speaker 3 (09:10):
You know? Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:11):
And Matthew Stafford throughout his career you can he's now
he's a super Bowl champion and again another arm talent.
But I just think Jalen Hurts would be the one
that would have something to say. Even though I get
just pure arm talent and just ability, I do think
Jayson Daniels is better.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
It's too early, I'll just say it straight up for
them to put him at five right now, it's just premature.
One great year does not warrant you being a lot
of guy Mathaford, it's to you said one, it's two
guys on this list right now. There's no way that
he's better than right now, and that is Jalen Hurts
(09:46):
and it's Matthew Stafford. And some would argue Justin Herbert.
But I'm not a big Herbert guy yet either. I
think he showed me, yes, he's got a certain point.
We're gonna look up.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
It's gonna be year twelve, and were like, he's coming
one hundred percent. And that's so that guy would he
wouldn't be on the list. But Jalen Hurts very interesting
because even after the Super Bowl when he outplayed Patrick
Mahomes and at the Super Bowl and you know, Kansas
City came back and won great Super Bowl, I still
wasn't high on him, and I wasn't high on Jalen
(10:15):
Hurst last year. But the fact that he was able
to do what he did last year, there was some
actual turmoil throughout that year that he had to overcome.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
It wasn't always peachy. He didn't play great all year long,
but when it mattered we talked about winning. He showed
up in the big game. He showed up. At this point,
he's a super Bowl winning quarterback. You can win with
that guy, and you know how talented he is. He
has to be number five on this list right now.
And Matthew Stafford has to be up there as well.
(10:45):
I mean talk about talent, arm talent, the things that
he's done the things that he's achieved in his career.
I would put him over Jayden Daniels as well. And
that's not a knock on Jayden Daniels. I think he's phenomenal.
But for him, it's only been one year and that
second it's going to be different, as ask C. J.
Strild when things happen like you have to reinvent yourself,
(11:07):
and teams are gonna now come out and say we
have to stop Jayden Daniels and they will construct the
formula that will make him have to be, like I said,
develop a number two pitch. And so it's a little
premature for that five Franklin. For me, Jalen Hurts has
won sixty four percent of his games. You definitely would
take that. And then since twenty twenty two, is that
(11:29):
seventy percent?
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
You know again, the dude, if the name of the game,
because they gotta be fair, Why did I put Patrick
mut We both agreed at the number one put it
because it's the winning because it was just better player.
Right now, that's been Lamar Jackson, Yes, right now, it's
been Josh Allen, Yes, being Joe Burrow. If you're saying
who's played better the last couple of seasons. But what
we both said, and I believe it, I don't want
to speak got to turn is that Patrick mahonmes, when
(11:54):
it comes down to it, I need a win, I
need a third down.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
I need to play to ice game or to win it.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
He's still the guy because he wins and Jalen Hurts,
who I've been hard on Rob g will tell you
I am to I've been like, I want to see
more of you got stud receivers.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Why aren't y'all balling? Got issue as a receiver?
Speaker 2 (12:13):
You and A J.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Brown getting into it, And obviously that happens from time
to time. So I don't want to act like that's
the end all be off. But my point is he
did leave some more to be desired. And I said
there were gonna be times where I was the question,
if it came down to this drive, you gotta pass
six or seven times, can you get it done? And
you know, to his credit, he was able to do it.
Now they had a big lead and they didn't have
to do it, and some of it was you know,
him being mobile and just kind of some play action
(12:35):
stuff would against takwon Barkley being in the backfield.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
But if the if the at the end of the day,
winning is what matters. And that's the same thing.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
While we did, you know, been knocking Lamar Jackson because
he hasn't won the big one, then Jalen Hurts would
have something to say it and Kevin.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
The crazy part about that list is even I said it,
I just said his name. But c J.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Stroualt to be on that list before him, in my opinion,
before Jay Daniels. Yes, it's it's been two years this.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
C J.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Schuld took the NFL by storm last year obviously, took
the team to the playoffs, a team that was not
expected to do anything that first year. Second year comes
back and is not as pretty as the first year,
but he figures it out. You talk about no old line.
The line was trying. He was running, he was running
for his life. He was fighting, fighting for my life, man.
But found found the way to get to the playoffs
(13:22):
and found a way to still be productive and then
playoffs played his butt off. Yeah, you have two years
to see what he's done. I mean, you only got
one year of Jaydon Daniels to be number five. It's
just a little bit. It's just a little early.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Now.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
The only thing we'll say is maybe he's just maybe
they're these these by the way, for those who don't know,
this is seventy group of GMS, anonymous GMS scouts coaches
as well, and so maybe he's just they see he's
just that gifted. I can already project sure, pure talent wise,
like they're like, no, dude, it's pure talent wise and
(13:53):
so talented. Yeah, these dudes are coming in old as heck,
by the way, in a good way. They ain't coming
in right. I all always told Rob, because sometimes we'll
get into the debate. I'm like, dude, dude, the reason
because he won't acknowledge that these young guys are coming
in ballin am I dude, the reason they're coming in
is because that forty starts under the belt. Think about it.
Usually you went to college, you didn't do it any
in your first year or two. Then you finally got
(14:14):
a couple of games your junior year, maybe maybe half
the season. Then your senior was year or maybe junior
and senior. Yeah, these dudes are getting forty in COVID
years and graduate years. These dudes are coming in grown
men full Beard twenty four, twenty three.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Forty stars, Let's go Michael Pennick's junior him, Yes, Joe Burrow.
These dudes are coming in with a bunch of starts
and they're ready to go yea bow knicks and there's
no dues.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
They're just like ready. And that's why I think they're
not playing.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
They're not coming in struggling as much because they're getting
so many trans reporters. Right, I'm going to different schools
I'm playing, so Kayler Williams played a bunch of big
football as well. So these guys are coming in ready,
ready for it, all right, eight seven to seven ninety
nine on Fox, with take a couple of calls if
you want to get in on this, jayde and Daniels
at fifth, they get it right. Jalen Hurt's being slighted
(15:05):
by this. Maybe Matthew Stafford both Super Bowl winning quarterbacks?
Are they both slided right now? Eight seven to seven
ninety nine on Fox, And then also another quarterback, former
quarterback in the NFL having some issues with the NCAA.
We'll explain what we mean, or even high school, we'll
explain what we mean. It is the Odd Couple Carries

I know bands make her Dance. That's he saw the
same song over over Fox Sports Radio. It is the
Couple Kelvin Washington carry Rose and for Rob on The
(16:32):
Magic City Monday. Rob out here enjoying the uh hold
on every jash Chisholm junior. He's gonna stick to being
a good baseball player the Yankees because home runs.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Keep it cool, keep it cool. I know. I'm sorry
with three. Don't say the number aloud again. Yeah, you
even do say that, it does it doesn't even make it.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Will be bro the week, Yeah, be broad a week
shot him though, and uh maybe, just maybe you'll come
to our studio, Mary can Hey, Mary, how did you
say his name again? That boy cheers Holmie. I think
I wasn't even reading it right for it. Chis home
some something that might be even giving you something. It
(17:18):
might have been worse than that.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
It was funny. It's okay though, his home to his
old hiszl hissel.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
All right, we got if you got achey back, you
got achy n stiff back joints and not cooperating with you. Well,
some days we know it's like that at times, and
on those days, luckily there's a lead with just one pill.
The lead provides us to twelve hours of paying relief
so you can keep moving use as directed. All right, Cary,
we got Daniel Kelly getting ready to join us here
in just a little bit.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Author and former NFL scout Can have some of these
conversations we're talking about with football, Uh, these quarterbacks. And
he was a former scolpt the New York Jets. He
has a book, So we'll talk to him in just
a little bit, all right, So real quick, just to
got to get back to what we were saying, Jalen Hurts,
does it hurt that they have him ranked where they
have him ninth out of ten?
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Jayde and Daniels. You mentioned CJ.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Stroud? You know what else can have some if it're
going just simply based off if the ideology is winning
you ten seconds, think about it? What are you gonna say?
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Baker? No, Okay, who he's on that? He's tenth? Oh
he's not.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
List O Sorry my bad. Yeah, he's not on the list.
Just talking about a lot, not the full on thing
the super Bowl, Ben new him. No, no party brought party. No, No,
he can't have none to say, not in that ten.
He can't have the son nothing to say with uh
(18:40):
with with Baker? No Baker, hold on, I'm his agent.
Hold on, now, I do know Baker what he's done
in Tampa Bay. Because everybody thought once Brady left that
Tampa Bay was going to be irrelevant. Again, true, Baker
came in and has played some outstanding football, so I
(19:01):
would say, no, I still say Baker, Baker's good at
that ten spot. All right, There you have it. So yeah,
seventy scouts and gms and coaches, that's what they came
up with. And at the end of the day, it's
still Patrick Mahomes at number one, which is interesting when
the three guys underneath him all have played better last
couple of years. But it just shows these folks say, hey, man,
well we got a game. You know, we're scouting and
(19:24):
we're we're trying to come up with the defense. That's
still the guy we worried about the roles, right, all
right again Daniel Kelly. On the other side of what's
trending right now, it is Steve the Sacred.
Speaker 2 (19:32):

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Kelvin Washington, and you have Carrie Rose who is in
for Rob Parker on this Magic City Monday. We're joined
now by Daniel Kelly, authored former NFL scout for the
New York Jets, Daniel Kelly book on X.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Daniel's up.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
Hey, how do you guys doing? What's he doing with
calvinon carry? How are you doing tonight?
Speaker 3 (20:02):
We're doing well. Appreciate you taking some time out with us.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
We've been talking a little yack and yaking about these
quarterback in this list, and you know, you, being a
former Scot be perfect to have this conversation with. So
you have seventy anonymous GM scouts and coaches and they
come up with the list of the top one hundred players,
and the quarterback list has number one, of course, Patrick Mahomes.
So I want to kind of go down this list
for you real quick. Tell me where maybe you may
(20:27):
have an issue with it, or if you think they
got to hit hit the nose on the head, that
the nailing the heads.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
No, you get a nose too, Hey, the nose is
on the head, right, all right, here we go.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
Hey, sounds good.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
You got Patrick Mahomes at one, Josh Allen two three,
Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson Ford and then jayde and Daniels
at five, which is an interesting one, Kerry, and I
thought Matthew Stafford, Justin Herbert, Jared Goff Jalen Hurts, Baker
Mayfield at rounding out your ten, any issues, any person
you think way too high, someone maybe not on the list,
(20:59):
and then the spine out. Well, they've played Burrow, Jackson
and Allen. You still have with sixty percent of the
vote for the first place. Patrick Mahomes at one.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
Your thoughts, Yeah, absolutely, guys. I mean they're all good quarterbacks.
I mean, let's let's start by saying that it's kind
of like going to a restaurant looking at a menu
and saying, Hey, what do I want to order? How
I want this done? I mean, I've enjoyed watching all
these guys. For me, you know, I agree with Patrick
Mahomes being number one. I actually moved Joe Burrow up
(21:29):
to number two and kind of flipped them with Josh
Allen there and then number four. I think it's going
to be the big surprise that I have the offer
this evening's going to be Jared Goff. I really like
what Jared Goff put on tape lash year. He's he
runs the offense with a really quick tempo. He's extremely
aggressive down field, throw into the intermediate, at deeper route levels,
(21:52):
you know, big arm. I really like what Jared Goff
did in Detroit. Five, Lamar Jackson, I love me some
Lamar Jackson. Six. I moved up Baker Mayfield into the
sixth spot. Seven, Matthew Stafford, h Jalen Hurts nine, Justin
Herbert And like you guys alluded to, I have Jaden
Daniels at number ten as a quote unquote honorary member
(22:14):
there at number ten. To me, it's just I think
we've got to mention Cliff Kingsbury here, because you know,
Kingsbury did a great job, I feel schematically playing to
his strengths, you know, utilizing that athletics and getting him outside.
You know, he really faced a lot of zone coverage.
He didn't have to throw him to a lot of men.
And when he did throw in the man, he had
(22:36):
two veterans he really you know, leaned heavily on Terry
McLaurin and Zach Ertz at tight end. So I think that,
you know, if they forced him to play a little
bit more man, I think you might run in some
trouble there. But a great season MC title game can't
take anything away from Jane Daniels.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
I want you to it, Daniel, I want you to
expound on that golf movement and you said, you said
you moved him over, moved them to four over the Jackson,
and you said you like the mechanics the operation. Obviously
I do. I do as well. I think he is
a really good quarterback. But why the leap over Lamar
in that situation.
Speaker 5 (23:10):
Why just like in terms of again, it's it's preference,
you know, you know, and and and to me where
you know, when it comes down to quarterback and just
you know, a pure quarterbacking in the pockets. He mostly
you know, Jared Goff mostly works from the pocket. He
shows a really high football I Q a goot of
good tempo. He's got that big arm, he's got the
(23:30):
nice deep ball he attacks. I love attacking quarterbacks that
attack the intermedis and deep levels. He sees the field well.
I feel like he maintains a downfield focused very nicely.
Uh you know, in the face of the rash, he
can feel it, but he's not focused on it. Poised, decisive,
you know, quick decisions, you know. And he's somebody that
(23:51):
you know has a strong enough arm to beat man,
and he can pick apart his own coverage as well,
and really a good placement. I mean, that's really what
this comes down to me is accuracy and Jered Golf.
I mean, not taking anything away from Lamar, right, you know,
but for me, when we're talking about quarterbacking at this point,
you know, that's why I put Golf at at number four.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Hey, Danie, I want to go back to the number
one guy, which is Patrick Mahomes, who's had a couple
of seasons where he hasn't looked like what we expected
from him, and he himself is a minute he said
I got to get back to my mechanics.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
I got to get back.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Now he's saying I want to get back to just
having fun. What do you make Is this simply a
matter of he's lost a bunch of his receiver this
past season. His offensive line was clearly not great. We
saw that, no better example than in the Super Bowl.
Now he's getting some receivers back, obviously they're trying to
fix the line. Is this and he'll be back? What
do you mean if you're scouting him, what's changed or
(24:42):
what would you try to fix?
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Yeah? I think I think he'll be back. I do.
It's really hard, you know, to bet against Patrick Mahomes.
To me, it seems like he just took on too
much pressure and put too much pressure on himself over
the last you know, a year or two, and he
still has all the tools, all the mechanics, uh, supreme confidence.
You know. I think in that Super Bowl, Philadelphia just
(25:07):
got into his head, you know, kind of like Tampa
Bay did a couple of Super Bowls ago. But you know,
all everything's still there with him. And the thing I
love most about him above all the other quarterbacks is
how mental discipline he is and how he stays in
the moment. He does not have a predetermined plan. When
that ball snap, he waits, he waits, and he kind
(25:27):
of just kind of instinctly fields it and flows with it.
He's not depending on mechanics and footwork. He's got great
throwing instincts. And to me, so you know, they got
the left tackle, the Josh Shimmans guy, I think is
going to be a steal of the straft from Ohio
State left tackle. You know, like you mentioned there, the
receivers coming back and stuff. So I think this year,
I think we're going to see him settle down a
(25:49):
little bit more back into like the team is going
to be a little strong around him, and he won't
have to feel that tremendous pressure that maybe he felt
last year.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
He's not like a real scout. I love it.
Speaker 5 (25:59):
I'm gonna I'm going to throw myself in that exactly.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
I'm gonna throw another one out to you right right now.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
You just you just said Ohio State, and I think
there's a guy that played at the Ohio State that
should be probably ten on this list, even before Jaydon Daniels,
and I think that's c J.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Stroud. Can you talk about him a little bit and
what do you think about him as a quarterback?
Speaker 5 (26:19):
Yeah? I love CJ. Stroud. He you know, coming out,
uh you know, I had you know, Bryce Young TV
one and Scroud TV two, but it could have gone
either way. I mean it was really really close. The
thing I loved about Stroud at Ohio State was just
he was just brilliant. I mean just the pre and
the post snap recognition and reading reading those coverages and
(26:42):
and having the ability that high level I discipline, the
deal to manipulate secondaries and manipulate coverages and stuff. And
to me, it's like, you know, he he has that.
You know, there's a little bit of that sophomore slump
thing or whatever. But I expect big things from CJ.
Stroud going forward. I'm a huge fan of c J.
Sproud and you know, just ad that high football IQ
(27:04):
and just all the mechanics everything. He's got the full package.
And I agree with you, you know at this point,
I mean, James Daniels had the big year with Washington,
but yeah, CJ. Sproud definitely deserves to be on that
list for sure. He is.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Daniel Kelly's an author, former NFL scout New York Jets.
Let me ask you about just is there a team
right now that you're looking at and you're saying, hey,
don't sleep on this team. You know this team, I
think it could make a huge leap going into this
this upcoming season that you kind of got an eye on.
I mean, we kind of know the teams we're all
looking at right We're all looking at the Bills, We're
looking at the Ravens. You're looking at the Chiefs, maybe
(27:39):
NFC obviously the reigning champions and the Eagles. Is there
someone else you got an eye on that you say
watch out for them?
Speaker 6 (27:45):
There is?
Speaker 5 (27:46):
I appreciate you asking the Tennessee Titus I like it.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
I like it, Daniel, I like it.
Speaker 5 (27:52):
Yeah, I've picked them to be my surprise AFC team
this year, you know. And and the thing I'm likely
I loved cam Ward and I believe that, you know,
with Mike Burgonzi coming over from the Kansadate Chiefs, I
think he sees I mean, obviously there's you know, there's
morely one Patrick Mahomes. But Kim Warden last year at
the University of Miami, he did a lot of Mahmesey
(28:13):
type of things. He toyed with defenders, kind of drew
him into himself, and then he just fired down the field.
He was able to manipulate defenders and stuff. He's so confident.
That's the thing that just jumped up. His film was
just a supreme uber confidence, which is why I had
him as my number one player on my board and
my TV one. I think I think, you know, as
the old saying goes and scouting, if you have a quarterback,
(28:34):
you have a chance. I love Tennessee's chances because of
cam wardon No.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
I mean, well, I'm not gonna lie, Daniel. You caught
me on guard with that one. You definitely call me
a guard we'll get.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
You out of here for one.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
I'm always well, we.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Got one more, all right.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
So so Rob is normally here, Rob Parker of my
co host, and we have a bet going on for
some wings. I'm trying to convince him to put it
for a pair of Jordan's shoes.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
But the bet, they're good.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
The bet, right, The bet is this, he says the
Detroit Lions won't make the postseason. I thought that was
the most the easiest bet I could ever make. I
should have put Jordan's on it instead of wings. Who's
winning this bet?
Speaker 5 (29:11):
Detroit Lions are going to be a good team this
year than you? Yeah, are you thinking the wings of
the Jordan?
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Well, I know he's scared to put the Jordans on
it now. He wants to just stick with the Wings.
But that's it.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
Yeah, he doesn't think they're gonna make and he has
a hate for Detroit, so they're gonna have time for
that right now. But I've said, yes, they've lost their coordinators,
and maybe you can expound on that real quick, you
know just how important that is and how that we
know that that's an important, uh you know position to
have a coordinators leadership. But to me, you still have
your head coach, Dan Campbell, who just gets he is
(29:45):
the embodies the city. He embodies that team. You have
Jared Goff. They didn't lose anyone offensively. In fact, they're
getting eight Hutchinson.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Bet they're getting guys beat Yeah. So am I missing
something or is Rob missing something? No?
Speaker 5 (29:58):
No, and hi to Rob, I love you, but no.
I mean the thing that coordinators are impoorant, but with
a veteran quarterback like a Jared Goff working in concert
with Dan Campbell, yeah, the coordinator's impoorant. But at the
same time, Jared Goff as Jared Goff, He's worked with
Sean McVay. He know he's done all this stuff. I
(30:21):
don't think they lose a lot by going to a
different offensive coordinator. Personally, I think that Golf has that mentality.
He's got to chip on his shoulder. He wants to
get to the super Bowl, he wants to do these things.
I don't think it's really going to hinder him that much.
I expect Detroit to be to be good this year.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
All right, so cool, let me get I'm gonna do
Louisiana rub first, and then I'll do maybe some hot honey,
hot honey.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
Great.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
Yeah, that's kind of the new thing that's everybody doing. Yeah, yeah,
hot honey. Sounds good.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
All right, thank you, Daniel. We appreciate your time as always.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
Hey, thank you so much, Calvin and Kerry. I really
appreciate you having me on tonight. So just about time
for training camp.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
It's exciting, which is crazy.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
It's like right bull blink, and then we'll be talking
about you know, we'll be me, Rob and I be arguing.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
On the Lions or Theirs or that or that, and
Aaron Rodgers ain't gonna do nothing.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
We'll be arguing about that later. I should have asked
you about Aaron Rodgers. Rob, Do you remind me of
asking about Aaron Rodgers next time we have him on?
All right, thank you, appreciated such your brother.
Speaker 5 (31:16):
All right, thank you guys, have good night. Thank you,
