Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to the best of the Odd Couple.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Obviously, if you're the Lion, is just a tough loss.
You don't want to lose that game, especially when you
had that opening drive. You're feeling good about yourself, had
a nice cute little trick play. They called back somehow.
The Chiefs always get those kind of calls. But that's
neither here nor there.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
There you go, typical lines home or like.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Everybody had been saying that about the Chiefs for the
last two three years. No, but it was it was
less about them to me and about the Chiefs and
specifically what I've kind of been saying for half full
of weeks ever since they beat the Ravens, when I said, man,
their offense is about to get going. We had been
complaining about the Chiefs offense for the last two seasons,
justifiably so they have been historic lows for Patrick Mahomes

(01:07):
for the team.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Somehow.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
They obviously got to the Super Bowl a couple of times,
one to one, and then lost last year, so we
kind of outweighed how they had performed. But I started
to see, man, when they start getting pieces back, when guys,
they've also picked up a couple of nice pieces, and
Patrick Mahomes is starting to look like Patrick Mahomes to
the tune Rob that he is doing things that we
haven't seen him do in quite some time. I'm talking

(01:30):
about numbers that he really hasn't even done since twenty eighteen.
You look at some of these right now, Patrick Mahomes
is averaging two hundred and eighty two passing yards over
the last three weeks, seventy percent completions, thirty two yards
per rushing per game, ten total touchdowns, one interception they're averaging.
And then he has the best mark of since twenty
eighteen when it comes to their almost averaging three points

(01:51):
per drive. So that's to me the takeaway, how scary
the Chiefs are about to be and we're gonna look
up and you me, Rogie, Lijah and the whole crew
being worried Santa Clara or wherever up in the Bay,
and it's gonna be the Chiefs representing the AFC in
the Super Bowl again. And they've somehow will have pulled
it off again when none of us saw it coming.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
When we thought there would be a down year.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
We thought that Josh Allen MVP would be able to do,
when we thought Lamar Jackson will be able to come
back and bounce back. Not the case. And the Chiefs
to me are scary. And they're a week away from
Rashid Rice, which is only gonna make their three and three. Absolutely,
I have no worries about the Chiefs. So three and
three that's the walk away from me. I said, oh gosh,

(02:34):
they're back. I thought they would be. I said it
a few weeks ago, and each.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Week so much so that you picked the Ravens, right.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Picked the Ravens if you thought that, if you thought no,
but if you thought they were going to be back
this year.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
I picked the Ravens in the offseason.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
No, I know, But if you thought they were going
to be back this year, why wouldn't you have picked
the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Miss Mary Mack. If you look at our notes in there,
I literally wrote Chiefs. You will see it.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
I'm asking you you'll see it.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Go be my compliens, because the Ravens it's there. They're
justifiably going into the season. We thought they'd be there,
but here we are again and it's the same greatest
hits again.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
They're three and three. They're not going to the super Bowl.
The Chiefs are.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
This is what I found out, that another team's not
going to the super Bowl. I didn't look at it
from the Chiefs. I looked at it that the Lions
once again have shown them that they're fraudulent because the
two teams that they needed to beat or the good
teams are the two teams that they lost, Green Bay
and Kansas City. And Kansas City had a chance to
make them two and four, which would have been good.

(03:34):
They've been scuffling as far as winning games.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
So this was a game that.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
The Lions absolutely had a chance at winning in Kansas
City because everybody else seems to be beating them. Uh
and they had a chance to be two and four
in this early season. And who if they beaten the Bears,
they hung fifty points on them, the Bengals, who aren't good,
and the Ravens now that win against the Ravens isn't
as good because they can't beat anybody, so that you

(03:58):
take that one away. So really, who have they beaten
this year to make you feel look good about the Lions?
And that's what I took away from this. This was
a game to me where the Chiefs are uneven. They
didn't have that, they weren't favored by seven and a
half points. Because this was a game that the Lions
couldn't get and and the Lions couldn't win it. And
those were the two games that I looked at and

(04:21):
I said, not to win both of.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Them, split it.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
This was a game I would have felt a lot
that I would have been like, Okay, maybe the Lions.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
Do have some mojo, really have something going.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
But when it came down to it, they have the
wins against mostly the teams that aren't good, and the
wins the two games against the teams that I consider really.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Good they're owing to.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
So I looked at that and I thought to myself, Okay,
as we go forward, we'll see where the Lions are.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
But wait, waitakay, not even mad at some of your points, No,
I'm just but how then is it fraudulent versus Well,
let's wait and see. Because one of the things and
I we talked about last season that I like about
the Lions last year, and it seems to be this case.
Obviously you lost is a loss, but is that day
whoever is in front of them when they win, they

(05:10):
beat them usually bad. And that they had the point
differential difference last year point differential this year.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Meaning they beat the Ravens by a mean that they go.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
In and they beat who they're supposed to be and
they don't typically play down to come. If it's the Bengals,
they beat them. If it's so and so they beat them.
And that's what I like about You felt.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Good about last night's game.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
About about the Lions, I thought they what I did,
I'm gonna tell you what I didn't like was I
felt like they were rattled for a bit. When they
caught a great fourth down, they didn't get in an enzo,
they got an enzo and then they called it back.
I felt like a rat like kind of took them
out of it a little bit. I didn't like that
the Lions had seven points in the second half. I

(05:47):
don't and I don't like that the Chiefs defense is good,
but it's not that you shouldn't feel like it's that
good that you can't put up points. So I think
the Chiefs got a couple of few third down conversions
that kept them on the field, that kept the Lions
offense off. But I didn't walk away from that feeling
like I thought the Lions. I think the Lions lost
to the potential AFC champions representative and the Super.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Bowl, not that now. They might be You might be right,
but they're not that now. And at two and three
coming in, they weren't that. They were on their heels
in a must win game. I think I told you
Friday that they had to win. They couldn't have gone
to and four, and that was my network. But that
was one for the Lions to really bury the Chiefs,

(06:31):
which they could have, which they could have to me
seven points in the second half.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Wow, the concern now for the Lions. You got to
play the Bucks. We're gonna talk about later on. But
Vikings commanders the next three games. Yeah, But Baker Mayfield,
Now I'm gonna say good because you never want anybody hurt.
But the thing that would be in your favor if
you're the Lions is the receivers are hurt, all of
them banged up a little bit for the Bucks. So
that'd been your favorite. Because the Lions dbs are banged up. Now, Branch,

(07:00):
they done suspended Branch themselves. What in the world I
thought the league did?

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Maybe I saw it wrong. I thought the Lions. Gee,
what was it the league or was it the Lions?
Because I saw the league? He is suspended from the league.
That's what I thought.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
They're one of the better players on the defensive side
of the ball should already.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
I'm not mad, and me and Dan Campbell don't agree
on a lot, but I agree with the way that
he took him the task he caught right away to
call him out, because there's no place for that.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
You can't do that like that, meaning if it's in
the confines of the game, stuff happens. We see scuffles
right after the game up. Yeah, and I understand he
did do a dirty playing the back. You have to
and he Branch said it, I gotta handle that in
the confines of the game, in between the lines, because
then you just looked at it. We don't Joe Public

(07:52):
doesn't know that right the league, we're not they just
see that.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
We don't know. Well a few players ago he did this.
You can't swing on somebody was walking.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Up to you that, So man, look bad no matter what,
because no, it doesn't that that didn't come with an
explanation like it wasn't on the back of your fist. Hey,
I'm about to punch because of this and this and this,
all we see is the slap or the punch. So
look bad. And that's a big blow for a secondary
to the lines that they could not afford to lose. And
I'm very disappointed in him for doing that, putting your
team in a buying as already struggling health wise on

(08:20):
the back end. So now even more bird is going
to be on that offensive line.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app. Hi, this is Jay.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
I'm the producer of the Paula and Tony Fusco Show.
Usually in these promos they asked you to listen to
the show. I'm here to ask you please don't listen
to the show. The hosts are two absolute morons who
have the dumbest takes on Sports Magical. Don't listen to
the show so it can get campers.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Get him. Ignore that fool.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Listen to the Tony Fusco Show on the iHeartRadio app
or wherever you get your podcast.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
He's still moving.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
I'm gonna rag on Doug Gottlieb and I have to
what's the name of the segment because Doug does it
on the on his show what does the Fox Say?
He listens to like what we might out take, and
then he kind of takes us the task on his show,
which is fine, I'm good, this is all game.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
We're on the air. And that has to do with
James Franklin. What do you think?

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Like he's so bent out of shape that Penn State
fire Ben, Ben Franklin, James Franklin and Doug.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Doug's a coach who hasn't won, so he's making it
like like he can say what yes sometimes as hard
as he can make whatever. I get it. But it
sounds bad. It just sounds bad because he's like, well,
where's the honor in that? And now blah blah blah, dude,
and we say it on this show all the time.

(09:54):
Sports has a short menu wins and losses, and when
you don't win enough, guess what you get fired?

Speaker 4 (10:00):
So I get it.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
But Doug is trying to like, oh my god, it's
so Jane Frank looking up what he's done, and is
that dumb that honor or whatever?

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Dude? He stop? Okay, I listen, I get it. Doug.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
You're a coach. You're a I know you have a
radio show, but you're a coach and your team won
two games last year. So he's trying to like, well,
it's not always about winning.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
It's about no, No, Doug, I hate to break it
to you. It's about winning.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
And when you win, you can do almost anything, and
they will bring you back. They'll bend over backwards Kelvin,
and when you don't win, guess what they go get
somebody else.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
You want to break down why he ain't here? And
so because I don't get I didn't hear Doug's full
take on it. So no, no, no, I'm but but you
from what you're paraphrasing. I listen, there have been every
year you and I we told you this what we do,
and anybody who watches sports long enough, you know there's
gonna be a scenario where there's a coach who's fire,
who was formerly coach of the Year or candidate or

(11:02):
this that and the other gets fined.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
I want to bring this when it comes to us.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Okay, this is why I'm against your theory of being relevant,
because this is why he was allowed to stay in
this job longer than he deserved.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
And I get the timing.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
You lose to UCLA who hadn't led in any game
this year, Okay, forget about they hadn't led in any game,
and you follow that up with a loss to Northwestern?
Are you kidding? Do you know the alumni? They probably
froze their accounts the money that they will sending to
Penn State.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
Like, let's not be silly when you ask why why
do you do this?

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Why are they because the money will stop when they
feel like they can't go to a game or bring
their clients or whatever and it's not enjoyable. They will
stop the money train. That's why these things happen. When
you ask, why would they eat forty nine million dollars
because they're gonna lose more than that on the back end. Okay,
keeping James Franklin around and I looked at it.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
He couldn't win it.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
He couldn't beat any good teams, had a terrible record
against top ten teams, against Ohio State and Michigan.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
I think that he was four and seventeen or like, no,
you go ahead, am I got the exact numbers. Okay,
give me the numbers. This is awful.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
And this is why I'm against you on on being relevant,
because you go, WHOA, what are we gonna do? There's
nobody else out there, and at least we're in the mix.
And they were in the College Football Playoff last year.
But that's why when it came to the big games,
he couldn't win them.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
So my point has always been I have a shot
at winning big games, right, you keep us giving us
a shot.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
You can't.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
This isn't a shot. Rob a shot is, so there's
twenty five games to do.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Judge from a shot is twelve and thirteen, eleven and
fourteen team, This.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
Ain't a shot.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Dropping Franklin at four and twenty one at Penn State
against ap top ten opponents, not top five, not top
three ten. You're supposed to be in that caliber of
top ten teams. State is a story franchise. It's okay,
like seriously, so that that's not my My point is
more of a yo, we got a chance to get
to the When we talk about like John Harball, for example,

(13:23):
my point is historically John Harball has a chance to
get to the AFC Championship compete, you know.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
And that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
I don't want to get rid of a guy like
this this you are four and twenty one verse hot.
I can't justify when I gotta go to these booster
luncheon and add for millions and they're like, hey, what's
up my son, he's a little nerd. He was doing
some math. I present you the notes my son sent
me four and twenty one against ap top ten teams.

(13:50):
Listen to this, including a one in eighteen against top
ten big ten teams. That's who you're supposed to be, right.
Maybe you can't beat Alabama. Okay, maybe you can't be
you can't beat the big ten. Ten is who you're
supposed to beating. And how much longer can I be
the bridesmaid? If I'm Penn State meeting, I gotta sit
there and watch Michigan get another national championship.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
A couple of seasons ago.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
I gotta watch Ohio State get won last season, could
potentially get one this year.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
I gotta watch Indiana look really good this year.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
You can where they are, and they just had their
biggest win in their franchise history in that school program.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
And you know what, I see Wisconsin pull off some
things here there, and I'm like, wait, how Wisconsin do that?
Point being, I don't want to keep watching this if
I'm Penn State, and they'll be quite frankly pun intended.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Twelve years is a long time twenties.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
This ain't the nineteen sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties, even though
I'll give you early two thousands were guys sit there
and you just get to be a statue retired. You
don't even know what you're doing out They're like, coach, coach,
you go, I got don't worry about Joe Peurna, We
got you. This is what you're gonna do. Hey, hey, hey,
hey bo Sam Begger don' wherebo you know whoever? This
ain't that. This is twenty twenties information social media pressure boosters,

(14:57):
press nil now.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
But twelve years of a good run and you're asking
people for millions of dollars.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Okay, that's that's what you're asking these businessmen and boosters
and alumni to come up with. Seriously, and if you
think they're going to pay money to see you loose
the Northwestern and u c l A and think that
that's okay when they flew out to LA for the game.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
And just fired the coach, by the way, like the
u c LA came in, by the way, Deshaun Foster
looks so bad right now because UCLA looks like a
former Look at Rob g your squad, I mean they
look you have to beat them now.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
They were laughable. It's amazing where they are.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
They're they're they're world beaters now all of a sudden.
But my point is, you're right, this is not Dudy
had twelve years. They didn't hire him last year, three
years or whatever, and say, okay, that's not good enough.
Twelve years and the numbers and this is this is
the point about being relevant. Could be like John Harball

(16:01):
won a Super Bowl. It's been's been years now. After
a while, Mike McCarthy was in Green Bay.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
That was nice.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
You want to okay, now ten years of past and
after a while, the Packers were relevant the whole time,
but they kept losing in those moments.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
The Ravens keep losing in the big moments.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
Tom right, Uh, Mike Chamelin, Yeah, Mike Timeline, Mike, tom
That's what we talk about all the time.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Oh, why does he want a forty one year old call?
He needs to win. He knows he needs to win.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Mike Tomlin ain't fooling nobody, and he needs to win
because the same thing will happen. Like James Franklin after
a while, that can only buy you a certain amount
of time. He won a super Bowl and lost one.
So Tomlin's been there. I get it, but that was
years ago.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
But by the way they owe that man forty nine
million dollars, life will be good.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
He'll be fine, dud, He'll be fine, and he'll get
another job, will get a job.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
He's gonna get these get his money. He'll be fine.
But my gosh, when they wanted Jim Fish, jimbo Fisher
out at Texas A and they pay him seventy nine
six million dollars to go home and have a seat
is crazy.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Think about that.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
They were like sellety six million dollars. You know who
else is now noway near the money, but I was
looking it up. It's crazy completely. It's not college, but
the Cleveland Browns are paying five quarterbacks right now. They
got to relax too, Like it's crazy Cleveland because they
we're gonna go into the offseason. You know they're gonna
draft some Cleveland Browns is playing way too many quarters.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
I just don't understand, seriously, And that's why I brought
up Doug the start. I get it, he's a coach
and coaches, you know, they feel bad when other coaches get.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Fired and all that one and eighteen.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
But come on, Doug, you know sports, okay, And if
you lose, if you win two games again this year,
whatever it was, dude, they're not going to renew your
contract and give you a contract extension.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
I'm sorry, I don't care.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
Roger, here we go again. Now I gotta be at
the super Bowl. I gotta be ready. That's exactly what
I'm thinking right wow, speaking of super Bowl out here,
like Jon Robbin, we chopped it up with Jonn Robinson
at the super Bowl. He's just friend of the sixty
something yards. I'll throw hands if I have to, if
and when we gotta fight in the Super Bowl. Yeah,
I'm taking IYO with Sam because I feel like we're
good friends. We get talk it out, but the you

(18:19):
two gotta scrap with whoever else is there. Me and
Sam will act like we're fighting, will be off to
the side, just talking about what we Let me ask you,
and then dub.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
And young man, who are you fighting? Saying that seems
Jay stew goes hiking every weekend. I got in shape
like him too.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Man.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
We have some good runs together, man, Not how you
doing good? Yeah? Man, it's a person, not just you know.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Now we gotta we gotta rope in Monsey to fight
Dan Bayern and they do a show together.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
That's not good. It's all bad because Rob couldn't give
his mouth shut.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
I'm sorry I heard it. It just was like it
got me fired up. But that's part of I'm you
wanted a show, but I'm sorry you you cannot.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
You're gonna end up a topic on the Doug Gotlieb.
I'm wit listen, I am with you. You set up
here and heard me's many a time. Man. You can't
fire him for this or come on, they give one
more season?

Speaker 2 (19:14):
This to me.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
You can't listen.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
You can't be the first coach to lose two games
in a row to non ranked teams that you were
favored by more than twenty points.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Like that, that just can't can't happen.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
At last point, real quick for me, I told Rob
g this, this ain't your mama's and your daddy's big ten.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
We got USC in there now, right.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
You got u c LA now who obviously looks like
they've turned the corner all of a sudden out there.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Who knew that?

Speaker 3 (19:41):
But you got an Oregon meaning this ain't the ten
eleven teams you used to have to contend with. Now
you got some other big dogs coming in. And we
can't just be falling down to Penn State. That's how
you feel. We can't be getting We already got deal
with Michigan, Ohio State historically. Now we're getting further and
further down the pecking order. And lastly, they're building a
brand new facility that's gonna cost them.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
I have the number right, seven hundred million dollar.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
Renovation and people gonna stop making donations. This is what
I'm telling you. Like you're looking at the forty nine million,
that's the number to look, Kevin Hart.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
We got a lot going on.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
We need to start winning and start justifying while we're
doing all this and why people should have putting and
we're gonna get extra few games and we're gonna be
in the college football playoffs and all that kind of stuff.
So yeah, that that's why. I mean, listen, it sucks
anytime somebody for them, you know, personally, but this is
on the heart of the family. I give you twelve
years and the guys around you have two of them
back to back, one championship.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
And last thing, Doug, this is not okay, hold on,
let me do some pushup going. No, no, this is
this is Jay stupid in the No, this is the
last thing.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
It's not like your Supreme Court justice or the pope.
Those are the only people get to keep their job forever,
right regardless, Sorry, Doug. Coaches get fired when they don't win.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
I know we're early in the season, it's only five
games in or whatever, and a lot of people are
talking about Baker Mayfield and what he's doing. And I
get it, Baker's having a really great year so far
with Tampa Bay. But I'm gonna throw my hat in
the ring for Aaron Rodger, a guy who you didn't
believe was worth waiting for for the Steelers.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Would you say that, yes? Correct? Because they didn't think right.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
You didn't think that like he was old, he was
too old or old Aaron Rodgers or I just couldn't
figure out why the Stealers this is why they were
waiting for him. And I think he has a better narrative.
And Rob g we've seen this before when he won
MVP over Tom Brady, who had better stats. You remember
that year and it was Aaron Rodgers had really good

(21:51):
stats and they beat some really good teams. The Steelers
have won only one home game so far. They got
two road wins and one Intern National win. That's huge
the start, but you know what I mean, three game,
three wins away from home. Lost that game to Seattle
at home. He has ton touchdowns, three interceptions so far,

(22:14):
playing way better than anybody could have imagined.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
Right now.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Last game no sacks, which if they can protect him,
keep them up right and and him not get hurt.
I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring, and I
say he has a chance. Here's the reason I think
he has a chance.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
The division which nobody which nobody thought that they could
win Baltimore the Bengals, right, and then maybe people looking
at the Steelers as a third team. Now they have
a legit chance to win the division and getting off
to this good start.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Who do they have on Monday? On Thursday night, they
have the Bengals, so they could be fine. Even won
should day, I'm sure they'll be fab probably a touchdown.
They have a chance to be five and one. I
don't think that people who thought that they might. I
think you picked eight or nine wins.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
Is that what you have said? Nine and eight? I thought, okay,
like the ceiling.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
If they win that game, that would take them to
five five out of six, they got a good shot
to win twelve.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
Would you admit that? Would you say that? I meant
cause then you only need to win six of your
last ten. That's not that's not like, no, that's not
a possible last anything.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
You hate to Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers are doing
what they're supposed to do, So I don't want to
take that away from them, that the benefit that they
have four games are supposed to be against Joe Burrow
and Lamar Jackson, which let's say you win one, but
so you're one and three against those or whatever, but
that those are all beatable games.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
And you know we just mentioned the Bengals next, so
that's a huge. When I was making is.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Progimication, prognistation, whatever I'm talking to, progmications even say it
right now, prediction prediction, it was that you're gonna be
playing Lamar Jackson, arguably the best player in the NFL,
and then also Joe Burrow arguably top three to four
best quarterback.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
So now it is wide open for them.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
So they to me, you better take advantage of this
apps freaking loutely if you're the Steelers.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
Now.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
The reason why I hear you and I'm not. My
question was never that Aaron Rodgers can't play the position.
He had solid numbers last year. My issue was Steelers,
when are you gonna find your guy? Because you've gone
through this. You went from being a team that has
very few quarterbacks that you kind of find your guy
for a long time, find your guy for long time,
to now you got a guy for a year, maybe
two Max, When are you gonna get your guy?

Speaker 4 (24:35):
Was my issue?

Speaker 3 (24:36):
But when you look at why he's not gonna be
in this MVP candidate conversation, why you don't hear his name?
He's twenty to third in passing yards right now, Rob,
But I mean, his numbers aren't that great. When you
look at some of the guys ahead of him, it's
absolutely You know, guys, you would never think cam Ward
has more passing yards than him.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
It's not about you rattlers, but many touchdown the Ward have.
If camerret that's probably two or three. My guess would
look at three a yard hold on sound yards.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
But then you have touchdowns Baker, and you have guys
who have bigger stories.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
Sam Donald's a big story.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
The team you bought out for didn't want you to,
sent you to Seattle, and you're playing incredibly well to
the tune of uh Sam Donald. Eleven touchdowns, three interceptions,
and you have fifteen hundred yards. You got Matthew Stafford's
on Gray, SE's, Dak Prescott's up there.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
We already.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
You think Stafford's having a great year. I don't think
he's leading the league. Dude, that's incredible. He's leading the
league in passing yards. He's twelve touchdowns to two interceptions.
But his team is one of the better teams in
the MC. He's looking incredible right now. Sam Donald, Dak
Presscott Baker Mayfield, Dak Press, got record.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
V We're gonna be looking at Patrick. Don't want to
MVP will losing record to the Colvin.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
No, no, no, but he's gonna be the Joe Burrow
where we start having conversations. I think he's doing exactly
with you. He's doing exactly what he's supposed to do. Hey,
I can't help that these quarterbacks are injured. I can't
help Cleveland starting.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
It doesn't mean that that that that has anything to
do with him, you know what I mean? Like you
got to play? Who's out there?

Speaker 1 (26:15):
You see him saying, And the expectation for the Steelers
was was was uh tempered? Like you?

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Mostly A lot of people were in your camp nine
and eight. Oh, Aaron, did you see him in New York?

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (26:27):
The Jets got rid of him. Nobody wanted them.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
This that there's a narrative there or conversation of a
forty forty one years old who has a team off
to a great start. And I'm just saying, if they're
able to win the division, a win twelve or thirteen games,
there's a real conversation. And he continues to limit the
mistakes and and stays upright and doesn't get.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
The best thing he's doing is getting the ball out
of his hands quickly. Looks like we got a touchdown
there for the Bills. Well that's how they come out.
Good way to come out the uh the second half
of the scoring a touchdown? Here about a twelve fifteen
yard pass to Ray Davis receiver. Here's a couple of
other things. Though they beat the Jets, who we just
been talking about the Jets, the Browns the most recently.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Remember when they beat the Jets, the defense was god
awf will give up two hundred and fifty yards of
the round right, And he was able he would talk.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
But I'm I'm just saying he's been I'm talking about
who they've beaten.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Though they beat the Jets, they beat the they beat
the Patriots when they have five or five turnovers and
barely beat them. They beat Carson Wentz and then they
beat the Browns. And I think those things are hindering.
While he's not in the conversation. People are looking at them.
I think people are going, that's interesting. They're for him,
but nobody knows what to make of them yet because

(27:41):
we haven't really.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Think that we know.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
But Baker and the and the Bucks have been good
for a couple of years. This is not like the
Baker story to me, isn't new like they wanted.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
Taking it up a notch. Not touchdown do you have
now he's playing.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
He just lost his other good receiver last night who
second half was out and now Mike Evans.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
We don't know. He's starting to practice a little bit.
Baker is going crazy right now.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
Rob he has twelve touchdowns, one interception, a passer rating
of one hundred and eight point five.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
I mean, he's going crazy winning all. He's not that
far behind, is what I'm saying. Saty the teams that
he's beaten and he's.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
In stats wise yards dude, he only has one thousand yards.
He's the main guys on He does sixteen hundred almost
seventeen hundred per Look at the touchdown they were almost identical.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
He has everybody they have eleven. Look at these dudes
have thirteen. You thought that the Steelers would be where
they are. I don't even care who they were.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
I told you you didn't believe it. Wilson, David, I'm
not said it's gonna be. He's gonna win. I told
you it's gonna be.

Speaker 4 (28:50):
Just like Russell.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Russell went six straight and he lost five straight. The
Russell Wilson drop off is coming. Where they're gonna end,
they're hosing.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
No, I'm hoping for now Again.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
That was thinking you're gonna be playing Joe Burrow twice,
thinking you're playing Lamar Jackson twice, and things of that nature.
So he's take full advantage of it. I would too,
there being who they're supposed to.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
But nagg it.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
That is a very fortunate situation in that division because
we thought it was gonna be a tough division
