Speaker 1 (01:38):
We'll do that much more.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
And before we get there, before we get there real quick, Yeah,
I'm gonna rag on Doug Gottlieb and I have to
what what's the name of the segment? Because Doug does
it on his show. What does the Fox say? He
listens to what we might outtake, and then he kind
of takes us to task on his show, which is fine,
I'm good. This is all game. We're on the air,
(02:03):
and that has he with James Franklin. What do you
think like he's so bent out of shape that Penn
State fired Ben frank Ben Franklin, James Franklin and Doug.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Doug's a coach who hasn't won, so he's making it
like like he could say what ye as hard as
he can make whatever. I get it. But it sounds bad.
It just sounds bad because he's like, well, where's the
honor in that? And now blah blah blah, dude, and
we say it on this show all the time. Sports
(02:35):
has a short menu wins and losses, and when you
don't win enough, guess what you get fired?
Speaker 1 (02:41):
So I get it, But Doug is.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Trying to like, oh my god, it's so Jans Frankl
looking up what he's done, and is that dumb that
honor or whatever?
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Dude? He stop. Okay, I get it, Doug. You're a coach.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
You're a I know you have a radio show, but
you're a coach and your team won two games last year.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
So he's trying to like, well, it's not always about winning.
It's about no, no, dog, I hate to break it
to you. It's about winning.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
And when you win, you can do almost anything, and
they will bring you back.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
They'll bend over back with Kelvin.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
And when you don't win, guess what they go get
somebody else you want.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
You want to break down why he ain't here? And
so because I don't get I didn't hear Doug's full
take on it. So no, no, no, I'm but but you
from what you're paraphrasing. I listen, there have been every
year you and I we told you this what we do.
And anybody who watches sports long enough you know there's
gonna be a scenario where there's a coach who's fire,
who was formerly coach of the Year or candidate or
(03:42):
this that and the.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Other gets fired. I want to bring this when it
comes to us. Okay, this is this is why I'm
against your theory of being relevant, because this is why
he was allowed to stay in this job longer than
he deserved.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
And I get the timing.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
You lose to UCLA who hadn't led in any game
this year, Okay, forget about they had led in any game,
and you follow that up with a loss to Northwestern?
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Do you know the alumni they probably froze their accounts
the money that they were sending to Penn State.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Like, let's not be silly when you ask why why
do you do this?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Why are they because the money will stop when they
feel like they can't go to a game or bring
their clients or whatever and it's not enjoyable. They will
stop the money train. That's why these things happen. When
you ask, why would they eat forty nine million dollars
because they're gonna lose more than that on the back end. Okay,
keeping James Franklin around and I looked at it.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
He couldn't win it. He couldn't beat any good teams.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Had a terrible record against top ten teams against Ohio
State and Michigan.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
I think they was four seventeen or like.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
No, you go ahead, am I got the exact numbers. Okay,
give me the numbers that all.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
This is why awful and this is why I'm against
you one on being relevant, because.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
You go, WHOA, what are we gonna do?
Speaker 2 (05:14):
There's nobody else out there, and at least we're in
the Midt and they were in the College Football Playoff
last year. But that's why when it came to the
big games, he couldn't win them.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
So my point has always been I have a shot
at winning big games, right, you keep us giving us
a shot.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
You can't.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
This isn't a shot. Rob a shot is. So there's
twenty five games to do. Judge from a shot is
twelve and thirteen, eleven and fourteen.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
This ain't a shot.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Dropping Franklin at four and twenty one at Penn State
against ap top ten opponents were not top five, not
top three, ten. You're supposed to be in that caliber
of top ten teams. State is a story franchise. It's okay,
like seriously, so that that's not my My point is
more of a yo, we got a chance to get
to the When we talk about like John Harball, for example,
(06:04):
my point is historically John Harball has a chance to
get to the AFC Championship compete, you know.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
And that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
I don't want to get rid of a guy like this.
You are four and twenty one versus hot. I can't
justify when I gotta go to these boosters luncheon and
add for millions and they're like, hey, what's up my son,
he's a little nerd.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
He was doing some math.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
I present you the notes my son sent me four
and twenty one against ap top ten teams. Listen to this,
including a one in eighteen against top ten big ten teams.
That's who you're supposed to be, right. Maybe you can't
beat Alabama. Okay, maybe you can't be you can't beat
the big today tennis who you're supposed to be beating.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
And how much longer can I be the bridesmaid?
Speaker 4 (06:45):
If I'm Penn State meeting, I gotta sit there and
watch Michigan get another national championship a couple of season ago.
I gotta watch Ohio State get won last season, could
potentially get one this year. I gotta watch Indiana look
really good this year. You can where they are.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
They just had their biggest one in their part franchise
history school program, and you know.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
What, I see Wisconsin pull off some things here there,
and I'm like, wait, how what's concent do? That point being,
I don't want to keep watching this if I'm been staking,
to be quite frankly pun intended.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Twelve years is a long time tent twenties.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
This ain't the nineteen sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties, even I'll
give you early two thousands were guys sit there and
you just get to be a statue retired.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
You don't even know what you're doing out there. They're like, coach, coch, coach,
you go, I got don't worrybout Joe Peerna, We got you.
This is what you're gonna do. Hey, hey, hey, hey
bo Sam Begga, don't worry about you know whoever? This
ain't that.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
This is twenty twenties information social media pressure boosters, press
nil now.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
But twelve years is a good run. And you're asking
people for millions of dollars.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Okay, that's that's what you're asking these businessmen and boosters
and alumni to come up with. Seriously, and if you
think they're going to pay money to see you loose
to Northwestern and UCLA and think that that's okay when
they flew out to LA for the game and just fired.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
The coach, by the way, like the u c LA
came in.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
By the way, Deshaun Foster looks so bad right now
because Ucla looks like a former Look at rob Ge
your squad.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
I mean they look you have to beat them now.
They were laughable.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
It's amazing where they are there there they're world beaters
now all of a sudden. But my point is, you're right,
this is not dudey had twelve years. They didn't hire
him last year, three years or whatever, and say, okay,
that's not good enough. Twelve years and the numbers and
this is this is the point about being relevant. It
(08:40):
could be like John Harball won a Super Bowl. It's
been it's been years now. After a while, Mike McCarthy
was in Green Bay.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
That was nice.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
You want to okay, now ten years of past and
after a while, the Packers were relevant the whole time,
but they kept losing in those moments. The Ravens keep
losing in the big moments. Tom right, Uh, Mike Chamblin, Yeah,
Mike Timeline, Mike, tom That's what we talk about all
the time.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Oh, why does he want a forty one year old
coll He needs to win. He knows he needs to win.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Mike Tomlin ain't fooling nobody, and he needs to win
because the same thing gonna happen. Like James Franklin, after
a while, that can only buy you a certain amount
of time.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
He won a super Bowl and lost one. So Tomlin's
been there. I get it.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
But that was years ago. But by the way they
owe that man forty nine million dollars. Life will be good.
He'll be fine, dud, he'll be fine, and he'll get
another job, get a job. He's gonna get these, he'll
get his money.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
He'll be fine.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
But my gosh, when they wanted Jim Fish, Jimbo Fisher
out at Texas A and pa him seventy nine six
million dollars to go home and have a seat is crazy.
Think about that. They were like llety six million dollars.
You know, who else is now noway near the money.
But I was looking it up as crazy completely is
not college. But the Cleveland Browns are paying five quarterbacks
(10:04):
right now. They got to relax too. It's crazy clean
because they we're gonna go into the offseason. You know
they're gonna draft. The Cleveland Browns is playing away too
many quarters.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
I just don't understand, seriously, And that's why I brought
up Doug the start. I get it, he's a coach
and coaches, you know, they feel bad when other coaches.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Get fired and all that one and eighteen.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
But come on, Doug, you know sports, okay, And if
you lose, if you win two games again this year,
whatever it was, dude, they're not going to renew your
contract and give you a contract extension.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
I'm sorry, I don't care. Roger, here we go again.
Now I gotta be at the super Bowl. I gotta
be ready. That's exactly what I'm thinking right.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Oh wow, speaking of super Bowl out here, like Jon Robbins,
we chopped it up with Bjon Robinson at the super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
He's just friend of the sixty something yards run. I'll
throw hands if I have to. If and when we
got to fight in the Super Bowl. Yeah, I'm taking
Iowa Sam because I feel like we're good friends. We
get talk it out. But the you two got a
scrap with whoever else is there. Me and Sam will
act like we're fighting. Movie off to the side, just
talking about where we let me ask you you and
then dumb young.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Man, are you fighting? Get that seems Jay ste goes
hiking every weekend in shape like him to man, we
have some good runs together. Man, how you doing good? Yeah? Man,
it's like an person, not just you know.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
Now we gotta we gotta rope in Monsey to fight
Dan Bayern and they do a show together.
Speaker 6 (11:31):
That not good. It's all bad because Rob couldn't give
his mouth shut. I'm sorry I heard it. It just
was like it got me fired up. But that's part
of you wanted to show. But I'm sorry you. You
you cannot.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
You're gonna end up a topic on the DOUG. I'm
with listen, I am with you.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
You set up here and heard me's many time, and
you can't fire him for this or come on, they
get one more season. This to me, you can't listen.
You can't be the first coach to lose two games
in a row to non ranked teams that you were
favored by more than twenty points, like that.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Can that just ca' can't happen?
Speaker 4 (12:07):
And last point, real quick for me, I told Rob
g this, this ain't your mama's and your daddy's big ten.
We got USC in there now right. You got UCLA now,
who obviously looks like they've turned a corner all of
a sudden out there.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Who knew that?
Speaker 4 (12:21):
But you got an Oregon meaning this ain't the ten
eleven teams you used to have to contend with. Now
you got some other big dogs coming in. And we
can't just be falling down of Penn State. That's how
you feel. We can't be getting We already got to deal
with Michigan Ohio State historically. Now we're getting further and
further down the pecking order. And lastly, they're building a
brand new facility that's gonna cost them. I have the
(12:42):
number right, seven hundred million dollar.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Renovation and people gonna stop making donations. This is what
I'm telling you. Like you're looking at the forty nine million,
that's the number.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
To look, Kevin Hunt. We got a lot going on.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
We need to start winning and start justifying while we're
doing all this and why people should have putting and
we're gonna get extra few games and we're gonna be
in the college football playoffs and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
So yeah, that that's why.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
I mean, listen, it sucks anytime somebody for them, you know, personally,
but this is on the heart of the family. I
giving you twelve years and the guys around you have
two of them back to back, one championship. And last thing, Doug,
this is not okay, hol on, let me do some
pushup going.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
No, no, this is this is it? Jay, stupid?
Speaker 2 (13:20):
No, this is the last thing. It's not like your
Supreme Court justice or the pope. Those are the only
people get to keep their job forever, right regardless, Sorry, Doug.
Coaches get fired when they don't win sports as a
short menu wins and losses, all right, eight seven seven
(13:41):
ninety nine on Fox, you want to hear from you
eight seven seven nine nine six sixties.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
Here I am.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
I gotta worry about scrapping. Worry about you ain't have
to scrap. Did James Franklin deserve to get fired at
Penn State? We'll continue that conversation next with you are
you all right? It is the odd couple.

of those comments in moment, let's get the call here.
Talking about James Franklin, you and I one of the
times we agree it.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Was just time for him to go. I'd rather have
Ben Franklin as a coach right now.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
I'm just saying, I mean, at least you can bring
some electricity to the exactly.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (16:00):
Hey, Hey, no, thanks for taking the call. It's a
sad turn of events for Penn State given how they
started the season top five with national championship aspirations. But
college football right now, particularly the age of NFL nil
excuse me, it's winner go home, and these were two
unacceptable losses back to back. And the fact of the
matter is you mentioned it in terms of Texas.
Speaker 9 (16:23):
Some of these.
Speaker 8 (16:23):
Boosters based on things that's going on in the economy
specific to Texas, the oil money that they have, they're
able to make that buyout and get the heck rid
of you. So just because these coaches signed these ironclad
deals and they feel that they have this protection, yes
you're going to get all your money, but you're not
going to necessarily have that privileged seat because with the
(16:43):
nil and the mega boosters that we're seeing that people
are taken interest in these sports and they just have
deep pockets. If it gets the point where, you know,
it gets to that frenzy point like it is with
Penn State losing on the homecoming game, that which is unacceptable,
then you're done.
Speaker 9 (17:00):
Gune period and his story, and you.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Know this, the boosters will cut your money off if
it's embarrassing and they can't go to a game or
take their friends and clients.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
You know what I mean, bad Listen, these are inexcusable
losses to two. Dre's point, Drake, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Like this again, you didn't lose to Michigan by a
phil go at the end or a touchdown or usc
the offense is going great that you can't lose as
bad to these teams UCLA who doesn't have it, They
couldn't even they look awful out there, and you lose
to them. And again one in eighteen versus Top ten
Big ten teams, one in eighteen.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
Rob Crazy, all right, we're gonna take more of your
calls eight seven to seven ninety nine on four on Fox.
But first Rob g has some of the YouTube people of.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
The Odd my Odd mob is weighing in.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
And by the way, just to pull the curtain back,
screw Elijah for creating the YouTube page and need it
so that right after that rant was the Doug Gottlie
rant that.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Came next to the keye wasn't really he did it
on purpose, like he's trying to instigate, like he wants
to see the fight. So who Elijah the hands with?
Would it be? Saga?
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Yes, Elijah, Elijah Saga have to throw heads at the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 9 (18:06):
Man.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
I know, I'll see for dinner tonight, but right, and
then we'll all go out to dinner at least messed
up man.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
But here's some of the comments that came in. Rn
K says, Doug is mad, corny.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
I don't know that. What you don't know that?
Speaker 5 (18:18):
I mean, it's pretty straightforward, unrelated to what we're talking about.
Warren Rambo Terry says Gottli went on the tangent. Franklin
has got to go. Yes, and then Scott Lewis, who
apparently was still watching the promo in the middle, says,
this is the maddest I've seen Doug get in a while.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Yeah, I mean like like Doug is in this position,
you know what I mean, and you got to justify
your being.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
They stand up for each other.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
What you're saying, Yeah, the coaching fraternity is big time,
all right? Eight seven, seven ninety nine On Fox, Don
in the Up of Michigan.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Don?
Speaker 7 (18:56):
Hey?
Speaker 10 (18:57):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (18:57):
My guys?
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Doing good? How are you hey?
Speaker 10 (19:00):
I'm doing great?
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Thanks for I was almost up there. I was in
Traverse City for a year in college. I was almost
up there.
Speaker 10 (19:06):
Hey, bro, you gotta go five hours north.
Speaker 9 (19:08):
Still there.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I'm just as far as I go.
Speaker 10 (19:12):
I got you.
Speaker 9 (19:13):
So listen.
Speaker 10 (19:14):
Everybody knows what Doug's doing here. Man, He's trying to
save himself. I'm trying to make James Franklin situation that
look so bad. Meanwhile, Doug goes and listens to Michigan
Tech last year, freaking Division two school, and Bob Morris
he got smoked by them twice. They're bad, and Doug
in any but on his show, even that dude beyond
and all day on his show, I can't even listen.
(19:41):
He's unemployed by everything.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
It's let me get there. How many games did they
win last year? Do you remember that?
Speaker 9 (19:51):
No?
Speaker 1 (19:51):
I said too, so I feel I want to get out.
Speaker 10 (19:55):
Won two games and then and then there were two
and eleven and they lost to Michigan Tech. And I
remember it typically because he was talking mad trash. Oh
we got to play this Division two.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
School blah blah blah, be called Denbury.
Speaker 10 (20:07):
And then they're going freaking lose to him. It's like,
what you're doing, bro, You lost too bunch of white
boys in the up. What is going on?
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Just settle putting you in this school, Nelson, then I
have to put you now.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
This is taking on a whole line of its own
here up and now why guys in up gonna be mad?
Speaker 1 (20:27):
And you all I gonna hear? Is hear that? And
look at the show is gonna see two brothers, see
what I mean? We didn't say it.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
The YouTube being is kind of really want to see
this happen because now we got I don't know this
to two or ill ill whatever it is. Calvin can't
fight anyways, so now look what you guys did.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Look at that. Now look I am a domestic.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
I want to see it fight now now I didn't
want to fight before. Now like we have to defend
Kelvin's honor because.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
But also my freshman year I fought my freshman year
in college with my roommate for what over what over
clean that couples show? Put them up over cleaning up
like we were doing like it was dumb, playing like
a game and the broom whisk or in the floor.
But I had some studying to do, and I said
I'll pick it up, but he wanted me to pick
(21:13):
it up like right then, and I'm like, no, no, no,
as long as I clean it up, I don't have
to do it like right now. Let me get my
study in it and then I'll clean up the stuff
and whatever.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
We got to rumbling.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
You know, if you and Doug fight, it's literally gonna
be like a Fox Sports version of Mike Tyson and
Jake Parr.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Doug has no show.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Always literally gonna be that I'm from Jamaica, queen. The
best one of the worst part about it is Rob
g is I'm gonna have to be me and Doug
because he's you know, you're gonna somehow get out of it.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
You know, you're not freeing that hold man hold the
next thing.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
I know, I got to be in the middle of it,
having flashbacks and running around back in the day. All right,
So now that we said that that, now that we
gotta find the under undercar, we gave Doug a.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Show for the mall so tomorrow he can do this
instead of yawning on the AAR.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
So maybe I didn't say.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Somebody else said I'm not listening, all right, TJ who
spis out on the other side. Steven Sacred has breaking
news about our undercard for this or not.
Speaker 3 (22:10):

Speaker 4 (22:22):
A lot going on right now in the sports world.
That's why we love this time of year. Everything's going on.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
I know, a week away from the start of the
NBA and the Dodgers and Brewers are on the underwear
as well. So yeah, lot and aches and pains.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
They can keep you up during the holiday hustle and
bustle will leave can help you forget the pain and
make some happy memories instead. With just one pill of
lead provides up to twelve hours of body pain relief
so you can keep it moving.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Use as directed. Join now by our guy A. Finally,
some music for TJ. What we got we had music? Yeah,
he's been jeezy in all season. You need to clean
that earwax aka we need a Q tip in the
studio talking.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
About oh receiver co host of my battery in my
ear here adaye, that is.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
What I hear me. Look, you got worried man?
Speaker 9 (23:17):
What what?
Speaker 2 (23:17):
What?
Speaker 1 (23:17):
What? Hey?
Speaker 9 (23:18):
What's going on? I'm just y'all eating ribs up in
the studio last week.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
That was last week. You missed it. That's right, hey, TJ.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Before we get to the NFL, obviously, there's stuff to
talk about.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
James Franklin and Penn State. He couldn't beat any of
the good, big teams, the good schools.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
I mean, he was coached for twelve years. Is this
like breaking news to you that that they lose to two?
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Right?
Speaker 2 (23:44):
I mean, at some point you gotta win, don't you.
Speaker 9 (23:47):
Rob. I said to LeVar Arrington on our show on Saturday.
I said, there's no way Penn State is losing to Northwestern,
and if they do, they better fire James Franklin immediately.
I said that him on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Wow. And so.
Speaker 9 (24:05):
You don't want to see anybody get fired, say he
getting fired with fifty million? So he goody?
Speaker 1 (24:10):
All right?
Speaker 9 (24:11):
You have all that talent, You have a quarterback that's
a potential first rounder. You treating him, Mike, he's a
walk on. Like I just never understood the style of
play that they played on offense. It was almost as
if they were playing not to lose, and you try
to keep games close and put all the pressure on
your defense and hopefully you can run the ball. And
(24:33):
it came back to buy them. You know. Again, he
may be a great coach. I just didn't like Penn
State style of offense. It was born and watch. It
wasn't conducive at least for me. If you're offensive lineman
or a running back, Yeah, you can get to the
league for Penn State. But you're playing offense and you're
a quarterback and you're a receiver. You can't go to
Penn State with that offense.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Oh and my my point was too.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
As Rob mentioned, you can't go one and eighteen against
top he's born when he won against top ten teams,
that that's a recipe for disaster. Let's get to you
to the NFL. I told Rob earlier, TJ. I put
the Ravens, and maybe you picked the raven Rob picked
the raven people picked this team, and Broncos got a
lot of love, so and so forth. Bills, it's about
(25:16):
to be the Chiefs represented in the Super Bowl again.
Speaker 9 (25:19):
Oh my god, Kelvin, come on, bro, you watched the
game last night.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Tell them Please wait before you tell me about the Chiefs.
What you're about to break it down?
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Breaking down out the a f c then no, let
him break down the Chiefs.
Speaker 9 (25:33):
I told you who my picked. I told you who
my pick is out the AFC.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Charge you said, right.
Speaker 9 (25:38):
The Chargers, Yeah, I can't go back against that are
playing better football. I'm gonna give them that. You give
my homes the deep treat day and it shown it
was awakening in the Super Bowl with Worthy. Now they're
starting to utilize them. But let's be honest, bro, they
went the whole game without a pennity call. Thank It's
virtually impossible to play again. I see I probably saw
(26:02):
two or three holding calls by the old line that
weren't called. Brian Branch was dead wrong, but he did
get hit in the back, right, But you got to
do that.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
In the game, no, TJ. Not afterwards either you can't
do it. You can't.
Speaker 9 (26:16):
Brian Branch was dead wrong. But I'm gonna took me.
I'm gonna get you back in the game and then I'm.
Speaker 10 (26:22):
Gonna just go to your locker I'm going to your.
Speaker 9 (26:24):
Locker room after the game. That's what I'm doing. So
the Chiefs are a good football team, but their for
them not to have one penalty call.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
But that's what we say that means that's in favor
of them, TJ. Because we say this every year. They
get on the calls or they not like this. We
say this every year, So that doesn't that favor them
that they always get these or don't get the they
always benefit from the refs.
Speaker 9 (26:46):
Hey, it's just disheartening when you're an opposing team playing
the Chiefs and you know going into the game, like
Mahomes is gonna get every rough in the passer call.
But you hit my quarterback in his helmet. It ain't
a rough in the passer call, but you touched my
home Just a rough in the passer call? Like it
just at some point, just make it fair.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
Okay, we got they They.
Speaker 9 (27:07):
Have good enough players. They don't need any help. They're
good as it is.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
We gotta go here with the Jets.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Oh and six, Just an awful performance negative ten yards
on offense forty five yards by Justin Fields. I mean, TJ,
I don't know where you stand with Justin Fields. I've
been trying to figure it out. I know a lot
of people like them and whatnot. I know I think
you do too, But my goodness, gracious, what is going
(27:32):
on with the Jets And do they have to make
a change. I mean to save the locker room, owing
six to make the other players feel like something's happening here.
Speaker 9 (27:41):
What do you do with Aaron Glenn being a first
year head coach. You're really gonna have to find the
vibe of that locker room because if the best players
on that team want to see Tyrod Taylor play and
you don't play them, you you risk losing the locker room.
And I don't think enough has talked about the locker
(28:04):
room really runs a team. They it's a temperature of
the team. And so if they feel like justin field
is no reasoning is very rare that it's just one guy.
But if they really feel that way, you gotta give
Tyrod Taylor an opportunity. But for Aaron Glenn, he has
to figure out what's gonna work, because you they not
(28:25):
gonna go oh and seventeen, But to be the only
winningless team in the league when you like just before halftime,
if you just push it just a little bit, maybe
that field gonna work the game that.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Would have won the DJs one. What are you doing?
You you gotta push it there? What are you afraid of?
Your winless?
Speaker 9 (28:44):
Really, it's just questionable things. And so he's gonna have
to figure that out because the Jets have good players.
You got Garrett Wilson, really good receiver, you got Breeesaw
a really good running back, you got a really good offensive.
We know what the defense was last year with Salad.
So it's not like you go to the Jets and
(29:04):
you don't have good players. There's good players on that team.
They got to figure it out.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Hey, TJ. Who thought it was all Aaron Rodgers fault?
But that's another thing. Moving to a.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
Former Pro Bowl receiver co host of Up on Game
on Fox Sports Radio, I want to go to a
team and a guy who listen. They're now FOURGN too
to the Seattle Seahawks. They beat a good Jacks team, Sam
Donald almost three hundred yards two touchdowns, is looking good?
What do you make of them? Are they real contenders?
You got a you know, they got a defense as well.
They look good. How real are they to you?
Speaker 9 (29:39):
Man? The Seahawks are good? Man, Mike McDonald, he the
real deal as a head coach. He's the real deal,
and not many people bring his name up. You look
at the Ravens defense now that he isn't there. He
is the real deal. As a coach, Sam Donald is
playing out of his mind. They ship DK off and
it's like, what are they doing? They Jackie Smith and
(30:00):
Jig but is the reason they shit bet off because
they knew what he could do, and so they look
really good. They are the real deal. They are not frauds.
And for me, I just look at Sam Donald because
we were just talking about the Jets. They were calling
him a bust in New York and he goes to
San Francisco, to Minnesota now Seattle and he is a
(30:23):
bona fide franchise quarterback. Maybe these quarterbacks need they need
time or do they just need to be in the
right situation that's conducive to them to have success.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
Yeah, and Rob and I talk about that sometimes. Man,
that's the hard part coming out of college. You don't
know where you're gonna land. What terrible situation you could
be the forty fifth quarterback for the Browns trying to
figure this thing out?
Speaker 1 (30:44):
You got one more.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Yeah, yeah, I just the Sam Donald last year TJ
fair and unfair. Those two games at the end of
the year for the division and the playoff game. It
turned people off to him and when the big game counted,
you know what I mean, he wasn't there, And I
don't know if that's fair or not or whatever. Even
(31:05):
with Seattle, they didn't give him some great contract only like, really,
one year is guaranteed. What does he have to do
to change people? Because we've seen this last year right
with Minnesota. It's whether or not he can win a
big playoff game.
Speaker 9 (31:19):
That was his first opportunity on that stage. That was
his first opportunity basically for all the marbles, and he
came up short. He didn't play the way he had
played during the regular season throughout, and so for him,
it's very simple. I got to get to the playoffs, yep.
(31:39):
And I can't be the reason we lose. I cannot
be the reason. And if he plays well, then there's
no more question marks with Tom.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
I agree, I agree. If he plays well, Yeah, if
he plays he's going.
Speaker 9 (31:53):
To have to play well. You can't just lead him
to the playoffs and then you play like trash when
you get there. He's going to have to play well,
and I actually believe he will. I believe he will
play well because that that loss is really not a loss,
It was a lesson learned that well.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Me and Rob talked about it.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
I thought Vin Viking should have stuck with him, But
they're big on JJ McCarthy. We'll have to wait and
see how that's their guy.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
I called him Sam mcdonnald, But I told you you
Sally was good. All right, TJ. Appreciate you man, Thanks buddy.
Speaker 9 (32:23):
Now, y'all take care of Roberts, the King of nicknames.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
I love you, all right, TJ.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
We gotta keep you updated on this Monday night and
a couple of games going on in these baseball postseason games.

Get that up there for you shortly, all right, what
you say?
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Yeah, I'm gonna say this, And it's way early. The
Dodgers and Brewers of just getting started or whatever. And
I know teams don't repeat. The Dodgers are trying to
get to the World Series and repeat or whatever. I'm
starting to light to loosen up to the idea after
seeing what Seattle.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
Did on how.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Good it would be for baseball if it's Seattle and Milwaukee.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
I know, I know, I know, Fox don't want to
hear that, you know what I mean, like like a finals.
I know we saw that in Indiana. It was the
worst rated, right, I mean, I get it. Seattle and
Milwaukee would not be followed after the Yankees Dodgers ro
that was insane.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
Would it be half the ratings? I don't even know
what do you think? So it wouldn't be half, but
it'll probably be.
Speaker 4 (34:11):
Well, I mean maybe because you got a potential MVP Canny.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
I don't know when it comes out meeting.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
I don't know if he'll be the envy, you know,
like when that'll come out.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
So maybe that helps a little bit. But no, that
ain't it. Bro.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
We just came off an amazing postseason last year, then
we go into the amazing specifically.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Okay, but I'm looking at it and I'm looking at Seattle.
I like Seattle over Toronto.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
Well, I told you that's my pick, Dodger. Seattle looking
like a genius right now.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
So Milwaukee is story like them, trying to finally break
through and win. Like Seattle's never won. Milwaukee's won, but
it was a million years ago.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
I'm sorry, Rob, g no no interest Seattle Milwaukee. We
already know, Kelvin says, no. I mean, I'm gonna watch it.
Speaker 5 (34:57):
But for you to say that you're warming up to
the idea warming up to it, David Shaon, when I
let this happen, the Black SUVs will be at somebody's
house immediately.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Is Did that just score at the the.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
End of the half. Okay, that's insane. Yeah, I think
it's twenty seven. My gosh, Rob, your Buffalo bill suck, buddy. No,
I thought that they'd win this game. It's it's football.
I'm gonna tell you something. That's the other thing.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Watch these games and all this stuff, Dude, like game
do you just expect? Do not assume anything.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
Like no touchdown? He was out at the half yard
one yard line.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
So that's it. That's the end of the half, right,
there's no.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
It depends on where they because then you'll have to
go by when the foot was out, and it might
have been one second left. They might put the put yard.
I think it's gonna be out at the one one
second left, that's what I think it's gonna be. Nope, well,
I think they're going to review it. Did they Yeah,
they're in a review right now.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
Ruling on the field is touchdown.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
Michael Penick Junior has ca right do rag like Dipset
is back with that with that pink do Rag is
college era right now, dip Set. Sorry, they're gonna review.
He gonna get a second back. It'll be to my opinion,
it's gonna be one second left, one yard line. They're
gonna kick a field, gonna be up twenty four to seven.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
By the way, Drake London is going crazy on the
Bills right now. My gosh, Caleb score about looks like
he might have there's a lot of sports going on
right now. That's all I can tell you. All Right,
here's the ruling half yard line. They put some time on.
(36:36):
Let's see they put some time on there.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
I don't know. They didn't say yeah halftime. Oh I
didn't think there was I didn't think there was any
he was one second left. No, right, So here's the
question then?
Speaker 5 (36:48):
Is it gonna maybe not lead sports debate shows tomorrow,
but it's gonna be a topic. Was Drake London being
selfish for going for the end zone knowing they didn't
have a lot of time left?
Speaker 1 (36:56):
No, he had a chance. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
I just like playing that game like, oh no, me
too many step outs so we get a field goal?
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Do you know what I mean? Rob G?
Speaker 2 (37:05):
I think you just have to run and try to
get in the end zone like you hope you can
get there.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
Not that would have been something.
Speaker 4 (37:12):
I would rather him try and he almost got in there,
versus you try to get out of bout and for
whatever reasons, you don't get out of with any time
left now and be mad because at least you went
for the touchdown. Can't be mad at you tried put
some I'm with you, Yeah, yeah, in that standpoint too.
But the Falcons, and this is what people said about
the Falcons. You know, we didn't know what they would be.
The fan I don't believe.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
I do, but not that people fully believe.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
But offensively people, you know, this is what we've expected
for a couple of years now. Out three hundred and
thirty five yards in the first half.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
No, I'm going to that locker that's the Steelers entire
game right there. Ron, I'm going in that locker room
and I'm firing everybody.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
The only difference is is it a win? It's all
about winning.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
And look at the Dodgers to just pick somebody off
of them, they weren't even close.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
No, they thirty five yard is in the first half.
We got another whole half twelve. Will they win? That's
what I want to know. The Falcons go to I
don't think the Bills is as every good as everybody thinks.
