(01:10):
Carrie and I had a spirit of conversations about top quarterbacks.
So again, if you missed hour one, go check that,
and then coming up again in about an hour and
a half or so, we're gonna have Daniel Kelly, author
of former NFL scout New York Jets, will talk some
football there and again last hour in the podcast, you
can check out Brandon Scoop b Robinson, who got to
scoop on those four teams that had the interest in
Lebron carry who had made those calls. So if you

(01:32):
miss that, you can go here with his intel and
what he got pertaining that. All right, So speaking of
Lebron and those four teams, So according to Scoop who
got the scoop, there are four teams who have reached
out and have some interest in Lebron, one in particular.
I'm gonna leave last because it irks you. So we

(01:53):
have the Calves because that's a I'm coming home. Yeah,
I'm coming it makes sense. So there you got the Warriors,
you have the Clippers, and then you have. I'm sorry
the MAVs.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
I'm sorry. Why did you have to say it again? Sorry? Okay,
some people might be excited. I don't know. Maybe you're
not excited. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
But those are the kind of the teams that have
reached out and have some interest in getting Lebron.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
We know.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Let's just kind of give a little back stories of
things that we've known. Yeah, Brian Winhurst supporting that in
Moda Shellburn that the team and Lebron aren't seeing eyed eye,
that there's some distance between them. We know for a
fact that you just kind of see all the tour
he's been on, he's been played, he's been in Cleveland. Yeah,
he's been here. He hasn't text DeAndre eight and we

(02:36):
heard from DeAndre said him as of when he was
he's signed. Now, if anything's happened since then, we don't know.
But as of that time, the team hasn't put out
a we're so glad Lebron opted in.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
We're woo woo, woa, we're excited.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
We haven't heard from that, which typically you get, right, Yeah,
even if it's just two sentences, is happy he's opted in.
Looking forward to this season, we haven't gotten any of that,
So that's kind of as the precursor to where we
are and why there be interest and why Lebron feels
a bit slided is what the reporting is that you
know from the Lakers.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
You know what's funny, what's that This is the first
time I think in Lebron's career that he's been on
the outside looking in.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
It's an uncomfortable situation.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
A guy that's always been in the know since his
rookie year, right, I think we can safely say he's
had the backing of every team in every GM and
every owner he's been a part of. This is a
new regime. This isn't even the regime that he's familiar with, right,
this is a new regime. So for them to even
you know, try to accommodate him right now or make

(03:38):
him feel better for you know, his ego feel better
with a tweet, Sam, We're happy he's back. Like, I
don't think they're in the business of Lebron, right, They're
in the business of Luca and I think that's very evident.
But it's funny how all that stuff like life comes
at you fool like like full a steam ahead.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Really quickly.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
I've totally been in control of everything and all the
moves that's happened around you to now being left out
and now you're ego not being pleased in the way
that you want. Now you want to shop around and
have your boys say you want to be moved or
you're available, and have these things and not come out
and say them directly. It's just it's it's Lebron's brand,
and it's it's for me. It's kind of ironic that

(04:16):
he's in this situation.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Well, I want to go back to someone that you
just talk about the new regimes, so we know they
have the The group that ow was the Dodgers now
is the owner of the Lakers, and I think there's
been a mutual benefit.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Sometimes in life, things worked out for the both of us.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Now there was left more left to be desired talking
about the Laker, the marriage between the Lakers and Lebron.
You wanted more, Maybe you wanted another ring. Maybe you
we at least got to the finals one or two more.
Maybe we didn't win it, but we got there.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
Maybe you want a MVP on our watch, something you
know you wanted a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
But if you look at the marriage. I think both
teams can, both parties can go. You know, at least, hey,
it was pretty beneficial. ROGI, you're a Laker fan. The
Lakers the last five six years with Kobe horrid.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
He was bad.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
He was it wasn't as fun. He's broken down. It
was a lot going on. He was missing games. The
team wasn't good. They didn't have a lot of great players.
That's just a fact. I'm not being funny that every
year to begin a new pick number two, Deans ruston
number two, Big again, Linzo, number seven, Big Jalius Random,
brandon ingram Like.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
It wasn't good.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
That's why they got accumulated on his young talent because
they weren't good. So to be relevant because of Lebron
at least relevant, at least competent. You missed the playoffs twice,
only twice you won a ring. You made a Western
Conference final. He has the all time leading scorer on
your watch. Watch this too. You had the perfect statesman,

(05:35):
and I mean this sincerely, to handle Kobe Bryant's death.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Right.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
He was the one out there was speaking. He spoke eloquently.
It was one of the times it felt kind of
from the heart. It didn't really feel rehearsed with Lebron.
It kind of just felt like real deal, raw motion.
And then now go, that's why when people's all the
bubble ring, I'm like, dude, they won that the year
for Kobe, everybody kind of goes straight to bubble. I go,
this was the year Kobe pass say kind of viow,
we're gonna win for him, for him, and they did that.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Yeah, that's amazing to me. And you were able to
have that.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Not only did we we the Lakers win it, we
want it and honoring our guy maybe arguably the greatest
Laker of all time. Someone say, magic, it's very generational Kobe.
So Lebron, you got to be in LA. You have
to be close to Hollywood. You got to do all
the business. One thing you want to do, you gotta
win a championship.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
You got to.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
They they got all the clutch guys you ever want,
who you want, what clutch guys you want? Okay, great,
you want to play with your son, Cool, we got that.
You want different coaches. Cool got that they traded the
young corps, all those guys they accumulated. So to me,
it's a mutual benefit and it's just time to move on.
And I think that's okay. Right now, you start to
wonder what's the best fit. I look at this two ways, Carrie.

(06:44):
The Clippers are the best fit in that he gets
to stay directly in Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
We know how much that means to him.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
His kids are in school here, well, his daughter, you know,
you know, his son is obviously still playing with the Lakers.
So we're playing a hypothetical if they swore to happen,
what matches? So I would say the Clippers. And here's why.
For the Clippers. Number one, if you're still keeping the core,
you might have to trade to James Harden obviously for
some Moneys to kind of match, and you have to
move another piece here. But if I have Kawhi, I've

(07:12):
got Zubach who we got Lebron, you got some other
pieces around there. He's still in LA he doesn't have
to travel. You got a guy that you can kind
of say, all right, Kawhi goes down some games. We
got him still here. He can play well. So that
kind of fits and makes sense in that regard. But
the one that's really interesting to me, don't you do it?
I'm not gonna do it. It's the Warriors. Okay, there

(07:35):
you go.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
I'll tell you why why Lebron has been on a
campaign like he was like one of these presidential you
know candidates.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Man, I just g Gotti Schucks. I love to play
with Steph Man. You know who I love to play
with Steph? Ask me who I like to play with?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Kerry? Who would you like to play with?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Steph Curry? I love to play with Steph Kurry. And
in the Olympics it was so correct to play with Steph.
Oh step step Steph. I mean he is like Danks.
Stephan is like whoa. So he gets to play with Steph.
He gets to stay on the West Coast where he's
going to play the Lakers four time. He played the
Clippers four times. You meeting staying on here. You get
to play the Kings four times, so you're here, yeah,

(08:11):
the Suns four times. Still really close to LA just
a quick forty five minute flight our flight max.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
So you get to stay there. You get to compete
with a team.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
And I think it will be the last dance if
you will, for Steve Kerr and Stephan. I don't mean
the last year, but this is their last little go
the next couple of years, right, and Lebron and you
get to compete, You get to play with him, we
get to all seed. It's great for the NBA. Be fun.
And my last point why I think you would love
to do that because if for some odd.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Reason they were to mess around and win. Steph, you
got five, I got five. You ain't got one up
on me. You ain't got one.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Up on me. That sounds like Lebron.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
We both have five. Dang it.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
People have me rank higher than you right now. But
if you mess around and got a fifth, then I didn't.
Maybe now some people want to know. Oh, man, and
he got five ones with Lebron's watching all that? Hold up, yeah,
you gotta hold on, brother.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
You gotta sit with me. Either we both losing.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Oh, we both winning and we got five?

Speaker 5 (09:12):
We right?

Speaker 3 (09:13):
All right? Got fee we got five? No, it's funny
you said.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
The Clippers though that that would be intriguing just from
the standpoint of having those two legends play together, and
obviously their styles of play would fit seamlessly. I mean,
they both do everything at a really high level. And
what what the perfect teammate for Lebron always has been
the guy that can shoot the ball, right, got that

(09:37):
can space it. Whenever you construct the team around him,
you're trying to get shooters around him, right. So the
ultimate shooter, the best shooter of all time on this
team would obviously be so exciting a lot. He would
just find stuff. It would be crazy. Yeah, it'd be crazy.
But again I think, obviously we look at these four teams,
and if you have to choose between these four teams,

(09:57):
I do like the Golden State one the most for
the intrigue of it. But for me, like I said,
Lebron needs to stick this thing out and ride it
out with the Lakers, and.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
The best fit is actually with the Maths. You just.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
You tried not no, no, no, you just don't want
to he Okay, wait wait why did he say that
it's a homecoming.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Why do you say that Kyrie gets to come back
play Kyrie?

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (10:19):
You know Kyrie was on his Lebron little to remember.
You know, I just realized I was too young. I
didn't understand what I had. I didn't appreciate him.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
And Lebron have been a spoon Coons since then, and
they've been cool. And we had Scoop again. Scoopy joined
us last hour.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
He was saying he got some inside traction that they
had had a phone conversation a year or so. We're
go a couple of years ago and they were just like.
Kyrie was like, Yo, man, come be a math It'd
be dope to have you here. Man, Just come be
a Maverick. And Lebron said, Yo, let me you know,
let me think about that point being there's that the
Hey and a D is a connection. You talk about,
a live connection, you talk without already have chemistry. He's
one with Kyrie, he's one with a D. It makes sense.

(10:57):
You're about to get the best version you've seen in
five here the Clay Thompson because he messing with Meg.
That's right, you talk about comeback player of the Year.
Clay Thompson is about to be going crazy. He thinks
he's about to go crazy. Let me tell you if
he goes crazy, remember I said that I'm gonna write
is about to be an assassin?

Speaker 4 (11:15):
I hope Thompson. You know when the game is game six, play.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Game six, Clay. I'm telling you right now, when your
girl is in the gym, you played different.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
When your girl is Meg.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
This version makes her she is the most tone and
fitted working out, and you know he's a baby. I'm
an athlete too. Let me show you how we do it.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Clay Thompson is about to win a three point contest
and love a three point percentage. Some loving basketball. It's
gonna be some loving basketball. Got he's gonna be coming
out there, Andy's, He's gonna have a gonna say saves
the room. He gonna come to games with Houston Astro
jerseys on because she's from.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Houston to Houston. Listen, I'm all for that. Okay, say
I'm all for that, you know, Yeah, put it out there. Yeah,
I mean put Clay.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Why are you ignoring the mass just because you don't
want him?

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Yeah, I just don't. Yeah, I do not want Lebron there.
I just think that you have to you don't want
the king. Think about it again, we talked about this.
If this was a buyout situation, obviously, if Lebron's if
you don't have to give up anything to get him,
that's a no brainer. I'm not saying that that's that
would be some hayting that behavior, that would be a
clear cut version of hate. Right, you said, you just

(12:19):
be robbing hundred percent if that was the case. But
if it's a trade situation, you just got to get
rid of too many of the assets that you have.
And it just doesn't make sense from a long Jeviy
prospect for the map.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
That's all.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
It really doesn't. Here's why I'm just teasing you with
the mask. Here's why it doesn't make sense to master me.
I mean, and I mean this sincerely. Yeah, if I'm
playing a video game, it's a blast, right. In real life,
Kyrie is injured. We don't know when he's coming back.
Some people say January February, some people say March. Kyrie says,
don't calm me in next year. I don't know yet.
Let me just heal. Let me see.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
You know who's often injured, Anthony Davis. Come on, man, stop,
We keep it really, we keep it real. He's often injured.
The man was injured on his first game. I'm about
to prove him that it was worth it that much
better than me he was.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
We're like, okay, all right, a man.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
And I'm not making fun. I'm saying this is his reality.
He's even older now, he's hurt. Now, he's got the
retinal issue. Bro, I'm not even being funny, and everybody's
like all the Mavericks. Rob G's been here for me.
Keep asking people what do y'all mean the Mavericks in
the NBA Finals. I mean people, I respect their opinion. Yeah,
Rashon Phillips's hardly ever wrong, And I'm like, wait, what,

(13:33):
Kyrie's out and he's something. When does he go down?
And what point Cooper Flagg has to get his footing right?
That's fairy. And then Klay Thompson. Now I feel differently
the mag News. This was me pre mag News. I
was saying Clay's washed, and now I mean washing a
good way, like washing with the blood. Like he's like
he a whole new person. Now he's been born again.

(13:54):
He's baptized now and again he is I don't know
who it is he about to be. He got a
new hair boy, yea, he feeling himself. But and then
you got a bunch of power forwards and centers who
I like, Yes, I like a lot, Yes, But you know,
is de Angel Russell the key? Has he ever really,
really really been? Has he showed up when you really
needed DeAngelo Russell? He's one of the more talented players

(14:15):
that has been one of the more frustrating players his
whole career. Yeah, just talented lot. You're like, man, dude,
why can't he do this every night? And that's the thing.
You know this from being a pro. Anytime I've ever
heard professionals talk or coaches talk, and even in this business,
any any business where you have to be professional, anybody
can have a day. Yes, every single person in the

(14:37):
NBA can drop thirty to forty easy, just to night
that was on, the shots are coming my way, team
was feeding me, or I just had a great matchup.
Can you drop twenty five every single night? Twenty eight
every night? That's why Kobe was Kobe, Jordan was Jordan,
Lebron was Abron, Katie's Katie's staff. Can you drop every

(15:00):
every single night? Put me down for twenty eight and eight?
I will tell me. Guys can't do that in a
winning situation too. In a winning situation, I'll tell you this,
o Kel. It depends on what is needed of you.
When the Angelo Russell was with the Nets and he
was the guy, he could, he could do that. And

(15:20):
so again I to say he can't or can any
of those guys, it's unfair to say that without the
real backstory.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
No, it is no, because you just asked. They made
the playoffs that year too. So if this isn't a
team that wasn't in the in the.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Do you remember that record? I think they were where
they subbed five hundred and got in the player. I
looked that up. I'm not sure they made you know
some teams.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
No, I know they'd be doing that. But listen, that'll
be thirty eight and something. Then they make the playoffs, right,
but kel, But I'm saying, that's the point, right, if
you're asking of that from him, ask ask of it,
and if he can't do it, then So this is
what I look like, Rober.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
But he's done it.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Talking about the pistons or the lines. This is this.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Is what I look like. I know you said he
can't do it. He has done it.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
I'm sorry, Roger. I'm might even text Rob hey, I
know you're a magic city, but my bad, I get it.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
No, Nope, this is what rose color glasses. That's what
it is.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
You over here, year ten, for eleven, whatever it is,
for the end of the rust you like, now, it's
the year.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
I'm telling you. I'm not saying he is. That's not
my point. Nope, But you said he can't do it.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
He can't do it, Well, you know somebody who else
is now a maverick. Some people wanted to see more,
some people wanted to see less. Digit see enough from
Cooper Flag to call it quits on Summer League.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
We'll discuss that next.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
It's the odd Couple carries In for Rob kelvin Washington

Speaker 1 (17:32):
A couple kelvin Washington carry rose in for Rob on
the Magic City Monday, achy knees, stiff back, Joy's not cooperating.
Some days your body's just like no, this ain't the day.
And on those days, luckily there's a leave which just
one pill a lead provides up to twelve hours of
pain relief so that you can't keep moving. But make

(17:54):
sure you use as directed. I thought you were taking
shots at me. I didn't look at you. You didn't
if you would have glanced over it with some bee.
I'm not gonna lie to you, Bro. With these jobs
and all this stuff I got going on, I can
hit you with an aking knees check yeah, stiff back,
big check, Yes, joints, none of them cooperating. So yeah, man,

(18:15):
I got it. You know what I need flexibility. I
gotta start stretching. You gotta stretch, brother. They don't tell
you that, Rob. G We gotta stretch. Rob, and I
got some years on you. It just starts happening like
where you just I can't do that sitting down. I'm
my daughter's gotta do something with him. So yeah, I
gotta get Maybe I should not have seventeen.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
Jobs, not seventeen sixteen. Sixteen sixteen is that's the limit.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
That's the yeah, yeah, all right, we got We're talking
about Cooper Flag, who the Mass pretty much pulled. They said,
all right, Bro, we have seen enough of him after
a couple of summer league games me and Rob Parker
got into after his first one. I'll throw some stuff
that you can get your opinion on it, especially since
you're a Mass fane. And really the question will be
did they do the right thing pulling him this early?

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Right or wrong? We'll answer that on the other side.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Right now, why don't we go to Steve just say
and find out what it's trending a little early.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Steve Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup

Speaker 1 (19:15):
It is the Eye Couple and it's kelvin Washington with
Kerry Rhoads. And for Rob, Robin joined this home run derby.
At least you should be hopefully everything's going good with him,
all right, Cooper Flag a couple of games five for
twenty one. Yeah, game one, Rob said he's a bus
worst player ever. Get rid of him. Waving the white flag.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Stop it. I said, he's not Apple, not even him.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
The Summer League is not Apple, it's not in the video,
it's not you know, Coke things that I buy stock
in too much. Right, You're playing against guys who predominantly
won't either be in the league or they'll be in
the G league. Yeah, it's it's entertaining, it's hype, you know,
it's it's an off season.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
Why not.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
But the idea that you're going to be great because
you played well and or you're gonna be a bus
because you had a bad game or two. We've seen
too many players do the opposite. Ben Simmons looked like
the greatest thing ever. We ain't heard from him since
Mark Hill folks looked like the greatest number one pick ever.
Then we ain't heard from him since Kyle Kusman looked
like he was gonna be an All Star. And it mean,
you know, yeah, and then we've seen another. Steph Curry looked,

(20:16):
I Derick Rose look I down there. Both one would
have been the Hall of Famer he had he not
been injured. And Steph, we know is Stephan some point
is you just don't know? So I didn't take too
much what I looked for. It was what I you
and I had think said here. Yeah, we were saying
the talents that he had, the one thing I know
that he has. I said, well one was the lead athleticism. Yes,
we saw that a few times.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Now. We keep trying to dunk some great dunks on people.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
And then also where Rob G was calling me, robb
j ain't never called me in the middle of the
sports day, rob.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
G called me what he's saying, well, you, oh, you
don't know.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Rob G gave up his brown card and his honorary
black card. He was going full on, you know, I'm
looking for the good old American pie wide America to
come back. Oh wow, Katie Clark and h Cooper flag
who flogging Cooper? Flogging Cooper fo Yeah, he was. He
was all into that, okay, and so he was calling
me everything Cooper. I mean he would literally he drew

(21:07):
a charge. I'm like, Rob D why are you my
phone right now? Because he drew a charge. Yes, but
like nineteen sixty all over again. I told him, I said,
rob G, they wouldn't have liked you. And then I
couldn't mean Rob Parker couldn't vote, you know what I mean?
So I like what I said to you, then you
happen to be in those days. Yeah, the thing I
knew he would do from zero minute to forty eight minutes.

(21:27):
He's going to play hard on both ends of the court. Yes,
he's going to compete. He's not gonna take anything for granted.
He's gonna want to win. He's gonna play hard, he's
gonna root his teammates on, and he is going to
be locked in. And I saw that in Game one
and then obviously Game two. But he had thirty one
points look good, So to me it makes sense they
pull Him'm not I don't have a big issue, but
I'd like to see him play a little more. Sure,

(21:49):
but when I have Kyrie out eighty is out now
with the retinal issues, and I'm trying to sell a
franchise that we'll be all right. Look, we got this guy. Luckily,
we got the number one pig because we just sold Luca.
I need him ready day one NBA real regular season,
So absolutely I need him to be ready.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
And we saw enough.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
If you believed in him before two games in the
Summer League didn't make it's really change anything for them.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
For sure. No, we're good right move, right move. He's
played enough. I thought he played too much. To be honest,
I didn't think he would played as much as he
played in these first two games.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
I thought he was.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
I thought he come in and do some spot stuff
and you know, show them, show the crowd a little
bit there. I mean, obviously the first game was special
because it was the kickoff and everybody was there. It
was against the Lakers. I understand that, and I understand
the nerves that he had as well, right, like, going
into that situation, number one, pick, I mean, sold out
to come watch you play a summer league game. I

(22:44):
could sense the nerves. I felt the nerves from him, right,
That was part of it, the excitement coming out not
shooting well obviously, because Number one. The other thing that
people got to understand with Cooper Flag is he hasn't
been a volume score ever, and so to put him
in a situation in the summer League where you want
him to go out and put up numbers, and I'm
sure he wants to as well. He's pressing, he's doing

(23:06):
things that he doesn't usually do. He doesn't shoot six
seven threes in the game. I don't know how many
he shot the game, but way more than he usually
with you. The boxes are stacked. They're not gonna let
you get the highlight because these other guys want to
come out and show you that. No, we deserve to
get some of this praise. So you know that's out
there as well. So as far as the shooting goes,

(23:26):
who cares. He's going to get better. The way that
he played the thing you said he's going to play hard,
he did that. He showed that he's going to make
the right play also, which you didn't say at this time,
but that's what he's about. He's about doing it the
right way. So all those boxes were checked. Even the
second game. I thought he should have played not so much.
I mean we saw enough, so them pulling the plug

(23:47):
right now makes sense to me. The guy is ready
to play and he's going to be a plug and
play guy from day one. And we know that and
we see that, we saw that.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Yeah, I mean it just for a few again, if
you're the Mavericks, I can't do. Dude's been the number
one pick since he was like a junior in high school. Yes,
meaning we already know are when he's when it's his time,
he's gonna be the number one pick, so meaning nothing changed.
Where he had ten points, twenty points, thirty point, zero point.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
You knew what it was.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
You knew what it is, right, and you saw what
he did in high level basketball in college and specifically
in March Madness, and where he led his team all
the way there and looked good.

Speaker 3 (24:19):
He didn't win it all.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Obviously, he missed a shot, yeah, you know, to get
himself to the finals.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
But I think he himself would say I'm good. Now.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
I think the competitor wants to play, but I think
if he logically sat down and realizes it doesn't make
any more sense for me to play. Most of these
dudes aren't even going to be in the league in
which I'm trying to compete and continue to play in.
And now one thing I was I will be critical of,
and more so of his game, which you have time
to adjust to him, but more so the ideology that
Jason Kidd was pitching of him playing point guard.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
Yeah, I don't like that either.

Speaker 4 (24:49):
Now I don't, and I'm sorry to cut out killing
I don't either. And the reason so I'm not tripping
no and not let you finished. But I'm not good
but the reason is that focus is on you from
as soon as you touch the ball. I mean we
saw it in Game one with the Lakers. He was
bringing the ball up and they pressed him and they

(25:11):
they trapped him, and he was like, what is this
so just that? But go ahead, Kevin, Oh, you're right.
There's a different Listen, there's a different handle. Yes, that's
needed to run point.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Yes, there's a different there's a different eye game meaning
you're looking up head up, draw dribbling head up while dribbling,
not dribble, and like there's and then there's a different
defensive approach meaning, well I might put a little guard
under you, like Briannie to get under you. Now of course, yeah,
you come down half court said you can post somebody out,
but uh, when we score, you gotta bring that.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
Ball at ninety four feet.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
I'm gonna put a little then a shrewder up on
you to annoy you, to uh you know, put somebody
speed you up, Yes, speed you up, make you uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
And so yeah, he's he's definitely.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Now if if you're saying more of a Scottie pip
and grab the rebound, go yes, then I'm with Jason kidd,
I get the ideology. Yes, we won't have Kyrie the
way our bigs are. We don't have bigs that we
drop it down low and let him get a bucket.
We got to kind of create for them, like go,
go go. So then I would want him get a
rebound and go, but just a a more slow down

(26:17):
pace or half court. He is not that kind of guy.
He is a get it in the flow. He has
a little bit of possibility being like a Siakam. We
don't have to necessarily run plays. He just kind of
gets the ball and die for the basket and get
a tip dunk and get a rebound and you know,
come around the corner he spot up for three. But
the idea of him just running the point, yeah, no,
I don't think that them guys were up under him.

(26:37):
Guys was you know, making it really difficult for him
to dribble. But again, if you just I absolutely understand
the concept of him getting boards and go, which is
what you're seeing a lot of that. Now, just get
the ball go. Let's say the pace has changed nowadays,
we don't have to have a traditional ragion rondo, Chris
Paul point guard, right, just go, which by the way
somebody posts some Ragion Rondo highlights recently, My gosh, was

(27:01):
he good at his peak?

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Yes, peak, Rondo's nuts.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Yeah, No, fourteen points, nineteen assists, and this is back
with a different pacing and at different points per game.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Like now that somebody will do that, everybody's doing it. No,
it was different, it was he was.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
He's a savant, he really is. He's somebody that I
know will be a great coach if he want.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Everybody, every coach has said, every one of his coaches,
he really would.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
And I played, Oh here we go.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
I played with him and pick up and like even
in pick up, he has complete control of everything that's
happening on the court. And you know, I'm from Louisville,
He's from Louisville. So getting a lot of runs back
back in that day just seeing how he orchestrate it.
And the other thing about Rondo he seems if you
don't know him, he's he seems shorter, but he's so
long his arms.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
His you know what I mean, Like he scratches ankle
standing it's crazy. So, yes, a good shout out for Rondo. Yes,
he's so funny. By the way, how athletes are built
and and and something will surprise you their size and
a big one. Oh I didn't know he was that big. Yeah,
some of the opposite way. But I will tell you, Rober,
you can get in on this too. Give me the
athlete that you've met that surprised you their stature. It

(28:07):
could be either a small in your thought, maybe slimmer,
maybe big whatever. I'll start and this is gonna be
funny because he's how tall are you? But whatever experience?
Yeah he's so, he's shorter than you, but he's maybe
an inch too taller than me. Alan Iverson. Yeah, when
you see him, you're like, all right, he's not you know.
But when you look at his frame, you're like, oh,

(28:30):
I see why you were an athlete. You could have
been a center fielder, you could have been an els
obviously a quarterback, really good one in high school.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Like his shoulder with his arm length.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
You just look at like, oh god, just and you
made me think of that when I think of Rondo,
like you, like you see their frame and you're like, oh,
you are built differently, yes, like you're just legitimately built differently.
I saw it, and I seen the like, oh you
just you see him to somebody like you and I
ribbal he's not that much bigger than us, but you

(29:03):
just see like, nah, your hands, Why are your hands
that big to be my size?

Speaker 3 (29:07):
Exactly? Wait? Why are your.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Arms that long, like three inches longer than mine to
be my side? And it just realized, Okay, you were
gonna pick the sport. You were gonna be able to
do that, and Ray Jon Rono is like that to you,
like dog, why are you scratching your ankles standing straight up?
That'll make it for real? How do you tell your
shoes standing straight up? Look at me my eye right now?
The heck yeah no? How'd you pick up that penny
on the floor? I never been downright? What about you?

(29:32):
Either one or any other guy? You could have been
surprised you big? You know another one? Since you guys
are thinking Kevin Durant he is looking. Don't let him
ever sell you in six said man stop that. I
was next to him, like, bro, you don't cut it out.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
I got one for you now. Okay.

Speaker 5 (29:47):
There's a lot of football players and and other than carry.
They're much shorter in person than car actually tall, but
this isn't a football one. But so that's why I
want to dismiss those guys. When I first met Mike Tyson,
the lore of Mike Tyson the baddest man. That's a
good one. That's a good one. He will eat your

(30:07):
children after he knocked you out, Like that's that kind
of like that dude, that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
And you meet him in person, he's like five to nine. Yep,
you know he's not he's big, but he's not like
overly big. He's not.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Yeah, he's not huge, but when he puts his hand
on your shoulder, you're like, oh, yeah, no, I got it.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah no, yeah, I feel and you gotta think full
testosterone twenty twenty one, twenty two year old him, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Now we're seeing well now he's back in great shape.
But there was that period where you like, if you
describe him.

Speaker 5 (30:33):
That you look it up and like if people look
at boxing Rack, you think he's six, he's five nine.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Yeah yeah, And it's so like compast compactly Bill.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
He's like a FOURD escape like they took a full
suburban and they went, yeah, that's a point.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
I remember seeing him the first time and he be
in Vegas ot a fight. It wasn't it was a
good one, not a crazy one. And uh, he's like
two rows in front of it. We have great SI.
First of all, myke Ty, if you don't go get
front ro, what are you doing up here with us?

Speaker 3 (30:57):
And I was like, Babe, is that my time?

Speaker 1 (31:00):
And you know he can the guy forbid he ever
just watched something normally there by coming to Mike Mike
or Mike Mike, Mike. Hey can't get picked Mike. That's
the first time I saw then. Randomly, for those who
aren't in Los Angeles, there's a big festivals called the
Taste of Soul, like four hundred thousand people gather on
one day in October.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Here he's walking around with one guy. That's it.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Not a team, not a bunch of people. And I
actually felt bad for him because it was like he
just he just wanted to be there, you know on
the Bible. Go get some food, get some soul food.
Maybe go check out some people's little setups and buy
some shirts support people's businesses. And he could every step
grab people and grabbing him. I saw his you know,
I'm dead serious, Rob, I saw his you can that that?

(31:43):
Where is he from Brooklyn and New York bronze, Milt whatever,
like you can see that still there for He mentions
it like he still has PTSD from the being in
the hood getting beat up, and dude, he's walking trying
to be peaceful, but people grabbed Mike. Hey, Mike grabbing
him and you see him like yo, like and I'm like,
dangn he can't even just you know what I mean.
He just walked around with one guy. He just one
guy who just kind of walking in front of him

(32:05):
and everybody, I mean, everybody's going crazy. And then he
eventually I saw he had to just like kind of leave,
and I'm like, dang, he just I don't ever want
that life. You don't an amenity, I will take it.
I get stopped every now and again because of the
spectrum news. You know, he news guy, Hey cool you okay,
love to show thank you all. He is your family,
you're beautiful dog joints. Well, it's your wife or that's it.
Nothing crazy. You can go days. Maybe doesn't happen for days.

(32:28):
I can't imagine Mike Tyson, Lebron, Kevin Gar When.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
You see Lebron over the weekend he went to the
NAS show in Vegas. I felt bad for nas.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Because interrupt the whole she's doing this show and all
these phones come out and no one's looking at the stage.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
They're looking at and I was like, you can hate
me now, yeah, the world, the world is your the world.
Guy's the world's mind. I'm on stage right now. No Lebron,
you know it's crazy. He's just dapt him while he
was before. Don't even show Okay, I'm doing his live
before it carry. You can't just walk up to the
stage in the middle of your part. That's what I'm time.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
And you know it's real, right, That's why I'm trying
to come to the thing your host, and so I
can interrupt you. I just want to mess I just
want to hackle you. This is part of my plan.
I'm I'm so mad that you just said that, because
that's why I keep asking you when is the show?

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Because I'm gonna helckle you. That's my plan.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Oh think you too nice? I won't he you're too nice.
Now you might interrupt the show with a song. I'm like,
so coming on that hill right, a little interlude. Yeah,
you will do a little interlude.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
You will do that. We wouldn't be mad if you
do that you can. You can help us out with that.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Yes, all right, playing in the Olympics, NBA players, somebody
prominent in that world said he's had enough of it.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
We'll tell you who it is, and if we agree,
it's the couple. Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio

Speaker 1 (33:53):
Yep, Carr, go go check the sea if your car
still in the garage, because somebody has a similar car
out here on the roads.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
And you know it's La.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
When you ah, nice beautiful a in La, I knew
you gouts and it wouldn't be a beautiful day in
La without a car. Your car pursued. Yeah, if we don't, Yeah,
you gotta have that right. So just make sure let
me see what side of town they on. Mary, make
sure that somebody didn't come over here and take that.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
It's the couple.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Kelvin Washington Carry Roads and for Rob on a Magic
City Monday, we are checking to make sure carry's cars.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
All right. We got somebody on that. It's good.

Speaker 1 (34:31):
Patrick is on that he's gonna confirm for us in
just a little bit and make sure you're good. At
what point do you just by the way, this is
better than anything we're getting ready to do. That's what
I take the start because I can't my station. We're like,
we're high brod with these. We don't do these. We're like, no, no,
we're better than this. People don't care. So it's fun
when I get to do one of these. By the way,
ak N stiff back joints not cooperating. This person might

(34:51):
be them if this don't end well for them. Some
days your body's just like nope, And all those days,
luckily there is a leave with.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Just one pill.

Speaker 1 (34:59):
The lead provides up to twelve hours of pain relief,
so you can keep moving. Use as directed. I know
somebody wish the police will leave them alone right now
as they're driving. At what point, once the bird is
on you, as in the chopper, it's over, do you
just take the l it's over?

Speaker 3 (35:15):
Or do you ride it out?

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Which I also see you riding it out like, well,
thank you they are I'm amas gonna ride out and you.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
Never know if it's nighttime, ride it out, okay, night.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Time ride it out? All right? Look at Mary mark.
You didn't even going fast enough.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
Man doing he's really nice.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
He's letting, he's letting this past. This ruined it for everybody, man,
dang it. Yeah, this is nuts. The slowest car chasing history.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
He's going thirty miles while we're down a residential in
a stolen car.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
It's pretty pretty unique. Actually, this is very respectful. Yeah,
this is a by the way, Patrick, did sale check
for your car carrying? We're good? Good, good.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Wait at this point, I'm actually are they Are we
sure it's stolen? Because that driving normal, they're going home.
What do you think this might be a case of
mistaken adenemy? Find out this somebody. Maybe this guy had
a hard day and gut you. Let me make sure
this ain't a d w b S. Maybe just driving
one blad like now he had them stolen. That that's
a nice car. It's gotta be stolen. No, he's legitimate.

(36:09):
If he stopped at this stop sign, I've had enough.
All right, here's the stop sign. If he's he stopped,
he did a California role.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
You turn, he missed his exit. With that being said,
real quick, they already flicking off the I can't see
what's going on. I mean he does look a little tan.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
He does look at he's already banged our people. He's
already banged it up. To look at the bottom of it,
it's it's hanging. Whoever's Ryan with him with the whites
with the white tea is so mad. He's like, I
can't believe you told me was going to get a
seven eleven slurpy. I'm going to go to a decade.
All right, they're slowing down, all right, let me get
back to sport.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
This is so entertaining.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
At one time, I will admit I did see somebody
get away. They stopped it like a a mall and
went into the parking structure so the helicopter could no
longer see him. The cops were doing the whole stay back,
let him go. So he got in and they just
couldn't find him. And so I don't know if he
got away. Like obviously I wasn't watching for five hours

(37:16):
or something, but for the first hour and a half
I watched he got away. Okay, see they're going now
he's getting up.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Not it picking up. The person you talking about was
uh one. That was Michael J.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Fox.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
That was Michael J. Fox. That was the DeLorean. He
went back in time. He just disappeared, That's what it was.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
Yeah, one time we just moved to California, my wife
and I and we're watching one. This was epic, like
they wrote stories about it. The dude just stole some
money from somewhere, I think a bank or something, and
they just said blanket and they just went through their
hood and was throwing money out at the window like
I mean, Watts you remember that one. Why I'm talking
thousands throwing a thousands thousands tough and everybody it was

(37:51):
like almost kind of sort accidentally started protecting him if
you were, because it's like we're trying to block day.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Hold on.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
No, they throwing money out here?

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Did you guys?

Speaker 3 (37:58):
See how I was in the middle of one, in
the middle of one of the almost got chase, like
I was driving home minute. I was in the middle.
I feel like, you.

Speaker 1 (38:05):
Haven't lived in it was as well, yeah you have
if you've not been on like oh or had to
get off side the road or see, you haven't lived
in La Now.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
I was in the middle of it, like smack dad, No,
me too. The car went right went right past me.
Oh wow, yeah, married man. She was in the middle
of the car, the stolen car, Mary Mary Mack, come
on to marry Jack.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
No, that's your new nickname.
