Speaker 3 (01:18):
So we are ready to go. Our number two of
the program coming up in about twenty eight minutes. Our
buddy Jay Crawford, my buddy from old. First take Cole
Pizza and who is now at KYC TV and Cleveland
and co host of the Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show, Jay Crawford,
(01:39):
the one and Only. He'll join us as well. We'll
do One's Got to Go that's coming up in about
forty five minutes or so, Kelvin, there we go. So
we got our packed full of stuff in our number
two of the odd couple.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Yes, sir, so Rob. Obviously you talked about earlier. We
did the baseball whip Around, a whole bunch of great
games going on right now, and we got these Boston
in New York taking on the Yankees. We got that
one going on. We'll keep you updating all the scores, obviously,
so will I Low. But also we have another series
which we were talking about earlier. We don't expect to
(02:15):
go much longer. It should be a Dodger win today
against the Reds. They should be able to get take care.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Of the Reds win. I'll be stunned.
Speaker 6 (02:21):
I really, I think the Reds would be stunn dude.
Speaker 5 (02:23):
When you look at the numbers, they don't have anyone
that's able to produce bats. I think they have like
two guys batting over to seventy, whereas the Dodgers have
like five or six. They have two guys that hit
in the twenties, and the Dodgers like seven guys that
hit twenty home runs or more twenty home runs for
you know, only a couple of for the Red So
(02:43):
it's just it's just their out match without a doubt.
But with that being said, I was watching going into
this this series having the thought process.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
I mean, you've talked about it.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Shoe Otani, who I believe is so great, I feel
like he's actually understated just because of his personality baseball.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
Maybe there's a slight language barrier.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
He hasn't been propped up to me as much as
you would if I told you what he did. But
going into this series, Rob, I was thinking what's left
to be desired, what's.
Speaker 6 (03:10):
Left for him to do?
Speaker 5 (03:12):
Before you know, we really start to strongly have these
considers greatest ever. But I won't also just say ever,
because baseball been around one hundred and fifty years whatever
it is, so you know, I don't know what guys
are doing in nineteen eleven, but at least in the
relative last forty to fifty sixty years because it's just
been remarkable what he's been able to do. Rob, and
I started to think, what is actually left for him
(03:35):
to be done? Right, you start to dig into all
of the things that he's already done. When you look
at the awards, when you look at the accolades, it's
actually insane what he has. So if you look at
the MVPs, we know how many, we know, he looks
like he's gonna win another one, which would be just
be absolutely incredible. And then you start to look at
(03:57):
now he's always three time MVP, probably gonna be four,
five time All Star, three times Silver Slugger, Rookie of
the Year, World Series title last year with the Dodgers,
and I was thinking, if he goes into this postseason
in the run that you know the Dodgers are hoping
to have to me, Rob, this will be one of
the biggest things left for him to Last season, they
win the World Series, he was solid.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
You and I talked about it, what great was solid?
Speaker 5 (04:19):
They go, Okay, if he can go into this world,
this postseason run and potentially World Series run and he
is a main cog kind of how Freddie Freeman was
for them, and started off last night two home runs
if he has one of those Barry Bonds, even though
Barry Bonds didn't win the World Series. But you know,
he's just hitting home runs. They're they're pitching around him.
(04:41):
He's just dominant. And then Oshoe O Tony has a
couple of games where he pitched six seven great innings,
one run or shutout innings. At a certain point, to me,
Rob start to have the conversation of where is he
in the greatest of all time? Because what won't be
left to be done? MVP's All Star, he's pitching at
(05:02):
a high level, could be starting on any and every
team win the World Series. Potentially when a couple have
a huge role in the World Series. I'm seriously asking you.
You've been covering baseball since nineteen eighty six. I've enjoyed
the game my whole life. It's just been remarkable. And
I think we're taking for granted what we're witness team
because we celebrated for one hundred years what Babe Ruth
(05:24):
did and now he's doing it at an even higher level.
Speaker 6 (05:27):
And it's just like we're almost like, oh, it's.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
Normal, stealing fifty bases, fifty innings, you know, fifty strikeouts,
a fifty five home runs?
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Like what can he do? And it's just been incredible
to me.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
Walk me off the ledge because I think I'm looking
at the best baseball player I've ever seen.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
Tell me I'm crazy.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
I think you're crazy.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
And basically it's because baseball, unlike some other sports. How
there's a longevity that goes with baseball. And it's not
that he hasn't excelled. Okay, and I'll give you the
perfect example. You don't need need to go far and lost.
Everybody told me Mike Trout was going to be the
greatest player ever with his start to his career.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Am I wrong on that?
Speaker 6 (06:09):
No? He was right there first.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
And now Mike Trout is not considered that anymore because
what of his health. Because it's great how you start,
it depends on how you finish. There's a there's a
long road to go in Major League baseball. You don't
you don't have an eight year career and that's all
you look at. You just talked about he made five
(06:31):
All Star Games. Hank Aaron made twenty five All Star games.
You hit me twenty five. And so it's not that
I'm discounting him. I don't think he's a great player.
What makes me pump the brakes on him is I
think he's not the greatest pitcher and he's not the
greatest hitter.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
This year.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Go look at his numbers, and you could just look
at the fifty five horns he batted under three hundred,
right after last year he bat it above three hundred.
He had fifty stolen bases last year, not as many
this year. Obviously, he pitched this year, didn't pitch last year.
So I get that there are things that are involved,
and then we have to see where his pitching leads him.
(07:12):
He's had numerous injuries.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Correct YEA.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
What if he's shelved again and has to have another
surgery on his arm, then that takes him out of
the mix of the pitching thing. As long as that's
a thing, and that's a part of his equation, Calvin,
I'll give you that that he's always going to be
looked that way without the pitching, and it's just him
(07:38):
as a hitter. I think that other people are in play.
He's not the best hitter in baseball. He's not Aaron
Judges power and average. Aaron Judge is a better hitter
than shoe hal time disagree.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
I will give you that, Aaron Judges, but I do
feel like I need to hit.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
I would probably take show, Hay or if you told
me this game game seven, you know, Bat, I'm gonna
take show.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
But I'm just saying off the numbers, I mean you're
talking about situational.
Speaker 5 (08:11):
I'm talking about Yeah, I'll give you the numbers, just
year to year, hit to hit, back to at bat.
Speaker 6 (08:17):
I'll give you that with Aaron Judge.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
But what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
That doesn't mean that he's a slout because I say that. No, no, no,
I'm just saying, you know what I mean. And then
how many you don't have to? And hey, Aaron, no, no, no, yeah,
three hitter.
Speaker 7 (08:34):
No.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
But the idea is, if you're gonna say somebody is
the greatest of all time, then there's gotta be more
to it.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
There are other players we can't discount.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yes, they didn't pitch, and I get I get the
pitching part. If he wins a Cide Young and an
m v P, I'll put my microphone down and I'll
be quiet, okay, because then then is there a debate
or a question to that. No, he's been very good
as a pitcher, not great. He's not the greatest pitcher.
(09:04):
He's not He's very good.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
Here's the thing where you can say that he's not
the best hitter, if you say he's not the best Uh,
if you say he's not the best pitcher.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
I get that. We just talked about Schoogle, there's Skins,
there's other guys. We know that.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
The thing that makes this interesting, though, Rob, is what
if he were just like meaning, if the Dodger just
roll him up. He just got off injury, you know,
and they rolled him out this year, I don't know
what he might be next year. He might actually need
the best pitcher. He might be considered a cy young
candidate next year. That is not even far fetch. And
when you look at what he's been able to do
this year, so we're well into the possibility that he
(09:47):
could be the best pitcher in a particular league.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
In this case NL, next year. That's not crazy.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
And then you keep saying he's not the best hitter, Well,
he's arguably the best situational later and he's right there
for the best hitter in overall in baseball. So to me,
if you're right there in both those positions, oh, and
by the way, he could play outfield if they needed
him in a pinch any moment. And oh, by the way,
if he really wanted to, he get still fifty bases.
That's incredible, that's remarkable. And that's to me why this
(10:15):
guy is a freaking unicorn, and that we don't need
me the as you still basis tonight for the next
couple weeks.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
Right now, we need want to produce some runs. Gotcha.
Oh we need you, as a matter of fact, go
six seven to night. We need you to pitch. Oh, okay, gotcha. Hey,
damn man, we've had any two home runs?
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Okay, let me get me.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Well, so you just you said a situational hitting, he's
great or whatever. This past year with runners in scoring position,
he batted two forty seven. It's not great that those
were his numbers for twenty twenty five. So so when
you you know, like I get it, like the numbers
are glossed over because you can see the fifty five
home runs he's betting two eighty five. He has one
(10:50):
hundred RBIs, But that's not a great number two forty
seven with runners in scoring position. All I'm saying is
he's a phenomenal player. And if he's able to maintain
and pitch, do I think he's gonna have pitch his
entire career.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
I do not. I don't. I really don't.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Given that he's been injured two or three times already.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
I think there's a chance that he won't be able
to do that.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Well, I think he stops pitching. He stops pitching. You
still wouldn say he stops pitching after this year, just
say or next year.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Okay, and you know it doesn't amount to like big
time stats. But he stopped.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
He did it, But he did, he stops doing it
becomes Babe Bruce who became just a hit her.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Would you still look at him the same way, say
he's the greatest player ever. If his pitching career.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Got I will have seen enough, Meaning I saw the
dude pitch for six seven years, however long it will
have been.
Speaker 6 (11:48):
At that point, you were playing the game hypothetically anywhere from.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
Six to eight years in MLB at an extremely high level.
Then I've seen him still basis. Then I've seen him
play center field at times. Then I've seen him hit
obviously home runs and setting dodge her that Dodgers setting
Dodger records. Dude, Yeah, I don't know. He probably That's
why I'm saying. The only other thing I want to
see him have a great playoff rung where he was
just on fire, which could happen this year.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
Would be amazing to see him. You know what it is?
What's his pitching?
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Right?
Speaker 6 (12:17):
I couldn't. I didn't hear you. Here's what now?
Speaker 4 (12:19):
Pitching record? What's his record when he pitches? Do you
know what it is?
Speaker 6 (12:24):
I pull no, I'll pull it up right now.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Thirty nine and twenty so he's nineteen games over five hundred,
and he's got a three era lifetop good, really good.
Since the greatest ever? No is that and that that that's.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Where, But that's the Sandy Kofax. I didn't say it
was Sandy Cofax. I didn't say he was Barry Bons.
He is the hybrid of those two almost, which just
makes it incredible. If he was just like a they
throw key k her nadads out there. Hey man, we
need somebody to go throw, you know, a few pitches.
We're getting blown out and I were blowing the other
team and KK because he pitched, you know, he throw
(13:00):
a little bit.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
Okay, Hi, I'd be cute if that was show Hey.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
No, he's a legitimate starter who's gonna start potentially in
the World Series if they get that is crazy. And
he also might hit a home run in the World Series.
And the fact that what I'm saying is not far
fetch is incredible. And the fact that he can maybe
still a base in a World Series game as well,
and that going and if somebody tweaked the knee or
a hand, and if they need to be in center field,
he can do it. That is insane to me. Rob
(13:25):
And I'm again because it's twenty twenty five. We have
a million things going on in our lives. We have
a million social media apps, and this going on. If
this word circa nineteen ninety two, we would be talking
about they would lead every conversation all day with this
guy does. But because we have a million things, even politically,
there's just too much going on in the world, we're
kind of like, oh, yeah, by the way, sho Hey
is like incredible, but we kind of just move on.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
All right.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine, nine,
six sixty three sixty nine. Would a strong postseason run

Plus we have oneses gotta go, so a lot to
get to in our number two of the odd couple,
but we do have calls about show. Hey, Kelvin thinks
all it takes is one more postseason run and he
would be it should be considered the.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
Greatest who ever played. I'm just not there yet.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
I think baseball is one of those sports guys played
twenty years, eighteen years and compile unbelievable numbers and uh
after that, and I get the pitching aspect, but I
don't know. At one point everybody said Mike Trout will
go down as the greatest player of all time.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
And guess what those conversations.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
What if he wears a young what you're gonna do?
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Then Wow, I said, let me see that, because then
it'd be hard for me to I'll give you a
cy young.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
And four MVPs. Tree in Chicago. You're in the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up?
Speaker 7 (16:35):
Tree, favorite show first and foremost May y'all. Yeah, young
guys always do it for you, man, So I appreciate it.
Congrat congratulations to h on everything and going back to college. Man,
that's a big deal man.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
That's coming up on Saturday, the press box being named
after me at Southern Connecticut State University of New Haven,
and I'm thrilled.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
Thank you, Tree, appreciate.
Speaker 7 (17:00):
Yeah, that's a big deal man, Well deserved, well deserved.
Gotta get it to you. Open album leaning. I'm leaning
more toward you, man. That last part you just said
brokederen for me. Everybody thought Mike Trout was gonna be
like the next guy, and then just injuries, I pick
losing seasons played the part and that did it from you. Man.
Speaker 10 (17:19):
I was I was rolling with Calvin.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
But hold over, Tree, hold on, don't leave Tree, Don't
not roll with me yet.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Why y'all keep bringing up Mike Trout as if that's
show show he's not having his experience.
Speaker 6 (17:29):
Well, I get what you're saying, but I'm saying that's nobody.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Just shows you how somebody could have a great start
to a coat.
Speaker 6 (17:35):
I hear that talking about a younger player.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
We're talking about show Hey, who's already about to be
four time? And be like, why are y'all going backwards
like he was hurt? The man that's been playing, stealing basis,
home run, pitching tree?
Speaker 6 (17:47):
What more do you want? You want him to grow
a tree?
Speaker 7 (17:51):
Right? I give this Calvin definitely the greatest of his generation,
but of all time, I will Rob, but I think
we need to just see a little bit more. But
I'm okay, I'm very impressed. Another couple of years or two.
Like your Robbin said, I think he get it. But
like uncle Rob said, it's a little bit more time.
Speaker 6 (18:07):
Man.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
Okay, that's all I want. That's all I want.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
H Then seven ninety nine on Fox, let's go to
Kenny in Mobile, Alabama.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
What's up, Kenny? You're on they couple of Fox Sports radio.
Speaker 10 (18:21):
Hey, guys, thanks for taking the call, Yes, sir, well
acause now he's in my top five. But he wouldn't
be the greatest of all time. My greatest of all
time is really may followed by Hank Aaron and Barry
Buns Posts and pre World, then Griffy Jr. He then
(18:45):
show Hey, but.
Speaker 5 (18:47):
It's hard to argue with your list. Listen, I have
Kenny place with the list. I get it, I get it.
Speaker 10 (18:53):
Yeah, yeah, I gotta show some love to the Natives
mobile and Hank Aaron you know he hit but power
and eris like, well, I'll say he was the twenty
five time all stuff, right, you.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
Know what, Let me say this about Hank Karroon. I
just wanted for people who don't know. Everybody knows, right,
seven hundred and fifty five home runs, Kelvin.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Are you ready? Yeah, if you took away Kenny, you
might know this.
Speaker 11 (19:16):
If you took away his seven hundred and fifty five
home runs, he would still have three thousand hits, which
is enough to get you in the Hall of Fame
by itself, Kenny, did you know that?
Speaker 4 (19:29):
That's how many hits he had?
Speaker 3 (19:32):
And he played twenty four seasons Kelvin and averaged one
hundred RBIs you know in the beginning of your career
at the end of your career, you're not as good.
You know, in the numbers, he twenty four years he
averaged one hundred RBI.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
That's incredible.
Speaker 6 (19:50):
So now I'm not gonna come on it. I'm not
arguing that.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
You're gonna case against Yeah.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
No, no, he's That's why there's a handful of guys.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
That's why I say, I'm not like if someone says, no,
it's Babe Ruth, I'm not gonna it's Babe Ruth. But
one thing I will say, because Showhy didn't get here
until he was in his you know, twenty three going
on twenty four, that we'll never know that first five
six years that guy.
Speaker 6 (20:12):
Typically eighteen nineteen twenty.
Speaker 5 (20:14):
He didn't get that due to add to these numbers,
because he might already be at nine time all start
now or you know eight time all start with another
four or five sixty years to go. So he had
lost that being in Japan those first few years.
Speaker 6 (20:27):
So there is.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
That that specifically in America would take away from his stats.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
All right, let's squeeze him one more.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Frankie in Redding, California, you're on the ond couple of
Fox sportuiting.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
What's up Frankie, what's going on?
Speaker 12 (20:41):
Guy?
Speaker 6 (20:41):
Love your show, Appreciate you, tak you buddy.
Speaker 13 (20:46):
So I don't know greatest player yet, but man, it's
so special, right, Like the what he does is insane.
Speaker 7 (20:55):
And the numbers though, Hang Eric, I mean that's all great.
How many worlds he win?
Speaker 6 (21:00):
You know?
Speaker 4 (21:03):
Hank Aaron? Yeah yeah, Hank Aaron won one?
Speaker 6 (21:07):
Yeah, he won one.
Speaker 13 (21:09):
I mean Lebron for those like we talk numbers, you know, Lebron.
The greatest right in your argument is Jordan's.
Speaker 6 (21:17):
You know, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (21:19):
I disagree. I think we are flowers because what he's doing.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
Yeah, yeah, No, no one saying I'm not here to
say that he's not great.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
Kelvin, did I say that or not? Amazing?
Speaker 12 (21:29):
I just heard it.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
I'm not I'm not ready. I'm not ready.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
I'm not ready to crown the greatest baseball player of
all time after eight years.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
I'm sorry, I'm seven to eight years.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
No, Yeah, I think sometimes Rob, you're able to have
an idea of what's coming down the pipeline, and I
can see it coming also coming down the pipeline.
Speaker 6 (21:48):
Jake Crawford is gonna join us here.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
He is w K YC TV Cleveland co host of
The Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show will talk some baseball with
him and others just other things happening around the sports world.

The odd couple Rob Parker kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday,
and I ask promise we got our guy, Jay Crawford
WKYC TV and Cleveland co hosts of The Ultimate Cleveland
Sports Show with somebody else who had to put up
with Rob Parker like I've had to do.
Speaker 6 (22:52):
Jay, what's up?
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Man?
Speaker 13 (22:55):
We deserve some Congressional medal of honor.
Speaker 6 (23:00):
And they said they'll be here in two weeks. But
the government shut down right now, so that's right.
Speaker 13 (23:05):
Hey, hey, rop, you know what else to shut down?
Speaker 12 (23:08):
What's that?
Speaker 13 (23:10):
You're New York Yankees?
Speaker 6 (23:11):
Oh dang, what happened?
Speaker 13 (23:16):
No, there's there still three three in the eight.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
Oh I thought something happened. No, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
Face he almost passed out his turn white, Jay, Jay,
you know, I'm from Tweens.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
I grew up as a Mets fan. I grew up
as a Mets fan. You know that.
Speaker 13 (23:31):
So anyway, but I've seen you wear Yankee gear before.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
Though.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Oh no, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 6 (23:38):
Uh let's go here.
Speaker 8 (23:39):
Though.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
There's a lot going on, and I do first want
to start with the Guardians and the Big Game. Of course,
you know, after after losing Game one and they had
a runner on third, nobody out. I know fans had
to be a little dejected. That's not a great hitting team, Uh,
the Guardians. But but they they've been winning, Jay, and
(24:00):
why don't we? I think they'll win tomorrow and win
this series and move on.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Where are you on the Guardians?
Speaker 13 (24:07):
I think they will. Even after they lost Game one,
I expected that they would scooble against the lineup that
featured six guys that are hitting less than two hundred.
You know, that's a disaster in the making. And I
felt like they had the advantage with the pitching matchup today,
even though it turned into a bullpen game. I'm my
(24:28):
biggest concern tomorrow is the shape of the Guardian's bullpen.
They had Kate Smith pitch more than three get more
than three outs in each of the last two games
at a high pitch count. Today got in trouble on
the ninth inning. I'm not quite sure why they brought
him back out in the ninth. He came on to
finish the eighth, But when you scored five or four.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
Runs in the right why would you do that?
Speaker 13 (24:52):
I have no idea. I'm literally I'm thunderstruck. I mean,
if any one of your guys in the bullpen can't
come out and get three outs before the Tigers get
four runs, they shouldn't be on a major league roster.
And so I was you know, I know that you're
in the moment, you got to win today to get
in tomorrow, and you worry about tomorrow tomorrow, But Caide
(25:13):
spent I would imagine that he would be unavailable just
because the pitch the workload that he had yesterday and today,
it doesn't make much sense. But you know what, I'm
not gonna I'm not going to live in the negative.
But if you take the win and you move on.
And you know, I liked I like Secone's got great stuff.
He's really developed a plus plus change. And I think
(25:36):
Tigers hitters are GiB you know, boy, if you're if
you're in that Tigers clubhouse, My god, guys, you talk
about a collapse of epic proportion.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Jay, We've been talking about it. And even in this series,
think about this. They have one run, two runs unearned
in a game that school will won, right, the two
unearned runs in that game and two for twenty runners
in scoring position, they've scored one run and a two games.
Speaker 13 (26:06):
One earn run. Yeah, it's amazing. And you know, they
imagine they had to feel pretty good about themselves after
schooble through. But you know, again today they find themselves
in a situation tomorrow where it's a do or die.
You know, I like, like I said, I like secone
quite a bit. I think he's got the edge over Flaerty.
(26:27):
I think it's probably going to be early bull ten
games again. Unless one of them really comes out with
lights out stuff. But it's been a good series so far.
I can't wait for tomorrow. I was at each of
the first two games. The atmosphere at Progressive Field was electric,
and for those brief three hours both today and yesterday,
(26:48):
they actually forgot about their football team, which is kind
of nice.
Speaker 6 (26:52):
The next question, Yeah, well, let's talk about that.
Speaker 5 (26:55):
You. Let us write to A Jay Crawford, our guests
here on the OCABA, Robin Kill. Let me ask you this, Chador,
Are you a good I don't know. Can you interpret
Mimi Jay? Can you can you? Can you interpret what Mimy?
What j What Shador was saying with Miami? What's going
on there? Now we know Deln Gabriel is going to
be the starter, Joe Flacco is the backup instead of
(27:17):
maybe going to third and moving up, Shador, what's going
on with the quarterback situation in Cleveland?
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Can we lose Ja?
Speaker 6 (27:28):
Do we lose j? Jay? You're there.
Speaker 12 (27:35):
All right?
Speaker 4 (27:36):
We might we might have to get Jay to call back.
Speaker 6 (27:38):
Yeah, we might have to have them called back.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
I got you there, we go, We got what happened.
Speaker 13 (27:44):
What happened was I was moving my lips, but nothing
was coming.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
Yes, you were doing a chador very nice, very nice, and.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
You thought I was gone.
Speaker 5 (27:56):
All right, Jay, all right, all right, stop, you already
have Emmy's that's another right there.
Speaker 13 (28:01):
So here's here's the deal, guys. I like Shadoor. I
think he's a great kid. I love his fun atmosphere
and vibe. But here's the problem. He went through a
terrible draft situation where his stock slid. I don't think
it had anything at all to do with his talent.
(28:23):
I think it had everything in the world to do
with the baggage that he brings, just because he's Deon
Sanders kid. And I'm not blaming Dion for this by
any stretch, But there are teams tonight that are looking
around in the NFL going, okay, Cleveland, your third string
(28:44):
quarterback has become a distraction, and that's why we didn't
call his name. I think this is what a lot
of teams feared. And it's a shame because it's not
about his talent. It's just about the stuff around him,
and he's going to get his chance to play. It's Cleveland.
We play five quarterbacks every year. I mean last year
(29:07):
we played four of the year before we played five.
He's going to get a chance. I wish the advice
he was getting was better. I wish someone in his
camp would whisper to him, dude, just come to work,
do your job. No way in the world a third
(29:28):
string quarterback should be a distraction. And that's what he
was today. And I get what he was doing. You know,
I know he's hot that Rex Ryan popped off about
to sit in the front row and all of that,
And I do feel like Shador is in a really
tough situation. Man, he really is. At the end of
(29:50):
the day, this is what's going to happen. He's going
to get his chance to play. That's when he wants
to do his talking. Just go out there and fall out.
And you know what, if he does the win the
starting job. If he doesn't, it's kind of confirmation bias
for a lot of people that have said he can't play.
(30:13):
I don't know that he can or can't, and no
one else does either. We're all gonna find out. Dylan
Gabriel will either get hurt or at some point will
be ineffective. And here's what twenty twenty five is all
about for the Browns. Figure out. If you need to
draft another quarterback next year, that's it. They're not going anywhere.
They're gonna lose, and they're gonna lose a lot.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
So, but they have a quarterback already. Deshaun Watching is
on the hook for a lot of money. He's not
gonna be the quarterback I'm.
Speaker 13 (30:43):
Asking no, No, okay, I mean Rob, you saw what
he was the last time he was in there.
Speaker 6 (30:52):
No, I get it.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
But I'm just saying, they're on the hook for all
that money.
Speaker 13 (30:55):
So they are, Yeah, they are. And really all of
this drama goes back to the decision to give him
two hundred and thirty mil guaranteed. And if you've noticed,
no one else has equaled that contract. And usually in
the NFL, when someone sets a record with a contract,
it's a record for fifteen minutes and then the next
available position, and that hasn't happened. And the reason that
(31:16):
hasn't happened is because every other team in the league
looked at Cleveland and said, what are you trying to do?
What are you doing here? We don't do that, and
as a result, Cleveland is hamstrung with two hundred and
thirty million in guaranteed they keep kicking his number down
(31:37):
the road, which means his salary cap hit of dead money.
He's uncuttable, He's really unfit.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
Here's this, That's why I think he's going to be
the quarterback.
Speaker 7 (31:48):
I don't.
Speaker 13 (31:48):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (31:49):
Well, what are you going to do?
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Have him that third string making how much? Twenty four
million or what is? What is it next to you?
Speaker 13 (31:55):
Well, guys, well no, at two thirty at five for
five years guaranteed, you're almost at forty five million a
year annually. And they've restructured his contract and kicked it
down the road, so his dead money hit, you can't
release him. And Rob, maybe you're right. You know, I'm
(32:15):
told that his rehab is going well, and I see
the videos and I know it's different from just standing
and throwing than it is running. And you know, when
you've got three hundred pound defensive lineman chasing you. I
just we saw what he was last year before the
Achilles there, and it was the worst version of DeShawn
(32:35):
we had ever seen. And that's saying something because in
his limited time in his first two years with the Browns,
he was terrible.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Yeah, we got it, we're up against it, Jay, But
I'll tell you what it's going to be interesting. You
mentioned it the way they have the quarterback cycle and
see who's going to get a shot.
Speaker 6 (32:51):
Your door should as well. Jay. We appreciate you as always.
Speaker 13 (32:54):
Mind J take care, guys, Always good.

Speaker 10 (33:57):
The five's of crowd is that when I'm plenty there
even figure it.
Speaker 6 (34:01):
Out, all right, Rob.
Speaker 5 (34:05):
So this one comes because we had this conversation on
my television show Spectrum News one, where I'm the Morning
Acre Spectrum News one. If you live in Los Angeles,
check us out. You will love it. N you do,
I know you'd be watching. When you be watching, would
you be watching now? A self driving way Mo?
Speaker 6 (34:24):
Rob? Are you familiar with waimo?
Speaker 4 (34:27):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (34:28):
Okay, So for those who.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
Are driverless car, yes.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
Exactly there. For those who aren't, they are an autonomous car.
If you ever see one, they're in a few select
cities around the country.
Speaker 6 (34:39):
They're blowing up slowly. They basically think of an.
Speaker 5 (34:41):
Uber or lyft, but autonomous car will pick you up
and it'll take you around the city to select places.
Speaker 6 (34:47):
And there's that.
Speaker 5 (34:48):
So a self driving Waymo vehicle was pulled over recently
robed up in the Bay Area because they made an
illegal U turn and the police pulled it over thinking
oh was to check it out and nobody was in it.
So the automated system had to contact somebody and they
talked to the police through.
Speaker 6 (35:05):
The car and all that.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
It was a funny little situation. So we had this conversation.
What's got me to thinking? One of these has to go?
Ways of transit? Rob Parker, Rob Alex, Ilo, everybody?
Speaker 6 (35:17):
Way mo?
Speaker 5 (35:18):
As I just described uber and lyft, I'm counting as
one subway or metro, you know, kind of those types
of systems. Taxi, good old fashioned yellow taxi or city buses.
One has to go? Which one you're kicking out? Ways
of transit? Public transportation? Who wants to go first? Ilo, Rob,
(35:41):
g Alex, anybody.
Speaker 12 (35:45):
I guess I'll go since you all? Are you ever
enjoyed here?
Speaker 15 (35:48):
Uh?
Speaker 12 (35:49):
This one's easy? Oh god, I think I got this one.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
It's easy.
Speaker 12 (35:54):
The correct answer is way MO.
Speaker 15 (35:57):
I have and I have potential leave full self driving capabilities,
and I ain't doing it because I don't trust the robots.
I don't know if you've ever seen Terminator or the Matrix,
but eventually the machine stake over and having driven in
one of the Tesla's when they had full self driving
capability and seeing them swerve lanes for no reason because
their their their camera misconstrued like a pothole for another car.
Speaker 12 (36:21):
Nope, can't do it. I'm out on the way.
Speaker 5 (36:23):
Moo. I hear you on that, and I hear you.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
Oh go ahead, go ahead, Oh go ahead, rop, go ahead.
Rock Yeah. I'm with Rob g.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
First of all, I don't want to put human beings
out of business.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
We need to stop going to the.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Checkout, self checkout, stop going to self serve gas stations,
stop going to the soup, the places in the in
the airport where they have no workers and you go
in with your credit card and you pick whatever you
want and walk out and automatic charge.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
Can we stop human beings?
Speaker 3 (36:56):
We need to stop allowing these things to put us
out of work.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
It doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 6 (37:02):
Way mo is way out of bound, Rob Parker, what's
your vote?
Speaker 5 (37:08):
Hey, I'm with you. I'm gonna just jump in, believe
it or not. I wanted to say all the other ones,
but it's way moo because it's way more dangerous. I
feel being in one of those. I feel like, you know,
first of all, Rob, if it malfunctions, I'm stuck in it.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
I'm in the backseat just screaming for my swerve. It turning.
Speaker 5 (37:28):
I just I feel like we've seen too many movies
like I Robot that have told us it's gonna go
bad at some point, and I don't want to be
in the car when it does.
Speaker 6 (37:36):
Uber and Lyft are perfect. That's all I need. If
Nita Ryant step out hit the Uber.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
Those are one of the top five greatest creations when
it comes at Uber and Lyft.
Speaker 6 (37:43):
So I'm team those Way Moo gots to go for me.
Speaker 12 (37:46):
You guys are all them, You're all wrong.
Speaker 6 (37:48):
What you got? What you got, Alex?
Speaker 14 (37:49):
Do you know why you're all wrong? Why you know
what Waymo's not gonna do? And my life on a
city bus, that's what they're not gonna do. You know
what else they're not gonna do. Talk my ear off
in a yellow cab because that's all they do for
a living. You know what, It's gonna be peaceful, quiet,
and I'm gonna get there when I need to. You
guys keep saying you want to get rid of the
comment mat Rob. I don't know if you know this,
the comment mad are not too good anymore. People are terrible,
(38:10):
they don't want to work. Everybody's unhappy. I mean, you
can literally end your life for having a political view.
Speaker 12 (38:15):
These days.
Speaker 14 (38:16):
You know what, I'm embracing the robots. I'm welcoming them
with open arms, and I'm excited to sit back and
watch them do the world correctly as we can.
Speaker 8 (38:23):
Alex, for one, welcomes our new robot over life.
Speaker 6 (38:26):
I do. I don't but continue.
Speaker 14 (38:31):
Well, I hate to sound like another Teddy Kazinski, but yeah,
I'll just leave the leave the drivers to the humans.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
Please, all right? Yep, you're the only one, Alex.
Speaker 5 (38:41):
And when I when the robots go crazy, O, you
don't come calling us man.
Speaker 14 (38:44):
Well, I'll be the one sitting there while you guys
are taking it.
Speaker 6 (38:46):
I'm sending you to voicemail
