hit me with the sad sound, the sad song. I'm sad. No,
I got used to I believe Elijah's off. I just
don't think that. Well, Soager stepped your game up. I
(03:05):
don't think Saga working today. Do we know? How dare?
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Both of them are not allowed to be off? That's
like Batman and Robin taking the day. I'll be okay,

Speaker 3 (03:15):
All right?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (03:17):
How we not?
Speaker 5 (03:18):
I'm just I got used to it, all right, got
a haircut that was already for him.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Mary told me I was cute. Mary says that to
all the young men out there. Well, she says, she said,
I was what you said you. I was dope boy fresh,
which is a compliment. First off, let's not for any
of those allegations out there. Look what I was saying
about the targe. They're already down three nothing to Atlanta.
How we played the right song there? Wow, it's just unbelieva.
They might choke this down, Kelvin.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
They got nine games left, three against Atlanta, three in
Cleveland and three in Boston.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
I'm just saying, all right, it's all right.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
They're gonna be all right, all right, listen, as long
as they get in. They got a chance to win one,
but date bars, what if they lose? They could not
They might not make the play. But forget about the
walk card.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
They might not be in. Can you imagine a year
that they have and not make it in?
Speaker 5 (04:09):
You get a little too excited, I'm be honest with you.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Wings. Yeah, they might clip their wings lately.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
All right, let's welcome into because we wouldn't be able
to do this find radio program. Anybody going to work
but me? And you know Ian is our producer. Ian
one of my students from us.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
What do you mean one of your students? Seventy five
percent of this building is a former student.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
No, that's not true, Ian, right, Ian knows, I mean
it's true. But that fight on. There you go USC's
just a.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Labor Are you kidding? He gets paid, it's all free Alley.
Maybe I was gonna say, maybe that's why Rob's recruit everybody.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
No, Steve the Sager's at the anchor death And I'm
going to say, Saga is our social media Google? Who
is who Saga? Yeah, we need to know? Can you
text us let us know? We didn't hear from him,
so I'm assuming he's off as well.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Well.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Also, I need to know because I might be here
doing some crazy, might pick my nose, I might do something.
I need to know if I'm on YouTube or not? Man, Okay,
And of course on the ones and twos huh all right?
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Uh so we are in full effect on this funky
flashback Friday. The odd Cuple, of course, sponsored by tire
Rack and for over forty years, tire Rak has been
helping customers find the right tires for how, what and
where they drive, ship fast and free back by the
free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile
(05:39):
tire installation. They come right to you tyraq dot com.
The way tire buying should be right, all right? We
had today, well it was Kelsey was talking about the
touch point do you have this Ian. Okay, so Ian
will set this up for us. And he's not offended
if I say set the table for all you in
(06:00):
I'm not. I gets very offended as if I'm saying
he's set the table because he's Mexican.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Caught him, but Mexican. That was crazy. He's just asking
from the set to oh no, it's not go ahead?
Y all right.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Well there's no easy way to transition from that, but
let's start with this. So Jason Kelce was on a
Philadelphia radio show earlier this week, it was actually yesterday morning,
and he was talking about the toushbush. I never missed
that radio so yeah, I'm sure you don't. Rob They
asked him. They asked him about the Toush push and
whether you know it's going to be banned over the
course of the next year here because there's they've been
(06:38):
catching a lot of flak, especially because of their win
over the Chiefs, got controversial with all the false starts
and stuff, and Jason Kelsey had this to say, I.
Speaker 6 (06:45):
Think the play is done. I think that the play
was going to be done last year. I think that
there's a lot of people within the league and multiple
levels that want to play to be gone, which is fine.
I think we'll still go back to renning quarterbacks. Tha,
I'm sure they'll figure out ways to be successful. I'm
not really that concerned with it. To be very candid.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
I'm just gonna say this, this is shame on the
NFL and all the cry baby teams that can't figure
out what they're gonna do.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
That's what this is about. It's not about the referees.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
If they blew the what is it a legal motion
or whatever, that's on them call it.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Like that, it hasn't been a legal motion on every
single touch push for all these last few years. On
that one, Okay, they blew it. They blew the call.
And this is what a reaction is because they can't
figure it out or they don't know how to stop it,
and they're mad because the Eagles have been to the
Super Bowl twice in the last three years.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
This is all jealousy. Come up with your own.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Play, figure something out on how to get it stopped.
You guys are all these football geniuses. You're the ones
who brag about sleeping in the football.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Office all night.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
I'm not going home to exactly and that's like a
badge of honor and you're still owing three oh and two.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
What does that all mean? Who are you trying to impress?
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Go home, get a good night's sleep, get up the
hot meal, hug your wife and kids. Oh, I'm not
your football office nineteen hours a day and I sleep
in my office. But I can't stop the tooch push.
So we got to ban it. Did you see that
Tom Brady called it out? It was a legal motion. Yes,
(08:23):
that play was You mean to tell me they've been
doing a legal motion for three years.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Stop cry babies, figure it out.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
You're just mad that they came up with something that's
almost impossible to stop.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
And you can't figure out what to do. That's the issue,
And now what do you want to do? Get rid
of it?
Speaker 5 (08:45):
You know what what I love about this because the
committee has the rules Committee, They go over this stuff
and what should we change. They spend a couple of
weeks doing it over the offseason. And you know what
I love about the Eagles. The Eagles instead of calling
it the touch push, they called it the kiss my
tousch push.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Then they kept doing it.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
They keep doing it, and they do it to the
ninety seven percent success rate so far this season. They're
averaging last forwards a last year was eighty four percent.
And they're doing it double the clip of any other team.
The closest team to do it who is the Bills.
And you know what happened to the Bills. You know
what happened rob They didn't get it. They couldn't do
it in the postseason. A couple of times it cost them.
(09:23):
And so now what's happening is one flaw that I
have for the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
You know what the thing is when you do something good,
but you don't have to do it all the time.
They need it. Caught the hush push.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
They're too loud, they're doing it too much, and they
got caught on national game. Everybody's watching it, and everybody
saw the flaws. Thought whose fault was that. I'm just saying,
now everybody gets to go. We'll look at all these people,
look at the league emotions.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Could it. They're doing it too much. Keep it on
the low. You do it better than anyone by far.
Do it looks use it when you want to, but
use it every now and again. They use it so
much that everybody saw it.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
But they're so successful at it is absolutely a part
of their game. And we're gonna talk a little bit
later on about Jalen Hurts and I'll bring up some
more thoughts to this. But when you just look odd
to dive into the numbers, they're more than anybody else.
They did like one hundred and forty five hundred and
fifty times last year. The next couple was like seventy
seven with the Bills, and a couple of other teams
have tried it, but they're not as good, They're not
(10:21):
as proficient, and I think what's gonna happen rob is
gonna work in reverse for them. I think a large
part of why they didn't ban it this past season,
and we had all the owners arguing about it, we
had Jason Kelce even came in made a presentation for them.
I think it's because ultimately it's what we're saying. So
why I gotta change the rule because of one team?
Y'all all can do it. Everybody can do it, and
(10:42):
I think it's now gonna be the reverse. I think
they're gonna ban it because they're gonna say, well, only
one team is doing it. It's the sense of having
it only one team uses it, and it is bad football.
It's ugly to our eyes. And I think they're gonna
use that and it's actually gonna work in reverse. So
they're gonna be guilty, uh, victims of their own success
with this, and they're gonna get it abolutely gonna get overturned.
I just think it's it's it's a shame. It really,
(11:04):
I've never seen something. It's like Kareem skyhook that only
one person did that.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Did the NBA come out and say you can't be
over seven foot and you can't lob.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
The ball over your head and your left shoulder you hooked.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
This reminds me of like college basketball when they integrated
and then they stopped. You couldn't dunk the ball because
black players could dunk. Oh wait a minute, that was real.
Think about college at all and couldn't dunk the basketball.
Who sat there and go, oh wait a minute, we
need to change that's not fair.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Black guys can dunk.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
Uh, So we need to change the rules so that
you can't dunk basketball.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Think about that doctor J played too when he couldn't
dunk in college?
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Crazy.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
Think about that David Thompson who was small, he like
six or four or something had to jump ahead. One
of the greatest dunkers ever dump just throw it in.
They couldn't dunk.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
So now here we are, we're gonna take away something
that has been good to Philadelphia.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
And then the ones that came out, they were in.
It was their initiative.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
They were a genius in putting this in play, and
no one not having It's not one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
You just told the numbers. No, but it was eighty
four last year.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
It is eighty four years, Okay, so and they won't
end ninety four because if you look at the numbers
all that's what I'm saying. It was two thousand and
two when they started it, ninety three percent, but they
only did it twenty seven times. They've done it one
hundred fifty, I should say over the last three years.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
My bad.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Let me clarify that over the last three years, and
then twenty twenty three was eighty eight percent.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Last year was actually eighty one percent. That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
So it's going down because you got a feel for
familiar with it.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Yes, they have gone up with their usage of it, though,
but it's gone down. You know, they use it forty
eight times last year, forty two of the year before,
twenty seven the year before, and right now, depending on
what you call it, they're at about nearly ten this year,
already in the early part of the season. So we'll
have a longer conversation about this. The usage in Jalen
hurts and litter. But I've just never seen something where
(12:59):
one team was that dominant at something and that everybody
else can't do it at their level.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
And again, it reminds me of Careem in a skyhood.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Yep, all right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven, seven, nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Where are you on this?
Speaker 1 (13:13):
The tush push sour grapes by the rest of the
league because they can't figure it out. Should it just
stay in place and let these guys figure out a
way to stop it or utilize it themselves if they
got a great offensive line right and make that something
a weapon that they can use.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
I don't have an issue with it. I'm cool with it.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
It's gone get rid of They're gonna get rid of
it because it just stylistically, they're gonna say it doesn't
look good, it's not good for TV, is boring, It's gone.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
All right eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 1 (13:44):

touch push Should it be gone? Are they just hating
because the other teams can't do it and the Eagles
do it? It's with such success eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox Who we got.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Let's start with Doug in Chicago. What's up, Doug, You're
on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (15:58):
Hey, guys, how's it going going to it right? Just good? Hey,
I just want to make it clear from Chicago, but
I am a Chargers fan since nineteen eighty. I don't
like the Bears. I just want to make sure everybody.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
In the world.
Speaker 7 (16:10):
Problem. So, my problem with the tush push is this
was a rule change based on something else. So the
rule change was offensive people could now push a pile forward.
If you guys remember some time ago, if if a
running back or somebody with the ball got caught up
and they were going slow, getting ready to go down,
defensive players could go in there and just ram him. Right,
(16:32):
So they said, okay, offensive players can now push the pile.
They can't hold them, they can't hold the running back up,
but they can push the pile. So they didn't institute
a tush push play. They just manipulated the rule to
do this tush push play. So to me, it's not
a play. That's the problem I had with it. It's
not a handoff, it's not a pitch, it's nothing. They
just created this false scrum and then let offensive players push.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
You're running behind the line. What do you mean?
Speaker 1 (17:00):
I mean, I know that that you're being pushed, But
did you take that you take the ball and moving forward?
Speaker 3 (17:05):
How is that not a play?
Speaker 7 (17:09):
I mean, if you want to keep it, as.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
I'm asking you, you're the quarterback, right, I'm just saying, well,
he's saying that they because they literally go hiking and
everybody just pushes Jabe, but not where as a sneak,
like we push forward and you make your own move.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Yeah, I don't know. That's that's that's the difference.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Between if they weren't successful at it, nobody would be
talking about Okay that I'm that serious, Like, not at all.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
Qu In Arizona, you're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up? Cute?
Speaker 8 (17:39):
Hey, what's how are you? I really really enjoy the
show driving home from work for an hour.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
I appreciate you, man, We do. We appreciate that. Que
It means a lot, you know. We try to be
fun and informative and have some fun here.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (17:56):
Man, it's just that. Man. If if the NFL don't shifter,
you know what these teams The way y'all was hollering,
I was hollering louder because it is ridiculous. I don't,
I don't. I don't know when they go to training camp.
(18:17):
But doing training camp, why don't you guys just practice
to twist push for about an hour and get to
learn it? The Eagles, The Eagles gains the NFL something new,
go learn it right? Thank you, I would say, thank you.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
I hear.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
I think the problem the Q, thank you for you, Carl,
appreciate the call. I think the problem is it's Jalen Hurts.
He is great at it. He squats five six pounds.
He is because everybody else can. They try it, and
they do have some success, but not like them because
he is a difference. Everybody has offensive line and everybody
don't have a Jaalen Hurts?
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Who neicks?
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Scott in Pennsyl Tucky. You're in the odd couple. Fox
Sports Radio, what's up, Scott?
Speaker 9 (19:01):
Hey, guys, the best three hours on the air.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
My man, my man, Scott Rod.
Speaker 9 (19:07):
I know you and I both love baseball. How do
you stop a baseball guy from doing a backflip from
a homer? You get him out exactly right. The Washington Commanders,
the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers. Stop the guard
and play. Just stop it, It'll go away exactly.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
And that was my point is if they weren't that
successful at it, nobody would be belly aching and they
probably wouldn't do it as much.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
And Kelvin gave you the numbers. The success rate is
going down as we go. Eighty one it went. It's
eighty one, thanks Scott. Last year. That's a down a
handful of percentage from the year before.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Hey, Bill in Olympia, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (19:47):
This is Bill glad to hear from you.
Speaker 8 (19:49):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Hey, how are you.
Speaker 9 (19:51):
I'm good. I'm gonna be a long.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
Time Dolphins fan struggling to survive it.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Man, Man, y'all looked like you wanted to do something
yesterday for a little bit.
Speaker 8 (20:00):
Oh god, hey man, this push push thing.
Speaker 7 (20:03):
Doug must be a brother from another he's half right,
but hey, come on now, the rules.
Speaker 10 (20:09):
They found a loop pohl in the rules.
Speaker 7 (20:11):
So before we get refrigerated Perry otic retirement playing for
the Dolphins that quarterback.
Speaker 9 (20:17):
Look it, man, The defense cannot push from.
Speaker 7 (20:20):
Behind the big picture is just not fair. The offense
could push thing does.
Speaker 10 (20:26):
Right, but the defense can't.
Speaker 9 (20:28):
So there's no way.
Speaker 7 (20:30):
Before you know, the fringe comes out of retirement that
quarterback for the Dolphins, I'll sign them.
Speaker 10 (20:36):
We'll be doing push play every every play.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
So that's whatever, and that's where. Yeah, when we get
tired a little later on our I have some thoughts
on that. All right, appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
One more real.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
Quick Shan from Sacramento. You're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Sean?
Speaker 10 (20:55):
Yeah, Happy Friday to my uncle from another mother cousin,
Cally my brother's mind.
Speaker 7 (21:00):
Boy, what a mary man we.
Speaker 10 (21:02):
Missed out on YouTube? Man, shout out.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
I know you got new cameras. How many cameras do
we need? I know.
Speaker 10 (21:12):
We need one for the close up when you put
the camera on, man, make sure make sure Elijah get
on that.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Who is doing a great job if you're watching what
we see, like, what's.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Being played like during the time when we're not.
Speaker 10 (21:28):
Talking and and Eliza chatted into the chatty mob.
Speaker 7 (21:32):
My guy's on it.
Speaker 10 (21:33):
He's given live feedback, he sticks and audio for YouTube.
Well he needs he needs a raise. Rob cast that
man out. But really quick on this topic, man, y'all
hit the nail on the head. It's just because it's
Jalen Hurts. When Peyton Manning was out there calling audible,
not allowing the defense to make subs, absolutely draining the
defense on his way to win, nobody was complaining they
(21:54):
didn't have to alter the rules. He found the loophole
and he he he totally exploited it. You gotta let
the Eagles live. And on top of that, man, when
they look for the injury data, there was none to
be found. So now they're trying to blame it on
the referees. This is absolutely the referee fault. Nothing to
do with the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Fly.
Speaker 10 (22:11):
Eagles fly one more championship, championship to Jalen before they
get rid of it.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
Matt, It's definitely get rid of it. That is not
a question because they're not gonna care one team. They're
gonna exactly call the reverse rop. Well, only one team's
doing it, not a big deal. Now it's gonna be well,
it's only one team doing to get rid of it.
That's exactly what's gonna happen, all right, all the way.
Timothy Parker from Spectrum Sports Net and Spectrum News News
won He's gonna join us here in just a bit
right now, Steven Seger is gonna get a set on
(22:35):
what's trendy.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Hell well, let's start with the NFL news.
Speaker 11 (22:38):
His commander's quarterback, Jade and Daniels is out with a
knee injury, so Marcus Mariota will start for Washington. The
forty nine Ers due to start quarterback Mac Jones again
with Brock Perdy injured. Bengals QB Joe Burrow had his
toe surgery. Wide receiver of Mecco Buko of Tampa Bay
returned to practice. He's questionable, but running back for Seattle
Zach Sharp and a doubtful for the weekend with a
(22:59):
foot injury. The Falcons cutkicker Young Wayku and gave the
new kicker, Parker Romo, a two year deal. There's college
football on Fox TV and a half an hour three
and zero. Rutgers hosts Iowa, which is two and one.
As for the Major League Baseball, the season ends the
regular season a week from Sunday. The Tigers lead in
the AL Central is down to three and a half
(23:20):
games over the Guardians. They put veteran Charlie Morton on
the mound in Detroit tonight. Morton with an era over
five and a half, and the Tigers are down six
nothing to Atlanta in the bottom of the third. Morton
lasted an inning and a third. Cubs and pitchers showed
to Imanaga lead at Cincinnati two to one in the
bottom of the third. The Cubs six games back of
(23:40):
the first place Brewers in the NL Central Cubs in
Milwaukee each have already qualified for the postseason. The Reds
and Diamondbacks two games out of the last NL wild
card behind the Mets San Francisco three games back. By
the way, the Yankees in action and down one nothing
bottom of the second at Baltimore, and also in action.
(24:01):
It's Mets up one nothing on Washington in the top
of the second, ending the late game ten PM Eastern time.
Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers hosting Robbie Ray and San Francisco.
The Dodgers first in the NLST three games over the
Padres San Diego's at the White Sox this weekend. White
Sox have lost six strade back to.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
You, Thank you, Steve Wait. Did the Tigers get let
another run happen?
Speaker 3 (24:24):
It just what's going on? Mary?
Speaker 5 (24:27):
Hear me with some sad music. It's the couple Rob
Parker Kelvin, Washington. It's six nothing already. No, wow, man,
they're in trouble.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
It's free fall.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
Sorry, it's the hot couple Robie Kelvin on a funky
Flashback Friday. If you got ak D stiff back, Joyce
not cooperating with you, must be a Detroit Tiger. Some
days your body is just like nope, it ain't happening.
And on those days, thankfully there's a lead. With just
one pill, Elie provides up to twelve hours of pain
relief so you can keep it moving.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Use as directed.
Speaker 5 (24:58):
Join now our guy, Timothy Parker, Spectrum Networks. You see
him on the sports side, see them on the new side.
Does all that good stuff for? Is Timothy Parker TV
on X give him a follow TP? What's up man?
Speaker 3 (25:09):
What's happening? What's up? Odd couple? What's up? Brother? TP?
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Well, by the way, your thoughts on the toush push
you're an Eagles fan, so just yeah, your thoughts on
that put a button on that conversation for us.
Speaker 12 (25:20):
I need America to stop crying because like it's we've
been doing quarterbacks neak since nineteen fifty five or before then.
The only thing the difference is that we got a
quarterback Decks squat eight hundred pounds. Y'all can't stop it.
Stop crying about it, get better defensive linemen, maybe draft
another refrigerated Perry to come stop it.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Because it's a solution to it. You just can't figure
it out.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
I totally. They called it the kiss, my toush push.
That's what they calling it right now, Philly. All right,
we got a big one coming up. Speaking of the Eagles,
we got Rams. Eagles should be a good one. Two
teams that are two and zero, two teams that had
a really good playoff game last year, and both teams
feeling like Super Bowl aspirations. Just start for me right now.
I want to start. Let's stay with the Eagles. We'll
get to the Rams at a minute. Or they got
(26:04):
over a one hundred and something yard just barely last game.
The Eagles offense has been weird. They can score, they
need to, they can put up, but then they don't.
What do you make of this this offense? You got
Chris Jones talking smack to Jalen Hurts, like what y'all doing?
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Y'all ain't even doing nothing.
Speaker 12 (26:17):
I think the issue is right now that everybody is
trying to stop sa kuon Barkley.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
And then the next thing is you focus on how'd
that work in the Super Bowl? Stop in Saqua. It
didn't work. Davante had a huge game. But the issue
is now, Okay, you're gonna take you take away, you
over the top stuff too.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
So now we're just gonna dink and dunk.
Speaker 12 (26:36):
And what we're seeing is that Jalen Hurts being a
good effective quarterback, is not trying to force the issue
like we see eighty percent of the National Football League
quarterbacks do. Jalen Hurts is taking his time fighting the reds.
You know what, A lot of the Reeds are just
running the ball himself. So he's rushing the ball effectively.
Is that the passing game is quiet because they're shutting
(26:57):
it down.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
I look at that team right now, and I say,
they're doing whatever it takes. And if that's running, if
that's push pushing, if it's passing.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (27:06):
And and again you look at the last four or
five years with Jalen and it's been a bunch of success. Uh.
And then I go to the other side of the ball.
The Rams kind of built this thing up. Obviously, Matthew
Stafford was the offseason you think you were here. We
even talked about it. What's going on with him, his
back and all of that. Uh, so far, so good
for him and the team.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
The Rams.
Speaker 12 (27:24):
They've managed to find the best thing you want in
foot for a football team, complimentary football. Remember that first
game of the season, the offense looked like garbage, but
the defense came up and made plays at the end.
But they got the punch out the end of the game.
And then in Tennessee you saw what the Rams really are,
a defense that can make plays.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
And then when the Rams offense Tennessee, I mean, really,
it's not it's.
Speaker 12 (27:54):
Not about the parade, but this it's about showing what
the Rams offense can be when the defense is made plays.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Last year they struggled offensively. There was a bad strike.
Tell you what Rob G and I have gone over.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
It was about five or six where they only scored
average thirteen points a game and very few touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
It was just struggle. It was weird.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
It was a struggle. And then they get to Philadelphia.
They have a chance, right and they go four and
now they had a chance to win that game, and
they go four, and now in that stretch down there,
what are the expectations of the Rams, because I know
a lot of people are high on them. I don't
see them, as you know, coming out of the NFC.
I just think the NFC has a lot of good teams,
(28:41):
and the Rams to me, would be on the second four,
not the top four.
Speaker 12 (28:45):
Are you what being four teams better than the Rams
in the NFC?
Speaker 1 (28:49):
Well, I mean you got the Egals, okay, right, you
got the Packers.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
Well, I didn't say what I'm not sure he said.
He said four, though I'm not saying the Lions. So
I'm trying to think of where else did I have
my team?
Speaker 5 (29:06):
It was supposed to be the Commanders with Commanders no
coming into the season, don't say, don't shake your head.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Yes, the Commanders were ahead of the Rams coming into
the season, and for some people they still have the Lions.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
I don't but some people, Now, if you're.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Talking to your to your coworker here from Spectrum, he's
gonna have the Lions in the top four, Am I right?
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Kelvin or not? The Bucks they're trying Tampa Bay is
pretty good.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
I mean Baker Mayfield, So it's not like there's nobody there.
I'm not a Lion. I'm not on the Lions. I
think they take a step back this year.
Speaker 12 (29:38):
Let's take a logical look at what happened in the
off season. Washington pretty much stayed the same.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
The Packers, Samuel.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Staff also has a has a backed issue that could
flare up at any time during the season.
Speaker 12 (29:52):
But let's say it doesn't happen. You got the Packers.
They got Michael Parsons. That makes them a little bit better.
The Rams got Devonte Adams replacing an old Cooper Cup
and they already took the Eagles to the brink last year.
What makes you think they can't do it this year?
And this time with the Eagles tough schedule, the Rams.
We have the NFC Championship game in their house, So
why can't the Rams go to the Super Bowl with
(30:12):
a better round.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
I know you live in Los Angeles and I get this.
Speaker 1 (30:16):
I'll I get it, okay, but I don't have them
in my top four, not right now.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
I think the Rams Seavic McVeigh and Matthew Stafford what
they've done. When they get to the postseason, they are
very very good. They're very dangerous. And that's why a
lot of people are high on them. And defensively, they're
kind of like the the Packers, and that they're really
yelling defensively, and they keep getting better and better on
the defensive side of the ball. And now we get
(30:42):
to the Chargers, the real team.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
No, I'm not on the train so far. But so
far they've played pretty well. They won, They've won two
big games, and they're off running. I mean, that's all
I mean. I've never been a Chargers guy. Uh Will
Hawball has had success in the NFL before.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
We know that.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
With the forty nine Ers, they couldn't They didn't win
a championship, but they were in a mixed you know.
Speaker 12 (31:09):
Okay, you're talking about the top four in the NFC
looking at it today, would you put the Chargers in
the top two.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
In the a f C. No, top four in the AFC. Okay,
that's fair, Okay, top two too much? I know who
I don't have in the top Yeah you knew that.
Come on, Tim, you already know that.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
I think if they lose to the Giants this week,
which would be impossible, almost nearly a possible, it's not impossible.
Where's that game is it in New York on Jersey
or is that I remember?
Speaker 3 (31:38):
I think I think it's that game is an arrowhead,
isn't it? The Giants us confirm that.
Speaker 5 (31:44):
I think that the Giants, they're competing and you don't
know what Russell Wilson is showing up like, yeah, the Giants.
Speaker 12 (31:53):
They're not getting blown out Sunday night. I think it's
going to be a competitive game where that yeah, yeah,
so it is in the medal lands. So I think
that's a game where the Chiefs really got to prove
that they are the team of we thought they were
a championship team. Even if they win, I don't think
people are going to be impressed after Sunday night.
Speaker 5 (32:11):
Well I think, I mean, if we're going we were
gonna talk about the charge, but I'll just say this
with them, sorry about their whole goal is to just
keep it close. And I don't mean the game itself.
I mean record wise, Let's just be two and two, right, Okay,
Let's just be three and two at the five, so
that when we get Rushie Rice Worth, these backs shoulders
feeling good, they feel like they can then take off.
(32:32):
So for them, and that's why when Rob and I
you know, we get into it about it. I say
that's why, similarly to Baltimore last year, starting off on two,
I don't have much worry because I don't think the
Broncos are gonna be as good as everybody thinks the Raiders.
So they might be third of division, No, they're gonna
be second, probably behind the Chargers, and I feel like
they're gonna get in the spot. And then once you
have a healthy Chiefs team with Patrick Mahomes, that's where
(32:54):
I would go worry against any but don't matter who,
because that's just what they've done.
Speaker 12 (32:58):
I think you just had the Chargers winning the AFC West,
that would be monumental a lot.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Some people had that a lot, yeah.
Speaker 12 (33:05):
Because like it's been what the Arrowhead Invitational for the
last like ten years.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Yeah, but people see cracks in the armor, like like seriously,
last tim the last couple last year they were ten
to oer or eleven and zero one score games. They've
already lost two one score games. So there's a there's
a shift there, like right there saying like they used
to win those games.
Speaker 5 (33:27):
The only thing so if you if that's absolutely true
and they can't necessarily win them all as they did
last season. But again, I just know they're banking on
because they kept being in This is the the raginning
champs with the Eagles, they were right there in it.
They're going up against the Bills. I'm not the Bills
game one. Uh, they were right there in it. And
just Charger Chargers are Chargers, They're right there in it.
(33:49):
If Justin Hurry doesn't have that long scraunch. So I
think the Chiefs are saying, we're fine, we're missing guys,
We're fine, but they're gonna have to win those close games.
All right, stick around if you if you don't mind,
because we got vershaw retirement coming up, his last game
on the mounds, starting at least at home for the Dodgers.
We'll have to see what happens in the postseason. And
I know you cover the Dodgers as well. I'm heading
there after this, yep, So stick around for that. We

Where's the snap back to pass hires A ten accepted,
picked up by Terrell Bernard coming the other way and
out of bounds at the forty yard line.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Terrell Bernard list a fourth corner comes up huge.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
He wrecked to a like a cook.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
He did, and two and the Bill and the Dolphins
were hanging around right there be twelve and a half.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
I'm saying what I tell you. I told them.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
I said they weren't gonna get blown out. Take the
twelve and a half division rival.
Speaker 5 (35:17):
I said it a lot, you did, You said it
up all right. Terrell Bernard's right there at the interception.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
I was two and one one and that brings us
two sixty and seventy. My boy coming back it was
rough four minute.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
Ten, yeah, sixteen and seventeen. So there you are all
right for Shekel City today.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
I don't know why in front of me? Yeah, yeah,
here we go.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
We got Yankees minus one and a half against Baltimore.
Are good? Yeah, you're good. That's early.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
I did pick Atlanta against Detroit. Oh, good one and
that was a good one that already up?
Speaker 3 (36:28):
Was it six to one in that game?
Speaker 5 (36:30):
Maybe sixteen now, I don't know. And I picked the
Mets minus one and a half to beat the Bush.
Right now, you're doing all right, Nationals?
Speaker 2 (36:36):
So then we go.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
We got three game Baltimore's winning the beating the Yankees.
So I got the Yankees minus one and a half
against the Orioles in Baltimore where I'll be tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (36:46):
Timothy, just get ready to start talking because Aaron Judge
is up and we will lose RD No.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
You not know, you gotta stop it.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
And he's got two men on and I got the
Mets over the Nationals and the Braves.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
Over the you might get remember today, what's that? I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
All right, Aaron Judges, Oh they got him out him
looking taking a seat, looking. I don't know what he's
looking for. Was right over the play right there. That
was Yeah, he backed up like it was about to hit.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (37:16):
But tim we got Timothy Parker here again Special Sports
and that uh sports in LA.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
You do all this stuff it with Spectrum News one.
You're going to Dodger Stadium.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
Expectation today, Just what's gonna be like for those who
obviously everybody's heard unless you be under Rock Clinton Kershaw
amazing career, going to call it a career at the
end of this season. So this will be his last
start in the regular season at Dodger Stadium. What do
you expecting the scene, what would it be like? You
know in LA, Tonight's gonna fill like a World Series game.
I was at the game where Kershaw got his three
(37:47):
thousand strikeout.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Yeah like that that.
Speaker 12 (37:49):
They said the atmosphere was incredible. It was incredible. It
was it felt bigger than the World Series game because
you know here in LA World Series game starts at
five o'clock. People kind of getting in the second inning
for that game, people were in their seats early, like
trying to get a glimpse of him in the bullpen
and all that. So tonight is gonna feel real special,
(38:09):
like hopefully he delivers. It's looking looking for the three
thousand francs in that game.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
You remember that it was the last batter he faced.
But people are like, I've seen people ripping on all.
He should have retired years ago, and he's been injured
a lot and all that. He's he's a Dodger favorite,
and I give him credit. Some guys he wanted to
be like Jeter and some of these guys who never
wore anybody else's uniform. Jeita could have played a couple
(38:35):
more years if he really wanted to, you know what
I mean? And Kershaw from this standpoint, people thought he's
gonna go to the Texas Rangers.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
He's from suburban Dallas. He didn't want to do that.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
He wanted to stay with the with the Dodgers only
wear that uniform. And I'm not mad at him, and
I'm not mad at the Dodgers. He's the best picture
of our generations. I could say that there were the
ups and downs and the post and you know me,
I'm I don't saw soak anybody he was. He's the
best picture of our generation. Doubt and winning that championship
(39:06):
in twenty twenty solidified that. And if he doesn't have that,
then yes, you can leave the door open.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
For people that be critical. So in Los Angeles he's goaded,
He's on. Absolutely, he's the Kobe of Los Angeles.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
Dodgers saw him young, saw him grow up, just didn't
always ups the downs.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
The family. Yeah, that's what That's what endures somebody.
Speaker 5 (39:29):
It's to me, you especially you mentioned Kobe got him young,
and they got to see the growing pains, the success,
the failures, and you feel like you have a party,
like he's a family member.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
That's how just as you know, living here, people feel
like that about him.
Speaker 12 (39:40):
But the question I had for you guys is how
does the national non Dodger loving baseball fan view him.
Do they remember the failures because they're not watching a
no hitter game in the middle of July, They're watching
in October.
Speaker 3 (39:54):
So do they remember the the failures more than they
do the great? No, they don't. They remember the great?
Remember the great? Now he was?
Speaker 1 (40:01):
Yeah, I'm dead serious, tim Like you know, I worked
for MLB Network when they announced. You know, they have
all this stuff about him that they pulled out to
show people. Yeah, because he's had an unbelievable career, and
I get it. The difference is his lifetime l ray
is so low, but it's doubled in the playoffs. It's
(40:24):
like three, yeah, but at four to four, you know
what I mean. So, yeah, the postseason has been bad,
but this regular season you cannot discount.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
The pool pool MVP.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
I mean, when you're getting m VPS, picture has a picture,
not cy young, right, people get the m VPS a picture.
