Speaker 1 (00:05):
This is straight Fire with Jason McIntyre.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
What is up, Dre, fam It's me Jason McIntyre. Straight
Fire for Monday, September twenty ninth. Holy smokes, that was
a weekend of football. Oh my gosh. I will say
I know some people are into the Ryder Cup. I
did not watch one swing. I don't know who won.

(00:31):
I just saw a bunch of Ryder Cup tweets and
Instagram pops. I know. Major League Baseball the regular season ended.
There was some chaos, but guys up too locked in
on football, between gambling, Fantasy Survivor. It's just too much.
I was just like overwhelmed with NFL. And by the way,

(00:51):
college football Saturday was Bonker Saturday Night, the Oregon Penn
State ending, the Alabama game. I finally want a big,
big bet. Alabama, Oh my god, came through. If you
listen to Brad Powers on the pod Friday, you want
a lot of money. His first half Illinois, I mean
he was just he was lights out. But we have
to start the podcast. Oh my gosh, Dallas forty, green

(01:14):
Bay forty. First NFL tie. I believe in three seasons
and Green Bay probably should have won this. I had
the Packers in the contest yuck. So at the end
I was rooting for Dallas because a lot of people
had them in Survivor, the Packers that is, and I
found out because I am, you know, as a Survivor guy,
I guess your team needs to win, so a tie

(01:36):
eliminate you. So anybody who had the Packers and Survivor
thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
It's not a rough beat. It's a rough finish. I
mean the game was crazy. You had over let me
see here, over nine hundred yards of total offense. You
had thirty two first downs for green Bay, almost as
many first downs as points right in the red zone.
Green Bay five or six, Dallas four or five. These
teams were highly affit. The defense was optional. And I'm

(02:02):
starting I gotta be honest. If you're looking for big
macro takeaways, obviously, Pickens looks like a stud. He looks
like he could be a number one eight for one
hundred and thirty four yards two touchdowns. He also beat
me in two fantasy leagues. Not good. It was not
good in the McIntire household late Sunday night. That's one thing.

(02:22):
Number two Dak Prescott looks like MVP Dak Prescott. Okay,
so we know the Packers are really good. They bottled
up golf in the opener. They made Jaden Daniels look ordinary.
Joe Flacco was terrible last week. Although you know Joe
Flacko was ptt bad. They're probably gonna have to bench him.
Dak thirty one of forty for three hundred and nineteen
yards three touchdowns. He was incredible. Dak Prescott. Right now,

(02:44):
if you're just doing top ten quarterbacks in the league
so far at the quarter mark, okay, and again, this
is just this season. I don't care what you did
last year, two years ago, how many NFC championships or
Super Bowls you've been doing. None of that tough matters.
Just this season. Dak Prescott is undeniably a top ten quarterback.

(03:06):
I have right now no order. Dak is playing like
a top ten quarterback. Matthew Stafford, is Josh Allen, is
Sam Darnold, You can scoff his numbers have been unbelievable.
He's been great, one of the I mean, honestly, he's
one of the highest greated quarterbacks. Now it's just a
quarter of the season. Let's not overreact. Justin Herbert not
his finest day. He's got tackles issues. Now that's not good.

(03:27):
He's in there. Baker Mayfield would be six, Jordan Love seven,
Lamar eight. Lamar did not have a good day. But
before this guy, I mean, Lamar has been unbelievable. Jalen
Hurts nine again no order here, and Daniel Jones ten.
Daniel Jones has to be in there. I know he
had two picks on Sunday and the loss of the
Rams will maybe get to that. Patrick Mahomes had not

(03:48):
been great, but he was on Sunday against a depleted
Raven Steed. He would probably be eleven. But like right now,
like we're seeing some crazy stuff happening in the NFL,
just absolutely bonker like Dallas is a threat. I don't
know you thought without Ceedee Lamber cooked Offn's the line
is in rough shape. Mount Michael Parson's gonna eat. Michael

(04:09):
Parsons did not have a sack. Michael Parsons was borderline
on a milk carton. I haven't seen the Jerry Jones
comments yet, but I'm sure he's gonna go on a
podcast or but you know, put himself in front of
a TV camera, just so we could take some jabs
at the Packers and Michael Parsons. Overall, that's a rough
tie for green Bay. So they're up thirteen to nothing.

(04:29):
They go to kick the extra point to go fourteen nothing.
It's a beat down at this point and it's blocked
and run back and that gave Dallas life. That made
it thirteen to two, and then from there on Dallas
took over and it was a game still. The Packers
in the red zone with like twenty eight seconds left
and barely got the field goal off. I mean they

(04:50):
butchered it and you know, obviously burning the time out.
There was a great play by Trayvon Diggs on Dobbs
that really screwed them up, and then they threw like
a swing pass. It was just not great from Green Bay,
so they settled for the tie. Overall, you know, that
was fun, That was exciting. It was one of those
games like give me that any day of the week

(05:11):
over whatever the hell you call Titans Texans, basically any
game involving the Titans. And if we actually ended up
getting sound though, we would get a lot of sound
from the Titans. Texans postgame because cam Ward like dropped
a couple of curse words. Brian Callahan got into it
with one of the beat writers for the Titans, like,
those guys are unfolding, but they're unwatchable. Dak has been

(05:33):
in primetime against the Eagles. That was a great game.
It was outstanding, and this game was tremendous. I mean,
Dak is Listen, they're not gonna get NFL MVP's weird.
They only give it to like, but the best quarterback
on the one of the team with one of the
best three records. I know they were rotten against the
Bears last week, but this shows how much of a

(05:54):
week to week league it is, guys. This is basically
where we are in the NFL. Atlanta Falcons last week
or two weeks ago, Atlanta Falcons go to the Vikings
Sunday Night football, beat that ass twenty two six. They
come back and lose to Carolina thirty to nothing, and
Michael Pennix gets bench and you're like, oh my gosh,
I was on the Falcons. What did they do Sunday?

(06:16):
They beat Washington. Now there was no uh, Jayden Daniels,
it was Mariota. I had Falcons and that was, you know,
good hit Falcons put up thirty four points. It's like,
will the real Atlanta Falcons please still stand up? Like
what's happening here? And again you look at teams like
the Packers, teams like the Cowboys. Nobody is consistent, guys, nobody,
I mean the Green Bay Packers. They're gonna be getting

(06:39):
back Watson at some point, Jayden Reid at some point.
Dobbs looks awesome, Golden is a keeper. You gotta trade
somebody to get a cornerback, right, And I know the
cornerback room was supposedly good, but they couldn't guard anyone.
I mean, why are you giving guys a ten yard cushion?
I was discussed now, I was on Packers mount of
six and a half in the contest, did not obviously

(07:00):
didn't hit, and I just I did not understand the
defensive strategy from Green Bay. Very puzzling. That to me
felt like a loss for the Packers, and it kind
of felt like a win for the Cowboys. Now again,
I don't know what that's even worth. The Cowboys next
up against my Jets than Carolina. Those should be two wins.
But you have to go on the road, and we

(07:21):
saw them on the road in Chicago and they lost.
So again week to week, league Dak looked amazing. Bem
be mortal next week and Sauce Garter locks up Pickens.
So just that's my big takeaway from what I felt
was a pretty tremendous tie, although ties are not usually tremendous.
There really isn't a slam dunk number two game to

(07:43):
go to. I know some people are gonna want to
be like you gotta talk about brock perty in his
four turnover in the turnovers, he had a brutal fumble
in the pocket tipped interception. They lost to the Jags.
Another loss for me on that one. I didn't think
that game was particularly interesting. Jacksonville is feisty. Afterward, you
had Liam Cohen saying keep my name out of your

(08:03):
mouth to Robert Sala. Robert Sala obviously is a large,
hulking individual, and Sala starts like laughing and walking toward him,
and of course the people separate it. But it was like,
this is a different Jags team. I gotta be honest.
I like the Jags before this season, and they're starting
to show me that, like, hey, there's something here. Now
I didn't think their defense. This is a crazy stat.

(08:26):
The Jags defense has forced three turnovers in every game
this season. It's like, really the Jags now Again, some
of that is facing CJ. Stroud last week. But just
for the record, if you want to beat up my
guy brock Perty for a bad game against the Jags,
then you have to do the same for CJ. Stroud
because CJ. Stroud do two picks. Well, he had a

(08:47):
pick and then the Nico Collins fumbled in the fourth
late last week and the Jags beat the Texans. So again,
I don't think rock Perty's playing great now. He just
came back from injury. Still no Kittle, still no I
you Ricky Piersoll leaves with an injury like they just
cannot stay healthy. I feel bad for my Niners now

(09:07):
Niners three and one. Jags, by the way, they're gonna
be a spicy team, guys. They have the Chiefs next,
and it is u is it Monday night football? Sunday night? No, no, yes,
Monday night football against and they host Kansas City next. Okay,
so allow me to dovetail in two the Kansas City Chiefs,

(09:29):
because yes, I'm that JIBBRONI go ahead, guys, this is me,
like you know, putting bring it on. Let me, let's
let's hear it. I'm the GIBRONI who said the Chiefs
we're not going to the playoffs. I look good for
three weeks and they smash the Ravens thirty seven to twenty,
thirty seven to twenty impressive win and Noll everybody wants

(09:50):
to talk about is well. Patrick Mahomes is six and
one against Lamar. Let's slow down. Okay, yes, Mahomes was great.
I have him on my fantasy team. I'm well aware
how good he was. I'm very happy Mahomes went off.
I thought that this game was more about the Ravens
than it was against about the Chiefs, and I'll tell
you why. So for startis Lamar suffered a hamstring injury

(10:13):
left in the third quarter. Okay, he did not have
a great game, But what's really troubling is the Ravens
defense gave up over thirty points to the Bills, the Lions,
and the Chiefs. And compounding matters, no team suffered more
injuries Sunday than the Ravens. File this away before you

(10:33):
even look at betting them. Again. Next besides lamar Ronnie Stanley,
the left tackle went down in the first quarter. That
was bad news. Okay, Spagnolo just dialed up blitz after
blitz after blitz and the Baltimore could not handle it.
Stanley is there by far their best offensive linement, but
the defense, which is getting cooked, lost Marlon Humphrey and

(10:56):
by the way, he has been burnt toast this season.
I mean goodness us go look up any of the
big plays given up to the Lions, the Chiefs, maybe
the Bills. I don't remember if it was as bad
he was getting roasted. He's just not that great anymore. Sorry.
He was an elite slot corner like what four or
five years ago, and either injuries have taken their toll

(11:17):
or age or wear and tear. He's not great anymore.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
But he got hurt.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Rokwan Smith their best linebacker. He got hurt and left
the game. Nate Wiggins, the good young corner they got,
he got hurt and left. So the Ravens in the
middle of this game lost three starters. Now I did bets.
I hit the Rams in game, I hit the Chiefs
in game. I missed on the Niners in game. Yes,
I do in game betting. I don't post all of them,
but once I see these injuries mount, I'm like, there's

(11:42):
no way the Ravens are getting any stops. The Chiefs
scored on eight of their first nine possessions, and Baltimore's
offense once they lost Stanley, couldn't do anything. After that
opening driveway they scored a touchdown on their next six drives.
They had like one hundred and sixty seven yards, so
they're averaging like twenty or thirty yards of drive. They
couldn't do anything. So injuries to the quarterback and the

(12:05):
left tackle, the defense is absolutely decimated. I mean, yeah,
Kansas City's gonna roll him now. Obviously everybody wants to
make a ton of a huge deal out of Xavier Worthy,
the immortal second year receiver. Oh the speed stir or
Xavier Ward. Just wait till he comes back. Jay, he

(12:26):
had a good game. Sure, let me see here, five
catches for eighty three yards. Jerry Rice, He's not okay.
He's a good piece. It's a nice piece to the puzzle.
He's solid. Xavier Worthy ain't winning you a super Bowl
just because he's back, Like he is a good player.
Let's not overdo it. Five catches eighty three yards on

(12:48):
eight targets, and he had two carries for thirty eight yards.
One of them was thirty five, so it in total
the speedster Xavier Worthy had. Uh, let's see if I
could do math here one to what one hundred and
twenty one total yards of offense. That's good, that's great.
They need that. Pacheco couldn't really run the ball. Kareem

(13:09):
Hunt thirteen carries thirty four yards, so basically they still
can't run the football, and that was against their beat
up Ravens defense. But what they could do was throw it.
And let's see here one, two, three, four, five, six,
seventy nine different players caught passes. Worthy caught five, Kelsey
caught five, Hollywood Brown got in the act. Juju Brashad Smith,

(13:30):
whoever that is. See is he a rookie? Yeah, he's
a seventh round He's the new he's the new Isaiah Pacheco,
the seventh rounder. He looked, he looked solid. Yes, they
spread the ball around again. I will maintain this was
more about the Baltimore Ravens than it was the Chiefs.
The Chiefs, I'm happy there. Two and two well, I'm

(13:50):
not happy there two and two, but I'm glad. I'm
sure you guys are happy there two and two. Very
good performance from them, no denying it, and that Jacksonville
game will be interesting. I let me let me check
the lines here real quick. I would guess because of
this win that they're probably gonna be favored on the road.
But if I see Kansas City three, I'm taking I'm

(14:12):
taking Jacksonville. Let me let's open it up here. Lines
are up ooh, Kansas City minus three, Jacksonville Jacksonville plus three.
So I'm gonna go ahead and hammer that. Now, let's
just go do that, and the bet is in the account.
I took Jacksonville plus three minus one eleven, just on Prince.
I've got to take the home team, and I remember

(14:36):
Jacksonville fighting Kansas. This won't be the first time that
Trevor Lawrence has seen Spagnolo's defense. They had the playoff
game and I think another one in the regular season.
And again this is this is not your dad's Jacksonville Jaguars.
Liam Cohen has some swagger, he spreads the ball around.

(14:57):
I think Jacksonville is gonna be plucky in this one.
Their defense can they continue turning the ball over? I
doubt it, or getting generating turnovers? I doubt it given
last year they were historically bad in turnovers and now
they're generating them left and right. But they dominated the
Niners at the line of scrimmage. Their front was winning
and I'm very that's a great game. Next Monday night,

(15:17):
faux show. I'll be on Jacksonville three. Now if it
goes to two and a half, I don't like it
as much as I went the full field goal.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Michael Pennix look good. We touched on that Buffalo Bills
did not cover the big fourteen against the Saints. That
was like a field goal. I'm sorry, Saints were down
two with nine minutes left. That was a little dicey there,
a little bit of a sweat. Interesting stat I'm just
gonna put this out there. The Saints, who are terrible

(15:58):
and we're down I think thirty eight to three against
the Seahawks last week. Near the half, the Saints had
one hundred and eighty nine yards rushing against the Bills.
The New Orleans Saints like, let that sink in. And
then the Bills allowed one hundred and sixty five yards
rushing after contact, meaning they are a terrible tackling team.

(16:21):
So I have the Bills going to the super Bowl.
That defense is just not good. Let me see who
they're running back is. So Kamara had seventy. The guy
who I was impressed with was Ken dre Miller. He's
a tough guy. It's a tough back. Eleven carries sixty
five yards. He was eating The Saints stink though, So
I won't waste any more of your time. Oh, here
we go. This is the game we're talking about. New

(16:43):
York Giants beat the Chargers. This one hurt because I
had Chargers and two teasers. All they had to do
was win. Okay, I bet them in game. I foolishly
had them minus six and a half from early in
the week. Loved that. By the way it closed, it's
seven and a half, just so just to be aware.
Oh he was just seven and a half. Okay, And

(17:03):
everybody's going crazy. I almost feel like the media is
going overboard. Jackson Dart beats Justin or Herbert to stop.
That's so goofy, That's not what happened. Jackson Dart in
his first start was decidedly mediocre, and he won a

(17:23):
football game. Like again, if we're being totally honest, Jackson Dart,
I'm gonna tell you his numbers. Thirteen of twenty one
hundred eleven yards in a touchdown. He was sacked five times.
Now the next gen stats, when those come out, go
to type plug in net next Gen stats, and then
look at his passing chart. I'm looking at his longest

(17:47):
pass and it was eighteen yards Darius Layton. I don't
know if that was like a six yard pass and
he went eighteen. He did not throw the ball down
the field with any success. Okay, it was a super
conservative game plan. On the scripted drive they went in
for the touchdown. He had a nice touchdown run. It
looked great. They had zero drives after that that went
fifty yards zero. Okay, they were not good in there

(18:13):
any way you slice it. They were not good. Cam
Scattabuo twenty five carries for seventy nine yards. Could we
get that guy an ice bath? That's three point something
yards per carry? Like, not great the New York Giants
did not have one play of over twenty yards in
the game. Now, they did get the win. I know
that's all that matters, but I anybody trying to sell

(18:35):
you ey Giants, man, they got something in Jackson Dart.
Just just just know that they don't understand football and gambling.
They just don't. Jackson Dart was fine. He has scrambling
rattled the Chargers, which you know the Chargers have struggled
against running quarterbacks. I saw zero that would lead me
to believe he's a major threat. And as a matter

(18:57):
of fact, they are at the New Orleans Saints on Sunday,
and folks, I just be careful laying it with the Giants, Okay,
I'm just telling you be careful. This game again was about,
in my opinion, the loser, the Chargers. So justin Herbert
throws two picks. I think one was his fault, the

(19:19):
other was not. I'd have to double check, but they
weren't just interceptions. They were in his own end and
they were brought back inside the Charger's own ten yard line.
So essentially, the two Herbert interceptions gave the Giants ten points,
so they had seven on the opening drive, which was great.

(19:40):
The scripted drive they got ten courtesy of Justin Herbert
picks and then they held on for victory. Okay, the
Chargers outgained them by one hundred and sorry, but not
by one hundred. It was by ninety eighty eight yards
yards per play. How about this, Chargers six point zero,
Giants three point. The Chargers lost this game more than

(20:03):
the Giants won it. The Chargers fourteen penalties for one hundred
and seven yards. And oh, by the way, they lost
Joe Alt early and he and as a result, Herbert
was pressured on forty seven percent of his dropbacks. Okay,
he had forty one pass attempts, basically half the time
he was under pressure. So when they lost Rayshawn Slater
in August, so then Joe Alt, the guy they drafted

(20:26):
last year, had to move from right tackle to left
and they're like, ooh, that's tough. Joe Alt had played
great at left tackle. They had a backup at right tackle.
So now against the Giants who have Abdua Carter and
Thibodeau and Brian Burns, and I mean Carter was a
wrecking ball by the way, he was outstanding. You have
a backup left tackle, a backup right tackle, and Beckton

(20:50):
was out, so he had a backup guard. So three
offensive linemen were gone. They had no chance. And I
know it's people are gonna be like, Jay, you can't
lose a left tackle and it hurts that bad. Yes, man,
that's who's protecting your quarterback against the best edge rusher.
And when he goes down and then his backup goes down,
you're kind of sort of aft. So again, I know
people are excited about Jackson Dart. Just I'll just say,

(21:12):
pump the breaks you can. You get a scoff and
be like And when I do that on social media,
all these morons are like, yeah, well, how are the
Jets doing? Like I care? What would you guys act
like I care that the Jets stink. I'm well aware
that they have the longest playoffless streak in the league.
I'm well aware Justin Fields is not their franchise quarterback. Okay,

(21:34):
I get all that they stink. When I point out
other teams stink or pump the brakes or they've got problems,
if your response is yeah, well what about your team,
then you don't have an argument. Don't you just don't
even say anything if you want to admit your team
is flawed and then ask me, hey, let's talk about

(21:56):
the Jets. I mean, I don't personally think there's much
to talk about. We'll get the best bet soon, but
there's nothing really that interesting about them. Now I'm gonna
watch because I like the Jets, but they're not good.
What other games do we need to talk about? Pitt
Patriots was my big winner. They were down six nothing.
I was like, come on, guys. They scored the next
forty two points. Pretty impressive stuff. Oh oh, we got

(22:18):
to do rams Colts. So this game was phenomenal. And
we had Shelle Capatia on this week, and I had
one of my buddies texted me how he was like,
that guy's good. There's some good stuff in there, and
I'm just being honest. He was spot on about the Colts.
They were a playoff team. I watch that closely, like

(22:39):
I know. Daniel Jones made two bad throws. The kid
what's his name, Curl? Wait, hold on, I'll get it
in a second. Cam Curl had two picks. He had
a great game safety. So Daniel Jones made two bad
decisions on deep balls and curl. The safety just came
over and intercepted them. They were lobbed up a little
too much, and the safety made great plays. The Colts

(23:04):
kind of sort of beat themselves. They had eleven penalties,
and of course, I'm sure you guys have seen by now.
Donai Mitchell, the kid from Texas who's a very promising
talent man an awesome catch, kind of sort of broke
two tackles and then he's like celebrating on his way
to the end zone, goes to stick the ball out
at the one yard line before he crosses the gold line,

(23:25):
it slips out of his hands, out of the end zone.
And as if that wasn't bad enough, guys, this this hurt.
With like two minutes left, Jonathan Taylor breaks off a
fifty three yard touchdown run. It's called back because of
holding on Mitchell. Listen, man, that's a tough break for

(23:46):
a young guy. That's tough. And you know Verse had
a stripsack after that, and then the the Rams get
their eighty eight yard touchdown to two out. Well that's
a wrap, but I'm just go I'm gonna be real.
I had to Rams in this. I was sweating it.
I added to them when they were fell behind. It
was a really good win. Colts are for real guys.

(24:08):
They're just not bad at all. I didn't see a
ton of open guys except Puka Nakua, who was just
freaking amazing. He is really emerging. You know, when you
do your top five receiver list. I don't see how
he's not in there. Fifteen targets, thirteen catches for a buck,
seventy in a touchdown. Almost every time he needed a
big time catch, he got it. Now Colts fans are upset.

(24:30):
I'm trying to find the cornerback. I think it might
have been Xavin Howard, the former Miami Dolphin, who's a
little bit up there at age. He was really getting
cooked by Puka. But listen, what are you gonna do?
Like Puka's roasting everybody. He's one of the best receivers
in the league. He had a monster game two too,

(24:52):
out well showed that was a great game. The Rams,
to me, by the way, Jared versus Company are that
team's a very good team. I don't know. I would
say right now I would give the Rams the slight
edge over the Packers, just because the Packers have regressed
since those opening two games. I think the NFC right now,

(25:15):
right now I'm not saying, is that it's gonna end up.
And I say right now because the Eagles schedule is
tough and their injuries are starting to mount. But I
would go Eagles rams Packers as the top three in
the NFC. I think Niners injuries are brutal. Let me
quickly dovetail to that Eagles game, and that was a
good win. I was loaded up had him in the contest.

(25:37):
So they go up twenty four to six at the half.
They're beating that ass because they needed revenge on Bowls.
Everybody been saying, oh they got they got Tail. It
hurts his number. Okay, this is the craziest stat that
I've come across yesterday, and I had to like triple

(25:58):
check this. I'm like that that's not possible. But in
the second half, Jalen Hurts had zero passing yards. Now
that is the stat that I saw. I'm like, how
can that be true? And then you look and you're like,
oh shoot, and then you get this AJ Brown nonsense again.
AJ Brown nine targets, two catches, seven yards. So he

(26:21):
goes on Instagram post this cryptic thing about if I'm
not needed. I mean again, here's the target. Chair got
Art four, Barkley four, DeVonta Smith two, other tight end
to Metchi two, AJ Brown nine. Hurtz was trying to
force feed in the ball. He wasn't really open. The

(26:44):
bucks were all over everything. When you catch two of
nine targets, that's not great. So Brown is not happy.
You got to keep him happy. I thought last week,
would you know he'd be happy. But you know some
of these guys, hey man, they need more than just
one week. They need it all the time. They need
love all the time. So it hurts. Zero passing yards
in the second half unbelievable. They should have ran away

(27:05):
and hid. But Tampa got kind of two fluky long
touchdowns a seventy two yard at a Bucky irving where
basically he caught it, beat one guy and he was gone.
There was no one else. And then Abuka two Eagles
tried to go for the pick. I think or make
the tackle instantly, and Abuka makes the catch and he's
gone touchdown seventy seven yards. So you get to seventy

(27:27):
plus yard TVs and you're gonna be good. They came back.
They fought Baker threw a tough interception. But what was
disappointing for the Eagles, who are now four to zero,
they just seemed to stop playing. Up twenty four to six.
They had five three and ounce in the second half,
and of those five drives, I totaled sixteen yards of offense. Like, guys,

(27:50):
that is I mean, that's really freaking bad. Worst yet
Lane Johnson hurt again. Now I think this is twice
already that Lane Johnson, their great tackle, has been hurt.
That's something to keep an eye on. They lost another
offensive lineman, which is I believe why in the second

(28:11):
half the passing just wasn't there. And Saquon Barkley, you
guys should say all you want, oh, nineteen carries forty
three yards. You're crunching numbers at home. That's under three
yards of carry. He's just not as glossive I saw.
They start to work aj Dillon into the game. War
smart move. By the way, Bucky, I know that this

(28:33):
is gonna sound moronic given the year Saquon Barkley had,
But Bucky Irving has so much more juice this year
than saque It's not even close. Bucky Irving is electric Okay,
Now he's a younger guy, he's hungrier, He's not coming
off of four hundred touch season or whatever the number was.
Saquon He's still got pop, he's just not as he

(28:55):
just doesn't look like he did last year, you know,
And I think long term the trend lines are not
great for the Eagles, But how can you deny their
last twenty one games. They're twenty and one, and they
get to host bo Nicks next week, and then it's
the New York Giants, and then it's Minnesota and the Giants,
So you know, maybe they slip up against Minnesota, but

(29:16):
they should be eight and oh heading into that Green
Bay game in early November, where it's gonna basically be like,
all right, these are two of the best, let's see.
And yeah, I thought that was a good performance from
the Eagles, But I just I don't love it when
you get these big leads and then just do nothing
with it, You just stop playing. A couple other notes
I have here, So six teams with a winning record

(29:41):
in the AFC could be down to five tonight if
the Bengals lose. Should be actually it will be Nobody
in the NFC South has a positive point differential. Okay,
let that sink. In NFC's South, the entire division, nobody
has a positive differential. Why is that odd? Well, the

(30:01):
Bucks are three and one, there's a flat zero for
point differential. Falcons are two and two. They're minus ten.
Panthers they stink, and the Saints they stink. Okay, but
this is the weird part. Go to the NFC West.
Everyone has a positive point differential. The Niners, the Seahawks,
the Rams and Cardinals. Four good teams in that division.

(30:25):
Although Arizona well we'll see. I don't really want to
talk about the Bears blocking the Raiders kick at the end,
I had the Raiders in the contest. Just I don't know, guys,
two and three again, three straight, two and three weeks.
I'm nine and eleven, the worst start I've had ever
in the contest. I don't know. I'm at a loss.

(30:46):
I just don't get it. I cannot get hot in
the pick'em contest. I'm in some guys threw Fox told
me about it. First week. I was like third. Last
three weeks, just I can't do good. And again, a
lot of you know who don't spend a lot of
time on this are crushing because you know, when you
put in the effort and look at all the numbers

(31:07):
and look at the coordinators and the schemes and all
that stuff. Yeah, you can break it all down and
then guess what, the game comes and all this wacky
shit happens, and it's just like, wait, how is this
result happening? What's going down? And again, Raiders five turnovers,
all of them were in their own end, all all
of them on their side of the field. Five and

(31:28):
they still should have won the game, except you know,
they settle for a fifty four yard field goal and
it's blocked. Special teams has been crazy by the way
of the teams. I bet the forty nine or special
teams has to be one of the worst in the league.
They give up an eighty seven yard punt return touchdown,
give up like a fifty something kick return, they're on
their second kicker. It's it is really bizarre how crazy

(31:53):
special teams are in this league right now. It's like, oh,
Brandon Aubrey, Aubrey, just get him within sixty five and
it's probably good. And then you look at the Titans
and they missed two kicks in the first half and
you're like, oh, they're cooked. Last week Falcons two miss
kicks in the first half. It's over.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
All right.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Monday night football, we get a doubleheader.

Speaker 1 (32:12):

couch watching the game. He is making money while you

Speaker 2 (32:36):
All right, let's go to the best bets. It's a
Monday night football double header. Not gonna lie. I kind
of like the double header on Mondays, more of an
excuse to do less. Hey honey, sorry, I can't drive
to volleyball today. You know I got the Jets in action,
followed by the Bengals and Broncos. I mean the two
TVs in full effect. Anyways, in regards to bets, it

(33:00):
is weird. Every week there seems to be two to
three blowouts, right, and then everything else seems to be
close right within a touchdown goes down to the final
five minutes, and in that case, I'd much rather have
the underdog in a lot of the scenarios. That being said,
tonight I'm gonna go total on Jets Dolphins. I just

(33:22):
think these are two bad defenses. Yes, the Jets defense,
the hype is there that it's got great players, but
the numbers are not. They are playing at like a
level of like a bottom eight defense in the league.
The tackling's poor. I think the Dolphins are able to
have their way with the Jets offensively. We've seen them
open up thirty forty points with Tua on the Jets
in recent years, So I think both teams score. And frankly,

(33:45):
I know there's gonna sound bad, Jason, what kind of
fan are you? It doesn't really matter to me if
the Jets winner lose. I want them to be competitive
and I want my bets to hit. They're not going
to the playoffs, they're not winning the Super Bowl. Let's
see improvement, let's see some players we can build around,
and let's go get a quarterback next year in the draft. Right,
maybe it's Dante Moore. We'll do college football obviously later

(34:07):
in the week, as this past weekend was insane. But yeah,
I mean, I don't want to bet the Jets under
a field goal, and I don't totally trust the Dolphins,
so I do think the over I think there's points here.
I don't think this is kind of Cowboys Packers into
the deep thirties. But I can definitely see this being

(34:28):
like a twenty seven twenty three Jets win Dolphins in
one way or the other. As for the nightcap, usually
I like Denver at home, but I think, you know,
there's so many gamblers out there now, there's so much
more money out there, so much more information. I think
the days of hey man, it's September, you've got to

(34:49):
take Denver at home. Like that's built into the line.
Everybody knows it. Denver didn't cover at home in the
opener against Tennessee. We just saw Jake Browning and company
look awful last week in Minnesota. Well, Minnesota looked great,
and then what happened to them against Pittsburgh? They looked awful.
This is a week to week league. You guys got
to remember that. So this idea, Wow, Jake Browning was,

(35:11):
he was dog shit in Minnesota. What's he gonna do
against Denver? They might even be better? What I don't
know if they're better. I mean, Denver hasn't really slowed anybody.
That being said, the last two weeks he had to
face the immortal Daniel Jones and damn he's good this year.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (35:25):
I watch him against the Rims.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
He's good.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
And last week was justin Herbert And so you know,
this is a major step down in class for the
Broncos defense. Is it a get right spot? Yes? Do
I want to lay seven and a half? Not really?
I mean bo Nix has been one of the worst
quarterbacks according to Pro Football Focus in many metrics this season,

(35:48):
so yeah, maybe he screws up that. We know the
Cincinnati defense stinks. Carson Wentz had his way with him,
but I expect a much better effort from the Bengals tonight.
So if you're asked, I have nothing on that game,
maybe I'll try to a prop. But if you ask me,
I guess I would have to rock with Jake Brown
and getting seven and a half and I would not
like it. It's one of those plug and play, hold
your nose and hope for the best. But yeah, we'll

(36:11):
be back tomorrow. I mean we did. We's too many,
too much crazy NFL. We didn't have time to get
into college, but I definitely want to get into college
football because some interesting themes are shaking up and I
just love them. Anyways, back tomorrow, See you then,
