I don't know likely. He said he didn't want to
have to fight traffic and do all that. He was
trying to go on Sunday. But I said, they said,
rob even though we get into you know, heathenistic, it
is the Law's day and down south. Yeah, you can't

(01:31):
do a lot of things on Sunday, and he can't
get alcohol. Things are closed, and so he found that out.

lot going on. Every time I talk to him, Hey,
what's up, Robgie? What you want to get into? It's
always you know, you hear the yeah, yeah, yeah, I
hear the sound. Shoot, we get that early text from Robbie.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
I know.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Hey, y'all just bear with me today because you're never
gonna believe us.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yeah. Where are these that on their Where are these
things stemming from?

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Yeah, it's just like family, stupid stupid random stuff, you know,
like leaks. Every everybody's been there where you And by
the way, this particular week, about two weeks ago, his
car had an issue. His was much real life, scarier
than than the hours. And then Rob what was Rob's
all flat tire? His rim crack, his rim crack. We
already knew the tire was low, but he was trying

(03:13):
to race the mat city. Yeah, that's what it was.
You got to slow that thing down. You can't hit
those You can't hit those corners so fast, rob g
And then as I was telling them, I told him
in the group chat, I said, Yo, let me just
get my butt home before something crazy happened to me.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Dude. So I was driving the car and oh the
other car? Whoa flex?

Speaker 2 (03:33):
The other car?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
You heard that? How I mean?

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Was I get a call as I'm coming up home
and I'm thinking, like, hey, grab dinner or something. I hang,
what's up? And she's like hey hey? I was like
she had weird what's up? Hey baby baby? And then
come to find out our neighbor kid fell all on
my new car, grapes all down the side, two doors.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
So it was just a horrible week that week wherever
he had something going on.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
So Miss Mary Mac hopefully shouldn't have Miss Mary Mack
on the ones and Choice, and we got, of course
Steve the saga gonna get you set on what is trending?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Miss Mary Mac? Do you to drop too by bad?
I'll hit you a little too early? Why you bug?
And y'all curse me.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
By the way, my front bumper literally as I'm getting here,
like scratching, it literally came off there.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
It is robb g did have that happen too, man,
He did actually, and I.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Don't know way.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
I had to like put it all back and I
was like danks and I gotta look for a new and.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
You should have hit Robbie robb handy with them zip ties. Oh.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
Man, So you guys are like throwing some type of
thing my way. I guess I'm next.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
I don't know, proNT be here, That's what That's what
I'm saying. Wait, Wait, don't you got don't you gotta
beamer carry?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Wait don't I'm gonna say, brother, you've already had your problems.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
I know you're I know you're in the shop more
than all of us combined. This is a ridiculous. That
is ridiculous. Can we go to the topic, man, topic?

Speaker 4 (04:57):
The topic at hand today A really good one here, Carrie,
to have you here because of course you play in
the NFL, and so there's a conversation where you had
some NFL execs and coaches and also some scouts as well,
and they do this annually. And they rank the top players,
but they kind of go position by position. So we start,
of course with quarterbacks and they more than seventy anonymous.

(05:19):
Like we mentioned, coaches and execks and scouts. I'll get
into this, and they get down to the top ten.
So the last few years, the number one has been
Patrick Mahomes. But will there be changes this year? Drum roll, No,
ain't no changes. Patrick Mahomes is number one again. However,
there's a little bit of controversy.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
He is his lead. The gap has lessened.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
The gap is slimmer because you got guys keep creeping
up on them. So it goes like this number one Mahomes,
Number two, Josh Allen, you have Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson.
Number five is where it gets interesting to me. Jade
and Daniels, Yes, and then and so on. We'll go
down the long list a little bit later on, but
I want to start with this Patrick Mahomes. Part of

(06:05):
the reason, if you read the article, some execs says,
which is kind of how I felt. And I had
to argue with Rob last year his numbers weren't great.
If I just told you a guy had twenty eight
and eleven, you I mean, that's solid, you know, but
if I told you Patrick Mahomes, but I wanted a
little bit better on your hat. Right now, you have
a goat, and he was a legit person competing to

(06:27):
be the goat. Those aren't goat like numbers. So this
is my thing that I pointed out that some of
these anonymous scouts and gyms and all that pointed out
as well. His offensive line was bad. He was running
around for his life. Also, his wide receivers, as we
know it decimated with injuries. So he was making the
best out of what he had. You know, sometimes mama
ain't have everything, but she gonna make the best of.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
What she had.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
We gonna eat and we're gonna eat good. And in
this case, that's him winning to the tune of fifteen
and two. So that was one of the things pointed out.
But also they said other guys getting better. Some said
Joe Burrows and playing the best football last couple seas.
Some of guys said lamar Jay, you know, so on
and so forth down the line.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Sure, So.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
My thing with this is when it comes to Patrick Mahomes,
it's really difficult to kind of explain because me and
Robb g were discussing this. Patrick Mahomes has done something
that every ten to fifteen years a guy will do
in a sport, and it'll happen in other sports only
maybe twenty twenty five years, where we have a handful
of guys who have done this. Carrie, I think you'll

(07:26):
feel me. Patrick Mahomes isn't rare air. Patrick Mahomes is
in the as of recent NBA wise Lebron Tiger Woods
with golf Serena Williams with tennis Tom Brady playing the
same position in the same league in the NFL. And
what that is is at a certain point they had
so much winning, and they did it early or at

(07:48):
least in a certain span of years, and they dominated,
and so they had the numbers, they had the wins,
and they did it in a unique style that was
different that all of a sudden in your psyche will
they're just gonna win. And there was a period in
time where Lebron was just that guy, He's gonna win MVP.
If I say, hey, who's gonna win this series? You know,
you say, I gotta go with Lebron, and he might lose,

(08:09):
and just like Patrick Holmes has lost in Super Bowls,
but you're like, I'm going with that guy. Even when
tiger Woods started to get banged up a little bit
started to be a little less than he was. If
I said, who you putting the money on his turn
this in the US Open? Who'd have Tiger Woods? Who'd
you putting the money on Augusta Serena Williams has a baby,
comes back, she's don her best shape, she's trying to
work it out, she has some injuries.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
If I said, he but.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
Who you got who's winning the Australian Open, Serena Williams
tom Brady. He's in his forties, He's this, he's trying
to figure it out. He's eating avocado ice cream. And
if I said who you got to win? You say
Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes has gotten to that point
because I get that year by year he hasn't been
the best player. Yes, for the last few years, last

(08:53):
couple of years in particular, season by season, I get
the last couple of years. You can look at other
guys numbers. They're doing more dazzling, more beautifully style of football.
It's more spectacular to watch. They're blowing people out regularly,
routinely where he was ekeing by people off last year.
But when it comes down to it, it is difficult

(09:14):
for me to put any of them in a position
where I would pick them over him in a game,
in a meaningful game, if it's a playoff game, a
Super Bowl game and going up against the Now the
other guys are in his division, but let's just say
in the playoff game, I can't pick against or not.
His division is conference. I can't pick against him. And
that's a credit to the run he had, the run
of Lebron had, the run of Brady, the run of attacker,

(09:34):
where you're like, until I see otherwise, routinely, I gotta
go with the guy that routinely is in the Super
Bowl win loser, draw. Routinely there routinely fifteen and two. Yeah,
I mean, and everything you said is correct.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
It's right.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
I feel the yeah, the stallion Klay Thompson girlfriend. But
there is a butt right because he went in by
the way. I'm sorry, ahead, No, Like everything you said
is right.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
But there is a level of the expectations that we
have been accustomed to expecting from Patrick Mahomes, the level
of play, the things that he does when he first
came to the league. A lot of the stuff he
was doing was unorthodox, right for a guy that was winning.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Yea.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
And I think and I think that part of it
was cool to see the aesthetics of it. You mean
this the aesthetics the way he played. I mean obviously
when he first started he couldn't read defense as well either.
He was out there winging that play. Yeah, and it
was and it was beautiful to see. So you have
seen the evolution of his game from the first year
he started to where he is now. Right now, they

(10:40):
have caught up to him. Those top four that we
that were named on any given day, they can be the.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Best quarterback in the league. I don't disagree.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
And that's the point, right, So when you make these
lists and you make a concrete number one, this is
the number one guy, there's always an asterisk behind it
because obviously that's attributed to team success. If he was
in Lamar Jackson's position at four, putting up the numbers
that Lamar is putting up, winning the MVPs and all
the things that.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
He's been doing.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
And not getting the wins, would he still be number
one as a And and when you think of wins
that's a team thing. It's not just him. Obviously, he's
the head of the snake. And you can make that
argument what you just said, what you just eloquently said,
and it can be true. But on the flip side
of that, if Lamar's team has let him down, and
I'm not saying that's always been the case, Lamar hasn't
always played well in big playoff games either, But if

(11:35):
the roles were switch, would he be one and Patrick
mahons before? I think that's my argument, right, So when
you make these lists, especially coming off recent history the
last couple of years, it's been clear that there's been
quarterback played better than Patrick mahoney, So why can you
concretely say that he's number one?

Speaker 3 (11:52):
And that's always my tip, And I don't.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
Think anything of any of these are concrete, which is
why I think a big yet. But I think that
so when you start to poll people and then the
way they put the rankings in power this guy got
more votes, he got more first play votes. You know
they do all the metrics in the numbers. I don't
think it's concrete. I think he got sixty percent of
the number one votes this time around, so it wasn't
like a blowout where That's why I say it wasn't concrete.

(12:15):
And I do think you know, if you read through
some of their points, that was just what you said, Hey, yo,
Joe Burrow. They said he has been the big least.
Some of them said that his footwork is timing, is
completion percentage at seventy percent. They were saying, like, you know,
he's kind of the guy. Others would say, oh, look
look at what Josh Allen is just a whole different
beast to size the speed of athleticism. But I think

(12:36):
what the common denominator is, Carrie, I will go, yeah,
that's cool, Yeah, I hear you, yep, yuh. Well they're
lining up this Sunday AFC title game. Who you got
and that's been proven and that's the thing that that's
why he's the guy. Now, you know, we'll talk later
on some more of his lifts and maybe even a

(12:56):
little bit further on here.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
You know, there's more to be dissect.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
I think about Lamar Jackson because I've been saying something
about Lamar Jackson for an entire year that I've been
doing this odd couple and I know you've been here
for days that I've said it, and I know you
echoed the same sentiments about how great he's been. But
I do think there's something too why he's on this list.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Now.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
This is the second year in a row that Lamar
Jackson has been for So we'll get into that a
little because I can see why you feel like you
want to go off. It's the first segment. You're trying
to be nice. You already know, alright, just you know,
because hey, hey, Rob g Joe Burrow don't exist with Carrie.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
I ain't hear it?

Speaker 4 (13:31):
No, he does, he does. I love Joe, I said,
you said to Patrick Mahomes. Anyway, Lamar, let me tell
you about Lamar. If we flip flopped the flop of
the flip, why wouldn't Patrick because Lamar, h yeah, I
mean you are here, and you're the embodiment of uh yeah,
you are the You're the embodiment of Rob Parker right now.

(13:51):
I feel like he's here right now. Do you feel
that that's the only black quarterback you like?

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Is Lamar? I got some more because we got to
go on that list some more. We'll come back. We're
gonna get a little bit more and then of this.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
But That's my big takeaway is that it's a credit
to Patrick Mahomes and the success he had. You just
talked about the style he played, the flair, the hair,
the winning and I remember the super Bowl run they
made against the Niners. He was down ten points in
every single game and all of us went, yeah, they
probably gonna still win. I don't know I feel that

(14:24):
way about Lamar. I don't know I feel that way
about Josh shyl Now. And I'm you know, obviously it's
a game by game meeting. I have to see it.
Are they down ten early? They got a whole forty
five minutes last? Okay, cool is it? But I'm just
saying Patrick Mahomes was the only guy. We're like, how
much time left? Thirteen seconds against the bill whatever it was. Oh,
for sure, Yes he can still win this. And he
reminds me of Steph Curry. Steph Curry, last point here

(14:45):
we got to break. Steph Curry is the only shot.
This is when I get in the arguments with Rob No,
I know.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
You've never made a game.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Okay, he's not made one game winner that you like, Yeah,
but he's made every other shot I've ever seen. He's
the first person has n't going up to get a drink,
going up to get some and guak real quick with
four seconds left, three seconds left on the clock, two
seconds left on the clock, and he's got to go
to full length of the court. He's the only person
in the history of NBA posial hold on. He's shooting
from that free throw line all the way over there,

(15:13):
and you stop, Carrie Rose, don't you hold on?

Speaker 3 (15:17):
There's a chance the thing might go in.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Steph Curry the only player, and Patrick Mahomes has a
little bit of that where you're like, hold on this,
he's down, what is it? Okay, let me see him
even in the Super Bowl? You're like, all right, if
they can to stump here, there might be something to this,
all right? Eight seven, seven ninety nine one Fox. You
want to get in on this, this rankings that they have.
Essentially we got down to the top five. And some
people may take offense to this, saying, hey, Patrick Mahomes

(15:39):
has not played his best football as of yet, or
maybe you feel they got it right with him being
number one again and there's some more guys on this list. Again,
maybe you're like Carry and Phil, Hey, it's not that
he had to necessarily be number one, But why is
he in the position? And he's in I'm gonna read
the list again and then you can call in if
you choose number one. Was Mahomes number two, Josh Allen

(15:59):
number three, Joe Burrow number four, Lamar Jacksonber five, Jay
and Daniels, Stafford, Herbert Golf, Hurtz, Mayfield a round out
the ten. We'll take those calls. It is the Odkable
carry in for Rob. It is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Right's right, we live on the Fall with Rob Parker
now on the speaker phone from Magic City.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Wait, Rob, well we can't hear you.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Huh, it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
It's crazy, I said, all flat. I can't believe it.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
Ah, it is the odd couple. Kelvin Washington, carry Rose
in for Rob. Rob enjoying little home run derby Little
Magic City and then a low All Star game tomorrow
out there in Atlanta. So hopefully he's enjoying himself, all right,
Achy knee stiff, back joints not cooperating. Some days your
body carries just like body ain't dealing with it on

(17:36):
those days. Luckily there's a leave with just one pill.
A leave provides up to twelve hours of pain relief
so you can keep moving, so use as directed. There's that,
all right, Quickly we got it up against it here.
We got Brandon scoop b Robinson who did get some
scoops on Lebron. We'll talk a little bit about that
with him in just a moment. Some teams that might
be interested for the King's services. And we got was

(18:00):
trending here coming up in a minute. But Lamar Jackson
fourth second time on this list of top quarterbacks top
you know that they've done yep, seventy exacts, anonymous exacts,
GMS as well as scouts.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Fourth You all right with that?

Speaker 5 (18:15):
Yeah, I mean, I'm alright with I'm alright with it
because I'm sure that list it would be if it
was the top player in the NFL, it'll be Lamar Jackson.
Quarterbacking is a different skill set, and so I can
see why people have their you know whatever, have their
thoughts on the top four. Right The top four in
my mind really really is interchangeable. But when you talk

(18:36):
about Lamar Jackson and the stuff that he does as
a quarterback and as a player, you want to see
improvement every year.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
The guy improves every year.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
And I think that's the thing where I have, you know,
my reservations with the list, right k doub It's like,
all right, yes, we know Patrick Mahomes and in the
run when they were winning Super Bowl and he just
went last year he did, but winning them like, you
can look at that guy on the field not just
only the best quarterback but the best player in the
league when he.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Was doing that.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
Now he's almost plateaud right now until I see something different.
That's where I'm at, right now it's like, Okay, you
come out and you hit somebody with your fastest serve,
your fastest pitch right out the gate, and people are like, wow,
we're a stunnist. Like I can see that this dude's different.
What's his what's his change up? What's what's his second pitch?

(19:27):
And I think that's what we got to see from
I think Patrick mahomes right now because the second pitch
last year it wasn't that great.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Oh no.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
But when you look at Lamar's second pitch, at first,
he was just a running quarterback, right. This is this
is what people said, which he never really was. But
this is what's the thing. What has he done? He
came out and showed them that, No, I can slow
down and stop running, and I can improve in the pocket.
I can make all the throws on the outside. What
else do you want from me? When you look at
that guy last year, he was the best quarterback in

(19:57):
the league. Dude, I've said it a man, this is
why we were getting ready break. I said, I've screened
he's the best player in the NFL. If you're asking
me just simply, who's the best player who going into
this year? Do I expect to get twelve wins minimum
put up. Look at these stats, Carrey, that that Lamar
put up last year. This is coming off the year
he went he won the MVP thirty six hundred yards,

(20:17):
twenty four touchdown, seven interceptions.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
The year before yep, welling, yep.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
But he had forty one hundred, forty one touchdowns, four interceptions,
and that's.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Just the passing.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
And he didn't win the MVP that and didn't win
the EV, which I told Rob he wasn't because human nature,
people are fatigued. Yes, because I think Lamar Jackson is
so gifted and naturally talented and work so hard, and
his style in a week to week he can't plan
for it. Now in a game you might on a playoff, right,
but we got everything all in his all in his
baskets in this one game. On a game to game Sunday,

(20:51):
Sunday might be Thursday, might be a Monday. You can't
stop that. And by the way, he's got a massive
dude behind him getting ready run the football down your throw.
It's ridiculous. So that's just too much. And by the way,
everybody's like, oh, Derek Henry's gonna take some of those
stats away from him.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
No, he only got better.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
And so Lamar Jackson is the best football player to
me right now, yes, which sounds crazy that then the
best quarterback I agree is Patrick Mahons because quarterbacks are
just by wins.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
It's a little different. It's just the facts different.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
And right now I said, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes
are going in an AFC title game.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Now it's we have to see the season. Who's got
the better this who's injured?

Speaker 4 (21:26):
But just off rip, just off my head right and
off the top of my head, I'm taking Patrick mahan.

Speaker 5 (21:31):
And the crazy part, I don't even I don't disagree
with you because that's what we've seen.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (21:35):
Until we see different, we gotta go. And that's the
luxury he has.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
And by the way, one last stat for Patrick Mahomes,
which is I think the key part I should have
let with this earlier. Patrick Mahomes has led all quarterbacks
when it comes to third down completions, his qbrs at
a ninety and his percentage of first downs just fifty
three percent, which means again what drives Rob Parker crazy,
which made him go grayer this year, is that Patrick

(22:02):
Mahomes would make the winning play, might have threw two
interceptions had the ugly game only had a buck fifty
passing yards. But all of a sudden they find themselves
up only up four, and they need this.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
First down the ie to clockout or else they got
a punt it. He's gonna get it. He's gonna get it.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
And that's to me why most people in this this
pole sixty percent put him as number one. Not that
he's the best right now, the most dynamic, but just
simply playing the quarterback position, needing to win, needing to
make a play. He's the guy, all right, Brandon scoop
me Robinson television host, an NBA insider, who got a
scoop when it comes to Lebron and the four teams
interested in him. We're gonna talk to him after Steve,

(22:39):
get your set right now and what's trending, Hay, Steve.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
All right, thank you, Steve.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
My goodness, Well, let's just keep pairing injured guys with
injured guys, and we hope that we have something different.
Let's just keep doing that, all right, Man, it is
the odd couple cover of Washington. We got my man
carry Rose, who was in for rob rob out enjoying
the home run derby right there. Well, I'm sure if
I check his Instagram, he'll have some pictures. My guys,
I know everywhere he's eating, every person he's met in

(23:14):
the last forty eight hours.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
I know what he's wearing. Everything.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
Joining us now, Brandon, Scoop be Robinson because he do
be getting the scoops television hosts of NBA.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Inside there, Scoop, what's up? Man?

Speaker 7 (23:28):
Working my tailoff? How y'all doing?

Speaker 3 (23:30):
We're doing good?

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Man? Of course you are working your tailoff. You always
saw man. If you follow him, you see that he's
always working doing something. It might not even be basketball.
He could be just pulling up to an entertainment event.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
You never know. Oh he's in the mix like that.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
He's in a mix like that, man, And I'm sure
I'll see him in Cleveland and ABJ Brandon. Man, just
let's get into this. Four teams interested in Lebron tell
us who they are and where this all came.

Speaker 7 (23:53):
About So the teams that I was told were Cavaliers, Clippers, Mavericks,
and Warriors, and they're interested, but there's a lot of
work that has to be done before anything happens.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
Now when you get these you get these teams that
are interested. What level of you said a lot of
work to be done, It's just just let me just
go out there and make it. It's like back when
you were in high school and you tried to get
the one girl you knew you couldn't get, you know,
let me just.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Call her and just see.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
You never know or is this actually something feasible that
could actually happen.

Speaker 7 (24:23):
Well, first and foremost that one girl. I was putting
in work to.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
Get this, But.

Speaker 7 (24:31):
You go get you what I'm saying. But in actuality,
this is what I'll tell you. I wrote a piece
over at my blog at scoopy dot com about a
week and a half ago, and I actually detailed the
conversation that Lebron James and Kyrie Irving had on the
phone where Kyrie was essentially trying to get Lebron James

(24:51):
to come to Dallas, and the end of that conversation
with Lebron telling Kyrie I'll think about it, and it's
two years later and you're looking at Lebron James opting
into a deal with the Lakers. First of all, you
have to secure your bag, but there's a lot of questions.
Number one, just the direction of what the where the
Lakers are going. Luka Doncic is obviously a world class talent,

(25:13):
so with Lebron. Lebron is getting older, but you could
see that the shifts and the tides are turning as
it relates to just where they're going. I know that
Dallas does have interest as well as the Cleveland Cavaliers.
I think those are the two most realistics teams based
upon conversations that I've had until that has been discussed
with me. But it's a matter of how you get

(25:35):
Lebron there. You'd have to do quite a bit in
order to make that happen. Now, if you look at
the Dallas Mavericks, there's a lot of similiarity there. Head
coach Jason Kidd was part of that bubble team. Frank
bobul is an assistant there. Phil Handy, you got Kyrie Irvindale,
you have the nfthdy Davis did is a lot. Kyrie
wasn't on that Lakers team, but of course familiarity there,
but there would be some pieces that you'd have to

(25:56):
move to the Lakers in order to make that happen.
Cleveland is intriguing, But as it relates to just the
four teams that contacted Rich Paul, I'm told that those
were the four teams that did reach out to him.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Well, Brendan, yes, all that sounds great. Just keep them
away from Dallas, That's all I'll say. But moving why yet?

Speaker 5 (26:12):
No, I'm I'm a Maverick fan, and I know if
Lebron comes that situation just it's gonna blow it up
because obviously, if it's not a buyout situation, you're getting
rid of so many key rotation pieces that it just
I don't know, it just doesn't really make sense to me.

Speaker 7 (26:26):
So it answer to your question, yeah, I think Ron
having one year left on his deal, I look at
it kind of. I looked at it a year ahead.
So we've already seen a proof of concept where we
see Briddy James be drafted by the Lakers and they
able to play with his dad realistically and futuristically. If

(26:47):
I'm Lebron James, I take this last year to do
a farewell to tour in Los Angeles. Yes, see where
my son goes in the draft and signed with that team.
I think that that creates the perfect stept and it
does something for Lebron in a healthy way that I

(27:07):
don't think Kobe was able to do because of the
Achilles injury and just the way the Lakers were going
at the time when he retired. I think that if
that's what he's looking to do, or move on and
go to a championship contender, I feel like he has
the space to do it. So say the Denver Nuggets
hypothetically draft Bright, So say you know, Memphis or any team.

(27:29):
I think that that would make the most sense for
him to go out and bow out gracefully.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
What do you say, Well, so, I'm glad you said.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
And by the way, again Brandon Scoop b Robinson television hosts,
an NBA insider, Scoop B on X and social media,
I've been saying usually, obviously rob is here and he
wants to He can't wait for Lamar to goal with
I mean Lamar, for Lebron to go away. He can't
wait for him to move on. Whereas I'm saying, dude,
I don't care what you think. He's sticking around for Bryce.
At this point, Lebron is blazing trails. He knows rings.

(27:59):
I can't catch Jordan, so I have to do things.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Jordan.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
I have won a championship now for three different franchises.
I've won in each conference. You know what I mean.
I'm the points leader. I've spoken up on things that
mattered in the community. And then you know for black
folks that maybe Jordan didn't do. He's finding all these
different ways to try to lead him. And one of
them he can say, I didn't just play with my son,

(28:23):
which is crazy enough. I played with them on the
same team, and I might play with my other son
on the same team or potentially it is not crazy, Scoop,
all three of them play together. The Lakers have what
one more year with with with the Browny.

Speaker 7 (28:41):
It's a three year deal. I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
Two year, it's a four okay, four year deal.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Okay, but if he plays with both sons, I mean,
maybe Bryce separately and can say check check out played well.
But I mean again, he's doing he checking boxes that
it's crazy. I think that's his last motivation. And sure
if I accidentally want to win a title on the team. Great,
I think is more motivation is at this point play
with Bryce and I'm done.

Speaker 7 (29:05):
I think the great big d small set it best.
Not only am I the client, I'm the player president.
He's done it his way. Seriously, like all joking aside,
I get that reference, but in all actuality, I think
you really saw Lebron when he was taking shorter deals
all the way back to his first in Cleveland, Like
he's always been calculated on yes terms, and so he

(29:29):
has a track working with that. Like Lebron is not
that hard to figure out usually, like you know when
he's getting ready to leave, or you know when something
is that the tide is about the shift, Like you
knew in that last year in Miami it was coming.
You knew that last year in Cleveland it was coming.
Because that's the while typically Lebron playing on a team
it lasts about three to four years, the Lakers is

(29:51):
the longest tenure. A lot of people scratching their head
and like what's next, and Luca being there is kind
of the riding on the wall in a way that
you've never really seen before. But I think being a
player for hire that's still healthy. I think that's genius
to be able to crash and have a deal that
is termed on your urns. I mean, Michael on the

(30:14):
Wizards wasn't even that calculated.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
Right, No, Bron, you know it's crazy. My whole thing
was finish it out in LA. Obviously it didn't go.
I think it's been underwhelming this time in La.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Right.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
Obviously they got the Bubble Championship, but people expected more.
They expected a couple of rings from Lebron here in
LA that didn't happen.

Speaker 7 (30:31):
I think they didn't. Slippers did, that's.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
For sure, but I don't.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
I think they were expecting one more from the Lakers
at least. But in my mind, I see like a
fairy tale ending happening with him, and I think it
would be one of those things that would actually be
a good story for Lebron to finish his career, to
go back to Cleveland one more time with the team
that has a chance to win in the East.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
It's wide open. I think about that scenario a lot.

Speaker 7 (30:55):
Listen, Lebron leaving Cleveland both times made the team better.
If you remember when he left the first time, Yeah,
he said he went to the Miami Heat. They got
Tristan Thompson and Kyrie in the draft, and then they
he leaves Cleveland again and they end up later on
getting Donovan Mitchell twisted, Thompson comes back and you know,

(31:17):
you got a competitive team, and so for Lebron to
come back again and to win it all. I've always
looked at that as a storybook ending in a way
comparatively that Iverson did not have that same return in
Philadelphia comparatively, or you know you you even like to
see later on in his career Damian Lillards have a

(31:38):
similar ending like that. Like, I think certain people just
deserve that ending and they have that relationship with the community.
I'd ultimately like to see that in Cleveland with Bryce.

Speaker 4 (31:49):
Here's the problem though, and we got to we're up
against it, so we got to know ended here. But
I think the issue with that is if this were
the Cavs with those Kyrie years when Lebron left and
they were just struggling and they didn't have anything cool,
it looks great, we'll get extra fans, butts and seats
and sell some merchandise. Right this team is actually competing
and with the way the East to set up right now.
I don't think you want to mess up the chemistry

(32:09):
and what you're trying to build, right because that okay,
in order to get them, we gotta trade, we gotta
do this, and what if you get and you mess
around and okay, we did that for one year. Now
we're all jacked up for another decade. And so I
think for go ahead, Scoop.

Speaker 7 (32:19):
Which is why I think Dallas is more of a
perfect fit.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
If not, well, I'm listening, I'm sitting next to Carry
and every time you say it, Carrie starts twitching.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
So he don't like hearing that.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
Man, Scoot, appreciate you as always, Brandon, Scooby Robbins, make
sure you get him. Go ahead and follow him, Scoop
beee on socials. Thank you man, thank you too. All Right,
we got Player of the day on the way. And
Rob isn't here for a reason. The event that he's
at is it the best event, best exhibition. We'll explain
it is the akable carry in for Rob. Fox Sports Radio.

Rob Parker on the Magic City Monday. Down there in Atlanta.
It's the couple Kevin Washings to carry in four Rob
and Rob will be back Wednesday. He's enjoying some time

(33:22):
down in Atlanta. Of course, NBA at the home run Derby.
We'll talk about that here in just a little bit,
and of course All Star Game tomorrow, so he'll be
enjoying himself over the next few days. Don't forget coming
up in the show a little bit later on Uh,
it's nine thirty for you on the East coast, it'll
be six thirty for us here on the West. We're
gonna have a conversation with Daniel Kelly, author of former

(33:43):
NFL Scout New York Jets. Talk some football there right now.
It is signed for your Play of the Day.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
A second championship point for Yannick Cenna.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
I'm fires down the middle. He's done it.

Speaker 6 (33:57):
Yannick Cenna is the winner of whom Alone, the first.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Italian ever Wimbledon Radio.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
There you got Center getting his first Wimbledon, first Italian
and him and Alcoraz are just pretty much gonna be
back and forth for the night.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
They're so young, and obviously things can happen. You could
get in the bad rut where you you know, somebody
else creeps up. But for right now, it looks like
we got at least some half a decade of them
two going back and forth for one and two, one
and two, back and forth for a long time.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Are you a tennis person? Joy?

Speaker 4 (34:24):
Yeah, I was just saying, Rob Jenas, I might have
to save this for one's gotta go for Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Might have to save this. Let me saving anything.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
I'm in the building this once. My kids either don't
care about me enough meeting high school aid or you
know anything, you can go and do your thing, or
they're just completely out the house. I would love a
year of hitting all the majors, So hitting the Australian Open,
the Wimbledon, US Open, and the French Open in one year,

(34:54):
in one year, in one year, you know. Now again
it might maybe it's four years one a year kind.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Of thing, but in one year. This is not helping
your case to be a regular African student.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
No, it is definitely not. No, no, no, You're gonna
be gone, you know what I mean? You will not
have enough time to first of.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
All, to do all your duty. I don't have any money,
but I want to travel across the globe to watch,
so I have ten to fifteen years to accumulate. Said, well,
that's a cooking dream, that's a couple that's a couple
of flexes. Today you're not.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
I'm just gonna drop everything I'm doing and travel the world,
you know, And it's a couple of years.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
You can mask, you can master a lot if they're
not at all. That's the funniest part. I just got
cussed out today. I just told you that my wife
about something she didn't like something. You know, that the
way i'd handle something right back, And of all the
people robbery who I know can't talk, it would be you, sir.

Speaker 3 (35:43):
To my left.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
I haven't said anything though, you know, it's crazy. No,
I was sitting at here, we got the US open.
On my left was Oprah, on my right was Jeff Bezos.
It was crazy. We were just talking about the oh
below us was uh Elon Pree before him going crazy And.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
I was just about to say all that could have
been true. But you know, Jeff Paul wasn't in my
radar at the time. He wasn't big enough at the time,
and John Legend, John Legend was gonna he couldn't make it.
We had a seat say for him too. He had
a performance at Carnegie. He didn't want to sit around
ordinary pepeat it.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Yeah, you like that, got black, that one you got back?

Speaker 2 (36:21):
That one?

Speaker 3 (36:21):
All right, that's pretty much the show for today. All right,
Well I let you all tomorrow. Well played. All right,
So we got the home run Derby going on right now.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
Uh, you heard Steven Sagre getting you kind of updated
on who's who's gonna be hitting, who's going to be competing.
And the conversation is, you know, of the exhibition things, exhibits,
whatever you want to call it. You got the dunk contest,
home un Derby got the at this point flag football
when it comes to the Pro Bowl, because I don't
you know, or maybe you love the skills contest and
the skills contest and hockey which kind of lit and

(36:51):
any other one you can think of like that. Yeah,
is this the best one? The home run Derby? Is
this the one? You say, man, this is the one
I pay attention to the most. It's the most exciting
for you. No, it isn't and suspense me day.

Speaker 5 (37:05):
No, I'm gonna tell you though, I'm gonna tell you
why cale because it's one of those things where it
is a skill set. I actually really care about the
All Star Game the game because number one, it's a
game and it's an exhibition, but it's also skill on skill. Right,
I'm the I'm the best pitcher in the league. I'm
going to strike out Aaron Judge, the best hitter in

(37:26):
the league. Like, there's still some competition, competition energy there
in that game that makes it fun. The home run
derby back in the day epic. Now it just doesn't
have that same flare for me. I think if I
was Rob Manford, i'd say why Yeah, I would say
because number one, the top guys always always did it.

(37:46):
That's not that contest exact, No, it's similar, right, So
like the top guys always did it, Now that's not
the case. And I think we've also seen that in
the home run Derby. It affects those hitters when they
come back after all. True, Oh they don't do it.
It's not the same to me.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
All that swing and yet the answer for me is no,
and not in the sense that it's boring. It's just
it doesn't really resonate were When you get a great
dunk contest, you'll remember forever, remember that one, Dominique Jordan,
I remember both of them. Oh remember Vince Carters was crazy?
Remember Aaron Gordon? And and uh and who I miss
Blake no no e, Zach Levine twice. Yes, that's right,

(38:23):
Lake Griffin jumping over Kia. You know, you can go
on and on and on. So to me, when you
get a great dunk contest, that's the one. To me,
now we surely ain't had one in a little bit.
Is clinging to all of these zac on titles. Zach Now,
we got job, we got we got Zach. All these
guys saying they're gonna do it in Zion.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
You know what I say. They're lying, They're lyon. They
ain't doing it.
