So it's a perfect day to be reunited with. That's right,
and it feels so good. And get talking about the weekend.
I was in Cleveland for the National Association of Black
Journalists convention known as the NABJ. You know, before people

(02:47):
knew what it really stood for, a lot of people
tried to sign up for that when they heard NABJ,
and then they realized.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
It was the National Association of Black Journalists.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
I want to speak on who No, I'm just saying okay, yeah, no,
I'm just saying.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
And we and we should say, let's welcome in. We
have a great show, but let's welcome in the odd
couple of crew. We wouldn't be able to do this
find radio program without them. Rob g as our producer,
Alex is our engineer, Steve de Segre at the anchor desk, and.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
A live it's our social media guru. So we'll.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Get into everybody. We're all here and we're gonna have
a good time for the next three hours. But Cleveland
was fantastic. I really had a good time. And and
Alex I slipped, I'm not even gonna sit here in front.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
I slipped.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
I hadn't had a drink since February. I hadn't had
bread since February. I had a Glizzie in my mouth.
Here we go, Come on, man, I slipped?

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Why did you slip? What happened? Pressure? Yeah, peer pressure?

Speaker 8 (04:02):
Rob?

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Do you want the pictures? There was too.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Many, you know, young women, loud music and alcohol around
and I couldn't resist.

Speaker 7 (04:10):
So the atmosphere pooled you in, yes and spit you out.
And I was like, I was like, okay.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
I'm just I'm gonna partake, but I'm okay, I'll be
You're doing good. Yeah, I'm back on my I had
some baked fish early in Tilapia.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
I'm gonna do the right thing, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
So got two months uh before the press box naming,
which was a big moment in my life. So that's
what I want to, you know, make sure I look
Dencent for that. And so I'm good. So all right,
a lot of stuff to get to and.

Speaker 6 (04:41):
Rob means nothing, now, Rob, I know, I mean, it
means nothing, nothing, not one true.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
Because Alex, when we on October fifth, did we say
sixth that Monday the sixth, we're gonna go and we're
gonna celebrate that, and we're gonna get cheesecake, which I
still I haven't had, but we're gonna go to cheesecake fast.
We're gonna celebrate the press box name. And because I'll
be back from Connecticut by that, you come invite me
this time. I'm going to invite you. I'm telling you, Monday, Monday,

(05:11):
October sixth.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Is the day. But I will invite you. Okay, cool, all.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Right, Rob, g uh let us get started here. And
the quarterback tiers were announced and crazy as it might sound,
Rob G will set the table for us. I think
it's pretty lazy, and these executives are just they still

(05:39):
live in They think it's a lifetime achievement award, not
what are we watching today exactly?

Speaker 9 (05:49):
And Rob G, you can lay it out and well
you don't know which way we're going. Sure, so you
mentioned it. The athletics annual QB Tiers came out earlier
on Monday, and actually Mike Sande's gonna be on the
show this week talking about Front of the Show Mike Sando.
But as you mentioned, rob the tiers are out, and surprise, surprise,
Patrick Mahomes topped the list for the fifth consecutive season.

(06:10):
Named a unanimous Tier one quarterback for the fifth consecutive season,
one short of.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Aaron Rodgers' record.

Speaker 10 (06:15):
Pretty impressive for that one.

Speaker 11 (06:17):
What's interesting though about this is that three anonymous coaches
were all quoted in the piece about Patrick Mahomes, and
if you listen to the commentary, they're almost leading you
down a track that would suggest maybe he shouldn't be
Tier one. Here's number one anonymous offensive coordinator, Patrick Mahomes says, quote,
I think Mahomes is the best quarterback to ever live,

(06:39):
but the gap is smaller than it was a year ago.
Anonymous GM says, quote, Mahomes is the best quarterback in
the world, but Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson a better individual seasons.
In fairness, the infrastructure around Patrick has erode it last,
but not least.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Anonymous head coach on Patrick Mahomes says.

Speaker 11 (06:57):
Quote, Patrick Mahomes obviously still a one, but he's winning
out of need at the end of games.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
That's what it's about.

Speaker 11 (07:03):
But Burrow, Lamar and Josh played better than him in
quarters one through.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Four, and that's why I say it's lazy. Patrick Mahomes
is not n ot a Tier one quarterback. He has
not played like a Tier one quarterback Carrie. Not for
last year, for the last two seasons. For the last

(07:31):
two seasons he has regressed and exhibit A. And that's
why I say all these executives or whatever they're living
in the past, they are and they think that they
can't say anything against Patrick because he's one. I get it,
he's one MVPs and he started his career like a
house on fire. But they're not really looking at the

(07:52):
numbers or being honest and I'll ask you this carry,
How can your team be fifteen and two last year
and you get zero first place votes for MVP zero?
Is this not a quarterback league? Or am I wrong?

(08:13):
It's a quarterback league? How in the world did nobody
say Patrick Mahomes his numbers weren't there. His numbers aren't there.
It's not a Lifetime Achievement award? Can we stop? It's
okay to say Patrick's not the best quarterback anymore. It
doesn't mean that he's a dog or he's terrible. It

(08:36):
just means, right now, Lamar had a better year.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Than he had the year.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
He's won the MVPs three years in a row, he'd
been the first All Pro quarterback?

Speaker 4 (08:49):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 5 (08:52):
Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes had the same numbers.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
You listen to people on it, Oh, Aaron Rodgers washed up?
He has the same numbers. She's tier three on this
list and.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
He's tier three, and they're saying Patrick Mahomes is unanimous
tier one. I mean, come on and let me just
give you some numbers. I'll let you go last two
seasons Mahomes, and then I don't even want to mention
coming off that super Bowl we had like a ten
point seven QBR you know, I mean, like an awful
But here it is as a past of the last

(09:22):
two seasons touchdowns, he's averaging No, no, I'm looking at
interceptions nine point six. Those were early in the good years.
Now it's up to twelve point five. And the same
thing with the yards. It was almost five thousand yards.
Now it's close to the four thousand touchdowns down twelve

(09:45):
a year.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
I mean, like, what are they watching?

Speaker 5 (09:48):
But Carrie, I guess they feel compelled to just look
at things from the past. Because Patrick Mahomes is not
a Tier one quarterback. I'm based off of his play. Okay,
you can't base everything off what you just saw. I know,
and I just agreed with you on the league. Is

(10:09):
what have you've done for me lately? That's one hundred
percent true.

Speaker 7 (10:11):
That's for everybody else one hundred percent tul But I'll
tell you this, when you talk about tier one quarterbacks
him as far as him being unanimous, he's not. There's
the top four guys, Patrick Mahomes, Burrows, Allen and Lamar Jackson.
On any given Sunday, either one of those guys can
be the number one quarterback in the league. Right, And
so when you say something unanimous, that means there should

(10:33):
be without a shadow of a doubt that guy is
levels above the others. And it's just not the case anymore.
The last couple of years you said it. Lamar Jackson
has outplayed him, for sure. Joe Burrow last year definitely
outplayed him, Josh Allen out played him last and ye
winning an MVP and split vote year.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
I just don't even understand. Yeah, it's just the.

Speaker 7 (10:53):
Only thing that I don't agree with here is the
unanimous thing. I mean as far as his talent, who
he is, what he can be any given down. If
there's a third down in the fourth quarter and the
team needs a first down, I'm going Patrick Mahomes, right,
So he still has that cachet he needs, he needs
his players around him to be a little bit better.
But again, at the top two quarterback, you obviously raise

(11:14):
your talent, and he has done that in certain moments,
just not overall overall. He's not the unanimous guy. And
that's what my that's what I would take from this.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Here's a super.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
Bowl eleven point four QBR was the second loss of
any game during his NFL career.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
He was bad in the first half.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
My homes posted career worst passer rating ten point seven
passing first downs one.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
I just said first half.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Yeah, George per attempt two point four, George per completion
five point five. Uh, the longest completion was eleven year old.
I could go on and on and on all right.

Speaker 7 (11:49):
Rob, But wait a minute, so can you name any
one of his targets besides Travis Kelce.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
No, but great players elevate, great players elevate are That's
all they say about Tom Brady.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
So sorry, Oh he does to have anybody. That guy
was working at dunkin Donuts last week. That's what they always. Okay, No,
but that that's always the argument.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
And then I would say before last year for Lamar,
you you be all of his receivers are a third
tier receiver, not anymore. But I'm saying early on and
obviously with Derek Henry that also improved it. And you
know what, he took his game to even a bigger
level and had an unbelievable year. He had four interceptions,
three hit receivers.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (12:30):
You know that you watched the game, he only had
one Like you would say like it was his fault
interception last year.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
I just think we'd fall in love with guys and
we don't want to admit or we feel like if
you say anything less, like you're disrespecting him.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
I'll tell you.

Speaker 7 (12:48):
Why they do that, because when people go out on
limbs and say somebody is a unanimous decision, they don't
want their decision to look bad. It's more it's it's
that more than anything. It's like it's like you're having
to take you don't want to take to be wrong.
But but but him, Marty think we don't do it
with Lebron.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Okay, nobody he's not the best player in the league anymore.
He's still playing, Yes, Okay, he's putting up. Nobody thinks
he's the best player in the league. We didn't do
it Michael Jordan when he went to the Wizards, nobody
said he was the best player. Okay. So I'm saying,
at some point you gotta look at it. And I
look at Patrick Mahomes. I see something very similar to Brady.

(13:22):
Where Brady went to nine years without winning or whatever.
I see that coming because they've been to the Super
Bowl a few times, and now the team. I don't
think Andy Weed's getting older, you know what I mean?
You start losing pieces, things start to happen. Guys aren't
the same Kelsey Ripe. This is probably his last year.
Like all these things start to happen, and then all
of a sudden you're in a different spot. But I

(13:43):
thought it with this, this is over the top. It's
lazy eight seven seven ninety nine. On Fox. I'm fired
up eight seven seven sixty three sixty nine. You already
know it, you know, a week off and no radio
to yell at. I was just yelling at the convention.
People love look gluten. Yeah, that gluten got me worked over, Alex.

(14:06):
My stomach was just bubbling, you know what I mean, after.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
A little bread. You know, I'm okay, good? All right?

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Is Patrick Mahomes still a Tier one quarterback or is
he living off his reputation these days? We'll continue the
conversation next with you on This Magic City Monday. Rob
Parker Carrie Rhoades in for Kelvin Washington. Yes, I'm working.
I'm back right here on Fox Sports Radio. And you
know what you need to do, Alex?

Speaker 4 (14:32):
What's that Rob stick?

Speaker 6 (14:33):
And stay if you also live in Fantasyland and think
Patrick Mahomes is still Jordan asking the us of A.

All right, we want you to get you involved. Eighty
seven to seven ninety nine on Fox. It's real simple.
Is Patrick Mahomes coming off of last year's performance a
Tier one quarterback going in not a lifetime achie off
of last year's performance on the field.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
I say, no, Carrie just has a problem with him
being unanimous, right, and that's fine. I say, no way,
know how he should be Tier two? And if they
did it without the names and just went by the stats,
there's no way he would be in the first tier,
no way?

Speaker 4 (16:22):
All right? Eight seven seven ninety nine, Oh Fox? Who
we got care? He got Mark from Sacramento, your own
the okable Man.

Speaker 14 (16:27):
How are you are you guys doing today?

Speaker 8 (16:30):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (16:30):
What's up? Mark?

Speaker 11 (16:32):
Are you doing?

Speaker 14 (16:33):
Man?

Speaker 8 (16:33):
Congratulations?

You and mister Bisauh doing big things. I said, you
guys are doing good stuff, man, congratulations, can keep it up.

Speaker 5 (16:38):
Oh yeah, we had a great time at the wedding.
Were going to talk about that coming up?

Speaker 14 (16:42):
Yep, Yeah, I agree with you. Actually, I've pinpointed back
too and I think you're tied it together. Is Tyree
Hill left, his stats that went down. He hasn't been
the same quarterback.

Speaker 15 (16:54):
You know why.

Speaker 8 (16:55):
They don't have.

Speaker 14 (16:55):
That that that drop back go deep like he used
to and that.

Speaker 8 (17:00):
Was Tyreek Hill. Since Tyreek Hill left, they haven't had
that big play, uh, the big player exposiveness. They've been
more of a Deacon dunk yes, walking defense type of
type of team. They've won a lot of games last
year with the defense. He was horrible in some of
those games.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
They won one hundred percent. One hundred percent.

Speaker 14 (17:19):
I think I put this happened.

Speaker 8 (17:20):
I think he's a maybe he could be because he's winning.
He could be a lord tier one, but he's sure the.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Top of the unanimous one.

Speaker 14 (17:29):
No, no way.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
No, how all right? Thanks?

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Mark appreciated eight seven, seven ninety nine On Fox.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
We got Jay from Georgia. You're on with the odd couple.

Speaker 14 (17:37):

Speaker 4 (17:37):

Speaker 16 (17:39):
Yeah? We're going on here?

Speaker 4 (17:41):
What's up?

Speaker 13 (17:41):
Jay?

Speaker 4 (17:41):
How you oh doing?

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Fan?

Speaker 16 (17:44):
Man? Appreciate it? Hey, Look, I agree with everything Martin
just said. Rob. I agree with you, and I think
Petrick Mahome is the most overrated quarterback I've ever seen.
Like see people just lay they got run around seeing
Tyreek Hill left. He've been saying, care you you.

Speaker 13 (18:00):
Here.

Speaker 16 (18:00):
He was a great safe thing your day. The way
these people just let this guy right around and.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
You want to talk about you are absolutely correct, my brother.
It's crazy.

Speaker 16 (18:10):
This quarterback pier thing is like so like, let's be
for real, Rob they got too free and Sat paffer
is Pierre what you.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
Already know we're talking about Stat Pafford right there.

Speaker 16 (18:22):
Lesbie is so for real right now, Like I don't
know who be making up the elist or whatever, but please.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
Stop it, no doubt, Thank you appreciate that. Jay eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox, we got.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
MJ from New Orleans. You know the couple. Man, how
are you? What's up?

Speaker 8 (18:38):
M J? It's going on?

Speaker 4 (18:40):
How y'all doing great?

Speaker 15 (18:42):
How are you welcome back? Robin's congratulations on that up
something getting named on side of the building. I don't
know how much you had to say to do that, but.

Speaker 5 (18:50):
Hey, all I want you to know is I'm broke
right now. I'll tell you that you know.

Speaker 15 (18:56):
And now you want from playing left so on five
of building? Hey, man made it a comferenent, Yes.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
Yes, no, no doubt, and I didn't even I think
I said this before. It'll be the first building on
campus with a black person's name.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Morning. Wow, it's pretty amazing.

Speaker 13 (19:10):
Ye, Okay, here we go. Roberts got a diapault and
you can stilled the big and Chris.

Speaker 15 (19:15):
Bru saw it on the Jordan's Argument.

Speaker 13 (19:17):
Three years ago or whatever. But hey, the Coons as
a season crystals success last the season lassa AMT championship
game in each of his seventh thirty years. That's four today,
the piscical dominants least NFL, and the passing garde plus
down it's becoming a start. In two thousand and eighteen,
also demonstrating assistancy on third down, Hoste Parmers MJ.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
I hear you, MJ. I'm gonna ask you one question,
I MJ. One question? Are you there all right? One question?
Last last year? Okay? And what rob g what were
they thirteen and zero at one point? What? What like
it was? Somebody? Okay, MJ.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
You start the season thirteen and zero, you go fifteen
and two in a quarterback league and Patrick Mahomes doesn't
get one first place vote for MVP.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
How is that possible?

Speaker 14 (20:12):
MJ?

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Because he didn't play well. Voter nod stop stop stop,
I'm gonna stop you. You know why I'm gonna stop.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
You know why Brett Brett Fard won three MVPs in
a row. So I'm not buying that. I think that's
that's a cop OUTD that's a cop out.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
I'm not buying it.

Speaker 15 (20:33):
I'm gonna get you another.

Speaker 5 (20:34):
No, he didn't have to even win. He didn't get
one vote, right, he didn't get one. Forget about winning, MJ.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
He didn't get one. Thanks for the call. Thanks for
the call. We got, thank you. We got truck or
duck St. Louis, Oh, truck or duck from Saint Louis.
All right, yeah, yeah, you know the odd couple.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
All right, right home, first time out.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
Hey, we want to hear that hard. Let's go, first
time caller.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
There we go, Yes, sir, uh, I ain't man. I've
been a Chiefs fan since eighty cent man, and I'm
gonna say this is him, ladship in that Super Bowl.
I do believe Mahomes. There's a trip one quarterback in
that Super Bowl. The Eagles that beat him, Andy Reid,

(21:22):
mcmaggie and the Offense of Life beat Maholes.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
Yeah, okay, that's always the case, right, Okay, it's never him.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
He's never had a bad day right at the office.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
No, no, no, I ain't gonna say he never had
a bad day. But at the same time, if you
look at what he had to work with.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
No, but before the Super Bowl, before the Super Bowl,
how could he go thirteen and fifteen and two and
not get one vote for MVP?

Speaker 4 (21:46):
Just answer that one question, truck of duck.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Look, look, no answer that.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
How Look you're telling me, no, they won't you if
it's about winning. They were thirteen to zero and fifteen
and two. He didn't get one vote. He played horrible
last year he did.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Look at you got, you got. You gotta take an instance, man,
the roster that he had.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
No, I'm not buying that. There's still one game. You're
telling me that he's money when it matters. I always
say sports has a short menu wins and losses.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
So he won.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Hey, hey, when it comes to a one quarterback, despite
your offensive line, please please, you know you you could.

Speaker 5 (22:30):
Say that about every quart Every bad quarterback doesn't have
an offensive line.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
Doesn't have to stop it.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
I mean, they could use that for everybody yeah, but
he got zero MVP votes. All right, yeah, give me
Josh Allen's receivers. I'll wait, go ahead, give me, give
me his receivers. Let me name them, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Yeah I thought what I thought? Thank you? Yeah, okay,
thank you.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
That that in two ninety you'll get you on the
subway in New York. Okay, he had nothing, man, All right,
let's get you caught up with Steve the saga with.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
That pressure, I wouldn't name one either, Do that right,
that's how you gotta do it. Yes, right, you know what?

Speaker 5 (23:10):
And I always say when he has a fifty thousand
watt radio station called me back.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
All right, thank you. It is the couple on a
Magic City Monday.

Speaker 5 (23:31):
Back from a little NABJ convention last week and fired
up Kerrie Roseen for Kelvin Washington, Rob G.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Kelvin will be back tomorrow, Is that right? Yes, he
won't be in studio, but he'll be back.

Speaker 5 (23:45):
Okay, he'll be back tomorrow. Saw him down at Cleveland
at the NABJ. Yeah, so he was down there and
he wound up taking a picture. I was up in
the DJ booth VIP on our clubs.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
You got, I'm gonna show your pictures.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
Great, and we're going to talk about the Martin Wie's
wedding that I went to on Sunday Saturday, I should
say came back and did that. But Lamar Jackson, rob
G finally he was put in the first tier after
two MVPs and then the one that they stole from
him last year, he finally gets elevator.

Speaker 11 (24:20):
Yeah, three first Team All pros, two MVPs, one of
them missed near unanimous by one vote, right, and he
should have won it last year.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
We talked about on the show.

Speaker 11 (24:30):
In fact, one of the respondents to this QB tier article,
not a mious offensive coordinator, said if number one he
should have won the MVP.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Everybody knows that it would have been his third.

Speaker 11 (24:39):
You can't have three MVPs, still be in your prime
and not be a one.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
It's ridiculous. And you noticed because you know the kid,
and I'll say kid, but you know, dude, he must
see TV. I talk about why I don't watch the
Red zone. I'm not a red zone guy. I want
to watch the game, saying I don't want to miss
I want to watch him play the whole game. I
don't want them to come in and out and they're

(25:06):
showing other stuff and only the throws and plays that
he makes carry.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
He's the best quarterback in.

Speaker 7 (25:12):
The league, is rob Remember when he was a rookie
second year and I would call in on your show, yep,
and I told you, guys, the guy can throw the ball.
I don't know whether that like that misconception or that whatever.
That narrative was.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
The general manager, the Bill POLLI remember Bill Polian said
he should go trial for receiver. Do you remember that?
It was the biggest disrespect I'd ever heard. He should
he should run routes, what due? It was ridiculous, and
he's in the Hall of Fame to will.

Speaker 7 (25:42):
But look, the thing about that was also the fact
that he couldn't read defenses or something like that. He
played in the pro style offense since college with Bobby Petrino.
It wasn't like he was running the running gun, the
quick stuff like Mahomes running the.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Text attack exactly. No, No, he was letting it fly.

Speaker 7 (25:58):
So the fact that it's taking this long for him
to get the respect around the league, especially from GMS
and other coaches. I think the players always respected them,
but the fact that he's getting this just due now
after all these accolades where they accolades where they have
to put him in, it's just ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
I remember to me last year, what really got me
was Joe Burrow threw nine touchdowns against the Ravens and
didn't win a game, and didn't win a game because
Lamar was that good.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
On the other side, think about that.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
How many quarterbacks could you say through nine touchdown passes
and two games against an opponent and didn't win either game.

Speaker 7 (26:36):
Man, your defense has to be probably historically bad, which
Cincinnatis is.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
But you know what I'm saying, it's going to be
hard to do twice. It was amazing. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
I don't last year and carry this was rob g
you could jump in on this, but.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
I was disappointed.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
And this is where I have always pushed back with
former players because I believe that they were rooting for
Josh Allen and they wanted him to win, and what
they did was a great disservice the first time and
what what robbed you? Like fifteen years that the guy
who did in two decades and two decades who didn't
won First All Pro didn't win the MVY first time?

Speaker 4 (27:18):
Ever? What are you doing splitting the votes?

Speaker 5 (27:20):
My my thing is if you really believe Josh Allen
was better, had a better season, then he should have
won First Team All Pro and he should have won
m VP, right in no way you could vote one way?
And then who are the guys rob g uh uh
Dan Orloski?

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (27:37):
Uh o cho from whom say?

Speaker 4 (27:43):
Yeah from Fox? Formerly from Fox, formerly from Fox. That's right?

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (27:49):
That can't do everybody formerly for Fox to take me
all day?

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Sean Parker, Yeah, I'm on that list, right, I've on
that list too.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
I was ruled was the other they were the most
prominent one because it but you know what I'm saying, right,
And I was like, dude, you can't do that. You
can't split your vote, Like what are you like? Oh no,
let's give we can't take it totally from Lamar's and
we'll give him this, but we'll give Josh the MVP.
But wasn't that predictable though?

Speaker 11 (28:15):
Like we talked about it on the show, leading up
to this whole thing that they decided that the MVP
was done, Like Week fourteen.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Yeah, it was done.

Speaker 11 (28:24):
Once he had that in the snow passing to Cooper
and he flips it back to him and he superman's
into the end zone. Like and then the game against
the Rams where he has like five touchdowns and they lost.
But they decided then that he was gonna win the MVP.
It wudn't matter what Lamar.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
Lamar had if you look at his numbers, crazy Rob
g was it forty three touchdowns four inner South.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
It's gonna blow your mind right.

Speaker 11 (28:50):
Twenty twenty four season, Lamara Jackson, already a two time MVP,
his best season ever as a passer, completed sixty seven
percent of his passes career high in passing yards four thousand,
one seventy two touchdowns forty one career low interception rate
zero point eight percent would have been even lower if
his guys could pick the ball.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
That hit offf for suit.

Speaker 11 (29:10):
He finished the leader of the year, leading the league
in yards per attempt, touchdown rate, and passer rating. The
one to nineteen passer rating also the fourth highest in
NFL history. In the process, can the first player in
NFL history to throw at least forty touchdown passes and
fewer than five picks in the season.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
I'm imagining, did you have rob just under a thousand?

Speaker 13 (29:31):
Right?

Speaker 5 (29:31):
And he had that and still for some way and
when they're the quarterback rating doesn't hoo to four. Aaron
Rodgers has two of us, Lamar has one and paid
Manny the other one.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
Those are the people what and that's not even counting.
Last season was great.

Speaker 11 (29:49):
Here's two more career stats, you know, for the caro
who doesn't think that Lamar is a great passer. Lamar
Jackson has four games with the perfect passer rating, most
ever in the NFL. He's also totaled seven games in
which he's recorded more touchdown passes than incompletions, which is
also an NFL record.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
I was sick of that. That was terror.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
That was the one that got you, yeah, because I
was like, I don't believe in you can't change your vote,
that's my thing.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
But he had to do all of that to finally
get Tier one and he's easily.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
Should be Tier one, easy and we're there coming up,
all right, we're gonna do a little Shekel city.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
But I hate to say it.

Speaker 5 (30:34):
I'm not so sure that Martin Weiss's marriage is legitimate.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Oh, we're gonna get into that coming up now.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
It is the Odd Couple robes right here on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Look at it even like, what did he just say?

Speaker 5 (30:55):
Yes, Fox Sports Radios, Martin Weiss just got married on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
I'm just and you don't think it's I don't think
it's legitimate. We'll get to that and much more. You
know what you need to do, stick and stay is
the man in ordain In the US.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (31:24):
It is The Odd Couple on a Magic City Monday,
Rob Parker carry Rhoads in for Kelvin Washington and you
know what, It's time for a little Shekel City.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
To Shekel City. The whole base for Rob Parker's daily
dix against the spread.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
Night Yeah, Dodgers best bet minus one and a half
to take it on the Angels and Annah Tonight Dodgers
minus one and a half.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
Also going with Houston plus one and a half.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
They're taking on the Red Hot Red Sox in Houston,
and I'm gonna take Texas the Rangers minus one and
a half. They're hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks. So remember I
got the Dodgers minus one and a half, Astros plus
one and a half, and the Rangers minus one and
a half. And Carrie, remember this, I'm not telling you

(32:28):
who to bet on, Hal, I'm telling you.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
Who I bet on.

Speaker 5 (32:32):
All right, Uh, it is now time for the tire
Rack player today.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Two flip on a deep right. It is back, so back?
How is it?

Speaker 6 (32:47):
Collins walks it off against the Mets.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
You can't make it up.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
The Mets are so bad. Oh my god, they'd be terrible.
They lost like eleven out of twelve or something. On
the player today. That's a brew radio player of the day,
brought to you by tire Rack. For over forty years,
tire Rack has been helping customers find the right tires
for how, what and where they drive. Ship fast and
free back by free Road, has a protection with convenient

(33:15):
installation options like mobile tire installation, tire rack dot Com,
the way tire buying should be and carry you know this,
I went to Martin Weiss's wedding, uh huh or on
Saturday Muriel his new wife and whatnot. And matter of fact,
his best man, Alex Paneda is in studio with us.

(33:36):
But I have questions about the marriage and whether or
not it's legitimate in the state of California. And the
reason I do is because Chris Bruce Sard officiated the wedding.
Is the man the past, Yes, and you know, as

(33:57):
you ordain and the state is it legal?

Speaker 4 (33:59):
All that kind of stuff. You know what Rob, I
need to know, right? Did you did you have these
concerns going into the into the wedding? I should have
spoke up, you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Said I.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
And here's the problem.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
You know, I think people are like, Chris is a
man of the cloth, right, But what people don't know
is that when he was in college he was an
upholsterry salesman.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
And that's the kind of cloth that he is.

Speaker 8 (34:28):
You know.

Speaker 5 (34:32):
Let's say, Alex, hop on the mic tail, hold on,
hold on, We'll put you on.

Speaker 10 (34:39):
There you go, Hello, Hello America.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
There you go. What's on? Alex?

Speaker 10 (34:43):
Happy to be here?

Speaker 4 (34:44):
Yes? And Alex was the best man at the wedding.
The best man.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
Yes, and he's in town. And uh, you get my
concerns that Chris, he Chris.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Actually did a great job. I will say that.

Speaker 17 (34:55):
Listen. I'll tell you one thing. Chris Broussard has you
beat on Lebron Jame Games. He's right on Lebron. He's
got all the credibility he needs. Now here we go
all the credibility.

Speaker 4 (35:06):
We can't cut your mic off.

Speaker 5 (35:08):
I just want you to know that that was a
mistake to put the man off.

Speaker 14 (35:12):
Rob.

Speaker 4 (35:13):
He got his moment, he got his man. He was
jugg I'm a shooter, and here here it is.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
I'm the guy who introduced you and Martin together so
that you could be the best man at the web.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
And I will say this. Alex did mention that when
he did his speech. That was pretty nice.

Speaker 10 (35:28):
Listen.

Speaker 17 (35:28):
I got a lot to say, well, man, Rob Parker
is the best terrible sports takes, absolutely terrible sports takes.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Does he helping us hurt the radio show?

Speaker 10 (35:39):
I mean, the ridiculous things he has to say.

Speaker 17 (35:42):
I'm not even gonna talk about Lebron James, but the
greatest of all.

Speaker 5 (35:45):
Time, Tom Brady here, I already knew it, not five,
not six, seven seven seven carry.

Speaker 17 (35:55):
I just have to bring that up because the guy
brought tom Brady's name into this.

Speaker 10 (36:01):
What do you bring his name in for it?

Speaker 13 (36:02):
Right?

Speaker 4 (36:02):
Right? So it's gonna do.

Speaker 17 (36:04):
But all right, so I'm gonna get back to it.
The wedding was phenomenal. You know, Martin Weiss gets no better.
I'm gonna pat myself on the back. I did an
amazing job as a best Yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
There you go. It was. It was.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
It was really nice, beautiful setting in Fullerton and great
time and I know his family and it was just great.

Speaker 17 (36:23):
Everybody was phenomenal. And you know, before we get out
of here, shout out Tomorrow and Marial congratulations.

Speaker 4 (36:28):

Speaker 17 (36:30):
Going to the south of France. They're going to yet
They're going to do something cool.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
Good.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
That's what they should do. Never cheat yourself on your honeymoon.
We went to Hawaii and Japan.

Speaker 11 (36:41):
I think was no, no, no, no, no, do not
bury the lead rd What oh we went to Hawaiian Japan.

Speaker 4 (36:48):
It was so romantical. What did you do when you
were in Hawaii?

Speaker 2 (36:50):
Rap?

Speaker 4 (36:51):
I did watch Tiger Woods win the mask? Yes? I
consummate the marriage? Did I blame Tiger for me not
having a long marriage because you know, today it was fun.

Speaker 10 (37:04):
Thank you.

Speaker 17 (37:05):
Before I get out of here, I just got to
say I dropped the Cornball brother reference into the speech
and it was.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
All right.

Speaker 5 (37:13):
So so so, rob G, what do you think about
Chris actually doing?

Speaker 4 (37:19):
And Alex?

Speaker 5 (37:20):
What do you just think about him him performing me?
They you know, coming from New York flying out?

Speaker 4 (37:25):
Who is that? Big G?

Speaker 5 (37:28):
No no clapping in here a home run even though
he got a Yankee jersey clapping on this show.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
Stop clapping, turn his mike off. No clapping?

Speaker 11 (37:38):
All right, Rob I talked to Chris a few months
ago about this whole situation, and uh, even Chris was surprised, Like, man,
I was ordained like in three minutes.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
So I don't know how good we should feel about this.
That's what I'm saying. You can get you can get
ordained at the y m c A. So yeah, it's
it's you know, it's it's a it's a deal.

Speaker 6 (37:58):
Alex did a legiti marriage or not. That's as legit
as Joel Oldstein's megachurch, thet one down the street.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
Yes, you mean the church that was closed when there
was a disaster in and they would't let people in.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
Sorry, these golden chapels. You can't cry.

Speaker 17 (38:19):
Before I get out of here, I just gotta say, man, Rob,
thank you so much. You are the very best. Man
gets no better.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
Thank you.
