you gotta relax rock Gee sent me you. You hit
me with a question before right before break about.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
So we agree that in order for the Bear and
for Kayler Wingims specifically to reach his potential, he's gota
have to make some adjustments, either him or Ben Jonson's
gotta adjust the way he coaches. Not everything can be
on rhythm, rhythm, on rhythm. He needs to allow his
guy to be his guy. So if we agree they
both need to adjust, which one do you think adjusts first?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I'm gonna tell you who.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I'm gonna answer it by saying who should and or
needs to, and that is Ben Johnson because we know
coaches can go that's a good point. Number one quarterbacks
literally number one picks Heisman winner, a guy who everyone
is projecting to be that guy. Well, then it's you

(01:46):
because you can't say that because if I say Matt Eberfluss,
well he was just bad so he almost that almost
bush him out the way. Now you are supposed to
be that guy. Offensive guru. We saw what you did there.
We had to play you multiple times when you know
the Lions, what's wrong with you? Kevin O'Connell out here
being a quarterback whisper getting everybody, he'd'a got Sam darned

(02:06):
a bunch of money?

Speaker 4 (02:07):
What's up with you?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
You know what I mean? And I feel like Ben Johnson,
ultimately right or wrong. When you're the coach, you're the
most expendable. Between that and a star quarterback. Now, if
he's just a quarterback, just a guy, that's different. But
if he's the guy we're invested in the whole town
is this is our guy? The city is? Do we
finally have one of those ones? Can we finally have
the greatest bear quarterback in sixty years? Then you gotta

(02:30):
be fixing this because if Kayleb Williams is just a
better version, slightly better version of last year, and let's
say some progress, and let's say they end up you know,
it's not even crazy, but they're ten and seven nine,
then that's good for him and they're heading in the
right direction. Ben Johnson can't afford to not be because
then you're expendable like they can at least go he's

(02:51):
getting better. Things are going right, we're winning more. What's
up with you, Ben Johnson? If there's some bumping of heads.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Right, okay, I would agree with that.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Now, speaking a quarterbacks, one team, and one franchise that
has similarly putrid reputation when it comes to the quarterback
position is the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Right, don't do Bernie Czar like that?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Shout out to Bernie Kozar, shout out to Baker Mayfield.
I know that you know he hates me right now,
but we could be friends short key.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, y'all, y'all do got a lot of the same
similar we really do. It's actually really funny. It's a
shame that we're not friends. You need to be him
for Halloween, so you gotsa talk about it.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Yesterday there's a four way battle for the quarterback position,
you know, between Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Dylan Gabriel, and
Shador Sanders. Shador Satders famously is not getting a single
rep with the ones, but only one of the four
who was not And when they asked him about it today, Chaudeur,
to his credit, a Number one, don't think it's a
question for me. I don't think I'm the kind of
guy who should be answering that question. That's for somebody else.

(03:47):
But number two, it's just not in my control. I'm
gonna focus what I can focus on control what I
can control, let the rest worry about later.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
What are they doing in Cleveland? Man, you just mentioned it.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Isn't it funny that we're talking about two franchises that
have never gotten a quarterback position, right, or at least
for the most part. You know, that's just always been
a challenge for these these franchises. So to me, it
shows me that this is not an easy thing, right
to get done for them, at least to have not
had a sustained run of greatness at that position. Because
you can name, for instance that the Lions weren't the greatest,

(04:23):
but you saw we all went, oh, Matthew Staffords that
got that wasn't debatable. Right now, you see Jared goff
to the tune of fifteen to two, and you're for
the first time you're the lines. You're just pointing, not
a super Bowl. I can go down the Packers. They
ain't had but three quarterbacks in one hundred and seventy
five years. Point is, people are you've had a run
with some quarterbacks and these two teams have struggled with that.
I mean, so when I look at the Browns, I

(04:46):
don't know what they're doing. When you drafted guys higher
than they we predicted. Dylan Gabriel, you go out of
your way to get Kenny Pickett when he was already
struggling with the Steelers, and you trade for him, but
then you bring back your flack. Oh you who you
could have had, but you let him go, And then
you go get your door, who, by all accounts to

(05:06):
your point, has done everything asked of him in a
sense that he's he's played very well. Now, I wasn't
with the ones, but hey, I can't be with the
ones if you're not gonna put me with the ones
and then also answering questions right handle himself, and it
seems like they're just kind of determining no, nah, nah,
he's gonna stay there in this position. Meanwhile, Rob g
I ain't heart, good, bad, or indifferent from Dylan Gabriel.

(05:29):
If I told you he wasn't even know that's a
fact that Now that is the part where I would
talk to Shador. Hey, bro goin to find out as
the second one we did it twice. We did it twice,
then that's bad. But I honestly don't know what they're doing.
And I think this is they're gonna mess around and
either fail into something good or somebody's gonna be that bad,
and they then they got to put your door in there.

(05:50):
He ends up being good. They go, that was the
game plan, we knew it, or they're gonna ruin this situation.
But I'll say this, and none know you're gonna go
they have I think they're gonna another saying they're not
gonna keep four.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
They might mess around and keep four quarterbacks. That would
be and be Why draft all of these? You get
what I mean?

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Why bringing old veterans who at this point you know what,
Joe Flack, just move on, give it to Kenny Pickett
and make your door number two in line or Gabriel
number two, like just have that?

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Know that?

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Why invent Joe Flacco? Joe Flacco is a guy you
call off the couch. He's hit at home eating lays
and you say, man, we need a quarterback. You call Joe.
You say, I know he's got four days, yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Four days.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Notice he's coaching his sons a and under league. He's
a football league pee wee.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
But he already has the playbooks.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
He's already ready and he comes home like, why bring
a man if Kenny Pickett is supposed to be the
veteran leader starter guy.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
You tell me, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Everything you said is right and and it's makes total sense.
What I think is that you're looking at it from
the wrong point of view. So you're like, tell me,
why are they doing this? Doesn't make any kind of sense, Like,
what are you doing with four quarterbacks? You already know
what you have in Guinea pick. You know what Joe
Flacco is.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
I believe.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
That the Cleveland Browns are being incompetent on purpose. You
think it's conspiracy, Thank you, Alex. So here's what I
think that they're doing. Here's what I think that they're doing.
We all know there it is. It was late, but
it came. Hey, it was a Williams william pass. It

(07:24):
was a little late, but it got there.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
So we all know.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
You mentioned it yesterday.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
The March for Arch is on for several NFL franchises,
even as early as July twenty fifth. Today, we know,
without even looking at the schedule, without considering, hey, someone
off to a hot start, someone might go worse to
first they do every year. We know going into next season,
the New Orleans Saints are gonna suck point play period facts.

(07:50):
We know going into next season, the Carolina Panther's not
going to be any good. No, we know going into
next season it's a high probability that both of the
New York Tames are gonna be terrible.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Possible, I'm with you, possible, high probability. The Jets always
a jetson. Maybe, but they have at least a slim
chance of being least decent.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
So the Cleveland Browns play in what I would consider,
if not the best, arguably the best division in football.
The Baltimore Ravens, Andi Bengals have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, their quarterback thinks apparently that they are
in the inner circle of you talking about contenders. The
Cleveland Browns, I believe, are aware that, Hey, we know

(08:33):
what Kenny Pickett is. If we have him under center
at best, we're six and eleven, seven and ten type
team Joe Flacco. Even if we can make the playoffs
with him, we know what the ceiling is. We saw
that two years ago, and we know we can't count
on it moving forward because he's eighty seven years old.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
So what we're gonna do is.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
We're gonna deliberately suppress Shadeur Sanders because on the off
chance that this lottery ticket is as good as advertised,
and he messes around and gets us eight wins, nine wins,
and we end up picking in the twenties or in
the high teens that has nothing for us. So what
we're gonna do is we're gonna act like we don't
know who our quarterback is. I mean, it could be
this guy, it could be that we might carry four quarterbacks.

(09:10):
Shador is never gonna practice with the ones. But it's
not because of him. It's because, you know, it's a
lot of things going on. What I think they're trying
to do is set the table so that they can
be okay to start off with one in three, two
and two and then immediately pull the rip cord and say, hey,
it's a race to the bottom and we can't let
New Orleans beat us. We are on the march for Arch.

(09:32):
He's gonna be a Cleveland Brown.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I love that. I love that conspiracy there, and it's
not crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
We've seen teams do that where you know they're sacrificed
the now for the future and trying to go get
somebody like in Arch, which is so funny that we're
all clamoring if they're all claiming for Arch and we
don't don't really know he's good. We think he's good.
I don't really ain't really play that much yet. I'm
not mad at that. All right, You just mentioned that
other quarterback that has some thoughts about his team. Will
tell you who he is and what he said on
the other side of the update. That is what Steve

(09:57):
the Sega's gonna do.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
Update you now, Hi, Steve, Hello, start with the Major
League Baseball scoreboard one finally in from today. Miami a
winner at Milwaukee five to one as the Brewers offense
went four for thirty one. The Brewers are first in
the NL Central. They were a game over the Cubs
to start the day. The Cubs are about to begin
at the White Sox seven and three show to Imanaga
and All Star on the mound for Chicago Tonight. Dodgers

(10:20):
at Boston, scoreless in the bottom of the first. Dodger
outfielder Mookie Betts exit Boston out for personal reasons, and
Fenway Park's food workers are on strike this weekend. The
Dodgers are first in the NL West, five games up
on San Diego. That lead was nine games over the Padres.
On July third, San Diego in action at Saint Louis.
It's about to start. Orioles with a couple of solo

(10:42):
homers lead the Rockies two nothing in the top of
the second. Those two long balls off starter Kyle Freeland.
He's two and ten for Colorado. The Rockies have a
record of twenty six and seventy six. Yankees out to
a one nothing lead on the Phillies bottom of the second,
Cody Bellinger with a solo home run. All so underway
Blue Jays at Tigers Toronto, the first place team in

(11:03):
the AL East four and a half games over the Yankees.
Boston is six and a half back. By the way,
the Yankees acquired third baseman Ryan McMahon from the Rockies
for two A ball pitchers. The Mets traded four lefty
reliever Gregory Soto from the Orioles for two minor league
pitchers to the MLS. Miami's Lionel Messi was suspended one
game for missing the All Star Game last Wednesday, as

(11:25):
was his teammate Jordi Albo, So they're each out Saturday.
A reminder in women's soccer. The Eurofinal is Sunday on
Fox TV noon Eastern Time, Spain, the defending World Cup
champion against England, which won the last Euro tournament. Three
WNBA games tonight, including the late game. The Golden State
Vaalcries hosting the Dallas Wings. Golden State All star Kayla

(11:45):
Thornton out for the season after knee surgery. The Bengals
signed first round pass rusher Shamar Stewart to a reported
guaranteed contract. In a concession, Stuart gets more of his
signing bonus up front. The Falcons signed wide receiver djh Ic.
Viking swide receiver Justin Jefferson will miss part of camp
with a strange hamstring.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
It is said to be mild back to you all right, Steve,
thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Just the odd couple kelvin Washington, and we got Rob
g in for Rob on this funky flashback Friday.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
Appreciate you all hanging with us.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
I want to get into more quarterback talk Aaron Rodgers
of the Steelers.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
Now it's so weird. Aaron Rodgers too. Not that not
that the Jets felt right, but I was gonna say
any bet Hillers Jets, well.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
At least with the Jets you had, you know, you
kind of knew as bad, so you had that lot
of Jets and Aaron Rodgers now I was like, oh,
he's at the student I don't know what to this
is weird. Aaron Rodgers now had some thoughts about the
team and kind of where they fare as far as
Super Bowl aspirations.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Here's what he had to say.

Speaker 6 (12:39):
I think that, you know, there's really only six to
eight they really have a legitimate chance. Sometimes it's ten
to twelve and there's teams to surprise you. But I
would say on paper, were probably one of those ten
to twelve.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
First of all, is he starting to sound a little
more current froggy? The froggy like like the sad one
miss piggy like when he sings.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
He was giving me a little cur run that back
real quick out it just really with it.

Speaker 6 (13:01):
I think there's really only six to eight.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
No enthusiasm.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
I know, well, because well when you're the ten to
twelve best team, rob g All right, let me let
me start here. Usually we have about I would say
six teams that we think have a shot. And by
what I mean I split that up three in each
conference that you kind of go Chiefs, Ravens Bills, Right,

(13:28):
you kind of those are Okay.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
I guess somebody picked one of those teams. You're like,
I don't know if I would agree by ain't mad.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Yeah, I absolutely see why Josh Allen finally gets over
the hump. I'm absolutely this is just what Patrick Mahomes does. Sure,
and finally Lamar and then the NFC you go, well,
live it up for the Ranning Champs and the Eagles.
Maybe the Homer me, but you maybe say the Lions,
and maybe you say the Commanders. Maybe those are kind
of the three and maybe the Rams would say, hey,

(13:52):
don't forget about us. Point is, once you getting into
ten to twelve, what and the everybody gets a participation
anticipation trophy, blue ribbon is going on. Aaron Rodgers, you
were one of the greatest of all time, one of
the best of your era, one of the best ever.
Don't tell me about No. Ten and no twelves, nothing

(14:13):
about you should be double digits unless it's the wins.
How many wins? I think we're getting twelve wins. That's
what I want to hear. I don't want to hear
about you telling me Yeah, I mean I think we
fall into ten and twelve. First off, that's how you feel.
Do me a favor, tell me that what me and
you are in and out having a burger, and don't
tell the public that. I know we want honesty from athletes.

(14:34):
I don't want you to be that honest. Ten to twelve,
then you don't have a shot. ROGI and you set
eight six to eight?

Speaker 4 (14:42):
Yeah, you know, be caun. We named the three on
each other.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
And if you want to add in, like I said,
the Rams within the NFC, and then you want to
add in maybe the Chargers or something, Mangals or something. Okay,
I'm with you. But to say ten to twelve teams
have a chance to win the Super Bowl, I don't
buy that. This is in baseball where we do get
random teams that win.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
You know.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
This is not the WNBA or so, I like, where
are you coming up with this? Ten to twelve teams?

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Now?

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Will they'll be good teams? Yes? I think the Broncos
should be good. I think the Packers should be good,
you know, but I don't think they're legitimate teams. Where
we're sitting here as you and I are, you talk
about who are the real Super Bowl contenders, they're not
ten to twelve, Because if you're telling me twelve contenders
and you're telling me there aren't any you get what

(15:26):
I mean, And they're telling me it's just wide open.
Then if you're telling me it's ten to twelve, if
you give me eight, I'll give you that. In the
NBA coming up, you kind of know the six seven
teams at most that kind of have a you know,
like two or three in the NBABA three double aprons
on people, then you kind of knew. Am I wrong
for thinking I don't want to hear my star quarterback,

(15:48):
the one who's supposed to by the way we put
everything on this one year? You're not thirty five?

Speaker 4 (15:54):
He said that this is probably his last season, So this.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Is your last season. You're telling me we're ten and
twelve win contending for nothing.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
In an effort to gas up his team, Aaron Rodgers
inadvertently admitted their mid He's like, you know what, I
think we're pretty good. I think we're somewhere around five
hundred Wait what wait what?

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Like what we put it all on the house on
you for us to be that.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
And you know what's funny is I'm looking at the
fan dual Super Bowl future hoze. Now this is an
exact science, but it gives you an idea of relative
consensus of who the best teams are. Here are the
teams that are listed ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers in
the Super Bowl Lots Cayler Williams and the Bears, who
we just mentioned went one for ten passing in the
red zone and through multiple interceptions, can't even get put

(16:38):
the playo on time.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Yeah, and you're supposed to be like the better version
of what he exactly Yeah, Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, Alex,
I need to hold up, hold up. That cannot be
ahead of you.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Who famously spent more time playing Call of Duty than
he did on his playbook that they had to put
a clause in his contract for it. That's okay, ahead
of them my arch nemesis, Baker Mayfield, and it's top
Bay Buccaneers.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
I'm not mad at Back.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
I'm not mad at that either, but like ahead of them, Broncos, Texans, Chargers, Bengals. Like,
just looking at this Super Bowl odds in the AFC,
there may be.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Ten or twelve according to this.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
What are we doing?

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Aaron see and this is where you say, what are
we doing?

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Aaron? And I wish you were Rob Parker so I
can yell at you even more and tell what are
we doing? Steelers? That's the bigger point for me, Rob
g that's your one year all right, baby, we're all
in city boys. We are city boys trying to be up.
City boys are down. Your quarterback is a closer to
AARP than he is college. Your quarterback is two years

(17:47):
removed for an achilles, which I'm not saying that's two
years ago. But my point is things don't get better
health wise as your age.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Nope.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
You got rid of your start, your best receiver, and
I get it, he was a headache at times, but
you're bringing a new one that's a whole new system.
You got rid of your running back who had a
thousand yards and looked solid. But your quarterback situation has
been bad since Ben Roethlisberger, the last few years of him,
and now you're putting it all on Aaron Rodgers like
here we go. TJ.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Wat's been amazing. Guess what, You still ain't want a
playoff game? That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
By the way, You've got the best defender, arguably of
his generation of his generation, or at least when if
you want to go MOUs.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
But he's in the conversation.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
In the conversation, you're known to have great defense, You've
made something out of nothing.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Sometimes I'll give him that.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
The fact that they would win nine or ten games,
I didn't see that that y'all pulled that out. But
that can't be what you do Steelers. And this is
why I yelled at Rob for so long about this.
It's not that I think Aaron Rodgers. By the way,
I actually don't think he's going to suck. I don't
think he's going to be horrible. I just don't think
he gets you over the top, not in the AFC,

(18:56):
especially not in the ANC boards. By the way, the
NFC's better than AFC. Y'all ain't ready for that conversation.

Speaker 3 (19:00):
By the way, can we just say that Aaron Rodgers
the guy they put all their eggs in the basket,
coming off a situation where he had better receivers number
one and number two, had an offensive system that was
catered to him. He's not gonna have that in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Bro I told Jared ball that yesterday.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Yeah, last season, Aaron Rodgers thirty first the NFL, just
a QBR twenty first impasser rating, and it was the
fourth time in his career that he threw double digit interceptions.
And Aaron Rodgers is playing football since his stone age.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
And now he's with a team that has not been
great with the quarterbacks. Yep, to the tune of Russell
Wilson having beefs with the quarterback coach and to the
two of them getting rid of Russell Wilson. They got
rid of Justin Fields, who was playing well, not great,
was playing well four and two, ten in touchdowns, one interception,
they got rid of him. And so again, I don't
know that this is a better situation, and it's a
new situation. You mentioned the familiarity of the receiving core

(19:48):
that they brought in for him with the Jets, the
offensive structure, his guy in Hackett, you know, bringing in
my entire environment that I know, Allan Lazar Rounds, all
the guys, all that comfortable, Devontae Adams of it, Vante Adams,
and then now we don't do great. The numbers would
that he had the ugly twin of Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Yeah, the numbers were the.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Exact same very simple, as Rob likes to scream, except
for a couple of key ones. When you look at
Patrick Mahomes, he led the NFL in third downs into
touchdown conversions.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
That's huge. I think it was fifty three percent if
I'm not mistaken. Yeah, but by the number one name
with a bullet not even close. Yep. Yeah, And that's Hugh.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
That's the winning play that a quarterback, and that's historically Aaron.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
What you used to do is make those plays.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
And Patrick Mahomes knew how to finish the game, and
Aaron doesn't do that anymore. Aaron might even give you
the the ball back to the team tied, but then
they go kick a field, go win, and then Rob
Parker comes, well the defense, Well how about you give
us a lead?

Speaker 3 (20:52):
Aaron?

Speaker 1 (20:54):
Aaron, how about you go win it.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
I feel like you're venting some frustrations to me right now.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
The more I look at you, the more you turn
keep turnings to Rob in your name, and you're talking
about Aaron Rodgers person he has he's blinded for So
that's my point. It's just that I don't you're screaming
ten and twelve contenders. No, there's not there's no such
thing as contenders if there's ten and twelve of them. Secondly,
you might have spotted yourself, as you illustrated there, ROGGI,

(21:19):
by putting yourself at ten or twelve, meaning you might
be more like fifteen eighteen. And then again, if that
is what we are, ultimately we go ten and seven,
nine and eight, maybe make the playoffs barely a wild
card and lose in the first round.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
That's what we did this for. Then I could have
kept Russell Wilson.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
You could have who already knew the system, who was younger,
and who you know, we might have been able to
run it back with and maybe improve on upon what
we had last year. All right, player of the day
on the way. Plus woe Ben Yama already falling off
the wagon. I'll explain what I mean. It is the
odd couple, Rob g and for Rob Pi. Fox Sports Radio.

We never have enough time to get to everything we
want to get to and.

Speaker 7 (22:18):
That's why we have a brand new podcast called over Promised.
You see, we're having so much fun in our two
hour show. We never get to everything, honestly, because this
guy is over promising things.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
We never have time for. Yeah, you blubber list jam
in me. Well you know what it's called over promise.
You should be good at it because you've been over
promising women for years.

Speaker 7 (22:37):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised. Well, if
you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make sure you
check out over Promised and also Uncensored by the way,
so maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.

Speaker 7 (23:01):
There you go, over Promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen over Promised with
Cadino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or

Speaker 1 (23:13):
That's right, it is the Fox Sports Radio on the
I couple kelvin Washington, myself with Rob g and for
Rob Parker. Rob is out on vacation touring the South
right all over different places right now. I literally don't
even know where he is as we speak. Be sure
to check out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just
search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and you're gonna see
a whole bunch of videos that highlight our shows. Be

(23:34):

Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. On the way. A
little bit later, about twenty five thirty minutes or so,
we'll have Klay Harper for an NFL tight end NFL
analysts a bunch of NFL storylines to talk with him
about it. In our last hour next hour, we will
have my guy, one of my fellow colleagues and co
workers with Spectrum News and Spectrum Sportsnet is Timothy Parker.

(23:59):
He's gonna join us. He is was that Rams camp
NFL the Rams all week, so he'll have some insight
to that. We'll talk a little bit a couple of
different conversations with him as well. So looking forward to
do that our next hour, Rob g we get now
to a conversation that the prior conversation is Tracy McGrady
got a lot of people fired up over the last
couple of weeks, I mean fired up, and that was

(24:20):
him understatement, Yeah, that was him speaking. He started this
Kobe slander that we've been on. Well, that's the interesting thing.
There's a lot of people that feel like now, all
of a sudden, there's been a lot of Kobe slander,
where I actually feel the opposite. I think since his
death has been nothing but praise and deservedly so. He's
one of the greatest of all time. Last week, you
think it's in a positive week, you know what I'm saying,

(24:40):
And you've if you've had he died, he passed in
twenty twenty, So if you've had five year run of
just okay, crazy, I see what you're saying, and I'm saying, okay,
one guy or two say something. We got to relax,
acting like I see any of the world. When again
this we've literally been praising him statues, you know what
I mean? The whole nine and now team act. Trace
McGrady comes up on the podcast and he says what

(25:01):
he says, which is essentially that you put me in
for Kobe, Me and Shaq win those titles too. Chaos
and sues over the last couple of weeks, and then
Shack replied.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
Replied on his own podcast that dropped yesterday.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
We would have played the sound, but because he talked
so low, you can barely understand what he's saying.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Can you dig it?

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Shack agree with t Mac talking to the Morris twins.
The Morris Twins obviously disagreed. They're like, hey, you know,
I think they.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
Gave him the pushback.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
And you know what, Rob Parker would have enjoyed it
because he always says athletes don't give other athletes.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
But they did push back. They didn't just go, yeah,
you're right.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
So Shack's quote was T Max said, if you switch
him in Kobe out, as far as playing with me,
the outcome is the same.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
You don't think I would have won three with T Mac?
I think I could have. And let me just say
this to Shack.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
Stop it.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
We've gotten to a point now where the mythology is
Shaquille O'Neil has he clips the player, and I'm gonna
focus on Shaq right now.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
I'm gonna bring.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
I'm gonna bring facts first, I'm gona bring feelings later,
because I think both are important. Shaq is credited with
being the most dominant player in NBA history.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
For my money, he is.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
He is the most physically dominant, imposing player that I've
ever seen, and he's the biggest reason why when we
have these mythical debates like who's gonna win Jordan Bulls
or the Showtime Lakers, Showtime Lakers are the Steph Kat Warriors,
Steph Kat Warriors versus Shaq Kobe Lakers. Ultimately it always
comes down to for me, is yeah, who's gonna go Shack.

(26:34):
That's why I picking oh one versus damn near everybody,
because I don't think there's anybody that could have handled
a one Shack, point blank period. Having said that, for
Shaq to come out and say, you put Tracy McGrady
with me instead of Kobe, we're winning those three chips, Shack.
Let me take you on memory lane real quick so
that we know exactly what we're talking about when it

(26:56):
comes to the greatness of Kobe Bryant. You had Team
Mack before t Mac in Orlando. His name was Penny Hardaway,
Penny Hardaway was a two time first team All NBA player,
third in MVP voting when he played with Shaq one
year in nineteen ninety six, and you know what happened.
Shack got swept out of the playoffs ninety four, ninety five,

(27:19):
ninety six, two of those years with what at the
time was the Tracy McGrady, the Kobe Bryant, the Dwayne
Wade of that league. Moves over to the Lakers, swept
out of the playoffs nineteen ninety eight, nineteen ninety nine.
Five times before Kobe reached his ascension, you were swept

(27:40):
out of the postseason one of those years in Los Angeles.
You had four All Stars on your team getting swept
out by the Spurs. It wasn't until Kobe Bryant made
the leap from hey, this kid's got a lot of
potential to hey, this guy is legitimately a star player.

(28:00):
That they got over the hump and now I'm gonna
work backwards from that three p in two thousand and two,
Shack deservedly Finals MVP dominant in that run. You know,
Kobe led the team in scoring ten times in that run.
Kobe Shaq led him in scoring eight times. So even
though Shack was the guy in the finals, Kobe was

(28:22):
the guy all the way up until they got there.
Two thousand and one, Kobe led the team in scoring
eight times. Shaq led the team in scoring eight times.
So in two thousand and one they were at a
minimum equal right during that playoff run as players. Again,
Shack because it goes against the Eastern Conference cooks in

(28:44):
the finals. So it's the assumption is this is Shack's team.
Shacks the better player.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
Shack with the.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
Finals MVP going back to two thousand, the first one,
make no bones about it, that was the pinnacle Shack
MVP easily the best player in the year of the year,
the most dominant season by the most dominant player I
think we've seen from Shack. You know in the two
thousand Western Conference Finals Game seven, the one where they

(29:13):
were down by fifteen, where Phil Jackson says on record,
we might as well pack it in.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
Guys, we're not winning this game. It's over. You know
who led that comeback. It was at Shack. It was Kobe.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
In that game seven decided Game seven, Kobe led the
team in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, had the highest plus
minus on the team, or of the starters that wasn't Shack,
that was Kobe. How I could make a case that, Shack,
not only are you not winning three championships with Tracy McGrady.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
You might not even win one. You do not get
by Portland.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
If Kobe doesn't go super nova in game seven. And
now I'm gonna bring feelies into it. Elijah put the
camera on.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Was my camera's right here? Is right here?

Speaker 3 (30:01):
I'm gonna go right here, Shack, you don't want to
make an enemy out of me. What you said I
just pointed out was factually inaccurate, but to make it
worse in an effort to build up your own mythology,
in an effort to remind the younger generation just how

(30:25):
good you were. You disrespected the best player you ever
played with. You disrespected the man who you spoke at
his funeral because you wanted to make yourself feel better.
You should be ashamed of yourself, Shack. Don't ever bring
that nonsense in here again. I can't believe why they

(30:47):
did that.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
So why I wouldn't look at you.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
I was like, I can't look at him and let
him cook, all right, So we'll be back after this
break and Kelvin Man, you said a lot, and I
agree with a lot, but I disagree with quite a
bit as well. Number one, you got to it too
late for me when it comes to something that you
left out when you were breaking down Shack and what

(31:12):
you were saying, Oh, he had this and inn Penny
that Phil Jackson. If you want to know how he
was getting sweat, he didn't have Phil Jackson. You know
what happened when he got Phil Jackson. He started winning.
And by he, I mean they as in him and Kobe.
Now what I mean by that is if you tell
me in the situation and I have Phil Jackson, prime Shack,
as we both know that was peak Shack, you know

(31:33):
ninety nine and like oh three ish, and I also
have prime Tracy McGrady. Because I believe this is the
premise we're all operating off of. You're having prime Tracy
McGrady and you're having prime Shack at the same time,
then I absolutely believe they win at least one minimum.

(31:54):
Likely too, I will spot you maybe the three peats
with Kobe, like that extra three was with Kobe. But
the idea that everybody, oh he wouldn't got nug with
he is absolutely asinine because his revision is history. In
real time, we were saying Kobe or t mack who
you got, and if you said Kobe, that was fine.
But if you said t Mac, that was fine, And

(32:14):
then let's use Kobe Bryant his own words. When he's
asked Oftens about who is the hardest of guard, he
talks about Tracy McGrady. He loved talking about how great
and most talented Tracy McGrady was. He said, he has
all the skills and all the athleticism. He goes on
to say he's probably six' ten and he had a
rare combination of size that made him so hard the
difficult to. Guard for that little period That tracy McGrady

(32:35):
Was tracy McGrady because it was no way.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Near as long As. Kobe. Duh anybody would admit that
he was, equally if not the better.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Score factually he was the more efficient, Score he was
the more, versatile and that he was bigger at that.
Time kobe became a little bit more versatile as he got,
older and you, know more than twenty four version posting fade,
away but t mac had that a little earlier than.
Him size post you mid range kind of from operating
from the. Elbow kobe continued to get that a little bit,
later and, again he was a much better defender than T.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
Mac he, Wasn't, kobe give you, that but he was much.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Better And i'm using Again Kobe bryant's own words talking
about how he was a much better defender than people
give him credit, for and how he could play multiple positions.
Defensively these Are kobe's words talking About. Tamman Kobe ryan
gets so, Excited god blessed dead talking about T mac
because he was a. Problem AND i think we forget
the three four year period and then we'll, say, well
he didn't get out of the first, round he didn't do.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
That.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Well he was supposed to be playing With Grant hill
And Tim dunk And tim duncan you beat me to?
It but that did ended up not. Happening so then,
fine me And Grant hill will get. Busy it's good. Enough,
well then Grey hill gets the, injuries so he's by
himself and he's making do what he. Could and we
saw What kobe did when he didn't have. Anybody what
did he? Do? Nothing And i'm not blaming him because you,

(33:54):
Know i'm wise enough to know nobody does anything without.
Anybody so the best few years of T mac to
me is not that much Or kobe isn't that much
superior than his best year is versus T. Mac and
so the idea that the emphasis on Peak shack with
that T mac wouldn't win, one it's crazy to. Me.

(34:15):
NOW i think the. Difference kobe was, maniacal no doubt about.
It kobe would literally Punch shack if you. Like he
was that crazed about. It AND i absolutely believe he's
the reason WHY i say they made that the difference
between winning one and two versus, Three i'll give you.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
THAT i can see.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
THAT i think that's what Made kobe, great BECAUSE i
think T mac was more naturally, gifted As kobe hasn't,
Mentioned BUT i Think kobe's maniacal approach and that extra
little bit he would get out of even A shack
by if it's, me you, know confronting him by if
it's me getting into it with, him if it's me
kind of poking him in problem to get.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
BETTER i think that's the differentiator that gets you THREE
a THREE.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
P And i'm okay with, That AND i absolutely Believe
kobe is the better player in the totality. Careers but
the act like that three four year window when it
was Ooh KOBE T i'm gonna Go kobe, okay, okay
Or i'm gonna go T. Mac that wasn't asidnin or
crazy four handful of. Years and if you're giving me
that guy With peek Insane shack And Phil jackson and

(35:14):
the surrounding, PIECES i don't see how they don't get
one baby.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Likely to do you, know entirely too much ball to
make a comment like. That please tell me just with the,
comparison BECAUSE i REMEMBER i was LIVING i know you
were living at there.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
Too, Huh KOBE R T, Mac kobe R T. Mac
you know what other debates we used to.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Have like That melo or Lebron Chris paul Or Darren,
williams which now that we get years removed from it
and we see the bigger, picture there's no debate between those.
Guys it's not close at all between those three. Players,
Okay i'm gonna let you go BECAUSE i got my.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Red here's the other.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
One tracey, McGrady you mentioned famously never got out of
the first round ever until he was a, benchwarmer never
got off the pine In San, antonio and he almost
snuck his way to a chip until on to the
heel stopped. Him you know why he never got out
of the first. Round why that Because tracy McGrady could
not close the. Door, Famously Rod parker will tell. You

(36:11):
in a series against The, Pistons tracy McGrady says to the, reporters,
Man i'm just glad that we got out of the first,
round you, know could we up three to?

Speaker 4 (36:18):
One and feeling real good about.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
Himself he actually thought they didn't realize it was best the,
seven not best of, five and they prombably lost the.
Series right that is like beyond Hilarious kobe from two
thousand to two thousand and. Four so that was all
four of their final runs and another year where they
got think bouncing the second round led The lakers in
fourth quarter scoring because, he Unlike shack and unlike.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
T, mac could close the. Door he was capable of
slamming it. Shut and here's the last. Reason tracy. McGrady,
AGAIN i don't want to Disrespect tracy McGrady because he's
kind of like a.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Collateral damage in this whole. THING i think it's happens
me and you Argue lebron and step And steph looks
like nothing Or. Lebron this is So tracy McGrady for
all of his own offensive, gifts that he was tremendous
during that entire.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Run if we're Only county from two thousand to two
thousand and, four because that's when it Was Pete, shack
you know That kobe Was First Team All defense two,
thousand two thousand and, three two thousand and, Four Second
Team All defense two thousand, one two thousand and. Two
so every year during that, Stretch kobe was one of
the ten, best if not the five best defenders in.
Basketball tracey McGrady was never an all defensive. Player that's

(37:27):
what separates really good from. Great that's what separates a
top twenty, player a top thirty, player from a top ten,
player a top five.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Player you know WHY i can assert that extra little
bit of energy to be that rank that high BECAUSE
i Have, shaq When i'm have my, best second best
player is the fact that you AND i can't even name.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
Him THEN i have to do.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
More it's the reason, why and you've seen. It When
lebron had teams where he was he had to. EXERT
i have to do it, all So i'm going to
be maybe not the best DEFENDER i could be when
he was with the heat AND i had other players
WHERE i went to Freak lebron is insane defensively BECAUSE
i have help AND i can take a player too
often locked. Down Derrick rose to the tune and we
didn't never think we See Derreck rose get locked. Out
And i'll never say T mac would be the exact

(38:10):
defender As kobe at. All but What i'm saying is
when you have to do it, all it's a little.
Harder WHEN i KNOW i got big fella down there
AND i can just dump it down to a few
players in a row and he's about to Eat Bubba
ko chicken, style then we got something, cooking no pun.
Intended so, AGAIN i Think kobe is the better. Player
they had the better, career without a. Doubt but to

(38:31):
think that it's crazy that T mac And shaq couldn't
have got, one that's crazy because it's, like do you
not remember What shaq? Was AND i think it's crazy
to remember not what T mac. Was, now if you're,
saying who DO i want for a fifteen year. Period
give me, shock give Me kobe that you know that.
Iteration but they couldn't get. ONE i think that's. Crazy
eight seven seven ninety Nine On, fox what do you

(38:51):
Say Team mack couldn't have got? One With Shaq Shack
sack three to? It jack said. THREE i don't agree With.
SHAQ i don't think you get. Three one to TWO
i think is absolutely, possible one thousand percent.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
ONE i just think.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
THERE i think those two would have been too, dynamic
AND i think two would have been likely because he
was the best scorer in the league's at that. Time wildly,
disrespectful no disrespect would have been. Fine SAID i think.
Three shack disrespected, It but That's shack bigg en up In.
SHACK i MEAN i could have did it with just about.
It as long as you were An all star, WING
i could have won, week even though history says that's not.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
True that's what he.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
Feels but there you have. It eight seven seven ninety
nine On. Fox we'll take some calls on. This h
eight seven seven ninety Nine On, fox we Crazy shaq?
Crazy you greet With ROB. G ROB g THINKS T
mac is smoking on that ouh WII i say, no not,
really they would have got one or two eight, seven
seven ninety. Nine On fox we want to hear from.

to participate in that in that. RISE i know we're
blessed to you, know be in a position where we're
playing basketball for a, living and these are the type
of checks that people are. Earning AND i think it's
all deserved because it's it's a special, commodity it's a

(43:55):
special industry that probably won't go anywhere because that.

Speaker 4 (43:59):
Entertainment he was.

Speaker 8 (44:00):
There but, YEAH i feel, like hopefully sooner than later
those rules change a little bit so that players can
participate more in the upside of team, equity the league
evaluations and all that type, stuff just because WE i
think we.

Speaker 1 (44:15):
Deserve All, right it's three sixty With. SPEEDY i looked
that up. SHOUTING i don't, know he just appeared the
last handful of. Years you, know he's like gets all these,
interviews so shout out to. Him but, yeah so three
sixty With speedy is the. POD a couple of THINGS
i want to jump in here real. Quick Rob number,
ONE i absolutely agree THAT nba players could have an

(44:37):
argument for saying we get, more we deserve. More AND
i did a little digging in as far as some
research into into numbers and things like. That so let's
look at let's look at something like, this so we
know they have a cap, league so these guys aren't
going to be making the money that others could in
and other.

Speaker 4 (44:53):
Sports you look at, soccer which is gonna.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
Be a good.

Speaker 4 (44:57):
Comparison those guys are making h undreds of millions of dollars.
Annually we know.

Speaker 3 (45:02):
That it's you, see seems they're paying one hundred million
dollars in it for the right to sign them to
one hundred, million.

Speaker 4 (45:07):
Yeah, exactly and just to get.

Speaker 1 (45:09):
Them so they're getting one hundred two hundred million dollars
annually because it truly is a free market. There so it's, just,
hey whatever the guy, wants he's worth. It you believe you.

Speaker 4 (45:17):
Want to pay, it you pay.

Speaker 1 (45:18):
It and when you start crunching numbers with the average
the revenue in THE, nba and you start to look
at the worth of the. PLAYERS nba teams generally rough
generate roughly two hundred four hundred million dollars, annually so
you would argue the lead players are worth sixty to
one hundred and twenty million dollars. Annually somebody like A
lebron somebody like A Michael jordan's, prime A Kobe, bryant
A Steph. Curry these guys are making forty they're making fifty,

(45:40):
now But Steph curry twenty fourteen to about, now he
could have been making a buck twenty, buck twenty five
every year Rob Gen and that's not crazy when you
talk about what he's worth from just publicity, standpoint what
he's bringing in the inside the arena you're looking At,
LEBRON i don't even think what he's been worth since
about two thousands really came in the, league as he

(46:01):
came in with so much. Fanfair steph had had to
work his way up to. It lebron came, in so
they absolutely have been not making the worth in that. Regard,
now that is WHY i think he wants then, equity
you get WHAT i. Mean so IF i can't get
because we have a cap, league the MONEY i Believe i'm,
worth then at least let me get a buy in
and get some of the equity of the. Teams, NOW
i think that becomes challenging when you start to have

(46:23):
guys have part ownership of leagues and you're an, owner
but then you go to this. Team how does that?
Work do you get a part ownership of The? Warriors
but what IF i trade you to The? Hornets are
you still allone there's a carry to another, team do
you do you lose. That you gotta sell it when you,
Lead so then to me can get a little tricky
when you start talking about. That but, absolutely just on

(46:44):
the principle OF nba players deserving, MORE i always wonder
what it would be like without a. Cap can can
Can lebron have signed a seven hundred and something billion
dollar million dollar deal Like Juan, soto you, know because
he had been worth it last Point one player like
that actually changes your franchise more than a baseball.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
Player The mets might not even make the.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Postseason, facts you get A lebron in his, prime you
get A stephan ther, prime you get A kobe And
Mike jordan is shock like, That, well you might be
for the next eight years in and out the, finals
win a couple when you get that magnitude of a,
Guy so then they're really worth it what they.

Speaker 4 (47:21):
BRING i understand the point that you're, making and it
does make.

Speaker 3 (47:26):
SENSE i just feel Like steph needs to be a
little more self aware when he says something like this publicly.

Speaker 4 (47:32):
About, himself about Him how about the fact That.

Speaker 3 (47:35):
Steph when his neck contract is up because he signed
through this season and next, season he will have been
the highest paid player in THE nba for ten straight.
Years Steph curry next season coming up and the following
season twenty six twenty seven will make one hundred and
twenty two million dollars over two. YEARS i understand, Saying,

(47:57):
hey if you just look at what the valuation is
with The warriors Since i've been, there and how much
is triple, quadrupled tenfold whatever the number, is that he
is if no one else responsible for eighty percent of, that,
Right like he is that? Great he doesn't mean that
much to that franchise and to the league as a.
Whole but it's not like you're not being well. Compensated

(48:18):
it's not like you, are you, know nickel and, diming
struggling your way through on a day to day. Basis
it's not like you don't live in a ridiculous mansion
and you probably got three more of them.

Speaker 4 (48:30):
That you've never even seen. Before so disappointing. You and
here's the last.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
Thing If steph really feels that, way and of course he,
does he said it on the, podcast but On, wax.

Speaker 4 (48:41):
Why can't you tall your own?

Speaker 3 (48:42):
League if you are the product that everybody cares about
that you're the only reason why The warriors have seen
their value shoot up like, this that you're the reason
why millions of people tune into THE. Nba then what's
to stop you from being like What Brianna stewart did, Is,
hey we're gonna launch unrivaled a three three. League it's
only gonna have you, know fifteen players on, it but

(49:03):
everyone's gonna make five times what they make in the
w because we're paying you for what you're legitimately, worth
not what the league thinks you're. Worth why can't Actually
Maverick carter's doing. This Maverick carter is working with The
saudi's right, NOW i, believe to try to launch a
new basketball. League, NOW i don't think that's ever gonna

(49:23):
be with THE, nba but he's. Trying If Steph curry
really feels, undervalued, underappreciated then maybe HIM Kd Lebron. James
pick your favorite older events player who's already had THEIR nba,
Success why don't they launch their own league and do?
It because the reality, Is, STEPH i hate to break
it to, You you're not really worth that much.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
MONEY i couldn't disagree with you, anymore of course you.
Can first of, All Steph curry asking ath is showing right.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
Now and you know what's, Funny i'm glad you wrote.
That i'm glad you said that BECAUSE i just wrote
Down Rob g's thinking too. Small, okay you're thinking too
company man is right?

Speaker 4 (49:58):
Now so aw you?

Speaker 1 (50:00):
Are you are in that? Mean you don't even you
and you got the wrong shirt on.

Speaker 4 (50:05):
Today yesterday was the day you were supposed to think like.

Speaker 1 (50:08):
That AND i say that because, ultimately if you're just
gonna do the well you make, enough then you're never
gonna make more because they're always gonna pacify you and
whatever the thing, is and you being on this side,
today you've been. Great who knows where you can go
in the next. Year two years might be The ROB
g and so and so show And alex by the,

(50:29):
way We've ROB g And alex. Show then they're gonna, say,
well this is what you were making on that, side
and they're gonna give you a little bump and he
gonna say that's, better, right and you're gonna, go, well
G golli, SHUCKS i Guess i'll, say, yes you're the
PERSON i got a got a homie who ticked me
and my wife off because you know her in her
legal space and contracts and all. That one day told
us he has he's been to the four letter, place

(50:51):
he's been on sports centers and. All you know that
he never negotiated a contract like they're basically whatever they offered. Him,
yes he was just because it's so would so happy
to you, know get it. Right AND i almost lost
my mind because you're worth. More companies know that, oftentimes
and you fight for it and y'all battle it out
and it is no hard feelings because business is business is, business.

Speaker 4 (51:13):
And you meet.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
Somewhere that's why we have an, agent by the, way
and that's why you have an agent to be the
ugly person or got to be the go. Between and
so What Steph curry is saying Is i'm fully aware
The warriors were just an organization in THE nba UNTIL
i got. Hot and, no obviously the team around, me
they did a great job building, It But i'm the
centerpiece the league as a. Whole what the heck would

(51:35):
they have done Without lebron over the last twenty years
because the magic goals and Obviously Kobe's, kobe But lebron
has been because he's whether you hate him or love,
him he's been the talk of everybody has an opinion
That lebron, yep he's been that what they've done Without,
Kobe i'm not making it just A Lebron Kobe. Steph
that's Why jordan finally got thirty three million in the
last year or two in nineteen ninety. EIGHT i don't

(51:55):
even know what thirty three million is like, now because
teammate was making like two. Exactly, yeah because they finally
said all we got to Play jordan for them to back.

Speaker 4 (52:02):
End so, absolutely to, me you go and get what you're.
Worth you go and fight for.

Speaker 1 (52:06):
That and from time to time you have to throw
out a crazy idea and you got to negotiate, it
and you got to bring up, stuff and they have
the right to say no THE, nba and to your,
point he has a right to try to figure out something.
Else but never should you not ever advocate for. Yourself
and that's Why i'm blown away with people who you
cannot like THE. WNBA i get, That and it's not
the most appealing sport for, some so it's not for.

(52:26):
Everybody it's not for, everybody but the idea THAT i
see two point billion dollars is coming in. THAT i
see you guys are about to. Build you trying to
build five new team franchises in the next handful of.
Years and people are paying a quarter of a billion
dollars just to get in the. Door, exactly they're paying
two hundred and FIFTY mils just to get a. Franchise
AND i see we've gone up forty percent. APPAREL i

(52:47):
see all, this the growth of viewership and all the,
attendance everything's going. Up you absolutely double back and, say,
hey where are we. At that's why it's called. Negotiations
you ain't got to do, it AND i don't have to,
play but we, negotiate, Right SO i don't get why.

Speaker 3 (53:02):
You BECAUSE i Think steph needs to realize that he
would not Be Steph curry without THE. Nba and this
is something That rob and Before Rob rest in, Peace Christ,
mussard he's not with us.

Speaker 4 (53:14):
Anymore is a man?

Speaker 1 (53:15):
Retired he is.

Speaker 3 (53:16):
Retired but they both said and AND i didn't think
about it till they had said, It so credit to.
Them as great as all of these guys, Are lebron is,
Great steph is, Great katie's, great before, That kobe was,
great even though on Matt As Shaq shack was, great,
right if they didn't have a media rights deal or
THE tv or somebody to prop them up and show

(53:38):
the entertainment. Factor here's just a bunch of dudes hooping
at An La. Fitness now they're doing a lot crazier
stuff than the guys That elephantis can. Do but if
there's nobody to give you the platform to showcase, yourself
it doesn't really. Matter And Steph curry wasn't always all
Capped Steph. Curry he needed THE nba AND espn AND
tnt And Fox, Sports Rob parker And Kelvin washington to

(54:02):
talk about, him to showcase him and, say, hey he's,
great or he's got, great he, sucks he's, awesome whatever it.
Is and that's what helped propel him to earn forty
fifties now sixty million dollars a. Season so does he
have to pay some of that back because he didn't
know have that platform.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
Before your platform is useless without a product or a.
SERVICE i am the amazing product and or service that
allows your platform to be. Successful and what we are
also able to do is renegotiate from time to, time
and to, me that's all he's. Doing he, says, hey
let's get back to the table and let's have some,
conversations AND i think we should be able to do.

Speaker 4 (54:38):
This then we should be able.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
That and THE nba can say no and, then but
that's why we have cbas and conversations and meetings and
you build relationships With Adam silver or you can call
him and just SAY i was thinking in what do you?
Think and he can say. No but that's what it's.
For the idea is simply that be grateful THAT i
have this thing and you're a part of. It, NO
i built, THAT i helped build the. Thing it's a
partnership you can have a. Platfor you know how many
networks start and die because they didn't have the great,

(55:01):
shows all of. Them it's the reason why they were
playing the friends actors a million dollars an episode because without,
us your network is your, network but you ain't drawing
these viewers that get you the sponsorship in these, endorsements
in these.

Speaker 4 (55:13):
Commercials so pay us.

Speaker 1 (55:15):
A million dollars an, episode all of, us by the,
way not one, Person because of our, talent our show
what we brought to the. Table all, right good conversation.
There what's maybe if you want to hop in eight,
seven seven ninety nine On. Fox otherwise we Got Tim
parker Of Spectrum news. One we'll talk Some Rams camp
he was there as, well and also can talk a
little bit of the With bronni what he was witnessing

(55:37):
Covering brownie as. Well we'll have that With Timothy, Parker
Spectrum news, One Spectrum sports that in just a. Bit
it's The eye, Couple rob g and FORROP, P Kevin,
Washington Fox Sports, radio
