You know what I mean? And I feel like Ben Johnson,
ultimately right or wrong. When you're the coach, you're the
most expendable. Between that and a star quarterback. Now, if
he's just a quarterback, just a guy, that's different. But
if he's the guy we're invested in the whole town
is this is our guy? The city is? Do we
finally have one of those ones? Can we finally have
the greatest bear quarterback in sixty years? Then you gotta

be fixing this because if Kayleb Williams is just a
better version, slightly better version of last year, and let's
say some progress, and let's say they end up you know,
it's not even crazy, but they're ten and seven nine,
then that's good for him and they're heading in the
right direction. Ben Johnson can't afford to not be because
then you're expendable like they can at least go he's

getting better. Things are going right, we're winning more. What's

Now, speaking a quarterbacks, one team, and one franchise that
has similarly putrid reputation when it comes to the quarterback
position is the Cleveland Browns.

I know that you know he hates me right now,

Yesterday there's a four way battle for the quarterback position,
you know, between Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Dylan Gabriel, and
Shador Sanders. Shador Satders famously is not getting a single
rep with the ones, but only one of the four
who was not And when they asked him about it today, Chaudeur,
to his credit, a Number one, don't think it's a
question for me. I don't think I'm the kind of
guy who should be answering that question. That's for somebody else.

But number two, it's just not in my control. I'm
gonna focus what I can focus on control what I
can control, let the rest worry about later.

What are they doing in Cleveland? Man, you just mentioned it.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Isn't it funny that we're talking about two franchises that
have never gotten a quarterback position, right, or at least
for the most part. You know, that's just always been
a challenge for these these franchises. So to me, it
shows me that this is not an easy thing, right
to get done for them, at least to have not
had a sustained run of greatness at that position. Because
you can name, for instance that the Lions weren't the greatest,

but you saw we all went, oh, Matthew Staffords that
got that wasn't debatable. Right now, you see Jared goff
to the tune of fifteen to two, and you're for
the first time you're the lines. You're just pointing, not
a super Bowl. I can go down the Packers. They
ain't had but three quarterbacks in one hundred and seventy
five years. Point is, people are you've had a run
with some quarterbacks and these two teams have struggled with that.
I mean, so when I look at the Browns, I

don't know what they're doing. When you drafted guys higher
than they we predicted. Dylan Gabriel, you go out of
your way to get Kenny Pickett when he was already
struggling with the Steelers, and you trade for him, but
then you bring back your flack. Oh you who you
could have had, but you let him go, And then
you go get your door, who, by all accounts to

your point, has done everything asked of him in a
sense that he's he's played very well. Now, I wasn't
with the ones, but hey, I can't be with the
ones if you're not gonna put me with the ones
and then also answering questions right handle himself, and it
seems like they're just kind of determining no, nah, nah,
he's gonna stay there in this position. Meanwhile, Rob g
I ain't heart, good, bad, or indifferent from Dylan Gabriel.

If I told you he wasn't even know that's a
fact that Now that is the part where I would
talk to Shador. Hey, bro goin to find out as
the second one we did it twice. We did it twice,
then that's bad. But I honestly don't know what they're doing.
And I think this is they're gonna mess around and
either fail into something good or somebody's gonna be that bad,
and they then they got to put your door in there.

He ends up being good. They go, that was the
game plan, we knew it, or they're gonna ruin this situation.
But I'll say this, and none know you're gonna go
they have I think they're gonna another saying they're not
gonna keep four.

Joe Flack, just move on, give it to Kenny Pickett

first they do every year. We know going into next season,
the New Orleans Saints are gonna suck point play period facts.

We know going into next season, the Carolina Panther's not
going to be any good. No, we know going into
next season it's a high probability that both of the
New York Tames are gonna be terrible.

Possible, I'm with you, possible, high probability. The Jets always
a jetson. Maybe, but they have at least a slim
chance of being least decent.

So the Cleveland Browns play in what I would consider,
if not the best, arguably the best division in football.
The Baltimore Ravens, Andi Bengals have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, their quarterback thinks apparently that they are
in the inner circle of you talking about contenders. The
Cleveland Browns, I believe, are aware that, Hey, we know

what Kenny Pickett is. If we have him under center
at best, we're six and eleven, seven and ten type
team Joe Flacco. Even if we can make the playoffs
with him, we know what the ceiling is. We saw
that two years ago, and we know we can't count
on it moving forward because he's eighty seven years old.

So what we're gonna do is.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
We're gonna deliberately suppress Shadeur Sanders because on the off
chance that this lottery ticket is as good as advertised,
and he messes around and gets us eight wins, nine wins,
and we end up picking in the twenties or in
the high teens that has nothing for us. So what
we're gonna do is we're gonna act like we don't
know who our quarterback is. I mean, it could be
this guy, it could be that we might carry four quarterbacks.

Shador is never gonna practice with the ones. But it's
not because of him. It's because, you know, it's a
lot of things going on. What I think they're trying
to do is set the table so that they can
be okay to start off with one in three, two
and two and then immediately pull the rip cord and say, hey,
it's a race to the bottom and we can't let
New Orleans beat us. We are on the march for Arch.

of the Steelers.

Now it's so weird. Aaron Rodgers too. Not that not
that the Jets felt right, but I was gonna say
any bet Hillers Jets, well.

At least with the Jets you had, you know, you
kind of knew as bad, so you had that lot
of Jets and Aaron Rodgers now I was like, oh,
he's at the student I don't know what to this
is weird. Aaron Rodgers now had some thoughts about the
team and kind of where they fare as far as
Super Bowl aspirations.

and finally Lamar and then the NFC you go, well,
live it up for the Ranning Champs and the Eagles.
Maybe the Homer me, but you maybe say the Lions,
and maybe you say the Commanders. Maybe those are kind
of the three and maybe the Rams would say, hey,

don't forget about us. Point is, once you getting into
ten to twelve, what and the everybody gets a participation
anticipation trophy, blue ribbon is going on. Aaron Rodgers, you
were one of the greatest of all time, one of

consensus of who the best teams are. Here are the
teams that are listed ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers in
the Super Bowl Lots Cayler Williams and the Bears, who
we just mentioned went one for ten passing in the
red zone and through multiple interceptions, can't even get put

the playo on time.

Yeah, and you're supposed to be like the better version
of what he exactly Yeah, Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, Alex,
I need to hold up, hold up. That cannot be
ahead of you.

Who famously spent more time playing Call of Duty than
he did on his playbook that they had to put
a clause in his contract for it. That's okay, ahead

You got rid of your running back who had a
thousand yards and looked solid. But your quarterback situation has
been bad since Ben Roethlisberger, the last few years of him,
and now you're putting it all on Aaron Rodgers like

Wat's been amazing. Guess what, You still ain't want a
playoff game? That's crazy.

By the way, You've got the best defender, arguably of
his generation of his generation, or at least when if
you want to go MOUs.

But he's in the conversation.

In the conversation, you're known to have great defense, You've
made something out of nothing.

that can't be what you do Steelers. And this is
why I yelled at Rob for so long about this.

I actually don't think he's going to suck. I don't
think he's going to be horrible. I just don't think
he gets you over the top, not in the AFC,

NFC's better than AFC. Y'all ain't ready for that conversation.

By the way, can we just say that Aaron Rodgers
the guy they put all their eggs in the basket,
coming off a situation where he had better receivers number
one and number two, had an offensive system that was
catered to him. He's not gonna have that in Pittsburgh.

Bro I told Jared ball that yesterday.

Yeah, last season, Aaron Rodgers thirty first the NFL, just
a QBR twenty first impasser rating, and it was the
fourth time in his career that he threw double digit interceptions.
And Aaron Rodgers is playing football since his stone age.

And now he's with a team that has not been
great with the quarterbacks. Yep, to the tune of Russell
Wilson having beefs with the quarterback coach and to the
two of them getting rid of Russell Wilson. They got
rid of Justin Fields, who was playing well, not great,
was playing well four and two, ten in touchdowns, one interception,
they got rid of him. And so again, I don't
know that this is a better situation, and it's a
new situation. You mentioned the familiarity of the receiving core

that they brought in for him with the Jets, the
offensive structure, his guy in Hackett, you know, bringing in
my entire environment that I know, Allan Lazar Rounds, all
the guys, all that comfortable, Devontae Adams of it, Vante Adams,
and then now we don't do great. The numbers would
that he had the ugly twin of Patrick Mahomes.

Yeah, the numbers were the.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Exact same very simple, as Rob likes to scream, except
for a couple of key ones. When you look at
Patrick Mahomes, he led the NFL in third downs into
touchdown conversions.

That's huge. I think it was fifty three percent if
I'm not mistaken. Yeah, but by the number one name
with a bullet not even close. Yep. Yeah, And that's Hugh.

That's the winning play that a quarterback, and that's historically Aaron.

What you used to do is make those plays.

And Patrick Mahomes knew how to finish the game, and
Aaron doesn't do that anymore. Aaron might even give you
the the ball back to the team tied, but then
they go kick a field, go win, and then Rob
Parker comes, well the defense, Well how about you give
us a lead?

Aaron, how about you go win it.

I feel like you're venting some frustrations to me right now.

The more I look at you, the more you turn
keep turnings to Rob in your name, and you're talking
about Aaron Rodgers person he has he's blinded for So
that's my point. It's just that I don't you're screaming
ten and twelve contenders. No, there's not there's no such
thing as contenders if there's ten and twelve of them. Secondly,
you might have spotted yourself, as you illustrated there, ROGGI,

by putting yourself at ten or twelve, meaning you might
be more like fifteen eighteen. And then again, if that
is what we are, ultimately we go ten and seven,
nine and eight, maybe make the playoffs barely a wild
card and lose in the first round.

Shack deservedly Finals MVP dominant in that run. You know,
