Don't forget. Coming up bottom of the hour in about
twenty eight minutes, it's Sierra Clark, one of the college kids.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
She joins us. Yeah, yes, well too good. She is good.
Some kid's been pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
They have been good except for we to get on
our because you remember she had total Alabama, Yes, you
remember that, you remember that?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah, you agree, graduated.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
And I was like, I'm not buying that one yet.
And of course Alabama did beat Georgia, so we'll Georgia.
Well we'll rask her little bit, all right. Update real quick.
The Cubs and Brewers are starting about an hour. But
it's one nothing Phillies. There was a double play attempt. Yeah,
she yeah, tried to uh, the pitcher tried to cover first,
(02:12):
the ball got away and put a runner in scoring position.
And then the next guy, who is that Cassiano's doubled
to left field. So the Phillies one nothing, man on
second and there's only one hour.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
So yeah, and MANSI was concerned when it happened. She
and yeah, she is me. He was solid, and then
that last out and we saw in one grade and
now you wonder if he's a little shook us from that.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Yeah, he was great during the regular season and then
his last postseason appearance, which was short. It just was
not something that left me feeling comfortable. So I wasn't
sure what we were gonna see. And we know that
Nick Castellanos likes to perform in big moments.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
That's the only thing he does, right.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
But he does get hits. But yeah, listen, you.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Have a one even even the other night, if you
remember Game two in Philadelphia, he got the hit, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
He wound up getting out at third base, but he
gets hit.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Yeah, the running wasn't great there, but he always tends
to hit when it matters.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Right, But this was this was what you We talk
about this all the time. When you make a miscue
in the playoff. It always seemed to just come I
said that to you right there. I was like, because
that's what we've been talking about. Every pitch, every little missqueue,
bad ball, way, something off you missed. You know, you
kind of lose sight of it in the outfield because
you're ready to alread, look where I'm gona throw it,
(03:31):
and you drop it like Aaron Judge did. Just stuff
happens and then it kind of can unfold from there.
So if he can get out of this, that'd be great.
But that they're on the board now.
Speaker 6 (03:39):
Yeah, I'm surprised you guys haven't mentioned Dave Roberts pulling
Glass now six shutout in strikeouts, only scattered to it,
so he had eighty three pitches. I saw they pull
him to get she in andto Monci's point, in this postseason,
coming into this game two and a third inning, four hits, allowed,
three earned runs, two walks, one strike out, e r
(04:00):
A A chubby to what Rob Parker eleven point five seven?
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I love that?
Speaker 6 (04:05):
And he's the guy to reply, I know Glass that.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
What what is the reason? Because your bullpens lined up
a certain way?
Speaker 1 (04:12):
I hate when they pitch out of the bullpen the
other night he pitched that the other day.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
The plan was always for him to be available for
this game. He did pitch out of the bullpen, but
it was that was a short maybe two innings. The
plan was always for him to start.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
No, no, no, I'm saying, but why you didn't keep having
them go further.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
That's what I don't think. I don't think so because
that they use it.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
When they put him out of the bullpen, it was
like instead of having a throw day, you know what
I mean, that was like, we'll just have you throw
in the game rather than throwing the side. So that's
why they thought we could have him do that. And
still you know, have them pitch exactly.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
But I don't know.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I mean, you're right, rob g eighty three pitches doesn't
seem like he's gassed to me.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
And what do we talk about with the Tigers?
Speaker 4 (04:53):
And obviously he lost the game ultimately school, but it
wasn't because of him, you know, he pitched well, I mean,
why can't guys go seven?
Speaker 1 (04:59):
They why seven two thirds? Why can't you go eighty?
Speaker 6 (05:02):
If you're good enough, give me the whole game.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Nolan Ryan ain't walking through these doors.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
I want him.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
I want to send me.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Come back, say walking through these doors.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
To resurrect and other little kids.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
So in a couple of years we're seeing them.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Is that I'm gonna end on this on this whole day.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Nolan Ryan once pitched the game and extra this is
crazy and Monty threw two hundred and thirty five pictures.
Look it up if you guys think I'm crazy. Two
hundred and thirty five pitches. Rob g he made his
next startin that's that's crazy, Robby.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
What all I tell you when we call? We do
our call every day, I say, Robbie.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Kobe Bryant scoring eighty one, He's that still needs to
talk about every day, like, hey, welcome to show.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
By the way, Kobe Bryan scored. What that needs to
be the second ship we need to say, by the way,
Nolan Ryan's to two hundred and pictures. That don't even
make it like they guys can't go more than eighty now,
they're like what they're like more than one hundred?
Speaker 6 (05:57):
They're like last now is last pitch? St got the
last guy he faced ninety seven miles an hour?
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Wow, So what I don't know? She? I mean, the
only guy got the one?
Speaker 6 (06:08):
They a bigger question. Why your guys dealing? He's all
these scattered two it's he struck out two of the
last three guys he faced.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
You know what it is?
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Well, I mean, I don't know if this is about
to be the topic of the day, but I'll just
answer that real quick, Robzie. I think they're playing so
far along, like the long game, whereas historically you name
the sport, it was in the moment.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
No, no, not now, It's just it's they look.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
At the numbers and know that people the third time around,
the averages are better. If I see a guy three
times in a game compared to two, I have a
better shot. But that's still that's what they that's what
they're doing. But I don't agree with that. I don't
agree if somebody has good stuff and it's pitching a
good game until they get in trouble, I'm not taking
them out.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I'm just that that's me. No, No, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
When the war guy or something, I walk to a roll,
Oh you give up?
Speaker 1 (07:02):
All right, all right, come on out. You don't have it?
I got it.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
If a guy still has it, it's absolutely no problem
to go ahead. But then to me, they they're looking
too far ahead, and sometimes in the moment, like you said,
I gotta look at my guy. He's gonna give me
a look and be like, no, I'm a one and
you ain't pulling me out this game?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Who did that? Snell? Earlier? Snell was like, hey, you
ain't pulling me out. You need that.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
And right now what they're doing is all right, this
is his second time, there'll be third time. Seeing then
numbers saying indicators indicate that if he and they have
two left handers coming to what we need to do.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Man, sometimes you gotta just go in the moment. We're
trying to win a series.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
All right, Hey, if you're gonna do that, why are
you paying a guy thirty million dollars if you're gonna
treat him like he's the random I believe it doesn't
even make.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Sense, Like it's like a receiver one hundred million dollars
and you don't need the bass. He was trying to
slip that in, like I know what he's talking. You
know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (07:48):
No, I don't know, because you're winning the game.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
It's a game game, No, I get it. Let's go here.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
The Yankees are eliminated and the blue he ain't celebrated,
and they did, they did their thing, and the manager
was in there at the you know, talk about start
spreading the news. He was singing Frank Sinatra. That was
a dig at the Yankees. And now people are like, oh,
the Yankees got their longest championship drought. They haven't won
(08:18):
since two thousand and nine, sixteen seasons. Now, for the Yankees,
that's a long because they've won twenty seven championships and
they are used to winning every so often, or at least,
you know, they're in there a lot, but they were
used to winning. And now that people are saying whether
or not they're still the pre eminent franchise in Major
(08:38):
League Baseball, And I'm gonna tell you what, are you
gonna tell me they still are? And and people it's
hard to win. And I'm gonna even like the Dodgers, right,
we talk about they've won two in the last since
twenty twenty, Right, they won two since, But before that
twenty twenty they went thirty one years. They won in
(09:00):
like nineteen eighty eight or something, right, nineteen eighty eight,
and then two thousand was that thirty two years?
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Like it's hard to win.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
The Rangers had never won, they won a World Series,
you know, like you could go on and on and on.
The Tigers haven't won since nineteen eighty four. The Mets
haven't won since nineteen eighty six. Can I go on
and on? I can go on the Angels haven't won
since two thousand and two.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
We can go on. It's hard to win.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
But the Yankees are always in the mix, and they
are always viable, and it always feels like they have
a shot at some point, and they've come close. And
when they finally made to the World Series, they lost
to the Astros during the cheating scandal.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Right there were in the right, they were in the Alcs.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Then they lost on Game seven on a pitch that
they thought they knew what was coming. If you remember
Altuve hit that home run and then didn't want his
jersey pulled off.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Yes, and there you go, five to Bay.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
But you know what I'm saying, Uh, I don't think
anybody has replaced the Yankees. We know the Dodgers and Yankees,
or two of the premiere franchises. We call the Dodgers
now the Evil Empire because they're spending money like it's
going out of style.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
They're trying to do something that the last team that.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Did it right, well, the Yankee Yankees in ninety nine
two thousand, they won back to back. No one's done
it in twenty five years. The Dodgers are trying to
do it. But I still think they're the pre eminent
franchise in Major League Baseball.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
So I'm not gonna act like I can ignore what
the Yankees have been for the last hundred and hundred
and fifty years whatever.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
But what I what I'll do is and I was
just explaining this.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Monzi and I during the break, we were talking about
we're talking sports, and it ended up talking about Clippers.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
You know, she's a Clipper fan.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
And I'll give you an example what I think the
Dodgers may have done to the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
That is, there's a younger.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
Generation who if you're thirty and under, well, if you're
thirty and under, you have seen maybe even thirty five.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
You've seen the Dodgers.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
As you mentioned, they've been to four Worlds here they
won a couple twenty twenty, twenty twenty four, so that's
a huge thing.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
You've seen them win a couple.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
You've seen them been to four World Series, where you
haven't seen that with the Dodgers or with the Yankees.
They got the two rings. They've won their division twelve
out of thirteen times. So you talk about always being there,
the Dodgers are always at least in the postseason because
they won their division twelve out of thirteen times. So
what reminded me of is they have a chance to
kind of what the Clippers had a chance to do
here in La. If you were a kid between seven
(11:29):
eight ish to like fourteen fifteen, well, when the Lakers
were really bad those last five six years of Kobe
run and they just were a bad team. All of
a sudden, the Clippers were really good, and they were
fun and they're exciting. It was Chris Paul was lop City.
If you were a kid, that was lit, like, oh,
shoot dunks everywhere, Jamal Crawford handles crazy plays, and that
was a fun team.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
But they didn't win.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
And I was telling Monty earlier they had a chance
to maybe steal some of the shine. And that's what
I think the Dodgers have done to the Yankees the
last handful of years, ten years or so.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Take a little bit of the shine, just a little bit. Historically.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
Nobody can top Yankee agree with that. But a couple
other things where I know the Dodgers are making some
dance into that it might be the team of the now.
When I got a house Steinbrenner commenting back in January,
and you and I talked about it that the Dodgers
massive spinning was quote difficult for most of us owners.
When I got a house Steinbrenner or the Yankees, who
(12:20):
have been outspinning everybody, the biggest spinners for the last
fifty years, and all of a sudden, they're like, yeah,
I don't like what those Dodgers are doing. They're buying
up everybody. It's not fair for the rest of us.
That's what I knew. The Dodgers are starting to become
the evil Empire and take some of the.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Thrown from the Yankees.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
When I got the owner of the Yankees saying, ah, man,
I don't like what they're doing. And I like Ice
cubes performance over Fat Joe's performers too last season in
the postseason.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
But I think the I think.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
The Dodgers because of the rings, because of all the
player Here's mon Oh what you got, hi, guys?
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Oh what just happened? She's doing her requote? Okay, I
thought she.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
I thought, I'm just looking like like the something just
happened to show he hated a Grand Slam.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
A judge might come back next year.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
And my last point too is I also think Rob
the Dodgers being able to get Mookie, keep them, Freddie
Freeman got them, keep them show hey, Yoshinobu. I think
they have the big stars that are staying there too.
I think the star power is at it as well.
So historically I can't argue with I mean, the Yankees
are the Yankees are the Yankees, but I think the
Dodgers that made a massive dent the last decade or
(13:25):
so and be kind of taking some of that little
bit of that shine and maybe becoming the team of
the now.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Okay, even though the Giants have won three World Series
in the last twenty years, and the Giants ain't it though,
but I know, I know they're not. I'm just saying,
but they've won more World Series than they have they
which is weird because you don't look at the Giants
that way.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
But they won three and six years the real good
really what nice little run?
Speaker 2 (13:48):
They did have a nice run, all right, eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven, nine nine
six sixty three sixty nine. I know they haven't won
a World Series in sixteen years, But are the Yankees
still the marquis franchise of Major League Baseball? We want
to hear from you, Give us a call eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 1 (14:08):

Me a good little Saturday morning show for teenagers.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
It was and also forty year olds like you didn't
enjoy it. I watched it. I know you did. This
was lit this. I can't lie.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
This was kind of lit ah.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
For forty years, ti Iraq has been helping customers find
the right tires.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
It's a big moment for Tani. I'm sorry here it
is second and third. He's like they walked him.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
They did the right thing. That's the right thing to do.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Even though he's bat one fifty six, I'm putting a
force out everything.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
I need you to settle down on his exact batting
average last last hour. You knew it was what sixty?
Speaker 9 (15:57):
What is it?
Speaker 3 (15:57):
What came back?
Speaker 1 (15:58):
He said in one fifty six?
Speaker 4 (15:59):
If you don't rele And now, when we talked about this,
I mean tirack by the way of course, back by
free Road has a protection with convenient installation options like
mobile tire installation, tyreck dot com the way tirebox should be.
This is what Mooki said. He talked about this last series.
He said, I have to be ready because they asked him.
You know, they keep walking on Tani and people pitching
(16:19):
around him, and there's no disrespect Tomoki. It just makes sense,
like in this one, you have a force at any base.
It's a lefty hitter against the righty pitcher. Mooki is
a right handed hitter. This is not disrespect.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
This is smart.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
It's not but you gotta look at it as disrespect whatever.
It's like Michael Jordan walking up to people. What you
say about my mama. They're like, hey, I didn't say anything.
I don't know your mom. Yeah, okay, you're gonna talk
about moms. I'm dropping fifty on your head.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
This is a different But falling behind O two is
not good because if I'm Mooki, I'm locked in right here.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Oh yeah, I'm getting my best Hookie. He swung it.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Men, But that's what I'm saying. That was the pitch,
that was the one. Yeah, that's what he got it
right over to the plate. A hunted mookie swung you miss.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yeah. I act like we're about to take a We're
all gonna take a call. Eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. Monzi's a little worked up in there. We
should go right now to hey, Manzi, what's your name?
Your nails? Manzi? She wouldn't be ready. Don't my nails?
What is it now? One and one and three, three
and one about three? I'm sorry? Yeahslexi, No, you know what?
Speaker 3 (17:24):
No one, no, no no.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Next to Mookie, they got a one in three. They're
talking about what he's done today. So I'm looking at that.
I saw I won in three.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Oh, come on, moke, foul ball.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
Let me slowly say yeah, eight seven, seven, nine on
f Let's take a call.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Who we got We're gonna take the call. No, we're
gonna take the car. Take him. Ken in Stockton, you're
on the couple Fox, what's up?
Speaker 4 (17:52):
Ken?
Speaker 6 (17:52):
Hey boy?
Speaker 10 (17:55):
You know the evil and.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
Man wait a manute.
Speaker 10 (18:01):
The only hate con because I'm a Giants man. I
hate the Dodgers, but the Evil Emperor he's still the
Yankees because they're doing what the Dodgers did all these years.
Bye bye bye. Let me buy all these stars and
they lose. And you know what I love the most?
Speaker 1 (18:20):
All right, big Poppy? All right, Big Poppy did that
on the on the game.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
By the way, somebody the greatest tweet or whatever wherever
I saw maybe it was Instagram, don't know, but they
said big Poppy is for the for Fox.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Charles Barkley was for t t That is the perk
that is.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
I'm like that because he brings because Derek Jeter's greatest
and and and and you know, a Rod's doing his thing,
but Poppy makes it because he's gonna say something funny
or colorful.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Is the accent is just something like just like Chuck
and his accent. So yeah, you're saying something stupid.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
He put he put vodka in Frank Thomas's water during
the show, and Frank, the Dodgers have tied the game
on a basis loaded walk on a three two pitches down?
Speaker 1 (19:01):
How you got taoscar of who this is what he does?
Speaker 2 (19:03):
And uh this is uh they walked ough Tani even
though we're struggling and it's the right move, but your
pitcher has to throw strikes and that that is not
what happened. And he winds up walking into time run
and I know that there the Phillies are sick. Uh,
so we'll see what happens here is one is one
and one is the count.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Coming up? Don't forget we got college kids. Oh yeah,
you can't see our clock. That will be good.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
She uh, she's been great and looking forward to seeing
what she has also shop talk coming up and see
what Rob g cooked up in just a little bit.
This might be the worst update we've ever got from Manci.
Mancy Milanos is going to attempt to give you an update.
Speaker 3 (19:41):

That's right, it's college kids here on the odd couple
on Fox Sports. Right, I said, when we invite somebody
to come in and talk a little college foosball. In
order to do so this week Talking SEC, we had
to bring in Sierra Clark, host of the Sect podcast. Sierra,
how you doing good?
Speaker 2 (20:18):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (20:20):
We're doing great?
Speaker 2 (20:21):
We're great, everything except for your Georgia over Alabama picked
the last I'm gonna let you live it down, Sierra.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
I wasn't gonna let you get away with that one.
Speaker 11 (20:31):
Yeah, I should have known. And you know, it's like
Alabama is like that ex girlfriend that Georgia cannot get over.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
Well said, I thought you said you was done with her.
I know, man, No, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
All right.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Other than that, you've been rolling very good. All right,
let's go college kids.
Speaker 6 (20:49):
Well, speaking of ex girlfriends, how about a current girlfriend.
Jen Hudson's probably the only good thing happening in North
Carolina right now. And Sierra says that this Belichick experiment
of UNC should really be a lesson learned for all
parties involved. Serre, explain yourself.
Speaker 11 (21:04):
Yeah, it just pretty so the between college and the
NFL doesn't always work. He saw it with Nick Stave
and he was okay with the Dolphins, but got that
itch to coach in college. She Burrier, who I adored
as a Gator a look, did not work out in
the NFL. And Ervin Meyer, father Gator. I guess that
was also very embarrassing with his expirit with the Jaguars.
And it's just like college and the NFL is just
(21:26):
so different. Bill Elsick, I guess is one of the
greatest football coaches of all time. Or he just had
Tom Brady for a million of years.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Who knows.
Speaker 11 (21:33):
But college is so different, especially now with the nil
and recruiting. The locker room has to be united. Like
I'm sorry, I cannot picture Bill Belichick going into a
small town in the Deep South trying to recruit some
kid and convince his me maw that he's going to
be in a good space for the next four years.
I just don't know.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Well, I'm gonna say this, Sierra. You graduating always congratulated, say.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Here, here's the thing. You hit on a lot of it.
It's just it's it's such a full time commitment. And
me and Rob always talk about all the coach you know,
I never leave here. I sleep here. I don't even
see my wife, kids and my dog.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
And yeah, we'll add that to college, where you gotta
travel across the couch. You gotta persuade parents and grandpa.
You gotta do this, you got you gotta recruit, you
gotta watch kids in high school. It's so much that
goes into it as a program, and I don't think
you could just jump into that.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Especially at seventy three years old. It ain't happening. Cappin.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Yeah, I think that you are graduating as well, I say, congratulates,
this was the first guess. Kelvin and I both like,
this is a disaster written all over it, and what
a mistake. It just was a mistake and there's no
way he might get out of it before the season
is over. But this is a one and done for sure,
(22:50):
all right. Topic number two the sec addition of college kids.
Sierra Clark the Sect podcast here with the odd couple.
Speaker 6 (22:57):
Topic number two. I don't know if you guys know this,
but Archie been a wild disappointment so far.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
No, no, no, he's the number one, number one pick.
Heisman guaranteed you when they had said that early the
five bombs said that he was the greatest prospect he'd
ever see.
Speaker 6 (23:11):
That's right, all right, I'll go to the Senate anyways.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
So Serra said, you know what, just to keep it, you.
Speaker 6 (23:18):
Know, straightforward. The arch Manning hype was plain old toxic art. Uh, Sierra,
explain yourself.
Speaker 11 (23:25):
I just think it is so bad, especially for a
kid so young, for everyone to say all this crazy
stuff like you just said, you know that he's the greatest.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Of all time.
Speaker 11 (23:34):
People are calling him a generational talent. I saw people
say that next year he's gonna have a blue star
on his helmet, assuming that he's gonna play for the Cowboys,
And I'm like, you guys need to chill out. I mean,
and he has not loved up to the hype. Granted,
his team is not very good, especially offensively. He was
sacked six times against Florida and he was also the
(23:54):
leading rusher as a freaking quarterback, Like you can't do that,
and so I just think it's really bad to put
that much pressure on a kid, especially like he didn't
play much last year. I don't know why Texas in
high school even he was great, but he was playing
against Private. You want to play you know and talk
(24:15):
ls you kids that are out of the South bron rouge, Sarah.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Let me just stop you there. You graduated. I always
say congratulations. What I was talking about he played Chinese
kids in college and high school? What is that they're saying? Yeah,
like the kids were smaller. So I don't know I
missed that one. Yeah, I'll say this a Chinese football
team I've never heard of. I'm just asking.
Speaker 4 (24:40):
You brought up a good points here when you say
his freshman year, it wasn't like he was just rockstar,
balling out of control.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
He's behind yours.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
He didn't play a lot, So the hype that he
was automatically the number one and automatically the heisman was
a bit premature, and he should get HYPEE was solid,
he was good in high school. He obviously comes from
a great family, so you thought would get hype that
that's kind of a given. But where they're giving it
to him as like an automatic, that was the part
that was confusing to me.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
So I'm with you on that.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
And now their question if he was coming back, Oh,
he's coming back next year. He ain't got no choice.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
I'm gonna say it's sophomoric.
Speaker 10 (25:15):
Okay, back to his cool, back to his cool.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
From this standpoint, you just brought it. He comes from
the bloodline. His grandfather was a quarterback in the NFL.
He's got two uncles who were who could eventually both
be in the Hall of Fame. So yes, he's going
to He played quarterback, not a dB. He's not a
wide receiver, so there was going to be nothing but hype.
(25:39):
How many people in their football families have this many
people playing the same position, right, quarterback, star all that,
So I don't know if it was toxic, it might
have been over the top or whatever the high road. Yeah,
but I don't know toxic now because I think it
makes sense to have a third generation quarterback with the
(26:01):
Manning name.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
But it was over the top, all right.
Speaker 6 (26:04):
Last one, College Kids with sierraic Clark the Sect podcast.
It's like four letters but it's tea, So it's kind
of cho is that what? It is tricky for me
to say it out loud sometimes getting a little ton
dot here like like drama. Yes, we love tre on
the show and here we go. Last one Sierra Clark.
Sierra says, point blank, period, the world hyped up the
(26:26):
wrong SEC teams this year. Sierra tell us why Yeah,
So it kind.
Speaker 11 (26:31):
Of goes along with our last point saying that Texas
is very hyped up. A lot of it had to
do with arch Maanning, but they did make it to
the College Football Playoff there, so I do get that
hype there. But still I think Arch Manning had a
lot to do with them. They were the number one
preseason favorite to win the SEC, and the SEC now
just doesn't look like at all like it was Texas,
Georgian and Bama is the top three. Now it's all
(26:53):
Miss Texas, A and M and Bama, and I have
a little bit of a boner pick because y'all went.
I said, I thought the Ole Miss game would be
one of the most exciting games. They're like, no, no, no, no,
but all this their quarterback is one of the greatest
stories of college football. He's a G two transfer of
the backup and now is just the star names that James.
But it just shows that BETCC can just be all
(27:15):
over it, all over the place, and I think we
just need to give every team an opportunity to prove themselves.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
You are I'm going to say, you are not graduating
too cool. Back to cool, Seierra. You know how it's
always about the blue blood. They're not going to give
everybody equal love. It doesn't work like that.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
The teams that have always been historically the best teams
are always going to get the love no matter what.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
Sierra. In this case, I know you're thinking no glove,
no love. That's not working here.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
The last two times you've gone, you've been out razors.
I'm sorry about that, but you are staying in school
for me as well.
Speaker 11 (27:54):
Back too cool?
Speaker 4 (27:57):
Yeah, my baggirl. Listen, Rob roducgrapel. Okay, in fact, the
matter we talked about what we just talked about last segment,
Dodgers Yankees. We played the greatest hits in sports for sure, Cowboys.
But but and I also will say this right now.
You know, right now the country is going a little crazy.
Right now, you want these schools to get d I
they not bringing them schools in here. They're not bringing
up little schools and talking about them right now. It's
(28:19):
a different era right now. Okay, we're going through some
unusual times in the country, Sierra. No, they're gonna talk
about them. This is a great chance for those other
schools to make some noise because if more teams are
gonna play SEC teams are gonna keep playing each other.
You got a chance to beat these teams and make
some more noise. So you got to take advantage of
this new scheduling. How it's working.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
And that's college kids. Thanks Sierra, thank you. We'll do
it again.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Uh. By the way, Elijah, that's pretty cool the logo
you may, I don't know. I just seen that just
pictures of them, No, not the pictures of them now
they no, I couldn't see like if it was used
like a picture of you. No, it was good, yeah
the first time I saw it, So shout out that.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
Eli.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Why I'm hitting them up at three in the morning
trying to see if you can get some graphics for me.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
At least you're honest. I'm just saying, Elijah, you know,
I don't hit you. I don't know, Elijah, don't put that.
Don't put the logo back up. They might come get that.
They might come get them, Elijah, they might come hit
those collars. It's a different Ara right now.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
That's right. Just don't put them up anymore?
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Now is Elijah knows you know. I'm passionate about this show.
I'm not like some people who are fly by night.
You know, any offer that comes by, they might consider
it or whatever. They might decide that they want to
move on, and they know they have something so good
here and they would even consider anything else. It's so
(29:49):
freaking painful. I'm off at three o'clock in the morning
trying to make the odd couple better.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
Damn it. I want this show to be the best
that it can be. I want to be the best
show on Fox Sports Radio, on this network. And you
were saying you would never leave that.
Speaker 9 (30:04):
No.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
I would never leave that under any circumstance.
Speaker 6 (30:07):
Hey, Rob, G, what do you think if Dan Patrick changes?
Speaker 1 (30:10):
Say yo Elijah make means a Dan Patrick logo? I
need that a chap all right? Oh God, Shop talk

Speaker 6 (30:24):
It can't beat dead Rob.
Speaker 1 (30:26):

Speaker 4 (30:28):

of two hundred pounds. We got shop talk coming up.

on there? Again? He don't stand a chance. You know,

know just something about you.
Speaker 4 (30:52):

Speaker 2 (32:23):
You will talk about whoever, whatever, whatever you want to
in the bos so why.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
You know it's shop talking that's right.
Speaker 6 (32:30):
It is shop talk here on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio, saying what we talk about somethingpp outside the
world of sports. This week we're cheating because this week's
topic comes to us from the world of sports. Lebron
James is gonna miss the start of the Lakers regular
season because he has a sciatica issue, which is medically
defined as pain affecting the back hip gluts an outer
(32:52):
side of the lake. And if you want to be
a casual about it, it's something the old people get
hold up. So here's the question, guys and ladies, when's
the last time, like Lebron that you just felt old?
Speaker 1 (33:06):
Can I go first? I have gray hair, I'll go first.
So it was a number of years ago.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
And I was at a dollar store again it supplies
for the barbershop, with my business partner, Tiko, and we're
at the air and as a young girl's a cashier.
She looked at us and she said, that's awesome, you
and your dad shopping together.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
Chico is ten years older than me.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
Ten year not twenty, I mean younger, ten years younger
than me.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Yeah, I was so hurt. I said to her, do
I look like his father? She said, yeah you do.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Yeah, that's a drive home. Quiet I was, and Tico
has never let me live that long. Oh yeah, you
know you can't ever get a roastock. He's gonna hit
you with that one back. Man, that's a good question.
There have been many moments, but I'll tell you one
most just top of mind that just happened, you know, recently,
like the last month and a half.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
So was that when you fell on the stairs you
felt old? Did you break the hip? That one was
probably exactly a year ago. And I just joined the show.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
For those who don't know Elijah, now, I'm about the
intre who Okay, don't be here right now. You can't
be laughing at this man. So you guys who don't know,
I do a morning show. So I had to get
up at the bluck crack of dawn, crazy early crash,
and we had. The craziest part is we had a
house full. My folks were in town. We had I
think my sister was in town. So I'm trying to
get out the house swiftly, but I'm also trying to
(34:41):
get out quietly. And I took that first step and
I was a little aggressive with it, and my pants leg.
The pant leg was over the heel a little bit,
so all all hairs on the stair was and I
just and I broke my entire left side, my neck,
my back, my neck, he had my back and I
was broke down. But that wasn't even I was talking
(35:02):
about Alex the other day he better calk up that crack.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Yeah, it was on. That was me right now.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
The other day, when my daughter's in the front yard
basketball room, a couple of other little friends are there
and they're like, sir, can you dunk?
Speaker 1 (35:14):
Can you dunk? Mind you?
Speaker 4 (35:15):
The rim is like eight foot. I guess all the
way loose to everybody, this was really bad. And I
go up to do it cause they're sweating me. Come
on deck one and I did it, but in midjump,
I said, I felt my achille say, if you go
one more millivator, I'm snapping like I felt it like
it was like hanging on by a thread. And I
(35:35):
landed and the land and I literally was it's about
to pop, and you know, all the kids like oh,
and I was like, wow, I can't even jump eight
feet anymore. That was the day, Like hello darkness, my
friend like eight fee come on rod. You know, I boom,
that's nothing, and I had to act like I was
a hero. But at that one in the house, and
I've reflected about my life at that moment, like I
can't even dunk on a little eight foot rim And
(35:56):
my Achille said, brode that again, I dare you.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
Okay, Manty, I'm with you.
Speaker 5 (36:01):
That's like there's a lot of moments really where I'm like,
oh man, I feel it. But I just went to
not Scary Farm on Sunday night and I work here,
so I had to go late, right, So I went late,
and then I had to go to the Dodgers Before
I even went there anyway, I got home at one
in the morning, and I had to work the next
day at the Dodgers, not that early. I had to
be at work at nine and I got home at
like one thirty in the morning, and I was like,
I can't do this anymore. I cannot stay out late
(36:24):
the way I used to do, the way I used
to just keep going party it up.
Speaker 6 (36:29):
Who cares.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
It's like, I'll be there, but I'm like crying on
the inside.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
Yeah, listen, I have nights, so I still gotta be
up three fifty rough five nights where it's like there,
robbed you.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
Robbed you, and now it's come on, we only got
a minute to go.
Speaker 6 (36:41):
Well, my last one was similar to yours with a basketball.
But the first time I really felt old. I was
at my in law's house and they have little chairs
for the kids to sit on, like they're like half yea, yep, right,
They're not really that tall so you couldn't get up.
She asked me like, hey, dad, sit next to me.
I'm like, all right, cool, So I go to sit down.
You ever sit down too fast?
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (36:57):
And you go down and like it happens really coo.
So what I was sat down too fast? At my
knee buckled and I fell on the floor and I
heard loud pop and I was just laying on the
ground or laying on the carpet. It's like a good
fifteen minutes and nobody could figure out what happened.
Speaker 9 (37:12):
Yeah, Alex, you Yeah, Mine's funny. It was with my lady.
We were shopping somewhere. Some random kids came up to
us and like, oh, that's so cool you're shopping with
your daughter. He's like, hey, don't hate because you can't
pull you don't yeah, you and Alex who y'all hanging
around in a theory. Young people just can't tell difference
of all that's real.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
That's real thing too. Yeah, the first time you get
gold let the gray hair fool you. I don't have
gray hair everywhere I got watching a guy can die
