story of the night is literally right in front of
our face here. You know, it's funny, right, because we

Today we are minutes away from kickoff, Carolina Panthers hosting
the Cleveland Browns, maybe the most famous fifth route.

Pick history of the NFL.

I'll say this and actually listen the draft slide in
and of itself. It was wild. It was surreal to
watch in real time. Didn't hate the landing spot of
the Browns. And then to take it a step further,
Ephrom you know you wanted your shot. Dylan Gabriel's banged up,
Kenny Picketts banged up. You're obviously not going to play

a forty year old Joe Flacco in the preseason. Shador Sanders,
you got a chance to put something on tape tonight,
flor is yours e from What do you expect to see?

What do you hope to see tonight?
Speaker 5 (02:18):
This is when all of the draft, all of the
be legendary, all of the nonsense goes away, the speeding tickets,
to miscourt date ball, all of that up. Put it
at the bottom of your locker, shut your locker, put
your uniform on, and come play you can erase all
of those things by going out and doing what you

do best, competing playing football at the highest level at
the quarterback position. Leadership get the snap, write reads. All
of the negative things that have been surrounding this young
man all go away, and as an athlete, as a

professional athlete, all you ever want is a chance. So
many times, late round draft picks don't get a chance
because teams feel beholden to earlier picks at least first
through the third round of their going to play, because
we've invested more money in them, and so you don't
(03:23):
actually get an opportunity to play. And I always equate
it to my rookie year. I'm a seventh round left
tackle out of San Diego State. I get the training camp,
but it's three guys in front of me at left tackle,
So I'm kind of like a fourth string left tackle,
third string right tackle, and I'm just trying to consume
(03:46):
the playbook and learn as much as I can give
effort in practice. After the second preseason game, somebody got
hurt out Our starting right tackle at the time, Corey Luci,
got hurt, and they moved me over to second string
right tackle, and it allowed me to now get more
reps and play more minutes in the preseason game. And
(04:09):
it worked. And it came down to the final preseason
game where Corey started. I played the second quarter, he
the third, either fourth, and whoever played the best. According
to Artshell, my old line coach, that too be starting
next week opening day. As an athlete, it did. It
didn't matter where I was drafted. I didn't care. All
(04:30):
I said is, oh, I hit a fair opportunity to
go out here and prove that I belong and I
can play. That's all you want as an athlete, because
what you don't want is to go out there play
better than someone and they still don't let you play
because of politics or whatever else is happening.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I've been in that situation as well.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
So for Shadur, all he has to do is go
out there and be who he is to his core,
lead the team. And remember Cleveland does not have a
quarterback six on the roster, No quarterback who's going to
step up and take lead at that position. Now, Joe
(05:11):
Flacco may never play in the preseason. He's a thousand.
They know what Joe Flacco is, they know who he is.
Two years ago he let him to the playoffs, so
he's presumably the starter. But if Shadura goes out here
and burns the field down, now the second preseason game
becomes interesting because if he stacks two preseason games and

looks tremendous, the offense is clicking. Now the conversation going
into that last preseason week changes. What you want to
do as a player is change the conversation upstairs. Especially
a late round draft pick. You want to have them
looking at you like, huh, we have to make a decision.
(05:58):
Whenever you're there, You've you've done what you're supposed to do.
And he has that opportunity. I'm pulling for him.

That's so interesting.

You know, obviously knowing you a little bit, I just
know you as the dude that played in the league
for thirteen years won.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
A Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
So your whole career, your whole trajectory of your life
kind of changed in that two to three week training
That was it.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Yeah, my career started in training camp.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Wow.

Everything that I became in the NFL was that rookie year.
That's how important it is, whether your first round draft
pick or a seventh round draft pick, that year is
important because it makes people in the organization look at
you either in a negative or a positive way, and
(06:44):
I was hyper focused on this is why I got
my break. Artchell would call us up, the young guys
in the old line room and call us up to
the board. He'd call a playout and you'd have to
draw the play up and then you know, fill it out.
(07:05):
I not only did the offensive lineman, I did everybody.
He called a pass play, I'm doing routes, I'm doing everything.
So it was looking like, Wow, did about five plays
like that. I moved up the depth chart in that
moment in the classroom, not even on the field.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Wow wow. Ys graduated sixteen sixty years high school. I
did some some some.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
People excel out on the field, but the trust level
isn't there with the coaches. If I know what I'm
supposed to do, now I can just go play. If
I'm worried about a snapcount or do I go that direction,
I won't be able to maximize my abilities. And that's
what they saw in me, or saw that in me
and gave me an opportunity to prove not only to

myself but to the world that I belong and started
ten years straight after that.

Well, Shador Sanders has officially stepped on the field as
the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns and their opener.
It's funny their to the crowd right now, Chador Brown's
jersey in one shot, a Colorado Buffalo's T shirt in
the next. Realistically, let me ask you this, you know,
because I do think for all of the stuff from

around the draft, like it's it's forgotten how good he
was as a college quarterback seventy four percent completion percentage
last year, thirty seven.

Like I you know, I hate to.

Say this in this way and I feel bad saying it,
but I've said this on my show.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
I feel like people treat him like Bronni and I
hate to say it. Yeah, but it's the truth. Like, yeah,
we all.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
Know why Bronni is in him, yeah, and Chador is not.
That he was very productive in four years as a
starter college two at Jackson State, two at Colorado. You know,
are there things for him to work on? Of course,
did he take too many sacks?
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Maybe?

Are some of them on him? Absolutely? But this notion that,
like you know, he somehow was not worthy of being
drafted or the opportunity to play in the NFL. That
just doesn't jive with what I saw for those twelve
thirteen saturdays last year at Colorado. Just let me ask
you big picture and again understanding that Joe Flacco's the

guy that whatever, what do you expect from tonight? But
more importantly, maybe the next few weeks as we kind
of ramp up training camp, they figure out the roster situation,
and then you know the rest, you know, we'll see
how well.

I just think we're going to see a football player
in March. There is a lot from the end of
your college career to your first preseason game. A lot
goes on. Yeah, working out, sometimes, you play in the Bowls,
the Senior Bowls or whatever. You have training, you pick

an agent, you buy some stuff, right, you go through
the whole, but the combine the whole. There's a lot
going on, and relatively a three month period, sure you
look at it, we never just break it down like that,
but in three months, your whole world changes, and.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
So it's a lot to deal with.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
You're just like, oh, this and that, and so you
get to a point where you're kind of in a
tailspind like your head.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Is all over the place. You're trying to figure things out.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
You get drafted, you go into mini camp OTA's and
then when training camp starts, the world slows down completely.
It literally stops, because now everything is scheduled, regimented, there
is no uncertainty every day.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
This is what's happening. This is where you're going.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
You got meetings eight am waits, training room, practice, nap,
lunch meetings, practice, dinner meetings, and so as the world
slows down, you can now hone in and focus on
that thing that got you here, the thing that you

do so well. And I'm looking forward to seeing that,
and you'll do in all of the young players.

First series, by the way, a three and out run play.
On play one, play two, Shadoor hits a receiver in
the hands and it's dropped. Play three, it was about
a third and eight and he hits a receiver about
a yard short of the first down stick. So it's

of a preseason Browns Panthers game, but do think it's

From Pop warner to high school to. College he's been
able to, play and so can he play in the?

Pros can he win in the? Pros because that's what
he's accustomed to that's yet to be. Seen does he
have the tools to do? That, yes, yes he, does extremely,
accurate great. Leader can he match the speed of THE

nfl because everyone is. Fast he's held the ball a
couple of times. Now granted his offensive line isn't, great
which is something else we have to bring. Up are
those five guys up front going to be able to
keep him upright and safe and not under. Pressure it's
been early pressure so, far uh in this, game so

he's been off target and and they've pushed him off his.
Spot so you, know there's a lot to be, uh
to be desired in terms of are we going to
see this Great Shadua sanders. Today they're just not a good,

they'll be able to continue to. Compete the team wasn't
Just Travis hunter And shadour. Exactly they've start of this
recruiting process two years ago and those young guys are
now coming into their own and they're adding more and

go to the pros and he wanted to build a,
program and that's exactly what they're doing In. Colorado he's
got an. EXTENSION i was making a ton of money
he rolls the economy and In, boulder right, like so
he means so much. There And dion is just going
to continue to, coach whether his son or whoever it.

Is and, look he's a he's a good college football,
coach no. Doubt that's exactly what you. Want and this
notion That dion is going to show up every at
every schedure, game and, hey there's going to be a separation.
Here dion has a, job his son has a. Job

they're gonna be on the opposite ends of the coasts

was the other thing about The Shadoor oh he was
thirteen and twelve as a. Starter, well, no he wasn't

in the games that he started At Jackson, state you

expert but the early early projections for two drafts from,
now or that he's still trending as a top ten
pick like he would have out of high. School they

From alabama in the. Portal AND i understand that four
or five guys don't, make you, know don't make a
roster on an eighty five, team eighty five man college football.

story of the night is literally right in front of
our face here. You know, it's funny, right, because we

Today we are minutes away from kickoff, Carolina Panthers hosting
the Cleveland Browns, maybe the most famous fifth route.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Pick history of the NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
I'll say this and actually listen the draft slide in
and of itself. It was wild. It was surreal to
watch in real time. Didn't hate the landing spot of
the Browns. And then to take it a step further,
Ephrom you know you wanted your shot. Dylan Gabriel's banged up,
Kenny Picketts banged up. You're obviously not going to play
(02:09):
a forty year old Joe Flacco in the preseason. Shador Sanders,
you got a chance to put something on tape tonight,
flor is yours e from What do you expect to see?
Speaker 1 (02:17):
What do you hope to see tonight?
Speaker 5 (02:18):
This is when all of the draft, all of the
be legendary, all of the nonsense goes away, the speeding tickets,
to miscourt date ball, all of that up. Put it
at the bottom of your locker, shut your locker, put
your uniform on, and come play you can erase all
of those things by going out and doing what you
(02:40):
do best, competing playing football at the highest level at
the quarterback position. Leadership get the snap, write reads. All
of the negative things that have been surrounding this young
man all go away, and as an athlete, as a
(03:02):
professional athlete, all you ever want is a chance. So
many times, late round draft picks don't get a chance
because teams feel beholden to earlier picks at least first
through the third round of their going to play, because
we've invested more money in them, and so you don't
(03:23):
actually get an opportunity to play. And I always equate
it to my rookie year. I'm a seventh round left
tackle out of San Diego State. I get the training camp,
but it's three guys in front of me at left tackle,
So I'm kind of like a fourth string left tackle,
third string right tackle, and I'm just trying to consume
(03:46):
the playbook and learn as much as I can give
effort in practice. After the second preseason game, somebody got
hurt out Our starting right tackle at the time, Corey Luci,
got hurt, and they moved me over to second string
right tackle, and it allowed me to now get more
reps and play more minutes in the preseason game. And
(04:09):
it worked. And it came down to the final preseason
game where Corey started. I played the second quarter, he
the third, either fourth, and whoever played the best. According
to Artshell, my old line coach, that too be starting
next week opening day. As an athlete, it did. It
didn't matter where I was drafted. I didn't care. All
(04:30):
I said is, oh, I hit a fair opportunity to
go out here and prove that I belong and I
can play. That's all you want as an athlete, because
what you don't want is to go out there play
better than someone and they still don't let you play
because of politics or whatever else is happening.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I've been in that situation as well.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
So for Shadur, all he has to do is go
out there and be who he is to his core,
lead the team. And remember Cleveland does not have a
quarterback six on the roster, No quarterback who's going to
step up and take lead at that position. Now, Joe
(05:11):
Flacco may never play in the preseason. He's a thousand.
They know what Joe Flacco is, they know who he is.
Two years ago he let him to the playoffs, so
he's presumably the starter. But if Shadura goes out here
and burns the field down, now the second preseason game
becomes interesting because if he stacks two preseason games and
(05:36):
looks tremendous, the offense is clicking. Now the conversation going
into that last preseason week changes. What you want to
do as a player is change the conversation upstairs. Especially
a late round draft pick. You want to have them
looking at you like, huh, we have to make a decision.
(05:58):
Whenever you're there, You've you've done what you're supposed to do.
And he has that opportunity. I'm pulling for him.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
That's so interesting.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
You know, obviously knowing you a little bit, I just
know you as the dude that played in the league
for thirteen years won.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
A Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
So your whole career, your whole trajectory of your life
kind of changed in that two to three week training
That was it.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Yeah, my career started in training camp.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Everything that I became in the NFL was that rookie year.
That's how important it is, whether your first round draft
pick or a seventh round draft pick, that year is
important because it makes people in the organization look at
you either in a negative or a positive way, and
(06:44):
I was hyper focused on this is why I got
my break. Artchell would call us up, the young guys
in the old line room and call us up to
the board. He'd call a playout and you'd have to
draw the play up and then you know, fill it out.
(07:05):
I not only did the offensive lineman, I did everybody.
He called a pass play, I'm doing routes, I'm doing everything.
So it was looking like, Wow, did about five plays
like that. I moved up the depth chart in that
moment in the classroom, not even on the field.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Wow wow. Ys graduated sixteen sixty years high school. I
did some some some.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
People excel out on the field, but the trust level
isn't there with the coaches. If I know what I'm
supposed to do, now I can just go play. If
I'm worried about a snapcount or do I go that direction,
I won't be able to maximize my abilities. And that's
what they saw in me, or saw that in me
and gave me an opportunity to prove not only to
(07:48):
myself but to the world that I belong and started
ten years straight after that.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Well, Shador Sanders has officially stepped on the field as
the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns and their opener.
It's funny their to the crowd right now, Chador Brown's
jersey in one shot, a Colorado Buffalo's T shirt in
the next. Realistically, let me ask you this, you know,
because I do think for all of the stuff from
(08:14):
around the draft, like it's it's forgotten how good he
was as a college quarterback seventy four percent completion percentage
last year, thirty seven.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Like I you know, I hate to.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
Say this in this way and I feel bad saying it,
but I've said this on my show.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
I feel like people treat him like Bronni and I
hate to say it. Yeah, but it's the truth. Like, yeah,
we all.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
Know why Bronni is in him, yeah, and Chador is not.
That he was very productive in four years as a
starter college two at Jackson State, two at Colorado. You know,
are there things for him to work on? Of course,
did he take too many sacks?
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Maybe?
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Are some of them on him? Absolutely? But this notion that,
like you know, he somehow was not worthy of being
drafted or the opportunity to play in the NFL. That
just doesn't jive with what I saw for those twelve
thirteen saturdays last year at Colorado. Just let me ask
you big picture and again understanding that Joe Flacco's the
(09:16):
guy that whatever, what do you expect from tonight? But
more importantly, maybe the next few weeks as we kind
of ramp up training camp, they figure out the roster situation,
and then you know the rest, you know, we'll see
how well.

I just think we're going to see a football player
in March. There is a lot from the end of
your college career to your first preseason game. A lot
goes on. Yeah, working out, sometimes, you play in the Bowls,
the Senior Bowls or whatever. You have training, you pick
(09:53):
an agent, you buy some stuff, right, you go through
the whole, but the combine the whole. There's a lot
going on, and relatively a three month period, sure you
look at it, we never just break it down like that,
but in three months, your whole world changes, and.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
So it's a lot to deal with.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
You're just like, oh, this and that, and so you
get to a point where you're kind of in a
tailspind like your head.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Is all over the place. You're trying to figure things out.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
You get drafted, you go into mini camp OTA's and
then when training camp starts, the world slows down completely.
It literally stops, because now everything is scheduled, regimented, there
is no uncertainty every day.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
This is what's happening. This is where you're going.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
You got meetings eight am waits, training room, practice, nap,
lunch meetings, practice, dinner meetings, and so as the world
slows down, you can now hone in and focus on
that thing that got you here, the thing that you
(11:07):
do so well. And I'm looking forward to seeing that,
and you'll do in all of the young players.

First series, by the way, a three and out run play.
On play one, play two, Shadoor hits a receiver in
the hands and it's dropped. Play three, it was about
a third and eight and he hits a receiver about
a yard short of the first down stick. So it's
a punt. And now the Carolina Panthers ball. We will
not be doing play by play of a you know,
of a preseason Browns Panthers game, but do think it's

noteworthy obviously because of who's starting with the Cleveland Browns.
